20 Best Usb Mics For Streaming (2023 Updated)

I want to start off by saying that I actually returned this mic for the SM7B and I’ll tell you why. I am venturing into audiobook narration and professional VO. This mic would be great for streamers and podcasters.

Before I tell you why I returned it, let me tell you what I love about this mic. Pros: Amazing sound quality for a microphone at this price point. The USB features are amazing and very easy to use. The build quality is top notch and the compact footprint means it doesn’t overwhelm the desk.

Cons: To me there was only one con, and that is prevalent in the SM7B as well, it’s a quiet microphone. What I mean by this is you have to turn the gain up almost all the way. This isn’t really an issue if you always have the mic close to your face, if you’re a streamer, or getting into podcasting.

This is easily fixed with a Cloudlifter, but this means you have to plug in via XLR. If you plan on using this mic for professional level voice recording, having the gain up that high can present some problems depending on your interface.

This by any means isn’t a dealbreaker, but something to be aware of. Comparison: Okay, the MV7 vs the SM7B. I tested out the MV7 via USB and loved how easy it was to use. I plugged it into my Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 with a Cloudlifter and was extremely impressed.

There are many different comparisons between the MV7 and SM7B, and the differences are negligible. The only difference that you can hear from the SM7B is a SLIGHTLY richer bass and warmth to the voice.

That’s it. If you’re trying to decide between these two mics and price is an issue (you will need to spend a few hundred more dollars to get an interface for the SM7B), or you’re a streamer or podcaster, get the MV7, you won’t be disappointed.

The USB features are fantastic. I chose the SM7B because I already have the extra audio equipment to use an XLR cable with my computer, and for audiobooks the richer bass seemed worth it to me. #sweepstakes.

Our company is still very small, and while we didn’t see a need to purchase the top of the line studio microphone on the market, we chose a more affordable alternative in the MV7. And let me just say we made the right choice.

We produce weekly online workshops and while our audio has never been bad, the MV7 has shown us what we were missing out on. Its a great product for many reasons, but I would say usability is the most profound.

It comes with both a mini-usb and XLR connection, so whether you just want to plug it into your computer for Zoom or hook it up to a studio camera or recording system, the MV7 makes it easy. Although going further, Shure offers a custom app that allows you to dive deep into the settings and manipulate the sound of your microphone from Compression to Filters.

Not to mention that I directly ordered from Shures website which included a great price, great package option, and fast shipping. Overall, we are extremely satisfied with our MV7. As I mentioned before, we never assumed something better quality was needed, but after hearing the first test file from this microphone, I felt like I just went from a Honda Civic to a Mercedes.

I bought this mic as a replacement for a Blue Yeti that I was using. The old mic had some serious USB port issues, and It was becoming too irritating to keep up with, so I decided to go with this one after a bit of research.

The sound is great, I feel like it captures a more natural tone than the Yeti. Live monitoring is great, and the fact that this mic lets you adjust the live monitor mix is fantastic. Makes it very versatile for both listening and recording at the same time.

I use this mic mainly for Teaching online classes, attending online classes, and amateur podcasting. It works for all 3 of those perfectly with absolutely 0 issue with hardware. Plug and play feature makes setup a breeze.

My ONLY (and I mean ONLY) complaint about this mic is the lack of Mute/Gain. The fact that this mic has no gain knob makes it a little irritating to adjust levels, but its easy to work around that. The lack of a mute button just makes me have to adjust the mix knob if I want to listen without a live monitor.

Both of these issues have very easy, very simple workarounds. The complaint is more about convenience than operation, because this mic does everything I need it to. Great build quality, came with a nice little bag.

I’m no expert in microphones so this is a very amateur review! Bought this product for game streaming purposes and so far it has been fantastic (used for a few weeks). My voice sounds crisp and dynamic especially when up close to the grill.

I do have to use audio filters such as noise suppression and noise gates to mute out typing and white background noise but there have been no issues. The mic has weight to it and feels very sturdy, also love that it comes with a 6m cable and pop filter.

Only thing I would say is missing is a gain knob, seeing that most other mics have this, not sure why they didn’t put one on, but this hasn’t been a huge issue as I hardly change the input volume in the settings anyway.

