20 Best Two Man Ladder Stands (2023 Updated)

I was really happy to finally get this stand. Been looking for a couple years and finally pulled the trigger. Shipping was great. as others have mentioned, depending on who delivers the package and how many hills they’ve jumped…there may be some scratches on the finish.

I had no issues with visuals on mine. Instructions are pretty clear, there was one spot when attaching the upper seat section with grab claw to the foot platform with claw that you could apply it two different ways.

Unfortunately I was trying to ratchet it around a tree when I noticed I had bolted the top part to far back and my grab claws were way off from each other. Real PITA by myself. The only other thing I’ll mention and why it’s got a star taken off… the seat folds down and sets on two little pegs approximately 1.

5”-2” long. no way to secure it. it just sets there. This morning while trying to shift sideways (small Buck coming up) the side I was sitting on fell off the peg. Caught myself on the arm rests. The Buck and I just stared at each other, he didn’t seem to care that I just crapped myself.

he just kept on about his business and I’m back at home changing clothes (and making a support bar) Overall it seems like a great stand. Has cup holders, equipment hooks and a foot rest. Other than the small safety hick up with the seat, seems perfect.

This is a great stand and would have had a 5-star rating easily, but the way Muddy packages this stand isn’t great. The box was in great condition when delivered, but the metal parts inside are all packed together with nothing to divide them to keep them protected.

Many areas of the stand had rubbed together, marring or completely destroying the powder coat finish. I’ll have to do some touch up on it after this season. The stand went together great. The instructions were fairly clear.

This stand is shipped with NO spare parts, so keep track of them and watch what you’re doing during the assembly. No room for error. Two of us put the stand up without much difficulty. It’s a little sketchy getting that first ratchet strap on the tree, but once they were both on and the cable locking system was installed, this stand is rock solid.

I put it in a pretty big sycamore tree, and I’m glad I did. This stand on a 12-16” diameter tree would look ridiculous. It’s a big heavy stand. The footrest is outstanding and the seats are very comfortable.

I like the drink holders and gear hooks. I’ll be using the stand for a long time and will likely order another.

I bought two of these on sale to replace two cheaper, simple, platform-type ladders. They went together easily and are VERY roomy. Can almost put two people in it. I’m 5’9″ /170# so lots of room to move, set gear down next to you without it falling out, and be comfortable for a long sit.

The extra 3′ of height is also a bonus over the usual 15′ height. Need two people to put it up, don’t even think about it by yourself, but that’s always a good idea anyway for safety. I mount the footrest so it folds underneath and out of the way because it’s more of tripping hazard than anything else, as most of them are.

No missing parts or rust, boxes both arrived in good shape. Would buy again.

Regarding my Oct 12, 2020 review “Not bad for the price” regarding negative comment with the powder coating flaking off in many areas which require spray paint touch up. Add a second negative comment, the nut welded to the gun rail adjusters which the thumb wheel tightens into broke free the first time it was used on one stand.

Requiring some field disassembly and a trip back to the garage to re-weld the nut back on. Haven’t tried tightening the thumb wheels on stand #2 as yet to see if they break free but wish I would have before hauling these stands out into the woods and setting them up.

Suggestion; try tightening the thumb wheels before you leave to to set them up in the woods.

Very comfortable ladder stand for one. I am six foot tall, 220 lbs so I appreciate the extra room. Assembly wasn’t difficult, however the directions are a bit confusing as the terminology doesn’t always match the parts description.

Only one strap is provided while you actually need two to properly attach to a tree for maximum safety and sturdiness.

The stand arrived in a timely manner and seems to be made very well. Given that it is a 20-foot stand, setting it up was fairly easy with two people as long as you have experience setting up ladder stands.

The seat is very comfortable and accommodating. I did not feel cramped at all and was able to comfortably sit in it all day. Another reason that I chose this stand was the fact that it had a gun rest built onto it; however, I found out through actually using the stand that is it not in a good location.

You cannot stand up in the stand without moving your gun. I will correct that problem before the next hunting season by moving them to the outside edge of the shooting rail. Lastly, the only other drawback with this stand is that the seat does not fold up leaving you with a limited area to stand.

Even though it had a couple of flaws that was more of a personal issue, I would still buy another one because it was easy to install for a 20-foot stand, and very comfortable for a 5’10”, 225lb person.

