20 Best Wide Calf Compression Socks (2023 Updated)

I purchased 2 different brands of socks, and needed to send back the competitor’s brand (also purchased here), because I could not even get them over my foot! I have this style in several colors and styles.

My feet and legs are not tired by the end of the day, and these NURSE MATES compression socks TRULY make a difference in how your legs feel at the end of the day. The colors have held up over time, and the material has not frayed.

The patterns are fun. Like most compression socks, they are not dry-fit. I am petite (5’1″) with very muscular and wide calves, and both the OS and OSX fit just fine. My only additional feedback is that for those with very sensitive skin, the embroidered nature of the patterns, particularly with a “thicker” or wider graphic, results in a slightly bumpy part of the sock.

If the graphic is on a friction point of your clog (or footwear), it might be bothersome to those with sensitive skin. It does also leave a very temporary impression of the graphic molded into your leg (which I personally think is kinda fun.

) but for those who may have a medical issue with circulation, or very sensitive skin, it may not be a welcome feature. If this is a concern for you, try the “seamless” or “tie dye” version of the NURSE MATES sock, and this may help with those particular issues.

Love my compression socks. They’re comfortable, affordable and look great. Only thing better than the product is the customer service. It’s the best I have ever experienced! One of my socks had a defect and had to be returned.

Allheart immediately sent me a UPS envelope with postage pre-paid to return the socks in. Then, they sent a new pair and I returned the defective pair. Easy peasy! I recently experienced fradulent activity with shoes.

I use both the tie dyed and plain socks in wide calf. They fit great, provide excellent support, and are super comfortable. Things to keep in mind when shopping these socks: the tie dyed socks are a different material than the plain knit (may feel thinner than you expect, but it’s just different material and still great), the socks with patterns sometimes leave indentations (so keep in mind if you get spots or character knitted in them), and finally, I sometimes where a little ankle/no show sock with them in my sneakers so to help the soles from wearIng out.

Worth the money.

I was so excited to find your website that offered extra wide compression socks in cool designs. When I tried to put on my socks I could barely get them over my calf, even though the sizing said they would fit.

I felt like my legs were being strangled and had to take them off. I have emailed your company twice to see if perhaps my socks were marked wrong or to return them. I have heard nothing. I am so disappointed.

I’m a RN in a surgical services department and compression socks are a must in order to prevent tired, achy legs after a fast-paced shift. My initial three pairs of Crazy Compression Socks are great quality, super cute, affordable, and provide optimal compression throughout my shift.

I love the design selections! Calves are big enough & the socks go all the way to my knees with comfort. The feet are a bit tight for me & I struggle to get the rolled sock pulled up over my heel & stretched to get them off over my heel.

My legs feel good throughout the day. Best sock so far but not 100% perfect.

These socks are very comfortable. It is almost like not having any on at all. I highly recommend them for anyone who has to wear medium compression, compression socks.

I am on my feet all day and occasionally experience swollen ankles. These light compression socks allow me to stay on my feet all day comfortably without any swelling. They are easy to put on and sheer enough to look like you have nothing on.

I purchased these knee-high socks for my mom but they sent ankle socks. It took over a month to get them, which happens sometimes, so I’m going to see if I can send them back. Last time I sent an order back, it cost a good bit.

I hope that’s not the case with these. They are still very good, just not what she needs.

I bought these because my feet and legs were destroyed after 13 hour shifts as a RN (lots of standing and walking). They are amazing. The compression is just enough to where it’s not like ted hose, but way more compressing that regular socks.

The design does get imprinted into my legs, in case that’s an issue. I will definitely get more of these.

Oh My Gosh! I finally found the best compression socks. They are awesome. If you are a plus size (2X,3X), and you keep spending money on compression socks that are too small or extremely uncomfortable, ugly, and expensive, buy these.

These are by far the MOST comfortable compression socks I own! I wear them all the time. They are super soft and very supportable for my 12-hour shifts.

My wife loves them. They are excellent quality at a excellent value. We just placed another order for 8 more pairs.

I’m a nurse and thought I would enjoy having some compression socks so I ordered these. I’ve been surprised at how difficult they are to put on (I ordered some other pairs and these are way harder to put on, so it’s not just me – lol!).

They are super tight. The tightness is fine on my legs, but the band at the top really hurts at times and I find myself having to pull them down or reposition them often. And if you find they are hard to put on, just wait until you try to take them off! It almost can’t be done without turning them inside out, which I hate to do with socks! I’m not an obese person and have pretty much normal sized legs.

