This has been an awesome purchase, light is bright, consistent and beam direction is linear so very easy to inspect the surface. I’ve also used it under the hood and it works great especially with the magnetic base.

Well worth the premium price!.

Great portable light for paint correction. Battery life is amazing, lightweight and really handy magnetic grip. I have a mobile service so the light colour adjustment for different places is really useful.

Not as easy to hand hold as expected as they weigh a bit. Nice and bright and time left gauge is nice touch. Light spread is very sharp at edge. Great for defect spotting

This is almost the perfect light. In either mode it provides bright light without being blinding like the halogen firestarters and their LED successors. I use this everywhere: on the job site, working on my vehicle, working in the yard, and even camping! This is brighter than a Coleman lantern, yet I can take it into my tent.

Kudos to the designer who created the trouble light to 360° rotation. It is also fairly compact, even more so than the M12 version, all things considered. The USB charger is a nice touch, and the auto shut-off is helpful for maintaining standby battery life.

My only minor gripe is that it’s somewhat unstable when standing it up on a traditional M18 battery. No problems with the High Output versions, but why use that on a light? Bottom line: buy this. It is versatile and provides good, bright light.

I’ve owned this for years. It does pretty good, the 360 feature is good but takes too much light away from the original direction for my liking. The only bad thing about this light is the material the lens is made out of.

I had to use it to paint in a dark area. So with the light in one hand and hvlp gun in the other I did just that. I got some overspray on the lens. Tried to remove it with laquer thinner but the plastic turned all milky and foggy.

I can’t get it back to clear as before. Other than that it still works but not puts out less light due to the lens. Not a fault of the light but I wish the lens were replaceable or made to be cleaned.

I was reading another review (I think it was on here) where someone said something about how they somehow overlooked these and had never seen them before. I too had never seen them and was pretty stoked.

This light’s exterior design is A grade for sure. Something about how the square battery meets the body and then the graduation into the tube housing the light. whichever industrial designer was working this day needs to stand up and tell the world lol.

None of that matters if the product isn’t any good though right? Well it shines in aesthetics just as well as it does in features and lumens. It’s bright, has a realllllly cool pivoting led system that switches the light from lantern to floodlight.

Oh, and it charges your USB devices surprisingly fast too!? I went and bought this the same day I read someone else’s review and they weren’t wrong. It is incredible.

As the photos show below, the light illuminates a pretty large area. It does telescope up 7′ and the directional head allows the light to be easily aimed. The way the unit folds up for transportation it is relatively easy to carry up a ladder–even two story buildings.

We are a commercial roofing company that offers 24/7 repairs. This light is indispensable. With two of these lights, one on each side of our roof repair area, a huge area is illuminated well enough to do detailed repair jobs.

Another feature I love is the warning it gives prior to needing a new battery. It intermittently flashes for about 15 minutes before a battery is drained. The only thing it lacks is the ability to plug in a power cord.

That would make it much more convenient than changing out batteries. I HIGHLY recommend this light. P. S. We also have a DeWalt DCL070 light that looks like a fire hydrant. I really dislike this light because it is so heavy we can not carry it up a ladder for roof repairs.

Also, the DCL070 does not telescope up like the DCL079B.

This is one of those tools you don’t think about until you need it. While working late into the night in various buildings you need this tripod Light! Cut the power to move a wall or demo and now you are racing the sun.

After months of using small flashlights to light up my workspace at night, I finally bought this tripod light. WOW! what a difference. Much safer working environment.

Great light, powerful and small enough to store out of the way when not needed. I haven’t fully exercised this light but the few small projects I have worked on, this provides plenty of light for any size room.

Also works as a great secondary source of light during power outages, lighting up the entire downstairs in my home.

After having a “yellow brand” 12v flashlight I figured the Milwaukee would do a better job (I prefer Milwaukee by far having used their tools for 40+ years). 1st-the flashlight is mediocre in comparison to the “yellow brand”.

