20 Best Under Sink Water Softener (2023 Updated)

I bought this to replace an aging system I already owned. This made things even simpler for me overall as I already hard the feed line and output lines (to the ice maker and faucet) in place. I highly recommend watching some you tube videos to get yourself prepped.

The included instructions were good, but seeing someone do it step by step was an additional help. Everything went very smoothly and I had no leaks. Take you time and you will have success. This looks to be a well built system and so far (2 weeks since the install) , I’ve had no issues.

I bought this a week ago and installed it the next day. Installation is extremely easy! After everything was up and running, we had excellent water for drinking, coffee etc. Tap water TDS = 6. 02 RO system TDS = 0.

08 so that gives a rejection rate of 98. 67 percent currently (first tank, should get even better). Distilled TDS is 0. 08 also and the bottled water TDS = 0. 06. You can’t get much better than that.

My only suggestion would be to put a drip tray under the filters. I apparently didn’t tighten one of the filters enough and it started to leak today. All was well after I properly tightened it but it could have done some damage if I hadn’t caught it right away.

It now has a drip pan just in case.

I have had this product running for about 6 weeks, so far so good! Water is clean and tastes great, solid material no leaking around, good sized water tank provides whole family usage. On top of that, John from the manufacturer called for after-sale service which let me feel this is a product you can trust and a manufacturer really cares about its reputation.

I rarely write a review but this product really needs to be known by more people!.

One of the joints leaked like there is no tomorrow and water falling on the power supply for the pump was plain scary. I tried to browse how to stop the leakage but had no success so promptly took this back to Home Depot and ordered a new filter.

I had installed this in the basement just like my last filter but in spite of the pump being there, I noticed no difference in water pressure at all.

Gem of a water purifier! 5 stars. Background: Another local vendor has come in to my house and fairly brainwashed me for his 3 stage water filter system which costs $2000, and filter replacement cost of $100/year.

I was just about to sign it, but I am glad I decided not to go that route and I reserched on Amazon and found this iSpring RO system. It’s been 3 months and absolutely no complaints, super silent, and generating 75GPD bottle quality water with PPM of 10 constantly.

3 year OEM replacement filters set will cost $99 in amazon. Installation is not rocket science and I did it by myself with youtube videos in less than 2 hours. I will recommend this to anybody who is looking for a RO water filter system.

-high quality system with excellent installation instructions. -chose a model with the booster pump in order to ensure more efficient operation at the membrane (less waste water). An added benefit is faster filling of the storage tank as well as higher flow at the faucet.

-most reviews state that the pump is “whisper quiet”; it is. Leaving nothing to chance though, I placed high density foam under and behind the unit. See photos. Any possible vibrations from the pump, that would be amplified by the kitchen cabinetry, are now absorbed by the foam.

The sound of the pump running, when tank needs to be periodically filled, is undetectable. – instructions state that if mounting/hanging unit, you should also support the three filter housings from the bottom in order to not have the water weight stress the filter canister threads.

I chose not to hang the unit. I simply placed the unit on my high density foam and it leans back nicely on another piece of foam behind it. – all colour coded interconnecting tubing was left full length so that when changing filters in the future, I can simply slide the unit out on to the kitchen floor with out disconnecting any of the tubing to Feed Water, Drain, Storage Tank and Faucet.

-pump power cord plugs into a receptacle in the basement that is right under the kitchen installation. That was just a bit of luck. -filters need to be replaced regularly in order to protect the heart of the system, the Reverse Osmosis (RO) membrane.

The 2 and 3 year filter replacement packs are similar in that they have enough filters to allow replacement of pre-filters every 6 months. They differ in that they each only have one replacement RO membrane rated for 2-3 years use.

It’s just the two of us, using city water, so we’ll go with the more cost effective 3 year supply of filters, replacing the RO membrane every 3 years. If your water is particularly dirty, you may be wise to buy the 2 year pack and replace your RO membrane every two years.

-believe that an RO system is functioning as designed if it can remove 90% of the Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), from your drinking water. I have a iSpring TDS meter on order, with which to monitor my drinking water and thus the effectiveness of the system.

If TDS levels, measured in PPM, start to increase, I may have to change filters more often. The manual is very helpful in this regard.

We bought this product a couple of months ago. The installation was fairly easy and the instructions were helpful. When we thought there was a problem with the uv light and/or the uv ballast, we started corresponding with iSpring in the USA.

To make a long story short, they were very helpful at troubleshooting and were quick to back their product and sent replacement parts promptly. The kicker is that after numerous attempts to make the UV system work properly, we discovered that we had an electrical fault at the plug we were using and there was nothing wrong with the product to begin with! Since the electrical problem was fixed, the water filtration system works beautifully.

If you’re worried about ordering an online only product like this because you think you won’t have descent warrantee service, don’t be dissolutioned. I’ve never in all me years had a company back their product warrantee with such friendly correspondence and commitment to resolving an issue that wasn’t even their doing.

