20 Best Wide Angle Video Camera (2023 Updated)

I like the optical zoom. It maintains clarity better that other camcorder digital zooms can. The 0. 39x wide angle auxiliary lens does not sound much different from the common 0. 5x lenses, but it becomes an eye opener.

It it is too much for a particular scene, the optical zoom can tone it down for perfect framing. The external microphone has a foam cover to decrease noise from the wind. The USB port allows battery charging.

I use a power bank for long shooting sessions so I do not have to disconnect the camcorder from the tripod to gain access to the battery compartment and install a fresh battery. It makes two copies. A high quality copy (as expected) and a lower quality version for sharing on the internet.

Very pleased with operation. Good image quality. Very small and very light. Using as a webcam and it works GREAT! Both USB out OR HDMI out. Little bit of a learning curve. There is only the video screen which means there is no viewfinder you can put to your eye.

If you use the HDMI port the screen goes blank. Wifi works very well connected to android phone.

Despite the fact that the camera has a gargantuan piece of metal inside it to give the camera the “feel” of a more expensive item I find this product to be quite good for the price About the only complaint I have is the typical “Tell you nothing” Chinese user manual which just like all other Chinese user manuals tells you very little while flooding the pages with what appears to be useful information.

If you want better then pay more money but if you buy this camera then for the price you won’t do better unless you buy a second hand Japanese camcorder. I’m happy with it.

I stepped up to this from 12 year old Sony. Wow what a learning curve ! I’ve only had it for a week but I’m learning bit by bit and day by day. I’ve learned that the 128gb memory card in 4K is not enough.

Yes there are 2 slots but I have it setup to duplicate the one on the other for safety sake so I would start out with at least 256gb cards or more. I seen how big a memory it can take. The camcorder comes with a small 36 page quick start manual but you have to go on line to download and print the full 8 1/2 by 11 146 page owners manual.

It’s not a light weight camcorder because of all the features it has. It comes with almost everything you will need except a Mini USB TO USB CABLE to save your videos and photos to your computer. It is well worth the price and if are not familiar with professional camcorders like myself, there is learning curve.

If you like new technology and can do your homework you will really enjoy this camcorder.

Purchased this camera used (9 rating) from B&H and could not be happier. Since I’m not live-streaming nor using it for other broadcast purposes, I didn’t need the XA45. I was primarily concerned about the smaller sensor, but was pleasantly surprised with low-light noise (not as bad as I had feared.

) Mic config set up and adjustments easy & quick, once you’ve done it a couple of times. Imagery excellent and menu systems user friendly. I’m a former TV news cameraman and really put time into comparing specs, reviews, features and the price tag of several different models & manufacturers.

If you’re considering a video camera for wedding shoots, interviews, events or just for fun, but limited in cash and don’t require the SDI out, AND prefer the XLR outs and the ability to control most all of the aspects of manual exposure, etc – this petite camera is definitely on your short list of contenders! Photos are of my XA40 rigged up for a 4-person panel shoot at a charity golf match.

Run & gun is as simple as disconnecting the HDMI cable and sliding the camera off the field recorder. Everything here purchased from the good folks at B&H!.

Great camera for the price. Has better features than cameras costing much more. However, the accompanying accessories are of poor quality. The frame that allows you to attach the camera to a mount has badly aligned openings that prevent the USB and SD card hatch from opening, thereby making it impossible to attach an external power supply when the camera is mounted.

The camera requires you to download the AKASO GO app in order to do the initial set-up of the camera so if you don’t have a smart phone your options with the camera are limited. The app is similar to the accessories – it’s flaky at best and often loses it’s connection to the camera.

Sadly, the camera itself performs well, especially in 4k and slow motion. It even take 48megapixel photos in RAW and/orjpeg – giving you the means to shoot time-lapse sequences in 8K, but the overall experience is lessened by the poor quality of accessories and a flaky app.

