20 Best Waterproof Tape For Skin (2023 Updated)

The absolute best adhesive bandage for my foot injury. I cut the sole of my foot on something and the injury wasn’t a candidate for stitches. It was in a really awful/awkward spot so normal bandaids, Tegaderm, and even gauze wrapping just wouldn’t quite stay where they needed to.

Then I tried the Nexcare Absolute Waterproof 3M tape. let me tell you. one swatch of this over a simple gauze square, on the bottom of my foot, in the middle of summer, and I didn’t have a single problem keeping the site protected but still breathable.

AND the thickness of it provided enough cushion to reduce discomfort at the injured site. Will definitley stock up to keep on hand for any future injuries. Also, bonus, it is NOT painful to remove.

I don’t know where to start, ’cause this stuff’s truly amazing! It stretches and stretches for a nice, snug fit. It tears easily. The adhesive is very, very strong and couldn’t care less if it gets wet.

I have eczema on the palm of my left hand. Keeping an ointment on it for very long is quite difficult, if not impossible with normal medical tape. It invariable comes loose, causing the gauze I use to cover the affected area to release.

But, now that I use this almost magical Nexcare tape, that issue is history. It sticks to the skin without releasing through all kinds of motion and stress because it flexes with you! It’ll stick to itself or to skin with a vengeance, yet it releases more easily than you’d think when it’s time to change the bandage.

OK. Now for something extra. I needed to tape together large diameter silicone tubing to smaller diameter tubing to make a drain hose for water, long enough for a project of mine. Electrical tape just wasn’t doing the job.

Then, I thought about Nexcare tape. Holy Toledo! It perfectly attached them together, and it was leak-tight! Though I haven’t tried it yet, I think it might even make an excellent non-slip grip tape for some tool handles of mine.

I’ll be trying that next! Like I said, this stuff’s amazing!!.

I am currently enrolled in college for a career in healthcare and have some text tattooed on the top of my hands. This tape works the best compared to some of the other more expensive methods and products online.

I can find this at any Walmart so I don’t have to order it online. For my healthcare program, I have to constantly wash my hands so this tape is amazing. I have to make sure my hands before applying in order for it to stick correctly.

Also, when I apply the tape, I have to make sure that I’m not putting tension on it or else it will come off. I then have to press and rub pretty firmly to make sure that I get a good stick. I literally have to try to remove it at the end of the day with effort.

I had forgotten about it being on a couple of times and the tape stuck well into the next day with no problems. However, if I have any sweat on my hands, the tape will just come off within a short time.

If I apply it correctly, it will stay on after I sweat just as advertised. The tape stretches well with my movements and stays on strong after I wash my hands. The instructors were so impressed with the results, they started to list it as a solution in the program rule books for anyone with visible tattoos.

Does the job, which was to wrap one of my dogs paws. However, we originally thought we were purchasing a fabric tape. Surprised to find tape is made of paper. We think ad should have indicated that.

I actually use paper tape in my arts and crafts. I have used other brands but the McKesson seems to hold the best. I can’t give you any information on how it does for it’s original purpose.

My only suggestion is don’t ship individual items by themselves in separate boxes. I ordered 6 items and they came in five separate boxes. These were small items. I got a package of moleskin in a large box all by itself!?! This seems a waste.

I bought this to put in my “first aid kit” at home. Its good for use with gauze etc especially for those with latex allergies or who are sensitive to latex to be able to cover an open cut etc instead of a bandaid.

Satisfied with the product but isn’t as waterproof as the label claims.

This tape is pretty much the same as most others out on the market. It’s in our first aid kit at work and we have to use it for injuries pretty often. I’ve never ripped it with my teeth like the other reviewer suggested.

It’s fabric-like tape, but I’m used to ripping those with my fingers much like Gaffer’s Tape. However some people do have trouble with them. It sticks and stays on pretty well and is pretty inexpensive, so I’d probably recommend it.

With all thin bandage tapes on the market, you pretty much expect the same old. This one is a good standard tape, it comes in a compact packaging,, there’s lots of tape, it holds well on the skin unless it gets wet, and it pretty much does it’s job to a very good degree.

I will say that it would stand to have a dispenser serrated edge like a normal paper tape dispenser so that you wouldn’t have to rip it with your teeth.

This adhesive tape works great over gauge for large scrapes or I have used just the tape to protect heels in certain shoes. The fact it is waterproof helps so you don’t have to replace after a shower.

I have a wound on my thigh and am under the care of a Wound Care Doctor. I bandage my wound (5in. X 6in. ) everyday and cover it with a thick 5” x 9” ABD pad. I have tried over 20 different types of tape and learned of Mepitac Silicone tape from a visiting home nurse.

It has been a miracle tape. Here’s why I gave it 5 stars: 1. ) It stays put, it doesn’t curl under or peel off, especially when there’s lots of movement in the area. Every time I pull my pants down the tape stays in place.

2. ) When you take it off it doesn’t hurt or irritate skin, even if you place the tape over hair. 3. ) It moves with your body, when I bend it’s flexible, yet stays in place. 4. ) It holds up a lot, I tape around a thick ABD bandage and it holds it securely in place until next change.

5. ) It’s super gentle on your skin, if you have sensitive skin this is the tape for you. I saved the best for last: 5. ) It’s reusable. Because I have to change my bandage everyday I simply pull off the old tape-set it aside- dress my wound then reapply the same tape.

I get about 5-6 uses out of the tape before I have to discard it and cut new pieces. I could get free tape because I’m under Doctors care, but I would rather buy this well priced, reusable Mepitac Tape because it is simply superior to ANYTHING out there.

