Enjoyed two days on the mountain in near zero temperatures. The jacket kept me warm, was flexible and moved with me whether I was skiing or riding the lifts. The color is a beautiful, vibrant blue and helped me be visible even in snowy conditions.

The inside pocket of the jacket kept my phone warm and dry. And the zippered vents on the arms were a nice bonus feature. All in all a standout jacket!.

I like this jacket. but I have a couple of slight issues. 1) the zipper pull is hard to close and I struggle to align it several times and it kept opening up. 2) the hands inner lining is great however it is so tight I can barely put my hand through the opening.

Overall, it kept me warm on the 10 degree weather. All the pockets are functional.

I purchased the Women’s Frontera Jacket for a long weekend of skiing in Colorado and was extremely pleased with the quality of the jacket! It was very warm and water proof and I was never cold once (temps were about 30 degrees all weekend).

In terms of sizing, I’m usually an 8-10 and went with the Large. It was slightly roomy on me which is what I prefer. It was very comfortable to wear all weekend! The only slight negative is the zipper.

It was a little sticky at times. My husband bought the Men’s version of the coat (different name) and he did have an issue with his zipper where it was splitting from the bottom. He liked the coat otherwise.

Overall this jacket was a pleasant surprise, great look, good quality, warm, and true to size! I am 5?6? 155lbs and a large fits me with quite a bit of room for layering and movement. The only reason for 4 and not 5 out of 5 stars is the ski pass pocket on the sleeve is just a bit too far to the inside of the sleeve for scanners to easily read and the quality of the taped zippers is questionable, time will tell!.

Very nice and comfy jacket for outdoor activities in the snow. I like the colors, functionality and the warmth. It keeps the temperature, but is not too bulky. I like it a lot! Planning to replace the cheap looking faux fur though ;).

Used my jacket for the first time this past weekend snowboarding in Keystone. It has a lot of pockets which is important to me and kept me warm which is another highly rated factor. I bought a medium and it fits true to size.

I’m a fit 131 lbs. , 5’6″ with DD’s.

Great jacket! Bright colors. Bought this for my 11 year old daughter to wear for next ski season. It is size XL so it is a little big for her. Wasn’t sure of what size to get but would have rather purchased bigger so she can grow into it.

My daughter wears this snowboarding. Great features. We like the removable hood, nice pockets. Warm but light weight. Don’t know how it holds up to wet weather. We live on the East Coast so hopefully we get more snow than rain this year.

This is the fifth pair of Denim and Co. pants I have received that are too big! What is going on with quality control. I had ordered two more colors before receiving the gray which just arrived and are huge and measured larger than measurements stated from top down to knees, so cancelled the other two.

Gary, you need to address this situation with somebody. I had received a pair of pants awhile back, sizing was fine so ordered two more pair but had thrown away packaging. Washed, tried on, huge, also measured larger than stated so am stuck with only wearing as lounge pants.

I do not know what is happening with sizing with many brands. Another brand just arrived with same off sizing. I do not need all this aggravation of rewrapping and returning items. I have bought same size D& C pants in same size for many, many years with only occasional issue but recently I note, I am not only one experiencing same issues.

Wow, I just can’t say enough about this skirt! I wear a lot of skirts and will get a lot of use out of this one. It’s kind of between a pencil and A-line style shape. Very slimming and flattering, not too full and not body hugging.

Super soft material. It’s more plush than a dressy velvet if that makes sense, yet adds no bulk at all. I wear size 10 in dept store sizing. Took a chance ordering size small and it fits perfectly. Love the midi length! Just wish it came in more neutral options like grey or winter white.

It’s a steal at this price, but unfortunately being clearance I guess more color options won’t be offered. Too bad. I sure hope Denim and co will offer skirts with this same shape in the future! Highly recommend, super happy I bought this!.

These are a pretty shade. They look a little blue online but they are silvery grey. They are soft. I tried them on. I lean more toward medium in QVC pants but got the small. They fit but because of the fabric the entire back of the pants shows wrinkled folds like pants get when they are too clingy.

I thought maybe they were just too long ( I’m 5’3”) so I folded a big cuff to see. Still folds everywhere on the back and they aren’t tight and they were folded to my length. I would never wear these.

Terrible look. I’m not a huge velour fan anyway. 2 stars for the color.

