20 Best Work Clothes On Amazon (2023 Updated)

Lack of consistency and quality control I usually purchase Dickies Painter’s pants at other online outlets, with some success regarding size. I decided to try ordering, direct from Dickies. Received the product on time.

Ordered White Painter’s pants (WH1953). However, I received Natural Beige Utility pants. I ordered my usual size, but these are exceedingly tight. They were made in Bangladesh. I have six other pairs of DICKIES White Painter’s pants, all the same size, all less than a year old; a few were made in Honduras (slightly tight), the others were made in Kenya (fit just right).

I am disappointed with everything about this order.

I prefer to wear natural cottton fabric pants due to skin irritation issues. However, nowadays most pants are treated with a non-iron coating and if you want durability you have to opt for a cotton/polyester blend.

All those factors make finding a basic cotton pant to wear very difficult in my price range. My last pair of casual every day pants wore out in 5 months with various tears. All those factors led me to buy these Double knee Utility Pants.

I had known about the Dickies brand for years as being strictly workwear, so I assume that they must have durable clothing. After wearing these pants for a few weeks I see that they are also very comfortable and look great.

They pair well with various polo shirts and button downs. I love that they are 100 percent pure untreated cotton, because they get softer and more comfortable with each wash. I do not mind the wrinkles as I steam them away with a device.

The only negatives I see in these pants which prevent me rating it 5 stars is the thin and flimsy waistband and low quality zipper. I am aware that they shrink, so I purchased a size larger as many here have recommended.

Other than that, these are a great pair of natural cotton pants which I hope will last me a long time.

I have been painting for 20+years and have always used Dickies for my uniform. I am happy with there overall quality but it seems like every year or so the same style of pants will change how they fit.

The majority of the time I have to buy a size up from my usual to account for shrinkage. I received my usual size I always get and washed them to shrink them. Once I tried them on out of the dryer the were still a size to big in waist on length.

It’s a battle with Dickies to figure out how the same pants will fit next time I out purchase them. Now I have a pair of painters pants that I cannot wear. I’m nervous to order another pair with alternate size because they may once again not fit correctly.

The size and the feel of the material is great. And the size are what you are looking for.

Companies change over time and sometimes not for the better. I had some old Red Kap uniforms that I had been wearing 6 days a week for 4 years. I washed them with our regular laundry at home. They stayed comfortable and held up great.

I considered the other choices but decided to go with Red Kap for my new custom mechanic shop uniforms. I used my usual size and everything came quickly and fit perfect. Pants were long but I didn’t measure and it was nothing a hem can’t fix.

I love the comfort stretch waistline. I was surprised how thick the material was. Super warm, Highest quality money can buy. Overall I am very pleased with my purchase and will purchase more from them if anyone.

I wear these pants to dress up my appearance as a professional they wear like steel and I can jump in with my crew and not worry about my pants. They usually wipe clean with a damp rag and I am ready for my next call.

The front thigh pocket hold my iPhone really well and I don’t have to wear a belt clip any more. Pair these with a company logo shirt and hat you have a clean cut professional appearance for your public image.

My wife liked the way I looked and asked me to purchase the plain front work pants instead of wearing jeans in my off hours. The pants I purchased wear well look great and are comfortable to work or lounge in and still look sharp all day.

I work on metal forming and cutting machines. On a ladder, on the floor and everywhere in between. Grease, hydraulic oil, metal slag, my pants see it all. I have used the Navy color pants for about two years with minor color fade and the only damage was from me putting a sharp tool the wrong way around in my back pocket.

Bend, squat, climb, do the splits- all ok. Back pockets are cut slightly loose so they can actually be used for holding stuff. Left leg pocket has a no snap no Velcro flap to hold on something like your wallet.

Right leg pockets are where improvement could be made; double pockets, enough room most of the time but. I really want the outer pocket to have a couple of sewn in pockets for markers, screw drivers- long, thin items.

Super easy improvement.

I love my new pants! I am in building/renovation and historic preservation of homes. I just earned my CPI (accredited education, Internachi home inspection, only one school IS in USA) and I’ll be starting my own business in the near future.

