20 Best Water Based Paver Sealer (2023 Updated)

Product has performed exactly as advertised. The 1st application dried so quickly that I was able start the second coat immediately after finishing the 1st. The pavers have a very nice clean semi-gloss appearance.

I used six 1-gal bottles to apply 2 sealant coats to a 600’sq patio. I’d buy this product again, the next time I have to power wash my patio.

Used this epoxy sealant for my driveway. It solidified the polymeric sand and sealed the pavers leaving a satin finish. Hope it lasts…

I applied 2 coat 4″ brush application to 31 year old 16′ x 16′ brick patio paving stones, they have never been sealed before, they now look like new. Great Product. Used a brush instead of a tank sprayer, less waste of product by brushing.

Let me start by saying I’m 64 yr old female that has never sealed my pavers before this. My patio has been in approximately 15yrs and I have use the same sand from Lowe’s every other year after scraping and picking moss, grass and weeds for days in preparation of power washing and re-sanding.

Only to be disappointed over and over. I actually bought 4 bag of sand from Lowe’s this summer. On my way home from Lowe’s I thought ‘there must be a better product out by now’. That’s when a researched and found Dominator!! I returned the sand to Lowe’s and ordered Dominator.

I watched all the how-to videos a few times and ordered a stainless steel sprayer. I can’t tell you what a difference this product is. I just finished sealing the pavers 2 days ago with the Dominator High Gloss sealer and my patio looks the best it ever has (even when it was new)! I made the mistake of putting it on too thick in a small area of corners of some of the stones but only I would notice it.

I wish I had taken before and after pictures! As you’re walking from the backyard towards the patio, it sparkles like diamonds. I’m so happy I was torn when choosing the best gloss of sealer because I don’t really like ‘really shiny’.

I chose the high gloss and it’s perfect. Not too shiny but makes the stones glisten. So if a 64yr old female can do this, anyone can. I would wholeheartedly recommend this product.

1. I have a high end customer who wanted his flagstone shiny. Based on that I got Dominator Sealer Stone+ Gloss. Gloss would indicate a high sheen, but no…. not even close. Get your labels right guys! You can’t put Stone+Gloss in the upper left hand corner, Satin finish in the sub headline, and in the description say semi-gloss/low gloss wet-look sheen.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD just tell me what sheen to expect!!! I talked to customer service and they’re only solution was to apply more. Well, OK, since I have 800ft2 of flagstone that’s not shiny and I can’t take it off, sounds like a plan! Except… 2.

The rains have started (It’s October, so no biggie, i can work around the weather) and the customer just sent me pics of his patio with tons of white patches where apparently the water is getting behind the sealer I applied, and his whole patio looks horrible.

Everytime the flagstone gets wet, there’s patches of white EVERYWHERE. And before you start thinking, maybe it was the prep, let me stop you. I’m a professional coating contractor. 25 years experience in painting, log home refinishing, and deck sealing.

I followed the instructions EXACTLY, watched the videos, checked for moisture content before applying the product, sprayed an even layer of sealer and back rolled. Now I’m stuck with a ****** off customer, no payment for the work, out several hundred for supplies, and no clear way forward to solve the problem.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!!!!!!! I bought the 5 gallon Dominator Sealer wet look/high gloss for my paver driveway. I did my paver driveway and waited 4 days after applying the sealer, until I parked my vehicles on the driveway.

During those 4 days it never rained, and was sunny in the high 80’s low 90’s. There are tire marks all over the driveway!! Even 7 days after applying the sealer, I’m still getting tire marks all over my paver driveway.

I tried getting the tire marks off, but the only way is to pressure clean the driveway so the entire sealer job was a complete waste of my time let alone the $300 I paid for the product. My driveway looks worse now after the sealer went on.

I should have just left it alone. Yes you’ll probably block this review. I don’t want any reimbursement or anything I just want people out there to realize that this product does not work. I am extremely upset with the outcome.

The application and actual sealer part of this product was fine. My ultimate goal was to achieve a wet look. I did not get this. I am currently stripping this product off and gonna reapply a different sealer.