I don’t ski or snowboard, I got this for shoveling and snowblowing/plowing on my tractor while it’s snowing. I had to get a long jacket because when I sit on my tractor, all my other jackets ride up in the back and wet snow hits my lower back, and it also drips down the seat.

For this particular problem I decided to hit up the ski world because I know the gear would be good for it. It is true. This jacket keeps me completely warm and dry while out in heavy snow (upstate NY) and the length of the jacket prevents a cold wet lower back.

It was a little too warm for shoveling but perfect for the tractor which is less physical work. The hood is very large and kept my whole head dry, I think it would easily go over a helmet. The fuzzy stuff around the collar was not that good for going out in falling snow.

I didn’t have it zipped up all the way and as soon as I walked out into the snow the fuzzy stuff collected snowflakes and was cold and wet (not water repellent). If it’s not snowing it’s not a problem.

I got the brown color and love it. I love all the pockets especially the stretchy mesh ones on the inside because I was able to throw my phone in there and easily access it even with gloves on. I decided to write a review because I am larger than all the other reviewers and am using this for a different purpose than it was intended for.

It is a good winter jacket, you don’t have to be doing snow sports.

I love how long this coat is–the extra length really warms my hip/thigh area. Roomy enough for additional layers underneath but you can cinch the waist for a nicer look. I also love the many different pockets and other cool add ons like sleeve extenders with thumb holes and snow skirt/waist gaiter.

The sherpa collar is my favorite thing. I’m usually a size 4-6 womens and the small fits well. Decently warm but would recommend additional layers if very cold out. Shipping was quick! Was excited to find it in a discontinued color.

This jacket is awesome. Perfect in heavy snow and cold weather. No issues at all with warmth and keeping dry. It may be a little too warm on the mountain when the sun is out but still does a great job of keeping you comfortable while enjoying the outdoors.

My one suggestion would be that there would be pocket openings on the sides of the two zip up pouch pockets in the front but other than that, lots of pockets with zippers to keep snacks, ID and money handy without having to carry a bag.

So glad I made this purchase.

Wore this jacket yesterday at Sunlight Mountain in Colorado with temps at a hight of 12F, high winds at the peak and some light snow. NO PROBLEM in my Rossignol. With proper layering, this coat kept me warm.

Couldn’t test waterproof ratings since everything on the mountain was frozen, but the high zipper and large hood, wrist and waist gaiters made a difference today between a fun 4 hours on the slopes and a miserable time.

I can complain about my Burton gloves not protecting my finger tips from freezing, but can say anything bad about this jacket. Not having an outside breast pocket impacted me not one bit since my ski pants had adequate storage, so if warmth without the bulk is your primary need, get this coat.

We ordered this coat for my wife as an additional Christmas present. My wife wears woman’s size XL and she has many Columbia clothing items she’s acquired over the past 3 years in that size. She has several Columbia coats & jackets in XL, so we figured this one would fit just fine.

We both read many reviews prior to ordering. The color she wanted sold out 2 days after I ordered it. We got our order for the Bright Geranium color placed just in time. The coat arrived yesterday and much to her disappointment, the size XL did not fit her from waist down.

She could not zip it up. Columbia has a great return policy, so she got online to return and get a replacement jacket in the next largest size, XXL. But that color was sold out in XXL. So, she quickly picked her next favorite color & placed the order.

The Ava Alpine Insulated Jacket is a beautiful coat. Be cautious on sizing. We both have a large wardrobe of Columbia clothing in our closets & dresser drawers. We never expected anything not to fit as perfect as our prior purchases from Columbia.

The replacement jacket may not be the color she originally ordered, but I know she’ll love it just as much now that winter has finally arrived.

This jacket was my first purchase with Columbia and the color was what really grabbed me. I was looking for a coat that was more of all around winter coat, good for playing outside with kids and the occasional ski trip.

I love the feel of the jacket, its warm but not too thick and the fit is very flattering. That being said size up one size. I wear larges or mediums in most brands but this coat was something else to fit the right fit.

The large fit so well in the shoulders and the arms and even across the chest but I could not for the life of me get it to zip at the hips. When sized up to the XL everything was just a bit bigger but it did zip! I have since ordered more clothing from Columbia and the other coats and shirts I have purchased all fit in size large and for reference a pair of pants I ordered from Columbia are a size 12.

