20 Best Steam Mop For Vinyl Plank Floors (2023 Updated)

OK I’ve never been able to get my floors as clean before I picked up this tool. It’s incredible, thoughtfully designed with two fabric attachments (plenty to cover about 1,500 sq feet of hardwood floor) and a reversible mop head.

It’s super easy to operate and best of all requires no chemicals or detergents to get floor sanitized. Just heat and water – LOVE. My chief gripe is the cord. It’s rigid and feels cheap – wish a different material like a woven fabric cord was used.

I also picked up a heavy duty hand wand from Bissell and wish Shark had this kind of product or better an all-in-one mop/handtool similar to their awesome Vortex Pro.

The mop works well on floors, but. I purchased this model because I wanted the lift-off handheld steamer. Unfortunately, I can’t use the handheld steamer in some of the ways I was hoping. It was shortsighted to design this (or purchase it) without a hose connection for attachments.

It does not come with a hose connection, and one is not available for purchase as an accessory. It’s fine for easily accessible surfaces. Its lack of flexibility makes it challenging for cleaning the bathtub (see pic) and nearly impossible to maneuver over the entire surfaces to clean the kitchen and bathroom sinks.

I’ve had the attachment come off of the steamer a couple of times trying to get the sinks cleaned. I’m feeling quite a bit of buyer remorse and wish I hadn’t missed the return window. I wish I’d purchased the Bissell PowerFresh Lift-Off Pet Steam Mop, Steamer, Tile, Bathroom, Hard Wood Floor Cleaner or the Shark Lift-Away Pro Steam Pocket Mop.

This is a very versatile mop system. I have used this on so many things in my home. What you receive is an eight piece system. You receive a handle for using on your floors, a pivoting mop head, a small nylon brush, metal grate brush, a grout brush, a squeegee, a mop pad, and another floor mop pad.

What is great about this system is that it is super easy to fill with water, and you are ready to use it within thirty seconds. It really heats up quickly. I have used the squeegee on my mirrors and windows.

It has cleaned them so well. It removed all the toothpaste splatters on my mirror in the bathroom. There are so many items that you can clean. I have used this steamer to get wrinkles out of our clothing, I’ve sanitized my floors, and even went over my microfiber furniture.

Our little dog gets on the funiture and sometimes she gets dirt on the couch and chairs, so I used the steam to kind of get the spots off and to refresh the color. You can use the metal grate brush to clean off your grill, and remove all the grease and gunk off of the grate.

The small nylon brush is great to use around the sink handles and the handles in the shower. You could also use the squeegee on shower doors. I do not have shower doors, but I use the steam to sanitize my shower head and water handle.

Whenever I was using it to clean my mirrors, or anytime it was handheld, it did get heavy after a time. It is not lightweight. You will get an arm workout. I love how easy this system is to assemble.

It is easy to use, and heats the water quickly. There are so many things you can clean. You can literally clean your home from top to bottom. This system is very versatile. I love using it, and I would recommend it to anyone.

I hate mopping the floor and I am always looking for quicker, better easier ways to do it. I love that this Black and Decker 8 piece Steam Cleaning system has definitely helped with that. I love that i can use it as a handheld steam cpeaber for the shower or counters or and the floor attachment and use it on the floor.

Hubby works construction, kids all play sports, new puppy and 2 grandkids, means my floor is always dirty. I love that there are attachments for grouts and other hard to reach places. I was not super impressed with the directions, i feel like they were all over the place and didn’t really give step by step.

It was pretty easy to figure out how to put together and use once got to it. The water heats up quickly and you are able to start using steam in short order. So far I have just done the kitchen floor and a quick test on my counter tops.

I can’t wait to see what all I can clean eith this little badboy!.

We had two different inexpensive steam mops when we lived in the UK. They were easy to use and made cleaning up the kitchen or bathroom a breeze. They last longer if you use distilled water because it was eventually the hard water that built up in the first one that it quit steaming after 3-4 years of steady use.