I don’t think someone who is pretty overweight would even be able to get these socks on! I’ve worn them a couple of times, but I’m done with them! Not worth the discomfort and trouble!.

I work 12 hr nights and these are some of my favorite compression socks. I’ve bought a bunch of compression socks from many brands and these are one of the few that don’t feel itchy, they are breathable and unlike some others they don’t squeeze my toes.

I have feet issues (had surgery 1 yr ago) and some socks are really tight even at the toes which gives my toes cramps and pain. These socks are perfectly graduated in their compression, not itchy and have retained their shape after each wash.

Would buy again!.

Scrub life socks do not fit well because of stitching pattern in material. I tried to exchange this pair, but was told I could only replace them with the same sock pattern. The stitching in the pattern making them unwearable for me was not considered a “defective” report, and so no credit could be given.

Do not purchase socks with stitching designs, they will not switch them for a different design.

I’m a Registered Respiratory Therapist who works anywhere from thirteen, to fifteen-hour shifts. I bought these socks, and I will DEFINITELY be buying more! My feet, ankles, and legs have much less swelling after my long night-shifts at work.

They’re durable, and also very pretty. While wearing these socks, my lower extremities are noticeably less tired after working fifty/sixty hours each week. Thank you for a GREAT product!.

I love these socks. These were my first try at wearing compression socks to work. I’m a nurse, I wear supportive shoes, but after awhile, I began having some leg pain, so I started buying compression socks.

I like the fun colors, I like the fit, it’s snug on my calf, doesn’t roll down and it fits my foot perfectly. I wear A SIZE 7/8 in women’s shoes and have a wide, not long foot, so most women’s socks don’t fit me properly, I prefer children’s socks.

These fit perfectly. The have some arch support and reinforcing around the toe and heel, which makes them better than other compression socks I’ve purchased.

Good compression; its gonna press and promote good blood flow. Feel /legs feel amazing; compression and support in certain point of foot; holds up at knee and doesnt slide down ; good for running errands , work etc.

These socks fits well but the top of the socks does not stay flat they roll up behind my knee. I could only wear them 2 hours. I had to take them off because of the pain they caused behind my knee. If the company that makes these socks would fix the top of the socks with a non roll top, they would have a winner.

Until then I would not recommend them.

Senior citizen with cardio concerns. Cardiologist recommended compression socks and I couldn’t stand the thought of the pull on hospital type, so I bought these. They are definitely worth it. I followed the online instrux for putting them on or I would have been frustrated.

The online instrux are a must, and MOJO states they’ll have a video soon, too. Wearing them is like getting a massage on my calves. These would be great for any adult involved in performance sports, not just for someone like me.

The quality of these sock are outstanding! They fit my legs perfectly! I also like that they are marked left and right, making it easy to put on the correct legs. I’ve been using these same brand of socks for 10 years, and wouldn’t change from them! Ordering was easy through the web site! Would highly recommend!.

I have no problem with the product. but I do have a problem with the way I was treated. I placed an order for 5 pairs and you did not have 5 in stock ,so you sent me 1 pair in std length as I ordered and 2 pairs in tall length and b/o 2 pair.

when you look at these you can not tell the difference they look the same until you put them on. They are 3 inches too long and put the pressure in the wrong place and they cut into the crease under my knee In the past I have purchased many pairs of stockings ,now I will measure what you send and what is the wrong length is coming back.

The product fits well when you send what is ordered.

This is a very good product. Unfortunately, it was finally determined that I needed the thigh length so I also have those. Folks should consider the beige ones over the black since if you are wearing shorts the sock is almost not noticeable.

I have both in the thigh high length. Be careful not to order petite unless that’s the size for you. I’m not tall the the petite was too short.

Over the years I have tried different compression stockings, my sister recommended “sockwell”. I am 4 weeks post ankle surgery following a dislocated and severely fractured ankle with a high fibula fracture.

My doctor cleared me to wear 20-30g compression stockings. These have helped my swelling tremendously, I barely have any now!! When they are on, they feel like regular socks!!!.

I needed some new knee highs for work. I’m also taking a trip in which I’ll be on one flight for four hours. I’ve had leg swelling before from flights. I will wear these socks to hopefully stem the tide.

As someone who has owned probably 40 pairs of the moderate graduated compression socks over the years, I highly recommend them. You can tell the difference when you are on your feet all day. And with new cuter prints, it makes them even more like dress socks! I love them!.