This is my 1st time purchasing a coat by Columbia & I’m obsessed! It’s very comfortable & so warm!! It’s super flexible & not bulky at all. It also has lots of pockets which is awesome! The cuffs are super soft and so comfortable.

Never had anything like it before. It’s nice and snug so no wind can get up the sleeves. I’m use to getting a big puffy down coat but I didn’t want a “big” coat like that & wanted to try something different.

I know it said that this coat was for skiing ⛷ or a coat for winter outdoor activities but I purchased it as a regular winter ❄️ coat & I’m so glad I did! Definitely would recommend this coat!! I am 5’3” & 145lbs & ordered a Medium.

Love all the pockets! The outside chest pocket keeps my phone warm enough. The longer length with the 2-way zipper covers my butt for more warmth. Love the snow-skirt that snaps on, and the loose but warm zip-up collar, and the neon hood.

It fits well, even with all my layers and pocket-stuffers. I get lots of compliments on this coat. At first I struggled to zip it — like a little kid! I’ve noticed that’s a universal problem with other Helly Henson coats too.

The zipper trick is, before inserting the zipper, you have to slide down the bottom part of the zipper -holder down to as far as it can go. This is because it’s a 2-way zipper– so the holder part tends to slide up a smidge every time you unzip your coat.

Just push it back down to the hemline, then insert zipper–no more zipper struggles!.

Was looking for new hooded shell for lift-access skiing. Bought a bunch to try on at home with layers, pants, and helmet. Almost kept this one, but it was just a litttttle too thick. I prefer to layer up/down depending upon weather.

Great helmet-sized hood, and love the left forearm lift pass pocket. I’ve had two shells in 30 years, and next one needs to be perfect. This and the Patagonia Untracked came close. Great shell but returned.

This shell is fantastically well made, The fit and rage of motion are very comfortable with and without layers on. But it lacks inner pockets, a feature i have had on other Helly jackets and it is sorely missed.

1. ) life pocket for phone electronics the problem with this pocket is two fold. first, it is on the outside of the jacket, I prefer to keep my electronics on the inside of the jacket, where they are better protected from the elements, or impacts, and if you need to access it, you have the interior of the jacket itself to catch it if you fumble.

Secondly, this pocket is too small. if you are only going to have 1 pocket, inside or out on the chest of the jacket, it needs to be a more practical size. as it is it is limited to a phone size, Also, unlike other HH jackets, you cannot pass headphone wires through the inside of the jacket.

2. ) no chest pockets. the Ridge’s lower pockets and side pockets are every well thought out and comfortable, but still i would like some sort of pocket on the chest for some smaller items. 3. ) zippable inside chest pockets.

these are so practical, from storing phone or wallets, or anything you want to keep close to you and protected from the elements, they are what i consider a feature so standard in any jacket, and very other Helly Hansen jacket i have owned before, i was shocked it had none.

this should be a standard feature on every jacket. 4. ) Ski Pass pocket, these pockets are handy, but still use optically scanned passes. l’d love to see an option for a key ring clip so you could attack a pass or a lanyard with your pass to it.

The jacket is excellent, but the lack of pockets where I would want them keeps me from loving it.

I really wanted to love this super cute jacket. I liked the idea of the separate fleece jacket despite the reviews about the sleeves twisting. I think if there were thumb holes, that issue would be solved- which is a real issue.

I ended up returning this jacket because it was simply not warm enough. I tested it by standing in backyard when it was 27* with about a 12kt breeze. After about 10min my arms were getting cold. I could feel the cold seeping in.

When I turned my back to the wind, I felt cold on my upper back and started tensing up. I was wearing a performance base layer turtleneck with a very heavy wool/cashmere sweater underneath. More than I would wear normally wear on the hill.

I run medium- not cold, not hot, when skiing. Great for warmer temps, maybe 35* and above, or places that have heavy sun heat- not the slopes in the northeast.

I bought this because I liked the True Black Ubuda print without doing a deep dive on features. It is not as functional as my Burton Lelah jacket, which has a soft-lined and insulated hood with faux fur lining + hand warmer pockets (accessible from sides as most jackets are and lined in fleece or similar fabric).

This jacket has a pretty useless and un-inviting hood. The pockets are only accessible from the top and are not lined at all. The jacket in general feels less warm than my other one despite having the same grams of fill.

