20 Best Water Seal For Fence (2023 Updated)

I got this stuff in hopes that I could repair my favorite raincoat after the arm had been torn. It worked like a charm. I was worried that since I was going to be patching a sleeve that it might seep through the tear and attach to the other side of the sleeve.

I put some wax paper on the external tear site and I sprayed some patch onto the inside of the sleeve. I gave it the evening to dry. My two concerns were: 1) How tacky it would be if my skin were to come in contact with it 2) would it be able to hold the frayed edges together so that it wouldn’t be noticeable on the outside.

I felt no real difference from the raincoat that wasn’t patch and the area that was patched. First concern was not an issue. I have to really look to see where I patched it on the sleeve. Everything is holding well and it is waterproofed.

The tear was only about 2″ long so it was not huge but it was definitely large enough to give me a soaked arm when it rained. Since I have patched the sleeve I have no leaky arm.

The patch and seal spray comes out extremely thin and runny. It is difficult to get it to spray where you want it because of how thin and runny it is. You have to use several coats to get it thick enough to not run all over.

It sprays out nicely with an even stream ,similar to spray paint. It does dry very well. It doesn’t leave any sign of a cover up, you can’t see where it is after it dries. It does keep a watertight seal , no leaking appears around or underneath the area.

Just not happy with how thin and runny it sprays out.

I really enjoy using this product for outdoor sealing of cracks. Gorilla Glue brand is always trusted so I wasn’t surprised to find that this product worked as advertised. Application is very simple and it can be stored away without using all at once.

Glad there is more on the shelves than the flex seal so I definitely recommend this to others.

I bought this product to fill in some asphalt driveway cracks. It went on smooth and did fill the cracks. However, I really wont know if this product works until next spring to see if the cracks appear again.

Nothing else that I have tried has worked so far but for the cost, I am hoping this does work. It is very expensive but still cheaper than flex seal rubber.

It works as advertise. I recommend it if you have a flat roof. I use a paint brush and it came out pretty good. It states that the seal cures in 72 hours. A second coat can be applied in 2 hours. This can is only 16 ounces so it is small for the price.

This product is just fantastic. I had issues for more than 10 years with my roof. This has been the only product that works. THE BEST!!! I highly recommend it!!!

I used this about a month ago to ‘seal’ the corners of a 304SS reservoir holding water where the seam/weld had separated a bit. I had first tried JB weld (the metal one), and it didn’t quite do the trick.

This stuff painted right over that, and the sealed the corners. One thick coat probably would have been good… but I came back 2 days later and did a second coat… then waited about 4 days to fill the reservoir.

1 month in and no issues. I think it worked. Hope this helps because basically couldn’t find anything on U Toob or internet where somebody did this same thing to coat the inside (only the seams) of a reservoir to make it water tight.

It’s about 10ft x 2 x 1 ft deep.

I have had a leaking roof near the seam between the roof and porch, and no matter what I’ve put on, it continues to leak. We actually need a new roof, but we can’t do that expense right now. I decided to try the Flex Seal on the portion that I thought was leaking.

I easily applied this with a brush and roller, but it is a thicker consistency than paint, so be aware of that difference. It seemed to dry pretty quickly, because when I checked on it a few hours later it was pretty firm.

It is like rubber so it really forms to the surface that you paint it on. I had a little left, so I also coated an old hammer handle and it seems to be adhered to it pretty good. We did get a small shower and it held up, but waiting until we get a heavy rain to see if indeed it holds at least for a year or so until we can afford a roof.

So far, I am impressed, and if it does hold up well, I am thinking about using it to paint my basement to make it moisture proof and then I can turn it into a game room at some point and not worry about mildew or mold smells.

When I went to buy brushes and a roller for this, the salesman at a large home improvement store had said that he used the product for everything and he highly recommended it. I can see lots of uses for this product, since it is flexible and easy to apply.

I’m usually wary of those “as seen on tv’ products, but I think this could be a winner. Pros: applies easily, flexible, not strong smelling, Cons: have to use mineral spirits to clean up, can dry quickly if you let the can open while working with it.

Since it is water based, the paint was absorbed quickly. At the beginning of the painting, the panels look orange, but when the paint dried out, the color turns darker and prettier. I used less than 2 gallons for a 30 feet long fence.

Shake it before use. I only applied the paint once. The fence looks nice even after the heavy rain.

I have used several different stains and sealers on my deck and must say Olympic Waterguard stain and sealer is by far the best! We recently replaced our deck so I used this stain & sealer to finish it, in the past I had resealed my deck approximately every two years and this was by far the best experience I’ve had with this type of product.

It goes on smoothly without any tackiness and looks great with just one thing coat. Our deck is large and leads into our front door, the drying time is 24 hours so I did one half of the deck one day, and the other half the next.