Would I recommend this product…. As a sealer yes. Wet look no.

Easy to apply. My concrete driveway was plain, no covering such as paint etc. However, Aqua 11 does not live up to it’s beading claims. I had my driveway professionally power washed and let dry. Shook bottle as directed to assure Aqua was mixed properly.

Applied Aqua X11 as directed. Let it dry. Surface temp was as recommended. No rain for 4 plus days. The end result is my driveway does not bead at all anywhere. I do not think this product sealed the concrete.

I think I wasted $200. 00 for the 5 gallon container.

Easy to apply. I bought 2 gallons because a gallon is supposed to cover 600sqft. I have roughly 460sqft. The first gallon I applied I don’t think it was shaken enough because the Aqua X never appeared milky when I applied it to my colored concrete squares.

My concrete squares dried immediately. My husband didn’t shake the 2nd gallon at all, even though it is clearly marked on the cap. So again it didn’t appear milky. Since the squares are colored I could still tell where I had spared so it wasn’t a problem.

I was able to cover the area complete three times with both gallons. It has been 2 weeks since I applied the Aqua-X 11 to the concrete and the squares look great. I happened to spill a drink and the liquid beaded up and was easily wiped up.

Also because the squares are colored the Aqua-X 11 makes them look wet, but not a shiny wet. Which my husband and I like. We have some older concrete squares and once we clean them we plan on ordering more Aqua-X 11 to use on them just to help them stay clean.

So far we are very happy.

Used on traverintine pavers. Product dries very quick and is easy to apply. Highly recommend spraying then back rolling over just rolling for best coverage. It’s only been a week and so far impressed.

Will be buying another product for my driveway from Black Diamond in near future.

I have just completed applying Foundation Armor AR350 Wet Look Concrete Sealer and it looks great. My driveway needed a reseal since it was originally done 2 years ago. I had noticed that the look had become dull and rain didn’t run off as it had.

I found Foundation Armor online and decided to try their product. With free shipping here on Walmart it was a easy decision. I bought the 5 gallon and it arrived in a few days. Application seemed easy.

I used a hand pump sprayer to give a quick coat of an area and then I also used a roller on an extension handle to smooth it all and make sure the product was applied to all areas. Of course I had cleaned the driveway with a water hose down a day before making sure the concrete clean and dry and also did a hand sweep before application.

Now my stamped concrete driveway looks new again and rain quickly runs off. I’ll be using Foundation Armor again. A neighbor has already asked about it so it looks like a good product will be sold again.

Extremely pleased with AR350. Used this for my pool patio travertine tiles and fire pit floor with pavers, and I am extremely pleased with the finish. Two years ago I had someone seal the same areas with another, cheaper product, and it turned out OK.

This year, after doing some research I came across the AR350 and after reading the reviews, decided to give it a try. It was a more expensive, but the finish between the two products is significant. AR350 really brought back the tiles’ original finish and gives it that wet look.

The extra cost is well worth the outcome. Unfortunately I didn’t take a “before” photo to be able to show a before and after comparison, but if I did, my photos would look similar to those on Foundation Armor’s website.

This time I did it myself. It’s easy to apply, and I simply followed the directions. I used a paint brush for some of the edges and a roller for the rest. It was just like painting a wall. I was cautious around the actual pool edges and I could see some splatter getting into the pool, but I trust the filter will take care of that.

I highly recommend AR350 for the superior finish. You can get a cheaper sealer, but I can say from experience, the AR350 is a superior product. And shipping is super fast.

I researched the HELL out of this product. I have an old exposed aggregate concrete pool deck – it was tired looking and rough to walk on. I ground the whole thing down with THREE 7″ carbide wheels. Brutal work.

The deck was prepared and I decided on Armor AR350 for it’s solvent-based makeup and MEDIUM gloss sheen. The pool is salt, and IO live in Tucson so whatever I bought it had to be the best. My research led me to AR350.

I bought 5 gallons as I have a 500 sq ft job and it requires two coats of sealer. It was a hot spell in Tucson and I had to wait well past sundown to get the surfaced temp os the deck below 85 degrees.

