20 Best Work Shirts For Men (2023 Updated)

Purchased the 2XL because the sleeves on most shirts are too short. The body fits well and the sleeves are of proper/good length. I will frequently wear a long-sleeve in the mornings when it is cool and roll up the sleeves during the day.

These sleeve appear to be designed for people that have very little ‘meat’ on their arms as they cannot be rolled up to the elbow without taking the shirt completely off. I can get about 2 neat folds which brings it to about midway up my forearm.

My arms are not like Popeye the Sailor Man! Maybe a little on the small side. I would rather pay a bit extra for a shirt that I could roll up – a shirt that would be more utilitarian. (Used to be able to do that….

!).

I LOVE the large/tall size – those are THE shirts that I wear, Absolutely perfect for my proportions. I have been trying to buy some more for this fall/winter, but they have been almost entirely out of stock.

I have unsuccessfully kept waiting for them to be restocked, but just recently took the proactive step of calling the company to ask about them and another item that has also been out of stock. I had thought that maybe it was supply chain issues and that I would just have to wait, BUT I was very unhappy to find after talking to the very warm and helpful representative on the phone that these shirts (and the other item) have both been DISCONTINUED! These two items are MOST of the Dickies clothing that I buy and wear – I buy several of each every year.

Please bring back these shirts (AND the flannel-lined workpants (that I also loved!))!! They have been what has kept me a return/repeat customer for many years now. Now I have no choice but to look for similar items elsewhere and buy from another company, and I don’t even WANT to!! I would have left a 5 star rating because I love these shirts, but have only left a 3 star one because of the very disappointing discontinuation.

I purchased two in English Red for my job and have not had any problems with the one. I work overnight freight stocking shelves and frequently handle large boxes of home and garden goods. The shirt still has its buttons with no rips or parting strands.

Even after its first washing and ironing, the shirt is still like new. It’s a really tough shirt and that’s what I’m after. I frequently have to hold boxes close to either my chest and/or stomache, and didn’t have much faith in the sewn on buttons.

But they’ve helped up pretty good. Had a box of floor vinyl graze over the first set and no repair was needed. Truly tough stuff.

The Navy and Gravel (gray) look outstanding on my husband. Thank you for making the Navy actually “Navy” instead of something more like royal blue or just dark blue. These shirts wash well and so far have held their color no matter how I wash them, often in hot or warm instead of cold.

Only two improvements – and to the web site NOT the shirts lol. One, I would love to see a photo taken outside in daylight for the color “Oxblood”. I’m hesitating to order thinking it might lean more toward “brick” than “wine”.

The name seems to have changed from something like “Terra Cotta”, which had too much orange for my husband. I’m looking for something more like “Cabernet”. And two, I would love to get this same shirt in a color like “Sage” or “Green Sea” (not turquoise, not military olive).

I prefer the loose fit to relaxed fit. This type of shirt only comes in relaxed fit and has 2% addition to the 98% cotton. Does not “breathe” as well. However if a situation requires I tuck it in, the relaxed fit looks more professional.

I just spent seven weeks in a truck yard all day. Lighter 100% cotton loose fit was better in hot, humid weather in central Texas APR – MAY. Glad I will be in a better climate JUN – AUG on vacation.

Love these shirts. The weight is just right. I’ve been looking for a work shirt with a heavier fabric–this is substantial but not too heavy. Looks and feels great every time I put one on. I really like the pockets as well.

(Almost too nice to work in!) I am 5’ 5. 5”, 140 lbs and ordered a small. It fits me like a medium and that works for me, and there is comforatable room for a long sleeve t-shirt for cooler working. I’m going to give it 5 stars for durability assuming it wears well like Carhartt”s other products.

My Husband wears ONLY these shirts daily, for work, casual dress, Basically Everywhere we Go!! (short sleeve LT, in Summer) (Long sleeve LT, in Winter. ) Works in construction, builds Houses. ** Always wants the Long tails, so the shirt stays Tucked in.

**These shirts were ALL we could find for the last 30 years that work for him!! Highly recommend to others! I just wish not as expensive to purchase in quantities we need to keep on hand! Been wearing wrangler clothing for 60 years. Since I was a little boy. But I have become very disappointed in the sizing and quality of the material in they shirts and jeans. I would perfer to pay more for the old quality wrangler clothing with better sizing then the cheap junk they are putting out today.

2xl is tight and the sleeves are to short and 3xl is like putting on a tent. Last time a tried on the good 14 oz jeans 38 inch waist was on 34 inches poor quality control there.

