20 Best Warm Gloves For Winter (2023 Updated)

My Black Diamond Legend Gloves lasted only 3 months (10 user days for a few hours each day for a total of no more than 30 hours of total use). The outside sheep skin leather tore along the seam for 5 inches, rendering the glove completely useless.

I was so disappointed in the quality of workmanship. I was also deeply disappointed in how cold these gloves were. I bought them for winter dog walks and they were the coldest gloves I own. Obviously Black Diamond does not field test their gloves or they wouldn’t sell these cold of gloves.

How can a “reputable” outdoor manufacturer offer such a disappointing product is beyond me. For the price you pay for these gloves I was expecting much more from Black Diamond. I couldn’t submit a warranty claim within the warranty period because I had misplaced my invoice.

Once I located my invoice I submitted a warranty claim even though it was well past the deadline. The warranty department did offered my a discount towards a new pair, but good sense would tell you to stay clear of all Black Diamond gloves.

Well I usually don’t write many negative reviews unless the purchase is really useless! I bought this hoping to be able to use it in Toronto’s winter. It is bulky (and I have relatively big hands as a woman), the material is stiff, so the touchscreen fingers isn’t flexible enough to be working properly.

It is NOT windproof at all, I almost got frostbite in -10 centigrade. It is NOT warm at all, you definitely need a base layer gloves to keep your hand warm. It is only probably humidity-resistent, and thus definitely only can be used in snowboarding skiing with a base layer.

Not an everyday gloves!.

I’ve been using this during winter mountain biking and I find the thickness works well for both the index and thumb to change gears and put one finger on the brake. I’ve taken these in -10C and have worked well so far.

Other reviewers mentioned the index can get a bit colder than other fingers, but it has been manageable so far. I’m usually a large in gloves. This fits as a slightly snug large which makes sense to keep the precision with the index and thumb.

I also find the thumb a bit better with the touch screen than the index finger. Not sure why. Overall, these are great!.

These are really nice because they are not too thick and allow decent dexterity. I use them as cycling gloves down to about 0 degrees and they are warm enough. I have small hands and purchased a size small and they are quite snug but do loosen up a bit with time.

Overall, I am happy with this purchase.

Weatherproof gloves to keep hands warm as it claims. The gloves are well constructed and fit perfect to the size. However, it come with two downsides: (1) difficult to wear when hands are wet/sweaty and (2) hard to dry after long day of use.

Still worth it though in my opinion.

I bought this on a sale to replace my falling apart shell glove. I was expecting a shell for this, but I couldn’t be more wrong. This glove is very warm/heavily insulated. Waterproofing was good too.

Dexterity wasn’t bad with poles when I went splitboarding with it in the back country. Depending on what you need it for, it’s a great glove. With the padding/protection, I plan on using it mostly for glades and general riding in winter.

Might be too warm for spring skiing Can’t comment on the durability of the product as I only used it for one season, but the outer material feels solid and stood up to rocks/trees.

These gloves are just the right amount of thickness. By that I mean they keep my hands warm while still allowing my fingers to move freely so that I can work on whatever I need to. Another cool thing about them is that I no longer have to take my glove off Everytime I need to use my phone because these allow the pointer finger on both hands to work a touch screen phone.

oh my gosh. I got these gloves and put them on and didnt want to take them off. They are the most comfortable gloves I have ever owned. There is it 1 negative thing that I can say about them. You can’t beat the price either.

If you are looking for a sharp looking, comfortable set of gloves, you must get these.

I bought the brown ones first and love them, but they could use a longer wrist. I bought black because of how much I liked brown. They will not break in the same way as the brown and I swear if feels like the lining is a size too small, sometimes I can’t even get them on because the thumb is so tight.

I asked about exchanging and they are going to have me return them and I have to pay shipping. On defective gloves. I am thinking they will end up going in the trash instead because I am not going to wait in line at the post office during pandemic and pay to return a defective item.

Nice gloves. I needed a new pair since I lost my gloves last year. They are made of real leather, which I like. They’re plain and not to flashy or embellished w/ a lot of details. I got the black gloves.

I CAN’T STRESS ENOUGH how important it is to **measure your hand as directed and use the size chart** to determine what size you actually need. I measured my hand and chose the large size based on the measurement, even though I have pretty small hands.