It has 2 1/2 times the lumens. why? 2nd-the magnet. I have nothing good to say about it. It is weak at best, and only holds the light in 1 position. Your engineers need to go try the “yellow brand”. 3rd-as another reviewer said, you can’t lay it down and expect it to stay where you put it.

I will add to that that you can’t stick it to anything and expect it to stay there either-I had the wind blow it off a couple of times! 4th-I used to hook the “yellow brand” on my pocket occasionally as that was how I needed the light-can’t do that with this one-no belt clip.

It is also harder to carry until needed without a belt clip. I gave it 2 stars ONLY because it does work as a not so bright area light and that I have so many M12 tools I always have a fresh battery.

I would like to ask this-if you read these reviews and reply to them like you care, why don’t you make the changes? Some of your reviews are MANY years old-old enough for the changes to have been made.

What prompted me to write this review? Now the switch has gone out on one and I have been aggravated enough!.

I have had 3 work lights over the years and while the brightness has greatly improved, the ergonomics of the light has gotten worse on each new version. The ergonomics was best on the light you made about 15 years ago.

The on/off switch was on the back and the head would pivot past 90° so you could have light on the part you are working on while its on a benchtop. The latest version has a bright LED light but the front switch is easy to accidently turn it off when you grab the light, and the head only pivots 90°.

It’s frustrating to have to find something to put under the light so it will tilt and shine on your benchtop when a simple design change would allow the head to pivot past 90°. Move the switch to the back and allow the head to pivot more and you would have the perfect light.

Do your designer actually use the tools they design? If so, they would immediately see the improved user experience these changes would bring.

Since I have all these easily charged up M12 batteries, I figured that I should buy a compatible flashlight, because I always have flashlights with dead batteries in them around the garage. I picked this one, because it was the simplest and least expensive.

It does what I need it to do, but if I could do it again, I’d pick something else. I’d say the thing I like least is the magnet. It isn’t very strong and it looks just like the on/off button. Both are square, black, and in the middle of the tool.

Often, I find myself accidentally pressing it and then frustratingly searching for the real button. Also, I’m not a big fan of the swivel head. It has nine positions and is very wobbly. I feel like three firm positions would have been sufficient.

Finally, I think the shape could have been thought out better. It’s roundish, I guess to comfortably fit the shape of your hand, but when you set it on a shelf above you to shine down, it tends to teeter or roll where it wants to be.

I must say, it’s durable, plenty bright, fits comfortably in my hand, and I like that the button only turns it on or off. I find it to be a nuisance, when I press the button of a flashlight expecting it to turn off, but instead it dims multiple times or flashes.

I don’t care for that annoying feature.

It’s incredible how these little lights can be so powerful. I wish they didn’t need batteries, but they last for long. I will buy chargeable batteries tho. I went camping in the Florida Everglades and it is very dark at night.

The light is not pure white and the clamp is not super stable. Except from those, it is a good product. It has magnets. After adding batteries, it is not as light weighted as before. But still not too heavy.

To begin, the 6ft cord, it is assumed you have an extension cord to begin since 6ft will get you nowhere while working on a car. The 25ft cord version costs another $25, so you may as well buy the extension cord separately and have it on hand when you need it for other things.

I already have a nice, long extension cord so I figured I’d save the money and buy the 6ft corded version. This way I don’t have batteries to worry about leaking, dying, etc. The corded version is appropriate for most jobs, because nearly any instance I need light, I have power nearby.

The battery life on the battery models lasts 4hrs tops while in flood mode, which most people use when working on cars. The magnets are a nice feature and the hook on the top comes on/off with a strong magnet.

It doubles as a handy tool grabber for those instances you drop your wrench and your fat hands cannot reach it. I purchased this since I volunteer at a car repair organization for the needy, basically fix cars in an area underserved by public transit.

There’s always a shortage of light when I volunteer so I got this to bring along and have my own light source while 3-4 people are working on various parts of the car. There’s never too much light while working on cars.

I think my favorite option is halogen flood lights, but they become scorching hot, and are difficult to maneuver. This has a good mix of flexibility, plenty of light, can be placed in most spots, and is easy to use.

