I’m going to return it. The reviews were good so I bought it but it has absolutely no hold on my thick coarse curly hair. If I use things like kinky curly I get a slight cast that I could scrunch out.
This left no cast at all so my hair frizzed up when I diffused it. It actually made my hair really dry as well which I noticed someone else commented on with the same brand but a different color bottle.
I tried the one in the green bottle as well and didn’t like that either so I guess this is not for me. However the same company makes blueberry Bliss pomade which is great for your edges.

I have low porosity 3a, fine to medium texture hair and I live in the humid Southeast US. I’ve been using the As I Am cowash for a long time, but it caused so much buildup that I had to shampoo more often than I wanted to.
I’ve been using this Mixed Chicks cowash and it makes my hair so shiny and bouncy. I don’t think it has any real chemical cleansers in it, but I don’t use heavy styling products so it’s great for me.
My cowash days are so quick and easy with this, I love love love it.
this is the first co wash that I have ever used and I really like it. I use it every two weeks, alternating between the mixed chicks shampoo with sulfate. it is a very mild cleanser that will not get all your products and build up out, but will still make your hair feel clean and refreshed without drying it.
the scent is nice, very light and clean. I do not think that it is drying like some reviews say. it leaves my hair soft and easy to detangle.
My daughter is mixed and she is 8 yrs old, I have been trying different products for years and still combing out her hair was impossible. A family member recommended Mixed Chick’s brand so I bought it and after the very first use it was so impressed! We could run our fingers through her hair, we have never been able to do that without using tons of conditioner and even then there were tangles and mats even though I really took care of her hair.
She has not cried or said ouch not one time since we have been using this cowash. This product quite literally changed my daughters life for the better I highly recommend this product!.
Rich and creamy sulfate free cleanser guaranteed to soften the driest kink, hydrate the driest curl and encourage healthy scalp and hair growth. Formulated with certified organic Blueberry Extract, Aloe Leaf Juice, and Chamomile Extract clinically proven to repair, protect, restore and grow your curls.
I have straight hair, more on fine/medium side. I will not bash on the brand bc to be fair this is targeted for curly hair types. However, I purchased this bc my hair is damaged from all the hair dying.
I went through so many shampoos, only to be unsatisfied with the results. If I could I would give it 3-4/5 stars for these reasons, the scent is not my favorite. Yes you can smell the blueberries, but there is this sourness to it, it is not appealing.
Consistency wise, this does not sud or lather like your basic shampoos, it isn’t a bad thing but I FELT that it didn’t cleanse my hair even when I followed the instructions. If you like the whole lathering effect, this isn’t it.
I read that a little goes a long way, but I actually had to use more to cleanse my hair. This hair wash didn’t work for me. I do love the hair mask though. I still recommend people to try this out if you are interested bc this product might work better for you.
I will say that even if I felt like it didn’t clean my hair, it actually did. I just wish it was more hydrating is all.
Honestly, I have nothing bad to say about how it works. I used to co-wash, but then noticed I was getting build-up so I wanted to switch to something that was more cleansing, but not stripping/drying.
This works amazing for that. I do use a conditioner after because my hair needs it, but this shampoo is a super good balance between cleansing and moisturizing. My hair feels noticeably cleaner after, but doesn’t feel dry.
I took off a point because I just can’t stand the smell. I hate food scents, but I bought this because I was hoping it would smell a little more fresh than like food. To me, it specifically smells like UV-Blue.
Every time I shower, I feel like I’m 18 again at a house party lol. I’m now 27, so those flashbacks aren’t super ideal as I’m trying to relax. I think the price is fine for the size, but I really wish they had a bigger size option as well.
So, overall if they got a bigger size and added a different smell, I’d definitely try it again.
I used this on my main wash days, I usually follow the instructions and it really helps nurish the scalp. I feel a significant difference when I take off the shampoo before I put on the deep conditioner.
My hair already feels conditioned when I take it off and I love the smell. The scent is a bit like artificial flavor/scent, but I enjoy it so much, it reminds me of being a kid. One thing I’ve noticed is my hair does go back to being a bit more brittle when I stopped using it in between shopping trips.
Also, please follow the timing instructions, it does make a huge difference!! I attempted to do a quick wash with it and my hair was just washed but not nourished. The mask really helped during that episode, so def follow the timing instructions.
Its really nice on the scalp and I havent had any itching or like extreme dryness. I live in the desert with a lot of dry weather. So overall, a great shampoo!! I feel pampered when I use these products!.
Created for naturally curly hair regardless of texture or tone, All About Curls delivers nourished, defined and de-frizzed curls, without the silicones, parabens, and SLS/SLES sulfates* found in most traditional haircare products.