First the shirt is engineered to fit. Ample gussets provide free arm raising movement without the shirt following or binding in the chest. The fabric is heavy weight and feels durable while maintaining an “office shirt” appearance typical of an oxford.

The cotton is soft and breaths well. The shirt maintains a surprising coolness in warm weather with the heavy weight feel of the product. The buttons are solid, thick of excellent quality with sewn in spares for both collar and sleeve buttons.

Add in an ingenious inner loop that allows you to hold your pencil in place while still using the full width of the pocket. This is an excellent quality garment and an excellent value considering comfort, quality and longevity.

Was a little scared about ordering these after reading some of the reviews. I usually wear Carhartt and Dickies work shirts. Was looking for something in the middle as far as weight of shirt. Carhartt is heavy and Dickies is light.

These are perfect middle of the road weight! I wear 3xlt and that is what I ordered and they fit perfect! These are now my go to shirts. I go through 6 shirts a year. Work shirts are all I wear. Hopefully these hold up as good as they fit!.

I ordered two of these shirts in the large size. The fabric is nice and the stitching appears to be well done. However, the sizing is quite variable. One shirt fit well, the other didn’t. When compared, one shirt was 3/4 inch wider across the shoulders and the sleeves were a full inch and a half longer.

A little bit of variation is acceptable, but that much variation indicates that quality control is lax and it makes it tough to know what size to order. If you get one of these shirts that fits, you will be happy with it.

But to get one that fits, you’ll have get lucky or you will have to order several and send back the ones that don’t fit.

I ordered two shirts. But, they do not fit like the other colors with the same materials. These two-tone shirts are a size smaller than the single-color shirts. The shirts were returned, but I could not replace them as my correct (larger) size was not available.

I know there are comments about the fit of these shirts. But, I already have several of the single color shirts and had no reason to think the two-tone shirts would fit differently because the materials are identical.

4 star review only is because if you don’t read the reviews of the shirts running 1 size small you will get too small of shirt. Fortunately for me I did read reviews and they are absolutely correct. I have Dickie solid shirts that are going on 3 years old and decided on these.

Same great quality just be sure to get 1 size bigger. The 2xl in this shirt is almost exactly the same as my older XL shirts.

We bought this shirt for my husband to wear to an outdoor wedding last week in PA. (9/17/22). It was warm enough to wear with dress shorts. These shirts wash and wear easy, and come out of the dryer wrinkle free! The wedding was beautiful and my husband looked good.

Washes well- no wrinkles or fuzzies. When I get it dirty most things wipe off with a pat or a couple swipes. The material is almost like a rip stop material, it seems more durable than the standard collared work shirt they offer.

It’s pricey, but I don’t like buying throw aways. That encourages reduced quality from manufacturers to meet lower price points. The extra pocket is odd to me, but maybe it has a use for you. I’ve only had it a week so I can’t speak on durability beyond that.

I expect a years worth of service at this price point, we’ll see.

Best work shirt for physical outdoor tasks. I like the stiffer fabric, as I don’t have to iron it and I can still maintain a level of professional appearance even when I am dying of heat or soaking wet.

DURABLE. Can go through the brush without damage. The zipper pocket is genius. I do wish there were more colors. That’s the ONLY reason I gave it 4 stars. I would love a mauve, or a light blue, or even white.

I would buy it in every color if you did. HINT HINT.

This is a very sturdy shirt. The material is thicker than I expected and the shirt is very stiff even after several washes. The collar took some getting used to because of the stiffness. This is more of an industrial shirt than office shirt.

Because of the thickness it is not breathable so I think it would work well during fall weather. I like how long the shirt is and I also like the sleeve length. It’s a relaxed fit. I have a think mid section so appreciate the way this shirt fits.

I usually wear a medium in carhartt and that’s what I ordered in this shirt and it fits well without the buttons pulling at the breast. Overall I’m happy with the shirt.

Bought this because I deliver to a plant that requires fire resistant clothing to be worn. Didn’t want to wear what they provided and didn’t want to spend a lot of money. I bought a size larger as I wear this over another shirt.

Snaps are nice to get the shirt on and off quickly. Cuffs are snug on the wrists I assume because it is classified as fire resistant. There are snaps on the cuffs, so if I am having trouble slipping my hands out, I can easily undo the snaps.

The price was great compared to other shirts I looked at. Would recommend this to anyone looking for an inexpensive fire resistant shirt.