(I found a cheap IR thermometer for $11 at Harbor freight). I cut it in first, then rolled it with a roller. (Didn’t use a sprayer). Smelled pretty strong – I wore a volatile organic mask and couldn’t smell it.

Easy to apply – just roll it on and work any puddles out with the roller. Easy Peasy. Cleanup with Xylene. Waited 24 hours to the next sunset and on went 2nd coat. A little tougher this time because It was hard to see old versus new product (remember I’m working at night with a headlight – But I was just thorough.

Looks great – Medium sheen – Not slippery (yours may be – remember that I had ROUGH exposed aggregate). Water beads up and stays beaded. Many complements. I recommended highly. I had no contact with the MFG cause I followed the directions.

NOTE: A lot of negative reviews on a lot of products turning milky. That is moisture, I’m sure of it. There is no moisture in Tucson, I assure you. 10-18% humidity. Go ahead and jump, friend – If you’re looking for a long-lasting solvent based medium sheen concrete sealer – this is the stuff!.

We applied as a second coat over newly installed travertine after the first coat of stonetech didn’t provide the right sheen. One bottle did almost 400 sq. ft. with a perfect not quite semi-gloss finish to match the adjoining room.

It goes on easily with a pad applicator and dries quickly. The price was a fraction of the cost of other sealers that forced us into either natural / matte or high gloss choices.

I have yet to use anything that’s really one step whether it be paint or something like this. It looks great with 2 coats, so make sure and get enough. You can tell that one coat will work but 2 makes it shine, somewhat a semi gloss to gloss look.

I used this on unsealed concrete floors that were polished to 400 grit, really brought the dept out. The back of the bottle should be pictured so when you get it and turn it around to read “clean with Trewax floor cleaner first” you won’t wish to have known to get that also.

I used TSP instead to clean my floors. I had windows open with a fan blowing through one to exhaust the fumes while applying. Fumes fade away completely after 2 or 3 days.

We bought a house that was 22 years old and very poorly cared for. Much of the flooring downstairs was travertine marble, dirty and badly worn. First I cleaned it with the Trewax cleaner. Very simple.

Then I applied thin coats of this sealer, allowing ample drying time between each coat. These floor are GORGEOUS. they look like floors in a magazine shot, and the wax wears extremely well, too. It was actually very easy, to do, too.

I just used a mop with a replaceable microfiber cover. Now the floors are low maintenance and look beautiful, too.

Unfortunately I just purchased the sample spray bottle to test on concrete driveway surface. I found it most difficult to get the sprayer to dispense the product in enough quantity to make an impression.

After several pumps, the sprayer would stop working. I believe the suction created by the pump caused the sprayer to stop. I would then have to unscrew the cap to relieve pressure before I could pump more product out.

It was a bit frustrating to get saturation enough to test. I guess I could just take the cap off and spread the product directly using a brush. So at this point I feel like I can trust the product to do the job needed.

I did notice water beading up on the small area I was able to spray.

This product was delivered the next day which surprised me. I had two jugs of the product with free shipping. The price of the product was very fair. It has been raining so I haven’t had the chance to cover my pavers yet.

However I did coat a paver to test the product and my paver maintained it’s original appearance and color so I’m very pleased. I would recommend this product.

I bought a sample bottle and did a test on a single paver. Products like this take 3-6 months to properly evaluate since they are affected by sun and time but after only 3 days I am not impressed. The percent solids dissolved in the liquid seems to be much lower than competitive products that I have used and I would NOT buy that product to seal my pool pavers.

Good product. Does what it says. Easy instructions. Not yet sure how durable it is. I have applied three coats to our stone steps and it certainly “toned” the steps to a “wet look” look. But they are already showing signs of fading back to original look after just 4 weeks and no foot traffic on them.

I will redcoat them when warmer weather allows and keep them under review.

First coat dried dull and powdery. Second coat also dull and powdery! Stones were dry, clean and oil free. There’s no reason why it should of done this! My friend recommended this product, said it was awesome.

This was not my experience.