I received the product for free from Influenster and Zotos Professional. I have been using the Quenched Cream Conditioner by All About Curls for the past few weeks. I have 2B curls, but over the past year my curls have been slowly falling out.
While my curls haven’t started to come back, which would have been a miracle in my mind, I have tried to use the products I was provided with an open mind. My hair is extremely dry and the Quenched Cream Conditioner states that it is made for extremely thirsty hair.
Unfortunately, I didn’t find that to be the case at all. I used only this conditioner over the past few weeks and right now my hair is as dry as can be and tangles so easily I’m afraid it’s going to hurt my hair more than the last year already has.
This conditioner does have a nice slip, prior to being rinsed out and a pleasant scent. It’s just too drying for my hair.
I received this product through Influenster in exchange for my honest review. I am so happy I had the opportunity to try this product because the whole All About Curls line changed my curly hair for the better.
I have pretty thick curly hair but my curls haven’t had the definition they used to. This shampoo combined with the other products in the system gave me the curls I have been wanting! The smell of the shampoo at first was very strong, not bad smelling just strong.
It took me a min to get used to it but after I used it , I was ok with the smell. I like that its sulfate and paraben free. I can tell that this shampoo was different than a regular shampoo because it didnt foam up as much.
At first it felt weird but the after results speak for themselves. I will be using from here on out as part of my regular curly hair routine. Sold!.

Reviews From Real Customers
This stuff is MAGIC. I was so skeptical to buy anything online but I could not be happier and I swear this is a real review! I never had dandruff or buildup before I started wearing extensions and since I started wearing them I consistently would have buildup and flakes and it was AWFUL and just getting worse and worse even though I wash once or twice a week (definitely don’t want to do more with extensions).
I always wanted to make sure I was putting things in my hair that wouldn’t damage them and I find this. Now girls I used this ONE time and after showering and using this, the horrific buildup and white flakes and grossness is GONE.
I repeat, GONE. It definitely smells like apple cider vinegar and it’s not the greatest scent and I went to town scrubbing my head with it, then used my normal shampoo and conditioner after and there was no leftover smell at the end of my shower.
I made sure to rinse VERY thoroughly after it and after my shampoo and conditioner. It made my head feel clean and clear and even scratching my head, there is no residue or flaking or anything. Please please do yourself a favor and get this if you’re having scalp trouble with extensions.
I wish I had known about this so long ago, it is a game changer. I am a total believer and will DEFINITELY be purchasing again. I think it is a must-have to keep your scalp healthy and clean with extensions in your hair.
Rarely leave bad reviews but do not like this at all. I bought it to make my hair feel cleaner/clarified and because of hard water. My hair honestly feels worse than ever after one wash with this (and use of their leave in conditioner).
It is oily and dirty feeling. Also don’t like the application. it barely comes out of the tip. Returning promptly after one use but this did not work for me.
This breakthrough non lathering, sulfate-free formula, combines cleansing ingredients with a conditioning base, gives you smooth, conditioned curls that are clean and healthy. It cleans and conditions in one step.
It gently cleans hair of dirt, oil and build-up. It starts defining curls in the shower. It keeps hair smooth and conditioned, in and out of the shower, with time-released conditioning. It is powered by extended curl memory technology so curls spring back to their perfect shape and stay beautiful, defined and frizz-free 2x longer.
Non lathering, sulfate-free, silicone-free and color safe. For use on all curls, whether they’re wavy, curly or coily.
For a shampoo at this price, safe to say I was disappointed. I was going back through the product description and reviews to see what this thing is actually meant to do, and it still feels unclear. The description says “shinier, healthy-looking hair,” which suggested it was hydrating, but a lot of reviews said it was drying/stripping.
I bought this on the basis of those reviews because I have pretty oily hair which needs washing too frequently. The scent was nice – I noticed some people said it was overpowering, but I don’t notice it anymore than a leave-in conditioner or oil that you get at a hair salon.
The consistency was pretty normal for a shampoo – not too liquid, not too thick. It didn’t lather up too much, but it could still lather. And at the very least, it felt like it was easy enough to rinse out.
But every time I used this and blow-dried after, my hair ended up just as greasy as it had been prior to washing. I’ve had this happen with other shampoos (if they’re meant to be very hydrating shampoos or heavily oil-based), but it’s surprisingly rare to find one that has this effect on my hair.
Usually even general “hydrating shampoos” won’t actively make my hair greasier. This one did just that, and it’s been incredibly frustrating to spend all this time washing and blow-drying only to get greasy hair immediately afterward.
Tried it multiple times only to get the same result. Tried mixing up shampoos, and the effects really only got worse after using this one. So if anyone else is looking at the reviews thinking it might be good for oily hair (because it baffles me that everyone else here said it was too drying/stripping), do not walk, RUN away from this shampoo.