I work outside, so staying comfortable can sometimes be a challenge. This shirt is lightweight enough that I can wear it for several months of the year when it’s not quite cool enough for a heavier shirt but not quite warm enough for short sleeves.

The fabric is really nice and the fit is perfect for me. I can heartily recommend this shirt to anyone who values comfort.

Very good shirts! Order a size larger and make sure to order the long/tall. If you do this, you will love these shirts. If you don’t, you will be sorry. Shrinkage will happen. Great shirts though!

I ordered two XLT Long Sleeve shirts directly from Dickies, part no. RN20697 CA01095 in early September 2022. They were made in Honduras. A couple of months ago I purchased from a farm supply store two Dickies XLT shirts, same part no.

RN20697 CA01095 that were made in Haiti. They are tight across the chest and also at the arms. The Honduras shirts are much more comfortable than the Haiti shirts. I’ll keep buying directly from Dickies and hopefully keep getting the comfortable shirts.

These uniform shirts are the best. My husband has worn these shirts for several years. He worked in a manufacturing company, got really dirty and greasy, but after washing and drying they came out clean and wrinkle free.

Some people have ask if this is the only shirt he has? We laugh because he loves this style of shirt and has several, all blue pen striped. Long sleeve, yet light enough fabric to wear even in the summer, and the fit is perfect, with longer tail to stay tucked in.

The collar has stays and top stitched, 2 chest pockets with flaps that button. This fall I had ordered 10 new ones but when they arrived they had a different tag on the inside. I washed 5 of them even though they looked a little different from the ones he has had in the past.

He said they don’t feel the same as my old ones. After looking closer I saw some differences. After talking with customer service I found out that I hadn’t ordered the “Deluxe” Uniform Shirt. So after sending them back and getting the right ones my husband is very pleased with his new shirts.

I will always remember to get the “Deluxe”. Thank you for a very professional customer service person to speak with and your superior quality in this product.

My boyfriend is a chef and he has tried every work shirt under the sun. For some reason he just loves this one! I buy him a few every couple of months to keep him stocked up. He loves the way it fits, the collar, and his favorite aspect is the button style.

Will keep ordering for the forseeable future.

These shirts are pretty durable and work extremely well as a long term work shirt. The worst that can be said about them is they will eventually shrink slightly after many months of washing, but they handle dirt and sweat very well.

Buying a size larger makes for good CCW shirts also.

I have been wearing these shirts for about 5yrs and absolutely love them. I do construction of all sorts and they stay tough threw it all. Everything from yard work to working on the pipeline and welding.

I have tried all sorts of other shirts over the years and they just don’t hold up to how tough I am on them. These shirts have been threw it all and stay strong. Light weight enough to wear on the hottest summer day and not sweat like a hog.

My friends ask me all the time if I even own any other shirts because all I wear are these. After five years I ordered 5 more shirts but by no means will I retire the original 5 yet. They have plenty of life left in them to continue working, as a matter of fact I’m wearing one right now.

I work in power generation, and the company issues what they would consider a uniform. Cheap tshirts. I’ve always prided myself on a professional appearance. Thanks to Red Kap and their products I am able to meet the companies requirements for shirt color and labeling.

These are the best wearing and comfortable mechanics shirts I have ever had. I’ve known other uniform companies to use Red Kap products and felt that they might be too costly for the individual. I am thankful that there are still companies out there like Red Kap that take pride in producing a product with quality and craftsmanship.

I really enjoy this shirt. I ordered it for Halloween (I customized the nameplate) and it is super comfortable. I will definitely wear this regularly to work, because no one will care. It’s very high quality material and it doesn’t really warm when I’m working.

The only complaint I have is that I feel like it runs just a little small, but it’s really not a big deal for my uses.

Good things first – this shirt is way more comfortable than a normal men’s dress shirt. For one thing, it flexes! No more worrying about busting a seam just by moving your arms around. You can also get your hand through the cuff without unbuttoning it.

It’s not too see-through; you’ll still want to wear an undershirt just because you should, but you could probably get away with not doing it if that’s more your speed. The fit is pretty good; I like that you can specify slim vs.

normal (and even the normal isn’t too voluminous). Because of the stretchy material, even if your neck size is a bit big for the rest of your size (as in the case of my husband), you can still manage to close the last button and not choke yourself in the process.

Potential improvements: yes, there are two fits, but I’d like to see more (or maybe just more customization – be able to specify sleeve length and neck width as well as overall shirt size). My husband has broad shoulders and a big head (which means larger neck), but the rest of him is normal sized.

