Best Wifi Landscape Lighting Controller (2024 Updated)

Excellent product! It endured quite the snow fall, the wind and heavy rain. Functions with Alexa so I could ask Alexa to turn it off from the comfort of my sofa when it was too windy for the inflatables it was powering, it also blended well with the lawn so it was not taking away from my decor.

Overall A. Would absolutely recommend.

Extremely easy to set up and add to our internet. Connects to Alexa via the “skills” function which allows us to set up a time specific routine to turn on our Halloween lights outside. So far it has survived wind and rain and still functions as advertised.

While our last Rain Bird controller was a little easier to program, these units are very well made and headache free. The instruction pamphlet was easy to follow. Our last unit was here when moved in 22 years ago, and was most likely here many years before that.

We never had a problem with it until it decided to “retire. ” I didn’t purchase the Wi-Fi module yet for the new unit, but probably will do so.

I was looking for an astronomic timer that would come on at sunset, go off at midnight, back on at 5:00 am, and off again at sunrise. The Kichler timer shuts the lights off about 45 minutes BEFORE sunrise, while it is still dark outside.

Apparently there is an issue with the cloud based database for astronomic settings and my area of Florida or zip code isn’t right. There doesn’t seem to be anything I can do except wait for a third party cloud service to correct the database issue.

The very small hardware (washers, nuts) that hold the antenna in place are so small and delicate that they are going to be lost in the turf if they are dropped during installation.

Ability to control on/off programming and schedule setting is very easy. Customers ability to utilize App is also simple and easy. It is a bonus that no additional hardware is required to give customers phone/app control over their timers.

Pre-set functions are nice (dusk to dawn, dusk to midnight, etc) – next round of updates would be nice to control specific off times while using on at dusk start times. Timer can be used on any electric device for on/off control – a real bonus for more than just outdoor lighting!.

I used this timer to go into a transformer box that was not made/sold by Kichler. It barely fit height-wise and the plug on the bottom right side blocks the breaker switch. Ideally the timer would have been 1/8″ shorter and the plug receptacle would have been on the right top.

I made it work by clipping the breaker switch off making it shorter to clear the plug. Would have preferred not to have to do that.

Fibaro Modules are always good, I use all mine (10+) through Smart Things that used to work really well, the new version not so good. looking to migrate it over to Apple Home or Fibaro Hub. I have used most versions of Fibaro modules including Ver1 & 2 of these RGBW controllers, on my LED lighting all over.

Great units.

Running RGBW IP65 LED strips. So far, they are working great. I have a small issue working out how to associate the two that I have but other than that they are providing a stable Z-Wave connection and have a large list of configurable.

Works fine on openhab although took me a sec about what channel to play with and how to set the options I wanted.

Buggy. works ok but controller within Tablet app is very buggy, even on Phone app. can control it fine from HC2 interface just fine. don’t know if this is the app’s fault or the device its self. have read on the fibaro forums people having issues with this new module.

In process of home automation using Home Assistant. That dimmer worked perfectly with Home Assistant. Installation: Easy, probably after installing a bunch of Lutron Caseta switches, that one was easier, even though it needs neutral wire.

The only concern was the body of the dimmer. Was a little too big, but I was able to jam it into box. Had to push wires all the way back before pushing dimmer into a box. Setup: very easy. App found device immediately, and then Home Assistant found dimmer on the network.

Dimming levels: Dimmer controls GU10 bulbs and going from 0% to 100% was smooth. Was able to dim to almost 1% with no flickering in all levels. Cons: Main button a little hmmm, how can I say – not clicky.

It does not produce any clicks, which would be nice. The cover plate was a little hard to remove initially. Not sure, if it will be easy to remove later on, even though I do not see a reason unless dimmer will die.

If you are looking to get into smart home switches or plugs, look no further than TP-Link. They make high quality products with end users in mind. In the case of the dimmer switch, they make installation very straightforward and pairing it with your app easy.

I like TP-Link products because they do not require a hub (just an app), and it pairs easily with both Google and Amazon products for voice activation. Compared to other brands I have tried, TP-Link products also hold Wi-Fi connection better than others.

As far as dimmer capabilities, I am impressed with the switch’s smoothness in dimming. You can adjust the minimum dimming range within the app, so this works well for both LED and incandescent fixtures.

A cool feature for a child’s room is the double tap to slow fade out.