My only tip is to do a knot when you attach the extension cord to the light because it is prone to detaching, especially when you move the light around a lot.

Excellent brightness with a small outside diameter to fit in tight areas, which is why I took a chance on this unit. The magnet on the back (opposite side of power switch) has people Ben helpful. My only complaint is the magnet holding the hook becomes detached easily.

Ive had to retrieve stranded/stuck hook from wires and hoses.

It isn’t all that bright compared to a traditional droplight with a 100-watt incandescent lamp, but it’s adequate for confined spaces where the 100w droplight is too bright and too hot. Like working under the kitchen sink.

The cord is very stiff, which can be awkward. This is a big problem in use. If I got another such light, I would buy it with the 6-foot cord, and install my own 25-foot cord using a better grade of SJO rubber portable cord.

The magnetic hook is a joke — it promptly attached itself to some part of the machine I was working on, and was lost the first time I used the LED worklight. I have not bothered to retrieve the hook.

A traditional steel hook would be more useful. An alternative is to get a traditional droplight and install a 75-watt edison-base LED light (I prefer Philips) in place of the incandescent lamp.

My first impression out of the box is like other reviews, seems well built and sturdy. The thumb clamps, telescoping post and legs work nicely. Set up and breakdown are a piece of cake. It should travel and store easily.

There is a sweet cord wrap that includes a termination point to clamp the plug in place instead of futilely wrapping the plug in a half knot around itself and having it dangle loose. Also included is an hex wrench to adjust the light heads if needed, with a cool magnetic storage place right next to where you need it.

The lighting head lacks a bit of adjustability compared to some other models, but doesn’t take anything away from the quality of this light. Ok, time to address the elephant in the room. This thing is as bright as I imagine a solar flare to be.

I have no doubt eye contact with this for more than an instant will cause sight damage. I have a 7000 lumens job light I have been using that is perfectly adequate brightness. I figured the extra 2000 lumens would be gravy.

Oh boy is it ever. I haven’t used this on the job site yet (I am a painting contractor) but look forward to it. This will be in use every day and I will update in a few months as to its durability and practical function.

But right now I love the light. Super bright and thoughtfully engineered. 10/10.

I had a similar older Halogen floor standing work light and this thing is way better! My old one put out so much heat that you could easily burn yourself on the housing. Not only does this LED lamp not put out lots of heat but it seems much brighter than my older Halogen Lamp with two 500W bulbs.

I’m not able to do a direct comparison since both of my Halogen bulbs are shot and is the reason I purchased this one. It is also easily adjustable to get the light right where you need it. No screws to loosen for adjustment simce it uses a friction system to hold both lamps in the direction you point them.

You can even have one lamp pointing one direction and the other pointing the exact opposite. It’s also has very stable legs and is easily adjustable for height. Finally, the carry handle is very comfortable.

I got this for my parents laundry room in the basement. It shines brighter than the two ceiling lights in there combined. Price is amazing. I compared a lot of lights before choosing this one. Definitely the right choice.

You arent going to get as good a light for this price. DONT ACCIDENTALLY LOOK INTO THE LIGHT!! Boy, was that a terrible mistake to make when I was first positioning the light. We have had no trouble with the cord or the on/off toggle.

OK folks, its a little 12v light, its not gonna light up a whole room. however, I seldom need that. These do double duty as work lights when I need ’em and as hurricane/emergency lights on standby. I got two of these and a 20v light, plus batteries and charger in a nice deWalt bag, set away for lights-out time, should a storm come.

In between, when I’m out in the pump-house or in the attic or. y’know. places its too dark to see well enough to work, I drag out the light bag and make the problems go away.

This is the best light I have ever ever ever had. Battery last for ever and when it does finally die I can change it out with my Dewalt drill battery and then charge it. The light is very bright adjust to just about any angle and magnetic.

Great to take in the Travel Trailer. Good job Dewalt, but I think they stopped making them.

