20 Best Wood For Porch Signs (2023 Updated)

I thought this would be perfect for the front porch but I am very disappointed. First of all, I was excited about the size but no where does it say it’s 2 pieces that have to be put together. It comes in 2 pieces and has to be screwed together by 6 screws.

This is not made of real wood so the particle board was not the best to screw into, plus you had to make spots for the screws. The 2 pieces were wrapped together in bubble wrap but the corners and edges were not really protected so several areas are missing color on the front of the sign.

It could have been really cute, if it was all one piece. Very disappointed because I love nutcrackers and this would have been perfect for the porch.

I love this sign!! I had wanted this for Christmas last year and it was sold out, so I bought it like two months early this year to make sure I got it LOL! And it’s TALL! It does come in two pieces, but easy to put together and tall! It’s perfect for my outdoor holiday decor and everyone can definitely see it from the street, which I love.

It’s very well made and painted beautifully. Definitely worth the money!.

Beautiful porch sign for the holiday. It’s a heavy item that comes in two pieces that are easy to put together. It is tall and beautifully visible from the road. Makes for a very inviting entrance for the season.

The front part of the sign looks like a toy monster truck was driven across it. There is a black streak across the left side that kind of look like tire tracks. It isn’t really dark, but, bothersome when close to it.

I knew the sign wouldn’t be very bright in color because of the picture, still wish it was brighter though. There should be a “maybe” option with the yes or no for recommending this product – I’m torn between the two.

It is a cute product.

Expected quality to be a bit better. Expected wood but actually is a veneer over some type of pressed material. It arrived with 1 corner peeled upward and I had to re glue and seal entire board with clear acrylic spray to help preserve it.

I purchased at a sale price and had I bought it at normal price, I would have given it an even lesser star rating. Definitely not a good value if you pay 40 bucks.

I will have to agree with another review, this sign is one of the best purchases that I’ve made from Qvc. The quality is exceptional. Even the 3 small wreaths are extremely nice. The nice bronze hook on the O will also allow decorating with any small wreaths or candle rings that I already have.

I didn’t see a presentation on this but found it online & took a chance based on the 5 star reviews. My original plan was to put this on my back covered porch but it’s so nice I’ve decided to use it indoors.

It looks so nice in so many areas of my home. I can’t decide where to put it! It also has a nice twine/rope hanger on the back for hanging. So nice!.

Great looking sign, but arrived damaged. I ordered two because I wasn’t set on which color would look best with my house. One arrived with the wood chipped on the corner and other one came with the hook broken.

I wouldn’t recommend unless you are capable of and open to fixing it, if damaged upon arrival.

The photos don’t do it justice! The quality is amazing. The wreaths are amazing. The vibe is amazing. My mom came over today and purchased it two minutes within seeing it- it is that perfect. I know there aren’t many photos, but if you’re on the fence like I was, you will not be disappointed.

I was pleasantly surprised when I open the package. It was way prettier than I ever anticipated and the quality of wood was nice. It has a place to mount it on the wall or it has a cute easel type stand.

Very impressed with this welcome sign and it matches my decor perfectly. Would purchase this product in the future or for a friend.

I would like to start by saying I ordered this item on 6/18 and received it on 6/24!! It is unbelievable because it takes a couple of days for transit. Now. the piece is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!! I actually hung the sign on my house!!!! I love the quality.

Beautifully finished unfortunately the Mail wasn’t as nice. Packaging was more than sufficient but the postal service was not packaging torn all the way through bubble wrap. I will touch it up. But very nicely done.

I am happy about receiving this Plaid Unpainted Wood Welcome Sign!! I have always wanted one of these and I finally have one. It’s not as big as I thought it would be but I am very happy and pleased with this one and it’s size is just right for my front porch! I received this is the mail and it was packaged very nice.

I highly recommend purchasing one of these so you can decorate it how you want it to look. I like that I can put whatever I want on this sign. I got paint to go on this sign also. I will be buying more of these signs with different things and sayings on them.

I have a friend that wants a welcome sign as well so I am going to buy her one for her home. It’s very well made. I like the wood can get wet and it will not ruin it. I can’t wait to decorate this for my front porch!! I also got this cute plaid unpainted wood square double pane plexiglass frame! I can’t wait to decorate that as well for my porch!! I will be hanging it up next to my front porch door and I am going to put a picture in it.