I’m impressed to say the least. We’ve since offered to reimburse them for their losses caused by our faulty wiring and are waiting for a response. As for the water quality this unit provides, it’s very good.

The water is perfect. It works quietly and efficiently. Thank you.

Yeah. No. This Filtrete Quick Change Standard Under Sink Water Filtration System isn’t gonna work for me. That said, for what this is, just a basic water filter, it’s priced fairly decent. But there are several ‘downsides’ that have left a “bitter taste in my mouth” – figuratively speaking.

Right off the bat, upon reading over the Use & Care Guide, which also includes the installation instructions, I was immediately turned off from even wanting to use this filter. Plus, the rubber tubing is not that big around, and seemed to smell a bit ‘funny.

’ Beyond that, I wasn’t at all confident about how good the water flow would be, or how well the tubing connection would hold up and not leak. Now, the instructions are quite detailed, which is good, even showing drawn diagrams of what to do.

However, one of my main issues is that I’m required to drill holes into the ‘wall’ of my cabinet in order to mount the unit underneath my kitchen sink. This I didn’t know ahead of time. (Definitely read over these instructions before you begin.

) The installation instructions caution you about avoiding any pipes or electric cords, which is common sense, but that only leaves me one side of the cabinet I am able to mount it on. Being clever and inventive, I did manage to secure the unit and test it out.

But I will not be continuing to use this Filtrete Filtration System. Yes, I do notice a slight difference in how the water coming from my kitchen tap tasted, and I’ve no doubt that it does filter out impurities.

Though the water flow did prove to be somewhat less than before. Changing out the actual filter, when the time comes, should be a simple procedure. Overall, I wasn’t impressed, and know that there are other options out there which would better suit my needs.

Our house is on well water and purchasing a whole house filter is expensive sand unnecessary for everyday use. We do have a standard water filter on the water that comes up from the pump, but that is hardly enough to get good tasting water.

On top of that, the pipes in our house are old as well. We’ve decided to take a targeted approach to water filtering by putting water filters in specific faucets that we will either drink water from of brush our teeth.

That is where a simple solution like the Filtrete Water Filtration System makes sense. It is super easy to install with just a few hand tools and a little patience providing you have just a little bit of skill with tools and the space under your sink to install it.

I put this one under my kitchen sink. The directions were very clear. Just make sure you pay close attention. Things like understanding the water in and out ports and making sure you push the blue tubing in firmly are key to a successful installation.

Once installed, the instructions recommend that you flush about 10 gallons of water through the filter before use. After doing that, I tested my first glass of drinking water and I was impressed. The mineral and water softener taste that was so noticeable before was virtually gone.

It makes it so much easier to fill large bottles of drinking water rather than waiting for the water dispenser on our refrigerator. This is such an easy and inexpensive solution that we have decided to put one on each one of our sinks.

We love the fact that each filter lasts 6 months as well.

The installation of this Filtrete is lacking User Acceptance Testing. 1) If you drill a 3/16″ pilot hole, the SCREWS DON’T FIT. The hole is as big as the threads, meaning they get *no* grip. And off you go to drill more holes.

Additionally, they don’t hold in drywall *at all* – the back wall under my sink is drywall and it ripped right out; I had to drill into the side cabinetry instead. 2) If you take the filter off without first shutting off water supply *and draining cold water from faucet* you get baptized.

Sprays everywhere. With a new filter, this means that black stuff also sprays everywhere. 3) Says after proper install there will be no gap between filter and mount – no matter how hard I tried I had about a 1/8″ gap; and it doesn’t leak.

4) Collet release is near impossible without 3 hands and a tool to grip it. I had to use my mouth to pull on the blue tubing while I pushed down on the collet with an adjustable wrench with both hands.

As far as performance, we currently use a filter system that provides us with a Total Dissolvable Solids (TDS) meter. This meter reads 000 after going through our current filter system. Hot water out of the faucet – bypasses the Filtrete – reads 31 TDS which is fairly good (some areas of the country see >300).

Yet cold water – which goes through the Filtrete now – is still 31. I don’t know what this Filtrete is doing, but it’s not removing anything from the water. It may be true that this removes chlorine smells/tastes, but it must be doing so by adding other things to the water which gets rid of these; as it’s not a net loss of particles.

Water filters make perfect sense. Easy to install, efficient, money-saving under-sink, Frizzlife water filters? Brilliant! No more buying water in plastic bottles that contribute to Earth-destructive pollution? Brilliant! Clean, contaminant-free water from the tap? Brilliant! The convenience, safety and security of knowing that every drop of water coming into my home is filtered? Priceless.

I bought this through Lowes in Dec 2017 and it was installed in Jan 2018. At first it was great – worked as advertised and I would have given it a 5 star rating. I bought the required cleaner product at Lowes and followed the schedule as required.

I get all receipts and also logged the purchased on Lowes dot com. I met the warranty obligations. We live in a home with three full bathrooms but onloy 2 commodes are used regularly, the 3rd is a guest bathroom.