One of the rare purchases that I genuinely regret making and will probably try to get a refund for.

Living Proof gifted me this product to test; honest opinions are my own. I love Living Proof products and have been a long time fan though new to this particular shampoo. The new & improved Perfect Hair Day Shampoo is a hydrating shampoo for anyone dealing with dry hair.
I’ve got thick, long, slightly wavy, unprocessed Asian hair and definitely dealing with dry hair at the moment thanks to using the hair dryer and flat iron all winter long. My hair felt softer and looked healthier and shinier after just one wash.
The shampoo works up into a wonderful lather that gently cleanses without stripping my hair or scalp. I love using PhD shampoo after a day out at the pool, it helps get out the chlorine and any traces of sunscreen residue.

For years I have struggled with finding the right shampoo and conditioner for my curly hair. Products like Suave, TREsemmé, Pantene, and Aussie. As popular as these products are, they did not do my hair justice.
For instance, after I would wash my hair with these product lines, I would notice that my curls were left dehydrated and frizzy. Knowing that this was a huge issue I decided to take a different approach and do some research on what shampoos and conditioners were great for those with curly textured hair.
Once I came across the Coconut and Hibiscus Curl and Shine Shampoo and Conditioner from the Shea Moisture line, I knew I just had to give it a try because it said it contained natural and certified organic ingredients, controls frizz while adding brilliant shine, and formed to hydrate and protect your hair while reducing breakage.
I bought these two products at Walmart for approximately $20. The shampoo and conditioner are $9. 97 each. I know what some of you may be thinking. That is expensive for both a shampoo and conditioner but let me tell you it is worth it! Products like Suave, TREsemmé, Pantene, Aussie, and other popular shampoo and conditioners are cheaper because they are the most damaging.
They have sulfates and parabens which dries out your hair faster which leads to frizz and breakage. You can see why these products should be avoided for those with textured hair because are hair dries out faster than straight hair.
Therefore, it is best to stay away from them altogether. Go to your local drugstore and or any other places that sell hair products like Sallys and Ulta Beauty and give the Coconut and Hibiscus Curl and Shine Shampoo and Conditioner from Shea Moisture a try because you will not regret it.
I received this #freeproduct from #trywithtopbox. I tried it for a few washes and here is my opinion. Having a sensitive odorant, the product as such already has a strong smell, but even washed the smell remains quite strong.
In addition, the shampoo is very liquid and does not foam much, even after two washes. All in all, it’s a good product. Nevertheless, it gives me a very nice loop. Use with conditioner and with curl smoothie.

I’m hair loves conditioner and I protein and I am always trying new products. I tried the Nexxus Curl Define Strengthen and Moisturize Leave In Conditioner for Curls. It has proteinfusion with silk protein and Marula oil to lock in moisture while controlling gross, leaving curls soft and defined.
My curls are always thirsty for more moisture and conditioning. The smell is similar to baby lotion products and I like it. You apply while wet, section, distribute evenly, and could be used as a curl refresher, I would recommend for curly girls.
My personal opinion I would not use everyday, too much protein can be bad just like too much of a good thing can be bad. Iam using every other wash for me.
I have medium thickness hair with S waves, not curly at all. I originally bought this for my daughter who has thick, curly type 3A hair, and I ended up trying it because I ran out of my usual leave-in cream and I needed some thing to put in my hair.
I was absolutely stunned by the results! The ingredients in this looks pretty typical of most leave-in creams, but I think the way it was formulated makes all the difference. I apply this stuff from my ends and work my way up to about 3/4 up my hair.
Never have I ever felt softer hair in my life! Since it has demithicone, you can rest assured that will provide optimum heat protection from blow drying your hair and it will keep frizz at bay. It washes off easily in the next wash and hasn’t caused build-up at all.
I believe it even extends the time in which my hair stays straight after using a hair straightener. So you no longer need to use a heat protectant after a leave in cream and you no longer need detangler because this stuff works amazingly.
I have bleach damaged hair and this stuff made it feel less gummy. Since it works well for me and my daughter’s type of hair, I don’t think this is suitable for girls with type 3B-4C hair because it won’t give the intense hydration that you’re looking for, unless you’re using this in a LOC method and using it as the first step.
I hesitantly got this conditioner because I wanted to try a leave-in conditioner that is especially made for curly hair. I do not have tight curls, yet my hair is curly and without the use of the right products, it is a wild mess! This is not my usual brand, yet I was hopeful that it would condition my hair and that it would live up to its claims.
As a curly hair girl knows, trying a new curly hair product comes with skepticism and frustration. Let me start by first saying that the jar that it comes in is not sealed. Therefore, when I first opened the lid, the product spilled out and went all over my hands.