Used this on the field stone behind our wood burning stove. This made the stones look very detailed. Went on easy, no real smell. Looks great!!!

I bought this product because of all the great reviews it had garnered. It was considered the top choice of almost everything I read. I bought from Walmart because they had the best price from what I could determine.

I had to wait for delivery, but that wasn’t an issue and it arrived a day earlier than originally forecast. I just applied the Armor SX5000 to my driveway and sidewalks yesterday (10/21/2020). I was anxious to apply it before a looming cold spell and take advantage of a great day.

I bought the five gallon container since I have a three car garage and quite a bit of driveway. I was afraid maybe five gallons was not enough, but that’s not the case. The sealant went on easily with a roller.

It was not difficult at all to “see” where you had applied the sealant. Maybe the most difficult part was making sure not to paint myself into a corner! The sealer seemed to be drying quicker than advertised, possibly because the humidity was near zero yesterday.

It almost seemed likes parts of the sealer were dry after the three hours I needed to complete this project. I let it dry overnight anyway and this morning everything looks great. The slight dew seemed to bead.

I am glad so far that I made this purchase and hope that it continues to deliver as advertised.

I bought 5 gallons of Foundation Armor SX5000 WB to do my concrete driveway, I ran out, so I ordered 5 gallons more from Walmart. I had some leftover, so I sprayed it on my concrete foundation to seal out moisture.

I also cleaned and then sealed my paver stone patio with it. The prep of power washing is the hard part. Foundation Armor SX5000 WB went on easy with a pump sprayer and the results are fantastic. If you are going to do the job in the first place, buy an ODOT-approved, quality product that works and will outlast all those cheaper brands.

Product arrived FedEx well protected. It is very aqueous and covers a large area. I rolled it onto a well weathered concrete d’way that had been powerwashed and if sealed, it was a long time ago. It went on easy and soaked in.

5 gals covered about 1500 ft2. Dried to walk on in about 4 hours. Did not darken concrete. Rained a few days later, water beaded up in some spots. It was not slippery.

This product is more expensive for a reason. because it is twice as good as any other sealer. If you are looking for the best for your home ,or in my case my off grid Earthship with colored cement floors, this is for you.

Do not bother to try the others. Go for the best. This is it! Also you support a small family owned business that cares for it’s customers and is available with a simple phone call. Gloss is great. it really does look wet.

It goes on easily Smells pretty darn good for a chemical. Fills and embraces the contrasting surfaces imperfections and brings out the best of your floors imperfections. I plan on keeping a gallon on hand for future touch ups.

Not sure what to expect with this gloss. But I was extremely surprised! Very easy to apply with an amazing wet look finish! Will definitely purchase again. Worth every penny!!

Use in a very ventilated area, as the chemical emissions are very strong. Otherwise, very effective.

I used this Extreme latex-based waterproofer on my interior basement walls to complete the last half of basement. I love the way it coats–thick, so follow recommended coverage. If you have a rough surface, you will need to press hard to work it into the concrete.

I wanted the job perfect, so I applied the 2 coats and then searched for those pin holes to paint over them (you will have them, too, so find them and paint over them!). In year 2000, I did first half of basement with the oil-based waterproofer (no longer avail).

The Extreme is an improved product (mildew-resistant!! and better warranty and latex-based). You can feel the ceramic particles (but wear gloves). Clean up is difficult: hard to wash it off of hands, gloves, brush–consider a roller a one-time use; everything will dry crisp even if you TRY to wash it.

Before applying the Extreme, I used the DRYLOK Etch (don’t skip this product). Then I used the Sikaflex with a caulking gun to fill cracks and holes (small to medium; up to 1 inch or little larger–long story).

Sikaflex is also a great product, elastic and waterproof. It is easy to paint over (wait 72 hours before painting it). You will look at your finished walls and get that satisfied feeling: they look great, will perform well, and will keep your basement dry.

Get the Extreme product and don’t skimp to save a few bucks on a lesser product (not even the regular DRYLOK latex-based). The Extreme is the best.

