20 Best Underwater Iphone 6 Case (2023 Updated)

I use this for my cell phone because the ridiculously large phone I have with a protective case won’t fit in my existing Aquapac. I have a Moto G Power 2021 in a Poetic Spartan case. I’ve used Aquapac waterproof cases on the river and do rolls all day long with it tucked inside my PFD and I’ve never had a problem with leaks.

I like that the 658 model doesn’t have as much non transparent material as the smaller phone cases which can block the camera. I think it would be nice if they made all their bags completely transparent.

I’ve used Chums and Seal Line water proof electronics bag and this is my favorite. Aquapac seems more durable than Chums but I don’t think it’s quite as durable as Seal Line but I trust the sealing system of Aquapac more than Seal Line.

I have had this aquapac for about a year now and use it when I am by the lake for those splashes and maybe being caught in the rain on the dock. We have also used it while camping, fishing, and kayaking.

Yesterday, while transferring into my kayaking, I dropped the aquapac with my iPhone in it into the lake off the dock. After 5 minutes of searching the lake bottom, I found it 7 feet down. I took it to land and was pleased to find that my phone took on no water and still works perfectly! Definitely worth the money.

We will be getting a second one for my wife.

Areas of concern: 1. Design 2. Contruction 3. Camera 4. Materials/ Quality Design: the case is Plagued with issues from the start of ownership: 1. FaceID not working due to two useless plastic dots on the clear protective screen that could’ve been removed prior to shipment.

2. Impinged Button access! Extremely difficult to use even with time and age, even with a touch screen of an IPhone to have hindered use of the only buttons is an annoyance. 3. Sound: it’s to be expected the addition from a case would reduce the sound quality if you have owned a lifeproof case prior.

But this I can say it’s not good at all. 4. The fact of 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max were first to introduce MagSafe and now we are provide a case with it for the 13 Pro models is disappointment of opportunity.

Construction: Out the packaging I had issues with FaceID mentioned Above 1. And the seal or gasket moving during installation. An issue I never encountered in previous cases. 2. The existence of dust within the case question its abilities.

I find it quite tedious to retrieve my phone in order of removing dust. Keep in mind, I only perform wireless charging! Why not design a seal that presses against the body and the opening of the charge cable from the case to prevent dust from traveling with in the case once the charging cord port is open? Now for my circumstance dust intrusion is a mystery? Camera: No need to complain as it seems to be prevalent in fellow reviewers, but suggestions: 1.

Dust, as indicated above this is an issue and deal breaker. As dust within compound by collection on the exterior due to spaces and crevices round the lens. A suggestion found on competitors is a smooth camera area on the rear.

Materials: this is the primary source of my grievance!: 1. Heat: we are no stranger to science when plastic is introduced to heat. But an iPhone generation that introduces inductive (wireless) charging and a processor that is as powerful in comparison to computers six years ago.

To not anticipate the device not creating heat from the following action is a failure of product design. The cases reaction to heat is so extreme, it deforms the rear of the case creating a void providing a space between the screen protect an front of the iPhone making it difficult to hear conversations during phone calls! In all fairness I provided this information to customer service which they resent me a replacement case, this well intended gesture provides no recourse for the intended problem.

Competitors have solve this issue by making the rear of sturdier plastics with less reaction to heat.

Wanted a waterproof case for my iPhone and heard good things about this one. Bought it and used it in the pool. Great quality underwater for video and stills! My only reason for giving it a 4 star rating is because the plastic lens cover almost immediately showed scratches and wear on the blue film that covers it.

This makes for pics to be slightly blurry and not as sharp as it should be. Only the lens cover over the camera lenses shows scratches and rubbings, not anywhere else on the case itself which is odd as you would think since it’s slightly recessed from the case that the case would show markings of some sort.

I’ve used an Otterbox for years without this issue being this bad. I’ve read from other users who had the same experience going from Otterbox to Lifeproof. Someone used nail polish remover to get rid of the film which they said cleared it, but I don’t know if doing so affects the case underwater at that point.

I’m guessing it’s similar to scratch coating used on glasses but I’ll probably contact Lifeproof to get a replacement due to the cost paid. I’m going to get an Otterbox again to use when I know I won’t be needing it for underwater shoots.

