20 Best Waver For Long Hair (2023 Updated)

I’ve had mine since 2012 and it still works like new! This is the ONLY straightener that my hair will get completely straight without having to go over the same spot several times. Less damage on the hair! The setting go up all the way to 400°.

Heats up and cools off quickly. Long professional cord. Lightweight.

Paul Mitchell never disappoints! This is my everyday straightener; reliably gets the job done! I have long, wavy blonde hair and I can’t stand to have my natural messy wave showing. My hair is SUPER thick and stubborn to keep straight so a regular run of the mill drugstore brand straightener (and even some higher end) won’t cut it for me.

This one One swipe with my Paul Mitchell and no more wave, no frizz, and helllllloooo shine! It always amazes me that my hair looks healthier AFTER I use [this] hot tool. It heats quickly and isn’t overly bulky like some straighteners tend to be.

My only complaint is that I don’t like the look of the curls this produces if you choose to curl with it (which is just an extra because this is a straightener not a curling iron). Some people love these curls but it’s just not my personal preference.

Would definitely recommend this- especially because it’s held up to multiple floor drops and banging around that comes with living in my house! Great product!.

Overall I like the effect that the larger barrels have on my hair and so far this product has operated well, but the place where you put your thumb to open the waver gets so hot that after about 10 minutes of use it’s difficult to even touch.

Also, the on/off button is put in a place where I constantly accidentally touch it and turn it off. Another downfall of this product is that the material that is wrapped around the stand melts (learned the hard way)—the weight of the waver makes it so that it shifts easily and it did just that when I wasn’t paying attention and a part of the stand melted.

These aren’t dealbreakers but they’re definitely annoying design flaws.

Likes: No kidding. I did this perm at home by myself. It turned out. Listen. It is all about which perm you use and rolling. That is it. This perm is an acid perm. Contrary to what it sounds like it is gentler on your hair than others.

It is good for color treated hair. People, i used it and it did not dry my hair and i got massive curl. Dislikes. Wish they had papers included, but they don’t. They are easy to find though on line or in a store.

I used a video on line. How to perm at home spiral basic and piggyback tutorial with a girl named Marguerite. It is a four part series. Walked you through the basic perm step by step. Tips on making sure to roll the first two at forehead level TOWARD you and the rest away.

The perm’s gentle nature made this a success. I would recommend.

I buy that brand many years. I have tried many different brands, but none can compare to Ultra Firm Exothermic perms they last longer than other brands. My clients say that I use the very good brand.

I recommend it for pejorative like a curly hair.

Purchased two different sizes for my medium length, fine, thin wavy hair. My curl pattern is 2B & 2C. I have been using a very old Olivia Garden 100% boar bristle brush, and in general like it, but it was not giving me the volume desired.

First few passes of the Ceramic+ Ion, I was blown away at how fast my hair was drying. I hate blow drying my hair. My bathroom gets very hot and I stop frequently to stand in front of my fan. Volume was amazing.

However, as I worked through my hair which is only in 6 small sections for my entire head I started noticing my hair was not getting smooth. The section dries so quickly I don’t get a chance to straighten it.

Mind you, I don’t like my hair stick straight so that was not an expectation. By the time I was done I kept rewetting my hair to obtain some measure of smoothness. I also noticed the ends of my hair are extremely dry.

With the boar brush I usually start at the ends first, then go to the top and back through the ends for curl. I did not get that chance as my hair was already really dried. Unfortunately, will be returning.

I have owned similar, more expensive round, ceramic/tourmaline brushes that I purchased from the salon. The rubber grips on those handles would slip and fall off. I was looking for new hairbrushes, and saw these at Ulta.

They come in a variety of sizes. I ordered one in a large diameter for the top layers, and one in a thinner diameter to curl the bottom layer and back of my hair under. I have a modern take on a classic, angled bob cut, and the two brushes made styling my hair super fast and easy.

My hair was smooth and I barely needed to flat iron to finish. I read other reviews saying the brush didn’t grab hair. My hair is thick and course, and both size brushes held my hair without slipping or grabbing.

These brushes may not work for super fine, thin hair, but for me they are perfect!.

Reviewing this lifesaver of a hair tool is an absolute MUST. The 2 1/8 size is perfect. I went into Ulta to buy a few things and realized that I needed to get a new round brush. I saw that this product had 1K plus reviews and thought I would try it out.