I’ve paired the microphone with the RODE PS1 boom arm so I’m able to place it at an optimal height/level which has been great. I was tossing up between this and AT2020 and have no regrets picking this one up! It’s a great USB mic option with everything you need in one package.

Also kudos to DJ City for shipping the product the next day I ordered even when it said it was back ordered on the site (maybe my timing was just too good?). Nonetheless, I was super impressed with the speed of service.

Looked towards getting this product after I watched a Linus Tech Tips review. I did a sync recording of both the mic and my phone and the quality is vastly different (obviously). But I especially like how there’s significantly less background noise and hum compared to my phone which makes levelling out the audio much easier to do.

The audio from the mic is really smooth and clear and pleasant to listen to. Great quality mic that also looks flashy on my desk, and the pop filter is a great plus too. Also hot tip: check for a coupon in the item window to save more off this item if you want to.

For what it’s made for, which would be picking up every sound possible, it’s good. So if you are a musician and like to record yourself, say playing guitar, it’s very good. If you are a streamer, this is NOT so good.

It will pick up every keyboard click. For streamers or if you want to record only your voice, such as a podcast, get a dynamic microphone. However, the wave link software it gives you, which is a free mixing software that allows you to add voice compression, noise gate etc.

Is very good. If you want to listen to copyright music while streaming but don’t want stream to hear it, you can do that. The only reason for 1 star taken away, is it doesn’t save where I send xbox chat audio to the wave link software; I have to set it every time I open it because I want to be able to record audio with my clips.

The build quality is fantastic, doesn’t feel cheap at all. Also, it’s very VERY easy to mute with even the slightest tap of the top. You can control the volume you hear all together, the gain, and the cross fade all from the mic knob.

This is an incredibly good mic, mostly meant for streaming or even just gaming, though it’s high-end enough that I can’t recommend it if you’re just planning on using it for voice chat. With Discord compression and other voice chat services’ limitations, you’ll be paying for quality that won’t be heard if you get this mic solely for gaming.

For streaming, though, it’s awesome. The Clipguard is especially impressive, and a large reason I went with this mic. It takes the worry out of whether the gain will make your audio clip; all you have to worry about is that your voice sounds good over the mic, and you don’t have to worry about distortion when you get excited or something.

It’s a great feature. Yell all you want! I’ll note that while the cardioid pattern works fine for preventing keyboard and mouse sounds from being picked up, it’s not great at it. You can definitely still hear both my peripherals, and even though I have a clacky keyboard, I still think most people will find the same.

Something unexpected I like about the mic is its stand. It’s heavy and feels quality, and of all the mics I’ve tried, it’s the only stand that came included with the mic that I actually use. I like the capacitative mute button.

I’ve heard the occasional complaint that people trigger it without meaning to, but I haven’t had that problem; I like being able to mute without any click or bump audible before the audio cuts out. I also can’t vouch for the software.

I found it didn’t work for my dual-PC setup, since I pipe my sound from my mic to my gaming PC and then over HDMI to my streaming computer. Be aware that while the Elgato software works for many people’s streaming pipelines, it won’t work for everyone’s.

I use Voicemeeter instead. A lot of people like the Elgato software, though, and I agree that it seems well-designed. I also love that you can use the software to tweak settings, like disabling clipguard or turning off auto-gain control.

I recommend downloading it just for that reason. Another note: I position my mouth around 7 inches from the mic and have found I have no need for a pop filter. The built-in one works just fine for me.

Overall, strongly recommend. It’s a great microphone, with great features. You really get what you pay for.

The Elgato Wave 3 itself has some excellent voice quality and this paired with the background noise condensing and auto level adjusting makes the mic super great to use. Where the mic is disappointing is the Elgato wave software to comes with.

The software has some really good concepts but I personally find it to be super buggy and only works on occasions. The mic is still completely usable without having to fiddle with the additional software.

However, I believe if Elgato is promising a mic and software to go along with it for ease of use they’ve failed a bit in that department. Despite issues with software I would still say the Wave 3 is quite amazing.