I had never experienced a pair of work pants that actually fit wonderfully( I was a model, tall and skinny) and that are holding up to all the situations I put myself in. One example is that I spent 4 days on my butt ( Historic repair of permanent gingerbread)on a shingle roof ridge and in the past I ended up with aggregate burn (not fun having a chafed groin area) and with DoveTail.

I didn’t ! The pants actually held up to constant abrasion. To be completely honest I wouldn’t have been able to get into certain locations/situations inspecting houses if I had on other pants without a gusset like yours.

I give your company super props for being the best and only company that is worth their salt for the design and durability, comfort and easy clean. You are way above Duluth and L. L. Bean and Carhartt.

I look forward to being able to afford more of your line of work wear pants. I’ll get there eventually. I’m a very happy customer and I’m glad that I found Dovetail. I talk about them and demonstrate their versatility on the job all the time.

Yesterday I had to cross a 2×4, 20 feet long in an attic in the crouched position that was 3ft high. and I didn’t fall through the rotted sealing because I could keep control of my legs and balance because of the freedom provided by the gusset.

I was asked HOW COULD YOU DO THAT wearing jeans? I will be in need of pants with a hammer hold and cargo style side leg pockets. I am going to be going into abandoned/condemned structures and have been strongly advised to “CARRY” and I intend to legally.

Pros: come in many lengths, well made, great fabric and color choices, pockets, phone pocket on leg esp nice. The grey canvas ones keep me warm in winter way better than denim and tights. Cons: waist gaps so have to wear a belt (this seems like something that shouldn’t be happening with women sized pants) zipper pocket on back under other pocket is hard to access and would rather have zipper pocket on leg, another loop lower on leg would be nice for wire snips or something like that, the stretch is practically nonexistent so they will drag down when you crouch or move and if you don’t have a belt on they will start to slouch down so basically you have to wear a belt.

An adjustable waist like the do for toddler clothes would be nice. Why don’t they do that for womens clothes? Anyway, I got a cheap low profile adjustable elastic belt so I barely notice it. I don’t put them in the dryer because if makes them a lot easier to break in and more comfortable.

They are my favorite still. I wear them everyday.

That accommodate for a womans hips. Plenty of pocket space. I added my own reflective accents for safety on the jobsite and wear these pretty much exclusively. Wish the summer weight hemp version of these were available in store to try on, but I’ll likely buy them online and trust that no quality was compromised by the lighter weight material.

Have been cycling 3 pairs for over a year now, with my first pair starting to see wear in the inner thighs and pocket holes from my screwdrivers. Knees still intact, only wish the side pockets were a little closer in construction, after constant wear, my cable cutters or pliers or whatever happens to be in them slide out whenever I’m in a vehicle.

Also wish the drill/ measuring tape slot ran a little deeper. Just a tad. Miles ahead of the competition. I cannot find a single carhartt or dickies that even holds a candle. Lifelong customer earned.

I am a size 30/30, 5’10. I had to take these trousers to my sewing machine to take up about 5. 5 inches. Few people with a 30 waist have legs that length. So if you buy these, unless you are luck you’ll have to have the length altered.

At first they do look terribly rigid but don’t be put off. The fabric is stiff and will need some wearing and a good wash a few times for them to soften to your body shape. There is advice on the Dickey’s website.

It is very much worth all the effort. With time you have a flattering trouser. These are very affordable for a well-made good quality trouser is a fashionable fit.

I will wear your pants forever but you change the designs too often. When I go to buy new ones there seem to be none like I bought previously but there are new ones I can’t gather enough information from your website to judge correctly.

The last four orders I bought from your website I either sent back of donated away. Specifically, this latest occasion, your pictures on the website did not show the waistband in enough detail. I bought them anyway because the name of them sounded correct.

Once they arrived I learned the FLEX in the name does not refer to the old elastic band in the waistband which you no longer make for some reason. Double disappointment. I will figure it out because Dickies are perfect work pants.

And, they are stylish enough I can leave the jobsite and meet with customers or have a business lunch without having to change. They are also good for skiing or in bad weather for short periods of time.

I wear them for everything I do in work or play.