Bought this camera specifically for underwater and wet area usage on a boat. Nothing below 3 feet. First test underwater in my spa the lense cover leaked, even though it has an o-ring. However, camera did not fail.

Second underwater test, after really tightening lense cover, the same area leaked again. However, camera did not fail. Third test underwater and the lense cover failed again. Camera failed to turn on following day.

Returning for new camera. Underwater images were amazing, except when the lense leaked and everything became blurry. Even above water images were amazing. The camera cover, which let you mount the camera to various accessories, is actually a great holder to extend the antenna.

Search for UNDERWATER WIFI and you will see several ways to stick your camera underwater yet view the video from a remote phone using a very thin coax cable. Works like a charm. Hopefully next camera will be water tight.

This is a great value for money product. I love that the action camera comes with multiple attachments and the remote control feature is awesome. Water proof case looks good and the large buttons on the waterproof case seem to be really handy for when I will need to use them (I have not used it underwater yet).

The camera took very nice and clean shots and also the WiFi ability to transfer pictures to my phone worked effortlessly. It is not as good as a Go Pro but can’t compare the two given the price of this camera is less than half of a Go Pro.

Also delivery was super quick, got it the second day after placing the online order. The only con I found is that there is no Micro SD but that is on me as when I later re-checked the prodcut description, it is mentioned that the micro sd card is not a part of the product.

I suggest buying one separately when you are buying the camera itself.

Great video camera. Bought because I shot a lot of video for my business and I didn’t want to use the memory on my phone. Very sharp picture. Color more than decent. Does at times have a hard time keeping focused.

Does have a great battery life. On the whole definitely recommend especially for the price.

This was purchased to replace the same model which was accidentally damaged. This review is of my previous CX240E. This is an excellent camcorder. It fits easily in the pocket and can be instantly available for something unexpected or as a backup HD camcorder.

Unfortunately it does not have an external microphone input but sound quality from the on board microphone is surprisingly good. Automatic focusing and automatic exposure can be a little slow sometimes but you have to make some allowances for the cost of the camcorder.

The powered zoom control is excellent – really smooth. All things considered, this is well worth the money. The lack of an external microphone input is disappointing so I can only give four stars.

I didnt need a new camera. I do have some minor criticisms thatll Ill leave at the end but overall Im pleased. I wanted to replace and older digital Sony HDR that used tape. I didnt need the latest and greatest.

I chose Sony again because the built-in mic does a great job of recording audio. Ive only played around with it a little bit and its nice. Itll take time as it is more complicated than my old camcorder.

The item has been refurbished and has some minor cosmetic scratches from standard use. Overall its in great shape. Description didnt list items included but when I contacted seller they did say it came with power adapter and a battery (OEM it turns out).

It also came with a slightly dog eared manual and a multi-cable. The one thing the manual listed that it didnt come with was the HDMI cable. It wasnt listed in description, so I dont know if it was supposed to be included or not.

Even if it didnt, that cable is cheap and not needed for the camera to function. And the price for what I did get was very reasonable. I look forward to learning more about this camcorder. I did have a problem seating the micro SD card but finally got it in.

Also the integrated lens cover was open and the lens was smudged. I was able to clean it off with glasses cleaner and a microfiber cloth. No scratches. Whew! And when I recorded some video, the picture was good.

We bought this Canon XA15 for live-streaming and specifically bought it over the XA11 because of the SDI output. The Image Quality is decidedly subpar on this camera. Soft, low detail, codecs max out at 35mbps.

Still, low light seems fine, and for our purposes—live-streaming at 720p, it’s fine. Compared to a Panasonic GH5 though, which I use for videography in professional settings, the image quality is about 10x worse than that beast of a camera.

The reason we bought this instead of a high image quality, big sensor camera like the GH5 is because of the live-streaming features. Built in AC power, SDI output and a Mini HDMI output all make this camera great for broadcast.

Except for one thing: The SDI is capped at 1080i and does not shoot at 1080p. For now we are using the HDMI which can output at 1080p to match our other sources, but we will need to get a resolution scaler in order to use the SDI output on this camera.

