20 Best Swim Suits For Women Over 50 (2023 Updated)

So to start with I bought a 12 Hyper Blue and it was to long for my torso so I brought it back and got the size 10. Love the look the blue is amazing. Did not like the hydro-bra. The elastic and shaping as well as the pads show through the suit.

I took out the pads that was a little better but still wasn’t impressed also felt if wet it would take forever to dry. So I started to cut out the bra portion of the suit. I’ve done this with other suits before.

This was a mistake as the front lining does not cover behind the bra area. Hence the outlines showing through. Ooops. To late. So I had to finish. Unfortunately because the liner was sewn into the bra I had to remove it in its entirety and before I knew it I had taken out to much and didn’t leave anything in the crotch as well…ooops again.

Anyhow I tried the suit back on and “ Oh my god” the fabric feels amazingly good. I looked in the mirror and it looked good except maybe a bit of nipples showing. I could live with that. A small price to pay for it feeling so amazing.

I went to the pool it held up great but was taken back a bit by a couple stares until I realized it was a tad transparent at least the lighter blue trim certainly was and the rest not quite as bad. Oops.

In a way still glad I removed the liner. Oh also note there was a bit of a camel issue as well. So if your feeling really sexy don’t remove the lining at least leave something in the crotch area. Other than that buy two suits and try it with one you won’t be sorry.

Dicks has it on sale for $64. 00. It’s a steal. Sorry photo would not load. Perhaps I’ll try to load one later.

I have had countless of these suits in several different colors. I am a 67 year old woman and I have been swimming my whole life so I’m still in pretty good shape. I love the high cut of the legs and the cups.

The breasts aren’t what they used to be so the cups are greatly appreciated and the higher legs keep it from looking like a granny suit. Rinsing the suit in cold water and hanging to dry after will keep it going much longer.

This bathing suit looks great in the front and works well for exercise swimming. However, the low back at the bottom is too low and it shows flab – even if you don’t have much. By pulling that back upwards, it reduces the problem, but then I have to remember to pull it up.

A better suit is the one with the thinner “spagetti straps” which comes up in the back to waist height and therefore doesn’t pinch fat in an unseemly way. The procurement of this product on ebay was excellent – completely satisfied!!.

Had not tried LE swimsuits before. Due to my long torso, I can only buy long swimsuits or two-piece, so when I saw that LE makes long suits, I decided to try them. But most plus-size manufacturers assume that anyone wearing a 1X on the bottom must be at least DD on top.

Not so. I bought two styles from LE—Carmela and this one. Carmela is an absolute no-go for those of us who are not top-heavy. This V-neck works, although as usual the bust is a little large, but it is not too noticeable.

Also wish the long version was a little longer. The “slimming” control layer works well but the downside to that is that it makes the swimsuit more difficult to get on than the average lycra suit. Think wet suit and you’ll be prepared for the struggle  Would like to see it in a few more colors.

This is my go to suit, and has been for years. It is great in the D cup, and the underwire is very comfortable and supportive. It is flattering, and it I love that I can swim laps in this, the criss cross back straps stay in place.

But, Every year I beg Lands End to make the solid colors in BRIGHT, HAPPY COLORS. Like WARM PINK, TURQUOISE, ROYAL BLUE, or a beautiful PURPLE, maybe even the beautiful ombré style. But, all there has been to pick from for several years is black, and the depressing blackberry.

There used to be pretty colors! PLEASE, PLEASE MAKE SOME SOLIDS IS PRETTY COLORS! The prints are not necessarily as flattering on many people.

I initially loved this suit. I have been wearing it 3x a week for about 1. 5 months now, along with another LE swimsuit, same style different pattern. It is made super well. It holds me in, I probably could have gone with a D cup but ordering the regular kept my bosom in place while doing water aerobics.

My friend have some chlorine resistant LE suits, too. We are both in the water for 70 minutes, spa for 10. This suit (I bought the no longer available purple paisley) was fading noticably into wearing 4 times.

I’ve had this suit less than 2 months, and it is super faded. Everything else is holding up wonderfully. The other LE suit in a different pattern, same style has also faded significantly. I shower with suit on after every wearing.

My friend’s LE chlorine resistant suits have also faded, not just a little, either. If you don’t care about fading, get this suit. Or if you are going to wear occasionally, get this suit. It holds me in (mother cat tummy) and keeps my bosom in place.