First off I want to say this case is great. It feels great to hold, looks better than the 12pro models and works exactly as it should. To those complaining about the “dots” on the screen, congrats… that’s a dot matrix.

It gets rid of the “rainbowing” you complained about on older models. The sound is to be expected out of a COMPLETELY SEALED case… it’s a little muffled, but I’ll admit it sounds 10x better than older models of this case did.

Yes… you have to clean grease and oils off the screen to use Face ID every once in a while… but don’t you have to wipe down your screen anyway every now and again due to smudges and finger prints…. I’m very pleased with this model.

Lifeproof got rid of the toggle for the vibrate switch and added a turn dial. I love this. They got rid of the rainbowing effect. I love this. They fixed the issue with the skin sensors in the Face ID module.

I love this. The cameras work as good as being uncovered (unless in certain light that makes haloing). All around, for a case like this I expected some draw backs, but here there aren’t any I wasn’t already expecting in a air tight water sealed case.

Joto is better protection than cases costing up to 10 times as much as this sale priced example. This is genuine with the slight extra room for my iPhone 6s plus with added hard shell. Take photos and browse with bag sealed.

10 dollars, water can’t seep through ( mine anyways, check yours just in case). $10 case that works well in water. No style, no sleek, one model made for all phones, but I’m not complaining since it was so cheap.

All that matters is that the pouch prevent my phone from leaking, and that it does.

Really great case. I have been a loyal Otter Box user for years but, I was not happy with the last one I owned due to poor quality construction and the price keeps going up. I decided to look for a better solution an I found it in CASEBUS.

I have been using a LifeProof case for many years. I carry my phone in the pocket of my bathing suit at the beach. It has been a comfort knowing that it is waterproof and virtually damage proof. I would recommend this case to everyone.

I rated it a four because 4. 5-4. 8 are not available. Two minor issues prevent me from giving it a 5. First: I had to replace my first case. This was as esy as advertised. No hassle and friendly service.

I had the replacement spot quick. My disappointment came when I read a note provided with the replacement that informed me that I could not replace the second case if it failed the test of time as well.

The second case continued to protect my phone until I replaced my phone. This required a new case which I purchased immediatel on line. This brings me to my second minor issue. Second: My new case came in a case that didn’t appear new.

This isn’t an isuue more than a eyebrow raiser. I place my new phone into my case and was again comforted knowing it was protected. I discovered shortly after using the case that the ringer automatically turns off when placing the phone into the case.

This was resolved by carefully and precisely lining up the phone and sliding it in from left to right. Not a major issue since I won’t be opening the case again. It did take a few days and several attempts to figure this out.

A final concern is that the lid that covers the charging portal does not lock as tightly as either of my previous cases. This could be a problem when in the water so I will contact SafeProof today and see what they recommend.

Again, this is an exceptional product that provides peace of mind from damage due to water or dropping.

I’ve had lifeproof cases since they came out over 10 years ago. There was a significant decline in quality when they were acquired by otterbox, but but the fre was still the most protective case on the market (in my opinion).

These cases are great for the first 3 months, but they only last for about 3 months now before they start deteriorating. The cover over the home button comes unattached, the back bubbles out and causes shadows in pictures, the speaker won’t align properly with the hole so no one can hear you, if you can get the cover over the charging port to last more than 6 months, it’s a miracle.

I still have my case from 2012 on my old iPhone that I just use as an iPod now and it’s in better condition than my warranty replacement that I got 4 months ago. The only positive thing is that they haven’t gone up that much in price (if at all).

However, I’d much rather pay more for a product that actually works. At this point, I’m not even going to put in another claim because it’s not worth paying for the shipping.

I bought this a month ago, I’ve only ever use life proof case is the 12 years I’ve had Apple products, the case I had before purchasing this one was a clear hard shell life proof case. I had it for two years and it was no longer usable so I ordered the FRE case because that’s the only super protective case that they carry now for iPhone XR which really upset me because I liked having my clear plastic case so that I could put anything on the inside of it and make it look like my own case, I put Polaroids and stickers in it so it looked really cool.

Now I can’t do it with the FRE. I didn’t want this case but I’m not eligible for a new phone yet so I had to do what I had to do. Definitely not worth the hundred dollars I spent on it. My friends can’t hear me when I’m on the phone with them because the speaker is so muffled from the “ waterproof technology” when I play videos off of my phone it sounds like my phone is underwater.