Not a first good impression! The product is light and creamy. I applied to my wet hair after washing. I applied about a half-dollar size of this product and spread the conditioner throughout my hair with my fingers.
My fingers went through easily and I did not encounter any tangling. After air drying my hair, the result was soft curls that bounced without feeling tacky. My curls were defined and shiny. I liked the look and feel with just the conditioner and no other product.
Yet I plan on using it with my other products since I still encountered frizz as the day proceeded. I am very happy that this is a product I can use occasionally to nourish my curls without leaving them feeling harsh.
Lastly, the smell is phenomenal! I found myself smelling my hair throughout the day. The scent is soft and fresh and not overwhelming.

Avoid contact with eyes. If contact occurs rinse thoroughly with warm water. Keep out of reach of children. For external use only.
My girlfriend thought it was funny that I used such a cheap shampoo! I took this to heart and tried using something more premium so I went for head and shoulders. However! I was shocked. my wash and go (which I was bullied for) proved to be the best shampoo ever! I would highly recommend to anyone out there.
Infused with shea butter, olive oil and sage oil, TPH by TARAJI Hustle & Co Co-Wash is a rich, ultra-creamy, suds-free hair conditioning cleanser that deeply refreshes while moisturizing your coils, curls, and waves.
No side hustle (in this case, any additional conditioner) necessary. Hustle & co delivers hydrating goodness into your hair without stripping your hair of its natural oils. Hustle & co does not include parabens, SLS/SLES, phthalates, or mineral oil.
It has been 6 months that I started using this cowash. I had tried other top selling cowashes and always came back to this one. Yes the smell can be strong at first but if you have scalp smell this helps.
My hair is 3B curly and extremely damaged when I first started using this. I have damage from coloring my hair and hormonal change after having 2 kids. I am in my late 30s and have had a journey with this change.
You have to section your hair to place it onto your scalp. It has a lotion like texture. Once you have rubbed it into your scalp you can brush it down to ends with your fingers. It it VERY conditioning as well.
So if you think about it, the cost of it is well worth it if you dont need to buy separate conditioner. I use this everyday since I go to the gym and sweat too much that I can not use a blow dryer/dry shampoo on a soaked sweaty scalp- that would be gross.
I highly recommend this and haven’t found anything that can beat it for my hair type.
Coming out of the shower, my hair felt drier/more tangled. But after it dried it felt soft. I do also appreciate that there’s some good ingredients in here. That said, i just cannot look past the SMELL.
Now I generally have a terrible sense of smell, so fragrances don’t usually bother me bc I don’t notice them much. When i opened the bottle in the shower, I didn’t like the smell very much but I figured it would just wash out anyway.
But dear lord I’m sitting through work the next morning and every time my hair moves I get hit with the nauseating smell. It’s not a “bad” smell, I’m sure some people would like it. But it’s definitely overpowering, so if you don’t like the fragrance or if you just don’t like having a strong scent to your hair, then this is a goner.
I give stars for the ingredients, the moisture, and the fact that *some* people might enjoy the scent/how intense it is. But I take 2 away because it’s personally way too overpowering and it made my hair tangled after the shower.
The products are amazing. I didn’t exactly have the same issue with the scent, because although strong, it didn’t last on my hair, only kind of out of the bottle, so to speak. I also felt like the benefits outweighed the scent, and who knows? Maybe there’s a way down the road, to make most, if not all of them, unscented.
I started off with the scalp products, loved each and every one, haven’t really done much with the scalp serum, but I think it’s because I kind of forget to. The Master cleanse bottle, the ease of use, the way it reaches scalp is well thought out.
The Never Salty Scrub really gets in there and helps me take care of the scalp. If nothing else from the line, I think these scalp products are worth their weight in gold. As for the Hustle and Co (Co-wash) and Make it Rain conditioner, I didn’t notice that the Make it Rain really made my coils pop after shower and it was really revealing to see.
I haven’t had too many cleansing or conditioning products really show up my texture so much as that one. I also think the Co-Wash combined with the Make it Rain in the palm of my hand was amazing to apply, a trick I got from listening to a “Wash Day” conversation on the TPH YouTube.
I think that elevated both my washing and conditioning experience. As for the Repair and Styling Lines, I still have to see for results, but I did go back to pick up the Smooth Attitude Mending Milk and from the Repair line, I got Real Love, so I’ll try those out.
I don’t really think it’s about the smell, I need to see results. Life’s too short to have hair being half of what it could be. Anyone who remembers some of the dandruff control stuff out there, etc and other products have probably smelled worse, and still proceeded to figure it out.
My daughter has serious curls so I had a hard time trying to decide which conditioners, etc, she would need because of her thicker texture and serious necessity for detangler. What I love about this conditioner is that it is a more natural conditioner compared to other children’s conditioners in store.