I was worried about the gloves not fitting, but they do fit, and I was surprised. I have a little bit of space – less than an inch – at the tips of some of the fingers. I’m really glad I didn’t go w/ my gut though and get a smaller size thinking my hands are small because then the glove opening would have been too small to squeeze my hand into.

The gloves are slightly tight across the back of my hand, but I believe the leather will stretch over time and become more soft and flexible and comfortable and feel less tight.

These gloves are great. Their measuring chart is very accurate, so use it!! I have average size hands and ordered a large and they fit perfectly. Super soft leather on the outside and soft lining on the inside that will keep me warm here in Minnesota with no problem.

What a great price too!.

These gloves look great and promised great things, but the leather is paperthin and tears easily when doing anything while wearing them. The black dye started rubbing off, and I only wore them one time for about a half hour.

I used these in Yellowstone and Grand Tetons last week. It was 0F and 15F on the 2 days I was in Yellowstone. These gloves kept my hands toasty. I didn’t use the Heat Co liners though. I used some ~$10 liners I bought at a big box store, and they worked just fine.

I’ll compare shooting with these gloves to my Yosemite trip last Thanksgiving in ~15-20F where I had liners and a different brand, high-quality snowboarding mittens. With Heat Co mittens and other brand liners: – fingers get cold in unzipped mode after extended shooting.

as expected because liners aren’t going to keep my fingers warm in 0-15F. – fingers warm up faster once put back in the mittens. – if speed and mobility are important in your shooting, you could quickly put fingers in/out of mittens in-between shots while moving around (without zipping up).

This helps to keep your fingers warm. With snowboarding mittens/liner combo: – entire hand gets cold when I pulled off the mittens to shoot. as expected. – takes longer to warm up my hands once the mittens come back on.

– a hassle and slower to put on/off mittens when in-between shots. I hope this helps you determine if paying the premium is worth it for your needs. It was totally worth it for me.

I waited several years to buy these gloves because of the high price of $180. I bit the bullet. I tried these gloves in a simple 60 minute walk around the block in 30 degree weather with no wind. Much to my surprise, my thumbs were cold the entire walk.

My fingers stayed cold for the first 30 minutes of the 60 minute walk, indeed until after walking up a long hill halfway through the walk. The gloves are very difficult to use. It is nearly impossible to grasp the short pull tag to open the mitten cover over the fingers & it was similarly difficult to pull up the zipper of my parka.

The zipper ends on the palms of the gloves bothered my hands. Removing the gloves was the clincher – each time I removed the mittens, the fingers of the integral gloves inverted in pulling off the mittens.

It is not easy to correct this, certainly not with one mitten still on. Straightening out the fingers was very frustrating & I think a definite design flaw. The magnets cause the gloves to stick together when off which is annoying.

My many years old LL Bean ski gloves with the same PrimaLoft stuffing are equally as warm.

These gloves are so warm and cozy. Incredibly soft, with very high quality cashmere and such a pretty color, I got the light purple. The fit is perfect, I take a small and usually have problems with the fingers being too long, but these fit perfectly.

I highly recommend these gloves. Well worth the price.

A little bling on such a mundane item is always a good thing. Add in the exceptional feeling of cashmere with expertly applied jewels (no visible sewing) and I’m going to look super cute when out on the town.

Keep these for a more social / special occasion as they are a bit delicate and best not used for regularly daily wear. Purchasing another set in black and grey for me, and gifts for my nieces. I wear a 7-8 glove and have long fingers.

The gloves fit but the fingers are a bit short for me and I have to be aware not to pull them up too tightly. The beanie fits well. Enjoy!.

Not worth the money. The inner glove looks so cheap and is has those little balls all over it from wearing them less than 2 weeks and the outer waterproof glove fingers were too short despite the inner pair fitting well.

The I bought a small which is always my size. But as I mentioned the fit is very strange. Also, the material is suppose to work with phones, but I had to constantly take my gloves off while skiing because they weren’t working.

So that was also frustrating. The look is nice, and the slits for heat packs is great. But with the fingers being short it feels weird and does not allow for a good grip when skiing or sledding etc. Overall, these gloves are not worth the money.