Fabric really stiff upon receipt. Pocket material doubly so. The cut and fit seems pretty good, and the coloration seem appropriate. Not sure if softness would improve with washing nor the coloration reduce, but at the cost vs other options on the market, not sure if washing to soften is worth the gamble.

The hem line stitching (to hold the hemmed pant inside the leg) is visible and noticeable; thread color and material are fine, but the stitch itself is larger than expected and wraps around each leg, regardless of pant color (I tried grey and black).

I love these pants because they are made of an extremely tough, long lasting, yet economical cotton-polyester blend. I wore this material for 12 years as a machinist and they really are the best material for all around use.

My only gripe with these pants is that they are similarly built as Dickies, meaning, a full seat and legs but too small of a waist. I sew a little on the side so its not a big deal, I will alter them accordingly.

I bought these pants for work, of course. I spend about half my working year in the field so thought but comfortable pants were a priority. I’ve spent a lot of time trying to find the right pant and I think I found the right pair in the Maven X.

The pants are comfortable enough to wear all day, multiple days in a row. I have no problem squatting, crawling, bending, or whatever is required in these things. I will say, and I’ve seen this in other comments, the waist band can be itchy.

I personally always have my shirt tucked so it doesn’t bother me, but a less itchy stitch or thread would be a definite improvement. A note on how they fit my body: I’m 5’4”, 150 lbs. I have a small waist and large behind.

These pants are able to fit the contours of my waist, booty, and thoughts without squeezing in uncomfortable places. The canvas is tight, at first, but after a couple wears, they relax to a point that i don’t notice I’m wearing these pants.

Bonus points: not that it’s necessary for my job but I feel like I look bomb as hell in these pants. It’s always kind of nice not to feel like a sack of spuds when wearing work pants. Also, pockets.

These are great work pants, and I wear them regularly. But they are a bit of a step down from the Mavens. Pros: + The fabric is really comfortable and breathable, even in high 70s/low 80s. Feels like jammies, wears like armor.

+ The stitching and overall quality is really high. + Still lots of pockets! Cons: + Why are the pockets switched from the regular Mavens? No configuration is going to be perfect, so they might as well be consistent.

+ Fit is not quite the same as the Mavens–the lower leg is less slim and more straight. They are still more slim than the Britt, however. + Waist also rides lower than the comfy high-rise of the Mavens.

+ Inseam sizing is not consistent with the Mavens. A 30-inch inseam in Mavens comes right down to the top of my foot, whereas a 30-inch inseam in these hovers an inch above. I air dry these, so it isn’t a shrinking issue.

This is the most annoying con to me. I may try these in a 32-inch inseam when this pair wears out, just because the quality and durability of the canvas is so good. But I hope eventually the fit on these gets more aligned with that of the Mavens.

I was so excited to finally find a womans work pants company that offered sizes smaller than 2. When I received my order, they fit great. Unfortunately I immediately noticed discomfort in the crotch area like the seam was messed up but it didn’t appear to be.

When looking at the back, it looked very much like a had an obvious wedgie, although I did not. As a female working in a male dominant field, I would be way too uncomfortable to wear anything like that at work.

I wanted something flattering but that was simply inappropriate. I wish I could say it was just a seam stitch defect, but again, it appeared to be correct and rather just the design itself. Also, the color you see in the first picture is more true than the rest of the pictures that appear to be more of a toned down green.

The color in person was very much green and less grayish green which isn’t my personal preference. Returned immediately. Disappointed for a $90 pair of pants.

These are the best work pants I have ever owned. true to size and durable as all heck. I am a home inspector so I need to carry an array of tools and go into scary places for pants. Lol, but they hold up well and the knee pads come in handy, although you have to adjust them under your knees, can’t just expect them to line up every time.

Love them and I’m on my 4th pair over the years.

generally I like Red Kap shirts. but some are very good and other styles not so good. once broke in, this shirt is very comfortable. but I found this style to run about 1/2 size small and not so well sewn.

the seams at shoulders and armpits are coming apart after just a few days wear. it wasn’t all that long ago that this “Deluxe heavyweight cotton” workshirt wasn’t heavyweight at all. it was the norm.

and now they charge extra for this weight of cotton. it wouldn’t be so bad if they retained the quality. but they don’t. I don’t know how some companies have the nerve to even call their clothing “workwear” it’s so bad.

but all in all , Red Kap does better compared to the others.

