20 Best Yankee Candle Car Scent (2023 Updated)

Cute little car fresheners loaded with a sweet beachy scent, although the scent is a bit overpowering when first opened. Like so much so, that you need windows down!! After a few days the scent mellows down and it’s a nice refreshing pleasantly sweet scent.

These jar style car fresheners last much longer than the cardboard style hanging scents, usually 2-3 months. The jar styles are visually more appealing than the cardboard style, as well. The scent fades as time passes but remains nice till totally gone.

I love that Yankee has so many scents a available, I love to switch them up with the seasons. Bahama Breeze is a great summer time scent!.

I love this particular scent for easing my Anxiety at night, it helps me calm down and get ready to fall asleep. I would recommend putting it out before you go to bed, since it can wear the candles wax down significantly.

(The scent will linger in your room even after the flame is out) My recommendation is to never blow the candle out, put the lid back on (so it’s sealed) and let the flame go out on its own. Whenever you blow the candle out it can give off that waxy birthday candle smell which overpowers the original scent and ruins the whole point of it.

Other than that it’s a very pleasant candle to keep around just in case.

All that hype about Yankee candle is true. Well I never believed in car air freshener candles. Two reasons , I have kids I keep my gym shoes and clothes in car So you can guess why my car stinks so much.

I have have bought heavy frangranced perfumes to get rid of odors but it has affected my health. I got this Yankee as a gift and I was like why not give it a try. Well these are the things I notice 1.

Car doesn’t stick as much as it used 2. Opening window for a few sec is enough to get rid of any existing slight odor 3. Not a heavy fragrance that causes headache 4. Lasts longer than spray or the ones that attached to vent What more can you ask for.

Pink sands is one of my favorite scents from Yankee candle, so to be able to have it in my vehicle is wonderful. I have one hanging from the rearview mirror of all of my cars. They smell fantastic, just like the candles.

Having children, there are sometimes things left in my vehicle that I don’t see until it begins to smell, LOL! I can put one of these in my vehicle and any stinky smells are obliterated. They last fairly well, but not as long as I would like.

Nonetheless I will continue to purchase these, because I love the smell of my vehicle‘s when I have them in. .

So last night the wife and I go to Kohl’s for an Amazon return. While there we do a little browsing. I come across the car air fresheners and think. I like good smells I should get one. I look through the selection and see the Yankee Candle Leather scent.

I think. I love the smell of supple leather. I’m going to get this one. We make our purchases and go out to the car. I open up my new scent eagerly wondering how it will smell. The second I open it I get wafted by the smell of a dirty, heavily used ashtray mixed with the faint smell stale alcohol.

Basically if you have ever worked at a bar and cleaned out ashtrays at the end of the night you will know what smell I am describing. I am not sure who works in the “Smells” department at Yankee Candle but that is not in anyway what leather should smell like.

My recommendation. avoid this one by any means possible.

I’m not sure why Yankee wouldn’t sell the scent “leather” in the cardboard jar when everyone on this thread agrees that the cardboard jar smelled stronger and lasted longer than vent clip or the little plastic jar? Part of offering feedback is to heed the customers’ advice.

I’m hoping to see the cardboard ones back in stores soon. It’s not like the scent has been retired or the cardboard jars aren’t made any longer!! Makes no sense.

One of my favorite candles are the yankee so to have it as an air freshener as well in my car is amazing. These candles are definitely expensive but they last forever and their scent does as well unlike many.

The pink sands is a nice fresh scent that isn’t overpowering. I’m eager to try more but not until I get tired of buying this one too often.

I wish I could give this no stars. I didn’t smell anything but for only a couple hours. It was a complete waste of money. This has been the 4th items I’ve purchased that the smell wasn’t noticed and definitely didn’t last.

I will probably not shop with Yankee Candle again.

I personally have loved this scent for a while now, but it wasn’t until I bought the car air freshener that I started getting multiple compliments on it. I have since purchased a variety of candles of the same scent for different friends, probably about 7 or so.

These little car jars are wonderful for small spaces. not just cars. I hang one in my laundry room where the cats litter box is located. It works amazingly well. I also hang one in the front entrance hall to my house.

It isnt overpowering, it just gives a hint of a fresh scent as you enter. This particular scent (Sage & Citrus) is my favorite.

I get these every year when the kids come home with the yankee candle catalog. I like them, they smell nice. I usually get the cinnamon one. They don’t last very long as the wax inside the plastic jar dries out after 2 weeks or so.