When we returned to the US, I bought this one based on the good reviews. It came with two washable pads which is convenient and you can use either side for cleaning. However, I was disappointed to find after buying it that the pumping action is necessary to produce the steam.

This means when you are trying to push it or pull it across the floor, a lot of the energy you put in results in the handle going inward instead of the mop moving. This makes it much more laborsome to mop and makes for a sore arm.

This was annoying at first but after a few month it stopped producing much (or any steam) and instead drips water on the floor behind it. So now we basically have a $60 piece of junk as it doesn’t steam.

Worth every penny! My sister bought this and we tested it! I was amazed at the amount of dirt being lifted from the tiles that actually looked clean! Not using chemicals is a huge plus when there are little ones in the household.

I immediately purchased one for me and raved about it to friends. We are now shark enthusiasts! The setup was super easy. Didnt need the instructions! The cord is long, which makes it possible to cover larger areas.

I combine this with my Shark IQ R100 robot vac and my tile and wood floors have never looked better. The steam gets going pretty quickly and you start gliding along the floors. The floors dry surprisingly fast! It has a pumping feature that creates extra steam, which works great on the tile grout or stains.

At first it’s hard to notice bc the grout is obviously wet but when it dries, you can see the difference. Love this steam mop and will be gifting this at baby showers and weddings Lol! It’s a must have in every household!.

My wife and I love the Shark Steam Pocket Mop. It was easy to assemble and did not require any tools. The directions are easy to follow and it comes with a measuring cup to make it easy to fill with distilled water.

We filled it with water, plugged it in, waited 30-45 seconds, and began mopping. If you want more steam, just pump the handle a few times and it increases the amount of steam released. It works great around the stove to remove oil that splatters out of the pan.

It is also great for use in the bathroom to disinfect the area around the toilet. It comes with two mop covers that are machine washable. We use it on our porcelain tile and hardwood floors and it works great.

I wish it held more water so I did not have to refill it as often. It is small and lightweight but does a great job steaming the dirt and grime off our floors. I highly recommend the Shark Steam Pocket Mop!.

I purchased the shark mop on special from Myer – am so very glad I did. The unpacking was easy and easy to put together the handle, rod and lower body, following the enclosed booklet instructions and details.

It took no more than three minutes to open and set up. Its worth reading the booklet about where you cannot use the mop and the safety points. (Like not vertical walls) As noted, I did use demineralised water for the good sized water tank, and once the water was heated and ready you had to pump or lever the handle up and down a bit to get the steam flowing which was easy.

Then I did a very thorough job going over and over each section of our large tiled floor area several times. This wonderful mop did a fantastic job, the floors looked really lovely and clean afterwards, and the mop head microfibre cloth finshed up considerably dirty which means it actually did clean the floor! I look forward to using this mop frequently as I can see this mop is the *right* tool for the job and my floors can only look cleaner and cleaner from now on.

I bought this two months ago to replace my previous Shark steam mop (a different model), which my daughter “borrowed”. I have also had other brands of steam mops in the past. I like that the water tank is removable and can be filled directly from the tap and there is not a little jug which needs to be stored somewhere.

I like that it is light and relatively small and hence easy to store and carry. I also like that it stands up by itself. My previous mop had the flip over option and the cloth was like a pocket, with only one side open.

Unfortunately it shrank on its first wash and never fitted properly again, often coming off mid-mopping (one of the reasons I did not press y daughter to return it), so I liked that this model’s cloth attached differently.

The bit I did not anticipate with this model was that whilst the cloths stays on fine when mopping hard floors, I cannot use it to steam clean carpets as the cloths sticks to the carpet in preference to the mop.

I wish I had known this before buying this mop. This is the first steam mop I have had where you have to prime the pump to get the steam flowing. This requires you to pump the handle a few times. What the instructions do not say is that you have to continue the pumping action to keep the steam flowing.

Now, this happens automatically as you are mopping the floor, but when you stop to move the mop around furniture (which most of us have on our floors) the steam stops and then you have to pump it several times to get it going again.

Same issue if you want to hold the mop on a stain to give it a while to soften, steam flow stops. So, overall I would not rush to buy this model again, despite it having some good features.