I have not put my phone in water to test the case, so there would be no water in my speakers. I just wish I could’ve got the case I had before because this one has given me tons of issues. It’s not easy to use.

I don’t like having to open the bottom flap to charge my phone, I didn’t buy this case because I wanted the waterproof technology I bought it because I wanted to make sure I wouldn’t crack my screen, the last case I had didn’t have the jack where the charger port is, or the screen protector over the phone, but I never had an issue with my phone shattering or cracking when I dropped it with my last case.

I just wish they still made the model of case that I used to have because this one sucks. This FRE case was the first one that I ever purchased for my iPhone four and I can continue to buy another one when I got my iPhone 6.

I’ve had this case before and I liked it but this one I have at the moment I do not like at all.

It looks good, It arrived in a few days, I haven’t tried it in the water, as at the moment I have no intention of using it underwater. It has the camera and screen protected, now I will have to know over time whether it works with accidental drops.

A really quality product. Tried for 20 minutes underwater with a paper inside, after finishing the test the paper is completely dry. Recommended 100%.

Looks high-quality case. Buttons cover all the work, and screen response is normal. Needs checking in water, as well as written instructions.

My husband and I have resisted giving up our dependable, indestructible flip phones (yes, really), in part because we watched our two kids go through so many smart phones from their late teens into their early twenties.

Also, I work at a school with special needs children, and use my phone to contact my boss, the office, or other staff as needed — so I need to be able to keep it in my jeans pocket (it needs to be small).

There came a point, however, when we had to switch. Flip phones don’t work in most international locales, you can’t get read a message at all from someone using a smart phone if they throw in an emoji, and phone companies just aren’t supporting flip phone customers any more.

Our daughter convinced us to switch and get Lifeproof cases to give us peace of mind. The cases are so slim-fitting, I can still fit the phone in my pocket (I bought the smallest smart phone I could get), we never have to worry about dropping it or having damp hands while using it (at the gym, near the sink, in the bathroom).

The only issue we had was that it was hard to get my husband’s phone in the case properly. He purchased an iPhone 6Plus. We both tried, and it just wouldn’t close completely with the phone in it. Finally, I mostly assembled the case, slid the phone in, and then snapped it shut.

They REALLY fit TIGHT! Mine, however, went in quickly and easily. Also, we have found that the case does cause a small amount of distortion to your voice, but my kids assure us that we come in “loud and clear” compared to our old flip phones.

We are very happy with the cases. They have made the transition from flip phones to smart phones less stressful, and given us peace of mind.

I used Life Proof Fre cases on my iPhone 5, and I loved the peace of mind I got from knowing I could take my phone out and use it in the rain or snow, and didn’t have to be concerned when it would fall off my lap when I opened the car door, and it hit the pavement.

I dropped my iPhone 5 countless times while in a Lifeproof Fre case, and when I sold it to purchase the 6s Plus, it was still in PRISTINE condition. When I purchased my iPhone 6s Plus, I was frustrated because the Lifeproof Fre cases weren’t yet available.

I opted for an Otterbox Defender. While the Otterbox case was great for protection from drops and damaged screens, it left the camera lens and all the ports exposed to water and dirt, and it added a tremendous amount of heft and bulk to the phone.

I was very happy when the Lifeproof Fre finally became available for the 6s Plus, and was pleased to see the nice color offerings. I love the Fre case on my 6s plus, and am very happy with the size, color and protection it offers.

PROS: Adds very minimal bulk and weight, keeps your already large phone from being a lot larger. Keeps all ports and the camera lens covered and protected. Thumbnail ID still works, and I do not notice any degradation in photo quality with the camera.

CONS: The button to silence the ringer can be difficult to use. Very stiff and hard to move. The screw-in plug that protects the ear bud port is difficult to get in and out, and it’s a little inconvenient to have to use an adapter with your ear buds.

(But this is just a small trade off for getting the waterproof protection I want. ). Unless they’ve changed the materials used in the screen protector from what the iPhone 5 case was made of, the screen protectors do get scratched.

