Best Usborne Books For Toddlers (2024 Updated)

I used this book with my 36 year old daughter when she was little less than 2 years old and then with her brother. The delightful cartoon style by Stephen Cartwright is ideal for little people and entertaining for bigger people.

There is a little yellow duck to find on every double page. We have this book in French, Chinese and Russian and I have just bought it in Spanish. I have bought it again for a friend, It is great value, in fact I don’t think it costs much more now than when we bought it 35 years ago.

It is quite useful to compare alongside other language versions for adults just starting another language.

Bought this book 30 years ago for my son and now for my Granddaughter. Lots to detailed colourful pictures of things to talk about and for very young children to learn plus a little yellow duck to search for on each page for added interest and enjoyment.

Delightful. So much to talk to a child about. Pictures that tell a story as well as items illustrated and named.

Very detailed and full pictures. I bought this after an order from a different company for the 1st 100 words, failed to arrive. At the moment I think the pictures are a bit too overwhelming for my 2 18 month grandsons.

But it is a book that will definitely be browsed through over the next few years.

My 9. 5 month old daughter is OBSESSED with these books. We have a couple of them now and she’s gotten good at flipping the pages on her own. Sometimes we read them 6+ times in a single day haha. I love that these books have a wide variety of textures through them.

So many similar books on the market are similar fur in different colours or rubbery things on every page. Imo having a good mixture like these books do is way more engaging for baby.

My little one has a bunch of these “that’s not my …” books! They’re cute, feel and touch books. Nice bright coloured pictures, font is large and book is a quick read. Affordable if you’re interested in a few lol the complete collection can be pricy.

My kids (especially my 1 year old) love these “that’s not my” books! They love how they have something to feel on every page. We’ve read them so much that they have memorized the pages. The books are so cute!.

I bought this book for our Daughter 25 years ago, which we still have kept, and although it is well worn, her son who is 2 loves it, so this is a new copy for him to have at home. It’s a great book to look at together to help learn words and associate with pictures.

The condition of this is really good and we were thrilled to be able to still find it. We call it the Duck book, because there is a small duck to find on every page.

Came as described. Replacing/Up grading the condition of the book I have already. Its a good book to have with lots different places you go, subjects to talk about/look up/find objects in. Its not a story book you could make some up.

lovely reminder of my childhood and my children love it! They want it most nights as a bedtime story, which basically means my describign the scenes to them. It is also really good for helping my little 4 year old learn to read, as the items in the pictures are all redisplayed round the edge of each page with their name next to them.

funny how nice it is to have a book that makes you remember your own childhood!.

Extremely disappointed that the stickers were not included with the sale of this book. Without them, it shouldnt even be resold. No good to my kids now.

My grandson loves this book! The reusable bandages are lots of fun to make the animals’ booboos all better, and it’s a great way to engage a child in the interactive content of ‘fixing’ their owies. I definitely recommend this one.

The book arrived in good shape but the reusable bandages where not with the book! The bandages are what makes this book so cute!

This book has simple, easy to understand pictures. It has easy to understand language for kids (although, I make my own words up so my toddler understands). The lift the flaps are always fun for kids.

The only reason it is missing a star is because of that smoking flap, it should have a big red NO sign on top of it, rather than just a picture of someone smoking. I understand this book isn’t made with toddlers in mind, but my toddler finds it difficult to know what it is (he doesn’t see people smoking on a regular basis), even though I say it’s bad and makes you sick.

Otherwise, this book has taught him what a heart, lungs and brain are and where food goes.

Great little book, beautiful illustrations. It has taken me a few months to find a body book for my ‘Curious 6year old’. This book has been worth the wait in finding. Even my 11year old loves to read this so flexible age rating from me.

I bought this for my 3. 5 year old who started to show an interest in how the body works. It’s such a fantastic book, not only does it explain many things, but the flaps are incredible – some are double or triple flaps, others open in unexpected ways! We keep discovering new things each time we read it.

Fun for young and old! I think we’ll be enjoying this book for years and years to come.

This book was a Christmas gift for my 4-year old son. While he seems to look at it occasionally, the book is written in a cartoonish rather than a technical manner and I don’t think it contains as much detailed information as he would like.

However it does contain some solid information on a variety of vehicles and is interesting to page through. Personally I wouldn’t want to buy it again.

Use of American words and simplistic illustrations. Unattractive and lacking explanations of what the vehicles do. Returned.

Five year old grandson loves the book! While driving, we found tractors and loaders that were featured in the book, which made it more fun. Thanks for a neat book!

This a great book for Toddler. The book contains 100 animals with big pictures. Hard covered easy for toddler to turn the pages. My Toddler loves this book.

My 18 month old son loves all the animals. Nice pictures and also good tool for teaching colors with some of backgrounds on the pics. The price is also great.

My children loved this book when they were smaller. Its bright colors and pictures make it eye catching for our little ones. I know it will be the same for yours. I highly recommend this early learning book to any parents of small children.

Its design and materials make it sturdy which is alway a big help with tiny teethers.

Love these books. They’re great in length in terms of being short and able to keep my baby’s attention. They’re also great as there’s many different textures throughout which he loves to feel and touch, exposing him to a different sensory experience with each page.

My daughter loves this book. She’s 15 months and I wish I had ordered this months ago. The pages are easy for her to turn herself and she loves the textures and bright colors on each page. She’s drawn to this book and it has become a favorite in our home.