My first steam mop I absolutely love it! I had grown tired of use the old method of cleaning my kitchen floor. I happen to be searching online and ran across this product. After reading the reviews it was like yes I’m getting this mop.

Plus the price included free home delivery. I couldn’t be happier with my choose. No problem reaching corners underneath the cabinets. My floor smells great too when I use one of the Demineralized Water Plus Scents.

I watched a ton of video reviews of this product before I made the purchase and I am so glad I did. This BISSELL PowerFresh Scrubbing and Sanitizing Steam Mop 19405 will clean your floors. It is amazing the amount of dirt this thing will get up off your floors.

I will never go back to a mop or a Swiffer after using this. Rule of thumb if you want it to last and that is only use distilled water as instructions say and never put anything in the water. You can’t put essential oils in the water this will break it down.

If you want scents then Bissell makes scent discs that go in a pouch inside of the cloths you attach to the base and they make scented water specifically made so it doesn’t ruin the machine. In all one of the best purchases, I have made.

I love it. Way better than previous steam mops I’ve owned. I like that the wster container is removable. Makes it super easy to fill and empty. Really love the adjustable steam options and the scrub brush on back.

It’s awesome for that extra boost to get up those stubborn spots. Another really nice feature is the very long cord. So nice to be able to cover more area before having to change plug outlets.

First off I have never used a steam mop before, I did my research not only text info but YouTube as well. I thought I was ready to take the plunge on the steam mop. My tile grout doesn’t look so pretty and it’s only 8 months old and I was trying every type of mop nothing worked.

I had such high hopes for this. I also figured go with the one that is a bit pricey you get what you pay for type of thing. I was wrong. I cleaned up a test area filled the tank and waited for the heat up.

And tested it out. I did not like how you have to remove the cover to use the other side when it looks like you scan swivel it to the other side nope doesn’t work. I didn’t like the amount of steam that was coming out when on high.

Didn’t seem like enough to be considered high. The pad does not pick up dirt that well. It doesn’t scrub the stuff off the grout. I ended up returning this because of the fact steam would go for a second and then stop to re heat up every few seconds I felt like one room would take me all day to clean.

The pad didn’t do its job. I went and got the other shark steam mop the basic one that you pump I used that one over what the other one did and with in a second that grout was clean. I don’t mind the pump to steam.

It steams a thousand times more and actually cleans the new one I got did all of the floor in more than half the time the other. Currently the new one I got is less than 60 dollars.

With Covid19 and the heightened concern about cleanliness, I got this Shark Professional Steam Pocket Mop. And WOW!!! What results did I see!! I have been using that other spinning rinse mop and bucket you see everywhere and I thought I was getting a good clean BUT was I so so wrong.

After using my usual spinner mop to clean the hard flooring surfaces of my house, I came back and used this Shark Professional Steam Pocket Mop. I could not believe the level of dirt that the spinner mop left behind as the dual sided cleaning pads where so soiled.

I also like that this Shark Steam Mop has a swiveling head that allows you to flip to the clean side of the dual sided mop pad. I found the water reservoir to be of good size that allowed me to clean a large portion of my house before needing refilling.

The GOOD: I live with a husband, 2 kids and two cats, so it gets messy in our house! The Shark does clean very well. It also cuts cleaning time down of about 800 square feet of tile kitchen/breakfast nook, 2 hallways, bathroom and walk-in pantry to about 20-30 mins, when previously it took over an hour with a mop and bucket.

Can’t beat that! It means I clean more often to keep the dirt down. I don’t use the Shark mop on my hardwood at all. The BAD: The worst part is that the mop doesn’t stand up on its own! It’s incredibly annoying and if I don’t prop it right it slams to the ground.

I have never owned a steam mop so maybe this is obvious to some, but it makes it really tricky to fill the reservoir as well as switching out the pads during cleaning. I bought extra pads, it comes with two double sided pocket pads, but that’s not enough for my area.