I use to wear Red Kap while working maintenance in a plant. I’ve moved up, but still love the wearability and look of these shirts. I work our farm and automotive shop now (part time) and need shirts that will hold up.

Red Kap was my go-to on this. Pro’s: These shirts are heavy-duty. Good cut for wearing tucked or untucked. They release the grease and oil well. These long sleeves roll up as the days warm up. Cons: My only complaint it that top snap.

It grabs my beard every once in a while and pulls a hair out, OUCH.

after wearing mens trousers for a lifetime, i’ve finally found a functional pair of women’s trousers, oh joy of joys!! i can’t even explain how life changing this is. at first it was all about just having pockets that fit things! safe phone pocket where i don’t sit on my handset, or have it jammed into my hip.

somewhere to carry a small pen and notebook, and my knife! and still more pockets to go! but best of all is not getting mistaken for a guy all the time. i didn’t realize how much it means to me, after shrugging it off my whole life, but it’s just really nice to be recognized as a woman.

sucks it took me 40 years to find trousers like these, but now i’m set for life! telling all my lady friends about dovetail 😀 thanks for making such amazing clothes! (fit facts: 5’6″ 130lb) had no clue where to start with sizing, so i measured myself and was a 10-12 on the size guide, but decided to order the 8 and 10.

the 10 was more comfy (being used to mens fitted jeans), but the pockets flared when i sat, so i went with the 8. took me a day to get used to how they feel, definitely the most snug jeans i own and probably the first non low rise trousers i’ve ever worn, but the fabric is stretchy and they feel totally natural now.

It’s been a good run, but I’m sorry to say that my Dovetail Mavens have worn out, the butt fabric was the first to go. I’m not sure what I expected, four years is a decent lifespan for workwear. But, not the best, and I’m also hesitant to replace them with more Dovetail pants because they honestly never fit my big hips/small waist figure as well as I wished they would.

I had to size down to a 2 (from my normal 4) to address my “waist gap” issue, but the pants were always a challenge to pull up over my butt, and even after a day of wearing/stretching out they still felt pretty tight around my hips.

I was considering trying a different style (something less “slim” fitting), but see I pretty similar confusion and disappointment around sizing and fit for curvy people in the reviews for most of the pants offered at this time.

I love Dovetail as a company, and appreciate their attention to detail, so I’ll definitely be following along to see if they continue to come out with more styles that better meet the needs of curvy bodies.

Personally (if anyone is listening. haha) I’d love to see a pant with a straight leg and higher waist, and perhaps butt reinforcements (honestly that would be a dream– my pant butt gets more abrasion and experiences more tension than my pant knees, I think it deserves the same attention to accommodate all of the bending and scooting).

And, of course, I love to see the addition of more summer-friendly fabrics, too. Anyways, I definitely recommend this product, I think Dovetail makes some of the best women’s work pants available, but I also think there’s still some room for improvement.

I am 33, Working Barmanger and besides 5 years in the military, I’ve been working in The Industry since I was 15. This is the most durable, comfortable, and stylish simple Black Dress Shirt I have ever worn while on the Job.

I wear it off the job as well, when need be. I have had two of these shirts since September 2016, working doubles and buried in the weeds and they finally died, almost 2 years later. I just bought three.

really well sized, smart slim fit. Ordered one to see how they where as I have been stung by ‘uniform shirts’ and there ill fittings before. These when exactly as described. They are pure cotton too so you dont get the ‘iron shine’ marks on them.

Being that I work for an automotive recycling company I tend to handle a lot of items covered in oil and/or grease with a tendency to have sharp points sticking out that are more than happy to rip uniforms.

These Ted Kap shirts hold up to the abuse much better than the uniforms my employer is willing to provide. If these shirts do get snagged, they don’t typically rip with large openings. Generally, the rip stops within a 1/4 inch.