There are no parabens, no phthalates, no sulfates, no mineral oil, no dyes. I feel safer using Sky Organics. The conditioner does an amazing job with detangling – it takes so much less time to do her hair because I am spending almost no time on tangles.
Before, we’d brush her hair in the tub then have to do it all over again once her hair had dried some. Not anymore! Her curls look natural and healthy.
I love Skyorganics! I decided to try their entire curl care wash day line and Im beyond satisfied. The conditioner needs to be left in for some time, it has a light rose hip earthy smell but is not overly strong or displeasing.
It washes out nicely without leaving your hair feeling slimy or weighed down. Like the shampoo, you only need a bit, even for those who have long, thick curly hair like mine. I use it on my toddlers curls also.
I played around with using the cream and mask without the shampoo/conditioner and if you have to do without these two alone will help. But get the whole set for the ultimate benefits.
Out of all the products I’ve used this is by far the best. My hair is naturally curly and I’ve been testing products for 30 years and yes in 30 years I’ve not found a product that makes my curls so soft, frizz free and perfectly defined.
Its 100% was and go. No need to finger curl or anything. I love this product. ” – Cindy W. Get ready to end the product junkie lifestyle and replace all your styling products with this powerhouse. Wash + Go’s will be your new go-to style.
The best part is that you only have to style your hair once a week. Sounds too good to be true? It’s not! How To Use: Step 1 – Pure Aloe Vera Shampoo Step 2 – Pure Grapeseed Conditioner Step 3 – Pure Avocado Moisturizer Step 4 – Pure Flaxseed Gel Style Time: About 30 min – 1 hr/per week Hair Type: It works on all hair types.
Product Consistency: Gooey + Lightweight Potent Ingredient: The Argan Oil softens and strengthens dry, brittle hair which ultimately minimizes damage, growing long and healthy hair. Style Lasts: 3 – 7 days Fragrance: Lemon Creme Size: Four 8oz Bottles.
It’s okay. fragrance is NOT free of Fragrance. Maybe there is no artificial scents added but there is definitely a floral scent that lingers a little. Because I am really sensitive to smell this was truly disappointing.
Maybe there was a warning and I just missed it. When I use a LOT of the conditioner or moisturizer it’s a great detangler. This is typical with my hair. Style wise it was fine enough. Seemed to be a lot of steps for my daughter’s (3yo) and my (40yo) curls to just look good, nothing spectacular.
HOWEVER I have not yet done the part where I blow-dry/defuse the hair which they do explicitly say is an important step and will yield the best curls. So that is on me. I just expected before purchasing that I could get great curls with a wash and go or twist out no blowdrying needed.
Even the twist out was good but not mind blowing 🙂 All in all if there was no smell I would purchase the shampoo again as it was gentle but good. Everything else probably not.
This light no-suds conditioning cream gently removes residue including all of the things you’ve used to style and maintain your coils and curls. Now it’s time for a new beginning. This light creamy conditioning lotion spreads easily throughout to cleanse your hair and scalp.
Detangling is wonderfully easy and rinsing is too. And there’s much more. This cowash is different from any other because it contains a special blend of natural ingredients including saw palmetto and phytosterols that help promote healthy hair growth from the follicular level.
so this is the second jar for me and it lasts a while. I only use it every now and then maybe one or two times a week. the consistency is like a conditioner and it definitely doesn’t lather (no wonder since it’s not a shampoo) BUT, co wash is the wrong word for this product if you ask me.
co wash is washing with conditioner only. This co wash really cleans the hair but also tends to make my hair feel a LITTLE dry. so I use my regular conditioner afterwards! make sure to rinse it really good so it doesn’t leaves residue (never happened to me) in your hair.
my scalp gets really clean and my hair too, the hair feels clean but a little different than after using shampoo. I don’t know if I really love this product but for the price it is ok and I definitely like it.
if your hair is really dry you should be careful with using it every day or every wash. make sure you use a conditioner afterwards, I don’t think you can skip that part with this product. maybe I’d call it creamy non foaming shampoo instead of cleansing conditioner.
I have straight color treated Asian hair & this product worked so good for me! My hair is also high in density, long, and low porosity. My roots get oily pretty quickly so I wash my hair every other day or sometimes I’ll have 2 days in between my washes.
I’m also prone to seborrhoeic dermatitis flare ups when I don’t wash often. Since my hair is a bit damaged, it is also dull, frizzy, and dry. In my old routine, my hair was literally at its worst after washes and the day after is when my hair looks its best.
Ever since I incorpoated my co-wash, my hair has looked its best all the time! I also now have 3 days in between my regular shampoo days (second day is cowash day) and it’s really helped my hair. There was also barely any breakage, which I usually had quite a lot of in my previous wash routine.
