20 Best Wind Up Alarm Clock (2023 Updated)

Clocky is a great alarm clock for people with sleep disorders like me. My narcolepsy makes getting out of bed difficult but w clocky I at least wake up and can attempt to stay out of bed. if I have the motivation that morning lol.

I think for the average person w sleep issues it could be great but my sleepiness seems to overpower my desire to turn it off most days. That’s not a fault on clocky though! I did have some issues with getting it to work after about only a month but when I finally messaged customer service about it they were quick to respond and detailed in their help.

As for using the product itself it’s pretty self explanatory but can be a little confusing with adjusting certain settings i. e. snooze. I definitely recommend glancing at the manual first. No volume adjustment either but I don’t have a need for it! Regardless, when clocky works it works great, and it feels good to know the company is there to help you asap if you need it.

I have struggled with keeping a normal sleeping schedule my entire life. A month or so ago, it got so bad that I slept through hours of alarms only to wake up after sunset and hate myself, so I bought this alarm.

I put the little thing halfway across the room and set it for 9am. It has multiple sounds that play seemingly randomly and every single one is loud and annoying. Even the sound of the wheels moving is annoying, like a kid’s toy car.

I hate it so much. Now I have to get out of bed (which I’ve done in the past with my phone across the room but just went back to bed), fumble around to get the little guy, then press the right thing to turn it off.

By the time I’ve done all that, I’m actually awake enough to force myself not to return to bed. I haven’t failed to get up by 9:03 since I got it like a month ago. I love this horrible, adorable little alarm clock.

I got the white and the black clocky. Cute sounds remind me of a famous blue and white intergalatic robot. The fact that it jumps off the night stand and runs away forces me to get out of bed. but I can easily turn it off and climb back in.

Not Clocky’s fault, though! I haven’t yet explored the snooze options (I have the snooze option turned off) but it’s possible that might help get me out of bed for good (after chasing it down multiple times).

Definitely take the time to read the instructions since the button layout and labels aren’t intuitive. You’ll also need to find a small screwdriver so have that ready to go along with your 4x AAA batteries!.

Being able to adjust how fast (or slow) to obtain a consistent correct time is a help. I have to wind it twice a day and the winding key hurts the fingers. Its not as good as the one our family had when I was a child, but its keeping better time than my battery operated atomic clock.

Its alarm is dependable and easy to use. The quality (cheap winder and setting keys) don’t warrant the expense. It would have been a good buy at$5 less!.

Very nice windup clock. Ran perfectly right out of the box. No regulation required. We enjoy the tick tock sound of the old fashion style clocks. We have purchased some other models recently, but they don’t compare to this one.

Well worth the money.

It’s awkward to turn off when you have just woken up. It needs constant winding up. A full wind does not last more than twelve hours and it is difficult to adjust for correct and accurate time.

Battery operated, no wind up, very loud alarm, my old wind up kept me up with the loud ticking, it finally went out after 20 years so I bought this new one, fist it’s very quiet no ticking, secondly there is a backlight button, I can finally see the time without having to turn on a light, hit the round button on back and instant time is visible in pitch black.

Alarm is weak and alarm set is not consistent. My purchase may simply be an exception to a good timepiece. It does keep good time.

We thought the color was more of a teal / aqua than it is. Also, we purchased this for a restroom to help time hand washing to improve hand hygiene at our house, and the second hand has strange speed / movement.

It does seem to keep time accurately; however it rotates smoothly through all of the numbers rather than stopping or pausing momentarily at each one, which makes it odd to time hand washing. It isn’t a bad item, just not what we really expected.

The glow in the dark hands stop glowing after 2 or 3 hours of darkness. The alarm setting is not accurate – several minutes before or after it is set for. I doesn’t work well at all if it is set for 15 minutes after the hour or 15 minutes before the hour.

I wanted a clock that doesn’t make an audible tick to replace a clock I’ve had for many years. This clock is a suitable replacement and doesn’t have any glaring lights – as in digital clocks. It does “what it says on the tin” The look is great and really does resemble a retro clock but the quality isn’t quite as good as my old one.

This would be a good travel alarm clock, or a handy little back-up alarm. It has a decently loud alarm (electronic beep). It takes 1 AA battery. I love that it’s a basic little alarm clock: No plugging in, No charging docks, No blutooth nonsense.

