20 Best White Paint For Closets (2023 Updated)

I normally paint with acrylics and oils. I recently tried this paint and it’s honestly been hard to paint with any other brand. I originally just brought 4 tubes to try it out, and I’ve been going back for more color options ever since.

I’m used to using Liquitex for their satin varnish/gloss, but their paint did not disappoint. The colors are very vivid and clean. It makes me exited to paint, even when I don’t know what I want to make.

If you can catch these on sale, that’s even better! If you don’t believe me, just try it out. Buy one tube and I bet you’ll be back for more!.

Bought this paint to temporarily cover 47 GMC “rat rod” fenders. Spray pattern is circular with slightly larger than a 50 cent piece cover, and a TON of over spray. Made it very difficult for complete coverage.

Also, with both fenders prepped the same, one can was satin and another produced more of a matte finish. Despite the difference in finish, they both turned out decent. Better used for small parts, not larger areas.

I hunted all over the USA for one single can of this color Krylon Coral Isle to finish a project. Only Summit Racing came through. Krylon wouldn’t sell directly to a buyer. Big box stores and all others would NOT order just one.

Summit took the trouble of ordering just one for one person not as part of a big order. Never bought from Summit before. But, I know where my $$$ are going on my next restomod. Thank you very much Summit!! Tom R.

very dissappointed will have to re-do whole job. very uneven coverage (splotchy or too thin) uneven dispersal rate. matte comes out glossy at times, gloss comes out flat sometimes. Color inconsistent (yellow is green) Krylon customer service no help.

went through about 20 cans different colors (i was too far committed to change) every one was same issues. takes forever to dry. sometimes as many as 10 coats to get consistent coverage. the nozzle is horrible dont understand since other krylon products have adjustable fan nozzles.

been a krylon product supporter for years. this experience changes that BIG time, may never go back. Such a shame. ruined my project. OH and it DOES peel they gaurentee not too (try to get support) followed instructions to the T and adherence is GARBAGE barely sticks after days of drying have to touch up almost every piece.

The GOOD: I have used Krylon spray paints for 30 years and always found them to be fast-drying, no runs, drips or errors, as their old ads use to say, so I trusted this for use on plastic auto trim. The BAD: HORRIBLE paint! I would swear it was Rust-Oleum with the associated bad attributes, easily runs, causing drips and laps.

Super light coating, still has drips and runs. Wait more than 30 minutes to add more coats, and the previous coat will wrinkle! Old Krylon never did this, but this all-surface Krylon paint is nothing like that.

The UGLY: That would be the finish you end up with! I have sprayed all kinds of surfaces using Krylon conventional paints for decades, including painting outdoor lighting fixtures in direct sun by day, and heated by the lamp at night, lasting for years with an excellent enduring finish.

Not this all-surface paint! Couldn’t get a good first light coat, and additional coats wrinkled the base coat. Very disappointed, and tossing out the rest of the can! Will never buy this again!.

Maybe mine were lemons, but I got a few of these cans and they were all the same. Took 3 coats because it’s transparent, which defeats the point of it being a primer. regardless of how much you shake or stir it.

And it smells weird, sour. Even after a few weeks. As if the low-voc somehow removed the paint smell and replaced it with sour bread smell. Really weird. The other reviews are so positive, so I’m confused and disappointed.

Where to even begin. I love Kilz paint because nothing compares to the quality. I’ve been a loyal customer for years and have never been disappointed. Complete Coat truly is a “complete coat”. I’ve covered everything with it, from sheetrock to old brown paneling to house exteriors, and have never been disappointed.

I’m about to begin another interior project and you can bet that KIlz Complete Coat will be my go-to!.

I bought this satin paint as ceiling paint for my kitchen as easier to clean than flat paint. I cleaned the ceiling and let it dry. Then applied a first coat with a roller in east/west direction and let dry 4 hours.

Applied second coat in north/south direction. Came out very nice looking. Good, smooth coverage in two coats. Would buy this product again and highly recommend it.

We’ve used Safecoat for about 10 years because I get severe migraine headaches from regular paint. I tolerate this well. Usually we paint in the summer, and it cures rapidly. When using it this fall, wet and colder weather a couple days after painting.

Our daughter is more sensitive to chemicals than I am, and one of the darker shades gave her some problems for more than a month. She keeps the room ventilated as much as possible to avoid problems. I recommend Safecoat, but will use only in summer in the future.

Ordered 2 gals Eggshell sheen which appears to be quite shiny. Paint covered well over flat white. Smelled ‘painty’ upon application but was neutral in 3-4 days although family member with MCS has yet to “smell” paint.

Color appeared to be equal to sample on chart.

Fantastic paint and color. Very low odor wet; zero odor once dried. Dries very quick. We used eggshell for walls and semi-gloss for trim – excellent results with both. We did need primer for existing (coated) wood baseboards and door trim – only because wood had some kind of clear finish on it.

We were pleasantly surprised that only 1 coat of eggshell (color: Knights Armor) was needed to cover a light blue/green bedroom. I must say that the customer service was beyond superior. what a pleasure!! Their suggestions about colors (yes indeed, get the color fan!!!) kept us from making a 10 gallon error.

This paint is decent quality, about what I would expect for the price. The colors are mostly vibrant, but the coverage and opacity aren’t as good as other brands in a slightly higher price range. The consistency is nice and smooth, which is good for blending on the canvas, but it doesn’t show brush strokes much if you’re going for that effect.

The colors are mostly hues, meaning they are not pure pigments, but rather mixtures of two or more. That’s expected for the price, but means mixing colors can be a little unpredictable at times. BTW, the author of the “most helpful positive review” is wrong and unfortunately has misinformed lots of people.

