I totally Love this coat. It is everything it said it was. I went out on my patio in 39 degree weather to try it out. Sat out there for an hour, warm as a bug. It is very windy in my backyard. We have common ground going into woods, this coat really cuts the wind.

It is Perfect!.

The item was delivered before the time stated, very good. But the item was way to big thinking that he would be wearing a shirt or sweater under it he was drowning in it. I wish it would have said runs big in the add but it didn’t so now I have to do a return.

I would really like this in stores so one can try it on in person. I do hate buying on line for this reason having to return items.

I have one of these coats and it’s really nice to have during the fall months with the detachable vest. Wear it alone or with your favorite jacket or hoodie. Or in the cold winter months here in Pa. When we are getting that lake effect snow and wind from close to Erie Pa.

So either season fall or winter don’t forget your Freeze Defense.

If you’re looking for a retro-stylish, durable, every day jacket for mild winter conditions, this is a great option. I love this jacket’s combination of classic, rugged styling, durable construction and utility.

To start, it’s pretty heavy and not a very warm coat. Due to its weight and bulk I’d hesitate to travel with it and would never use it actively. It’s a strictly around town jacket, but it’s terrific for that.

Lacking traditional down or synthetic insulation (it uses a high pile fleece lining), it’s not super warm on its own so you need to layer for extra warmth. Imagine a lined softshell and a traditional winter coat had a baby.

The coldest I’d wear this is probably mid-20s (F) with a long sleeve base layer, and mid-weight fleece or wool sweater underneath. My sweet spot for this jacket is 30-40F. I would not recommend this for deep cold winter weather.

The jacket has good weather resistance. The G-1000 shell fabric blocks the wind nicely and has just enough breathability so you don’t overheat (standing or walking). It does a good job blocking the snow but I would not walk around in a rain storm.

Applying Fjallraven’s wax can supposedly add considerable weather resistance (I haven’t tried). It’s a great looking jacket that is versatile enough to wear to work, on a date, walking around town or doing yard work.

And – at least to my eye – it has a timeless style that will look good for decades. As for durability, I haven’t owned this jacket long but the materials are substantial and high quality. Everything from the shell fabric to the snaps are burly and should stand up to years of use.

It wouldn’t shock me if this jacket lasted for decades. The fit is what I would call regular: not trim nor baggy. Don’t be fooled by old reviews. Fjallraven redesigned this recently (2019?) and trimmed up the previously baggy fit to something more modern.

For reference I’m 6-1, 185lbs, 40″ chest, and a medium is perfect. It’s got a very utilitarian feature set. It’s got 2 (snap) chest pockets, 2 (snap) waist pockets with 2 side-oriented hand warmer pockets beneath.

On the inside left there’s a small zippered pocket for your phone and a small dump pocket on the right. The hood is functional and well sized, needing no adjustments. There are hem draw cords at the waist to tighten up the hem.

The front of the jacket has a sizable two-way main front zipper plus large snaps over top – minor issue: the zipper can be finicky. So long as you don’t expect something different out of this jacket than the above, I’d highly recommend it!.

I bought this jacket because I wanted to get away from the harmful chemicals used in most modern “waterproof/breathable/repellent” clothing. Upon unwrapping this beauty, I was transported back to yesteryear, when “60/40” jackets were state-of-the-art! This is a beautiful shell jacket, essentially a 60/40 or 65/35 as per the poly/cotton blend.

While I haven’t worn it much yet, I can tell you that you’ll need to wax it for waterproofness in heavy downpours. It will excel in cold, high output activity, where the material will repell snow, yet breathe very well.

Size wise I am normally a medium, but purchased a large to allow for layering – this will work very well in winter. It is too roomy without layers but still wearable. Beautiful quality. I’d recommend it whole heartedly.

High level of craftsmanship, style, and warmth. It won?t replace your very cold winter coat, but its warmth does well for the medium thickness. It?s a very nice fit for your normal size but layering underneath can get a little snug and cramped.

I?m a bigger guy at 6?5? and 260. The XL fits well and is flattering, but there is definitely a hinderance in range of motion in the shoulders. If you?re looking to layer, it might be a good idea to size up.

The exterior is a nice durable feel, but also soft and stylish. The interior down filling is a medium thickness, but delivers a lot of warmth for its size. The lining is very soft and smooth, I?ve brushed my cheek up against the hood lining and thought for a second there was cloth meeting my skin.

Overall, a very high quality jacket that will last years and years.

Being from ND we know something about parkas. This is a good attempt, but misses some key features, and some features could be better implemented. The good, it’s cut well to allow mobility, and it has enough room in your normal size to layer.