In commodes in the master bathrooms and in the lower level entertainment area the commodes re used on a regular basis. We started noticing a very fine dark substance on the bowl surfaces. When I opened one tanck, I found a very dark substance at the bottom of each tank.

I could take my finger and “write” in the film. I thought “where is this coming from?” I have whole house filter. I checked with the water district and they could not explain. Other neighbors did not have this problem.

Finally it dawned on me the charcoal particulate in the WHESFC Pro was the problem! I contacted Lowes/Morton/ecowater and they asked for proof that I had purchased and used the cleaner and I shared all the dated receipts, and they honored the warranty.

IT took several months to get someone in to swap out with a new one, and I was very pleased. I’ve have the new one less that a year and now have the same problem again. I am done with this prodict. I liked the concept but there is no intervention that the homeowner can do when this happens.

It is great as a softener, uses salt economically. The literature says either Sodium Chloride or Potassium Chloride. I had switched to Pottasium Chloride and programmed according to directions. When the installer came he said homeowners should not use pottassium chloride, but he would not say that the use of pottassium chloride would cause the problem.

This causes extra work for me to clean the tankes and for my wife when she cleans the toilt bowls. Terrible product. I have photos and may add them but I wanted to post my rating today.

The order process was easy and the softener was delivered in 8 days. I was concerned to see it lying flat in the FedX truck despite large letters on the box saying “do not lay flat”. But it was packed well, with plenty of padding, and my inspection found no indication of damage.

The Whirlpool WHESFC Pro is a perfect replacement for our Kenmore UltraSoft 400 which was installed by professional plumbers over a decade ago. I have zero experience with plumbing and do not have the skills to cut pipe or solder connections.

But the connections on the Whirlpool EXACTLY match those on the Kenmore. I unclipped the old machine and slid it out of the way. Replaced the O-rings with new ones provided, snapped on the new bypass valve, slid the new machine into place and attached it to the bypass valve with another set of O-rings provided.

I reused the old drain hoses using the new clamps provided and the entire install was complete in less than 20 minutes which included adding salt. The control panel was intuitive and easy to understand.

My only email to customer service was answered in just 62 minutes and to my satisfaction. I’ve tested our water and know it’s working as expected. It’s only been one week so I can’t speak to it’s longevity but as of now, I am 100% happy with this purchase – both the device and the retailer EcoPure.

We purchased this water softener for our home. My husband (very handy) did all the plumbing, hooked up the softener and went to test the lines. Barely any water was coming from our kitchen and bathroom faucet, but water was coming out of our tub faucet.

When we looked at the tub there were thousands of tiny beads running out with the water. We looked it up online and it says that there is likely a tear in the membrane. This manufacturing defect managed to clog all of our plumbing outputs and caused a lot of headache and time to go around and fix everything.

We had to buy new parts for our toilet and a new kitchen faucet because they were beyond repair. When we called the store they said they had 2 in store, but they were returns (what does that tell you).

We also had to purchase an additional clip for the fitting to go on the softener (out another $50). We are very disappointed as we thought whirlpool would have been a reputable brand to purchase. I do not recommend purchasing this product unless you want to spend countless hours cleaning up after their mess!.

I’m not on city water but instead am on a well so a good filtration system is a must. This unit pleasantly surprised me with ease of installation, use, low sound level, low waste water flushes, and quality of filtered water.

There are a few things that most people, including myself didn’t know about installing one of these systems previously. 1. Prefilter – If you’re on a well like I am, you should add a decent prefilter before this unit to trap the larger particles to prevent clogging up the filter early.

2. UV light treatment – Should be considered to kill any bacteria or viruses present in the water. I think this is a necessity even if on city water. 3. Remineralization cartridge – Needed because reverse osmosis systems take out pretty much 100% of the minerals in the water, leaving you water without any of the minerals you need.

This process also leaves the water acidic as a result. A remineralization cartridge restores an alkaline property to the water and restores the taste. The best way I can describe the taste of acidic water is “sterile”.

These items above added about $200 to the initial installation cost as a DIYer, with the UV treatment being the most expensive at about $130. Filtered water tastes very good and the savings adds up quickly.

In my household of two with pets we were going through 2-3 gallons of bottled water a day which used to cost about $0. 70 a gallon, after Covid inflation we were seeing about $1. 20 a gallon for bottled water, along with hassle of hauling water bottles and jugs into the house.

This unit will pay for itself in less than a year and even the somewhat expensive yearly replacement filter cartridge at $100 and remineralization filter at $30 will pay for themselves quickly if you’re currently buying bottled.

I wanted a tank-less RO water filtration system because I don’t have enough room for a tank. This device is small enough for my need! Its filter is also a 5-stage all-in-one filter that is easy to change.

Installation is super easy. Only thing to remind you is that it requires electricity to work. The outlet I used was for garbage disposer which will shut off when I switch it off. I ended up pulling a power cable over.