First of all a personal recommendation If you have not knowledge of electrical work save yourself a big headache and a lot of trouble and let an expert do it for you. I have been doing automation for a few years now and this is, so far, the best product for the price.

they are fairly easy to install, no more difficult than a normal smart switch anyway. The price is very good compared to other brand that do the exactly the same thing. The integration is very easy and the echo device detects the switch as soon it connects the your network.

Of course first you will have to set up a kasa account and link it to your Alexa account. Another think you have to make sure is that you have the neutral wire (usually white) on the box. Because these and all the smart switches are actually relays and they need to be powered at all times and the only way that works if they have both hot and neutral in the box.

As you can see from the pictures, if you install them correctly they fit and look good in a 3 gang box. of course the inside of the box is pretty crowded do to all the cables and the fact that the switch has a bigger box for the wifi and relay but other than that this is one of my favorite switches so far.

As a matter of fact i purchased 4 more. I just installed them a few days ago and i will definitely update this review in the near future Updated 5/8/20 I am up to 13 switches and could not be any happier My house is really smart Updated on 6/20/20 I am now up to 19 switches and 2 dimmers and everything works great I have a few minor complaints The face plates are difficult to mount flash to the wall.

I am OCD about certain things and I actually had to modify the plates to make them fit the way I liked them But that is just me The other issue i have is that in the Alexa app itself all my devices are duplicated and it drives me nuts.

I already went through all the troubleshooting and they still there. Hopefully it will be fixed.

To address other complaints below: 1. There are numerous 3rd party adapters which allow you to put this switch in a standard decora wall plate…a simple Amazon search will reveal multiple options, I use them all the time.

2. I too would LOVE to see this switch in any kind of black…I frequently design and build dark rooms and the only other hue comparable switch available in the US that come in black or any other colors are the runless wireless clock switches which I hate and they don’t work half of the time.

3. Biggest complaint about these switches and the current situation with HUE period is that they’re constantly sold out of everything I need (basically these switches and the GU10 bulbs) and usually with months long lead times.

Other than all of that these dimmers are great the newest version build quality is significantly better, if you get the hue dynamic app then you can add up to 10 functions per button greatly increasing the amount of pre sets you can cycle through.

Signify, please get your production and supply chain issues sorted so I can keep buying your products!.

I have a house full of V1 switches. They’ve worked well for me for almost a decade. Honestly, they’re basically perfect and changed how I interact with the lights in my house. More than half of my house lights are on these switches.

This v2 redesign adds a failure point: They changed dedicated separate on and off buttons for a on/off toggle. Which means you have to see the lights to know if pushing the toggle will turn them on or off.

If you’re turning outside lights on or off, it used to be that you just hit the button of whatever you want (Irrespective of the state the lights are in) and then walk outside. Now, unfortunately, it’s a toggle, so you have to physically see the lights to know if you’re turning them on or off.

I had thought that wasn’t a big deal, but it’s surprising how often in these old New England houses it makes sense to have a lightswitch inside for an outside area, or at the top of the basement stairs, etc.

On day 2 we had a situation where my wife turned the outside lights off, then I pressed the toggle button and accidentally turned them all back on, then we walked out to the car and had to walk back in to turn them off again.

Hopefully as they build out the software we’ll have some sort of solution for an absolute on button and an absolute off button. But as is, I’m going to have to juggle some old switches into new positions, for any lights we can’t physically see from the switch.

These works perfectly for my older home without a wall switch. Many of my lights had pull switches so without hiring an electrician I was able to hook these up myself. I’m back to buy more and sadly they are out of stock.

On/Off and dimmable, just enough features to keep the remote simple. Many of the so called competitors lights found online have too many features making their remotes confusing. I use these without the hub and just the assigned bulbs work when the remote is pressed.

No need to have my phone nearby.

I purchased this unit to replace an older (still working at 20+ years) Rainbird controller, as I wanted the flexibility of a Wifi enabled unit. I live in SW Florida; during summer we get localized brief but hard rainfall, so I want to override the rain sensor and stop some events as the watering is not needed.

Or test zones on the system. This unit works very well and the Android app is fine. I have used the app on my phone via my Wifi and cell data, works fine. Folks that have issues most likely have poor reception issues.

Easy to install and setup; be advised, I am not an irrigation specialist, but I am technical by nature and vocation.