I tried it out on my curtain bangs first and I’ve never seen them “swoop” so nicely. I generally have a ton of frizz after blow drying and had absolutely zero frizz and minimal flyaways after using this the first time.

It cut my hair straightening time in half which is a huuuuge deal because I dread blow drying and straightening after a wash due to having thick and long hair. My hair feels so manageable as if I just left my hairdressers salon.

I used to swear by this stuff when I was relaxing my hair back in 2008/2009. I would apply it every other night and put an oil on top to seal in the moisture. It kept my hair so soft and moisturized! Now that I wear my hair in its natural state (type 4a/4b hair) and I still use this from time-to-time to keep my hair moisturized; it also to helps to define my curls and keeps my hair from getting so dry.

This is a watery product, so you have to be careful because it is a bit runny and can get messy. It is easy to apply and you only need a little per section. It doesn’t leave your hair feeling greasy and it has a nice, clean scent that is very pleasant.

It’s much like a curl activator, just thicker and more moisturizing!.

I love this styling wand-it’s totally worth the price. It creates beautiful curls that last. Make sure to hold the wand upside down (widest end of the wand at the ends of your hair). For tighter curls, leave hair as is after styling.

For gorgeous beachy waves, allow the curls to cool, and then flip your head upside down and gently brush through curls with your fingers or a wide brush/comb. I wish this had different heat settings, but the ceramic doesn’t burn hair.

I was really surprised of the outcome and how easy it was to use! Took my half the time then with a regular wand curling iron! Philips has really created a good product and hope to get years out of this product! The price was good for the quality and outcome of using it.

I love that the Beachwaver Co. Second Chance Dry Shampoo can has a spraying nozzle with a locking function by twisting. You can hear a click upon turning letting you know it is locked/unlocked. This product is fast and easy to use.

The scent is refreshing and smells very good. It is made from a rice formula, is Paraban Free, Formaldehyde Free, Sulfate Free, Mineral Oil Free, Benzophenone Free, is Vegan, Cruelty Free, Phthalate Free and made from recycled bottles.

My hair type however does not really work for this product unfortunately. My sides and back are shaved and there is length in the center which is usually off to the side. After reading and following the directions, I used the Dry Shampoo because I was in a hurry and needed to clean my hair.

Perfect timing to try this new product- however, I was disappointed and dissatisfied with how it turned out after my personal use. My hair felt gross& dirty, but smelled good. I think if my hair had been “normal” , fuller : it would work better.

Beachwaver second chance dry shampoo is a tool to get by another day until you can wash and style again. My roots were very grown out (2+ inches) and therefore got oily a lot faster than where my hair was bleached.

I tried the Beachwaver Second Chance Dry shampoo and was a little shocked at the power of the spray! The powerful spray will lift up your hair if it is short to medium in length or layered. The scent is quite pleasant if you enjoy berry scents.

The directions said that you brush any debris away with a hairbrush after oils are absorbed. I have yet to experience any residue from using the spray. After a bit I brush or style and the appearance of greasy hair is lessened our absent.

Your hair oils are absorbed so there is more body but not significant body as if you were using a powder like Big Sexy Hair or a hairspray or other texturizing product. Best use is simply to avoid looking limp and greasy when your hair gets oily quickly or you want to wait another day until lathering up again in the shower.

owned this for like a year and a half and it’s still my favorite tool i’ve ever bought. i barely use anything else. you can get nice bouncy curls with this or beautiful loose waves. i’ve found that my hair has remained healthy over the last year and a half of using this even though i use it 2-3 times per week.

it’s definitely a lot less damaging to your hair then other stylers i’ve had. very easy to use in my opinion. wish the cord was a little less bulky but that’s barely an issue. it’s definitely on the pricier side but i bought it one day when all of the dry bar tools were on sale.

Wow,i am so happy with this wand ,i don’t know where to start haha. long story short if always wanted those beachy waves NOT RINGLETS and no matter how hard you tried and how many tools you bought it either never worked or falls straight or back to whatever condition it was.

This is truly a magic wand , my hair is thick ,bleached, freeze ball and from opening the box to have loosely curl my whole head i wasted 10 minutes! I just wanted to play with the wand and had the temp set to 260 only.

I had professionally done , yes i burned my thumb at first 15 secs of use ,but i quickly learned how to maneuver the wand. Btw i am the one who never knows how to style the hair or which way to hold the hot tool.