Dad loves these socks. Wore them in Florida recently and liked the lightweight material while still using compression socks. Tan color looked good with shorts. Need to make other colors so the socks blend in with skin tone.

I *never* write reviews, but I’ve taken the time to write this one because this product truly does exceed expectations – in EVERY way. I am a very large person, with very large calves and pretty consistent problems with edema in my feet, ankles, and calves.

The wide-leg medium fits PERFECTLY. They are the *first* pair of compression socks that is compression-snug everywhere, fits over my calves, and does not extend beyond my toes. They fit like custom socks! As important to mention: I can actually get them on without 30 minutes of rolling on the floor huffing and puffing.

With the proper technique, it’s absolutely doable and only minimally more effort than typical socks. This is CRITICAL as it means I am actually willing to use them. Other socks take way too much effort, and the effort prevents me from wearing them.

ALSO: the socks are naturally stretched wide to fit over my wide calves. But this does NOTHING to distort or diminish the pattern/look of the socks. In other brands, they appear vibrant and unbroken in the package, but when actually on, there is a white lining that appears between the individual ribs of the sock, so that they appear VERY faded and interrupted.

These have no such issue. When they stretch the space that expands is exactly the same color and pattern, so everything appears as saturated and crisp while wearing as it does in the package. They are the perfect height.

They reach all the way to my knees, but not beyond (if compression socks are too tall they can bunch beneath the knee and be painful on the top of the calf). They are lightweight and breathable! It’s summer here, hot and humid, and I don’t think twice before putting them on.

They are comfortable to wear all day – 8 hours easy. And most importantly, they are extremely effective in preventing and treating my edema. My feet feel SO much better – more flexible/less stiff, less hot, no tingling, and more energy.

I will again and again and again buy these socks, and recommend them to everyone I know. ESPECIALLY THE WIDE CALF VERSION.

As a customer for 3 yrs. now and this being only manufacturer I’ve bought from, I can’t make comparisons to any other compression sock company in the marketplace, however, I love V&V from material, design, low packaging, customer service and price point.

I’m a massage therapist of 26 years and around my mid 40’s starting swelling in my calf’s, especially prominent at the end of the day. After confirming it wasn’t due to my heart and/or kidneys, my doctor said it was time to start wearing compression socks.

I had visions of nude calf stockings my grandmother wore and felt deflated. At a local pharmacy, I saw display stand of V&V and was able to feel the fabrics and acknowledge “these weren’t my grandparents compression socks!” I’m mildly ashamed I held out feeling better because I didn’t want to admit to myself I’m getting older and need circulatory support.

Now I’m grateful for not having sluggish, hot, tired swollen lower extremities. I live in the nylon sleeves in summer and cotton socks in the winter. Both are easy enough to get on, comfortable all day and don’t feel too warm in summer or too cool in winter.

I’d had a bad experience with a cheap pair of compression socks I bought off Amazon awhile back, so when my doctor recommended I start wearing compression socks for my genetic varicose veins, I was pretty resistant.

My doc assured me there are different types of compression socks, and urged me to try again. Thankfully, I remembered a friend of mine who always wears colorful socks that I was pretty sure were compression socks, and I started searching for options.

I knew I wanted colorful and fun socks, so when I found Vim & Vigr I decided to give them a try. Much to my surprise, the socks are comfortable and I actually like wearing them! Okay, they’re not as cool during a heat wave as going sockless… but I LOVE that my ankles don’t swell! WIN!!! And if I have to wear compression socks, I’m glad there are some cute options (more, please!) Especially love the cotton, and the seamless-toe nylon.

I have quite muscly calves for a lady so normal compression socks dig in. These are a great fit while also being a roomy but not too long fit in the foot area (woman’s size 9). My legs feel so much better at the end of the day when I wear them.

Out of 4 brands, this is my grandma’s favorite. They aren’t super tight but still provide enough compression to help keep down the swelling. She also says the material is soft.

Bought 7 pairs of these large clad compression socks. Very comfortable to wear and seen durable. MedShop were very prompt in the delivery. Five star rating 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟.

I ordered these Mediven Thigh High 20-30 stockings as replacements for some very old ones that wore out that were purchased elsewhere. These replacements seem to be high quality like the originals. These replacements differ in that they are the “no silicone” version, which I guess refers to the gripping border at the top of the stocking.