I also do not like the cuffs. The sleeves are a bit long (and I’m 5’7″), and they have that insert with thumbholes attached that just gets in the way of liners and real gloves. I rolled that part up around the cuff to get it out of the way.

Other than these things, I like the jacket. On sizing, this fits more true to size than other Roxy jackets. Others run small, this runs about what you’d expect based on what you wear elsewhere.

So far I really like this jacket! The amount of pockets is great and I like the added security of zippers, Velcro, and snap buttons. The attachments to under bibs/pants are definitely an added bonus.

I’ve only worn it a couple times so far but I love that it is lightweight while still able to keep me warm. The reason I gave it 4/5 stars is the color; I purchased the Parchment Kalanai and the background of the jacket in the pictures appeared to be white.

I did not realize until I received the jacket (at the time of purchase there were no reviews) that it is more of a base with a little white. I did keep it anyway because I liked the overall pattern of the jacket and all of its other qualities.

The first time I used my jacket, it was for blocking the wind at above 2000m altitude. It was fantastic and I thought I had made a right purchase. Today, it was raining and I decided to wear the jacket out for a walk in the rain.

To my extreme disappointment, the rain had soaked through within the first 40 minutes of my walk. There were dark patches on the hood, shoulders, sleeves, and front of the jacket. The insides of the pockets were damp as well.

Another 30 minutes in, my t-shirt underneath became damp. Rain was also being diverted into the front of the jacket when fully zipped. I’m looking back at the rainfall record from this morning (Singapore, 18 Sep 2022, 9am thereabout), it was around 5 to 5.

5mm per hour. For the price of SGD 243, this is definitely not what I’d expected. at least not on the first rain outing. nor on my second time wearing it. I bought it only less than 2 months ago and hanged it on a hanger for storage.

Other than the colour, good fit, windproof, and easy packing, the jacket has not met the requirement of being a rain jacket. I will not be confident to bring it for overseas hiking in rainy conditions.

Ever want to find the designer of a garment and hug them? I did, in a freak late-spring sleet storm in the Sierra Nevada, my trial run for this jacket. There were 55+mph gusts carrying diagonal sleet, in frigid temperatures.

This shell held up like a bivvy sack! I had intended it only as my three-season (OK, I mean summer mostly) “just in case” rain shell. It performed like a garment selling for five times the price. This was a bargain – even without the “pro” discount.

There are other shell choices that feature what I call “$olutions looking for a problem. ” The only one that matters is the pitted zips, a necessity for temperature regulation and warmth. They kept me from sweating my base layers and getting cold from the inside out.

And there was NO clammy condensation inside the shell. Whoever you are, nice job on nailing a basic shell that matches the performance of $$$$$ alternatives that don’t live up to the hype (sorrynotsorry, dinosaur-bird!).

This can easily be the “one” shell for about 99% of your backpacking, including high altitudes.

As a climbing guide and university instructor, I needed a rain jacket that would serve me well whether I was walking to the classroom or leading overnight backpacking and climbing trips with my students and clients.

Insert the Stormline Stretch Rain Shell. It looks great, keeps me dry, dumps heat very well, and allows me a lot of freedom in my movement due to the stretchiness of the material. I really could not be happier with it to be honest.

For the environment that I live in, it serves me perfectly. As for sizing, I float between a Large and an XL, so I ended up going with the XL. It’s a little big for me when I just have a T-shirt on, but when I’m layered up.

it fits perfectly! I will be purchasing a size Large soon for those rainy summer days when I don’t have any other layers on. I can’t wait to try another color out too. I love the Tundra color, which is what I purchased my jacket in.

but I’m looking forward to trying either Captain or Sulphur next!.

I used this ski coat in Keystone, CO during Christmas break. Temps were 15 degrees average. Wore Merino base layer, Moncler light puffer for mid-layer and neck gator. Was very warm skiing all day. Definitely a cute, ‘bubblegum pink’ jacket.

Great coat for the money as many other ski coats can cost twice as much. Also, pocket on the sleeve for ski pass and several other pockets inside for klee-nex, chapstick, money etc.

I have been looking for a functional, not over-priced insulated ski jacket to keep me warm on those extra cold and windy days while on the lift. This jacket has a feminine fit, yet roomy enough for a heavy base layer, large enough hood to fit over my helmet, pockets in all the right places, and I do not feel any cold air penetrate through the jacket.