They also tend to clean well by releasing the oils, grease and dirt, keeping them looking good. The pockets on these shirts are very convenient as well. The left chest pocket is divided into three sections, two are perfect for pens or permanent markers, the two on the left sleeve work great for paint pens and pocket screwdrivers.

Everything held in the pockets are easily accessible when needed. The pocket on the right side of the chest is large enough to hold a small note pad plus other things as well. I opted to customize my shirts with my name embroidered on the right side chest above the pocket through Red Kap.

There was very minimal waiting time between ordering and receiving delivery of the order (mine took less than two weeks total). The embroidery looks great and the stitches are tight and well secured for a long life.

Was looking for work shirts for my landscaping business and can never find what worked for me in stores. Ran across these on line and decided to try one. Was worried about the fit being it was ordered.

I liked the options that was given. I went ahead and looked at the specs to try and match my size correctly and found what I needed. Ordered one to try. Once received I ordered more being they fit well.

I did find them to be a little pricey but again I strongly believe you get what you pay for. They seem to be made well and I believe they will hold up during the summer lawn season while being breathable in the peak summer heat.

As long as I’m in business I think this will be the standard work shirt for me. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

This shirt is amazingly durable and washable. I work as a welder and mechanic and have had a set of four shirts for four years. Enamel paint is the only thing I haven’t been able to remove. Brake cleaner has taken out every other stain and hasn’t jeopardized the integrity of the material.

These shirts have outlasted 3 pairs of firehose flex pants from the D Trading Co!.

Carhartt is about the only pants that I’ve worn for many years. I tried this new style because of price but are the favorite Carhartt in my closet for the following reasons: 1. A right side hammer loop makes it difficult to use the right side pocket.

I raise grapes and keep a hand lopper in that pocket much of the summer months. The loop makes it difficult to remove and replace my trimming lopper so I’ve been cutting that loop off all my Carhartts.

With this pant No modification is necessary. 2. The lighter-weight material and loose fit improves ease of movement, especially on a muggy day. 3. I can easily put my hands in my front pockets to remove change, etc.

Let me start by pointing out that these are loose fit pants. Yes, they will fit large. I am 6’0″ 215# and typically wear 36×32. I ordered 36×32 in these pants despite the reviews I read. The pants are a little large however this will leave room for under layers.

They fit fine with a belt. I marked the fit as true to size because I expected these pants to fit a little large, I typically wear straight cut or boot cut. Plus this leaves room for under layers on the extra cold days.

The flannel is not very thick, which is great for me because my typical winter climate is H50 L30. These pants served this climate well without any under layers. Warmth: I am pleased with the warmth of these pants, in my climate.

in a cooler climate you may still consider under layers. The flannel is not very thick, nowhere near as thick as a flannel shirt. It is soft and comfortable though. Appearance: they’re work pants. Durability: The outer fabric seems of good quality.

I expect nothing short of the Carhartt name. Quality: The product delivered as expected. These are quality pants that I would buy again. Function: The pants allow enough room to move. The larger side pocket on the right fits my iPhone8 plus in a rubber case.

The front pockets are rather deep.

I have been buying my work pants from WHBM for years. Loved them! But not excited about new pair. Same material but fit seems like curvy is not a thing anymore. New designer? New manufacturer? What gives.

Like most women I toggle in my weight and loved WHBM for work pants. Sleek…beautiful…fit just right and accessorized my curves…Of note: I am a woman…a real woman…my variance is 8-12…mostly 10, with a 6-8 waist, but regardless always had a great fit with WBHM.

Not the other day. No britches were the same; I bought them out of kindness to the rep, but now I have to find a new company who loves my hips and respects my tiny waist.

I was immediately drawn to the subtle plaid and was very pleased with the material and fit. I expected these to be more of a gray, but the coloring has hints of light rose. Because of that, these pair very well with any of the rose or merlot colored tops that happen to be in the current collection.

I was hoping the material would be more of a ponte, but they wore well, had just enough give and held their shape through out the day. They did pill a bit, but nothing my fabric shaver can’t handle. They do not stretch out, so do not size down in these.

They fit a little tight in the leg and seat, but perfect in the waist. A nice addition to my closet.