Overall, it’s fine. Disappointed by the handicapped SDI output though.

First, I like like shooting wildlife ( birds mostly ) and occasionally doing a pro video ( making money ) so my needs may not be your needs. I read reviews from others who love or hate the camera. Figure out what you need first, also what you can afford then go shopping.

I researched many cameras before deciding on this one. Pros, small light weight, incredible zoom, plenty of high bitrate choices, 4K 60fps, reasonable picture quality in reasonable light for what I would consider a reasonable price.

Cons – can’t get it to shoot Mp4 format 100 megabits even with a 300 MB/s SDXC card, shoots MOV at 200 megabits no problem but no Mp4? Of course not good in low light. Did I mention the manuals have much to be desired? Took me forever to figure out how to turn the focus peaking on.

That being said I won’t send camera back because it doesn’t like to shoot Mp4’s at high bitrate of 100 megabits, the highest bitrates are MOV anyways. But I recommend this camera for people who are looking for great picture quality, great zoom , lots of pro settings for when the need arises.

Again, it is not disappointing me.

There are a few notes about a 4k webcam you should know before purchasing. Most of the common video call programs (zoom, teams) do not use the full resolution capabilities of this device. There is a “heavy” bandwidth requirement for 4k video feeds.

If neither of these caveats apply, this product is amazing. Our conference room is ~15′ x 30′ and this camera displays every detail of it very well. The software you can download for it is not necessary to get the full value of it.

The remote control is nice, but we didn’t get a lot of use out of it. If you need 4k recording capabilities, or have a way to video call in 4k, I highly recommend this camera.

I bought this for my entertainment room (large screen TV, surround sound, etc. ) primarily for use with Zoom. It does the job with some caveats. The video and sound seem fine. The pan controls work satisfactorily, but not with smooth movement.

An understandable technical limitation in such a device. The zoom works well. Two complaints: (1) the remote control requires a C-2032 battery, and (2) with each new meeting the camera resets losing the zoom/pan settings.

The battery issue is only mentioned in a small label on the back of the controller. One should have been included in the box. Having to reset the desired zoom/pan is undesirable when joining a meeting in progress.

Even with only volatile memory, they could be retained through setting the USB ports to be powered during Sleep, so a software change (driver) could be very helpful. I consider both issues annoyances that could be resolved by the manufacturer.

Service did not respond to my query.

When using on iMac the 3rd day, the screen/image turned green. unplugged it and waited, and plugged in – initially worked okay for about 2 min. , then turned green again. Changing setting only made things worse.

Stopped using with iMac and plugged into PC. Seems to work fine with PC.

The Panasonic HC V180 is a great portable FHD (who needs 4K) video camera. Lightweight, fits in a pocket, Good IQ from a 1/5. 8 10 MP (2. 2 Effective) sensor, f1. 8 4. 2, 2. 06 103mm (28 to 1740mm equivalent) 50X optical zoom, 90X intelligent image zoom, which is a bit of a gimmick for distance shots but close works astonishingly well and if posting on YouTube no-one’s going to complain.

OK in low light, excellent five axis stabilisation, shoots native mp4 (PAL) at 50fps 25Mbps, so some scope for half speed slo mo but dont do too much colour correction and with the small sensor not a lot of dynamic range.

Full auto or manual control but from a touch screen. Surprisingly good audio from inbuilt mic. Great for beginners. Annoying that it doesnt have a viewfinder, external controls, headphone or mic sockets and takes four seconds to start recording, but there have to be compromises for for an affordable bike/hike/backpack travel camera.

Its much cheaper and better for FHD video than a smart phone. Also important for a travel video camera, its not going to bankrupt you if you lose it.

I bought this camera to help me record some meetings alongside a broadcast quality camera. My expectations were as low as the price, but it performed brilliantly. On a couple of sessions I preferred its recording over the professional camera.