I rlly recommend this product, especially if you want to reduce how often you shampoo while still technically washing your hair.
Cleanse your treated and coloured curls with Mixed Chicks Sulfate Free Shampoo. Mixed race hair needs special treatment to really care for your curls, which is where Mixed Chicks come in. Mixed Chucks Sulfate Free Shampoo has been specially formulated to care for chemically treated and coloured hair, ensuring your hair isn’t stripped of it’s natural oils.
The recipe is stuffed with olive, avocado and sweet almond oil to provide a burst of moisture – just what your hair needs to be at it’s best. Lather into your hair and rinse for beautiful curls.
This is everything that a shampoo should be. My first impression of the smell was that it just smells clean- it smells like what soap should smell like. Other than that, I can’t really explain it. I used it once so far, so I’m not quite a pro with it and I don’t really know the best way to use it for myself.
I used a kinda big glob at first and it was kinda hard to lather, but it could have been my mistake because my previous shampoo was very easy to lather. So then I got my hair wetter and got another glob the same size and put it on the back of my head underneath my hair and it worked better, but then I had to put another big glob straight onto the top of my head.
It didn’t really work for me when I rubbed it in my hands and then applied it. When I did get a lather out of it, it was so creamy and rich and just. nice. My hair is so shiny and soft and very smooth, and this is the first day I haven’t had dandruff in probably 5 years.
I looked close up at my scalp and there’s no buildup. This definitely is a game changer for me, and I’m gonna be using this for a very long time.
I use other MC products and they do well by me. I tried the MC shampoo and have to say it really cleans deeply. I don’t shampoo too often, but when I have a lot of product build-up I like to get a good deep shampoo and this worked.
I would say it is a “clarifying shampoo”. Smells good. For value, I will say 4 stars instead of 5 only because you can get cheaper shampoos around. My problem with the super cheap stuff is I wonder where it comes from and what is in it.
Seriously, how can a 1L shampoo cost 6 dollars?! Absolutely zero chance of someone making that without bad working conditions. I will pay for the quality. MC is worth it in a fair way.
I’ve been using the Mixed Chicks shampoo for a couple weeks now and I’m really satisfied with it. My hair feels stronger, thicker, and has more volume. It’s not overly drying but still gets my hair clean (which is great because I oil up easily).
The scent is pleasant but not anything overwhelming, so scent-haters will be okay. The only slightly off thing is the texture. Not bad at all, just stickier than other shampoos I’ve used, which was a bit unexpected.
Overall, I have no complaints and plan to keep this in my regular hair routine.
Creamy Wash N ́Go Conditioner, similar to a custard. Coconut Oil and Kokum Butter are blended with coconut milk and super conditioning plant peptides in an ultra-hydrating formula that smooths and removes frizz while promoting beautifully defined curls.
It is recommended to apply on clean and damp hair. Work from roots to ends. Leave on for up to three minutes. Rinse. Prepare hair for styling with our Primer Wash N ́Go Curl Primer for a Wash N ́ Go with staying power.
I don’t believe in perfect/miraculous product, there are a lot of gimmicky products out there that target our insecurities. But Shea Moisture’s daily hydration line (shampoo, conditioner, leave-in) is the best life line of products I have used in ages! I have tried Pantene, L’Oreal, Garnier, and more expensive shampoos like Redken and Function of Beauty.
They didn’t do anything for my hair that was dry. My Indian hair is slightly wavy and sometimes straight depending on what I use as well as the environmental factors (moisture, humidity, etc. ). There were stressful changes in my life, and along with a lot of other factors my hair started to change its texture.
My strands were drying up and they just didn’t look the same and luscious when I styled my hair. The wave patterns sometimes would seem more crinkled. I’d say it’s medium thickness. I don’t seek volumizing products, because they further dry up the hair.
I have short hair. I also have a bit of a sensitive scalp. And products made for scalps can also dry up the hair. I randomly picked up the travel size version of this shampoo. At first, I didn’t know what to think of it.
On later uses, I tried using a little more shampoo than before, I think that’s the trick. Usually, other shampoos are full of lathering agents such as sulfates (I don’t think it’s a bad thing), but this shampoo is more gentle, so more is needed for my hair to get it clean.
I usually don’t like gentle shampoos, because they can tangle up my hair. But this Shea Hydration shampoo was absolutely wonderful. It genuinely brought back the lusciousness in my hair that I was missing for months! I am not always a fan of the tropical/coconuty smell, but this scent is bearable.
It kind of smells like fresh coconut milk, not the stronger coconut oil smell. So it’s okay. I’d prefer the scent to be reduced, but honestly it doesn’t bother me as absolutely love how nourishing this product is.