It is a bit on the pricy side, but it is comfortable.

Bought this stand about 5-6 weeks ago. The box came with both botttom corners torn out of the box exposing the stand. The instructions would be fine if the parts were sorted and labeled like most other ladder stands.

The parts are just in a large bag all together. With only a “life size” picture of each for determining what part to use. Other brands have them sorted. Example bolt E with metal washer CC and plastic washer BB.

But each sorted and separated by type. When you have it out in the elements putting it together this would provide more clarity and room for less errors in the field. It slows down the building of the stand.

But overall the stand itself is constructed well for the price. And the seat is as advertised. Worth the money.

This wasn’t my stand but I used it for the second week of the 2020 season as the owner was unable to hunt with us. I must say I was impressed with this stand. I am used to using sketchy stands, and this thing is not that.

I used the second seat for my backpack which was so much better than having it hang off the tree. I like the overall width of it but that is also its negative, by the second week of the season all the leaves are off the trees and this black blob up in the canopy sticks out, literally.

We built a pvc frame canopy up and over it, netted it then brushed it in with some branches to try and conceal it better. All in all it is a great stand but would be better if it was a bit smaller if you are using it solo, make it 1 seat and a shelf.

If your a big person. this is for you! I’m 6′ and tipping 300 lbs. This is a sturdy & very comfortable stand. Lots of room for a guy my size! We decided to assemble the upper seat section at home (I’m glad we did), as there are a lot of nuts, bolts & washers.

It took us about 1 1/2 from opening the package. You will definitely want to sort out the bolts, they come in bulk in a baggie, about 7 different sizes. Make sure the stabilizing straps are on before raising the stand.

(mistake i made) Nylon washers between all moving metal parts make this a very quiet stand. It will require at least 2 people to tip it up. Padded rails keep it quiet & very comfortable!.

I bought the Sasquatch 2-man stand at Dickson Sportsman’s store in Dickson, TN. There, it was $20 more than Basspro but Basspro wouldn’t answer the phone to tell me if they had one. I’d rather go to Rick’s store anyway.

Awesome, sturdy stand. It’s heavy to so I had help and we used alternating pulleys to raise it up to the tree. Once locked, it is solid as a rock. Also, I’m a big man and it is big enough where another big man could set beside me.

It might be tight but most other stands won’t even handle two big men. I also love how large the platform is.

Bought this stand before deer season in preparation of hunting with my god son. Went together easy, and the instructions were fairly clear. One warning – this thing is heavy and awkward once it’s together.

To get it up we had 3 men and a supplementary ladder to to help. Can be done with less, but prepare yourself for a hernia. It was very comfortable during the hunt & several times I caught my god son dozing off lol.

After 1 season, I feel it’s a good stand, but time will tell how it stands up to the weather and repeated use.

The reason I bought this tree stand was to use for a Zip Line I installed for my grandchildren. I had shopped around, surfed the web and the reviews about this stand were great. It is made of high quality material and goes together easily enough by following the instructions.

I was looking for a tree stand that would be durable and steady and this one fits those requirements. I wanted one I could leave up for several years without taking it down and several reviews I read said they had done exactly that with their stand.

The seat, which can be raised up out of the way, is comfortable enough for what we use it for and the platform is very steady. The ladder is heavy duty and provides a hand rail to hold as you climb. I bought it from LL Bean using our Bean Bucks.

If I have a complaint it would be the bolts that are provided are all in one sealed bag. They are varying lengths, some very close to being the same length and I did use the wrong length bolt is a couple of places.

That was my only difficulty with this stand. We put the feet of the ladder near where we wanted them and my grown son and I were able to just pick it up and walk it up using the ladder to raise it into position.

It secures to the tree with nylon web straps and ours is very secure and steady, grandmother approved for her pre teen grandchildren to use.

Millennium seats are comfortable. Double seats obviously offer plenty of room. Stand arrived with $50 extra in shipping with a lot of “road rash”. Several tubes were dented and had to take pliers to bend back so things would fit.

Directions to assemble were very poorly written and parts had no labels. Directions also printed in the smallest lettering that seemed possible. Almost impossible to read. Thankfully could get online and blowup with my iPad.