You use dials on the back to set the clock and alarm hand, there is a button on top to kill the alarm. The battery means that a power outage won’t ruin your morning, or get you in trouble with your boss! THE ONLY CON: the clock face is really small.

If you’re nearsighted, or morning-fuzzysighted, you kind of just have to take the buzzer’s word for the time. I hope this company comes out with a larger version of this great little clock – their target demographic needs a BIGGER display!.

the photo clearly illustrates a yellow green housing. The mint green I received is a light blue/turquoise color. You need to make sure the images accurately show the right color.

Got this as a gift. Wanted a little bigger but I should have looked at the dimensions in the product overview.

TOTALLY QUIET. I LIKE THE BELL ALARM INSTEAD OF A BUZZER TO WAKE ME. LOUD ENOUGH IF THE CLOCK IS NEAR TO YOU. IF YOU ARE A REAL HARD SLEEPER IT MIGHT NOT IF ACROSS A ROOM.

While not entirely quiet it has no ticking. Alarm bell will wake the dead, might be too loud for some. Luminous hands work quite well, and when they finally are hard to see in the morning there’s a light button.

Clock runs slower when battery gets low (no sudden death).

This travel clock had a loud bell alarm which is good for waking those who have trouble hearing. It’s a little disappointing that it is so large to easily pack in luggage. Otherwise and excellent choice.

I love the mission and look Loftie has, and I hope one day your company can achieve that mission and look. Unfortunately, I feel as though I have been misled. Your promotional videos and photos show Loftie automatically going into blackout mode when the lights are off (turns out you have to touch a button to do that).

It also shows Loftie awake and functioning with no plug. Loftie has to be connected in order to be on (which is really unfortunate as I have missed two alarms, one due to a power outage in my town and the second to the back cable getting pulled out during the night).

On top of this, it still doesn’t have the ability for me to customize my alarms from music on my iPhone (which I get that hopefully, you will be able to soon). I am really disappointed with the Loftie product at this point.

I was totally willing to spend the money on what was marketed to me but that turned out to not be the case. I just submitted a return for mine. I’d like to be hopeful to purchase it again once they are a bit further along with development.

Ability to function when unplugged for at least an alarm cycle that ways I don’t have to back up each time we have bad weather with my iPhone, and a setting for automatic blackout once the lights are turned off, compatibility with extensions, etc.

Your product is not worth what you are asking customers to pay. I will be willing to spend the money once you are able to deliver what you are marketing.

We were initially optimistic on trying the features Loftie offers. Unfortunately, we experienced nothing but problems. 1) The initial set up in connecting to Wifi to update Loftie kept failing about 75% of the way through the process.

Finally after several attempts – more than 24 hours – the set up process completed. OK – seriously. why should it be so hard to set up a basic alarm clock? This initially left the first negative impression.

2) Once using the sounds and setting the volume, we were not able to easily set the proper volume. The sounds intended to play at night to help you fall asleep were way too quiet and we couldn’t hear them.

Once we increased the volume – hoping we had it now correct for the morning, the morning alarm volume was WAY too loud and would jolt us awake. Not quite the experience we had expected given its ability to play soothing nature sounds.

Again, we tried many times to find the right adjustment. After 2 weeks of constant frustration, we are returning it and now seeking something better. This should be a simple item and should “just work”.

The design of this is lousy and way too complicated. Fortunately, the company has made it easy enough to return it for a complete refund and they cover the shipping costs to return it as well.

Although this clock is aesthetically beautiful and sounds great in theory the technology is lacking compared to what I was anticipating from Loftie’s advertisements. The clock does not have as wide of a variety of sounds as I would have hoped.

The alarms don’t allow to to control specific variables, such as snooze time or volume for the wake up tone vs alarm tone independent of each other. The Loftie app has difficulty with changes sticking, for example if I change the alarm time and hit save the change does not actually save or reflect on the clock itself.

I usually have to resolve this by unpairing and repairing or powering off my Loftie. Again, in theory Loftie sounds amazing. But the software is really lacking. For where it’s at in it’s product and software development the price is pretty steep.

I wouldn’t recommend this to friends or family at this time. If I was able to still return mine I probably would until drastic improvements have been made.