It kind of stinks when it’s running, like an industrial plastic smell. I think the smell is coming from the reservoir. I can’t figure out how to get the smell out since it’s advised not to put in cleaner or vinegar into the reservoir.

I hope this products lasts but I wont be buying a Shark mop again and I don’t think I can recommend it. I bought it full priced too, so I’m disappointed.

I have an older Steam and Spray that finally quit. I immediately set out to replace it only to find this new and HORRIBLE design. As a healthcare worker taking care of an elderly parent, the disposable Sani pads are a MUST.

This new design makes that impossible. Bathroom floors are a petri dish of fecal matter, urine and sometimes vomit. There is no way on earth I would ever put a dirty mop pad that has cleaned the bathroom floor into the same washing machine that cleans my pillow cases and dish towels.

There is not enough bleach on earth to make that sanitary. I’ve been a Shark devotee for ages, but this is a deal breaker. You would think that someone there would have the awareness to bring back a design that uses Sani pads, especially in the middle of a pandemic.

Shark just lost a long time customer. Please hire a design team that actually has experience cleaning a house.

THe item itself is superb. Works great, especially if something has stuck and dried onto the floor. But Walmart sucks at packaging. This was delivered in the original Steam mop package. By the time it arrived it was in pretty bad shape.

I gasped thinking it may have damaged something inside the box. Nothing was damaged inside. It is possible that the box was already compromised when loaded, cannot be sure of that. But the Shark steamp mop RoCkS!.

I’ve owned this mop for over a year now and every time I use it I like it more. It’s well made and well thought out. The mop cloth is a non touch remove and the mechanism is first rate. The swivel head is as good as my Miele vacuum and is easy to manipulate and reaches into every crevice.

It will mop well in a straight line but with a slight twist of the circular handle it will move left or right without effort. When it comes to access under chairs, sofas etc. it gets right in there, even when there is only a few inches clearance.

The water container is easy to fill and large enough to clean a really large room or a small apartment so not so large you have to keep emptying it after each clean. The cable storage is great and the jet of extra steam is easy to actuate with just a flip of the mop.

I love it. I’ve only used it with water but I’d like to try to use a cleaning agent mixed with the water in the tank but I’m going to check with customer services for advice. It still cleans well with just water in the tank and a hand held cleaning spray and with the steam I know I’m getting a sterile clean.

This is the third Bissell 1940 I have purchased. 2 were gifts and one for myself. I would recommend this product to anyone with tile. You will be amazed on the cleaning power and how fast you can be done cleaning.

It will lift dirt you did not even realize was there. Scuff marks are never an issue, grout comes clean and bright, lifts soap scum caused by other cleaning product residue. The cord is long enough to enable you to move freely.

The 3 steam setting allows you to clean according to your dirt issue. I have used the steam to remove pet stains off of rugs with no issues, kids spilled drinks off of furniture. I would not hesitate to purchase again for myself or as another gift.

This has so many good features. I can wash the mop heads and get replacements. It honestly is ready is 30 seconds. Does a fantastic job with cleaning. The best part for me are the fragrance disc. They make the whole house smell clean.

It was one of my pet peeves with other steams, it looked clean, felt clean, but never smelled clean. This does!! Bought one for my Mom and she loves it also.

This is my 2nd Bissell steam cleaner, and it leaves the competitors in their steam! I have cleaned my entire house with this, plus two others. I have used it from the floor to the ceiling in the kitchen, living room, bathroom, and bedrooms.

I’ve used it on my furniture, clothes, dog kennel, my car, and even my swimming pool. I have found some drawbacks with this unit as well. Keep in mind I bought it again after my first one went out. So these drawbacks are worth the inconvenience to me.

The first one is that when using it off the floor mop stick, to be hands-free you have to set it down and it tips over all the time and there is no strap to sling it over your shoulder or attach it to something to stabilize it preventing it from falling over or falling down if your up on a step stool or ladder.

after so many tip-overs and falls it takes a toll on the unit. I believe that this ultimately led to my 2nd issue. The base started to leak and got worse as I used it, and lost the pressure to blow out the steam.