But the lanyard is nice because it’s very stretchy so you can hang this anywhere.

Awesome. Smells like coconut tanning lotion. My daughter loves it. Says the release more of a scent than others.

I love the pink island scented one! I get these for my car and they last for about a month at a time. They don’t melt in the summer heat which is fantastic! They come with a little elastic strap so you can hang it easy from your mirror or shifter.

There are so many scents to choose from and pick which is right for you! I love them and recommend them. They’re my first go to air freshener for my car.

These small absolutely amazing. They also have tons of options for different scents. While living in Florida we experienced extreme heat often. At times I did have these melt and the actually outside casing lost shape causing quite a mess.

While living in cooler states I have never had this problem. I will certainly continue to use these. They are my favorite since they do the best job lasting longer than other products and not providing an unwanted overwhelming scent too strong for the space in a vehicle.

I’ve got a pretty good smeller on my face and I take pride in being able to sniff out al the little nuances of scents, foods and chemicals that you might use. This has a powerful smell that permeates through the smell that might already exist in your vehicle.

Which is great, till this smell replaces that smell and everything in your car including you start to smell like a made up scent which definitely smells like somthing you’d put in your car. Could be a better scent, but it does work.

I prefer a different scent, but overall these hanging air fresheners keep your car smelling nice. For a more “multi-use” option, just buy the actual candle and keep it in your cup holder with the lid off.

DO NOT LIGHT THE CANDLE, but at least keep it in your car for the smell. Later if you want, you can bring the candle into your home and light it. But at least you have the smell in your car and your home.

Vent sticks do not last what so ever. You smell them the first 1-3 times you step into your car but after that no good. I don’t think these are worth it. If the scent lasted longer well then absolutely because the initial scent is great but overall not worth the money for 1-3 days of scent.

Reminds me of sipping a cocktail in the sun on a nice beach with crashing waves. This fragrance would be very nice as a as a spray sent as well. Yankee candle is generally pricey but most car washes, gas stations, etc sell it for the average price of other vent sticks.

I generally love yankee candle scents and find that they are strong, but not overpowering, and long lasting. I placed the vent stick in my car and there was absolutely no scent in my vehicle. I will not repurchase or recommend to others.

I really like the scents from Yankee candles so wanted to try the car version. I usually find car fresheners too strong and then disappear quickly. This does neither it has a wonderful fragrance and is still going strong.

Love these car vent sticks! Especially in winter when you have your heaters on, smells that good dont always want to get out the car!

One of the firsts scents I’ve ever purchased form YC was the Pink Sands. I loved it so much, I had it everywhere – candles, odor neutralizers, room sprays. you name it I had it. I recently went in to buy some room spray and saw that these air fresheners were on sale for $1 so I stacked up on them.

You can’t beat that. I’ll choose YC over any B&BW fragrance any day! I tend to used these in my guest bathroom. I hang it behind the toilet paper. **If using it in the car, REAL THE INTRUCTIONS FOR LONGER SCENT.

DO NOT just rip the plastic off and hang. Slow exposure and trim is best to maximize scent’s duration and strength.

Bought this car air freshener along with some others! I actually like to use the air freshener in my bathrooms! I just hang from the water control in back. Product is so attractive I don’t mind if someone sees it.

Okay. so I was the type to try all of the scented trees, car scented tin things and air fresheners to step into a pleasant smelling car as I’ve always hated new car smell. This is the one that melds the best with that car smell and creates a really lovely sweetly freshed scent that I’ve used for 10 years or so now.

I’ve gifted several of these to other people simply unsatisfied with their car fresheners.

Yankee candles are the best. Sure they’re a little pricier than popular brand candles that are found in every day grocery stores. However, the scent of Yankee last until the last burn and smell amazing! That said, this particular scent is a little too strong for me.

It’s a popular scent because it’s been around for years. It’s just too concentrated of a fragrance IMO. Maybe some one with a large home, (rather than my condo) would love it because the scent would be less concentrated.

This is by far my favorite Yankee scent! It is very masculine and it smells like a man’s cologne. I am very attracted to that scent. It’s a very sexy smell. I have used these and the wax melts and I love both.

If the manly scents are the one’s you prefer please try these! They last a month or so and are well worth it!!!.