It is really cute and well made. I like how easy it is to read. The size was perfect for my bathroom shelf. It is not silent however. I got it to use in my bathroom though so I am ok with that. I don’t think that I could sleep with its sound.

Just something to consider if you need silence to sleep.

Ordered a “Big Ben”; received a Westclox. Believe made by same company, identical except name on face and price. Price difference refunded. Happy with clock: loud alarm and accurate.

We get what we pay for and when we buy this cheap Chinese junk we’re doing nothing but hurting ourselves in the long run. This clock will not ring although the little hammer dinger will move one time until it touches the first bell and it stops then.

As in almost all these cheap import items that use batteries the plastic battery cover latch is so thin and weak it breaks off the first time used. I did super glue this one and will see how long it stays together.

The last problem is one of the legs fell off and could not be found until the vacuum cleaner sucked it out of the carpet at which point you had no doubt is was at least made of some type of metal. Won’t be long until this poor quality is all we have and then watch the prices go up.

I bought this when my LG gave out and I was waiting for a repair estimate. The laundry is not cheap either, so I thought I might as well put my money into something I get to keep. This puts very clean clothes! First load, accidentally brushed against water outlet hose and left the pool, dripping water all over the floor, causing concern about an electric shock.

No kidding when they say to keep children and pets away from it. Water out of the hose fast and powerful, so be careful. Secure the hose with perhaps a small band of Velcro, to something close, so do not go out and cause all kinds of misery.

Don’t oversoap (powder use), do not overload and stay close. I would describe the ability of this thing so small emergency loads. Perfect for a college student any time, you can keep a family looking for a little time, but not much more.

I put 2 large bath towels and a washclothes (which I used to clean the water on the floor) and I felt like pushing in terms of capacity. But they were wet and heavy. It was pretty easy to put together and very easy to level.

In short, a good quality product in terms of the wash basket and the available settings. The sides are plastic was not too concerned about, but is portable. It’s powerful and relatively quiet. Also perfect for washing delicate garments, separated, etc, while the machine is making great most demanding loads.

However, if it is to be used that way, it does take a little work to set it and drain it when finished. In all honesty, at some point, you will probably decide it’s too much work to do regularly when I have a working machine, and kept it until the next emergency.

But I’m definitely not going to return, either! I think also it can help keep the day with clothes, if you have a machine running long cycles.

Originally planned to buy a Whynter BR-1211DS beef dry aging but decided to give it a try this unit because the Whynter was exhausted and usually lasts about $ 80 more expensive. There is a great review of “Adam” on the Amazon list for BR-1211DS Whynter entering the process, so it is not immersed in IT here.

Observations: 1. The temperature does not go as low as indicated. With assembly 34F mines, temperature cycling of air between 36F and 40F. A probe into the meat stuck stabilized at 37. 5. This is good for dry aging: Just know that you can not count on the digital display.

2. The buttons are not really buttons. The instrument panel is printed on soft cloth and controls are not very satisfactory to the press because no touch feedback. 3. The top rack is shorter due to the instrument panel; It is 5 inches tall.

That’s still enough to squeeze in a boneless rack of ribs; Costco mine was on the large side and stood at 4. 5 inches height. Overall, I am very satisfied. I reckon if I had used my space more efficiently if you ask the butcher to cut to a specific size, there could be in the form of a roast 16+ pounds in each rack.

For reference, my photo shows a roast fraction of 22 pounds in two, with each half on a shelf.

The most basic little electric clock imaginable, this has two buttons to change the time and a button to set the alarm. The readout is clear. Haven’t used the alarm, so can’t comment on that. I gave the clock four stars because it was cheap and functional (at least, it still is after a week – if it quits or loses/gains time, I’ll update this rating).

I took away a star because in a quiet room, it emits a noticeable hum. I have other inexpensive electric clocks which make no noise at all.

Old school is the way to go! We’ve tried fancier alarm clocks that have sputtered out in a very short amount of time, so getting something that is more expensive with all of the bells and whistles does not equal better.

The green display is not blinding bright and yes, the alarm is loud but it’s meant to wake you from sleep to start your day. We have no complaints with this little slice of heaven and would most definitely purchase again.

Very solid product and very reasonably priced!.