Again very poorly written. Seemingly 50 pages of warnings in the assembly brochure when really needed about 4 pages of clear assembly instructions with photos would have done it. Really odd, didn’t find online video covering assembly either.

Once you get this heavy monster up a tree you should like the comfort.

I now own 6 of them. will never own another stand that doesn’t have suspended seats. The shooting rail works better if you cut about 6 inches off and re drill the holes. Can easily fall asleep in this stand without worrying about nose diving out to the ground.

(not on purpose) oldest stand is 10 years old without issues. i would recommend using another strap about 8ft up and tape all hinges. to stop metal noise. legs will not go numb in this bad boy. long sits without movement.

The tree stand arrived a day earlier than scheduled. There were many parts to assemble and everything was included in the box. The assembly instructions were easy to follow. The installation in the field required three men, as expected.

The result was a stand with the features I was looking for in a two man stand (e. g. , strong enough for two, comfortable to sit on, and a platform big enough to stand up for archery hunting).

I do not normally write reviews, but I am making this exception. This stand came well packaged, with all the parts, and with good instructions. It was easy to assemble, with every thing easy fitting together as it should.

It was also very easy to mount the stand securely to the tree. I do not plan to use it as a two man stand, but it is large enough for two friendly people.

Bought this stand for myself and daughter to hunt from. She is 13 and small stature, I’m 6′ 245lbs. This stand is a large enough for both of us to sit comfortably for several hours. It would be difficult for 2 adults to fit in the stand, although it is sturdy enough to hold 2.

adults. It is heavy and is not a single person setup operation, however once set up and strapped in it is rock solid. I really like the way this unit wraps around the tree. Makes it easier to take shots towards the rear of the tree.

Assembly instructions could be better, but if your halfway handy you can manage.

One of the best ladder stands I have put up. Very solid and good design. Roomy platform, good seat, adjustable shooting rail. The only one that is about as good is Millenium L110 which is also expensive but also unavailable for over a year.

This thing takes a couple of hours to assemble the first time and is not easy to put up. Very heavy. A 3 person job with some tackle and good planning. Once up it is sweet. I did not use the strap system up the ladder – complicated and seemed overkill to me.

Very excited to get this stand. When it came, there are a lot of pieces. Ended up taking me a lil more than an hour to put it together and ready for the woods. Installation on a tree is like every other ladder stand with the exception of the jaws on this stand.

Really holds in place well until you can climb up and secure it. When they claim this stand to be quiet, it’s the truth. You could have a dance party on the platform and would t hear a single sound. Very very quiet climbing in and out of.

Very comfortable seat. All around great stand. I will be purchasing more to replace my old stands.

I’m an old guy. Hunted out of many ladder stands. My Primal Double Vantage is the best one yet. Heavy duty. No squeaks like the 1” ladder stands. I’m replacing my other two ladder stands with Primal Double Vantage stands.

Bought this stand after my brother-in-law touted its safety features. I also liked the fact it was taller than most stands out there. My only complaint was that the directions were vague especially when it came to the Jaws set up.

I own several Rivers Edge tree stands but not this particular model until yesterday. This morning I opened the box and arranged all the parts, nuts and bolts. The instructions were easy to follow and everything went together well until I got to installing the seat which was quite a tight fit.

But some elbow grease and a c-clamp worked perfectly. After putting the stand up on my property this afternoon I found it to be sturdy, quiet and very comfortable. The platform was easy to stand upright on and move left or right.

perfect for bowhunting. I can’t wait for archery season to start now. Awesome stand!.

I bought this stand a week ago, on sale. I found the instructions easy to follow and the stand went together without any issues in about 45 minutes. I seperated the bolts by size before starting which was a help.

Installing the stand was a chore partly because of its weight was a bit of a chore but i got the job done by myself. The stand is solid and quiet. No regrets with this purchase. Just need some antlers to show up now!.

I am extremely handy yet it took hours to put this stand together in part because of the poor instructions and the large, unsized, bag of bolts. I ended up purchasing additional bolts to put it together.

The co’s website says you should only leave the stand up for two weeks. hardly lets the deer get used to it. There is a hump between the seats that prevents a lone hunter from sitting in the middle. While seated the center safety railing is too high blocking the view of anything with 25m to the front.