Kasa makes a great product and we have several devices throughout our home. We have recommended them to many of our friends and family, and they are hooked. While smart home automation is a fun do-it-yourself project, it is important to keep the following in mind: First, it is important to understand your router’s capacity.

Our current router says it can handle up to 40 devices but it is actually doing about 50+. These devices can add up. We are a family of three, and between our phones, laptops, tablets, thermostat, doorbell, garage door, cameras.

you see where I am going with this. Everything adds up. It is important to strategically choose what you want to smart switch: front light, back yard light, garage light, nightstand lamps, etc. You do not want to put a smart switch everywhere.

Next, it is important to pick an A. I. and understand what is compatible with it. For me, I chose Amazon Alexa. I really enjoy having the Amazon speakers throughout the home and being able to tell her to turn on/off certain devices.

Also, Amazon ‘Routine’ allows you to customize how your devices function. For example, I have one that says if the Ring doorbell detects motion between 11pm to 5am, then turn on my Kasa light switch for the front light for 30 minutes.

I have another that says when I come home after 6pm to turn on the house light. It is important to understand what brand your A. I. support. Google Home is another good option that my friends use. I do not know if I can endorse Apple since they are in a universe of their own and you might get trapped using mostly their product only.

Finally, try to streamline your brand. What I mean by that is do not use Kasa light switch for your front light and use a different brand for your backyard light. You may end up with several apps for different purposes.

Going back to the A. I. discussion, Alexa allows me to interact with all my smart devices using my smart speakers. Alexa also allows these devices to interact with one another. At the end of the day, you want to keep it simple.

So far so good. A little tricky to get wired in because my house was wired with all the same color wiring in the switch boxes. Wired up didn’t work. Had to repeatedly flip breaker and try different wiring combinations multiple times before I landed on the correct way.

After that, followed directions in Kasa app in order to connect to my Wi-Fi. Do yourself a favor and turn off your 5Ghz broadcast from your Wi-Fi router first before trying to get the switches connected to your Wi-Fi in the Kasa app.

Also if you are using a current iPhone pull down from top right to get to your iPhone control panel screen. Then hold down on the Wi-Fi icon towards the top left of that panel. Then choose the Kasa Wi-Fi from the Wi-Fi network selections.

After install and setup I downloaded Homebridge and used a Kasa plugin do that I can control the switches thru HomeKit via voice control with Siri or thru HomeKit on my iPhone.

Works exactly as advertised. Fits into existing wall switch fine. I plan to replace several more household switches with these. The App is *awesome*, easy to navigate and includes simple programming for vacation mode, daily programming, etc.

We use this to turn different room lights on at different random times at night while we’re on vacation or away for the weekend. Kasa is at least as easy to use as other much more expensive Smart devices like the Philips Hue – which I love but boy, so Expensive! And proprietary.

Another nice function is the little circular LED light on the switch that allows you to see where the switch is in the dark. It’s just bright enough to see in the dark, but not bright enough to cause a problem, say in a bedroom when you’re trying to sleep.

The only caveat here is, like many current “smart” devices, it only works off 2. 4Ghz WiFi. Had to shut down our 5Ghz band on router for it to work. That was a pain to figure out (router issue not Kasa’s) but now that we figured it out all is well.

Highly recommend.

This is my first Rachio product and I purchased on the advise of my next door neighbor and brother whom both own previous versions. I am glad I took their advice as this controller is nothing short of awesome.

It is well constructed, has easy to understand instructions, was very easy to install, and the app for your smart phone is very well designed and thought out. I’ve been using this device for about 8 weeks now and I am very happy with the results.

The device is hyper intelligent and will run as automated or as manual as you prefer. You can run it every day exactly when you want to, or you can set it up to monitor the weather conditions in your area and allow it to determine when and how much to water.

I have a personal weather station on top of my house and I have connected my Rachio to the weather data received by my PWS. Smart watering is based on actual rain fall amounts at my house and not for some remote weather station miles away from me.

It is obvious Rachio has done their homework and have produced a high quality device that works extremely well. The app is equally amazing and you can run everything from the phone app or from the controller itself.

At a glance you can verify if the system is on-line and connected to wi-fi and if it is actively watering a zone. If you have an Amazon Echo you can control everything through that device. I highly recommend this unit.

I am thoroughly impressed and pleased with my purchase.

