20 Best Wood For French Cleat (2023 Updated)

I have never heard of this picture hanger but the associate at the Flowood, MS, Michaels in the framing dept was so nice and helpful. I showed her the mirror and she took one look at it and told me I needed the cleat hanger.

I got a friend to hang it for me. It is amazing!!! I feel very safe that this was what I needed and it is an amazing product. Thanks also to great customer service.

I love French cleats & for years I was trying to find them in some of my favorite stores. When I checked with HD they had them at a location further away! The are great for heavy, level hanging & easy to remove your art to paint & rehang in same location.

Or you can unscrew from wall & hang in different location.

Purchased driver summer of 2019, delivered mid September. Only able to use 5 times. 2020 -2021 Covid. Course closed for first half, then able to use abt 15 times if you could find someone to play with! 2022, husband with cancer so limited usage as I cared for him.

I do not recommend TaylorMade brand. Played maybe 5 times this year when the entire M6 clubhead split. TaylorMade, nor proshop will stand behind it warranty wise, as it is 3. 5 years old, although could only use about 25 times in that timeframe.

Very disappointing in this brand. Worried that my other clubs will do the same if I use any of them five times more! Never had this happen in forty years of golfing. From other reviews I am now reading, this is a definite product defect that the brand will not stand behind to remedy.

I got the M4 less than a month ago, and I was able to get in a lot of swings with it. Overall the Driver’s consistency was off. even with square shots in the middle of the club face it had a tendency to go left.

ball speed ranged anywhere from 145 to 155. and the spin was pretty high just over 2900 rpms. The twist face tech was pretty nice, as it did fix fade’s which were really frequent when hit just above middle of the club face.

Although not the most forgiving driver, it was Very light. The lightness of the club allowed for some serious swing speed and ease of releasing a full swing. comparing to the m3 driver. it was a definitely a set back.

and required the improvements that were seen on the m6 and even sim Drivers. If you are just staring out, this may not be the driver for you. For someone who is square with the club face consistently.

This could be a game changer for you given you are used to adjusting a hook.

My wife surprised me with the Taylormade M4 Driver, RH, Stiff shaft, 10. 5 loft. I’ve played for years with a Cleveland Launcher and tried various drivers over the years. This Driver out performs anything I’ve put my hands on.

The club feels good, and hits are solid. I didn’t go to the driving range, and took it straight to the course to play 18. I didn’t miss a single fairway and consistently hit the ball down the middle with a slight draw.

Since the club was new, I could see where my impact was on the face. Even on toe shots, I was still down the middle with good distance. I gained an average of 15 to 20 yards from my old launcher as well.

Anyone out there playing with an older driver like I was that’s looking for some more distance and forgiveness should give this driver a try.

I needed a quantity of these for the perimeter of my boat dock. After shopping around, I found that Walmart. com definitely had the best price on them. The casting quality is good on these but you may want to consider the size.

I ordered the 6 inch ones, thinking that they would be adequate for my purpose. After receiving them, I wished that I had ordered the 8 inch ones. The larger size on a cleat, is not only more length, but also width and a larger hole sized opening to slide a mooring rope through.

After reviewing that the 8 inch cleats are twice the price, I am going to make do with the 6″ ones that I received. Another thing to note if you order these is the type of screw/bolt hole openings that you need.

One model has a hex-head shaped opening for a hex-head bolt, to go completely through the mounting surface, with a washer and nut on the underside. The other style is designed to accommodate a large, tapered, flat or oval head wood screw.

In either case, use stainless steel screws or bolts to mount this cleat. Otherwise, the fasteners will rust away in time and render the cleat useless.

We used these on a public boat dock. Very heavy duty. First box was busted open missing one however Home Essentials Direct quickly made it right. They could work on the packaging a little bit.

I cannot speak to the sea worthiness of this item. It seems sturdy and rather indestructible, although I am not sure how the thing is fastened down in a nautical application. I am using several of them to secure the ropes from a series of birdfeeders hoisted 20 feet above ground level.

Worked great! Picture will not be flush to wall. If you use all nails you will not be able to adjust the picture. Need to make a smaller size. But worked for what i needed.

The M4 driver is a must have in anyone’s bag. With the right shaft combination, the M4 driver is just as long as the other newer drivers out there on the market. My favorite feature is the Geocoustic technology that allows for a deeper face and therefore more forgiveness, which I was looking for in a new driver.

Ball flight and sound is ideal and the M4 is a fairway finder. And I love how the M4 (mine is a 10. 5 deg) sets up at address in the notch just lower than standard setting. Finally, you can’t beat the very reasonable price point of the M4 driver.

Definitely recommend – buy an M4 driver before they are all gone.

Bought this driver for my wife, who is relatively new to the game. Stock women’s set up, 12 degree loft. Nice high ball flight, doesn’t seem to spin too much. Distance and forgiveness a large improvement from her prior model.

Very impressed. Tremendous value since this was a brand new driver that was only released just shy of 4 years ago. The black club face had one unexpected perk for my wife: we were able to ascertain the location of her mishits based on tee marks – she wouldn’t otherwise be able to differentiate heel vs toe etc.