3rd inconvenience is with the steam mop handle. It’s weak where it bends and I highly recommend you get some sturdy tape to wrap around the handle to reinforce it. I used Gorilla Tape. Otherwise, it will break off.

I caught mine in time with it only cracking at that bend. The last thing is while mopping the floor, the lift-away unit will disengage itself if bumped against something. Not all the time but enough.

All in all, again these issues I had experienced with my first one I thought the steam cleaner is worth it. I can’t tell you exactly how much cleaning I did with it, but it was a lot over a 5 year stretch.

I only paid $38 for the mop, so I hopped right on that deal. It does exactly what it’s supposed to do. I have zero complaints about functionality, ease of use, etc. I did however find that they don’t have replacement pads to purchase separately.

It’s been a year since I bought my mop and the only pads I can find are either $42 with no reviews, or ones that don’t fit. I hope I find a replacement pad soon that isn’t the price of a new mop! Because of the difficulty of finding replacement pads, AND the price hike (the mop is like $90 now), I cannot recommend this product.

It was great when it was a deal, but there are far cheaper steam mops.

Overall, this is a good steam mop but I am still searching for the perfect one! This is my fourth steam mop purchase so I have tried several at all different price points and all have their pros and cons.

I LOVE that this one can stand up on its own. One of my other mops lacks this feature and it drives me crazy. This one works quite well in terms of steam production. Tank is easy to fill but its quite small so need to refill often.

Water heats up quickly. The detachable hand held steamer is fairly useless in my opinion so don’t buy this for that option alone. To clean grout the only thing I have had success with is my industrial steamer which cost over $1000.

For the price of this mop you can’t really go wrong if you’re looking for a mop that cleans floors decently at a good price point. Its nice and lightweight which is a huge plus! I would have given this mop a 5 star rating if it didn’t have one incredibly annoying feature-the mop pads are nearly impossible to get off and on!! Bissell.

PLEASE FIX THIS ISSUE!!!!! The mop pads need to be larger and/or more elastic. You have to fight with the mop pads to get them onto the mop head-which is particularly challenging with hot steam. I like to change my mop pads often so I am not moving dirt from one place to another.

I bought 10 mop pads to go with this and I wish I hadn’t because they are just such a pain to get off and on. Also, in between changing them you have to wait for the unit to cool down. If the pros from this unit could be married with the pros of a “genius” competitor’s unit, the perfect steam mop would be born! Bissell please make better quality mop pads so that this unit is more user friendly.

Also, please consider making a disposable pad.

Through the years i have tried almost every floor steamer. This lift off 2 in 1 steamer is the best I’ve used. I rescue senior dogs. Some seniors are incontinent. I use my steamer everyday. During the covid 19 self quarantine mine broke because my daughter put bleach in the water tank.

I couldn’t find this streamer anywhere, everyone was out of stock. I bought another one, different brand, it was ok but didn’t steam and clean the way this one does. Everyday I got more and more anxious waiting for this streamer to be available.

I finally got another one yesterday and I was using it within 10 minutes. Since this steamer is a really good price I ordered a second one that should be delivered today. Now I’ll have 3 steamers, 2 of this bissell steamer and the one off brand I bought when I was desperate.

I showed my daughter that I have a spray bottle of bleach and water that i spray the grout lines with then steam to not put bleach in the water tank. Thank you Bissell for making products, especially this steamer for heavy user people like me that have lots of rescue dogs that go through my house.

Shark® Professional Steam Pocket® mop for hard floors, deep cleaning, and sanitization, SE460. I’ve always wanted one for I have kids running in and out from outside playing and pets inside the home.

So I’d like to try and keep a nice clean and sanitized home for the kids! It was very simple to put together and instructions were a breeze to read through. It has two settings (either “Dust” or “Mop”), I prefer the mop setting which is suitable for my floors, and is great at not only steam cleaning the floors, but sanitizing them too.

The dust option is good for light cleaning. The absolute beauty of this steam mop and one feature that really appeals to me is that there are no chemicals involved in the process at all, which is wonderful with having kids and pets around you just only need water.