The best of all, customer service is super quick. I reached out to them over walmart. com “reach out to seller” link. I sent the message at night; the support resolved my concern in the very morning next day! To walmart.

com, the “reach out to seller” link under the order details is not working. The API call it uses missed the “Reason” field. I had to use the generic “reach out to seller” link under product list and append my order number in it.

Please fix it, Walmart.

So far we are pleased with the operation of the system. The system is quiet and delivers water at an acceptable flow rate on our well system with a supply pressure of 30-50 psig. The only issue was with the outlet fitting on the supplied water supply tap.

The outlet fitting is not a compression connection and therefore the mating line to the water faucet did not seal properly plus the compression nut did not engage many threads. The adapter should have a compression connection; instead the mating surface is flat.

I used a Dremel tool to grind out the ID material to make a compression type mating surface. This fix worked great, so no further issues.

I installed this system about a month ago. I had a plumber do the pre-plumbing and I did the rest. The installation instructions were very clear. The only issue I had is that the connections to the pre-filter, which are metal into plastic, leaked when I used teflon tape, even after redoing them.

I called support and they suggested using pipe dope that works with metal and PVC and that worked. I also added a mount to strap down the tank, a necessity here in earthquake prone California. (Amazon carries them.

) I waited a month before writing this review. Although the change in the water hardness isn’t measurable using standard test strips, it is definitely noticeable in use. Soap rinses more quickly in the shower and in washing dishes.

There is little or no spotting on glassware and dishes run through the dishwasher, in sinks throughout the house, and on shower walls and glass. And the water just feels better. We live in Santa Rosa, CA, where the city water is relatively hard.

We moved here two years ago from Oakland, where the water is pristine. I was loathe to get a traditional water softening system because of the environmental impact of using so much salt, plus these systems are complex, expensive, and require ongoing maintenance.

My research led me to the TAC-based process, and to FutureSoft based on third party reviews. I’m very happy with the product and the service and highly recommend it.

Sadly, the product does not work as advertised. I spent over a month researching the highest quality systems and this one seemed to fit the bill. It’s one of the most expensive salt-free systems on the market, so I was hoping it would do the job at reducing scale and build-up.

I had a plumber professionally install the system and closely followed the directions. It without a doubt doesn’t reduce any water pressure which was great! The water out of my tap didn’t taste any different from my fridge (not tied to the system) which was my first concern.

The second and main concern is that it does absolutely nothing to reduce scale and build up. I cleaned all our fixtures to see if the scale and build up would occur. At first it didn’t but it eventually appeared again and was not easy to clean off as described.

It still stuck to the fixtures, including our toilets. I just can’t recommend this product without seeing any positive results. I understand it’s a conditioner and not a soft-water system but you’d expect at least some benefits and visible results.

Super bummed as I was hoping to avoid a salt system but our plumber said he’s never had any positive results from them.

I chose this system because the tank is a little more than a gallon and the compact setup of the filters. I set it up in my basement and got a couple extra fittings to have both a faucet and connect to the ice maker in my fridge.

I connected into a waterline with a T-fitting and used a T-fitting to split the water supply between the faucet and the fridge. Also purchased an extra shut-off valves to isolate the fridge. Clean cold water and ice.

We received the product, but the instructions are horrible to assemble the tanks. Typically there would be a diagram and or instructions as to how to fit each piece of pipe together, but there was nothing.

Had to go to the hardware store to purchase fittings and hopefully it will work. Not sure if we need the charcoal for the filter or if it is in it to start off with.

Only four stars due to shipping, need to improve packaging, chrome covers for filters are dented in several places and come crooked on bases which you can somewhat level if you take them off and replace them on tanks.

I have yet to completely install units so not able to see results yet. Overall appearance not impressive but ok and hopefully it will make improvements to my water. The system comes very basic and you will need extensive parts to complete job, so keep in mind of location in regards to incoming water line.

Great product. It would have been nice if the company comes up with easy to assemble kits. Also the tanks by designed cannot be kept in same line. They need to come up with a byepass valve assembly that should facilitate the linear arrangment of the tanks.

This is just a minor feedback.

Ours was 10 years old in January ’13. The tank is guaranteed for 10 years, so ours worked just passed the warranty June ’13. We heard a loud noise like something burst in the basement and the softener was overflowing.

We thought our pipes were vibrating for about 2 weeks but it must have been the softener about to blow. We had been happy with it up until it flooded the laundry room. The tank is leaking at the seam.

Nothing last forever, so since we have such a small area, we will probably replace it with another one. We are just glad we were home when it happened. We will always turn the by pass on from now on when we go on vacation, that would have been a disaster.

This is long. Read or skim through it for some sage advice. Went in big financially, on this system (couple grand). We chose the salt free water conditioner, UV water purification option, and the whole house filtration system.