Aesthetically, the mic is really pleasing and enables easy to adjust gain and tap to mute function. its a mic that feels really good to use!.

One of the problems of working from home is finding the right audio setup for conference calls. I’ve tried over a dozen headsets as well as built—in microphones in cameras, laptops, and a USB speakerphone, but of them was able to capture my (admittedly deep) voice.

That one is a goofy looking Bluetooth headset that loses clarity whenever the household microwave oven is used. Enter the Snowball iCE. It easily picks up my voice and delivers a natural sound. Using the Snowball as a USB microphone frees me to use whatever headset I want, as I don’t have to worry about audio quality or 2.

4gHz interference. The only downside is that it requires a custom tripod (included), and the legs fold down, not up for easy carrying. The hinges on the tripod feel a bit cheap, but so far I’ve not had any issues with them and a online search shows no long term complaints.

The microphone on the only computer I had with a webcam wasn’t working, and I needed it for a job interview the next day. So there was no time to order anything in. Compared to other options at other local stores, this one had the advantages of being one of the least expensive while looking like my kids probably wouldn’t be able to easily break it, and also wouldn’t require an adapter.

From the pictures online, I imagined the round part was around the size of a golf ball. So at Target I looked on the shelves for something about that size hanging from a hook. Not finding it, I asked for help, and the clerk pulled out this box from inside a locked glass cabinet on the bottom shelf.

The box was almost big enough for a loaf of bread. I was startled at the large size but with no better options I bought it. Opening it at home, I was again surprised at the large size. What I had gone to the store imagining would be about the size of a golf ball was in fact about the size of a grapefruit! But it worked great, and worked on the first try.

I tested it and found that the sound on the recieving end on the other side was very good. I had no problem with it at all. Highly recommended! If you have room for it that is!.

Meh and letdown would be the words to describe this. First of all they need to remove the $20 Ubisoft part of the item description. The codes these contain are all from 2020/2021 and well expired. But we don’t buy microphones for whatever dollar off codes they contain – this was meant to be used in place of a full-on gaming headset – hoping the mic quality would be better than a my laptops mic array, without looking like a knob on conference calls while working from home with a cumbersome gaming headset on.

Mission accomplished? Nope. Well. You at least look normal speaking – the downside here is this mic picks up EVERYTHING. Like. Everything. Typing? Kids? Someone in the house on the other side of the same floor flushing a toilet? Yep, check everything.

To the point co-workers asked how I even got any work done. I can’t have that while working. And being a Blue product, I expected some customization in voice and some sort of background canceling – but the software is limited to showing you your iCE mic and controlling only the gain.

And even then unless I was on top of the thing, it wasn’t picking up my voice very well – but had no problem with everything else leaking through in my house. Disappointing. Back to the store this went.

I could only see low end streamers using this in a sound proof room. Otherwise I’d highly recommend skipping.

I was using a side-address mic and replaced it with this one. I am happy with the richer tone and sound quality which far exceeds what I had before.

The Rode podcaster is a craftsmanship and quality. Its stlyish, and simplisity itself when setting it up. But that doesnt mean the Rode podcaster has placed form before function. The sound quality is excellent.

Although the Rode pod caster is heavy, it isnt designed as as a handheld and is best paired with a Rode boom or desk mount. If you are after a mic and want quality with a 10 year warranty then Rode podcaster is what you are after.

I’ve done my first recording and the sound quality is very good, even with my soft voice. So easy to set up and use too.. especially for beginners like myself.

Sound: While the Blue Yeti may not be THE best sounding USB mic right out of the box, it does have good sound quality. With a little tweaking through a free audio mixer software like Voice Meeter Banana will result in a very professional sounding mic without spending the big bucks.

Stock settings will give you more than sufficient sound quality though. With easy access to the knobs to control the gain and pic up pattern makes for easy adjusting on the fly. Due to the pic up patterns I would only recommend this mic for individual use and not for an interview setting.

Price: Being priced at $130 isn’t terrible, but should probably be closer to the $100. 00 mic segment given it doesn’t have XLR. Personally, I would opt to buy the Blue Yeticaster Broadcast Bundle which includes the mic (no desktop stand), boom arm, and shockmount for $180-$200 vs the stand alone Blue Yeti Mic for reasons below.