Great product a lot easier to apply than the original which I have applied in the past and has a smoother texture, the key is in the preparation and the two-coat film thickness but the results speak for themselves.

The concrete contractor who built my 2000 sq. ft. basement failed to install proper drainage and lay heavy mil plastic sheeting under the floor. For 20 years I had to run 2 Dehumidifiers to prevent a musty smell in the basement.

I had tried to seal the floor with epoxy paint with poor results. After the original house burned, I had a sand blasting company remove all previous floor coatings when they blasted the basement walls to remove the smoke & soot.

I did extensive online research and read many reviews before calling Ghost Shield. I spoke with Lou who guided me to tape a 3′ X 3′ square of plastic sheet to the floor. After 24-48 hours the area under the sheet showed visibly damp concrete.

This is a test to verify moisture in the concrete. Because of the age of my concrete Lou recommended I use a primer, densifier& hardener the LIthi-Tek 4500 before sealing with Siloxa-Tek 8500. I followed his product advice and application instructions for both products.

I worked the floor in 10′ X 10′ sections. I was careful not to let the surface dry completely before applying the second coat. Lou instructed me to allow 5 days cure time before sealing with the 8500.

I allowed a full 10 days for the primer Densifier Hardener to cure before applying the sealer. The basement floor is carpeted and I no longer need to run a dehumidifier. 3-1/2 years after sealing the floor, I had a freeze proof faucet leak.

It was not discovered for about three days. A corner of the carpeted floor was saturated. We pulled up the carpet and removed the pad. After using a shop vac to remove the standing water the Ghost Shield treated concrete surface was completely dry in less than 10 minutes.

I am very happy with the performance of this product. And recommend Ghost Shield for any masonry sealing.

I did a lot a research on concrete sealers before buying the Ghostshield Siloxa-Tec 8500. Even though this stuff is quiet expensive, I decided to give it a try. I bought 2 of the 1 gallon concentrates.

Using the online coverage estimator, I thought I might need a little more than the 2 gallons, but I decided to start with that much to see how far it would go. I prepped my concrete by using a leaf blower first, then a pressure washer the day before.

The morning of the application I used the leaf blower again to clean it again. Then I started by using an empty one gallon distilled water jug. I filled it with 3 cup of Siloxa-Tec 8500, then added 12 cups of distilled water.

This gave me about 3/4 of a gallon of solution. I dumped it into a gallon pump sprayer to apply. My concrete sections are about 12′ X 12′. At first I sprayed to solution on one section and waited to 5 to 10 minutes as instructed, but the solution started to dry pretty quick, and the instructions said to apply wet on wet.

Also, I think I applied it a little bit heavy to start out, because I did have some areas that puddled a bit. I used a car wash brush that has an extendable pole to spread the puddled solution and it worked well.

After experimenting a little, I found that it worked best to apply the first coat on the 12’X12′ section then immediately apply the second coat. I also found it worked best to pour the gallon of mixed solution into the sprayer, then mix another gallon and have it ready to go, so you don’t run out of solution part way through the application process.

I have about 3000 square feet of concrete. I did the application over 3 mornings in early June. Each day it took less than 2 hours including prep and cleanup to apply the Siloxa-Tec 8500. Almost immediately after application any water that got on the concrete would bead up and roll off the concrete.

The 2 gallons of concentrate treated all the concrete I was planning on treating and I have enough left over to treat my 30’X30′ basketball court and large front porch. So far I am very pleased with the Ghostshield Siloxa-tec 8500.

Hopefully it last a long time.

We sprayed this product on natural sandstone with Pavermate polymeric sand joints. Initially it seemed to be more water repellent on some pavers, but seems to be equally repellent across all now. We had hit and miss success on the Pavermate, but that’s probably due to application issues since some areas never hardened correctly after the cure time.

Water beads up on areas that did harden. The water beading effect is incredible. The pictures were taken many hours after rain. The water stays around until it evaporates. Taking one star off because the product gave our darkest (blackish) pavers a bluish-white haze.

It didn’t affect the color or finish of the lighter color pavers. Overall, this product maintains the natural finish and is not shiny. I wouldn’t use this on dark pavers without testing first.