To me, the stand was pretty easy to assemble. Some directions were a little hard to follow and I used the diagram to clear things up. Took about an hour. Left most nuts and bolts loose until everything was together.

I also used a ratchet strap to pull the seat back together while putting the material on the seat. Made that process very easy. Haven’t put stand up yet, but seems very solid. Heavy stand, it will take 2 people to get it stood up.

Now that I’ve assembled this stand and sat in it for a few days, I would definitely buy another one. I would also buy the double version of this, based on my experience with the single. It’s sturdy (when assembled and installed correctly), has thoughtful design like somebody talked to actual hunters about it, it’s quiet, and man oh man is it comfortable.

Yes, I fell asleep in this stand and my hunting partner had to wake me up when he came by my stand to head out for the morning. OK, 4 stars instead of 5 for one reason and it’s the same reason mentioned in other reviews – the seat rest bar isn’t long enough.

I would also throw in that the hardware kit could use 10 more of the black plastic washers that prevent the metal-on-metal squeaking noise, but that’s very minor. Seat Bar – it’s not long enough, side to side, so that it rests properly on the frame.

It needs to be 1 inch longer. So, having read the other reviews, I was ready with a ratchet strap. I immediately figured out what folks were saying when it was all put together. I put the ratchet strap on the seat, near the back/ tree side, and cranked it just enough so the frame came together and the seat bar rested on the frame as intended.

Be sure to put this strap closer to the back/ tree side of the seat, rather than the ladder side, so you have room to stand up when you flip up the seat. Also, be sure to put the ratchet mechanism facing DOWN so it’s not poking your butt or legs when you sit.

I’m telling you, have the ratchet strap handy. Black Plastic Washers – A simple, genius idea! I put them everywhere, perhaps even where they were not specified, because they act like a washer – distributing force – and they make the stand quiet.

I’d love to have 10 more. Grab some extras at the hardware store. You’ll see what I mean when you assemble it and you’ll be glad you did. Tools You’ll Need – – Tape measure – 2 ratchet wrenches, 3/8 or 1/4 inch, doesn’t matter.

– Two 7/16 and two 1/2 deep well and short well sockets. You’ll need both sizes. – 9/16 or 5/8 sockets (can’t remember which) for at least 1 or 2 nuts and bolts. – Box wrenches in 7/16, 1/2, 9/16 and 5/8.

– Crescent wrench/ adjustable wrench will work if you don’t have the box wrenches – Angle snips – Regular pliers – Razor knife Count each piece of hardware before starting assembly else you could come up short and be dead in the water if you’re out in the woods.

Then, lay them out, organized by size and length. Take your time, check your work, read the instructions carefully, have your buddy check it too. There are no photos, just drawings. You’ll want to flip back and forth in the assembly guide, peeking ahead at the drawings to figure out how some things go together.

You’ll see why photos would help. It took 2 hours for 2 people to assemble, and about 1 hour for 3 people to stand up, adjust, fine tune, etc. It should go faster on the next one. NOTE: I took out one section of the ladder for my installation due to the trees, woods and setting/ location of my stand.

You’ll need to adjust how you run the tree stand-off support accordingly.

I just received my stand today and put it together. I haven’t put it in the woods yet. First impression seems well built but could use some improvements. The seat support that sets on the frame is too short.

It doesn’t reach all the way across which is pretty disappointing. I did however come up with a simple solution without altering the stand. Where the platform bolts to the legs, the platform is too wide.

If you try closing the gap by tightening it more i think you’ll just crush the tubing. I ended up adding some spacers between the platform and the legs. These issues are somewhat minor but when making a purchase like this you shouldn’t have to do anything extra besides following the instructions.

I think the stand would be a little better if 5/16” bolts were used instead of 1/4” bolts just seems a little undersized. On a positive note i really like the jaw system for attaching it to the tree before ever leaving the ground.

The jaw system and the height is what actually sold me on this stand anyway. I like the seat it’s pretty comfortable and your back isn’t up against the tree which is a huge plus. Overall I think this will be a great stand but only time will tell.

I’m looking forward to getting it into the woods and trying it out. I’ll update this review with any further opinions once I put it to the test. I’ll also measured the actual height from ground to platform once i put it up and update my review (I wish companies would give that measurement instead of to the shooting rail).