Having both 12 volt and 20 volt DeWalt tools, this was an easy add-on for around $30. I probably use it at least once a day for getting into dim areas in my workshop, and rely on it to always be ready.

Well, this week the switch started to get “fussy”, and seemed to need some jiggling everytime I went to turn it on. I begin to feel angry that this tool was on it’s way to the trash bin so soon after purchasing!.

So I searched the Home Essentials Direct reviews to see if others had the same issue with the DeWalt flashlight, and there I realize (see) that I had this flashlight for 9 years! Nine years for a tool that I use almost everyday, and I rethink my opinion: definitely a 5 star buy!.

Wow, the first time I turned this on I was just looking straight into the light when I turned it on. BLAM! Now that’s one bright light! No complaints here. But don’t be a dumdum and look at the light when you turn it on.

This is so easy to use that I gave one to my elderly mother. It’s just one button (and a nice LARGE button on the side). Press once and both lights turn on, press again and one turns off, press again and then the second one turns on and the initial one turns off, click again and they both turn off.

It is LITERALLY just ONE button! The design is fantastic. It’s very easy to maneuver. I love that it takes batteries so that I don’t have to keep recharging it once a week. (This isn’t chargeable. it strictly uses batteries which is great).

I love the silicone around it so that it doesn’t scratch furniture. I have one near my bed for reading at night. I love how you can stand it up or carry it around if you put the two legs together. ONLY ONE COMPLAINT (and this goes for MANY devices from various companies).

i CAN’T OPEN THE BATTERY COMPARTMENT. I had to have my hubby do it. We’re sending people into space, but they can’t make it easy to open a battery compartment? Why do companies stick with the same design to open battery compartments that they had when I was born in the 1960s.

Even my hubby with his very short nails and stubby fingers couldn’t open the two battery compartments without a quarter (that’s a coin that we used to use to pay for items–like a dollar bill).

DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS ITEM. I’m shocked at how great a design this is and how easy it is to use. But come on man, make an easy opening for the batteries. That would make this item totally groovy! And I LOVE the fact that this comes in colors.

I bought to use as a task light and as additional lighting for photos and Zoom calls. The light is super bright and perfect for my craft projects. I love how I can use one half or the whole light. I also love the handle/stand.

I can put the light at an angle and it stays. My husband swiped the second light and put it in his office for Zoom calls and online conference calls. We have tried the circle lights designed for social media recording without great success.

This handy light works perfectly! It lights up the room so his clients can see him on camera. He also uses the light to aid the flash on his cell phone camera for product pictures. Of course he isn’t looking for professional grade photos but better than the quality from just using a cell phone camera.

We were shocked at how much better his photos look. I highly recommend these lights. They really are handy. The price is fantastic, especially for two lights.

I ordered several of these to use for holiday gifts last year, and kept one for myself. My brother, who is a flashlight connoisseur, was impressed!!! Ha! He used it a lot during summer camping trips.

I am working on a house remodel, and use this light in closets and tight corners to illuminate when I am painting and changing out hardware on kitchen cabinets. It has been terrific; it throws a lot of light while the batteries are strong.

I’ve used it for MANY hours over the last 9 months, and have not had to change batteries yet! Its flexibility makes it very versatile. The only drawback I noticed is a weird sort of “line” that is cast on the wall or cabinets from the reflectors in the light.

In spite of that, I would order it again.

I ran runtime tests on this tripod light (DCL079B) with 2 different 20V Max battery sizes (4Ah & Ah). Published runtimes only stated “lowest brightness” runtime of 11 hours on 4 or 5Ah battery. I did not pay this kind of money to run the light on a reduced performance setting of 5 year old technology, so here is my personal experience on Highest brightness.

Both battery tests were conducted with a hand-held light meter, and brightness did not diminish at all the entire time, until automatically throttling back to lower setting at end of test. 8Ah new 20V Max battery, after 1st full charge.

Runtime was 3:45:47 before light flashed on and off twice, then reduced to a lower brightness. I think this new battery needed to be exercised into “full capacity” a few cycles, but these runtime results were after only it’s 1st full charge.