Because these new ones don’t have that gripping border, they slide down more easily and would need a garter if I walked around with them. For my use, I am at home mostly sitting, so I think I prefer these “no silicone” stockings because they let the tightness taper off more gently at the top of the thigh, which I think helps circulate lymph better and may be better for reducing swelling of the leg.

I think a garter really is needed for any stocking, silicone or not, if you are active when wearing them, unless they are waist-high models. I wish they weren’t so expensive, but I’m glad to find them available at a reasonable price at BrightLife.

The delivery was reasonably timely, I wasn’t in a big hurry.

I have been shopping for lighter weight compression socks for years because of a rebuilt knee and torn ligaments. I wear these every day because of permanent swelling in my leg. These are comfortable and stay up where I put them.

I love both lengths of these socks although I have to fold down the longer version which is more like socks. These are petite and fit me perfectly. They are more like stockings. They are made well and unlike stockings they aren’t thin so they don’t have runs or anything like that.

Give them a try. You won’t cry when you put them on because they are too tight like full compressions socks and you will find them comfortable all day long.

These stockings make my legs feel great. I have a little lymphedema. For years I’ve been walking with stiff knees. Knees hurt and get stiff. Apparently the lymph fluid affects that. Now I can jog, move completely.

I had the lymph mld treatment ( massage). Next they measured me. Then said I needed 30/40 compression. But when I picked up my hose from the fitter, she accidentally gave me 15/20 compression. That’s not even required to have a doctors prescription.

Although I know on this site u don’t need a doctors prescription anyway. But I wore them anyway for now. And they still help so much. I actually put a otc pair of compression socks on top of them. They feel cool to me not hot.

However it’s spring weather here. The temp today is 75. Point is, if you’re on the fence, the 15/20 compression doesn’t even require a doctors prescription if it was being sold in the store. So u don’t have to worry about it.

Then later you can go through the process or ask your doc, then get a higher compression. Thx.

These socks were one of two pairs of knee highs I tried from Comrad. They were the more iffy option for me when I laced the order bc of the nylon content, which typically causes feet to sweat. I travelled in them internationally for 11 hours at a stretch and there were absolutely no sweaty feet, no feeling of getting overheated, and no swollen feet either! They worked really well at their task of improving circulation.

On my last such trip, at age 42 and 99lbs, I was surprised to see my ankles and feet puff up by the end of my journey, so that my shoes hardly fit. This time, none of that discomfort, no feeling of restless legs, nada.

Plus, they don’t feel tight when you put them on. They feel well-fitted, rather than suffocating. I’m really happy.

Bought a pair of 6-12. Could not even get them on my size 12 feet. Fit mostly on the foot except for about 2-3 inches of the toe and could not try to pull them up the calf. Thought I could exchange for the x-large in less compression.

Absolutely no option to exchange for any color or style in the x-large. Okay, I understand that. On return option, it deducts discount code I used in calculating my refund off of the amount I paid. So, I paid $8 to try on a pair of socks that will not fit without any options to get a larger size because it is unavailable.

Absolutely absurd rip-off. Do not order online unless you have been able to try on a pair in person. I am usually forgiving of exchanges and missed opportunities in sizes but this is unfathomable keeping even more than what a shipping deduction would cost.

These collected lint and dirt stains like no tomorrow. I had a huge amount of lint within just a few hours of wearing them. and the colour will clearly wear just be covered by dirt quickly. Also I ordered a size medium wide(Womens 6-10 i think) as a womens 7.

However they were far too large and did not compress at all. It might’ve made sense if i was a 6 and in between a small and medium. It was really disappointing, since I looked forward to getting some relief from them for a few weeks while they were shipping.

They did barely fit snugly on my calves at least, but I can’t even exchange them to try a size small, because there is no small wide and therefore they would likely be too tight on my calves. Please consider better quality products and updating your size chart.

My review will be based on my personal experience, which is that my compression socks had holes in them after my very fist use, even having used the provided chart to ensure correct sizing. The color and physical appearance was very nice and exactly how they appeared on the website, so aesthetically very nice.

But from what I can tell, a quality product does not get damaged in a single use, especially not for socks with a $50 price point. I have pairs from brands like Cherokee that costs me $8 and have yet to have any signs of wear.

So sad to leave a poor review, but its my honest thoughts as of now.

Well, i think they would merit five stars except while trying to get them out of the pkg I accidentally cut a one centimeter slit through them. My fault totally! So anyway the hubs hasn’t got to wear these yet.