Plus also opted for the pre filter and post filter replacement program where they ship you filters in time to meet manufacturers replacement schedule. 1st issue, if you live in the 95125 zip code and surrounding San Jose, CA area, this system will NOT significantly reduce hard water deposits on your appliances and fixtures.

example: I have the Costco glass electric hot water kettle which I coincidentally bought brand new when we installed the Aquasana whole house system. The kettle has continually required once a week cleaning with vinegar to remove calcified hard deposits across the bottom of the kettle (heating element), and I can visibly see the deposits floating in the kettle water, after water is boiled/heated.

My system is less than two years old, I noticed the hard water build up in the glass kettle within the first two weeks of using the system. Talk about a blow to the ego. “Yes, I just wasted thousands of dollars on a system that doesn’t work”.

In my opinion, you are better off calling around to local plumbers and getting recommendations for water softeners known to work in your region. 2nd issue with the system is that I noticed a gradual reduction is household water pressure, especially when more than one water source is utilized.

Or, when toilets are flushed and then you go to use the sink to wash your hands; you get a very noticeable drop in water volume from the sink fixture. I initially dismissed it out of hubris, but it is undeniable now and can’t be ignored.

What is causing the calcium and the gradual water pressure drop? Apparently, in the case of mineral deposits, the salt-free system/product technology has the capability to reduce the size of the mineral deposits so that they cannot bond to one another and it flows through the pipes in microscopic form, but when you reheat the water like, say in a 50-gallon water heater, tankless water heater, dishwasher, or electric water kettle (insert your own appliance here) the deposits reform and can become hard deposits.

(exactly what was the point in selling me this product when I stated to the sales guy that one of my specific goals was to prevent reduced product life caused by hard water deposit damage to my high-dollar appliances?) I don’t have the energy to discuss the water pressure issue with customer support to find out that “this is normal operation”, as I was told the calcium build up is.

So, the big question. What prompted me to buy this product? What tipped the scale in their favor? well, not having my own personal experience with this or any softner/filtration system, I went with Aquasana because I noticed that a prominent home builder in our area installed the same system I bought in some teardown/rebuilds in my neighborhood.

Then I talked to one of the home owners, and he said he was pretty happy with it (found out later –too late, later– that his wife is NOT happy with it. ), after talking to him I called and spoke with the company’s sales advisors and explained my goals: reduce calcium deposits and eliminate metals and chlorine from my drinking and bathing water.

The sales dept was upfront about the fact that this system (or any system for that matter), cannot guarantee 0% hard water, but they did promise to deliver a significant reduction in minerals from the municipality provided water to my household faucets, and removal of metals and chlorine after Aquasana treatment.

I have no clue what that math turned out to be, and it doesn’t matter since the proof of hard water is visible in the water. Bottom line, don’t make the same mistake I did. The next system I will install comes with high recommendations from plumbers and customers who live in the region where I live.

Do your due diligence and don’t just go with what the contractors are putting in. Often times, they are motivated more by keeping their costs low than by system performance. Ask to talk to the local plumber’s resident expert on home water treatment systems.

If the plumber you contact doesn’t have a resident expert, call the next plumber on your list. Hope this is helpful for folks living in my region to make an informed decision.

When purchasing a system Aquasana needs to do a better job of explaining how water conditioners work (versus water softeners). We live in Clearwater, FL, which is an extremely hard water area. We purchased a water conditioner in April 2021.

Within weeks there was noticeable scaling and mineral build-up on all surfaces. Water spotting on glasses and dishware as well as the shower glass doors. Sinks, tubs, and toilets were showing signs of scaling and extreme water spotting.

We contacted customer service and the representative advised us that we needed to use special cleaners designed to remove this type of build-up, which we did. Ultimately having a water conditioner ended up costing us much more in time, cleaning product, and unsightly appearance.

In short, it was a pain having to deal with the result of conditioned water. The problem got much worse and after 6 months we removed this system and went back to a water softening system. I contacted Aquasana and told them of my experience, they apologized but said I had gone past the 90 return period there was nothing they could do.

Technically Aquasana is correct, but it’s not right. I’m posting this to issue a warning. While their system may condition water, what comes out leaves all surfaces stained with water spots and scale build-up.

If you live in an area of extremely hard water, I recommend avoiding the Aquasana Water conditioner, because it doesn’t work. And to Aquasana – while you are technically correct in not offering any financial refund for a system that leaves unsightly residue surfaces without extra cost and effort, you now have an extremely dissatisfied customer, and I’ll continue to post this is any relevant review site.

I had to order a dual system because, per Aquasana, our home was too big for a single well-water system and the pressure would be reduced too far. Whatever, I was excited to have super-water. When it arrived, we had our plumber on standby – which is difficult due to everyone being crazy busy.

Unfortunately, the order was wrong and we were missing parts for the dual install and Aquasana added parts that I didn’t want/need. Then they charged me more to ship the missing parts. So, now I’m annoyed.