4Ah 9 month old 20V Max battery, charged a total of 6 times since new, and fully charged 6 hours before test. Runtime was 2:05:10 before automatically reducing to a lower brightness. Please be sure to store your lithium ion batteries at less than 100%, say 50%.

This battery chemistry is unlike prior battery technologies. This will yield full capacities for more years. This is a great light, and I would definitely recommend. I gave 4 stars for durability, only because I read so many bad reviews on the plastic leg hinges.

This may have been corrected since the reviews I read, as I have not experienced any trouble with them yet. The light head DOES pivot, unlike one review saying it doesn’t. Is a little stiff, but there is a screw to loosen up a bit.

I have 2 of these lights and use them all the time. The setup is easy and the light is far sturdier than any other tripod light that i have ever used. It does not knock over easily, and i actually use it to hold my trailer door on occasion when the wind keeps shutting it on me.

The height is very good for me even though i am tall – sure, i get it, ideally the light is directly over your head when working – but this isnt really realistic and you have to expect to move a work light around as needed to keep it out of your eyes.

I like the one button set up versus some of the others that require knobs, multiple legs etc. It puts off a ton of light, and using them in a pair to prevent shadows is very ideal and easy to do. Despite the fact that i have invested heavily in these lights and have plenty of reasons for doing so, i still have a complaint and a really big and super annoying one.

This light is very bright – it uses a lot of power and will drain batteries pretty quickly, to the point its annoying. I have about 40 batteries, but seriously do i want to be changing them all the time plus cycling them and wearing them out? i have more to do than that.

I would say i only get about 2. 5-3 hrs on a 6ah, and the 4ah just about wear down faster than the next one can charge. The technology existed years ago for this to be a corded/cordless tool with a power out – dewalt had this on their old DCL061 which i also own.

Awesome design, worth the money, but im still annoyed i cant plug it in when i need to use it all day. Clearly if there is no 110v power i wouldnt complain about batteries, but trying to use this on a daily basis caused me to go buy a 100.

00 corded work light which takes up more room in my trailer and gives less versatility (sigh. ) Had the light came with a 110v plug and a outlet just like is on the dcl061 I would be able to daisy chain them adding versatility and freeing up that space again in my trailer.

It’s bright and quick to set up. It eats batterys. Milwaukee has it made with the ability to plug in as well as use batterys. I can overlook the excessive battery usage but when the light was just over a year old the pcb went bad and I would have to pay $40 shipping and authorize $110 in order to get it repaired under warranty.

That’s $150 for a light I bought for $170 on sale. Very disappointed with dewalt on that.

This small light has very useful features for working on vehicles and its light output, although not very bright, is adequate when directed at the proper location. Lamp Features gets the most points: lightweight, magnets at bottom and body to stick to various car surfaces, top hook to hang, light portion pivots so lamp body can be in fixed position and light point at where you need it.

Has side lamp as the picture shows and end beam, but doesn’t make a good flashlight. Sale price of approx. $5 brings makes it a cheap buy. Fell on the garage floor once from 35″ height. Battery door tabs broke off, so durability gets a 0.

3xAA batteries means endless dead batteries, so no positive points here either. Had I paid $8 and got something that could survive in the amateur garage environment and a durable or rechargeable power feature and a little more bright lighting, this thing would peg the recommendation meter.

As is, it is a cheap/non-durable light where good thought went into its utility.

I was carrying a maglight in the trunk of my car, and it served well for years. The problem – it went thru batteries pretty fast and was sorta-bright. I picked one of these up for another vehicle I only drive occasionally, and when I got it home I fired it up in a dark garage – INSTANT DAYLIGHT.

It has a run time estimate on the package for full flood light, medium flood light (still blindingly bright) and LED flashlight. As you might expect, the battery life increases as you light up less LEDs.

The magnetic base is a bonus and works better than you would think. I found the perfect place to carry mine was magnetically stuck to the underside of the package tray. When you open the trunk, the flashlight is right within arms reach, and also not taking up space on the floor of the trunk.