He basically wears a large in neck and shoulders and a medium in everything else, which makes him hard to shop for. Other than that, I can’t think of any improvements – this is a game changer for summer weddings/formal events where you know you’re going to get sweaty and there’s nothing you can do about it! Also all those wedding photos that have you doing weird things like holding the groom up – this shirt allows more movement so you can actually do stuff like that.

I used to rush home to remove my white dress shirts after a work conference session or church. Not anymore. I love my &Collar shirt way too much. I haven’t worn another white dress shirt since I got it, and I’m never going back.

It’s very comfortable and breathable. I got one because I lead church music for children every Sunday, which involves a lot of movement and games. I would be super uncomfortable and usually have some sweat (it’s a small room), and it would just make the dress shirts feel worse.

With &Collar, I barely break a sweat and my shirt doesn’t stick or anything like it. Only reason I’m not giving it 5 stars is because the shirt is not ink-stain resistant, and there isn’t really a solution if you get an ink stain.

I bought an ink stain remover for normal shirts after messaging &Collar on Facebook and learning that they don’t have any solutions other than some homemade mixtures, which I applied but didn’t totally work.

The stain is more faded now, but still present. It’d be great if they created a cleaning solution you could buy for the stains that it’s not resistant to.

This is a great dress shirt. And yes, I poured water on my husband’s arm to check its claim to being resistant. It was fun to watch the water bead and roll off the shirt. We were also impressed with the lightweight quality of the fabric; we recently moved to a humid area and are hoping this shirt holds up well to that! The true test of its breathability will come in a few months when the weather heats up.

I tossed the shirt in the dryer when I first opened the packaging and the creases came out pretty well. However, I don’t think my husband hung it up after wearing it for pictures and it needed another dryer run for church the next day.

And while I would have preferred that he put his shirt away after wearing it for 5 minutes, I was also hoping it wouldn’t wrinkle right up if casually folded instead of hung. Overall, I think we’re pleased with the purchase and will be back! Oh, I’m also glad I checked the measurements and fit before I ordered.

When I went with those instead of the usual small, medium, and large portions, I got a better fitting shirt.

need to mention in description that these shirts need ironing. other than that I am very pleased with them. lightweight, good fit, durable.

The shirts were a size too small. My regular size is XXL , this was much smaller, would not fit properly could not wear . Felt it was a waste of my hard earned money .

The shirt didn’t fit as well as I wanted it to but that just give me a little motivation to stay fit.

Material is very comfortable, if a little warm for summer work outdoors. Left pocket closes by Velcro, and opens to drop things in with a little too much effort, needing two hands most times. Pocket is also too shallow for securing reading glasses, for example.

Overall, a high quality garment, and a good value if on sale.

The pitmasters at my restaurant love these shirts. It looks like the sizes are being phased out just like the women’s version. Please do not discontinue these shirts. We love them at my restaurant.

I thought I had selected a cotton shirt and did not question the price based on that, but it turned out to be polyester/cotton. The shirt is made to a high standard and looks fine, but it is not as comfortable as a 100% cotton version would be.

I perform maintenance for USPS and I love these shirts for work. Having worn both these and the thicker Dickies Work Shirts that are made primarily from cotton (LS307) I will choose these first. The material is lighter but seems to be more durable.

Where my LS307 work shirts have developed small pinholes from the chemicals I work around occasionally, the LS535’s are still going strong. Also these seem to be less likely to stain due to the larger balance of synthetic materials.

My only complaint is one that is stated often with any of these style shirts from Dickies and that is they run small on sizes. I usually wear a large and it is too tight in the shoulders restricting movement.

So I have to buy an XL for proper fit. My only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars.

I have been purchasing Dickies shirts for years but the shirt I received from Walmart was not the same as the shirts I had. The material does not feel the same as the previous shirts, the pockets have no flaps and I had problems with the button holes on the sleeves.

The buttons went in the button holes, but when I tried to remove them from the holes they both got caught on the threads. I only hope that these are not an indication of the way Dickies is going for the future.

They need to stick to the older shirts which held up, felt good and were better made. This shirt felt cheaper.

As a +350 guy breathable shirts are hard to find, other than Hawaiian Shirts. The Poly/Cotton blend of this shirt makes breath nice and feels light. Dickies makes quality work gear, and I have been buying these style shirts for years.

*One side note, I would buy a size up or two from what t-shirt size you wear. Example I wear a Reebok 3X t-shirt, and I bought a 5X of this shirt. 4X would probably be fine, just depends on your gut size I guess.
