Connecting the alarm via the Ring app was simple. If you have shared users, you can only connect the device using the primary user’s account. Connect the detector via the app before you install on the ceiling or wall.

For me, there was no need to drill holes to install since the base of old was same as base for this one. These are wireless detectors so no need to “wire” them. I tested the detectors and they sounded off as they should.

I replaced all detectors in home with these. The primary user will be able to see all detectors listed so if you have more than one listed, you will need to name them so you would know which one is which.

You can assign a location (living room, master bedroom, etc. ) and name for each detector. I have not had any of them to sound off yet. It is supposed to be “smart” enough to detect “normal” smoke from cooking.

I have yet to verify that. There are varies types, some be mindful of which one you are getting. Not all types with Ring. Additionally, the detectors are not interconnected. If one rings, you will not here an announcement of which one is sounding off.

However, you should be able to determine which one via the ring app/notification. These detectors do run by batteries, so you need to be mindful of that. You should be able to see the battery efficiency in the Ring app.

They are reasonable priced. They may be a bit cheaper on Amazon. Best Buy is supposed to price match. I tried that but since the “model number” was not the same, my store would not honor it. I did purchase one from Best Buy.

I would commend to others as it adds another level of home safety.

Its basically a normal smoke/CO2 detector that has Z-Wave built in. It works great in Hubitat using the generic driver. It does self tests scared me the first time it did one. Battery seems pretty good, its been 2 months and the battery is showing 96% still.

I wish they had a wired version since all my other detectors are wired but this is the next best thing. Installation was easy, just screw on the mounting bracket to the ceiling and twist in the device.

Bought two of these to connect to our ring alarm. Both work great after a little confusion on how they display in the ring app once set up. Once I connected one device, and it showed two devices in the ring app which was a little weird; “First Alert Fire & CO2” & “First Alert CO2”.

I was confused and deleted one of them. It deleted both of them. I tried to re add the device and couldn’t get it to add to my ring app. I tried multiple troubleshooting steps and couldn’t get the detector to connect to my app.

I set up the second device and again it added two devices to my ring app. One for Fire and co2 and another device labeled co2. I then renamed one to “Downstairs Fire” and the other to “Downstairs CO2”.

I exchanged the first device and renamed the new device(s) to their location and Fire or co2. I have not had either go off so don’t know what happens on the app when one goes off as of yet but both show connected on the ring app.

I would give it zero stars if allowed. You know what makes a terrible smoke alarm? Not being able to turn it off. like literally ever. False alarms began today out of nowhere, and silencing the alarm only works for a few minutes before it starts again.

Tried to shut it off through the app but was told my account didn’t exist. ok. Made a new one, never got the confirmation email so I can’t use that account or that email address. Meanwhile the alarm is still going off every five minutes.

Take it down, lol you thought you’d be able to take out the battery? No, see this is a “smart” (see: dumb) smoke detector so duh. of course you can’t access the battery silly. And if you did, it says it will literally render the alarm useless.

Well ok, I need to shut it off so let’s flip that switch on the back it says will kill the alarm. Five minutes later guess what’s still going off? Literally the only solution is to SMASH it to pieces and replace it with an actual smoke detector that costs $19.

99, can shut off when wanted and can change the battery when needed and doesn’t require passwords, apps, WiFi, etc. This. thing. is. awful. Buy any other smoke detector.

My family installed these smoke detectors in our house a few months ago, switching from Nest. Within the first month, we found out that they were super faulty. They would go off and the app would say everything was fine.

My mom took a shower and the steam set the alarms off. These smoke alarms and autism don’t mix. I have to cover my ears every time they go off because the noise from the alarm causes me to get overwhelmed and have a panic attack.

It is also loud enough that with all the windows and doors closed, our neighbors can hear them go off. Terrible system. Don’t waste your money on these.

This 2-in-1 detector is super easy to set up. Once caveat for those concerned they may have received a dud unit is that it needs to be clicked in securely into the base in order to turn on. Trying to turn it on before you follow the full installation will result in.

I like the dual sensor capability of these alarms. They install easily, especially where the prior alarms were First Alert units. So far, they are all doing what they are supposed to do.