I now own 3 of these ;o).

I use this LED for multiple applications at home and in the garage. Fantastic price point, very powerful and sturdy. The swivel mount (hard to see it in photos) gives this light amazing flexibility for various spaces and angles when mounted.

Magnets on the back and stronger one’s on the bottom. The hook is a simply a plus! Note to HF: the top light is very weak. Not even sure what purpose is serves. pinpoint lighting? And the 2 click adjustment for the vertical light is weak and doesn’t seem to change values, if at all.

Simplify to ‘ON’ + ‘OFF’ and keep the price the same or drop it for select SALE days. Still, a nice buy and very useful. 5 stars.

I love this light! I recently purchased this light and used it while I was working on a project in my back yard. The light has three brightness levels and they all provide plenty of light. I used it mostly on the medium brightness and it was more than enough.

I was out there for almost three hours and I left the light on the whole time. I used a 2ah battery for this and it didn’t start to go dim or flicker during use, which seems to be a trend with rechargeable lights (it drives me crazy).

Another great perk is if you already have hart tools you will have plenty of battery life anyways. It has a spot on it designed to clamp to a 2×4 if needed and the head pivots to allow the best angle.

I found many creative ways to use that to my advantage. Another design perk I noticed is the placement of the battery makes it very stable when you just want to set it somewhere, even if you adjust the light at a downward angle it holds steady.

The way they designed the LED board allows this little light to to spread the light over a wide area and still maintain the brightness (if that makes sense). I bought my first heart tools almost two years ago and have used them all very often.

My drills have had all kinds of workloads put on them and they are still going like they’re brand new. The batteries are on the same level as my drills. If this light is anything like the rest of my hart tools I know I’m going to be very happy with this thing for a long time.

I strongly recommend Hart tools and like I said in another review…. The fact that Walmart sells it makes this brand even better. If you need anything for this product, you know a Walmart isn’t too far away.

p. s. I’m already eyeing my next hart purchases, a Hart vacuum and the 2 gallon air compressor. I’ll keep you guys posted!.

My favorite. then why only 4 stars? The MAGNET. #1 – is too weak, it doesn’t hold the light securely – for example, when attached to the side of a water heater #2 – is located such that if you have a larger battery (higher AH) installed it cannot attach (the battery sticks out farther than the magnet) This is such a great flashlight otherwise.

– Rotating head, rotates to any direction. – – – and stays there, no “drooping” – Metal “kickstand” allows the flashlight to stand “on end” – Metal kickstand also allows hanging the light – LED bright but low-power.

Runs continuously 8+ hours on a 1. 5 AH battery (which is a really low-power, small battery in the 20V Max line) BUT. there are just so many times I want to stick that puppy on a metal surface, and it’s such a hassle with that weak magnet.

The magnet is also NOT coated, which means that it’s a potential source of scratches on the customer’s metal. I’m considering modifying the flashlight with a more powerful, coated magnet, positioned in a more useful location.

Maybe I’ll remove the belt hook – which I never use – and put the magnet there.

Bought this in October 2019 for $35 from Amazon. I totally love this light for working on vehicles, and anywhere it is darkish. Fast forward to the beginning of this year when we lost power in a snow storm – this light was awesome in lighting up the house at night.

So much so my wife asked me to get another one. So, I went to Amazon and went to “buy again” only to see that it is $130! – cheapest website I can find it is $76! No battery included. Why? Is it discontinued? If so, why doesn’t it say that anywhere? If it is discontinued – what is the replacement?.

Dewalt’s 20v work light lineup continues to baffle me. Frankly none of their lights have that Goldilocks quality for me. It’s like they thought through the design about 90% and then stopped. This light has a lot of positives.

The build quality is what you expect from the other 20v platform tools. Solid but unexceptional. The light output is bright. Given the rated lumens I expected to be underwhelmed but it’s plenty for a small work light.