The zipper is good, especially being able to zip up from the bottom for getting in/out of vehicles etc. Material seems durable, no surprise there, reflectors are a plus. Now for the misses. The hood needs to be more adjustable, there is velcro in the back to adjust the height of the hood, but it needs to be longer down the back allowing for the hood to be pulled back further.

The cuffs have the same problem, the velcro should allow for the outer cuff to cinch down further, doing so also allows the user to secure the hood from flopping around when not in use (nothing more annoying than working in the wind with a hood flopping over your head when you don’t want it to).

The waist cinch is 2-3″ too high. The snap closure pockets are worthless with heavy gloves or mittens on you will never get them re-snapped, all pockets should be heavy duty velcro. The exterior vertical chest zipper pockets outside should be taller, there’s no getting a gloved hand in them.

The interior pockets should be deeper with a taller zipper. The lower side pockets should be lined thicker and on both sides not just one to better provide warmth. Total misses: All parka’s need a cinch at the bottom of the jacket, not just the waist.

This keeps wind from blowing up inside the jacket, huge miss here.

Outstanding coat. Owned for 3 months……. It does what is says, and what it does best is Blocks Severe Fast Cold Wind like nobody’s business. It’s Heavy in weight due to the tough quality long lasting materials.

Love all the front zipper pockets, as it gives me a piece of mind my belongings will Never fall out. Front hand pockets are Hugh and have a nice large opening allowing me to use them with my extreme Carhart Gloves comfortably they are also fleece lined to keep your hands warm if you forget your gloves behind.

Smooth interior coat lining makes it a breeze taking on and off. Love the 3m reflector location on front and back for outdoor day or night time visibility when dealing with oncoming car traffic. This jacket stores a lot of EDC gear while keeping all of your carry items very organized.

Product runs big in size…so consider going down 1 size when buying. I am 6ft 250lbs and the XL fits soooooo perfectly…. I tried a XXL and it was sooooo big, XXL I RECOMMEND FOR SOMEONE 280LBS-320Lbs in that 6 foot range.

So beautiful, the color perfect. Warm, comfortable, water proof, pockets are amazing, length is perfect for long boots. Material is luxurious, not cheap product, dries fast, and was at -0F for 2 hours cleaning neigbors and my snow.

Didnt get cold, or feel a thing, my face wantes the same love my body was getting, next on the list face mask.

But giving only 4* because the hood is way too big -useless , you won’t be able to see anything. I think the hood is really important for rain and cold, therefore wouldn’t recommend it. Exchanges for Regatta-their hood are perfect size.

Coat fits great & looks just like the photo. True color. Feels warm haven’t tested it in cold weather yet.

Bought this for my husband and I love the look. I debated between ordering the L or XL and I’m glad I ordered the L. It fits true to size and the color is nice. It’s bulky and heavier than I thought, I assumed a puffer coat would be much lighter weight but realized I should have noted “coat”, not jacket.

It will be good for winter, I just wish it were lighter weight.

I recently bought this Reebok coat and like it a lot. Good fit, deep side pockets and the chest zipper pocket is not the typical little one I expected. It’s plenty big enough for my phone. I think I got a pretty nice, warm coat at a really good price.

I bought these two weeks ago in size large for men I return it cause they runs small got and extra large and hope the zipper doesn’t damage again that was the problem. Zipper cheaply made. He like the style so I bought and xl.

The Parka was a very good buy however it unfortunately did not fit….that is the only reason that i returned it

Brilliant coat but I found it very heavy to lift. I have poor muscle tone and it wasn’t something that I thought about when buying, but the coat itself was great.

I LOVE this jacket!! On top of looking great, it is very warm and has so many pockets, I’ve lost count of how many there are!! Body fits well, but the arms run a little snug, so if you plan on layering or wearing a hoodie underneath, I would suggest going the next size up.

If just going with 1 shirt, should be okay with your “regular” size. I’m 6’1″ and 215 # and normally wear XL shirts. Jackets, I wear L and XL, depending on the maker. For this one, I ordered an XL but the body was HUGE.

There are draw strings to tighten it up but I opted to return it and go with L, and I like that better. Just note what I said about the arms and layering and you’ll LOVE this jacket too!.

Bitter cold winters here in North Idaho and this jacket keeps me toasty warm. When I purchased it last year i did notice it was very stiff but it broke in nicely and takes a beating without showing any wear.

It also washes great. Lots of pockets everywhere, in fact so many pockets you will lose things. Great looking and you’ll find your friends and coworkers are envious and asking where you bought it.