I purchased this stand 2 weeks ago. Overall the quality is not the best. The 2 brackets that attach to the standing platform and ladder were not lining up properly thus causing the standing platform to warp in the middle.

I fixed this issue by grinding the top ends of brackets so the holes would line up and take the pressure of the standing platform. Next 3 of the welds broke. The second bracket that you attach a ratchet strap to both spots where it was welded to the standing platform broke when assembling.

Also the bracket that supports the ladder against the tree the weld broke on it. I was able to fix these areas by drilling holes and inserting bolts and nuts. Overall welds were poor and the tubing to make the ladder is thin.

I plan on taking this stand down each year after hunting but I do not expect it to last to many years. Do your home work and spend a few more dollars on a better product.

The Muddy Huntsman Deluxe Ladder stand is one the the best quality stands that I have. After purchasing it, assembling it and putting up, I went and bought another one. The directions are excellent and the parts are all clearly illustrated.

It comes with nylon washers to use throughout to keep the stand quiet. The first one took about 4 hours for me to assemble. The seat folds upward and out of the way if desired. The footrest folds back and the shooting rail is both adjustable and moves up and out of the way.

All are smooth and quiet. My son and I put this stand up on a tree and we both felt it was one of the easiest to put up (we have 12 stands). I have some stands that were less expensive, but this one is worth every penny.

I am over 70 and feel safe in this stand with a guide rope. The stand comes with a harness but I have a better one that is easy to put on and take off. I highly recommend this stand.

Well made ladder stand. Assembly is a little lengthy, but easy to follow direction. But do your self a favor and buy a smaller ratchet strap for the ladder stabilizer bar. Pickup at the store was easy pest!.

you can not put together with one person. mainly the top section. things dont fit well need to use a lot of muscle to get things to fit. once assembled and up very comfy but if you like to stand and have seat up the base makes noise as you shift your weight.

why are the tubes of the bottom ladder section crushed flat? what does everyone use for feet on this stand. I use the feet with pivots to help hold the legs in place when putting the stand up. without some kind of feet added this stand will just sink into the ground and with the tubes flattened out you cant add feet to it.

I’ve put it together but haven’t put it up yet. Still trying to figure out how to add something so it doesnt sink into the ground. at first I thought the bottom ladder section was damaged (crushed) but it was both legs.

That’s just stupid unless they sell some kind of feet for it I’m not aware of.

This stand is very comfortable and the shooting rail is adjustable. Quality of stand appears to be excellent. However, before going to your hunting site, make sure that all the nuts, bolts, washers, clips are accounted for.

This is the only reason that I dropped this stand to three stars is because I was missing bolts and the lock on nuts. That is a real pain when you are 40 miles from the nearest hardware store. The quality control at the manufacturer needs to be improved to prevent this major inconvience.

The box and sealed packages of nuts and bolts were opened in the bed of the truck at the hunting site. Therefore, I do not feel that anything was lost in shipment or unpacking. Also you will need three people to work the stand upward and lean it against the tree or two people and a winch.

Once assembled the top end (seat and foot portions) tend to twist as you are raising the stand upward. I used two people to “balance” the stand and the winch on my 4×4 to raise the stand up.

Got the stand earlier than expected. That’s a good thing. Assembled it at home( took a little while by myself) and transported to hunting camp. Finished assembly in the woods and stood it up with the help of 2 more guys.

The more people you have the easier it will be. Once it was up and leveled this stand is solid as a rock. Highly recommend this stand! The seat is as comfortable as the deck furniture in my backyard and easily moves out of the way if you have to stand to shoot your bow.

The rail is sturdy and solid. I got the blind also and that was easy to install as well. One drawback was there is no carabiner on the tree strap for your harness to hook to so I added one.

I bought this stand for bowhunting and it is just the right height from ground to platform for the spot I sit. The reason for only 3 stars is the stand is a little squeaky. Most of the squeaks come when climbing up the ladder, but does squeak while sitting/standing on platform.

As a bowhunter, I want to be completely silent. I replaced the spring in the ladder for stainless steal hardware and placed felt between metal on metal contact points. still some squeaks. I got this stand on sale so it was worth it, but slightly disappointed that a hunting company doesn’t manufacture a stand with no metal on metal contact points.