But if you have very short fingers and others normal hands these could be for you, just remember the inner glove are cheaply made and finger length is normal.

I own more Columbia gear than any other brand and have always been impressed with their durability & performance (especially at the corresponding price point). It’s rare that I am disappointed with their gear, but sadly this is one of those instances.

The technical features of these gloves are outstanding – – cuff adjustability, pull tabs, removable/elastic leashes, webbing adjustments, soft/absorbant wipe, etc. However, the digit insulation is not very good, so finger tips get cold quickly, even with the liners on and in moderately cold temps (20 – 30 degF).

Fix this shortcoming and you’ve got an excellent glove for winter activities. Fix it while keeping MSRP reasonable and you have the best value on the market. FWIW, I was not aware of the Wild Card version of these gloves when I made this purchase and am curious if they solve this problem.

but I won’t risk trying them since I’m already stuck with one pair of gloves that I have no real use for.

My hands dry excessively in the winter due to exposure to the cold air. These gloves are thin and act as a second skin for me. They are not the warmest gloves, but they work as a base layer for thicker winter gloves if required.

The touch sensitive padding is only on the index finger; however, it is much better quality than the thin piece of layer most other gloves use that can easily tear and rip. There gloves are highly recommended.

I like almost everything about these gloves: They are good looking, and with the red trim, easy to keep your eye on so you don’t lose track of them. Well made, very warm for their weight and thickness, they work well for Nordic skiing (for me) from 30 degrees F down to about 10.

What makes the gloves less than absolutely great is that the liners of the gloves are not fully attached inside the shells and, when hands are the slightest bit damp, the liners can pull out of the fingers of the shells when removing the gloves.

It can be difficult to get the liners properly back into the shells. It’s a significant drawback on an otherwise very good product.

Stretchy , grippy and touch screens friendly gloves. That would be the shortest description. True to size ,high quality materials. But I wouldn’t use them for winter activities or really cold days. Gloves are just too thin to provide warmth.

Palmar side has added very sticky V shaped rubber ? bars. Not sure how friction resistant they would be in heavier use but for holding camera on a trial , changing lenses etc , that extra grip works beautifully.

XL fits in the hand but the fingers are short. XXL fits fingers but huge for palm. Overall it runs slightly small Updated: glove stretches a little bit so if it starts out on the small side it will likely fit ?like a glove? after a couple wears.

Breathes well.

I really like the material of the K Line which is a distinct characteristic and allows for such a nice fit. I wore the K Lines out running in the desert a few weeks ago and have worn the warm version running in Breckenridge and even wore them skate skiing on a warmer day last week – they are really warm! Even for me being someone who has a difficult time keeping their hands warm.

I really think CAMP is onto something with these as they are like no glove I’ve had before.

The items purchased were useless. This is due to the Odlo’s own very inaccurate sizing guide. I bought these kids gloves but they were so big that it might as well be for adults. The return policy is not simple, after reading it.

I wish they would cultivate better direct online shopping experiences. Maybe start with a better sizing system.

The quality of this product is really nice, my fiance says they are really warm inside. Looks exactly like it does in the pictures. Took a bit to come here due to all the shipment delays from Covid, but they came in great condition.

I got this pair of gloves to continue trail running during the cold months and they are perfect so far, a bit on the warm side but it will be great when it gets colder in a few weeks! Only issue I have is that I ordered them in size L thinking they would be ok (I had issues in the past with gloves being too small and blocking the blood circulation in your fingers).

But they are actually slightly too big for me. Even if it’s only half a cm, it makes it funky to use your phone or lace your shoes with them. Cannot really judge the durability yet but they seem well constructed and more durable than all the other similar gloves I got before.

PRO: Comfortable Fit Easy of and on With no problems. The price is Great! Very Durable with Great Finger Grip. CON: I needed these gloves to work for a good 2 (Two) hours in 10 degree weather. I lasted 15 minutes before finger tips needed to get inside to warm back up.

I Hand shovel snow from the Corral, from the patio, from the 200 foot walkway and stairs and from a 300 foot driveway. Good work glove in cold weather – In FREEZING Weather I had to change gloves to another pair but still had a good case of 20 minute STINGING frost bite after an hour and a half in 18 degree weather.