I read their description, that the jacket was “roomy” so I ordered the XL size that I wear in every other winter jacket size that I have. The XL size is so small that I could not get my arms into the sleeves.

I don’t know if it was an XL in a child’s size, and certainly the torso part looked large enough. I am not convinced that the sleeve diameter on an XXL would be any larger. This is really quite disappointing.

I am impressed with the quality of this coat. I purchased it for ice fishing in PA and it does a great job keeping me warm and blocks out the wind. I need to purchase the matching bibs next year when they get back in stock.

On the coat keep in mind that they run large. I normally wear an XXL but returned it and got an XL instead and it’s still plenty big for layering.

The top outer pockets are not very usable due to how it is designed and small size but all of the other pockets are very usable. When right out of the packaging it is very stiff and will take a couple of weeks to loosen up.

This coat is very warm and will keep out the cold and snow/rain. If it is anything like my other Guide Gear coat it will hopefully last for years, my other one lasted for almost 10 years and only had to replace it when the pocket linings tore.

You also cannot beat the price for what you get.

I’ve gone through several “waterproof” coats that always end up soaking in the water after seeing only 20-30 minutes of moderate rain. This is not those coats. This coat keeps you DRY. it is very adjustable, has more than enough pockets, and was designed with an ample amount of thoughtfulness to the user.

It is durable, and fairly warm on it’s own with a t- shirt, but even warmer the more layers you add on. I give this coat 10/10. P. s. I am 6’2″ with a thin frame and the size Medium had more than enough sleeve and torso length.

I love this coat. It fits well, breathes well, and stays warm. The shiny silver lining works well at reflecting heat back inward. Unfortunately, it’s got a pretty major design flaw as well. The zipper runs so low (and is built so dainty) that it breaks if you do any physical movements (like shoveling snow) as I did just a few short weeks after purchase.

The zipper starts well below the hips so that movements in the legs will be caught inside the coat, and the full strain goes straight to the zipper. Movements such as squatting will pop the end of the zipper out, breaking it.

I now have a coat with a zipper that comes apart at the bottom with even the slightest strain, such as sitting in my car. Needless to say, I’m hugely disappointed by this, because it’s otherwise one of the best coats I’ve ever worn, but it’s impractical to continue wearing as long as the zipper keeps popping out.

I bought this coat for my husband for Christmas this year. He loved the coat, but after wearing it a few times noticed that the zipper was faulty and kept splitting open from the bottom. I reached out to support to get an exchange started and they told me I could return the coat and that after I do I should call the customer service number to get my replacement shipped.

I called customer service today after sending back the faulty coat and after sitting on hold for 45 minutes finally reached a customer service rep. I learned that I basically have to just buy a new coat and will get refunded for the original eventually.

This was not explained to me during my original conversation with support. I can’t believe such a large company does not have a better process for exchanges, especially when the original product was faulty from the factory.

So overall frustrated with the whole experience and will not be purchasing from Columbia again.

This jacket is unlined and is unsuitable for weather that is colder than 35 degrees. It is windproof and waterproof, but it is lacking any lining that would make it a cold weather jacket. Guess what? I bought it for ICE FISHING, not for wearing indoors.

That is why I’m unhappy with this product. My old Ice Armor suit is magnitudes warmer than this. This is fine for a early spring/ late fall jacket. Definitely not for what it is advertised for.

Used for 1 season well didn’t make it that far… entire crotch seam tore out one day from simply sitting down! The whole seam tore right in half very poor quality and they were not warm to begin with I switched to striker.

Clam really isn’t what it used to.

I must say this jacket and matching bibs made me nice and cozy on the ice. I was warm but not sweaty. I had on a long sleeve tshirt and this parka. Bottoms were the matching bibs and a pair of fatigues and that’s it.

Got them both on sale and will never need another set!.

Love this coat. It’s replacing a much-worn Transcendant Hoody that finally gave up so many feathers that it just doesn’t do the job anymore below 20 degrees. It’s interesting that some reviews say this isn’t as warm as the aforementioned.

I find that it is MUCH warmer. It’s got a higher fill than the Transcendant and it’s much loftier all over. it’s not even close. An although lofty, it’s not so much so that I can’t throw on a shell or anorak over it easily.

I live in Northern Minnesota where (at the time of this writing) we’re already seeing temps in the negative teens. I can wear a light fleece under this and I’m good to go for normal activities. As for the sizing, I wear a large in everything and this is no different.