Of course, the plumber can’t get back for weeks. Once finally installed, I was excited all over again – however – there was zero discernible change in our water quality. It still tastes like “tap water” so we’re still using a Brita filter and there is absolutely no difference in the shower experience.

No softer hair and skin or less water spots on the chrome. It’s 100% the same – with less water pressure. I have no idea if there are less cysts, bacteria or “heavy metals” that Aquasana claims to remove – but the real-world experience has actually been a negative impact on our home’s water due to the reduced flow at the taps.

Other than looking cool in the basement, I would absolutely not recommend this system and will likely be changing it out once these filters are done. Wife = not happy.

Hard water scaling removal was a common chore. Chemicals wouldn’t do the job. It had to be physically scraped from my shower walls. I tried the Scale Blaster for two years. Hard water scaling was still present but greatly reduced.

I would guess it removed well over 50% of the hard water scaling before the unit (actually just the plug) failed. I believe for the technology involved the unit should cost $30. 00. I would pay $50. 00, anyway.

Selling it for $150. 00 to $200. 00 is wholly unreasonable. If a person was not concerned with the unfairness of overpricing, I would recommend this unit.

I have been using “Scale Blaster” in my home since 2008. I am in a very high hard water area. It took about three months to clear the “sticky” calcium out of my water heater. Thirty days after I installed the Scale Blaster, I flushed out my water heater.

There were a goodly number of little white balls of calcium coming out of the Water Heater. they are soft. After three months of flushing the water heater there were almost no little balls of calcium.

After about six months, the calcium buildup on my shower head was gone. This is a great product.

The Scale Blaster is an exceptionally good product — within the context of doing what it is designed to do as contrasted with expecting it to do something else. The Scale Blaster diminishes the ability of dissolved minerals from attaching themselves to pipes, faucets, etc.

The Scale Blaster does not eliminate dissolved minerals. Also, a Scale Blaster will not purify well water if bio-hazards are present. In my particular case, I use a reverse osmosis system for cold water in the kitchen and bathrooms.

That removes dissolved minerals which give drinking water a foul taste and odor. The Scale Blaster is used to deal with the mineral accumulation problem. I decided against a water softener because of cost; also I don’t want increased levels of salt in drinking water.

The Scale Blaster & filter combination meets my requirements well. Your expectations may be different. Doing your research is well worth your time. I did and am glad I did so.

Very easy system for most folks to install. But my undersink plumbing was 40 years old, and I knew I needed an adapter for my 1/4 line to the faucet. So I got some pipe plumbing parts (NPT thread), not realizing that my connectors had a finer thread and would not connect! I live an hour from town, and only go once a week, so I was bummed.

I have a lot of spare and used material on hand, so I spent hours trying to rig up a way to plumb this in. Should have been very simple, but it was not! I finally rigged up a workable system, and then found that the water flow was so restricted by the filter’s high level of filtration that it took a full minute to fill a glass of water! I had read ‘cautions’ on other products that they would not work well with gravity-flow water, but I thought my spring on the hillside gave us plenty of pressure.

Looks like I was wrong! But this faucet is only for the purpose of purifying my wife’s drinking water, so it will work. just not as efficiently as I had hoped! I would suggest that Culligan emphasize that their Stage 3 filter may not work well for rural gravity-fed systems such as mine.

Otherwise, the product was as advertised, and would recommend it for those with sufficient pressure and more updated plumbing!.

Works! Gets rid of the bad chlorine taste from the city water. Somewhat easy to install. Especially if you all ready have a hole for the spigot. I used the sprayer hole but now miss using the sprayer.

A filter change does not require any tools and is easy to replace. Happy overall with this item.

Installed this unit in my fifth wheel two years ago when we started full timing easy to install and replace filter. Used to haul around cases and five gallon bottles of purified water. No more. Only water I drink now is from this faucet.

I will wait a couple seconds longer to get fresh, safe water and cut down on plastic use and waste.

After receiving notification from our water company that higher levels of PFAS were detected in our water, I embarked on a search to find a water filtration system to protect our family. Our water company is building a new facility with a new filtration system, but it won’t be operational for a couple of years.

After researching online and checking reviews by both consumers and Consumer Reports, I decided to purchase this system. It was easy to install, fit easily under my sink, and after a quick adjustment to the water feed to tighten, was leak free.

Initially my sink water stopped working, we discovered that sediment had built up in my regular faucet aerator which needed to be cleared (having nothing to do with this system. ) Once that was done, the water flowed perfectly and we were in business.

My only suggestion for BBB is to include all of the specifications for this system in the product description. It does filter out 2 of the most common PFAS (PFOS and PFOA). Also, the system comes with a shiny chrome faucet, which does not match my other kitchen faucet.

I discovered that Brondell does offer one other style of faucet, and also three different finishes (chrome, brushed nickel and antique bronze. ) When I contacted them to inquire if I could trade in my (still uninstalled)chrome for the brushed nickel, they said no, but offered me a 60% discount on purchasing the brushed nickel, which I did.