Nothing to dislike. I bought these in place of wired because I’m getting too old to go up a ladder to replace the battery. They are sitting on my ceilings held up with Scott’s outdoor tape. Hopefully, I will never have to find out whether or not they really work.

Unit not working correctly. According to the manual normal Operation there should be a flashing green LED once per minute and the green LED is not working. Makes me wonder if your company is selling inferior products at a lower price will probably not buy from you again.

Great smoke detectors. This is one of the few models on the market that is both battery-powered and wirelessly interconnected, which is exactly what I need. Unfortunately this model is getting hard to find and might be discontinued, which doesn’t make sense because it is very highly-rated on many websites.

I recently purchased two of the Kidde 0919-9999 Wireless Battery Powered RF-SM-DC detectors which became a part of a four unit intercommunicating system in my house. When I installed them I utilized the tamper proof feature which locks the cover in place.

The other night one of the alarms went off which set off all of the alarms. There was no smoke or fire. I was able to “hush” the alarms by pushing the button on one however, I was unable to remove the cover to check the batteries as a result of the poor design of the tamper proof feature which had locked the cover on the smoke detector.

It is nearly impossible to push the release tamper proof tab and turn the smoke detector cover while standing on a stepladder. I finally removed the entire smoke detector with a crow bar and threw it in the trash as opposed to listening to the alarm go off every seven minutes.

That was equivalent to flushing $31. 00 down the toilet. I would highly suggest anyone installing this unit avoid setting the tamper proof feature. After all, who is going to tamper with it when it is installed on the ceiling?.

A couple of years ago I bought 4 of these from another retailer for my house. I really like the fact that these units connect wirelessly so all will sound when just one senses smoke. This is really good when you have multiple floors and remote areas in your home where a fire could burn for a while before being noticed.

So when it was time to get new smoke detectors for my Moms house I went back to them but they only had two as they were closing them out. Their loss! I checked Walmart’s website and was able to get the 3rd unit I needed for my Mom’s house.

I highly recommend them. Please keep them in stock.

This unit was in torn, filthy packging. The internal battery life will be minimal as it was produced in 2018 so we received it 3 years after the recommended usage time began. We hesitated to take the time to install it because it was so battered that we thought it might be a waste of time.

It did work, but we are not expecting an optimal life span on it.

The price was doubled or tripple anywhere else and i looked everywhere. Received it fast and it was the exacted one. I will always search this web site first. I would advise everyone else to do the same.

This is a great alarm. This is not needed in every room in the house. I recommend getting at least one for the kitchen or where you might be cooking and have gas in your house. I had one then lasted me years, but due to rain damage and a leak, I am buying a replacement now.

First Alert is the first thing that comes my mind when I’m looking for carbon monoxide and smoke detection equipment. So when I saw First Alert Onelink Battery Powered Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Detector with Mobile and Voice Alerts I was over the moon with excitement.

I’m not a tech savy person so when this arrived in the email, I was a bit hesitant with the installation process. However, I was pretty surprised at how easy this detector was to install. It took a total of five minutes! One of the best features is that unlike other detectors, this one doesn’t have any false alarms which can be a pain.

The alarm itself is quite loud, an important feature. If you want to purchase more than one, they have a wireless feature so they’re all easy to connect with one another. Gives me comfort knowing I’m safe in my home! Definitely recommend! I would encourage to get one for every room!.

Already own one of these but as always with Fibaro products the setup with Smartthings wasnt easy. I needed to place it next to the hub and try several things to pair the device. Once paired it works well.

Like all the extra parameters that Fibaro give you to configure the device.

Smoke Sensor is connected to my Samsung Smartthings Hub2. ST found the sensor very quickly when tested the siren was very loud. I have put it in the kitchen on the ceiling My daughter recently burnt food – house fire alarms went nuts- nothing from the Fibaro Smoke Sensor.

Took it down, blew cigarette smoke at it nothing. It was still treporting temp but not sensing smoke. Ran a Test – siren worked fine. Blew smoke at it again – nothing. I definitely would not trust this device to protect my house.