Purchasing all three items individually would be in the $280 range Keep in Mind/Cons: I would highly, highly, highly recommend a boom arm for this mic. The desk stand for the mic is not very useful. I found myself slouching over due to having no height adjustment.

Additionally, to get your mouth the appropriate distance from the mic for optimal sound quality (without cranking the gain) means the mic stand is sitting at an awkward spot in relation to your keyboard/mouse.

I also found that with the desk stand no matter how I positioned the mic, set the pickup, gain or gate I could not eliminate picking up desk noise such as keyboard clicks, mouse clicks, or even setting my phone down on the desk due no shock dampening.

Even setting the stand on a towel did not assist much. Mounting the mic to the Blue Boom Arm completely fixed the unwanted sound and positioning issues. If you are going to mount this mic to the Blue Boom Arm I would recommend installing it with the shock mount.

The shock mount isn’t much of an advantage sound quality wise, but definitely helps weight wise with the boom arm. While this mic is heavier than normal it’s not quite heavy enough on it’s on for the Blue Boom Arm.

I found the boom arm wanting to “snap open” on the loosest tension settings due to there not being enough weight at the end of it. Adding the yeti shock mount to the mic and boom arm allowed for the proper weight to adjust the mic to my desired position without any sagging or raising.

In conclusion, I would highly recommend this mic being purchased in the Yesticaster bundle due to the savings vs buying the individual components. While I still can recommend the mic being purchased individually, I believe you’re going to be wanting a boom arm sooner rather than later due to the desk stand offering no dampening or height adjustment.

This microphone has numerous settings to cope with any particular style recording format you might need. There are four patterns to choose from just be mindful of what each one does to maximize the quality of your recording.

Cordial is the one you want (looks like an upside-down heart) as this will record only from a single direction directly in from of the microphone. This really should have included a pop filter but those care quite cheap to get.

You do not need to buy Yeti branded accessories as the threads are universal to most brands. A cheaper alternative for boom arm etc. would be the Elgato line. The best way to use this microphone with cordial setting is the place it within 8 inches of your mouth around 45 degrees off-center from you while keeping the direction of the front of the device facing your mouth.

This will pick up the voice clearly without catching all your “P”s. As this is directional you will want to speak to the side of the microphone NOT on top like stand-up comedians do as it will not pick up your voice.

I’m a newbie to this sort of thing so I had to search through YouTube to find best practices. The instructions should have been a little clearer in the box but are a little cryptic at best. That’s the reason for the 1-star downgrade.

It’s great, don’t worry. A final note: don’t kid yourself, this is bigger than the picture shows; it’s also a little on the heavy side.

The Yeti is a very clear microphone with stellar sound quality. Unfortunately, I purchased this Yeti due to my first Yeti containing faulty hardware. The fault in the hardware resulted in an extremely lous and painful buzzing noise, almost like a flatlining sound, being audible whenever in a voice chat or recording in a music studio software.

Because of this, my Yeti had to retire, but I still loved the Yeti as it did last a decent amount of time: approximately 2 years. I tried to reach out to Blue at the time about the fault in the hardware and receive a repair or a replacement, however, I was not provided with one.

In other words, I had to come out of pocket an additional $150 roughly to purchase this new one, and to be honest, I don’t think it’s worth it. Yes, it is a good microphone, however, I feel there are now many alternatives that would deem a better fit for music production and streaming.

Some of these include the HyperX Solo Cast mic, which is also a fraction of the price with even better sound quality and easier handling. All in all, I suggest you look elsewhere to find a more affordable mic that fits your needs :).

I would love to rate this mic better than 2 stars but I cannot. Based on the build quality it is a 1 star to me. I have taken this mic apart and the components inside are super cheap and super glued down on parts like the usb socket and the earphone socket.

It is obviously because they used such a cheap adapter for each that they likely would fail very quickly if they were not superglued. My usb socket became loose and would constantly cut out and windows would redetect it and my audio would go through a weird reset everytime.