It looks beautiful and was well worth the added expense.

carrying heavy bottles of water in and out of the house started to take it’s toll on my back, so I needed an affordable under the sink solution. I installed this system myself and it was fairly easy but I know nothing about plumbing, yet the Youtube videos helped a lot.

I installed it in May of 2021 and got the red light warning as soon as April. We live in Central Texas in an area known for its hard water. Still, I was amazed that the filter lasted until Brondell Company got the replacement filters in after having them stuck at port like most things these days.

The red light was just a warning but the entire time we waited for new filters, the current ones kept doing their job well. You can smell the chlorine in our water so I know the are working becaus the water still tastes and smells good.

I just placed an order for my replacement filters and the videos on removing and installing them look easy, so I’m not worried. What I like about these filters is that it keeps the minerals in the water withjo9ut leaching them out.

Most of all, this system is sleek, attractive, and fits under my small cabinet space. Best of all, it was the most affordable and the filters definitely last 1 year, if not a bit more! Thank you!.

This filter system has been great. Easy installation, excellent flow rate. I ordered the optional (separate) brushed nickel faucet to match my main faucet and it’s nice also. I do wish that was an option instead of discarding the chrome one it came with and ordering that one separately but it all works well.

A very good filtration system so that was the main reason I chose it. The added expense and waste of the default faucet gets a one star ding.

For the first few years, I was very pleased with the Water Boss that I installed in my home. It worked great & did a fine job. Just after the warranty expired the piston got “stuck” in the recharge mode.

Since it is installed in our vacation home I did not realize that the unit was malfunctioning, and for about a month, it continued to run non-stop, discharging water full force straight down the drain.

Instead of my water bill being $50, it was $1500. I contacted Water Boss to discuss my plight, and I was ignored. The mechanism was not reliable to prevent “sticking”, and simple minerals in the water is enough to eventually cause the piston to stick.

My misfortune was that it stuck in the open position, ultimately costing me over $1000 in water and sewage bills. This company has no business being in business. The least they could do is to take responsibility for the garbage equipment they produce.

I got the G2 tankless water filter. Excellent water filter. The ppm reading for my tap water was around 438. After installing the filter it reads 50-60 ppm and the water tastes great. It was easy to install and does not alot of space under the sink.

They also have excellent customer service. I had some concerns after I received the filter. They were resolved in a swift manner to my satisfaction. Still have to see whether the filters last for the lifetime advertised on them.

But no major concerns so far.

Many modifications are required which may call for sawing your copper pipes and welding in order to fit their “feed water adapter,” which I was told MUST be used. Their assistance with installation was horrible.

It was indiscernible if the woman was talking out loud to herself, which she did consistently, or if she was speaking to me! I was always ignored, I would be explaining a problem or asking for clarity then silence.

then she returns talking about a totally unrelated subject. I had to keep saying her name and then ask if she was listening! Finally, she said she was going for her break and would call me back with some answers as regards my install.

I waited and eventually got an email saying I should just return it because there were so many modifications. Now if I keep the Waterdrop G3 and hire a plumber and an electrician to make the modifications I am concerned about future problems that may arise.

Will I get dismissive emails saying I should return it? One of the highlights of this machine was their advertised help with installation and problem-solving. Now, I am reconsidering my rationale for buying this and if customers’ concerns are easily dealt with by sending an email suggesting I return it.

It’s frustrating. I already removed my old GE reverse osmosis and looked forward to this new one. I am so disappointed.

Early days yet, but a very easy (self) installation. I can’t give exact time taken as I also replaced the sink faucet and waste water (a complete cleanout). I measured the unit vs cupboard space before buying but I was still amazed at the size of the unit (this one had the three filter front).

The dimensions are as described but. The unit functions as stated and the water tastes great. It’s a stunning piece of equipment and all my friends ask to look at it. It really is a great improvement on the regular type of RO unit, with all those filters showing and tubes laying everywhere.

I wish they had included a “T” for connecting to a refrigerator, and I also wish they made the sink-top water dispenser in bronze or black, but I still give this a full 5 stars. I’ll probably be staying healthier because I now have a reminder of when to replace filters, rather than going just by water taste!.

It took me a while to do the study about how to choose a good water softener and understand the chain of water treatment process from filter to softener to RO. My old Kenmore model was left by previous homeowner without proper functionality for many years.

During my search for a good water softener, I met different recommendations in different shoping places turning out to be either very cheap or extremely expensive ($3000 to 6000 including instalation fee etc.

). In the end, I chose GE GXMH3101 based on its unique features including water softener and filter in One, blending adjusting knob (this is especially attractive to me because it can let you decide what hardness you want you water to be treated.

) as well as its white color perfectly fit for any house hold for aethetics. Another most important feature which is really helpful for me is that this model has 100% adaptability to my old version of Kenmore.

I installed myself easily to just replace the old kenmore and connect the new GE model without any problems. All the bypass valve, installation adaptors, dementions are the same as the parts of Kenmore (I guess maybe this is the best strategy by GE as a marketing to REPLACE Kenmore populoar years ago! What a smart strategy!).