It has good exposure control, good zoom, great quality picture, great antishake, great battery life – I could “set and forget” for a couple of hours and it was fine. It also has the option to record while plugged into the power Recording has the options of HD AVI (MTS) or MP4.

It can also send the video as HDMI to an external recorder. It does not have the facility for an external microphone but the internal one works very well. I have also sent the HDMI output via a converter to SDI more than 80 m to a projector.

While I miss the ability for manual settings the broadcast camera has, the HCV 180’s automatic settings do a great job. It does have a lot of options and they are easy to set in the 2 menus. It has good results as a closeup camera.

I have 8 of these 4 no longer work and 2 are only a few weeks old. I get drop frame alert, and then recording stops. Others it looks fine but I hit the stop record button and the time code stops but everything stays light red like recording and the units freeze up.

Only way to fix is to shut off the camera but you will lose a chuck if not all of the ssd recording. We have also found the the camera looks like it is recording and when we check we see that the timecode has stopped and the recording has to.

We did some test and it all comes down to the cable. They were load tested and ALL failed the needed data transfer speeds by 50 percent or more. They do not sell a replacement cable. Blackmagic will not send you one either.

They also say it will ONLY work with the short cable that comes with it. NOT TRUE. It will NOT work with any other usb c cable, even the anglebird. BUT and here is the important part. It WILL work with the Xcellon Thunderbolt 3 Cable (1.

6′, 40 Gb/s) BH #XCTB354005 MFR #TB3-540-05 with o problem. We have tested over 40 hours, on everything from h264 to 6k blackmagic raw, many start and stops and full drive recordings with no issues. I as an engineer highly recommend this recorder BUT buy 2 and replace the original cable with this thunderbolt cable and you will not have issues.

The Blackmagic Design URSA 12K maybe one of the best value cinematography cameras to capture fast action wildlife. The super 35 high megapixel canvas & fast frame rates are ideal for this genre. The super 16 6K 120fps is a great filming option as it keeps the 12K pixel density.

I wish preroll could be added to the camera control. The image sensor is unforgiving. It will expose any flaw in cheap glass. My go to solution is the Canon 400/2. 8 which i also use on R5. Never had any R5 over heating issue since the heat mod done by Kolarivision NJ.

The post punch in quality is simply amazing. It is like shooting with nine 4K cameras all at once. For medium to far shots the URSA 12K excels. For close up action the autofocus of the R5 is appreciated albeit at 4K.

8K30P is too slow for fast paced wildlife filming. 80MP stills from the URSA 12K look great as do pulling photos from the film production timeline. For this genre the promised Nikon Z9 8K/60 with AF may be a great alternative to consider but it was not available in 2021.

I’ve been shooting news, video production, and documentaries for over thirty five years. I’ve shot with them all. This camera has some features that puts it up there with the best. And, some that leave you wondering why would someone design a broadcast/ENG camera like that.

First, way too many buttons and wheels. In a run and gun world, that’s just something to break and replace. The audio ports are on the top of the camera. Why? The power switch is also on top. I’ve turned the thing out twice by mistake.

The low light is bad. But raising the gain is not too bad. Not a lot of noise in the blacks. I do love the video quality for a 4K broadcast camera under $20,000. This is a great start camera. I’m going to hold onto my Panasonic P2 for a while.

I shoot sports and it’s has a better build quality for covering college games. Last thing. the audio is just horrible. I’m running a Sennheiser shotgun into the right XLR and I have to gain it up in post.

Ending on a good note. the picture is awesome. For a shooter that’s the thing that matters most to me.

Used for snorkeling on vacation and a tubing trip. Waterproof case works great. A little difficult to use underwater at first. Ended up taking video instead of photos. I think this will improve once I’ve used it a little more and am comfortable with the controls.

Battery life is just OK and batteries are a little difficult to change. (Had to bring a small screwdriver on vacation with us for this purpose). Went on our second day of snorkeling, looked like we had enough battery life, 3/4 way full.