So I took the bottom off and attempted to fix this as I can solder pretty well. It is near impossible to work on this. This mic is meant to be factory made and if it breaks under warranty they likely will send a new one and toss your old one.

Cheap cheap cheap build quality, don’t be fooled by the heavy weight of the mic stand and the mic housing, inside is light and cheap. With that said, it is an ok mic for what it is intended for. It records in decent quality for the price and is somewhat simple to operate once you learn how.

I like the audio mode selections as well as the power meter LED’s on the front. I have just bought another blue yeti x which is arriving today and I am contemplating just sending it back because of the issues I have run into with it.

If you just need a mic for recording youtube videos or streaming on twitch this mic will work fine, just be easy with the usb socket and cord.

This is the perfect mic for both those looking to get started and experienced content creators. It’s very easy to set up and the audio input quality out of the box is exactly what we want from a USB microphone.

This mic is aesthetically pleasing. This is coming from someone who no longer plays WoW but I absolutely love showing off how amazing the mic looks on stream and to my friends. The attention to detail is astonishing.

And if you’re concerned the looks or “theme” would take away from the quality of the mic’s hardware you need not worry. The frame is incredibly stable and even the knobs to adjust volume and to adjust mic angle are both very secure.

Lastly, lets talk about the voice changer which I am sure what most people are looking to research. The voice changer is done within the software “Logitech G Hub”. It’s incredibly easy to test out different voice changing effects within the software to see which ones you may want to use with your content.

You can record a clip of your voice and play it over using any of the voice effects without having to record another clip! This process is the same for any “Equalizer” or “Signal Cleanup” settings making it easy to tune your sound even in a pinch.

There is good reason why this microphone always pops up on lists of the best USB microphones. It plugs and plays well. Most people do not need the advanced features of professional microphones at higher price points.

Make no mistake, however, the Blue Yeti X holds its own among them in terms of sound output. Love the stand with which it came and opted not to purchase a boom arm. I also purchased a foam mic cover to prevent unwanted noise from coming through since I have a ceiling fan in my home office.

If you do, make sure you get one large enough for this model. The Blue Yeti X is a winner and offers a lot of bang for the buck.

The Behringer has an XLR input so I wanted to try that. Did a lot of research on mikes and settled on this one. It was a good choice. I purchased the Kopul Studio Elite 4000 XLR cable along with the mike to make sure I had a quality cable connected to the mike.

It’s a condenser mike so it needs phantom power which the Behringer mixer supplies. The mike’s cardiod pattern suppresses background noise not coming from the front of the mike. Note that you don’t talk into the top of the mike, but rather into the side.

Thus, the mike is optimized for sound coming directly in front of it. So far, I’m very happy with the mike.

It is a flat EQ mic and if I had to say where the weakness lies it might be in the high end, but it might be perfect depending on the range of the vocalist.

I feel any frequency issues could be corrected with EQ in the DAW. Features: Most useful feature is the ease and simple connection via USB. There is also a mini-jack in the mic, so you can plug in headphones and monitor directly from the mic itself.

Meaning, you could hear raw audio as the mic hears it, then via another pair of headphones hear the audio or mix from the DAW. Very handy. Weakest feature is the 16bit convertor. Its good, just 16 bit, not 24.

Ease of Use: Extremely easy mic to set up and begin recording with. Quality: Mic is solid, well crafted. Heavy to the feel, good paint and nice cables. Includes a little stand. Value: This mic is extremely cheap compared to other mics of the same quality.

I think it is the best of its class by far. Manufacturer Support: I haven’t dealt with AudioTechnica before, but there is the good reputation. The Wow Factor: Very appealing to beginners and semi professional musicians.

Could even be a great mic for a professional musician for the road, random spontaneous recording, since it is portable and connects via USB so easily. Overall: After researching for many months, I decided on the AT 2020 USB mic.

This is a high quality mic with excellent range and detail for instrument and vocals. There really is no question that the mic has excellent recording, the only fact you need to be aware of is that this is a 16bit input not a 24bit input.

16bit is ‘just’ enough quality for a semi-pro recording session. I believe in terms of 16bit mics and USB mics this is the best model.