Would strongly recommend this club, and I suspect it would perform well for more experienced golfers as well.

The purchase was fine. But in reality buying plastic spikes this old wasn’t a good call on my part. They all broke upon replacing the old ones.

Hard to find the original Softspikes with the large plastic threads for older Foot-Joy shoes. These work perfectly and are a great find!

Work great to replace my older shoe spikes & I like them better than the original spikes!

I used the cleat to hang a floating headboard. it worked great and was easier than trying to connect to single smaller cleats blindly. It also was only 1/4″ from the wall so the headboard did not rock.

My only complaint was the dirt from the metal. Online they look so clean but in person they cause black to rub off. I kept them in plastic until I was ready to use them.

This cleat was perfect for hanging a padded headboard. I cut plywood to size, attached a foam cushion, batting, and then fabric, stapled to the back. This cleat made easy work of hanging this headboard at just the height I wanted over the queen size bed.

This cleat holds lots of weight and it’s easier to attach this level on the wall than fooling with multiple hangers and trying to get them level.

These cleats are working as intended. They are holding an 85 pound headboard to my plaster wall. Thank you to my friends at the Novi store who directed me to this product. My wife thinks I am Bob Villa, and my Rockler associates know better.

This cleat was purchased to add to 5 others just like it on my new pier & dock. It is a quality, heavy iron cleat at a great price. No picture right now because the crew is still constructing my whole new pier, dock, gazebo and lift.

These are very nice cleats but don’t be surprised if you have to do a little work to keep them from fraying up your ropes. The galvanizing process can leave some burrs and rough spots that need to be smoothed down and it’s easily done with a file or Dremel tool.

I used a Dremel with a sanding drum and fixed up 10 in just few minutes. I’d give the five stars if I didn’t need to work on them. I almost bought the large nylon cleats and still like those a lot but for the money these are a great buy.

Cleats have recessed pockets for screw / bolt heads on top. These are “round” recess, probably dictates using smooth head carriage bolts to avoid line fraying. Others have recessed “hex” hole to accept hex head bolt and aid tightening.

Be sure you know want you want. Also, should have assortment of backing plates on display to help with mounting decision.

Product Info states that thest cleats can be used with Bostitch SB-1850BN. Just bought the two and NO WAY! The 1850BN uses only finishing nails by the look of it. I was very disappointed as these flooring cleats would be much stronger than finishing nails.

Bostitch products should state clearly and correctly somewhere what fits what!.

Well made and good value floor cleats that can also be used with Powernail and Primatec flooring nailers. The ribs on the shank really get a grip in the joist and stop any squeeks that can sometimes happen.

Makes life easier when secret nailing tongues. Toothed edged means they grip real hard – real hard to prise out if you place the machine incorrectly and miss the tongue.

I just love this shop. i first met the owner Adam in NB when he did a road show in Moncton. I was very impressed by his knowledge and patience. That night I purchased a knife and some sharpening stones and I have ignored all my other knives since.

The quality and sharpness of a Japanese knife is like no other. i actually smile when i prep food now. I recently went to Charlottetown on business and brought some of my knives to get professionally sharpened.

When I arrive Adam was closing up shop and leaving to Newfoundland on a work roadshow. When he looked at me walking up with a box of knives in my hand he turned around open the shop up and registered my knives without question.

I was expecting getting them back in a week or so and pay for shipping. Adam asked me when i was leaving town. i told him next day at noon. He said don’t worry i have an employee who will get this ready for you by then.

I picked up the knives next day as planned and they where ready to go and my German steel knives work are actually sharper now than the day i purchased them. I picked up some accessories while i was at the shop and there is no comparison with the quality of a simple whisk i purchased, i have gone through like 5 in my life but this one feels right in your hand and just gets the job done right.

Best flat whisk I could find. It has an angle at the end which makes it easier to scrape bits form a skillet, or even whisk in a bowl. Great find. I bought another flat whisk, also nice, but I use this one more – due to the angle at the end and the comfy handle.

Well designed, high quality, made in the USA whisk. I had not heard of a roux whisk till I tried this whisk. I now consider it an essential. Makes stirring and whipping in a bowel, large measuring cup or pain easily.

Great for instant anything like potatoes and of course sauces roux or other wise!.

The product arrived well-packaged. Just be prepared to have to dispose of a lot of wood and rubber packaging materials. This made the box was so so heavy and impossible for one person to move. Seems well-made and looks nice with my teak table.

The color is really red. It’s listed as Copper Henna, but there’s nothing copper about it.

Love this bench! I got this (in wild black) for our front entry/ patio just to add a little interest and modern flare and it’s perfect! It was really easy to assemble (maximum 30 min, 1 person) and light enough to carry by myself but sturdy enough to hold at least 2 adults.

I ordered the fossil gray colored bench. It arrived on date expected and well packaged. The bench was super easy to assemble; remove two screws heads, remove long bolt, flip leg slats, insert long bolts and re-tighten screw heads.

This bench is beautiful on the small front porch of my mid-century home. I find the bench very sturdy and stable, and it’s unique design was just what I wanted to make a statement for my home.