This work light is IMO the most versatile in DeWalt’s catalog. There are innumerable ways to position or affix it, between the magnets, the various sides, and the hanging hook. I particularly like that the hanging hook can snap down 180 degrees to form a ‘leg’ and allow the light to stand up on edge.

Once it’s positioned, you can then rotate the head in just about any direction to get light on your work. However, all these features make for an oddly proportioned light. It doesn’t fit in your hands, even if you’re Sasquatch.

There’s no comfortable way to carry it as a flashlight. It strictly makes sense as a *work light* that you position close to your work to give area light. So to me, it makes zero sense that this is designed to provide a tight *spotlight*.

It should give a wide, diffuse beam suitable for close quarters work. As it is I often have to constantly adjust it so I have enough, but not too much, light on what I’m working on. With a design change to make this give a wide, nicely diffused beam this would be an easy 5 star product.

Charge lasts forever, battery lasts forever, light is bright! Its perfect for assisting stranded motorists, I carry it in my Police Cruiser.

This is the 2nd one I have purchased, 1st one is going on 3 years and has never let me down when I need light.

I normally don’t give a five star rating for a light but I can’t give this one anything less than five stars! It’s amazing how much light this little tool puts out and it’s great that Dewalt put two brightness settings in the switch.

It’s great on battery life and doesn’t put off any heat, what more can I say!? I’m already waiting on my next three to arrive. I have several of the lights from tool kits, and they work just fine but this bad boy blows them all out of the water.

! A must have for dark jobs or constant use. Truly amazing. Dewalt, thank you for another great addition to my collection of yellow and black power tools, now over 200 tools strong and growing. If they keep making tools like this, I’ll have no choice but to purchase from Dewalt as usual.

I have only been disappointed once and that tool was probably made first thing on a Monday morning when everyone was still hungover lol. That’s not bad considering that I’ve been in commercial construction work for 15 years.

I still have some of the old 18v tools that work just fine(look like they’ve been hit by a train).

I’ve had one of these for 6 months and used it to finish boarding my loft and also for when working in the garage. It’s very bright on the high setting and will use battery quite fast – I only use a 3Ah in mine.

On the low setting battery lasts for the 2 to 3 hours I need – and still has more runtime if needed. Handy hook on it – but only hangs vertically. If you need the light above you but shining down you’ll need something to sit it on and then angle the head.

Tip: Make sure you get a Type 2 version if you can. The Type 1 is 250 to 500 Lumen. The Type 2 is 300 to 1000 Lumen.

I’m a JOURNEYMAN Electrician & if l have to get into hard to reach or access areas it’s always a hassle to run an extension cord for a worklight. Sometimes there’s no power available to run a cord for a work light & a flashlight is difficult to position on the target in order to work on it not to mention the fact that a flashlight eats batteries.

W/this worklight I have all my batteries on hand that I use w/all my Dewalt tools which are rechargeable & saves me a fortune. In conclusion, I have many different options to position this worklight whether it’s tilting the lights head while standing it upright or, hanging it from a point overhead & aiming it at the area I need to work on.

The light is nice and bright, and the combination of the four usage methods (1 – magnet mount, 2 – standing upright, 3- hanging from the hook, 4 – holding in hand) easy to place where light is needed when working.

As long as you place it on a magnetic surface that is large enough to cover the enture base, the magnet effectively supports the weight of the light without it falling / tipping or slipping from where you place it.

However, it also eats batteries pretty quickly (it starts to dim in about an hour of use and goes down from there), and the quality of the silver grate that covers the front of the light is a cheap plastic.

A couple sections of the silver grate have already broken off even though I am fairly careful with it. For the price, I am pleased with the light, but have to take off a star for how it eats batteries, and another star for the cheap front grate.

I am not confident I will get the longevity from the light that I would hope to. If you can get it on sale, and need a basic light that can affix via magnet, hook, or standing, this might fit your needs, but understand this is not a high-quality / high durability light.

Bright light, However intensity fades quickley. Charge time is short. Like the magnetic bottom and the built in stand. Good price for what it is suited for (short timer and disposable) longer charge would be better, but probaly cost more.