The fanny is a little revealing, and I don’t even have much of one. I purchased the correct size, 10. 5’2″, 145 lbs, top heavy. A larger size would look like I’m wearing a full diaper in back. It’s a high quality suit, except for the severe fading.

I bought this suit to wear for high school swim team and while it’s a nice suit, it looks stupid. The butt area covers way too much and the ugly thick straps are uncomfortable. It’s more designed for older women.

Also, the suit wore out quicker than I would have expected, as compared to other suits I have owned. I was made fun of for wearing this ridiculous suit. While they are more pricey, the Nike Hydrastrong suits are much better and last longer.

I loved this bikini online, I wanted to go for something that is classy but also a little cheeky instead of a bikini. Problem is, there isn’t a size guide so I had no idea what size to get! I had to go along the model’s size in the product details.

I looked it up on google and there wasn’t anything about these W sizes. So unfortunately I have to return this as I got the wrong size… I got W28 when I should have got W30. I suggest you go up a size!! Nonetheless, it’s a nice cheeky swimsuit that’s nice quality, quick delivery.

This is lovely looking swimsuit however I ordered small – my usual size and a size 8 arrived. I could barely get it on! So I ordered again, medium this time. So now a size 10 arrives and again, its on the small side.

It’s really disappointing. I didn’t think that a medium would be a small 10 and it’s frustrating that you can’t just select the actual size. To give some context a size 8 asos jean is pretty loose on me.

It seems impossible to get consistent sizing the days. Unfortunately I have had to return both and won’t be purchasing again after all the faff!.

I ordered these poles to use as a back up for my other poles. When I got them, I was impressed with their features. I was surprised to find that the straps were designated as “L” and “R”. I have owned numerous hiking poles and have never seen this.

I noticed that the grips were different for the right and left hands. I have always used poles that had a compression locking system that tighten when you turned the pole segment. These have a stationary locking system that appears to be very tight.

I am not sure, but it looks like you may be able to tighten them up if they expand. Overall, I am well pleased with these hiking poles.

Bought my daughter 2 sizes of the same swimming costume purely because after using the measurement guide previously she needed the bigger size top. We kept the swimming costume that fit and returned the other but could only get a credit note, not a refund.

Had we returned as we received I would have had to pay return postage. This isn’t good customer service, considering all other shops say you can return to any shop free of charge. It is a good costume but I only chose Sports Direct because the costume was slighter cheaper.

Had a known I would have been this much out of pocket I would have got the same one from elsewhere.

This is my favorite suit. I’m in the water for practice multiple times a week and this holds up to hard practice, to salt or chlorine pools, and this brand has lasted longer than any other suit. This particular style is my favorite since it holds like a sports bra, the leg isn’t low cut, so it doesn’t rub weird, and I prefer the straps to the skinny kind.

Best speedo out there, best practice suit out there.

I love this swimsuit!! It fits so comfortably and has great tummy control which is area I always struggle finding a suit that I feel good in. I have that csection gone bad belly pouch but this bathing suit makes me feel so sexy.

I love wearing it! I have it in black sz 16 and It has been my favorite for the last two summer seasons. I just purchased another black for future wear in case style is discontinued that’s how much I love it!! I also ordered the leopard in 16 and as soon as I took it out of the bag I could see the cut was not same as the black.

I don’t know if it was sized incorrectly but it is definitely cut smaller than the 16 it’s more like a 14. although it fit, I’m going to exchange for different size 16 because in the back area it’s snug and I don’t like how my rolls look.

I wouldn’t exchange for 18 because it does stretch a tiny bit with wear and when wet to your body’s firm so you want to keep that awesome Tummy control the suit offers vs feeling and looking loose by sizing up.

This suit is definitely true to size and you will feel like a sexy goddess in it I was so excited to see the new print I hope the new exchanged size 16 fits me like the black one. Even though the cut of suit was off, I still feel this bathing suit deserves 5 stars.

Outstanding quality and I love the strong control material even though I am technically a size 2 to 4!! I wish you had this suit but in a two piece version for women like me that are average size. I do want to offer that I wish I could find a swim bottom that completely cups under the rear in a crescent manner but is not so high up on the hip, and more of a mid rise waist.