Drained super fast just taking mostly photos and it ended up dying, so I missed some of the best shots. Hadn’t brought the back up battery, because I thought we were OK and didn’t want to deal with the screwdriver situation at the beach.

Lesson learned. Overall, happy with this camera. It does what I needed it for. Just don’t leave behind your spare battery on an important outing.

I just got it yesterday. I do like that there are a lot of accessories. I had a fair bit of trouble connecting it to several apps that are recommended, one (Akaso Go) that includes auto play of other users’ videos that you can’t pause or turn off, and points for retail? I don’t need that.

There appears to be more than one user manual online, but I think I found the most complete one on the website, the link for which was in the Quick Start Guide. The more glaring issue is the lack of onboard sound.

I was going to use it for getting footage and talking to an audience (not necessarily live, but wanted that option too) with it, so I wanted to test it by having a video chat with my husband. After a while, I managed to get video to work when I plugged it into the desktop via USB, but there was no sound.

In the manual, it only mentions there is no sound when the waterproof casing is on it. Came to find out that several people have had to take the unit apart to install a 3. 5mm jack. I’m not proficient in that sort of thing, so I have packed up everything and I am sending it back.

It may be good for someone who doesn’t want it for, say, streaming with sound on Twitch or something (unless you have a separate mic attached to your laptop/desktop, which many do, I realize), or filming footage and then doing a voiceover later.

but in my case, I do want to be able to talk to an audience and edit that footage I already knew I would probably need an external microphone for that, but not having some sort of onboard sound, even poor, is a disappointing oversight.

The included batteries seem to lose power pretty quickly. I charged them up, and then used one when it was ready. When I was done (and, as I mentioned, I had connected it to my desktop via USB, so I didn’t use much power anyway), I decided to charge them up before packing it away into the box for return.

I didn’t think it would take long, especially the second one I didn’t even use, but it did, so I gave up.

The camera video and photo is good in daylight. Obviously for the price it’s not going to compare to the go pro but it works and it’s well worth the money. Point to remember. It records sound just fine when out of the case but inside of the waterproof case it’s muffled.

When using it underwater do not take the remote with you unless you waterproof it yourself. Guess how I know?I ended up exchanging it for the reason that the remote was not waterproof hoping that it was poor QA and it was not sealed.

But the new one that came in also had same issue with gasket less remote. If you take it apart and silicone the inside it will work well underwater.

First one I ordered elsewhere had issues operating from battery after the first day so I returned it and ordered from B&H. The 2nd one arrived in totally different packaging which indicates the 1st one was an earlier release.

As I also recently discovered with my newly purchased Hero 9 Black, some recording modes unfortunately utilize the wretched HEVC h. 265 codec, which is a pain to edit. Many older CPUs and GPUs don’t have the hardware decoding ability so it will not work on such systems regardless of the software you install.

For instance one of my i7 machines could import and play it but the older i7 couldn’t even using the same software. The GoPro App will allow you to work with and export the footage, and Resolve 17, Lightworks Pro, HitFilm Pro (new version) and Vegas Pro 19 all can work with the footage to some degree.

Premiere Pro CS6 will not but apparently the latest rental CC version has a plugin for it. Capturing 360 video is an exciting new world and I’m looking forward to all the great things that can be done.

At the very least it replaces having 2 regular GoPros facing opposite directions. The quality is good and it comes with extra lens covers. This thing is so much fun I’ll likely buy another one when the price drops near discontinue time.

Absolute garbage and the employee sold it to us to just sell the product. After readint the safe guidelines it is clear the GoPro MAX is an unusable object. From every angle it says to DO NOT HANDLE DO NOT TOUCH DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT.