It is made very well. This is my first Flyow purchase and definitely will not be my last. I did not find it to be too long as some other reviewers posted. It comes to my upper thigh and covers my backside.

I am 5’5″ 125 pounds and the small was perfect.

Has a bit of a european cut with longer sleeves. Being tall, this is a blessing. I considered the compatible bibs but ended up passing on them due to the cost. The powder skirt snaps in tight enough so this setup works great.

I purchased by the size chart and it lead me well. Its lightweight, warm, and perfect for a solid day out. Hood is plenty big for the helmet when needed. I’ve been putting it through a real good workout, and after two seasons beating on the jacket, minor tears, totally my fault.

have been easy to repair. The light teal on the inside pocket has gotten dirty and it shows but that’s minor. I would recommend this to anyone.

I love Burton products. I think I bought a random lemon. I’ve only worn it a few times and washed it 1x in cold water and hung it dry. When I am in rain or snow, it absorbs water and takes DAYS to dry out, not to mention becomes heavy.

When it’s dry out, it absorbs my sweat (gross) and takes a couple days to dry. Fortunately I stayed warm regardless but I know their products shouldn’t be doing it that. Given the other reviews I assume this jacket is just a lemon.

Bought this coat for a trip to freezing lake placid and it was perfect! Great for adding layers and cozy and comfortable. Ordered a bunch of coats and this the one I kept. Great fit. Sleeves are long but I am short and they are easy enough to cuff once.

Literally obsessed with this jacket. Amazing quality and can keep lighter or layer for heat. I’m 5’8″ and 150. The large was perfect. A hard to find jacket that have long enough arms and cover the booty but this jacket does it all! And it’s so cute!.

The jacket started melting !! the outer part of the Jacket has become sticky like someone poured suger syrup on it!!! I don’t exactly know what caused this !! I am guessing it gets spoiled as it was stored in cupboard during the summer of west bengal and it is a ski jacket so supposed to be worn jn cold climate.

Ideally it should not spoil that way as summer eventually comes at every place doesn’t it? So its a one time wear!!!.

Say bye to bulky and uncomfortable ski jackets. The wedze downhill skii jacket, maximize my comfort both on and off the mountains. It’s warm, super comfortable, fits great, and has 4 pockets With that great price do come a few downsides, which I don’t find that it doesn’t include attachable or detachable hoody.

Otherwise, it’s a very good jacket in such affordable price range.

Bought at a ridiculously discounted price, as an impulse buy. Warm, slim fit, no hood, limited number of pockets. Fine as a winter coat for walks etc, but I don’t think I’ll be using it on the pistes.

I bought this jacket sight unseen. I was not really worried about the quality of the product but was a bit concerned after reading reviews pointing how much larger than expected it was. It does fit a bit bigger than expected, but that is alright; it just means I can wear more layers under it.

I was not really sure what to expect insulation-wise as I have other jackets that have an inner layer and an outer layer (with some insulation). This jacket has zero insulation. Again, that was more a surprise to me because I didn’t get to try it out at the store (pandemic times.

). It does an excellent job at keeping moisture out and I suspect it would work rather well as a rain jacket. The build quality is impeccable (as expected) and I do find that it looks rather nice on.

I get compliments on the look of the jacket and how nice it feels to the touch. Mine is red in colour and it is a bit of a departure for me as I tend to prefer dark colours, but I love it. My wife and kids can see me from a mile away and it is a lovely shade of red.

I am glad I ordered it because it is unique. I have had the jacket for 2 months that include several trips to the local tobogganing spot with my kids and paired with a down base layer it was perfect.

Roomy enough and stretchy enough to never get in the way. It is perfect for snow sports. I am going to get my wife one as well.

Very waterproof and wind proof. Bought this coat because it was a cheaper option to full Goretex. I was initially worried about it’s abilities to compare to full Goretex but it does!! Cuts the wind great (what I was wanting the most) very water proof.

Bought in xs and S, both fit well (I’m normally a small as it is) kept the S because it will give more room for more layers if needed. Coat is very comfortable and seems pretty breathable, has great pit zips if you need more airflow.

Also looks really good, love the blue on blue color scheme.

Christmas gift for my 33 year old son who loves Patagonia. He had the sweater jacket in poor condition but still working so figured this could later over and keep him warm and dry in MA winter. He LOVES it! Almost every day he tells me how happy he is with it.