We acid stained and then sealed approximately 3000 sf of exterior brushed concrete driveway. The concrete was about 40 days old. We learned some hard lessons during this project. In regards to the sealer, lesson 1, use a cheap garden pump sprayer, like the one DirectColors sells, or similar available elsewhere.

You will need at least two, probably 3 sprayers. Cleaning the $14-17 sprayer would require harsh chemicals and is frankly not worth it. Rolling the sealer gave terrible results, even after going in both directions as shown in videos.

Even the smallest of overlap marks was obnoxiously obvious, and applying by roller takes a very long time, even with a 24†roller. Spraying in quick circular motions resulted in a much more appealing finish, in about 25% of the time and effort of rolling.

Spraying also gets the sealer into the expansion joints, whereas rolling does not. Next big lesson, buy twice the amount of sealer as the calculator indicates. The acid stain calculator was pretty close, but we ended up reordering two more times, and by final count I recommend buying double the amount of sealer vs stain.

Our fairly fresh concrete soaked up the sealer and it wasn’t until the third coat that it looked really good. I’ll attach some pictures of two coats vs 3. And final lesson, don’t leave your freshly acid stain unprotected…it scratches very easily from pets and simple foot traffic.

Seal it as soon as possible after acid is neutralized and concrete is dry. Wear old soft tennis shoes with smooth soles. If you can’t get the sealer on right away, do not allow anyone to walk or drive on the concrete prior to at least one coat of sealer.

Because our project was so large and we ran out of sealer, I had to repair scratches by restaining portions of our concrete 3 times…was a nightmare. The dogs did the most damage, running over it.

The Satin has just enough shine to enhance all the rich colors

This acrylic sealer was the icing on the cake for my project, a stamped concrete walkway. I used two layers of Light Charcoal Satin EasyTint the first day, followed by two layers of Solvent Based Acrylic Satin Concrete Sealer the second day.

The acrylic sealer added depth and richness to the tinted sealer. It was easy to apply with a roller and paintbrush. It dried quickly between coats so that I could walk on it with regular tennis shoes, no issues.

Wonderful product. I highly recommend!.

Picks up tire marks very bad. Ruined a nice double coated driveway with full dirty tire tracks. I had used this same product several times over the years with no problems and great results, but they must have changed something, even though I waited 3 days to drive on it, it picked up every track.

Terrible. Hate it!.

Bought this one gallon to complete the second coat of my driveway. Originally I bought 5 gallons from Amazon, and it would have been enough had I used a roller instead of a sprayer. Beside using more product, the sprayer didn’t give a uniform coat.

I suggest use a roller and give it a week before the second coat. I’m tempted to order another 5 gallons to give it a third and final coat as every coat seems to darken it a shade ( had my concrete tinted to begin with).

I applied the sealer a day ago and the results have already started to shine through. I wanted something that would stand up to the cold winters in the Northeast while protecting the investment I made in landscape edging.

With the clear instructions, it appears I have found the product to do just that. I had researched many products before I arrived at the Armor 500. The high gloss makes the concrete really “pop”.

Looked great when first applied. Now after winter the wet look is gone and there is a white chalk that covers all the stamped concrete and won’t come off. Looks like we ruin our concrete. Very disappointed!.

My Driveway Block paving is nearly 20 years old now. I pressure hose and give 2 coats of Ronseal Wet Look every year The photo was taken this morning. I did it 3 weeks ago. It comes up like new every year and still looks good even before I do it each year.

I cannot recommend this product highly enough. People always comment on my lovely block paving driveway and can’t believe it is nearly 20 years old. Melodie New.

This product does exactly what the description suggests. Easy to apply, gives a lovely sheen to an otherwise dull patio. Quick drying. I decanted into a shallow container and used a brush, however, alternatively a roller could be used.

The product does have a strong odour when applying, however, this rapidly disperses.

More expensive than some other brands but worth paying the extra. Paving looks brand new although it been down 25years. sealant also keeps weeds and moss away. Great Product