DO NOT THROW AWAY OR RECYCLE. DONT CHARGE FOR THE FULL ALLOTMENTS. dont plug into a wall. THE KICKER WAS DO NOT USE ON A HELMET???? Then what is the point of this at all. When it also says not to use in temps below 9°F which makes this impossible to use anywhere but Florida during the winter, and during the summer well you might completely out of luck, Becuase the GOPRO IS PRONE to overheating and starts over heating at 68°F and also is prone to heating damage while being plugged into the computer.

The other big issue is the lack of support from GoPro or any sources. The GoProMAX is not worth its weight as a paperweight (its lense may get scratched and they arent responsible for it. ) Its all just the worst.

The GoPro HERO9 is notably better but still holds the same major flaws of extreme temperature issues and unhandlability.

How to describe the Go Pro 360 Max. AH-HA! The most pitiful design of technology since the white Xbox 360. Here is why? 1. I don’t understand why it was given the name “MAX” when it’s predessors is compatible and has way more accessories than it.

2. I don’t understand why it was given the name “360” when it doesn’t display 360 footage correctly or at all from its camera on different computer types. Such as tablets, androids, etc even with the gopro quick app installed.

3. The battery life span is hilariously awful. I would compare it to a virgin man climaxing for the first time. Quick. 4. May somebody please tell me why the power button or on/off button is also the mode button that changes the camera mode aswell? I sure hope nobody hit the power button and leave it on time lapse mode and press record.

Your screwed and highly livid. 5. Why the cover for the battery, SD card, and USB wants to a loner? Seriously the cover wants to detach everytime you open it. It doesn’t want to stay committed to the camera as it should.

I run a video production company focusing on creative arts and events. We shoot a wide range of music videos, live concerts, live-streaming, and some doc work. After getting started with Canon in the 5Dii generation, I’ve stuck with them through the years, adding 5Diii’s, C100 mkII’s, C200’s, a C70, and our newest addition of 3 XF605’s.

It’s one thing to shoot a doc or narrative with a cinema camera — when you have time to truly compose the shot – including trying different lenses, adding filters, adjusting lights, etc, the C series has an intuitive feel and exceptional image quality.

However these quickly lose their edge when switching to event or live-streaming duties — changing lenses, attempting to pull focus and zoom, and ultimately having to rely more on touchscreen menus makes it tougher to make C series cameras provide good results.

At first I scratched my head as to why I was ‘regressing’ to research at “old school” camcorders – but that didn’t last long. The XF605 came out and was surprisingly affordable, had amazing 10 bit image quality, excellent optics and low light performance, and Canon’s newest (and arguably best) AF system.

AF is a naughty world in the ‘cinema’ world, for obvious reasons, but in the event world, it’s a game changer. For the 5% I feel like I’ve “lost” in image quality from my C70 (shooting 4K, 10 bit), I’ve gained 100% in low-light performance, efficient workflow, silky smooth zooms and a form factor that makes it simple to pull the camera out of the bag and get solid results — time after time.

I just recently shot and live-streamed a three-day music festival with a fleet of static C-series cameras, two PTZ’s, a C70 as a master shot and the three XF605’s as roaming cameras. The results were spectacular.

The artists were extremely pleased with the quality, and the ease of use made the investment worth every penny. if you’re shooting events, this camcorder is a beast. No, it’s not a cinema camera. but it has the image quality and low light performance, and delivers all the features you need for live shows and events.

I use this camcorder to film high school sports, primarily football and basketball. For the past 4 years I’ve been using another brand of pro 4k camcorder with a 1/2. 3 MOS sensor. So far, filming in U.

S. high school gyms this XF605 provides much improved color and much less low-light noise than the prior vidcam. I’m using the general autofocus setting for basketball (not just face or eye detection modes) and it’s doing a wonderful job of keeping the main players and ball action in focus without hunting or choosing background over the foreground action.

In gyms the auto WB hasn’t done a good job, but when I create a custom WB with a grey card in each gym (which is very simple and easy to do with the XF605) the results are superb, even with a gym’s poor and inconsistent color-cast lighting.