Even the high rise bottoms are too high in my opinion and seem to have insufficient rear coverage. This suit ran small so the one piece size 6 worked, but not sure what size I would wear in a two piece.

I like the fact that the top edge of the chest does not plunge down and is closer to a more horizontal line simply because I had a mastectomy with implants due to cancer and this style is not only very flattering but hides the imperfections left after surgery.

The top part also has great support even when wet due to the strong material. The only reason I returned it is because the elastic in the leg area was not strong enough for my preference and I decided two piece suits are just more comfortable for me.

I have bought LE swimsuits for years and still have several that are like new now. However, I recently lost weight and need a size smaller. The fit this year is very different in the three items I purchased.

The chest is uncomfortably tight and the rear end is too loose and also rides up and doesn’t cover properly. I’ve never had this problem before as I’m bigger on the bottom than in the chest. My previous size 10Long suits were perfect, fit my somewhat long-waisted body and didn’t ride up but are now too big.

I bought an 8Long and can’t even get them over my chest even though L E’s size chart recommends a size 6 for me. Very disappointed, and I hate paying for returns when the seller’s misinformation is the cause.

LOVE this swimsuit! Adjustable straps in back, wide enough to be comfortable in front. Rouching for slimming, no metal wires to make you uncomfortable, and the neckline is just the right height to not be showing the world everything you got but also not be wearing a turtleneck (basically everything I look for in a swimsuit!) I have a long torso so I basically only buy Lands end long swimsuits, as regular suits never fit.

Lands’ End, PLEASE keep making this suit and make more colors of this available in long! At the time of writing this there are lots in regular length but there is only one color in long and it’s on clearance so hardly any sizes are available.

I bought one 1-2 sizes bigger than I need which I now wear all the time and one 1-2 sizes smaller (just in case. ) because that’s all there was.

I bought this in black and i absolutely love it! It has simple lines and the shirring on the sides is so flattering. It also has strong tummy control but is still comfortable. I ended up buying it in another print because i like it so much.

I have not worn a bathing suit in years but i will wear this with confidence on my upcoming cruise! It fits true to size as well. Excellent quality.

Normally I look like the poster child for Lands’ End. I love their clothes, they fit well and they’re very comfortable. But I have tried two swimsuits and I will never order another one. Swim shorts fit just fine.

Swimsuits are so tight in the chest that you could use them for an iron lung. The first one I bought was a tankini so I thought perhaps maybe that was just a little tight in the top the way it was cut.

The one I just bought is a scoopneck and although I used to wear a long torso, I had material bagging up in front of my crotch. The suit fits fine from my rib cage down other than the baggy material at the bottom.

But it’s not too tight. It is so tight in my chest and in my shoulders that I cannot breathe. That’s the way the tankini fit. Mind you there’s not much of a bra so all that’s doing is smashing everything as flat as humanly possible.

I am not a large woman. I am 5’5”, 63 years old and weigh 138 pounds. Normally I wear a 10 to an 8 in Lands’ End. I went by the size measurements and went with the recommended size 10. The material is just too tight in the top.

Way too tight. Absolutely will never order another one.

Okay, y’all. This isn’t a cute beach bathing suit, but it is great for swimming. I bought it in extra length and it fits perfectly. It will cover your entire bottom and part of your thighs. I’m pear shaped and my waist to hip ratio is pretty high, so I sized up and I’m glad I did.

I do think I could have worn my normal size, but I’m recovering from a spinal injury and can’t tolerate anything tight. I bought this to walk laps in the pool and do water aerobics, and I think it will be perfect.

There’s no chance of the girls escaping, which is my usual issue with two pieces, and I don’t have to worry about what is showing when I move. Typically when I buy a one piece I have to size up a few sizes to get the length I need, and I appreciate that I don’t have to do this in this style.

That being said, I’m not super tall though I have a long torso, so it might not be long enough if you are very tall.

I bought this suit in the navy tropical color a few weeks ago when it was on sale at Kohl’s. I purchased a couple of Tankinis from LE with underwires and had to send them back because they had an unusual fit and were very uncomfortable, size 18W.

I’m a 5’3” +/- 170 lbs. 60+ year old, and I wear a 40C bra size. I tried a size 16 one piece as mentioned above in the store and was blown away. I swear, this is the best fitting suit I’ve ever had! The soft cup bra was supportive and the suit style slimming.