He loves that it is a bit longer length keeping his back warm, the ability of the fabric to keep him dry, and little things like the soft material at the spot where the zipper comes to the top on your chin, and the fact that the material is not stiff.

Love it, size right on, light pink like I wanted!

I’ve had the jacket for 2 months now and absolutely love it! I needed a new durable, versatile waterproof shell that could function just as well in the city as it does on the slopes, and I am not disappointed.

I heard a few reviews saying the jacket feels a heavy but I would have to disagree. Of course, depending on the other jackets you compare it to, this jacket is a few grams heavier however, considering the durable, soft and supple, and substantial feeling of the face fabric I would argue it feels very robust compared to other lighter jackets.

It truly feels like one burly, do it all jacket that I am certain wouldn’t break a sweat in the backcountry brushing up against trees or branches. What I love is just how veritable this jacket is. You can wear it skiing and then it works just as well around town.

Its Gore-tex waterproof membrane works very well as does a great job and keeping you dry even when conditions get very wet. One thing to note is that the jacket does “wet-out” after being exposed to a heavy downpour for a substantial length of time (20+ minutes).

The moisture never soaks through but the jacket feels substantially heavier and less pleasant to wear. I know this is common with many waterproof jackets, and it was never really a problem for me as it dries very quickly but I thought I would mention it.

Breathability is also adequate. It doesn’t get clammy when building up a sweat but you can feel some moisture retained on the inside. As someone who is of an average build, 80kg, and 6ft, I purchased the size medium and found the fit to be perfect.

It is not too trim but definitely not baggy or loose. It still retains plenty of space to layer underneath (even 3+ layers). The length I found perfect for any daily activity as well as skiing and the drop-back hem is excellent.

The hood is helmet-compatible but even when not wearing a helmet I haven’t found it to be too large and obtrusive; the extra room and laminated brim prevents water from dripping down on your face especially when it’s windy.

The hood is also quite adjustable so it’s pretty easy to get the desired fit. The only thing I would like to see improved is removing and replacing the flap over the reverse coil zipper under the armpits with a waterproof zipper instead, as the flap often gets in the way when moving your arms or with ski/trekking poles and feels you’re always tugging or pulling on something.

Overall, I would highly recommend this jacket if you’re looking for a highly tough and rugged jacket that works just as well day-to-day as it does in the backcountry, during colder conditions such as in the fall or winter with a mid-layer beneath.

However, if you’re primarily looking for a spring or lightweight jacket that has a trim fit, outstanding breathability, and a thicker face fabric isn’t too important, other jackets may be a better choice.

I bought this jacket in July of 2020. Everything seemed fine. In the fall, I finally use it when it’s raining, and it turns out the thing isn’t waterproof. I went to my local Patagonia outlet and they helped me exchange it, no problem.

It’s been about a year since the exchange, and my second one is no longer waterproof. There was a torrential downpour yesterday. After 20 minutes walking around in the rain, I was soaked. I haven’t washed it with regular detergent.

I know that degrades the Gore Tex, so don’t know what’s going on. I’m pretty choked especially considering the price point. We’re in for another 10 days of intense rain, and I’m not sure what I’m going to do.

This is very lightweight and easy to pack. I needed a water resistant shell to go over my light Patagonia puffer jacket which I was wearing in the rain while birdwatching. This is comfortable and I ordered a size up, as suggested, so I can wear the puffer underneath.

I love the bill on the hood and many large pockets. This is better than any raincoat I’ve ever had! I got the red which is a beautiful almost burgundy color. My husband wants one too. Fortunately REI has one on sale!.

I finally had a chance to take Environ jacket out for a spin at Mammoth. I was terrified when this arrived as I’ve always been an insulated jacket type of guy. The idea of dropping big cash on just a shell was daunting but I can say that I’m very happy with it.

I was lucky enough to get some variation in weather conditions over the trip to Mammoth: whipping cold winds, sunshine, etc. It’s still not the East Coast or Canada so I wasn’t in sub-zero, storm conditions but this held up so well it made me a believer in the shell jacket.

I still need some practice getting the layers right but I could tell this jacket was extremely versatile. Great protection from the wind and solid construction like nothing else I’ve seen. The vents are also placed in a perfect location that allows easy opening and closing.