Mepitac tape is the best I’ve ever used on my eyes. If you have the problem where your eyes do not seal at night and need to tape them closed, you know how important it is to get a gentle tape. Some brands say gentle — but you know, on the eyes gentle isn’t enough.

I have been using Mepitac tape for years. It is the easiest to remove, it is sanitary in that it has backing on it, and comes in rolls so you can cut the length you need. I recommend it. Shop around to find the best price, though.

The Mepitac silicone tape was provided by my surgeon and since my incision/scar was healing so well I didn’t want to try another brand. This tape is 2x wider than needed so I cut it in half. I’m diabetic so bites, scraps, cuts, incisions heal but the hyperpigmentation can last for several months.

My scar is flat and soft without hyperpigmentation after only 6 weeks.

The best part was having them on controlled the post-op itching that comes with the healing process. Also, my surgeon said the results after 6 weeks have been impressive. I will continue to use these to get the scar down to barely noticeable.

I would recommend using more medical tape in areas of constant movement and contact with clothes. I absolutely love this thing.

It’s a good price and it’s heavy fabric tape, but not near as good an adhesive as first line, more expensive stuff. Some of the Medline brand products are better than others.

Perfect product. People get cut and need to keep things in place. This tape is just as good as the well know name brand but a lot cheaper and just as good

After a violent encounter with a tree limb, I have a scar on my forehead between my eyes. Using this tape not only has lightened and softened the scar but also my deep frown lines on either side. I started with the wider tape but this width is perfect for my use; no trimming necessary.

It sticks well and I use each piece several times before replacing.

This tape is far and away better than the previous CVS brand silicone tape I bought, which was recommended by my physician after some surgery. That tape was rather flimsy and didn’t adhere like the Mepitac does.

Mepitac is substantial and adheres so much better. It also comes in a roll and will last much longer than the CVS product. All in all, it’s a winner in every way. You will be happy you bought it.

I recently had my broken elbow operated and I needed plasters to cover my scar. Those plasters are perfect – sticky but so soft and flexible yet so easy to take off. I did buy that before just for overall use as I have a sensitive skin and do not like the other type of plasters that are very hard to take off.

This one give no pain while getting it off the skin.

Like I said, “Medipore sticks like no other cloth breathable tape”. I am allergic to any latex, plastic or vinyl tapes, and recently had surgery. This tape was the only one that stick to me without a rash, or pealing my skin off, and was water resistant.

Best possible tape for holding dressings in place. Sticks well, is flexible around bins and curves, and removes easily. I am allergic to all the tapes they use in the hospital and I have to take this with me when I get any treatment done on my foot.

I’d be an itch City if it weren’t for this tape. It may seem pricey but it is so worth the money you will be most pleased with it!.

Pro: it is gentle on my skin, it stayed on (abdominal and back dressings) 24 hours plus Con: it is pricey, it doesn’t tear, other tape cannot adhere to it, not much on a one inch wide roll. To explain: I had my husband get this for my post-op dressing changes, mostly because of our great experiences with Nexcare brand.

I was at home and he was describing tapes to me over the phone. He said it was expensive, but I just thought it was higher than most. No, it IS expensive! Now that it has run out (after four dressing changes) I will find another kind of tape.

We had to go over the dressing with a different (micropore) tape to secure it, but that tape didn’t adhere to the Nexcare. This one I do not recommend, especially if you need a lot of tape for larger areas.

I first tried this product as a free sample in exchange for my honest review and I’m honestly honored that I got the chance to do so because this tape is AMAZING! I unfortunately have very delicate skin and have a hard time finding first aid products that won’t give my skin a rash or anything if that sort.

I’ve tried other tapes that said it was for sensitive skin but sadly it wasn’t. This tape on the other hand is true to its word. It was as if it was never there. The removing process was a breeze as well because it didn’t leave any sticky residue behind nor did it feel uncomfortable when it was on.

It really does help protect my small injuries while they heal as well. I loved this tape so much that I went out and couple a couple more to add to my first aid kits throughout my home and car. I recommend this to anyone out there with sensitive skin or anyone in general that wants the extra delicate care for their small wounds.

I bought this product to use as anti snoring tape on mouth after it was recommended. I was using the 3m nexcare cloth tape before. The cloth tape sticks better and lasts all night but not true for this tape.

Most people are not buying the product for this use, so likely not designed fory application.

Great tape for sensitive skin. Adheres well but comes away without damaging skin. Very difficult to purchase at regular chemists. Online purchase easy in comparison and parcel turned up within a few business days.

Great product. Very versatile. I use it primarily on radio controlled models but it works well in many other applications as well.

The product is great. No issue there. But the picture is awful. It doesn’t show the texture or transparency of the tape. When you’re in a hurry it’s easy to pick the wrong thing, and you won’t know it until you pick it up.

good quality product that is most utilized in medical field but I use for lot’s of things! Sticks well to most things without leaving sticky residue. Has a bit of “stretchiness” to it and is pliable.

Purchased from Amazon retailer. Product is OK but doesn’t stick quite as strongly as the old Waterproof tape. I notice that the new tape is made without latex, maybe that’s why.

This tape just is NOT like it used to be. It peels itself off the roll and does not seem to be sticky at all!! I use it for when I get a cut in one of my fingers. I put the tape around my finger over the cut and leave it for 2-3 days.

Once I remove it, the cut is all healed up!! Its great IF it stays stuck!!.

Very disappointed in the new version of this tape. The original type in the metal container was rubber based and was much, much better. So much for progress….