The manual timer that came with my house was hard to program And I never could get the cycles how I wanted which resulted in underwatering. Then I bought the cheapest competitor to Rachio and it only worked if you turned off smart features, and even then, it was inconsistent to the point I had to wake up to make sure it was watering.

Then I found Rachio and at a great price online! So I got it and after a couple of weeks of changing settings, mostly in the drip, things are going great. The app is easy to use and reliable. The smart settings allow you to set it and forget it, and you can visually see your plants are getting the water they need through their growth and health.

I love how it flows in the garage, it’s the brain watching over our plants. The one complaint is the advanced settings could have more explanation rather than always referring to the community forums.

Just looking for simple answers to questions. But if you look long enough you’ll find what your looking for. Last thing is the schedules can get confused if you have too many of one type. I wish I could just choose the zone and select smart watering and forget it rather than choosing the time of day as well, I’d like it to figure out the ide time and watering frequency for all of my zones once I tell it what plants, shade, sprinklers, ets are present.

I find the support articles to be. lacking. During the few weeks that I have been setting up zones and schedules, it has become apparent that these articles are directed at landscape professionals rather than homeowners.

Learning how the various advanced settings–which clearly are the most critical–impact watering duration and frequency is, at least initially, a hit-or-miss exercise. As I have become familiar with how changes in the advanced setting affect irrigation, one thing is abundantly clear: a soil moisture meter is absolutely necessary.

I had established duration and frequency settings with my previous controllers and thought that that information would translate to the Rachio controllers. Instead, I found that information to be of limited use.

If someone at Rachio would write a comprehensive set-up guide directed at homeowners explaining step-by-step how to configure zone and schedule settings, it would be a huge step. Also, everything is discussed using inches per hour.

It would be far, far easier if gallons per hour were used as a guide. Most homeowners can figure out gallons per hour pretty easily; inches per hour is much more difficult to figure.

After installing this Brilliant control panel (it took about 15 minutes to change out my standard light switch panel with the Brilliant interface), I switched it on and went through the tutorial – super cool and fun to use.

I have my Spotify music and Sonos system connected to it now and it controls multiple lights. I am planning to connect my Ring doorbell and Nest thermostat to it too. There are tons more uses and ways to connect this panel with smart home products.

We installed it in the kitchen where everyone can access it; the kids like it most and it looks really nice on the wall.

I’m a huge fan of Brilliant devices. They have brought my smart home devices together and simplify the various smart home apps. You need to raise the light switches so the screen is eye level, and you’re good to go.

I’ve had this for a few months now and it’s been an absolute treat, not only can I control almost every smart device in my house I also have the ability to display some of our art for everyone to see.

It’s definitely a conversation piece.

I spent $50. Was my first mistake. Hooked it up, lights came on and would not shut off, even in off position. Went back to Walmart and spent $11 more for a photocell timer. That fixed it and cheaper than sending the power pack back.

Feel fleeced for 7 little lights.

This is a excellent value. I bought it to replace a very old 44 watt transformer which failed. It is well made and was easy to connect. It has now operated flawlessly for a couple of weeks. I had the maximum 10 light fixtures with 4 watt incandescent bulbs connected to the old 44 W box.

With the surplus wattage now available I plan on adding another six or more 4 W lights. Operating the control box at well below its rated capacity of 120 W should considerably extend its lifetime.

I installed a flagpole in my yard and needed a way to lite the flag at night. A power pack just like this one came in a landscape lighting kit I installed several years ago and has performed flawless for several years.

So it was a no brainer to purchase this one as power supply for the spotlight to light my flag. What I like most about this power pack it that it’s not digital. So when the power goes out, and then comes back on I don’t have to worry about resetting it.

I recommend this power pack and would buy it again.

Product comes in open box but looks to be new. No instruction sheet which you would get with any brand new version of this module in a store. Biggest issue I have run into is that the module had been previously included into a Z-Wave network and needed to be EXCLUDED before I could included it into my network.

Took me awhile to figure out this was the problem why it wasn’t showing up. Once I excluded it, then I could include it with no issues. Product is working fine now.

Synced with the controller with no issues as have all the others from this manufacturer. I can’t say for those made be others that I’ve bought.

I worked with these daily as a Vivint Field Service Pro doing installations and service. They work great. There are some newer models but they are twice as expensive. These still do the job great. Should work with just about any zwave control panel.