(I HATE scratched screens/screen protectors, and I replaced my Lifeproof iPhone 5 case twice because I had gotten scratches on the screen protectors. ) That’s s costly issue, so this time I got an inexpensive “case friendly” version of the ArmorSuit screen protector and applied it right on top of my Lifeproof Fre Case screen.

A bit obsessive, perhaps, but I won’t be spending another $90 on a case because the screen protector got scratched. Another con is the limited one year warranty. When you spend $90 on a phone case, and you see what looks like about fifty cents worth of plastic, you feel like you should have more than a year warranty for your money.

BOTTOM LINE: Cons aside, it’s a great case and I’m very pleased with it.

Because of vision issues, I have an iPhone 6 Plus which is too large for some people, so it is usually the last one to get any new cases from even the established case makers. I have had Lifeproof cases with all my other iPhones but was discouraged by the bad reviews of the sound quality of the Lifeproof Nuud, though once I saw the new Fre models and that they had several colors, I decided to take a chance.

It is slightly wider that some of the cheaper knock-offs but has an overall feeling of better quality and fit. The built-in screen protector seems to make better contact with the touch screen than most with no “puffiness” to slow reactions.

Biggest improvement over the cheap ones and the old ones: larger hole for the charging port so most off-brand Lightning cables will work with it (though not all). Passed the basic water test but haven’t tried anything more radical.

One small complaint has been the touch sensor in the home button occasionally has trouble reading my thumb. , though I suspect software issues or weird angles when I pick it up. Works 75% of the time still good.

Made phone calls and had no complaints, though I have a tendency to use either my EarPods or Bluetooth for phone calls. Speaker quality is pretty decent for a waterproof case, though I noticed that the sound seems to vibrate through the back so how you sit it down will effect the sound more than if it came out the bottom speaker.

Not a big problem for me. Aesthetically, looks like previous Fre’s other than the back is now the same color as the front (not black like all the other old versions, except for the all black one). So the front is white with a gray trim and all white back.

The blue is blue in front with a dark blue and green (!?) trim and all blue back. The white is very stain resistant and durable. Another small complaint. No holes for a wrist strap which the cheaper ones do have.

I’m not that eager to test out the shockproof capabilities of the case, so I improvised by looping a strap around the screw-on cover for the earphone port. I just have to remember it if I use my EarPods.

Once again Pelican has come through with a great product. After several of my lifeproof cases falling apart, I looked for a new waterproof case. I have used Pelican products for years to transport our equipment overseas and back, they are absolutely the best.

Once i found out Pelican made a waterproof case it was a no brainer. The case is twice as functional as the lifeproof cases. You don’t have an issue with not being able to access the flip up menu that the lifeproof limits your access to the phone.

Also Pelican has a sound channel design that allows for excellent sound quality, unlike the lifeproof which has a faulty design were the home button waterseal becomes unattached, causing massive sound distortion.

The Pelican case allows for full screen display, absolutely genius design. I could not be happier with this product. Pelican straight up rocks. Also I recently bought their S130 case backpack for a rural filming trip to Nicaragua, outstanding product! Thanks Pelican.

I bought this case so I was able to read navigation on my motorcycle in rainy weather. Has never leaked once. It has not let down. My phone has fallen out of the holder at 45mph and the phone hit the pavement and went sliding.

I turned around only to retrieve the phone damaged free. This case is worth every penny. A+.

Well designed and very durable waterproof cell phone case. Perfect for my outings in the mountains as I use my phone as a GPS navigator. Using 2 lanyards tied to the handlebar, it can also be used on a bike.

I was dubious about the size but that big fit just right on my galaxy A40.

It is a good case to protect and use the mobile during water activities. The large size is a bit limited for the most modern mobiles although it can be used with a 5. 2 “mobile. Of course, it fits very just.

It takes up little space, if well used the watertight seal is assured. In addition, the phone is easy to use inside the case.

This particular case had a seal that disintegrated. the rubber just started peeling out of it. I had to order a different case from amazon a couple of months later just to get by. I just now found another lifeproof fre in one of the colors I have been looking for so I ordered off ebay.

I am hoping it was just a bad case and this one will hold up. I should have taken a picture. I did not. When the rubber started to crumble it got messy and I tossed the case. I like lifeproof cases because they are waterproof.