I now use this mic on (almost) a daily basis, apart from my XLR mics, to record my grand piano. 1/48kHz *Premium mic pouch Cons of this mic: *No pop filter or any other goodies apart from the short mic stand *USB mics, so no two way ORTF or any stereo type of recording. You can’t use two USB mics at the same time.

Workaround: Plug each individual mic into different computers, then transfer both audio files into a single computer and sync audio in post *Wished they included an XLR port. Some USB mics have XLR built in as well.

Overall, Audio-Technica does not dissapoint. Another amazing mic from the legendary Japanese audio company.

It’s only the practical issue of size! There is no real indication of size for this mic and I understand why. Yet it’s HUGE, I can’t have it centered in front of me even. It’s the same size as a very large orange, so 10 cm across and on its 20 cm high stand it is a very large black bobb! It also has a very bright red light when it has power and this annoying light at night has no function at all.

As ounce it’s plugged in, it’s always on. So why advertise the fact with such a large bright light? Needless to say, it does have two very important redeeming features; very good sound quality and because of this alone it’s then very cheap.

My son actually sounds exactly as if his in the same room with no distortions. Yet 3 stars is still a very good achievement in my opinion. Recommend this as it can be placed to one side. Yet due to the two problems and the fact that it has no switch 3 star rating.

The microphone picks up sound from a few feet away, so you can talk from your chair and eat and drink without having to worry about adjusting your microphone. And the sound is good both up close and at that distance.

The background noise cancellation (or whatever it’s called) is almost perfect if you’re up close (I haven’t had a reason to test it from normal distance). I’m using Ubuntu 20. 04, and I was able to use the microphone without doing any configuration whatever.

The reason I gave 4 rather than 5 stars, though, is that Alsa picks up the microphone as a mono input when I think the mic actually intends to be stereo. There’s also not, as far as I can tell, any acknowledgement of non Windows, non Mac operating systems on the manufacturer’s website or in the manual.

But PnP working is about par-for-the-course on Ubuntu, so it’s not a huge deal.

not only does this microphone take forever to connect to your computer and hook up with softwares and be so bad that it picks up everything else but your voice, it also is a design failure. the singular port that you can use to hook it up to your computer is at the bottom of the microphone, making it difficult to adjust it easily.

not only this, it has a horrendous cylinder near the end that connects to the microphone, where even if you could adjust it easily, the cylinder will disconnect and damage the port while trying to get it at an optimal angle.

using logitech g hub is also the literal only way to have this mic be anywhere close to being a good microphone, as it has presets to adjust it. but as i said before this microphone is god awful with any software.

it has troubles being picked up by the softwares, and in addition to the damaging the cylinder on their wire causes, it becomes impossible to be picked up by logitech g hub because it constantly loses its connection.

I use this mic to do voice overs for my Youtube videos. It’s way better than the $30 PC mic that I used for online chat for over 10 yrs, despite friends saying the sound quality of my voice for that old mic was good.

You can hear everything in the background with that old mic. I had to perform lots of post processing to clear or minimize the background noise and increase the volume of my voice. I don’t want my viewers to turn up their volume to watch my videos.

When I increase the volume, I end up with more hissing noise – not good. Eliminating the hiss will result in my voice sounding like I was under water. Lots of work! In comes this Yeti. This eliminates a lot of the background noise, my voice is louder, and post processing was quick – saves a lot of time! People need to understand that the mic is in front, not the top if you want it to record only your voice and not the background noise.

I notice some Youtubers do this and it makes them sound like their in a zoom meeting or using those crappy built-in laptop mic. Maybe that is why some people give this mic a bad review because it was misused.

For the minor issues. The software has to be downloaded. It doesn’t come with an installation disc so people who assume that it should work perfectly out of the box will also find it frustrating or dislike it.

It may also take a bit for your PC to sink with the mic to get it to work properly. I’ve had a few times where it keeps blinking yellow/orange because my PC doesn’t recognize it. But after some use, that light doesn’t blink anymore and it works every time I boot up my PC.

With that said, you need to download the software get the bast out of this mic despite the box/label says it works right out of the box! Other minor issue, it does it good job of limiting the high volume of my voice and preventing it from cracking.