As an ironworker for almost 25 years every winter I would search for warm winter gloves. The ones I would get before discovering these gloves were either too bulky with no dexterity or would last for about a month or would resort to welding gloves (try bolting up with those on ).

The Hardy gloves really surprised me with the warmth; dexterity and durability I needed. Worth every penny !.

The gloves look nice and well constructed, but they run very small. I wear a large, have for years. Most large gloves fit perfectly, some run a little small but are still usable. These are so small that I will not be able to use them at all.

I’ve got other Hardy gloves that fit okay. Double checked the tags these and they’re large. You’ll probably want to size up or at least try them on in the store.

Supe warm but a tad bulky. I love the color and the feel of the gloves inside. My only small grip is the pictures makes them look thinner than what they are. I do have big hands so a M/L is still a bit snug.

I’d still recommend them.

Bought these gloves for my husband. who has large hands. Bought the XL but the fingers were extremely long. So. I got the Large. The fingers were also extremely long. Don’t know who could possibly wear these gloves.

No “human” has fingers as long as these gloves! Returned both pairs.

I wanted waterproof warm gloves that weren’t too bulky. These are exactly that! I got the S/M size and they are a little too small, but I’m definitely going to exchange for the next size up because I need these for those cold days.

The gloves are so comfortable. Dexterity is high. These are warm down to 21 degrees and then below that or with a windchill or as we had freezing rain for an entire day the fingers began to freeze painfully so.

Once the temperature rose above 40 my hands sweat in these and then the sweat would get cold to a stiff fingers degree. I would recommend these to anyone in construction or working outdoors in 20-40 degree weather.

I work 9 hr days from literal dawn outside. These have been a great asset and would recommend these to anyone. Other guys I work with have Carrhart Winter Gloves but the dexterity isn’t as great and get as cold and hot as these do.

The one major flaw is the lack of wrist coverage. So working in freezing wet and high winds may not be suitable for these gloves.

I was working working as a ramp agent at an airport in Minnesota. I tried various types of gloves and glove/liner combos with no success. Some were too bulky for handling semi delicate tasks, soMe were not warm enough, some were not waterproof, etc.

These are the gloves that solved all my cold-hand problems. almost. I coupled these with some thin polypropylene glove liners and never looked back. Snowy, icy, blizzard, slushy, these held up. They were warm and waterproof.

When the temp dropped below zero (-10 to -30) and the wind picked up soMe timea my fingers would get cold. But, we would keep disposable or zippo hand warmers in our pockets, warm up our fingers every 15-30 minutes and keep plugging.

I am a fan of these gloves! That’s why I am buying another pair even though I do t work at the airport anymore.

My hands are always cold from working outside in the tow truck industry. Hard to get on and off when going in and out of customers cars so you don’t get their cars oily or greasy from having to hook the cars up, and from cleaning an accident scene.

The exterior of the glove is extremely durable, and my hands stay dry, which is a HUGE plus. The inside liner, however, comes out with your hand, so you have to try to put your hand in the same way it came out so the liner doesn’t get bunched up in the fingertips, that eats up time.

Time sometimes is very limited and you have angry State Patrol and traffic breathing down your neck to free up the roadway. Perhaps offering a glove with 100 grams or more Thinsulate, and offering an open wrist for easier access and removal.

With the lining attached somehow in the fingertips to prevent coming out with your hand as you take your glove off. The gloves are good for weather in the 50 to low 20’s at best. Nothing below the 20’s or there is a good chance your hands will get cold.

Here’s what I don’t like: While these gloves are a double layer of fleece and seem ok for medium cold temps, they are ruined by poor design at the wrist. The elastic hits right at the wrist joint and is sewn tight enough to make me constantly aware of it.

(My wrists are very slender and measure exactly 6-1/2 inches at the joint). The elastic also causes the short 1 inch cuff to flare outwards, so the cuff will not fit under or over a coat sleeve, but sticks out.

The plastic panel on the palm area is stitched around the edges only, so it tends to puff outward into the palm area. It should be removed totally, or stitched down differently. I buy a large in all other brands of women’s gloves.

I think these run wide and short compared to other brands. It was not worth it to me to return these. I will try to get some wear out of them on winter walks with the dog, but I will never like these gloves and would not buy again.