Pre-purchase research found high praise for this stand. Welds well done, light weight, ease of use, etc. All of which are true. I’d sworn off climbers a few years ago and gone to ladder stands but this seasons scouting put the deer in places where packing in a ladder stand would have been a real chore.

So with good reviews & 11 pounds on the hoof I picked up one of X-Stand X-1 climbers. Out of box 4 bolts attach the spring bar guides, add the elbow rest pads and straps & it is ready to hunting. Ease of use: no knobs to unscrew not guide arms to raise into place & lock (and hence no locking knobs to strip or fail half way up); just put the cable around the tree, lock into place, attach your harness strap & up you go.

First time out: This things climbs like a dream. The platform is so light you don’t even feel it. Both seat & platform sections grip well & provide a steady secure feeling when moving & especially when relocating your harness strap.

Descending was also easy once I found the proper distance between seat (hence elbows) so my legs could best unseat the platform. With my daypack strapped to the frame for packing in/out my total carry load was probably less than 20 pounds & was quite comfortable even when crawling under a new & immense blow down–something my 40# ladder stand packed weight would have made impossible.

All in all the best stand I’ve had the pleasure to use in some 48 years of deer hunting. On line reviews suggest the spring bars open the cable loops sufficiently when relocating to avoid branch knobs.

I found this not to be the case when a hidden knob I’d missed when trimming caused a hang up of the platform cable during the ascent. I was; however, able to free myself much easier than I had experienced with my previous Lone Wolf climber.

I even had two nice does pass behind the tree.

This is a well made stand, the directions did not quite match the hardware as it looks like a slight design change was made, but the instructions were not updated. very minor. The stand is heavy, this is not something that most people can haul out on their back in a single trip.

It did not come with the cup holder that it says does, and I would not use it anyway, but does have several threaded holes on both sides to screw in hooks to hang things from. Putting it out this weekend, can’t wait to use it.

Four stars only because of weight.

First off this stand is heavy, the straps used for carrying like a backup, need to be able to get moved up so the weight sits higher up on the back. Second, the climber is heavy. Third, it’s a bit large.

Fourth, would like for it not to be so heavy. If you have to walk a long distance, this climber is not ideal. Unless you are leaving it at or near your area or walking a short distance, then the weight is a minor inconvenience.

Long distance travel, get custom made straps or move the weight higher up on your back. This stand seems to have more room for sitting and standing. Also, because of the flexible cables, you can climb a wide variety of tree trunk size.

Included is a harness for fall protection. Overall, solid stand but heavy and seems more sturdier than the aluminum climbing stands.

Dangerous Stand, You have to lower the top stand, to the bottom stand, and then step out of the seat. And then slide the seat towards the tree so you can face away from the tree. All while your 20 Feet in the air.

Returned BOTH of them. I’ll stick with the Summits they cost 3x what this stand costs but I feel alot safer in the air.

This is one heavy stand. I like a steel stand for the durability and for the difference in price for this stand in alum version vs the little difference in weight, the steel is a far better value. But it is heavy.

I wont be carrying it in and out so no big deal there. But if you are planning on throwing it on your back and walking very far, this ain’t the stand you want. Back pack straps are not very good. I took mine off anyway but if I do need them I will get a set of after market ones that are more comfortable.

Other than that the stand is great. Sturdy with plenty of room.

This is my first ladder stand, I bought this for the bow season. I chose it because of the great price and the arm rests, which I covered using pipe insulation wrapped with electrical tape. I also foamed the insides of the tubular steel with GreatStuff.

It is quiet and feels pretty safe up in a tree. I sometimes am leaving a section off and carrying a 12-13 foot stand into the woods for use on small public land. Like this you can carry it pre-assembled.

For longer transport I break it apart and use rubber bungee cords to hold it together, wrap all the straps around the armrests, and then strap it on top of a set of inflatable wheels that I have for canoes and kayaks.

This works great, almost like a deer cart, and in fact I will use it like this when I am successful. I am happy with the purchase. Just be aware that it’s not an “archer’s” ladder stand that has an expanded platform, so you have to set it up where you can shoot the direction the deer are expected to come in.

Easy enough to put together. Instructions were clear and it was light and easy to haul through the woods. The safety harness serves its purpose, however it would be nice if it clipped onto the safety belt attached to the tree.

As it is designed, you have to remove the belt from the tree every time you enter or exit the stand.