Normally they just would wear out around the charging area. This particular one even lost the rubber coating around the sound on off button. At first I did not realize it and my phone was getting bumped on and off.

One of the questions above was does it give good protection. When in tact it does but because this case crumbled it was worthless.

True story – I dropped my phone off of a ~60 foot cliff with this case on. I watched hopelessly as it fell and landed HARD on the massive boulders below. It took me like 30 minutes to find a way down to my phone, and then to find my phone sitting perched atop a rock, still playing my music, completely unscathed.

The case itself had a few minor scratches, but the phone was completely fine. The case has a slim low-profile which is awesome. My only complaint is it has a tendency to begin falling apart after a while of use (and shortly after falling off of a cliff).

Bought this on sale at my local Sprint store 2 years ago when I bought my iPhone XR. I loved the waterproof design and used it everywhere I went! After about 6 months, I really started feeling some of the negative aspects of the case though.

With the phone having a face recognition to unlock, having the small amount of distance between the phone camera and the case caused some sort of reflection or distortion so that the phone won’t unlock, or, if I’m on the phone, the screen refused to stay up to allow me to change the call type from speaker to Bluetooth, merge the call, or the like.

It frustrated me a lot so I would take the phone out of the case once a week or so to make a call or simply unlock the phone, at which point the sealing rings/gasket came unstuck from the case after opening it up 4-5 times in a month! so, I tried to put the rubber gasket back in and when I closed the case, there would always be a corner that refused to seal completely since the gasket was always flopping around inside the case.

I ended up having to use masking tape wrapped around the gasket to add thickness to the rubber and that held it in place until I was annoyed enough with calls not working correctly that I bought a cheapo case that works better for everyday use, and the life proof case has sat unused in my desk drawer for the last 6 months.

This really is a fantastic product. I bought a very old model for an iPhone6 that has been collecting dust, but they have new models that fit newer phones. The combo of this case and my 6 is now my grab and go snorkeling camera.

The only problem with their system has nothing to do with the case itself. And, I believe it is probably a limitation of the iPhone. It would be *really* nice if you could set the white balance to a static setting instead of have it always be on auto.

I doubt that the app you must use that allows you to take pictures using the volume buttons will ever allow that, but it would make videos much, much better in that the colors would stay consistent when the lighting changes.

That being said, A++ on the case. It will never fully replace a higher-end case and camera that gives you full manual control, but it does exactly what it says it will and is very well made and durable.

This is by FAR the best underwater housing unit for a phone! I take all my pictures with my iPhone and live basically at the beach. I love having my phone protected from the sand, salt and what better is I can take incredible pictures and post them to Instagram immediately.

The best part is being able to use the touch screen with the ProShotCase on. We take it on the boat, in the pool, to the beach, snowboarding. I love the floating grip too!.

I was hesitant to submerge my $1200. 00 phone into the ocean, but I decided that life is worth living and gave it a (Pro) Shot. I tell you, I was amazed at the ease of operation and the quality of the photographs.

My friends cant believe the beautiful pictures I get without having to purchase or lug around $$$$$ worth of underwater camera equipment. VERY IMPORTANT!! DOWNLOAD THEIR APP!!! That is how you will easily operate the functions of the camera.

It took me a few minutes testing it out in the pool to figure this out. That information was clearly written on the instructions, but I am one of those people who only read directions when all else has failed.

Many of the people I ride with have cases from UA and I’d been meaning to purchase one for a number of months, when I finally did I only wish I had purchased it sooner. It’s a solid case and if you were to drop it I’m pretty sure the ground would break.

All the function buttons work effortlessly and you’re able to open the phone with the Convenient hole, (glove off). I also purchased the charging cable and having sat nav running and knowing you’re never going to run out of battery is great.

I’d happily recommend these cases from UA anytime.

I’ve taken this case out kayaking several times so far and it’s done a great job. The combination ziplock/roll/velcro closure feels safe and secure, and the loops at the corners make it easy to clip on to a carabiner.

No troubles using the phone while it’s in the case, the touch screen still works great.