I am using distilled water as it’s recommended by the manufacturer to help prevent any excessive calcium build-up. Which is great, means I can use it for a long time and don’t have to worry about it messing up soon! The height is perfect for myself.

I do not suffer any discomfort when using it. It gets any and everywhere in a few swipes, easy to maneuver around and very lightweight! These pads are very easy to attach and to remove best thing is that you can use both sides and they are washable! The whole thing is very simple and easy to keep clean.

The long cord I’m absolutely in love with, it means you don’t have to keep plugging in and unplugging it in order to reach different areas. I love the feeling of clean after using it and long may it continue.

I absolutely highly recommend the Shark® Professional Steam Pocket® mop to any and everyone.

I’m giving 2. 5 stars because I don’t own one of these machines and can’t give a rave review or a poor review. So, middle of the road for me. The problem I’m having is that 99. 9% of the reviews say, “[This review was collected as part of a promotion.

]” I don’t want to know what the people who were given a machine, or a great deal on the machine so that they could give “positive” reviews, have to think about the machine. I want to hear from those that didn’t get a free machine or a severely discounted machine and, thus, have no reason to feel obligated to give a rave review.

Let us poor people who have spent the money, whatever price it was, and have used it, be the ones to give the “honest” reviews. I will not buy this machine based on the glowing reviews that say it was part of a promotion.

Will continue to do my research and read honest reviews elsewhere before deciding which machine to buy and from what brand name company as well.

This is my second Vax cleaner and is not as good as the first. Firstly, before use, wash the fabric mop head or it won’t dry the floor. The on/off switch is a dial on the front of the water tank which isn’t a problem but once at temperature, the steam starts belching out, my first had a lever on the handle to control the release of the steam.

Also, the tank isn’t removable. Then there’s the cord storage, there is little space between where the cord connects to the cleaner and where the cord wraps so makes it annoying when trying to wrap up the cord.

The cleaner doesn’t stand up by itself, which is also annoying. On the up side, it cleans just as well as my last one and is a lot lighter. However, I won’t be rushing to buy another one when this one breaks down.

Have had this for a few days and tried all the different attachments, and am disappointed in some aspects but fairly pleased with others. As a floor cleaner, it is very good, easy to use, quick and efficient.

Other bits aren’t so good. I really got it to clean my bathroom and it has not really lived up to my hopes. Wouldn’t get the mould off the ceiling and the grouting tool was pretty useless. It says in the leaflet that it is very good for removing scum from baths, this is not true.

The squeegee tool is also pretty rubbis, it is extremely difficult to get it on so that it doesn’t keep falling off. Also leaves water marks on the glass so you may as well just use normal window cleaning spray.

The main point to note is that the cleaner basically loosens dirt, rather than actually cleaning, so you still have to clean afterwards. Which makes it better for things like ovens, where blasting it with steam first makes the cleaning much easier than scrubbing away with an oven cleaner.

Similarly lime scale around taps and sinks, loosened it all up so I just had to wipe away. All in all if I had paid full price I would be sending it back, but with a big discount it’s just about worth having.

Purchased this at beginning of the month but truthfully put it to the test the other day. Brilliant and adaptable. Can be used as a floor steamer which is great for cleaning floor tiles. My old steam mop use to leave the floor quite wet and slippery.

not this one. In just a few minutes the floor is dry. Magic! Not only is it a brilliant floor cleaner but with a few alterations it is an easy to use hand held steam cleaner with a choice of add ons nosel which blasts any stubborn grime but you can add brushes to the end to help get in those nasty ridges round taps, shower heads and toilets.

Leave them looking like new. If I had to grumble about anything the attachment for cleaning wall tiles was a disappointment as it didn’t stay on. Unless I was having a senior moment it didn’t seem to ‘click’ into place.

What did surprise me was the length of electrical cord. Thought I’d need an extension lead to reach to bathroom. no need it was amble to clean all 3 toilets and bathroom areas. Over all well pleased with the product and stores away easily.