It is super easy just hold it with the tip down and twist your hair on top of the wand (not under) away from your face. I put my hair in a low bun,right after curling and combing waives out with a (silk hair tie) and continued with my life.

After several hours i let my hair down and i still had my waives and a perfect hair style ! I can definitely recommend this wand to anyone who struggles to get your hair done on your own. Also i own ghd platinum plus which i love and hate to curl my hair with.

For some reason i can easily curl my left side and cannot do my right side right lol ,the curls stay,BUT my hair damages visibly immediately and very bad from it. I can see the damage,i can smell it and i can feel it.

With this wand which i used only once ,but i can tell already i didn’t see the damage like with ghd,i didn’t smell it or felt it as of yet and i also can control the temperature with the wand unlike ghd you cannot.

The Hot Tools Signature Series Curling Iron is a decent economical curling iron. I got the 1. 25 inch barrel so I could create loser curls and waves than my 1 inch curler. I like that it has the swivel base and wire that Hot Tools is famous for.

The cord length is long enough to curl comfortably but not so long that there is a lot of excess cord. I like that there is an on off switch and that the temperature dial is very simple. The range of temperatures is really nice to adjust for different hair types and styles.

The iron heats up relatively quickly but I wish there was an indicator to show when it has reached the desired temperature. My lower end budget iron has this indicator, so I was surprised this iron didn’t.

My straight fine hair had to use a higher temperature setting than was recommended for the curls to hold. I prefer a curling iron without a kickstand because it sometimes gets in the way of curling but that is a personal preference.

While this iron looks very similar to other curling irons made by Hot Tools, this is from their more economical line and isn’t labeled as being made of 24K Gold like their higher end lines. The handle is made of a hard plastic and seems pretty sturdy.

I found that if I held my finger higher on the plastic lever, it did feel very warm. I found that the clamp was adequate and I didn’t experience a lot of hair pulling but it was also not the smoothest to release my hair.

Overall, I think this is a decent choice for an economical curling iron and for people who just want to curl their hair occasionally.

I have long, thick, slightly wavy hair that looks crazy air dried. I always have so much trouble finding a curling iron that will actually work with my hair ! easily the worst curling iron i’ve ever tried. I had an iron from an only slightly less reputable brand than this one and I honestly never wanted to buy another but alas it stopped working and I searched for a replacement.

I heard a lot about this brand so I bought this one around a year ago. I immediately tried it without using any different styling products. For reference I have wavy hair about armpit length, medium thickness and have never had issues with my hair holding a curl, I only ever needed a small amount of hair spray (worked with a variety of irons) but the “curls” that are produced from this product last less than a minute.

I have adjusted the heat and tried DOZENS of hairsprays or styling products to hold this curl and nothing works. It barely curls my hair and even the hottest setting doesn’t do anything. I gave up today on this iron I wish I never wasted my time on it.

I get a better curl just scrunching like crazy with a dollar store mousse. It’s completely trash.

I have wavy thick hair with medium porosity. I’m also someone who can’t stand synthetic smells making it challenging for me to find products to use in my hair I actually love. This stuff is great! I’ve used it on my hair both wet and dry and I love it.

Smells like fresh mangoes and gives my hair just a little texture, allowing me to go a few days before needing to wash it and being able to use it for a few days in a row. I love that I can understand all the ingredients and the packaging is minimalistically beautiful.

I am always looking for new hair products that are healthy for me and the environment but this one did not impress me. It smells pretty good but that’s the only thing I really like. It doesn’t do much for my hair at all.

Will keep trying different styles but I am kind of disappointed. Hopping I change my mind with more uses.

I absolutely LOVE this hair curler, it’s incredible for a quick 30 mins curling your whole hair, only thing is because of the 30 min time limit you have to be quick! Despite this, I couldn’t be without it now as before I would really struggle to curl my hair myself with my curling wand, and hardly used to curl my hair unless someone was able to do it for me, so it mainly just sat in my wardrobe gathering dust.

My advice is to use the highest heat (200 degrees) and to put a thin piece of hair inside the curler, then once you have let the hair curl round the inside of the wand usually you will hear a single beep to say it’s ready and in place, then in ten seconds you hear a second beep meaning the curl is ready 🙂 From here you are ready to slowly take the curl out of the wand, it is really easy and painless to do, you just move the wand downwards and the curl just pops out :).

I did a lot of research before buying this hair curler. The demonstration videos were excellent and helped me to see how I could use this on my shoulder length hair.