This is a perfect clock. It is self-explanatory, the green lighting is very low light; in fact, if you turn the clock away from the bed, you really don’t even see any light. The alarm is not overwhelming or shocking , and the snooze bar is large enough to hit simply by touching the clock.

It is also fairly small. To me, this is a perfect bedside clock. However, it is only a clock. It does not play music, charge your phone or fill your room with babbling brook noises. It’s just a clock.

Cute white-face analog clock. Had it about a week and like it a lot. I hope itll continue to keep accurate time. That has been the issue Ive had with other purchases of clocks like thisnot sure what brand.

This clock is made from a more well known brand so Im hoping that will mean the product lasts long after the box and receipt are long gone. Clock comes in many colors and is a great size to sit on a book shelf or desk or b a TV.

This is the second Westclox alarm I have purchased in the past month. I had to return the first one because the alarm didn’t always work. It would sound properly one day, then not sound at all the next.

This one worked properly for six days and now it is doing the same thing the first one did. I will not a Westclox clock again!.

The clock is adorable! However, I purchased this particular alarm clock with the understanding that the nightlight would stay on – Light does NOT STAY ON!! So disappointed! I wanted to be able to wake up during the night and actually see what time it was without having to reach over my husband or visa-versa.

Therefore, I had to return.

Looks just like the photo!! Very cute little clock and fit into the space just like I’d hoped! I was a little disappointed that there’s no option for the light to stay on – you just push a button for the light – as soon as you let up on the button the light goes off.

The clock is very cute and nostalgic. (4 stars) It is an Alarm clock but I thought the alarm would be the Bells on the top. The ALARM IS NOT LOUD AND NOT BELLS. I need those bells to wake up. I will keep it just the same.

I loved the look of this clock for my bedroom, but after only using it for less than 2 months the alarm function no longer works, which I found out the hard way by being late for work. Too late to return it, I would recommend this if you only want a clock.

and don’t need the alarm. Will probably now put it in my bathroom.

This is the worst alarm on the planet!!! Amazing the first use and wore out by the second use!!! Lost me a very important job!!! Disappointed

I bought a red one before, and thought I would change to blue. However, when I saw it I exchanged it for a red one. My personal taste was a solid color. It works great.

The Newgate table clock is a very neat piece. I had my concerns about the quality but confirm that the piece is very beautifully manufactured. There is the classic alarm ring which I love and the smooth sweep is fascinating.

Great looking clock, great sounding clock (loud ringing bells definitely do the wake-up trick), but unfortunately those bells are most likely not going to be ringing at the precise time you want them to.

Why? Because this is a clock that sacrificed function for design. If the bells don’t have you wanting to throw the darn thing to its brutal death against the nearest wall, the inefficiency of setting the alarm for a precise time surely will.

It’s diabolical. Best you can hope for is to set it with 5-10 minutes of the actual wake-up time you want. Newgate let us down.

The clock is a throwback to a different time. We love the design, the alarm is loud so you will not sleep through it and it keeps perfect time. Ease of ordering as well as an affordable price with the Magnolia name to back it!.

I have used lumie products for more than 30 years. The range of products has increased but the quality has gone down. This clock is a case in point. It has the basic functionality that you would expect (the fade-in sunrise function, a display that is not too bright during the night) but the manufacturers have inexplicably added a alarm that increases in tempo if you don’t turn it off very quickly.

The experience is like being hit around the head with a baseball bat. None of the clocks that I bought in the past had this function, and none of the cheaper clocks in the range do it either. It is as if the manufacturers added it to punish you for not buying a more expensive option.

Can we just have a basic model that has the essential functionality, please? NB it is worth noting (because this is the mistake that we already made) that the Sunrise Alarm does not even have the fade-in sunrise function: the light comes on in steps that jerk you awake.

Why would lumie even sell such a product?.

I bought this alarm because I was returning to the office & knew I couldn’t rely on naturally waking up in time anymore once commute etc is factored in. I couldn’t face going back to that jarring iPhone alarm ! Anyway I read all the reviews – thought it’s too good to to be true and ordered it anyway (in the Black Friday sale) – it’s a lot to spend & I did worry about it but honestly it’s one of the BEST investments I’ve made in the last few years.

I even set it on days I don’t have to get up because I love waking up to the light and the birds and I set it a bit earlier on the days I do have to get up to so I can lie and listen to it for 5 mins as it makes me smile.