The plexiglass is strong so that’s a plus. Great stuff!!.

This was thicker than I would imagine and very durable. The world welcome is raised, and the wood is a natural wood color, so the sky is the limit when painting. I used a light grey color and did not have to prime the piece before painting, but I did apply two coats.

It was smooth and my paint brush did not get caught on the wood. Overall, this was a really nice art project piece and durable. I added some string to hang on the side of the doorbell before coming in the home.

So far, the weather has not warped it and it still looks great.

The sign is small but very cute. I ended up using it in a small display for spring on my front porch. It was very smooth to paint. The letters were attached fairly well, I did pull a few off and attach them again because they were loose on certain spots, but it works out well so I could paint the base.

Sealed it with water proof coating and it looks really cute on the stand on my porch.

QVCs quality control has gotten REALLY bad! The first one I received was in a box that had been re-taped and the sign was clearly damaged (corner) — my guess is that it was a return and nobody looked at it and just restocked it on the shelf.

I sent it back for an exchange and the next one was better, but not perfect. sad how bad their Quality Control has gotten – does nobody take pride in their job or products anymore??.

Beautiful sign with small plant holder. My sign did not last the rain due to the fake wood. Yes it is not real wood and after having for 3 weeks it warped. It has bent outward. Not sturdy and should not be placed on front porch where it rains.

I put this outside and the cheap wood collapsed and bent. It was under a cover and not full exposure to the elements but still the moisture from outside made it distorted in shape. To late to return but only used for 1month and it started.

Loved how my porch sign turned out so i bought a second one to turn into a standing display shelf! Easy to convert. Some wood screws and and two 1″x6″x6′ pieces of lumber and youll have a 3. 5′ coffin shelf for yourself! Just frame it in and add your shelves!.

Was excited to get this for a Halloween decor project. The first coat of paint started to peel up a thin strip of the wood right down the center, top to bottom. Had to remove the damage and repaint. Other than this issue, it’s a good item.

The wooden coffin makes for a good canvas for Halloween themed paintings. Make sure to sand it down just a bit before painting, but it’s very easy to paint on. Get spooky with it!

Quality control where are you! Don’t want to send this back for the hassle but no one saw the gash on the right side of the wood and a lighter color on this side ! Took filler and stain to correct it.

Not happy and thought it was too pricey!.

I have been wanting one of these for so long. I finally bit the bullet and ordered this one after much consideration. It hasn’t even been on my porch for a month, and it has completely warped. It looks terrible!.

I am absolutely thrilled about my “WELCOME” sign. It’s just perfect. I chose the ebony background with off white letters and that burlap bow just adds a nice special touch. It arrived in exactly 2 weeks, just like they said.

This sign exceeded my expectations. The lettering does not waver between the wood slabs and the coloring is exactly as pictured. It is just as tall as I as expected and did not disappoint whatsoever! I get complemented on this sign any time someone walks into my house.

The sign is nice. I am concerned how it will hold up in the weather over a long period of time so I plan to spray it with marine varnish. It will be fun to decorate that little half pail in the middle for each season.

A little smaller than pictured, but really cute! I love being able to change the flowers with the season. Quality wood and lettering.

It’s a good size. The wood is a nicer, more heavy weight and not flimsy. It’s probably too heavy to hang in a lightweight hook it’s probably better to lean it against the wall. Mine was just scratched up on the paint.

My kids painted these porch signs and they are amazing! High quality wood I’d thicker than you would think. Definitely recommend 😃

I don’t have the tools nor am I handy enough to cut the wood pieces for the sign myself. So when I saw this plain sign, I grabbed it right away! It is sturdy! It is a decent height, and it stains beautifully.

Nice sturdy sign. Stained a darker walnut color and then painted it for my business. Used Posca paint pens as they showed up better than the craftsmart paint that I started using first. Sealed the sign after painting and it looks good.

This item is wonderful for the halloween season. I have been looking for something like this in past seasons, but this is exactly what I have been looking for. Great quality.

The paint job on this sign looks super sharp and crisp. It brightens up the front entrance way. It is located in a covered area of my front porch and I feel like I should bring it in during the winter or a heavy storm.

Wish it was a bit more sturdy in the back to be outdoors year round.