It will be going on lots of trips with us! The only problem I can see is I wish it were longer! Content is not exactly stellar, but it is educational and the textures and colors keeping a toddler’s attention says a lot!.

The perfect book for a dinosaur lover. Children can touch and feel and learn different describing words in a fun way.

I had bought this book for my children. I gave it to one of them for his own children, so I wanted to replace it. It is a very useful book for a bilingual family like mine.

My daughter loves it, she enjoys looking at all the silly things people are doing. Not just good for the words but teaching about health and safety, hospitals and lots if other things .

Wish they made even more! We have all these books and they are my 18month olds absolute favorite!! A go to shower and bday gift now too!

Great books for toddlers. The pages are full of animals to point at, and the pages are super thick, and not easily worn. Love this series.

Pros: Great classic book with bright, eye-catching colors. Good for repetitive learning. My LOs both love this book. Cons: There are a few odd things. Is Guinea pig really a first word? Some pics are the same (pic of dump truck for both “truck” & “dump truck”).

And it has both cat & kitten which is a little confusing for baby since it’s the same animal. (LO is supposed to distinguish the age of the dog/cat?) Overall good book. But a handful of simple changes would make it so much better.

Positives: My baby loves it! Clear picture and Sturdy board book for small price. Hard to tear by the babies! Negatives: Small in size. But, if you want bigger the same book, you can find for a little bit more higher price! So, don’t complain about the size because under $5 comes Not that big size you might want! We have no complaint about the size.

Nice book, nice photos but the words pajamas and car are used twice. The word dog and puppy are used but they are the same animal. The word cat and kitten are used but they are the same animal. There are plenty other words that could of been used.

We love Sandra Boynton books, and with Halloween coming up we decided to add this to our collection. It’s very cute, and if you like Sandra Boynton’s style, this is another great one to have!

I usually like to read books before I buy them bc if I dont enjoy it I don’t want to have to read it hundreds of times to my littles. But Sandra Boynton never disappoints! Another excellent book from this author!! Good size.

We love all these books so naturally had to try out the Halloween one. Super cute! Our toddler will absolutely love it come Halloween time.

My kids absolutely love this book. It’s the perfect introduction to emotions. My 2 year old can tell me what color he feels and why. It also helps me explain how they’ve made someone else feel from hitting or taking away.

Love this story about feelings. My daughter is 4 and has a hard time calming down and this book explains how sometimes our feelings can get all mixed up and we need to learn to separate them and put them in a jar.

The book itself is cute, but Target has labeled it wrong. It is not a board book, it’s a hard cover book. I don’t know if we’ll keep it because my toddlers tend to rip pages which is why I wanted a board book.

Wish the site wouldn’t have called this a board book.

Our baby loved it. We also bought other Priddy books with touch and feel and she liked all of them. He rhymes are pretty cute, she liked touching all animals. Now that she is older she brings them to me to read them for her.

Adorable book. I bought it for my granddaughter who turns 2 in June. She will love it as she loves animals and the touch/feel will be fun.

I remembered seeing this adorable book displayed on a shelf in a model home baby’s room recently and knew right away it would make a fabulous gift for any young child discovery world. I love the book and purchased this one for my nephew.

I will purchase more now for future birthday gifts because it is even more charming than I knew at quick glance. The tails are all tactile for learning the difference between soft and coarse and all other types of sensory development in a young child.

There are fold out and pull up pages. Each page is its own journey of discovery. I’m really so glad I remembered this book. It is a treasure.

My son loves that this book is interactive and he waits for me to finish reading the page before interacting with the page. It is very durable and very educational. He never gets tired of reading this book and I would highly suggest having this book in your kid’s collection.

This book is expensive but extremely good quality. An early education of animal tales complete with actual smells.

Usborne are the greatest for beginning reader. Granddaughter started with Usborne phonetic set of books, then read Usborne My First Library set which focuses on reading comprehension. This set of classic stories is next box set of readers and focuses on gaining confidence and stamina, moves into short chapter stories in final books.

Bought these for my 6 and 4 year old and my daughter (6) has devoured them. A lovely selection of classic stories with a varied reading level. I wanted something that my daughter could read independently as we have a lot of more wordy chapter books with quite dense texts that we read together.

These were perfect and my daughter happily reads these to herself Ive wanted them for a while and with lockdown (no libraries or school book) I had the perfect excuse! Great value and a lovely set.

Great books, perfect for my 5 year old son. The first books are the perfect level for him – challenging him just the right amount so he can progress and the higher level books will progress him through eventually to chapter books.

The stories and illustrations are charming.

This is a childrens hard back dinosaur book. It is aimed at younger children who are just becoming aware of the subject. Every page is a pop up of different scenes and dinosaurs in 3D. It is very colourful and the pop ups are well constructed.

This will keep the young child entertained for some time. A lovely book for their collection.

Perfect gift for any 3 year old that’s in to books and dinosaurs. Its so well made I bought the space one too which is just as impressive.

I wanted this book for my grandchildren for Christmas but the delivery was VERY VERY LATE. Also, the book wasn’t cheap yet it is made cheap and much smaller than it appeared online ad.

I always tell my granddaughter “I love you this much” while I’m stretching my arms as far as they will go, so this book taught me a new way to tell her that God also loves her “this much. ” Just wish it had the CD with it.

I read this many times to my pre k and kindergarten students. They loved it. I have given it to parents of newborns many times also. I am so happy it is still available.