I purchased two of them expecting i could use one foe a string of outside lights and the other for a fountain with lights. Once installed I found that they operate on the same frequency for the remote control so i cannot use them separately and each time Hit the on button both the light strand and the fountain come on.

I contacted the 800 number on the package and found that the remotes are not programable so there is no way to separate the switches to be used individually. If I had purchased 1 I would have given it 5 stars.

I like this product, just wish it could be used independently.

Philips Remote Controlled Outlet is perfect for indoors and out. Has two outlets so can power more appliances. Perfect for switches that may be hard to get to, but can be turned on and off with tihs remote.

Great for outdoor lights when you want to stay indoors for warmth or safety and an awesome gadget for seniors to turn appliances on and off from the comfort of their bed or chair. Also great when you have a timer hooked up and want to turn it on or off.

Thick coating seems to make it very safe in weather.

After 2 previous ‘green’ versions of the orbit 6 station timer (the 1st unit lasting 20+years, the 2nd 5years) a quick look around the internet had me looking at the Orbit 6-station B-Hyve smart wifi timer.

Reviews were mixed which was cause for concern, however it was in-stock and with the setup similar to that of the older version (thank you youtube), I made the plunge. Out of the box the unit connected to the home wireless, updated itself including the firmware and local time all without issue.

Connecting the wires to the unit is easy and only takes a few minutes. The wireless capability is a big improvement, i can sit in my lounge and operate the unit via my a smart phone app as opposed to walking to the unit – lazy i know.

I did consider disabling all of the wireless functionality as you dont really need however the remote management and monitoring is very cool. Since the app and the timer unit both talk to each other i found it much easier to program the unit itself with zones, times, programs etc then let the unit update the app; which it did perfectly.

I agree with other comments that the app to me felt a little ‘clunky’, i did try to program the app first but gave it away, upon reflection this was more to do with me than the app but i found the config around the program slots frustrating.

Otherwise the app is very comprehensive and can be setup for smart watering and will even download weather updates to adjust watering as required. I only use the basics of the timer, daily watering days/times, 6 zones, 5minutes each zone and some of the remote features such as skip a zone, or manual start/stop watering as required etc.

When the program starts/finishes you can receive a notice on your phone and additionally during operating the app displays which zone is currently operating and runtime remaining – very nice. All in all, its only been a few days of operation so far, but am very happy with the unit.

I love this outdoor outlet! The app was easy to install and setup, and connect with the device, you just use the app to scan the QR code with the device and it does the rest, quick and easy. I really like that this outlet has three separate outlets on it so I can connect, and control independently, three separate devices.

Being able to control my devices from my smartphone instead of having to go outside to control them is a huge convenience, and depending on conditions, a safety factor! I have not had any issues with the app not being able to control my devices, and the outlet so far has not had any issues disconnecting from my wifi.

I also like that I can connect this outlet to Alexa and control it through her if I don’t want to or can’t get to my smartphone to control. I definitely recommend this to everyone!.

This has been working perfectly for our needs. Just plug in and download app, very easy to connect to the network and very easy to use app. We have been using this to control our outdoor lighting by setting up a auto schedule or using app to turn on/off.

Love that I can have them turn on and off automatically especially when I am away. Also great for holiday lights, no need to go outside to turn lights on and off anymore. Exactly what I have been looking for to control my lighting.

This Legrand Smart Outdoor Switch with GFCI with Wi-Fi is a great addition to any household for any reason. When I went on vacation for 4 days I easily turned on and off my outdoor lights when it was dark with ease while being 400+ miles away.

This technology is a huge upgrade from the normal timer lighting because I can turn them on for a few minutes and back off again like I’m really there. Highly recommend this outdoor switch.

I have one flood light in my backyard, but it does not cover the area well. I have an outdoor outlet near an area that is dark at night. I plugged in the receiver and a flood light. The remote works very well with the receiver.

The distance is about 30′ away. The timer options are nice that are on the remote. I set a time and then I don’t have to remember if I turned off the light or not when I go to sleep. I live in the PNW and it is very wet here.

The receiver seems to be protected from the rain. The socket should face down though. I keep it plugged in near my overhand of the house so there isn’t much water that reaches it. The receiver and switch were very simple to set up.

Instructions are very easy to understand. This has saved me from having to hire an electrician to come out and wire me a new flood light.