With the hook and the magnetic base, this light can be useful in a huge number of ways. It is super bright and being leds the batteries last much longer than in a regular flashlight. Great for working on a car engine especially.

I use mine all the time and am very happy with the purchase. Im buying some for Christmas presents.

the shade isn’t connected to anything. it is held in place. once u put a bulb in the socket. so the weight of the shade is on the bulb. I have had two bulbs ” pop” and shatter on my work space while I was trying to adjust the lamp.

Idk if all of them are like this but it seems to be a pretty sloppy design. I have also left the lamp on and come back to find it is off and had to take out the bulb and put it back in to get it to work.

if the thing doesn’t electrocute me I will be surprised.

I like the that the light turns on when the switch is pushed and the price was low. I did not like the fact that the aluminum housing has as much rigidity as an aluminum can. Both lights I received were packed well but still managed to get mangled during shipping (thin aluminum housing).

The housing is also very shallow which means your light bulb may protrude past the housing and could get damaged very easily so I would not recommend for working in tight spaces with it. For that I would use a work light with a cage on it if using incandescent lightbulbs.

Otherwise there are many led options out there.

I have several of these. They work well with Walmart’s Great Value 100W equivalent LED lamps, and I have started using them to replace older plug-in, 48 inch fluorescent light fixtures. Also, they are useful for product photography and portable task lighting.

As usual with this type, one always wishes that the spring clamps would hold better, but these are better than most I’ve had in the past.

Although these lights are advertised for use in construction and repair jobs. I bought them for my portable photography studio. Set them to reflect off the wall and then onto the model and they produce a near perfect effect.

I’m taking them to Denver this weekend for a modeling expo and they fit perfectly into my travel case.

I used this light to paint a dimly lit room and it was all I needed. This light made it easy to spot places I had missed or needed another hit with the paint roller. I am very pleased with as it’s very light, travels easily, and is compact.

I’m glad I bought two.

I would definitely recommend this light. I do a lot of painting and top coating wood projects and it helps me see so well! I also use it for trimming my dogs nails and works beautifully for that!

Bought this as an emergency light in case of a power loss. So much better than a flashlight. Now I realize that I will be using this portable light frequently.

I actually used this as emergency lighting during power outage following our recent tornado outbreak. They worked great-I bought 2.

Everything you could want in a flood light for setting up a goose hunting spread in the pitch dark. Each light is 9000 lumens for a total of 18000 lumens when both lights are on. Each light pulls about 95 watts for a 190 watt total when both lights are on.

I run these off my 7 blade trailer plug using a Hopkins Endurance 7 RV Blade to 12V DC Inverter Adapter and Jupiter 400 watt Continuous/ 800 Watt Peak Modified Sine Wave Power Inverter. Stand is very sturdy with no worries about the lights tipping.

Had it in the truck bed extended all the way up to 6′ in 17mph wind and was sturdy as a rock with the wide tripod base. Lights pivot in any direction. Lit up an area about the size of half a football field.

Awesome quality and value. No modifications needed for my intended purpose.

The power switch was broken right out of the box! I chose an undamaged box hoping to avoid damaged merchandise. What might be a good light is defeated by a really fragile power switch made of paper thin plastic.

I thought for a moment to just leave it in the “on” position, but then I concluded that a new $100 light should not be broken out of the box. I returned it for a refund. An exchange would only give me very fragile switches on a different unit.

The switches are a weak link. I have had good experience with other Braun shop lights; I am disappointed with this one.

I read some reviews of identical products sold on that online place that rhymes with blamazon and many folks had issues with stripped threads on the two individual lights. Low and behold one of my lights had a threaded hole with bugered threads (that guy needs a desk job); I checked them first and wound up running a tap (6mm x 1.

00) thru all four of them. The bugered hole is literally hanging by 2 threads. The holes bottom out so you would have to modify the lamp to over size them with a larger tap and screw knob. Other than that they fit the bill and are very bright, kinda like staring at the sun (don’t do that).