I must say that while the shampoo & conditioner’s scent is all right, the leave-in conditioner is definitely way more scented, and it needs to be toned down. My ultimate opinion: PLEASE don’t change the formula of this shampoo like every other brand has been doing.
This is a gorgeous hair product, and works amazingly for ethnically diverse hair types. Such products are really hard to find. Please keep creating beautiful products. I’m thoroughly impressed!.
I have been using the Shea Moisture conditioner for approximately two weeks and was provided them by #trywithtopbox as a #freeproduct for my honest review. I have fine, thin, waist length hair that is naturally blonde starting to go grey, that is prone to split ends and I would describe as normal to oily.
I don’t wash it daily but every 2 to 3 days it’s just too much work to do daily. I used the conditioner as directed and found that my hair combed out fairly easily even while still wet which was great as it tends to tangle quite badly when I don’t use a good conditioner on it.
My hair was soft and shiny and manageable. The container for this feels slightly greasy when I handle it during use even after rinsing them off. The conditioner bottle uses a pump as a dispenser which is great but I couldn’t get the original one that came with the bottle to function.
I replaced it with one I had but I noticed that the thick conditioner dries and forms a plug that takes several pumps to force out. Overall I would say this was a good product that worked as advertised and if someone was looking to try this I would recommend it, I’m not sure if it is the best choice for me given the frequency with which I wash my hair.
Gently cleanses curls and the scalp to avoid product build up while a unique blend of natural butters and oils provide deep moisture. Made with 100% Pure Shea Butter and formulated without harsh Ingredients, Cantu for Natural hair restores your real, authentic beauty.
Embrace your curly, kinky, or wavy hair with Cantu for Natural Hair. No mineral oil, sulfates, parabens, silicone, phthalates, gluten, paraffin, propylene, paba or dea.
This product changed my life. Before I found out about Cantu, I had heat damaged, dry, lifeless hair AND I was spending $15-20 on ineffective products, hoping something would help me like my hair. Then I found this online and decided to give it a try.
I’m so happy I did because it gave me so much confidence in my 3c/4a curls! Figuring out my routine with it took some trial and error- I find that watering this down in the less curly areas and applying while my hair is still dripping wet in small sections makes my hair much bouncier and more defined.
I also scrunch after it air dries. Everything else I use is also in the Cantu line, so the smell is very consistent (I get lots of compliments!)Love this! Will buy it forever! I went from a stylist telling me my hair felt like straw to my stylist telling me it feels super soft and moisturized! (Buy it at Bed, Bath, and Beyond with a coupon- it’s much cheaper that way).
I love this product and bought extra as a gift for someone. But the way they were packaged together with sellotape ripped all the writing and information off so it doesn’t look like a new product. I was then unable to give any of them as a gift.
Which was disappointing. I can and will still use them for myself as I love love love this co-wash. So it’s not a bad thing. Just maybe package them in an alternative way. Like no sellotape x.
I love this stuff because it doesn’t strip your hair. It cleanses the hair gently without taking to much natural oil. I love the lather , very bubbly. It gets the job done and cleanses the hair thoroughly.
I like to use this for my afro texture children. It’s better to use a good co wash instead of shampoo. This one doesn’t disappoint.
I have been using Mixed Chicks products for a few years now for my daughter. I researched for a while for something like this and I will not use any other hair product on my daughters curly hair! It is great! I like the fact that it is for any type of curly hair.
I also recommend their conditioner and leave-in conditioner. The products leave my daughter hair so smooth and frizz free. She is always gets compliments and I can assure that it is because of the Mixed Chicks products.
This product was recommended by a friend who is mixed, whose husband is mixed, and therefore whose 2 tween and teen girls are mixed. My LO is also mixed, 2-almost 3, and plays with her hair for comfort.
She comes home almost every day with one dreadlock in the making. I have tried detanglers, pink hair lotion, even baby oil none worked the wonders that MIXED CHICK products work. If the knot is extremely bad I slather on the leave-in conditioner on dry hair before I throw her in the bath.
By the time I soap her down and get to her hair I am usually able to just pull the knot out. If not, I shampoo and condition with MIXED CHICKS, and apply leave-in conditioner one more time. That has so far always worked.
This product line is utterly A-MAZING!!!! On top of that they don’t have an overpowering fragrance like J&J leave-in conditioner and they’re all natural. How great!.
As I mentioned in my review of the conditioner in this same line of products, what initially drew me to trying a kid’s hair care product as an adult woman was my quest to find a curly-centric product that wasn’t so heavily fragranced.
It seems like curly girl products are so heavily perfumed across the board, and my husband can’t tolerate a heavily perfumed product (I myself don’t really see the appeal in that). This is a neutral smelling, non-drying shampoo.