It’s good but not great so that means I can still hear cracking noise of my voice when it gets too loud. It sits 8 inches from me and I wasn’t yelling. It’s not really noticeable but if my viewers have excellent/high end headsets/earbuds, they may catch it, but not really an issue worth calling out or effect the quality of the video.

As we have all become dependent on using zooms throughout lockdown, finding a good mic was very important as I have been using my laptop one and often people cannot hear me clearly whilst also ensuring I am sat very close to speak.

The build of this Yei Nano is very robust and the smooth finish instantly shows how good the quality is. The base is well build so issue about it accidently falling over. The compact size is great as it doesn’t take up too much space on the table.

The setup is quite easy (which I am glad about) – The cable is connected via the bottom of the microphone and there is a small hole on the bottom of the stand where the cable runs through so it keeps it nice and tidy.

Sound quality is fantastic – you can hear really clearly and the volume is quite loud with no echoes in the background. The best thing is you do not need to be particularly close to the mic to talk in order for others to hear you.

This is an amazing top of the range mic which I highly recommend. It has made meetings much easier and comfortable to do.

I love this mic! I have been itching to get my hands on a Blue Yeti for a while and finally got one! It is literally everything I wanted and more! I am waiting for my boom arm bundle to get delivered so that I can test out the mic with the pop filter and windscreen.

I am hoping I can get the Blue software to work and hope its on my end and not the mics end. I literally have all of the USB ports being used at this moment so I am pretty sure its on my end but I would love to use the Orc voices that the mic comes with for when I am playing my Orc on WoW.

When it comes to Blue Yeti, it is literally the best of the best in my opinion. If you want quality, you want a Blue Yeti. Just holding it, you can feel that the materials used to Manufacture this is not the cheap materials.

I am continue to be amazed with this and so happy with my purchase and hope that others will buy this item as well! This product is well worth the saving and research because it will not let you down.

The only reason that this fell short by one egg is because I am not able to give my review on the Blue software. Once I get that to work, I am going to come back and edit the review to include that portion.

Other than that, I am extremely happy with this item and know that this mic will last me a looooong while!.

I am a college professor who records my classes “live” to make my presentations and audio content available online for my students. I am currently using my fourth Blue Yeti Microphone. My first one lasted several years with no problems at all, until it suddenly fell silent.

I replaced it with a second one, which lasted only six months. I replaced it with yet another Blue Yeti, and it didn’t even last a month. My current Blue (new) Yeti has lasted a month so far and is going strong.

We will see what the future holds for it. In every case, when the microphone would go down, it was because the computer (both Mac and PC) could not find it. I replaced the USB cable to no avail. But when I replaced the defective mic, the computers found the it without a hitch.

So, I guess it is a hit-or-miss thing. Why did I not buy a different brand microphone you might ask. Well, I was so happy with the first one that I was sure that the bad ones were just a fluke. I guess time will tell!.

Post 2-year review. Does a great job and works well for video prod, voice narration and team meetings/calls. The only fault is that the ring mount is very poor quality and Rode know this. If you do a google search, you can find a number of people saying their NT USB ring mount (that holds the pop filter and mic) snapped/broke and this happened to me also.

I’ve had to order spare part from a bloke on ebay Australia otherwise there is just nothing around or distributors that sell parts for these locally. Rode did refer their NZ warranty repairer but after multiple attempts they either don’t exist, have no physical shop and have no info on their website.

Great mic overall though other than this.

This mic is amazing! I wanted something simple, easy but with great quality (compared to having been using the computer mic), to produce good quality music. This mic exceeded my expectations, and they were reasonably high! So happy with the quality, knobs and buttons are smooth etc.

The pop filter is also a very useful item to have. I am 15, worked during the holidays (to earn the dosh) and have wanted to start recording my music, after doing some research into good quality mics, that are also budget friendly – this came out as one of the best options and I 100% agree!! The set up is unbelievably easy, I plug it straight into GarageBand on an iMac, and it connects and starts straight away! The sound is crisp, and for once I like the sound of my own voice and instruments recorded! The mic also arrived very quickly, and was in great condition! (Thank you DJ City!) Highly recommend!!.