Liked it so much, I ordered it in the black color from the LE website, received it today, and lo and behold, same great fit! I am one happy customer and I am so glad I made this purchase! I would definitely recommend this swimsuit for a comfortable and supportive fit!.

I am 5’7” / 140 lbs / 34B. I bought the small and it worked out fine. I thought the small would give me a massive camel toe but looked very flattering overall. I could tell the arm holes were a little short and would slide off the shoulders when swimming and the leg cut wasn’t as high cut as I thought it would be so I would recommend getting a medium if that’s available.

My nips totally poked through so maybe look into water-based nipple covers. I got the suit in red and it was opaque for everything else after getting wet. It was a super fun and flattering suit to wear for a day on the lake!.

I absolutely love this bathing suit. I had one last year and I ended up losing it so I bought another one this year. The sizing is a little different from last year. Originally I bought a S/M and it fit perfect but the sizing changed and they have regular S and M so I went for the small.

The bathing suit looks amazing, the only issue is that it rides down a lot so I have to be very careful. Other than that I love it and get so many compliments! Ravesuits has the nicest looking bathing suits !.

I’ve bought two bikini’s online, this one and one with a geometric black and white pattern. They are both the same size 75B. I feel completele strangled in this one as the width is no where near real size.

The other one is about 10cm wider and falls off. What is up with your sizing?? I’m very disappointed and returning the lot.

This v-neck blouson tankini swim top was a perfect fit for a mid 50 y/o. It is stylish as well as practical for the beach. I’m normally a size medium in women’s sizes and the large in this top fit best.

With this quality of top, I would have expected to pay twice what I paid. I definitely would buy again and am excited to see what patterns they have next season!.

I am a lap swimmer and scuba diver. The suit fits comfortably under my wet suits. The smooth lines do not rumple. The red color is really vibrant, suits my complexion perfectly. The cut on the suit is good, not too conservative and not too daring — just right.

Looked great at first, though a snug fit for my size. Only used a couple of times a month and always hand washed straight after use BUT within a year fabric started breaking down and was transparent.

so unwearable. Sadly could not recommend.

My daughter has this suit in both red (which has a black liner, and looks darker in the water) and in purple. The purple she has had about 3 months longer than the red. Both are worn on average once a week for 2-3 hours (5 days of practice, but 5 suits to rotate).

The purple one is now a faded, splotchy gray color, while the red (albeit newer) is still a nice shade of red without any immediate signs of fading. Both suits are rinsed in cold water faithfully after use to help get the chlorine out.

Price wise, these are decent practice suits, or even drag suits. They fit true to size for her.

I think this suit is of great quality. I wanted to try a Sporti one as in the past I have bought the Ocean racerback from Dolfin. Pro: good quality, color is fun (not a true navy blue), good price. Con: if you are a pear shape, one has to keep to readjusting as it want to slide up (I love high cut swimsuit, as I love to swim laps, but this will actually slide up ones” rear).

At the beach, same thing occur. vs. Ocean offers much better coverage for curvy woman. My size: bought 32 (Ocean and Sporti), 5”2″ 120 lbs, Small bust, pear shape.

My size 34 Sporti is overall a great suit. It is supportive and covers my 34 C+/D bust, incorporates my 35″ hips nicely. I am 5’3″, short waisted, 105 lbs. and broad shouldered with an athletic build for my small frame.

Nice and snug, hasn’t stretched or faded in 20+ wears. I understand it is a competition suit, but it is pretty high on the sides of the legs and the back is pretty low, even for a teen or younger person with a perfect body.

I do enjoy it in spite of that, but it does look a little odd being so high over my tan lines on the legs. I would still give it 5 stars and thanks be to God I can wear and look decent at my age.

This suit fit well and true to size. I am 5’5″, 25x28x38 (32D), with a shorter torso and petite shoulders, and typically wear a size 6 in swimsuits. The size 6 fit and was appropriately snug as a new suit.

They get looser in the water and tend to stretch out so I like them snug when brand new. I usually buy Trina Turk and La Blanca in cuts that are a bit more revealing (lower cut or more back exposed).

I bought this because I thought it would be good for mumming or when I need a durable swimsuit when I’m active (paddle boarding, swimming in the ocean). I have the hooded zip up swim shirt in the same color.