I condition each day of the week with Mixed Chicks Kids Conditioner, and wash my hair 2 – 3 x’s a week with this product. I also use it daily as a body wash since it is nice and mild and does not dry my skin out.
All in all, a great product for curly girls (or guys) of all ages!.
The perfect hybrid, a between shampoo and co-wash, Hair-Wash is a lightly foaming, sulfate-free, gentle shampoo inspired by gentle milky skin cleansers for your face. This soft, silky, moisturizing shampoo reliably cleanses without stripping your hair and smells like a bowl of cereal milk.
Okay so let me preface this review by saying that I am not a curly haired girl. I have naturally pretty straight hair. I wanted to try this because I have a really dry scalp and one of the issues this hair cleanser says to help is dry scalp.
This definitely does smell like fruit loops, however the scent is a little too strong for me. I’ve never used a shampoo like this before but it surprisingly didn’t bother me that it wasn’t lathering like I’m used to shampoos doing.
My scalp doesn’t feel as dry as it normally does. One of the main things I noticed after using this is how unbelievably soft my hair feels. I was worried that since my hair is straight it may make it look a little more oily and weighed down, but my hair looks great.
Even my husband made a comment about how good it looked. All in all I’m very impressed by how this performed.
I have short type 4a/4b hair. I bought this because I thought it was a co-wash. it is not. it is a very, very gentle shampoo. (that’s on me for not reading carefully enough. ) but I gave it a try anyway, and it was just okay.
it was difficult to get through my hair, whether I used a comb or my fingers, and I used more of the product than I thought I would need for my short hair. it left my hair feeling dry after I rinsed it out, but that was fine once I followed up with conditioner.
my curls did look nice when I came out of the shower, and my hair and scalp felt clean. I’ll keep this for when I want to deep clean my curls, but I don’t think I’ll buy it again.
i think this is generally a good product. it smells AMAZING (like froot loops) and i always get compliments on how good i smell on wash days (i don’t even have to wear perfume if i wash my hair bc it just makes me smell so good).
i will say, if you have oily hair or use a lot of product, definitely have a detoxifying shampoo on hand because i find this one. i have a pretty oily scalp and find that if i just use this shampoo i normally can’t get out all of the buildup very easily so i typically rotate out a clarifying shampoo once every week or so.
however, if you have normal-dry hair this would absolutely be perfect for you for regular use and even with oily hair it’s great for days where i don’t have a lot of buildup, but just want to freshen up my hair a bit.

These products are LITERALLY magic! My hair was pretty dry and not at its healthiest, as it was damaged from years of heat. But after using the shampoo and the hair mask for a month, the difference was outstanding! My hair has never been this healthy and shiny before! Plus these products smell amazing in my hair and I love them! I recommended these products to my friends and I know I’m buying more!.
I’ve never really believed in deep conditioners because they’ve never done anything for my hair! Like EVER! So, after becoming a fan of G+H products, I had high hopes for their new Curl Cloud mask. I have Type 4C hair to the tenth power 😩 (really, really dry and straw-like) so to say I was blown away with the results is an understatement.

bought the styling cream and gel after watching lots of different videos. I used it like it said in the videos but I have lots of fine wavy hair down my back that always goes frizzy so using a little bit of product still left me with frizz but when I used lots I loved how it gave my curls more definition but it feels kind of greasy, like when you have lots of product build up after 4 or 5 days.
Also I still have frizz all over. Do you have any styling tips that could help please? I did email you but never heard back. I just bought the mega hold gel and also some pineapple protectors and the conditioner, how would you advise to use everything to get best results? I like bigger hair with waves but when I get this I always have frizz, what can I put on dry hair when it’s styled to tame down the frizz? Any help would be much appreciated.
I have attached some pics to show you my hair type. The pic where I have the black top is when I just did my hair and I loved it, but the other pics are the next day and it looks really frizzy , and overloaded with product.
( videos online said to wet hair next day and apply little bit more product to refresh look, but I must have done something wrong because my hair looked super frizzy and really overloaded). You can see on 2 pics where my hair looks lighter *1st day, and curls are really defined.
But others my hair looks orangey*2nd day ( not a word! Lol) I have spent years straightening and then curling my hair as I could never get smooth curl naturally and it would just look messy, these are the first products that have made my natural hair look good, even nicer than with curlers!.
As I am new to natural curls any advice would be greatly appreciated. Julie Q.
There are a few things to keep in mind when choosing a wash and go product for 4a hair. The first is to make sure that the product is designed for 4a hair type. The second is to choose a product that will provide moisture and definition.
And the third is to select a product that is easy to use and will not leave the hair feeling heavy or greasy.