I used this product during the holidays for one of my Christmas trees located upstairs in one of the game rooms. The product was used as a mobile remote to turn the tree off and on from my bedroom to avoid going up and down the stairs to turn it off every day.

The product worked very well as a mobile remote. The only issue is the quality of the plastic remote. I dropped it twice from dresser height and it came apart. I was able to simply put it back together but it could be made of a highly quality.

There were no connection issues and was very easy to use.

I got this before the holidays and have been super impressed with it. For the last few years we had led globe lights installed along the roofline of our back porch but rarely used them because they required being manually plugged in.

With our new wireless switch I use them all the time now in the evenings. The indoor wall switch has no problem communicating through the exterior wall and the timer features work great as well. Extremely happy with the installation which only took 5-10 minutes total.

Brand new out of the package I expected it to actually work. Bought it for my tree and Christmas village. Remote works great for turning things on but barely ever works to turn them off. Tried 2 different plugs and can turn them on from across the room but they won’t turn off even when you’re standing right next to it and pointing the remote at the receiver.

I will be returning this item.

THESE REMOTE CONTROLS WORK GREAT===RIGHT NOW I HAVE THE THREE OF THEM CONTROLLING THREE INDOOR CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS WHICH I CAN CONTROL FORM MY RECLINER. I WOULD WITHOUT A DOUBT RECOMMENT THEM.

It works great and very simple to set up. I specially like that the remote is small. It is ideal if you have items with two polarized prongs As I do. Not for use with three prong plugs including a grounding round prong.

This is the product I have been waiting for. It leaves your lights and switch panel just as they were, but adds homekit switching behind the light switch panel. Still operate the light switch just as you normally do with, but you can also setup automations or switch it over wifi/homekit.

Either inputs will override the current state. It only works for one light, so multiple are needed if you have a few switches on the same panel. Much better solution than replacing the whole switch with only a single homekit switch like the eve light switch.

Licensed electrician required to install legally or add a neutral/negative wire if there is only a twin core red/white switching wire behind the wall plate.

Very good product for Homekit ecosystem. Unfortunately is compatible only with homekit, but for me I hope wont be a problem in time.

Works better than expected, does not matter what posision the manual switch is in. Could have been a little bit flatter for easier fit inside the switchbox.

Installed this product to replace a current light switch. So for those who aren’t to familiar with replacing light switches this unit was simple as long as you read the instructions. On the back of the unit there are 4 wires and labeled line and load and ground of course as well as neutral.

So reading and looking at the instructions you will be able to determine which wire for the controller needs to connect to your existing wires once it was connected the unit works awesome. The smart app allows you to control all the features while at home or away.

So the one thing is most people have replaced their light bulbs with led and this until is designed for those lights if you want to have all the features. For those who still have regular light bulbs the color temp feature will not work but I assume the dimming will.

Now I didn’t check this out as all my lights are led but it made sense to me that a regular light bulb would not be able to change color like the led so just an observation to think about. Again the wiz app on my android phone worked without issues not sure about the iPhone app but I would assume it would also work.

I didn’t have any connectivity issues but it was my daughter who did the setup as she wants to be able to dim the lights outside when her friends are over and change the color. Great product that can be used on either Bluetooth when your at home or wifi when your away or at home.

Still need to go away to test it over a greater distance.

I purchased this room controller + a Spex light to test for a specific use case. The result: I’m keeping it and buying more lights. Despite how Spex positions this controller/switch, you actually don’t need it.

You can keep your existing mechanical switch in place and simply never flip it to off. You then control the lights via the app / your voice only. Flipping that switch to off will disconnect the lights from the internet.

This switch would almost need a sticker that says “do not touch”. But I actually want a physical wall switch that functions! But in my particular use case (adding lights to a dropped ceiling in a condo) I don’t want to run wiring down a wall and add a box.

But I can run power to the ceiling with little effort. The beauty of this switch is: you do not need to wire it to the Spex light(s). You can install it in any existing box and simply give it power (but no load).

You then configure the room controller in the app and it will start controlling the lights as expected. I also tested how this configuration would work when the internet goes down. The result: the controller continued to operate the lights seamlessly.

I believe it was using Bluetooth to do so. But you do not need to worry about configuring/managing this behaviour. It’s all happening automatically in the background. I am essentially using this controller like a Lutron pico remote.

Of course it’s not as convenient as the battery powered pico but it’s close in my case. You just need to power the controller.