This is my favorite scent. The vent clips are my favorite. Thought I’d try this since I love the scent but this did not smell past the packaging. What a disappointment. Not sure why this just doesn’t seem to work.

Purchased recently. Big fan of Yankee candles. This product did not live up to expectations and certainly not worth the price synonymous with a premium brand. Hugely dissapointing. Not worth the money.

Live the scent. This is nice for the car, not too strong for a small space and I like that. I ordered a couple more to try in some closets around the house. I like that this doesnt leak like the vent clips might.

The vent clips by fabreze have leaked and damaged my dashboard before. Nervous to try yankee ca dles since its a siniliar design. This is a great alternative.

My favorite reason for choosing Yankee Candles is all four seasons are celebrated. Now it’s fall and Autumn Wreath, Autumn Leaves, etc, etc. (so many) wonderful scents bring back the olfactory memories.

But then again, it will soon be the holidays and the Mistletoe, Balsam and Cedar (all from the Cookie and Pumpkin too) accent the mood and spirit of the season. Then it will once again be Spring and the Lilac Blossom boosts my energy.

Fresh Cut Roses and Sun and Sand for summer are good too. So hard to choose, but my year-round scents are Lavender, Patchouli and Good Air. I appreciate the easy access website, the ease of ordering and the prompt delivery.

This candle captures the perfect scent of fall. It has a wonderful blend of apple, cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, vanilla, and a hint of woods. The scent is noticeable but not over-powering. It takes me back to the days of my childhood and I reminisce of playing in the autumn leaves.

Everyone that comes to visit comments on how much they love the scent. This candle is my all time favorite. It makes me feel warm, relaxed, and comfortable. The color is absolutely beautiful and fully captures the colors of fall.

I bought this a couple of weeks ago. It smells great and isn’t too overpowering like some air fresheners. It’s quite small too, compared to some others, which I also like.

One of the best scents I have come across. The mix of pineapple and coconut is absolutely delicious. Best coconut fragrance, hands down.

Nice smell when one puts in front of nose, but it doesn’t have any fragrance in my my car. I’ve bought a total of 5. Leather (which was empty) Vanilla Cupcake (I gifted) , Home Sweet Home for my small pantry, again non fragrant.

Pink Sands that is still in the package. I feel like I’ve wasted $30. I’ll stick with White Barn/ BB Works car scents.

I received this Black Cherry car freshener in my order. I’ve never bought any type of freshener for my car or for any other place since I never thought I needed one. I use candles and bathroom scent plug-in’s for fragrance.

When I opened the freshener a delightful scent of real black cherries – it was awesome. I was wondering where to place it since there’s no need for in my car. Then I thought placing it inside of the kitchen trash can.

It was a great idea! No more bad smells when it’s opened. I’m going to buy a slew of them now in different scents for different uses (like our cat litter pan area). I *have* to get this Black Cherry in a candle now because it’s really so different – a happy scent and not overly fruity.

This has always been a favorite of mine when you used to carry the tealights!!! And now you cannot find ‘Black Cherry’ tealights ANYWHERE!!!!! (Suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE) In fact, you guys are soooooooo limited in the tealight section PERIOD!!!! Bec tealights were ALWAYS my main purchase!! Pink Sands is by far one of my favorite scents. I like to use it year around. These vent clips are great to keep my car smelling fresh and inviting. They last about a month, and are very affordable. I like to buy them during a sales promotion.

The best yankee scent. This is the only scent I use in my car. I absolutely love getting in and this being the first thing I smell. I think the sticks last longer than any other form of car fresheners.

they make me crave whatever is ‘burning’ lol. It’s certainly an enjoyable scent for the car as it’s not too strong nor does it appear to linger much. Honestly, the first time I rode in the car after he hung it I couldn’t even tell the previous one had been replaced.

The product, itself, doesn’t appear to last 30 days. I’d probably try a different method such as the vent clip but he’s the boss of his car and so I’ll get him what he wants. lol.

if i could give 0 stars i would!! i bought this and the lemon lavender from cvs and was so excited to have my car smelling like vanilla cupcakes. it’s literally been over 2 weeks and my car smells like NOTHING i can’t smell anything even if i put it near the heat!! such a waste of my money i have no idea why it literally has no scent maybe i’m doing something wrong.

i’m not even looking forward to using the lemon lavender one i’m sure that one will smell like nothing too. but i’m extremely disappointed and won’t be buying again!!.