Picked up two of these! One for the SUP, one for my snow gear bag. The one one the SUP has survived multiple underwater submersions and even helped me take some pretty cool underwater pictures! It was only under the water for a few seconds at a time but not a drop of water or condensation made it into the case! I use the other case as a tie down accessory while hiking, snowboarding, and climbing and the tie down point are holding together like a champ! Fun fact, the Samsung Galaxy S9 requires the Large option.

I bought these to make DIY phone cases and they are so good to begin with! Very light weight and the edges don’t scratch. Would still recommend if u want to use it as is. the price is very reasonable too.

I’d bought this case for my dad because he didn’t like the bulkier feel of the other clear case he had. Since he doesn’t drop his phone often, I figured this would be a nice alternative. It’s very thin and extremely easy to put on and take off.

This phone case is so durable! The black classic color design allows me to match this case with everything. It is so easy to press the buttons, the audio is very clear and the charging port works while my phone is in the case.

I was shocked when I received this product. I performed the water test using a paper towel, and when I took the case out of the water after it being submerged for 5 minutes (probably longer than that) and the paper towel was COMPLETELY dry, I KNEW I could trust this product! I have had zero problems with it so far.

The only issue I can find with it is that it is a little difficult to ensure that the seal on the back is complete. You have to go over the phone a couple times to make sure it is. Other than that, there are no issues with this case.

I received this product complimentary in exchange for my honest review. While the case does work as intended, I am not thrilled with the design and materials. I will likely continue using it, but I find myself constantly peeved by the fingerprints on the clear plastic material.

It is also not the easiest to hear my phone’s sounds and rings in comparison to other cases I have used. Also the charger port hole is finicky and some charges will just not fit with this case! I am adjusting to it.

Keeps my phone safe from others touching my phone; saves the phone from the weather; is sturdy; see thru so you know when a number appears on your screen, etc. Very handy with the lanyard so it can be worn around your neck and see if there is communication present on your phone.

Yes, these cases will keep a cell phone or similarly sized object dry. But the cases are too big and clumsy to enable a user to operate a cell phone from inside this case. Good for protection, bad for protection AND operation.

Great idea for keeping your phone safe while playing in the snow or next summer at the lake. Fits any size phone and is ready for your next adventure. I really like mine. Its easy to carry along.

Easy to fit, and fits in a logical position on the stem (avoiding overcrowding the handlebar). Clips on and off easily. A slight fiddle to push the phone into the cover. Very responsive touch screen cover – makes using the phone easy.

The packaging clearly states that it fingerprint recognition is not supported. This means that if your iphone has this, you have to leave it unlocked and on all the time, which in turn means that the battery will drain more quickly.

Not yet tested in heavy rain, but waterproofing seems convincing.

This is a great product, I had been searching for days trying to fine a waterproof case that isn’t overpriced and easy to use but that also looks great and is sturdy when riding. This case ticked all the boxes and at a very reasonable price.

Looks great when mount on the bike and you can use your phone with ease through the plastic case. I have purchased Topeka products before and they have never let me down, very good product and a very reasonable price.

I bought this last week, during a cycling holiday. Great waterproof phone cover with see through front with capacity to use the camera. Robust quality. Only slight downside is, the front can get a little condensation if you take the phone out and replace it without making sure the phone is thoroughly dry.

Not so easy outside if raining. Problem sorted with a little pouch of silica gel!.

Great for a smaller phone, but a bit tight for the larger ones.

This is an amazing case, I have had this case for roughly 4 months now and it still works amazing. It has protected my phone from many drops at various heights, and water. You can shower with this case if you want, your phone will be 100% protected from everyday use.

its rugged, waterproof and I love the look. The only issues I have are that it does squeak a little and the rubber tab on the bottom has started to rip from constant opening and closing. But that is to be expected when I use my phone all day everyday and constantly plugging and unplugging my headphones.

Just put some superglue on where it is starting to rip and it’ll be fine. And it will still be waterproof even if the little tap to pull breaks. It does collect dust and other particles in the plastic tab on the bottom and if you aren’t careful in the case too, but that’s just because it’s a case.

This is an amazing case and it looks better than the life proof cases. My friends here at college love it and it’s a unique case from all the lifeproof cases.

I have used too many waterproof cases, but catalyst has held up great. This case doesn’t stop the sound from passing through at all. Everyone can hear me clearly and I can hear people just fine. Catalyst uses materials that are very tough.