The only thing I like about these cleats are the fastening screws. Mounting was weird as the Exustar’s required as much toe-in as the cleat would allow. These are supposed to be NO FLOAT because that’s what I ride with, NO FLOATs.

However, after 300+ miles I noticed abnormal float around 1 degree with the right cleat and 2 degree float with the left. The Keo 2 Max pedals were purchased new in June 2015. To double check if the pedal grip platforms had not developed unusual wear I switched the Exustars out with a set of used Keo 2 Max NO FLOAT black cleats.

They had around 700 miles on them. Lo-and-behold no float! So, no, I cannot recommend Exustar cleats.

I use these for riding at soulcycle, cyclebar and peloton. They are great, long lasting cleats. I’ve had them for 3 years without issue. Highly recommend!

My Shimano-Look (Delta) pedals date back to the 1990s. Although Look has moved on to the Keo platform, the Deltas work fine for me. Finding black, zero-float Delta cleats (I wear out 1 set a year) is getting harder.

The Exustar Delta cleats are OK, but not as good as the Look originals. Unfortunately, the originals are not easy to find.

This is my favorite heavy duty hanger. I’ve tried a lot but this is definitely the easiest to use and strongest.

This is the 3rd hangman I have purchased. The product is easy to use and items I have hung are secure on the wall. We just hung an 8 pane window (with glass panes) on a wall in my living room. Other items hung are secure as well.

I am VERY satisfied and would refer it to anyone. Wall studs are still necessary when using this product.

Great cleats. Light weight but very strong. Perfect addition for my concrete sea wall to tie up the boat for a quick stop.

Solid cleat and looks great. Be mindful of size needed; I purchased the 10″ cleat but am only using 3/8″ dock lines so needs an extra wrap of line to hold properly. Could’ve gone with smaller size. 10″ cleat would be ideal for 1/2″ dock line.

The quality of the product looks fine. Just way bigger than i needed. Next time I need to MEASURE and not just GUESS, because I was way off

After trying out all the major brands in 3 woods a few months ago, I consistently hit the Launch Pad better than any other. I was so happy with it on the course that I went through the same process with the driver with the same result: the Launch Pad worked best for me.

After playing with it for 5 rounds now, I love it. In all honesty, I didn’t gain any distance over my old driver. However, it consistently puts the ball in the middle of the fairway with a beautiful trajectory.

After never giving any thought to Wilson before, I’m definitely a convert now.

I was fitted for this club by Joaquim, the Wilson rep. My instructor, John Klein, hooked us up. When I use this club it sounds like an egg cracking when I hit the ball. Right on THE SWEET spot! And my drives have increased about 30 yards!.

I have struggled with coming-over-the-top with the driver since picking up a golf club 20 years ago. I have been using the M6 with better success for a few years but decided that maybe a newer draw biased driver (and 9 degree rather than 12 degree) would result in more consistent fairways hit.

Received my Sim2 MaxD just before Christmas and took it to the range 3 times since. 100 drives —- 100 perfect, beautiful, drawing, and long drives. It may also be the heavier back weight and lighter shaft combo that cured my OTD.

Club is winner! I’ll be living in the high 70s / low 80s for sure with this driver.

Added the Sim2 5 metal wood to my Taylormade line-up of clubs. I have the Sim driver, three wood and 3 Hybrid. My irons are P790’s with Taylormade 54-58 degree wedges, TP putter. Play the Taylormade TP 5 ball.

The club helped make up added distance since at 67 years of age, the Sim 3 Hybrid lost distance. Losing distance is an age thing, if you didn’t know. But the way the ball feels leaving the club head says a lot about the club.

Shot the best round of the year, 68 the other day. Glad I added this club. Glad the Sim2 was still available. Great product, great service from Taylormade.

I bought this 10 pack to replace three of the cleats that fell out of my Simms rubber soled wading boots. The boots were just put into commission this past spring, along with these cleats, so i have used them 6 months, approximation 20 hours/week, so let’s say a bit less than 500 hours total.

I try and remember to tighten them intermittently, but this last outing I noticed I was missing three. In terms of grip, not as good as the hardbite (but about half the price). Also not in the same league as korkers more aggressive soles eg the triple threat carbide wading soles.

If you wade super slippy rivers and your objective is to remain vertical, and perhaps your balance isn’t great, invest in korkers and upgrade to the triple threat soles (downside is they are $70). If you have pretty good balance and aren’t wading the mega slippery stuff, these cleats will do the job and I think are better than most screws I have used for the price.

That is why I am buying them again. Also, the flat aluminum profile is easier on boats and your car (or your buddy’s car).

Third set of cleats, they do grip well until cleat breaks or the screws degrade. Screw holes in soles become unusable after several uses forcing you to place new cleats in less optimal positions. Found using a flexible adhesive like goop in addition to the screws seems to extend the usefulness of cleats/screws.

The product is fantastic no doubt. The problem is they’re not the right cleats for the Simms Tributary Rubber Sole Wading boot. But to be very clear that mistake is all on me not you. I should have researched to make sure they were compatible.

Still a great product.