I have wider shoulders and I’ll sometimes run across other products that bind under the arms as a result. I’ve yet to try on any O. R. product that gives me this issue. I will say that the Coldfront fits just a wee bit more snug around the mid-section and hips than the Transcendant, but it’s also a little bit longer, which I like.

This also makes it easier to over-layer. I also have slightly longer arms than some large jackets can accommodate, but this one is right on. I haven’t found the zipper to be especially annoying at the chin/neck area as others have mentioned, but if it’s cold enough to require zipping up that high, I usually have a neck gaiter on anyway and perhaps I don’t think about it.

My only minor gripe is the lack of a zippered breast pocket. Perhaps this was to keep a certain styling in tact in that area or perhaps to keep the insulation uniform. I’d be willing to give up a little down in that area to have that nice, warm, convenient pocket for my phone or wallet.

The inner drop-in pockets are just too spacious to contain something like a phone safely. (so minus 1/2-star) As for longevity, we’ll see. but I’m hopeful of the shell material chosen for this jacket.

I like this jacket so much I ended up purchasing a second for my father, we’re different body shapes but I purchased a size large for both of us. I’m 6’3″, 210, 43-44″ chest, 36″ arm length, 34″ waist; its not quite “fitted” on me but I think it fits great and is what I was expecting (fits well enough that I can wear with just a single layer underneath or I can easily add a baselayer and fleece if I wanted to.

I’ve worn this in the mountains and to a nice dinner on the same day. My father is 5’11, 220, thicker than me in the midsection but the jacket fits him great albeit with slightly less room for layers than myself.

I think it’s now his favorite midlayer jacket as it is mine too. The jacket is suitable to wear on its own in or you could wear an upsized shell over it on really cold days for winter sports. You can also dress it up or dress it down, good warmth.

Really flexible! If you’re looking for a packable puffer this is definitely on the big end of the spectrum, I typically won’t use it in that manner, try it on and test pack it if that’s what you’re after.

As for features, the pouch pockets on the inside are a nice, big enough for gloves/toques/glasses etc but not obstructive. If anything, I wish there was a small zippered pocket and I wish the main zipper was two-way.

I really appreciate the OR logo is subtle on the sleeve and not massive on the jacket – funny enough, friends have noticed and commented that its a classy touch. Not many brands do that. We’ll see how it holes up long term! Looks to be well made.

I was not able to locate a store that had one in stock, so I took a chance an ordered one online to be shipped. I found it true to fit so far as size, although a bit boxy in shape which is fine but once in a while I get a little draft up the backside.

I bought this a little large because I’m apt to wear a thick sweater under it. I found the pull strings for contouring adjustments to be not quite as effective as I would have liked. I was looking for a waterproof/windproof jacket that would keep me warm shoveling show, walking on the beach or just getting to work and this fits those needs very well.

I like the design of the shoulder area, plenty of room for movement, but the sleeves feel slightly short (atypical for me). Those internal cuffs make up for it along with the Velcro exterior wrist straps.

I can easily stay warm with a good pair of ski gloves added to the mix. I like the removable hood and the fact that the faux fur is able to be unzipped and removed from the hood was even better (not a fan of it, it just looks so cheap).

The number of pockets STILL get me excited! This thing is warm as toast, almost too much when shoveling, but I am thrilled with this purchase and have no regrets.

My favorite all-time jacket was a Patagonia down parka, so perhaps my hopes were a bit high, but even so. basically this jacket is not the best deal. The cons: the collar is stiff and awkward, with no soft lining like the Down With It Parka, and as a result, it jabs uncomfortably into your neck when you walk, even when unzipped.

Given the good quality of the fabric, you’d think they’d put a heavy duty zipper on this coat, but the zipper feels too slim and flimsy for the jacket, like it’s not going to last. And the rubberization on top of the zipper also makes it stiff, affecting the way the fabric hangs.

Basically it gives you a rounded bosom and a rounded belly, which is not super flattering. As another reviewer pointed out, the pockets are particularly shallow. I’ve worried that my keys will fall out of the pocket when I want to walk with my hands in my pockets, so I keep them zippered.

But I love walking with my hands in my pockets! I was also a bit disappointed with the level of warmth. It’s warm enough, but nothing special. My $60 Uniqlo jacket from a few years back is the same level of warmth, and it’s much lighter and thinner than the Patagonia.

The pros: the deep slate blue color is unique and the fabric is high quality and seems to be more waterproof than the Down With It parka. Some people don’t like the smallness of the hood, but I didn’t mind that, it’s not fashionable looking but it fits snuggly on my head keeping the wind out.