I’ve manually set my shutter and let the camera handle gain, iris & exposure and it’s done a great job (my previous camcorder wouldn’t allow partial manual settings – it was all manual or all auto). I’m using V60 SDXC II cards to record 4k 60p 10 bit 170 mbps mp4 files and they keep up with the recording rate and are 3 times faster downloading than the SDXC I V30 cards used in my prior vidcam.

So far I’m 100% satisfied that I updated and upgraded to the XF605, and anticipate that I should get many years of quality, no-fuss results from it.

I head up a wildlife film crew and this is our primary camera, in front of an R and XC15. It replaces an xf400, which was really good in its own right. This is a drastic increase in quality for us. Stand out features are endless.

The zoom rocker mechanism is exquisitely smooth. The function and status controls make operating the camera so easy regardless of how customizable it is. CLog3 to rec709 conversion never fails to exceed my expectations.

Snap on the old trusty 58 mm 500D although unsupported, autofocus works perfectly through the entire zoom range. Snap on a Raynox HP 9000EX and you’ve got 688 mm of jaw dropping zoom. The camera is surprisingly light and has a very long lasting battery.

Freedom to stop the aperture beyond F11. Built-in time code. Unmatched focus accuracy and flexibility. Tons of button customization options. Camera remote allows touchless control at full zoom, so absolutely no camera motion.

Say it with me again, it is ONLY $240 and so there, “Rating: Excellent” for $240. I played with mine (stop it!) for about an hour and figured it out. Thank goodness I have a background in psychology because, this Sony is shy! You’ll read bad reviews stating, “Color is washed out” and crap like that.

Truth is, it comes setup out of the box at half-capability, that’s true! Here, lemme show you. I right clicked on the movie file I imported very easily into Windows Photos and it stated 30fps and I could tell the camcorder wasn’t giving me TRUE HD, and yes, the colors were boring.

I found setting for XAVC S (true HD) and it said, if you choose me, you won’t be able to take photos while taking movies!! I don’t care, at all. BAM! Full HD and it’s nice. I turned the filter on for vivid color (it’s in the photo features and they work in video mode as well, got some weird name but, click and boom, all pretty color.

Movies are better than with my Samsung S21 I had and distinctly better than the horror which is Google Pixel! However, the Pixel takes the best photos of all three. Again, $240. GREAT FOR: Vlogging, Walking and talking YouTube.

Teaching videos. SUCKS FOR: Fast motion video, “stunning” quality, attaching an external mic. This is your near only choice at the money because Panasonic at twice the price sucks. Canon just says, “I ain’t making nothing else under $1000” so.

either buy the Canon or the Sony at a grand or learn to love this nice like champ at $240. If it’s not what you need, don’t try to pretend it will work and then rate it badly.

I will give this product 5 stars, because I am amazed at all the things this little camcorder can do. The 60x zoom on this is crazy. It’s one of the things that sold me on this camera; including the 1080×1920 quality.

Very convenient way of turning the camera on and off (by just opening and closing the screen). When recording videos, they are very stable and far from shaky. The grip on the camera is really nice. Overall easy to get used to most of the features offered.

Some I am still learning how to use in the settings. The zoom is also something I had to get used to. The one thing I noticed that I didn’t like (at first) is that if it’s really bright outside, the camera gives no contrast and color to the objects and in order to really see it, you would have to zoom in more for it to catch it.

But then I didn’t mind it, because this camera has a look to it like from the 90’s, and that made it very cool to use.

This is an awesome little camera for making a video of your hunt. Very easy to operate and the quality of the video is top notch. However, you really need to buy an extra battery. If I go on a 3 hour hunt, and do not turn the camera on at all, the very next day the battery is below half strength.

I bought the remote and two extra batteries. So every morning, I charge two batteries, and swap out before hitting the woods. Just sitting in the camera unused the battery will be dead in 2 days. The remote does not run the battery down.

This is tje only negative I have on this camera at all. So if you are looking at buying, do it right and grab and extra battery so you can keep one charged at all times.