It’s not easy to write a review of an alarm or smoke sensor as the normal condition is that you don’t want it to sound. However the Fibaro smoke sensor is a great little device. Installing it and including it in a Fibaro HC2 based system was straightforward.

I placed it on the upstairs landing at the top of the stairs close to an old smoke alarm that I no longer trust to work. The Fibaro one is a fraction of the size of the old one. It is designed to be very discreet.

The fact that it like all battery powered devices informs the controller of its battery state is a real comfort. It is almost impossible to ignore a battery warning on the HC2 – especially if set up to send e-mail notifications.

Da die Batterie 10 Jahre lang hält (danach Komplettaustausch), muss man sich keine Sorgen machen das Wechseln der Batterien zu vergessen.

This is so much better than the usual Chinese junk on this site, the key is to insist on products that meet the required BRITISH standards, European Chinese Export (CE) stamps are a waste of time.

With test i made the smoke detector worked fine. I hope i never need to see it work in real conditions.

Gleiches Fehlerbild, wie damals. Reklamation wurde leider noch nicht beantwortet. Damit sind wir nun leider nicht mehr so zufrieden, wie wir es bisher waren.

TranslateShow in original languageZum Produkt gibt es nur eins zu sagen. Die angebliche Laufzeit der Batterie von 10 Jahre ist schlicht gelogen. Ich habe 2 dieser Gerte in meiner Wohnung, diese sind nun 3 Jahre alt und sind beide mit einem Fehler im Abstand von 3 Monate ausgefallen.

Eine Messung der Batterien ergab, dass die Kapazitt nur noch bei 1,34 Volt und 1,23 Volt lag. Hinzu kommt, dass ich einem Mietshaus wohne, unser Vermieter hat 14 Rauchmelder von diesem Model gekauft, davon sind 5 schon beim Recyclinghof gelandet.

Ich kaufe nur noch Gerte, bei denen ich die Batterie wechseln kann. Ist billiger und sicherer.

These are very neat units. I’m replacing an older version and the base plate is identical so easy to fit. One of my old ones packed up much sooner than advertised so hope these will both last the distance.

I bought a couple of these for our new home, since I had installed them at our previous home and was very satisfied with the Nest products and Nest support of the years. As many of Canadians we recently experienced an internet outage with Rogers and when the internet finally came back all of our Nest and Google products came back online but 1 of the Nest Protect didn’t.

So I tried all the suggested fixes on the Nest website and after an hour or so when I couldn’t get it back online I communicated with Google Nest Support. Laurie the technician was very friendly and we proceeded to try several fixes but nothing doing the unit would not connect to the wifi.

Among some of the fixes I had to remove the unit and re-install it, remove the app from my phone and re-install it and finally after more than 2 hours of trying fixes and then trying them a second time Laurie wanted me to create a whole new network for all my devices within the Nest app and I said that at this point I was done.

Either agree to send me a replacement unit or I will figure something else out and her response was we are not done until she was done with all the steps. Years ago I had a similar problem with the Nest Protect and within minutes we diagnosed the issue and they made arrangements to send me a replacement unit and that happened more than once.

I guess now that they are part of Google, customer service is no longer a priority or important.

The first one lasted 6 years. Replaced with a newer model less than 2 years ago and it died. They can claim they improve the CO sensor to last 20 years all they want. The entire unit does not last this long.

So save your money people and get a 20 $ one. You can get 7 of them and if each of the cheap ones will only last 2 years you still got 15 years worth your money. I bet you though the cheap ones will last waaay longer.

And they do the same thing. Fancy is not necessarily better. So switching back to old school and hopefully we’ll be able to get some eleep tonight after the dam thing kept me up 2 nights, before burrying it under a pile of blankets inside an ottoman at the other end of my home.

Switched out all the smoke detectors in our house to Nest. We bought the hardwired ones and added a few battery operated ones as well. So happy with them!! East to install. The self testing features provide confidence and it’s great being able to check the current status on the app.

Also gives us peace of mind knowing that if something happened while we’re at work and our dog is in the house we get notified and can react immediately. There is also a night light feature that you can select to have off or on in low, med, or high which is quite handy.

The green light flashes on for a few seconds after you turn off the lights, letting you know it’s working and I love that too!.