Overall, I thought maybe I was sacrificing form for function, but this jacket doesn’t really deliver on either front. Sorry Patagonia, I still loved that old jacket! Backcountry has been great with customer service, and are facilitating an exchange.

so many faults with this jacket. 1. when zipped up, it hits your neck or chin since theres way too little space when zipped up — did the designers forget that people have a chin? 2. there is only 1 interior pocket, and its very far up your chest and far too small.

it barely fits my cardholder, let alone most phones. 3. the exterior hand pockets happen to be the perfect size for my phone (pixel 6) to get stuck inside if it gets into a horizontal position. 4. the hand cuff design was a nice idea, but poorly executed as the down makes it look like its flaring out, and looks silly.

5. for a 700 fill jacket, you’d think it’d be light but its actually heavier than my 800 and 850 fill power jackets. the materials also feel cheap (subjective i guess).

This is my first Patagonia product. I want to start by saying I find the jacket is warm however my issue is related to the design/functionality of the coat. I find it extremely frustrating that with this length there is a split seam in the back.

If I have to bend down or get into the car I have to pull the bottom of the coat up And if I don’t then when I sit on it or bend down it really pulls the upper body and makes it difficult to have full functional use of my arms.

I am surprised this wasn’t thought of during the design phase. This was a gift so I couldn’t have found this issue during the trying on process. I don’t think I would recommend this. Functionality needs to be thought about during Design.

Saskatchewan January. I took hour long walks and hikes in temperatures ranging from minus 15 to minus 35 before windchill. This coat is quite wind proof and the insulation is very good. I added a thermal long sleeved shirts once the wind chill went below minus 30.

I stayed comfortable in these conditions except for my hands. My only concern is that the hood doesn’t cinch down as tightly as I would like.

Great winter coat! Warm but light weight and fits true to size. The reflective bands at cuff are excellent especially when walking at night but they tuck away out of sight when you don’t want them. Length is perfect for warmth and comfort as well.

Perfect fit for an online purchase! Great quality! Not sure if I will buy online again though. security tag came on two of our items so we had to proceed to the store anyways to have it removed by a staff member who told us high priced items are left with tags to prevent items “falling out of the truck” when being transported! Defeated the purpose of an online purchase if I am being forced to go into a store to have security tags removed! Was not impressed!.

Warm and well-made, this coat was a bargain at $50. That being said, there are a few cons to the pros. Bigger pockets, please. Coats meant for bad weather need pockets big enough for bad weather gloves and hats.

The zippers could use bigger tabs for use with heavy winter gloves. The little light on the pull tab? What’s the point. It can’t get wet and you can’t replace the battery. Except for that light, those cons apply to almost all heavy weather coats.

I purchased this several months ago in September. It came in a plastic bag in a box. Instructions says to let it air out and expand. The temperature finally got below 30 degrees fahrenheit. It expanded alright just like a packaged puffer should expand.

I am perfectly comfortable, not feeling any cold. I got the XXL Tall, it fits like a glove. The pockets are soft inside, no gloves needed. I bought an additional color in December and now I am going for a another color now.

What more can you ask for, for less than $55.

Bought this on deep sale to wear as a warm layer under a rain jacket from a different brand, since Lands End stopped offering the Squall system with zip-in functionality. I’m 6′ tall, 175# and I wear a 40 regular suit.

This jacket fits nicely over a sweater. I can live with only two pockets because this is meant to be an inner layer, so I’ll generally be using pockets on the outer shell. Warm so far – hasn’t gotten too cold yet in my part of the country so can’t say yet if it’s functional below about 25.

Fabric is fairly flimsy: Pinched a sleeve in the snap closure of one pocket and it created a little hole where some down came out. Considered returning because I can’t be worried about snags and rips.

For that reason only, I would not recommend this product.

I bought this coat a little over 2 weeks ago. It arrived promptly with other items. I love the lightweight feel of the coat, yet it feels warm. Haven’t really tested in a harsher colder temps, but so far does the job.

The only disappointment I have is that the zipper has begun to separate and come apart on two occasions. I was able to get it back on track, but that is not a good sign after wearing it for about a week.

We will see how it goes from here.

It’s light and warm, also fashionable looking. My 7-yo son loves it. This is his second SAM coat in a few years. He actually likes it better than his moncler because of the double zippers.

I’ve been eyeing this coat for a while now but it was never in stock in the size and color I wanted. I FINALLY saw it on the app and there was one left and it was a sign that I needed to buy!! I am so so happy with this coat.

It’s perfect for days that I need a little more fashion in my outerwear than my other coats and the color is GORGEOUS!! 10/10 recommend.