I love the sunset feature as well & use it most nights with the thunderstorm or crickets sound. Also the digital display can be set so that it doesn’t show at night unless you tap the lamp. This was important to me because I need complete darkness to sleep & also I don’t like clock watching at night so it’s perfect.

Basically I couldn’t do without this alarm now :-).

OK product but could be better. 1/ Illuminated numbers are too bright for me, even when dimmed. In a dark room when your eyes are adjusted to that, there’s a significant pool of light from the clock 2/ Control buttons such as +/- aren’t illuminated at all, making it more difficult to find them in the dark.

The glow from the main display makes this harder, not easier. If these were very gently lit, it would make them easier to find 3/ Why do you have to set the alarm every night? Never had to do this on any other clocks, it needs a setting where you get the same sequence every morning Overall: Product Management need to be more customer-centric.

This is the second Lumie we’ve had, we bought the top-of-the-range 750DAB last year and returned it because the snooze wouldn’t work no matter where you tapped or hit it, or how hard!.

Product is really nice and loud – but the directions are required to use the product – it is nothing you can figure out on your own – and believe me, if you set off the alarm without having a handle on the instructions, you are in trouble – you will be pulling off the battery case to shut the thing off.

While the options for the machine are nice, again, it is not easy to use – you have to slide a switch here, hold down two keys there. Love the product and a great item to bug a child who refuses to get up, but be prepared for the child to throw the alarm out the door, and then go back to sleep.

Just getting some kids out of bed is enough. However, after a couple of times hiding the alarm in the room, I haven’t had to use it. It has promise, but I have scanned the directions AND copied them and pasted them to the back of the alarm.

I’ve used one of these for years and it always works great. This is the only alarm clock I have had that is loud enough to consistently wake me from the deepest sleep. It’s absolutely not kidding LOUD.

That said, I have read in some reviews that the clock jumps ahead when cancelling the alarm. This is because cancelling the alarm requires pressing the same 3 buttons that set the clock. I have found that this will not occur if you press the key button on the front LAST while holding the other two in.

Having learned that, it’s not a problem. Also, you will have to set the alarm each time it is used. It does not remain set each day like most do. This is good though because as loud as this thing is, you do NOT want it to go off accidentally if you plan to sleep in.

the clock is perfect! if u woulndt awake after the ring! ur arent be alive if u arent still listen the max out sound when are u sleeping ur neighborth honest here that and knock so long that u wakeup.

but if not they call the fire depardment after the firealarm ringtone and the fireman open ur door with a picaxe and than are u certain wakup if u got the 20. 000 euro bill for the wrong rescue mission u will not sleep also the next time because u realy need to save much money without a good liabilityinsurance.

I got this clock about two weeks ago and have really enjoyed it. It’s a nice little clock{about 4 inches wide and 3. 5 inches high}. The numbers are nice and big making it easy to read. It has a blue night light on it that you can adjust to get it just the way you want it.

The clock has easy-to-set controls to set the time and the alarm as well. The snooze button is in a good location — on top,making it easy to push{you can push the snooze button many times}. Vermont Country Store offers several clocks — including a digital electric clock and some battery operated clocks too.

But I wanted to get this analog clock so I could see the the whole face! And I really didn’t want to bother with any battery operated clocks. And as others have said and probably most important of all,this clock keeps great time! That’s because the instruction sheet says it’s a quartz clock,meaning that these clocks are very accurate! As I said,this is a great little clock and I have really enjoyed it.

I’m glad I got it!.

I am very happy with the Equity Analog Alarm Clock I purchased from Vermont Country Store. I had for some time now missed my old analog alarm clock, and after choosing mistakenly a digital alarm clock that was not meant for someone like me.

Simplicity is what I like best.

I had been looking for a “plug in” analog clock that would simply stop when the power goes out, instead of going to 12:00 and blinking. That way I can tell how long the outage was. I don’t need it for the alarm feature, just the fact that it is an old fashioned clock.

It sets on top of my microwave in the kitchen, so the blue light functions as a night light for the kitchen as well. I was a bit disappointed to find that the whole thing seems to be made of cheap plastic and the knobs to set the time seem kind of loose and wobbly, but with no more often than I will have to reset the time, it should work for quite a while.