I was bummed they didn’t quite match. The swim top was a bit more orange and the suit was more pink. The color of this suit is a subdued and wasn’t as flattering as brighter options I tried on. The rouching is flattering and held me in but the back seemed plain.

The leg openings are lower and made my legs look shorter. The back comes up high and actually made my back look bigger than styles that k have that show more of my back. My 8 year old told me this looked bad in me, especially the back.

He was complimentary of other suits I tried on. I decided at age 41, I want comfortable and practical but just a bit sexier than this style. It is a fantastic style, good quality, and fits wonderfully so I can see the appeal of this suit.

I just didn’t feel great when I put it on so it will go back.

Ordered my usual size. Received it just in time to pack it for a month long Regent cruise. First day on the ship I slipped it on and it fits nothing like the 10+ other Tommy bahama suits I own. Luckily I’d packed those! Too big, stitching makes awkward shaping, see through.

All around major disappointment. I’m not the only one, see the other reviews! I threw away the shipping packaging removed the tags and packed it in my suitcase, Tommy bahama suits have been so reliable and perfectly manufactured and sized for as long as I’ve purchased them so I didn’t think it would be any different this time!.

This is NOT my 1st Tommy Bahama one piece swim suit, but at this rate, it could be my last! Purchased the one piece white, asi like the strapless. The top of the suit is huge compared to the ones I have, same size.

The suit is sheer in some spots specifically across the middle, stomach area. Also the suit came with a stain on it. Extremely disappointing.

The tanksuit is ALMOST perfect. Color, shaping, chest fit/support – all wonderful. BUT (and I really wanted to spell that differently!) the design of the leg openings is very poor. The openings are cut just a tad too high in both front and back – and not like an intentional high-cut design – more like a shortcut in quality.

The openings do not “stay” with the leg – they are somewhat floppy and do not provide enough coverage. I ordered a Regular and then tried a Long. Although the Long did provide a little more fabric, the design of the leg openings was still the same, was “floppy” and did not cover enough.

I usually wear swim shorts over my suit – so for the few times I may be in the water without my shorts, I may keep the suit because I love the rest of it. but very disappointed in the poor quality of the leg design.

This has a very slenderizing effect with absolutely no tugging, pulling or compression. It is realistically sized for how real women are shaped, and the fabric drape is very flattering and slenderizing.

This top was long and covers everything nicely, the drape gives the illusion of a slender waist. The top will accommodate a larger bra size woman but also accommodates smaller cup size, a truly versatile design with a non binding interior shelf that provides a boost without feeling uncomfortable.

Swimsuits can be nightmares but this one is problem-free, just measure your top circumference and you will get a good looking fit. There is a matching bottom that is equally flattering. This swimsuit is most definitely worth the price, even if you pay full price, I’m pretty confident it will fit you if your weight fluctuates up or down a size, or during pregnancy.

The fabrics are very attractive too. For once I feel confident wearing a bathing suit in public. It’s attractive and modest while still looking very fashionable and fresh.

I love this suit but I should have ordered in one size smaller. I don’t have anything to compare it to so I don’t know how true to size it runs. I’m really big chested but not that big elsewhere. I did notice that the elastic around the leg openings is quite large.

I need to figure out a way to take it in (and I don’t know how yet) because I can’t get a smaller size-they’re all sold out. The suit feels like it would be perfect if it were one size smaller. Again, my sizing error, not LLBean’s.

If you order your true size, it should fit perfectly. I’m disappointed I couldn’t get one size smaller.

I bought this style one in pink one in grey last November 2021. I haven’t worn the grey one yet, but started wearing the pink late February 2022. I have very narrow hips so it’s always really difficult to find a swim suit that fits.

My normal bra is 36G. I was so pleased with the fit. So far a 5 star review. Unfortunately I noticed recently the lycra is already disintegrating, down the back and now across the bodice. I swim twice a week and (as advised) always rinse out the suit in cold water after each time.

I wish there was a way of stopping this happening. I am disappointed as I won’t be able to wear mine for much longer and spent quite a lot of money only to throw it away after 2 months use. Sorry 1 Star now.

The fabric was great. The design I don’t believe is very slimming. I didn’t like how little support there was in the bra. It seemed to push my breasts out at the sides not holding the girls forward, putting them in the way when I moved my arms.

I’m returning this suit.