I thought this was going to work with the scope because it said film through the scope but this is a solo package and does not have the adapter so that it will work with your scope. I tried to use it as a solo camera and got it to connect with my cell phone with the app but it doesn’t run very long and it keeps turning itself off and there is very little use for a camera that doesn’t have any high frame rate and won’t see anything if it’s mounted on your gun and your target is 30 or 40 yd away by itself without looking through a scope you can’t even see the target it’s so small.

This might work for a close shot with a bow and arrow but there is no other use for this in any decent action cam without perform this. Any attempt to view the recorded information either photograph or video stored on the SD card from the app on a cell phone only crashes so if you want to look at anything that you’ve done you have to wait till you get back and plug it into a computer to access the photographs and videos stored on the SD card in the camera.

I could either buy a very cheap action camera for about $50 which is a third with this thing cost or I can save up my money and buy a really nice scope that does recording through the scope and has night vision also for about four times the original cost of this unit.

Great cam! Easy to use, clear picture always, the lens allows you to see it on film like looking at while hunting or fishing, and good sound recording. I recommend this cam for the hunter or fisher either just starting out or for people who just want an easy cam to use for their outdoor activities.

Lastly, the mounts, battery, lens cleaning cloth, travel pouch, and charging accessories provided completed a perfect package.

I purchased this camcorder to video various meetings and events for a senior community home owners association. So while I knew of the more expensive 4K model, this 1080p version is very adequate for my needs.

The on-line users manual is very detailed and I recommend that users read it to become acquainted with the camera’s various features and settings. After reading the manual I found the camera very easy to use.

The video quality on playback in 1080/60p is excellent. And, although the camera’s internal microphone is adequate, I found that the use of an external microphone plugged into the camera resulted in much better quality audio on playback.

However, if the camera is plugged into AC while recording, there is a noticeable hum or buzz — so be sure to have a battery with enough recordable time for your event so you don’t have to rely on AC — in my case 1+ hour meetings.

I was a little disappointed that Best Buy did not have, and could not order additional batteries for the camcorder, but that may have been because I made my purchase close to Christmas. Nevertheless, I was very pleased with the assistance the Best Buy sales associate provided me in selecting the product.

I have yet to explore and use the many features that the camcorder offers, but so far all in all, I’m very please with the quality, value, and ease of use of this camcorder. I would definitely recommend it to a friend.

I purchased this camera for a church that has begun live streaming due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I’ve been using my own equipment up to this point, but the church wanted me to buy equipment that would belong to the church and this is the camera I decided on.

OK. It doesn’t do 4K video, for my purposes 1080P is more than adequate. In fact, I live in a very rural community and the fastest internet service available doesn’t have upload speeds fast enough to support 4K.

I’m perfectly happy with this camera. It does great video quality and has everything I need. I was able to connect the HDMI out to a video capture card and plug that into the USB port on a computer and stream that live to YouTube with great results.

I’m plugging a cord from a mixer into the mic input of the camera and set the mic input level manually on the camera and it works great! The price was phenomenally low! What’s not to like? Highly recommended.

It is a bit larger than my own video camera which makes it a bit less ideal for carrying with you on a vacation for instance. I’;m shooting with it mounted on a tripod which is great.

I’ve been been a TV photojournalist for 40+ years I’ve always looked for a nice small “B” Camera and stumbled on this beauty. Features are deep but can be set to auto for those who don’t have the stomach for it! But what fun this thing is.

I know there will be people that say hey I could use my iPhone for the shot and get the same if not better look but. In the news business, you need reach. You need a decent stable zoom lens and this delivers to the max.

Throw in some beautiful stabilization that’s offered, and you’ve got a winner. There have been some that knocked the battery. Well get the bigger capacity and a portable charger and you’re good to go.

As with every camera design, You cannot possibly jam in everything But if I were at the table with the engineers, I would ask for a small EVF that would clip on a hot shoe. Fits nicely in the hand. Super lightweight.