The numbers listed with a pigment are not “levels” of that pigment. The hundreds of different chemicals in use as paint pigments are each assigned a number to keep them all straight. Pigment Blue 15 = PB15 which is phthalo blue, PB29 is ultramarine blue, PY74 is hansa yellow, PY42 is yellow iron oxide, etc.

Different number just refers to a different pigment/chemical. The number itself has nothing to do with concentration, strength, quality, intensity, purity, or anything remotely like “level”.

So, Back in February in Texas, we lost all power, water, etc. Everything froze. Well, we had just started painting the bathroom in the girls side of the house, and we had a little paint left over, so we did the closet too.

Fast forward to after the water came back on. there was moisture and mold that formed in that closet. Turned out to be surface moisture, and came off with bleach and mold remover. Now my youngest daughters room that had regular paint in it, also had moisture mold damage, that required 2 walls being replaced.

Kilz saved me a couple thousand dollars. I have to redo the painting in the entire house, from repiping, and I plan on starting with kilz mold paint, and complete coat.

I bought this as have used farrow and ball before and their paint is so good for cleaning. However, although this is advertised as washable and wipeable, it really isn’t. Before purchasing and paying for a painter, do a bit of research in to F&B paint finishes to see if this is for you.

It isn’t recommended from F&B for any high use areas. It isn’t shiny either, like a previous description says, more a chalky finish that is very porous and not wipeable. I will be re purchasing the same colour elsewhere, in modern emulsion – which is a paint that can be wiped over and does have a slight sheen to it.

So unfortunately it’s a redecorate for us, just a few months after finishing.

Have used this paint quite a few times and contacted F&B when I’d a problem the first time and discovered that if it’s too warm when you use it then it dries too fast and you can thin it down with some water.

The secret is you must use the F&B primer. Any other primer doesn’t get the same effect nice tried other primers and the paint peels. If you use the matching primer it locks together and the paint lasts years with no chips at all.

You can get marks off with a magic eraser and it doesn’t damage the finish. I’ve painted my front door and the surround was painted in a different paint and a yr later the other paint has a chip and the F&B paint is still pristine.

Only negative is it’s a bit more expensive but it’s def worth the money.

I am really impressed with this paint. It goes on easily and dries very quickly. I used it as an experiment to paint over a latte colour (I needed a quick fix) the result was a beautiful light sage green colour.

I am so happy with it. It only needed two light coats. I have now bought loads of F&B paints to do the rest of my house as I was so impressed. Cleans easily, no odours too which is always a bonus. It costs more than many other paints but in my opinion the results are so much nicer.

I have used Valspar (which I like) Dulux which I think is terrible. I would now rather pay a little more for the better qualilty.

I diy a lot of fifferent things, painting on my own is one of them. I have tried valspar from lowe’s and I have came back to this one. I like the semigloss finish on this. When you first start painting it will have a wet look to it and it takes little time to dry.

I did the interior of my home with the Behr paint. I do use a metal paint grip so that I do not put excessive pain on my walls and no clumps. Psa mix before using!.

This paint covers well with both brush and roller, cleans up like a dream, and has an improved container. The plastic can and plastic lid with integrated pour spout is a given, but they’ve made it even better than before with some molded ridges in the screw-off cap that keep the twisting tool from deforming under the strain.

Overall, this is a huge improvement over the previous paint job!.

I so love this Behr paint and primer in one. Always my first choice when starting a home improvement project. Long lasting beautiful colors and low odor. Very affordable for a paint and primer in one.

I highly recommend this product to anyone who is looking to do some home improvement.

Finding latex free paint that isn’t oil based enamel is 1. Not a thing 2. Color on swatch isn’t color you get 3. Kills brain cells with the smell 4. Takes WEEKS to off gas 5. Kills brain cells. Painting a 12×12 room use to take me days because of the need for ventilation and it killed brain cells- you see a theme here? This is reason alone to use ECOS paints! However, I have a class 1 latex allergy- like anaphylaxis reaction from a rubber band snapping in the same room, multiple epi pens, tube down the throat, medication for days BAD! We discovered this while painting our home 12 years ago with interior latex paint.

Shortly after we discovered that latex free interior paint really wasn’t a thing, but enamel based paint was…. we only painted when we did new construction- which was very little. Our walls were left “primer gray†for years because of the lack of safe options.

Fast forward 10 years and enter ECOS paint- game change and literally “LIFE-SAVINGâ€. We recently purchased our dream home. Needing some tlc, we’ve been able to remodel without having to worry about alternative wall covering or gassing out the place.

ECOS us allowed us to make our home OURS in every way!.

This paint was delivered packaged very well and in perfect condition. When wet it looked like it didn’t match the color specified however when it dried it was EXACTLY the same color as the paint swatch I got from Sherwin Williams.

It looks beautiful, there was almost no odor at all and it dried fast. I highly recommend it! I have a lot of chemical sensitivities especially to paint, and I had no reaction at all. It’s more expensive than the paint stores and worth every penny to be safe.

I will order the paint for my whole house from ecospaints. The color matching is impressive.

The paint smells like airplane glue when you are applying it and I got quite sick over the fumes. I was lead to believe that there would not be any fumes and that’s why I invested so much money into two gallons of it.

The false advertising on their site states “non-toxic” and I was lead to believe that in good faith. This is unfair and also not on the up and up. A big disappointment and no better than paint you can buy anywhere.

They make sure to put no refunds when purchasing the product.