Our family can feel almost immediate experience in shower. The water is very slippery contrast to my previous very sticky feelings. My hair is easy to comb and slippery. From self-installment to customer experience, I feel very good so far.

One thing I just want to point out that GE should have a clear description of how much salt be stored in the salt tank for beginners. It only says at least a quarter of the salt tank be filled but we do not know how much should be the best level for the first time.

Should I store 230 lbs in full or should I put half of 230 capacity? I felt confused when I first put salt in the tank. The other thing was that when I received the model from Amazon, the resin bed tank was displaced from the normal position.

The bottom of the resin bed tank is inclined to the corner of the salt tank. It took me a lot of time and labor to make the resin bed tank back to its normal position. Luckily enough, the device operated normaly so far.

I was concerned that the displacement of the resin bed tank could have caused damage to the tank neck and may have caused leakage. (GE customer service, please add on a description about what is normal position of the resin bed tank and whether the neck was installed already or not.

) In general, this is a great family product for water softening.

I’ve just had this water softener and filter installed a few days, but I love it already. The compact size is so much better than previous softeners I’ve had before. My previous home had one that (only 3 1/2 years old) was a large round tank separate from the cylinder that softened.

I started with 2 bags of salt, thinking it would only that amount. There is plenty of room to add more. I’ll be off to the store today to get more bags. I like that it tells you how long the salt will last.

MUCH easier to program than the last one I had. This one also costs less than many others on the market. My plumber charged me less than he quoted when he was done because he said it was easier than he thought it would be and took less time than anticipated.

After a couple years of renting the house we live in, we decided to buy it. Just before we bought it, the dishwasher went out due to the insanely hard water in San Antonio. Shortly thereafter, the hot water heater went out – same issue.

Thankfully the owners of the house (good friends of mine) agreed to help me replace the appliances, but the second time they asked me to price a water softener so they could help purchase that, too. I opted to pay $300 extra for the integrated water filtration system instead of purchasing a reverse-osmosis system separately.

I’m so glad I did. The plumber didn’t tell me how to work the thing, (at least I’d had salt ready!) so I just thought “set it and forget it,” but after noticing the dishes were still cloudy from the hard water, I investigated.

I hadn’t “charged” it yet. I did so, and the salt level started steadily going down over the next few days, as I started seeing my glasses were absolutely clear, and squeaky clean!! I’ve never seen anything like it! not to mention, soft hair and skin, and great tasting water!! I will make this appliance a life-time “must-have!” Thanks GE! P.

I did install this exactly a week ago so I have no long term usage on it. BUT, I DID the install myself; hip hip hooray! I reviewed the manual online before purchasing and watched a couple videos. Very straight forward.

I had sent a water sample from our private well water to a lab and had it tested; Hardness: 12 GPG, Iron:5, pH: 7. 09; I did add a 4. 5″ whole house filter before this unit to filter out sediment and better protect the unit from rust/sand/debris; Anyhow, water now tastes great and I’m assuming there won’t be anymore reddish brown stains in sink/bowls and tub.

This softener did the trick. At this time I’m extremely satisfied with this purchase and the impact it’s had. Amazing and we went 8 years without a softener. I didn’t give it a five star rating as I don’t have long term data.

but at this point in time, it’s a five star! Hopefully it lasts a good many years.

Purchased the unit yesterday. Wife is already bragging with how good the water feels! Installation was a breeze and got water running through it in about 45 minutes. Had some issues after setup though.

After all steps were followed I wasn’t sure how to identify if there was water flow as there was no movement in the controller and there is no breakdown of symbols or description of what indicates water flow in the controller.

Controller was just showing gallons remaining and a “water drop” so I just called it a night. This morning I went to look at the unit and as my wife started doing dishes I saw the water drop moving and tried with a couple faucets at the home and yes it was indicating water flow.

I am not sure why this did not show last night and I didn’t do anything different this AM to make it work or show water flow. Nonetheless now that everything is in working order I am very happy and satisfied with the unit and for this I give it 5 stars! Little disappointed with customer service though.

Called them to maybe get some understanding as to why I went through this issue with water flow and get some better understanding on regeneration but the technician was very vague and dismissive. Felt I was being treated as if asking dumb questions and for this I give it 3 stars.

Nonetheless very very happy, would still recommend and will buy more AO Smith products.

Purchased in July 2022, installed the next day after purchasing necessary plumbing. Quality is very good. Instructions are clear. I had a Water Boss 700 which failed after 7 years. I was disappointed to see the same water valve controls on this AO Smith as the Water Boss, as I believe this unit won’t last more than about 7 years either.

It will be interesting to see. Install was leak proof, and about what I expected. Only issue is my water does not appear to be as soft feeling after install. Water in Valrico is about 250ppm or about 15 gpg hardness with no iron issues for our city water.