I worried there would be a difference in color between the two but now you can’t even tell I didn’t do it all at once. It was completely dry in the 24 hour drying time too. Its been several weeks since I applied it and my deck still looks wonderful, just like it did the day after I applied it! My kids play rowdy games on it, running, dropping things, etc and there is absolutely no scuffing or marking on the deck.

When it rains the water beads up and runs off quickly. It is truly waterproof and the scuff guard works. I also really like the acorn color, it’s transparent with just a hint of color that keeps my deck looking perfectly clean and brand new.

I am so satisfied! Will definitely be using this brand & product in the future.

What a fantastic product! Our gutters were leaking at the seams so we looked into seamless gutters. The two estimates we received were quite costly. Thankfully, a friend suggested that we try Flex Seal before going to all that expense.

So glad we listened to that advice. Followed the directions exactly, and now we have leak free gutters! What a cost effective way to resolve such a huge problem. The key to it working correctly is to thoroughly clean the area you wish to apply the Flex Seal to.

I was pretty skeptical about this at first. With all the hype and commercials I decided to give it a try. Listen I get it but this stuff is amazing. I use it for everything now! From cracks, nail holes in the wall, bathroom to seal the tub around the edges I mean everything! It holds like nothing else I’ve ever used, easy clean up, mess free, no smell I mean it just works! Don’t take my word for it just try it you won’t be disappointed!.

Works well for patching things up until you can fix things properly. I like that you can pour it into smaller cracks and let it seep in. It worked well for me to seal up a trouble spot on some brick flashing where the veneer had shifted.

Water was pooling and running into the seam of a lap. I treated te seam with Flex seal and let it spread as far under the lap as it would, and a second coat over the top of the flashing lap. So far it worked and doesn’t stick out from the white flashing too much.

I’m pretty confident it will last until I get the underlying issues fixed and I can replace the flashing all together.

I put this on EXACTLY how it said and if I knew a lawyer I would sue this company! I have a 30 feet by 32 feet porch that cost over $6,000 to build and if only you could see it after this. If wal mart attaches tge pictures.

the steps to the right were what it looked like before and now look at it. looks like i threw a bunch of clay mud on it and streaked the crap out of it here and there and poured a whole gallon in other places.

this stuff is crap and ruined my $6,000 deck! Thank god i wasn’t stupid enough to do the 20×20 patio its connected to as well. Now I don’t know what to do but spend god knows how much sanding it and then just painting it.

Yay more money because of a suck 455 product!.

I have LOVED using this product! I do a lot of wood projects and it has come in handy for them! I love the fact that it goes on so easily. It does take a bit of time to dry completely, so if you are wanting to do a project, make sure you give yourself time to let it dry.

I also love that you get up to 350 square feet per gallon to use! This is awesome because big projects take up a lot of this. Another thing I love is that it can protect a deck for up to 4 years or a fence for up to 6 years! It also covers up old stain too when you apply it, which is nice.

But you should make sure to prepare the area you are wanting to stain, so that it is a smooth process. It can look a little off if you don’t. So make sure the surface is clean and dry. Then you just add the stain and let it dry! It is amazing what a world of difference this product makes to a project.

It makes it look so much nicer, and keeps it protected! I honestly love this product. I talk highly about it. I think everyone should give this a shot, especially if you have a nice deck or fence you want to keep protected for a long time! You will not regret it.

I have just used this product on my new stone planter. I was very impressed with how easy it was to put on, like a wash. I used a paint brush and it went in quickly and absorbed very fast. It dried very quickly and I was able to put another coat on shortly afterward.

The brush rinsed out well. It is a big tin and will last for sometime as I had bought it specifically to seal my stone and terracotta planters. It was in stock so I bought it online and collected same day.

The service was very quick and easy as is usual for my local Screwfix. Very happy customer.

Always use WaterSeal when we get stonework done. Had whole house granite front wall scraped out and repointed , and a new lintel over a huge window by the stonemason. The wall was treated two coats to keep the work protected as much as possible.

first coat we applied with a soft brush and later applied the second coat with a backpack sprayer after covering the window with a polythene sheet. Ordered click and collect. Easy and no traipsing around.

Have used this product before, to seal a porous chimney on an 1850’s property. As other reviewers have said, product when applied correctly is excellent. Used and recommended by contractor who was painting the property, this was about five years ago and leak through porous chimney has only recently started leaking again.

Product has to be re-applied every few years to be totally effective. Due to my problem being on a chimney, with a steep pitched roof, accessibility is my biggest problem, and due to age and mobility problems will have to employ a contractor for the task.

As the job itself is small the cost is in the access having to use roof ladders etc. ,and in Pembrokeshire we have the dreaded ‘Pembrokeshire Promise’. Where contractors promise, but then never appear!!!.