Sometimes it’s just the little things that stand out. It also just looks great. Very clean and solid looking. The sizing also leaves plenty of room for layering so I would order true to size. What would I change? I like the idea of the sleeve pass pocket so I would definitely add that.

And it is a bit expensive given that you’ll have to buy good layers as well. Otherwise I’m quite happy so far.

I recently purchased the Doublecharge jacket to replace a 10 year old Patagonia insulated ski jacket. The old jacket was durable and handled snow and wet weather well, but the torso and sleeves were too long for me.

I think it’s a fit model thing at Patagonia that torso and sleeves are too long for people who think they are of medium stature. In comparison, the Stio Doublecharge: a) Has a torso and sleeve length that’s appropriate for my size (5’8”, 160 pounds) b) Weighs noticeably less than the old jacket; c) Moves comfortably with me and breaths well when I’m active; d) Measures up expectations in terms of water repellency and warmth for an Alpine ski jacket.

I bought this jacket late in the season, so am a bit short of ski time on the mountain, but it’s been a cold and wet spring in Wisconsin, where I live. I’ve found the Doublecharge jacket to be quite comfortable in a broad range of conditions.

I would certainly recommend the jacket.

There are ski jackets, and then there is this jacket. This is, like, the Night King of Ski jackets. (Like the dude is North of the Wall, wearing a sleeveless hoodie—spoiler alert it was made by Stio.

) Compared to some of my previous ski jackets (Columbia, Patagonia) what I love is that it has the combo of being surprisingly thin (I don’t feel like a marshmallow puff) and incredibly warm. The outer layer is super durable, plenty of zips to open if you get warm.

The first time I used it, I had three layers on underneath (PTSD from previous jackets), and ended up just wearing a t-shirt underneath, it was that warm. The thumb holes are nice (although Apparently my wrists aren’t very long, so I just unhook my thumbs when I have gloves on otherwise feels to snug.

) Hoodie fits perfect over the ski helmet. Ample pockets for storage. Seriously I don’t foresee myself ever having to buy a new jacket. This thing rocks!! 🤙.

Super functional design that’s great for year-round use. I purchased this primarily as a snowboarding layer and am yet to take it to the mountain, but so far it has excellent wind & water protection (which I tested out in some intense coastal storms.

) The interior snow belt is sleek, so it’s not in the way the rest of the time, and I really like the pocket placements, (the shoulder slot is nice for lift passes. ) All the zippers are super high-quality, too – almost to the point of being a little stiff, but nice in that they force you to consciously close everything all the way.

Two things worth noting: 1) This shell shell is definitely on the longer side – great for tall people and/or if you have a long torso like me and want hip/seat coverage, but I could see it being potentially restrictive on a petite frame.

2) The hood is super spacious and roomy because it’s meant to accommodate snow helmets – meaning in windy situations, it has a tendency to “kite” up and blow off. But again, not as much of an issue if you’re wearing a helmet/beanie/hoodie underneath.

But really: the quality of the jacket can’t be overstressed. Perfect stitching, the front zip is super water-tight, GOR-TEX is very durable but still pliable/not stiff. For that price, I went over the jacket with a fine-tooth comb and it is EXTREMELY well-made.

And speaking of the price: Patagonia offers the single best warranty protection out there on all their products – beyond evo’s already-generous return & exchange policy. It might seem a little steep up front, but truly: it’s an investment in your outdoor head arsenal that will more than pay for itself over the years.

I love this jacket so much I have 2 now! All the pockets are in the perfect spots and the zippers have a great seal on them. I also love how the wrist cuffs are not cinched and have Velcro to adjust the fit making it easy to slide your gloves off and on.

Only thing I would want different is having 1 pull that adjusts the hood all around instead of 3 different ones. But that’s not enough for me to not give this jacket 5 star. The fit is also awesome for us plus size ladies.

It’s very true to size and I rock the XL which is what I normally wear. Also my older Powslayer jacket has lasted 3 seasons at Baker keeping me dry on all those rainy days! But seriously if you want to stay dry and comfortable this is the jacket to get.

A jacket designed for the toughest outdoor snow adventures and excels in these conditions. Might be a bit more than you need if you’re just sticking to the resorts – bear in mind this is a hip-length jacket, so can be a bit constricting for activities that require a lot of hip flexion, including sitting on the lift.

Gore Tex pro will definitely keep the wind and wet out. Plenty of space to layer. Sleeves are a bit long to wear around town without using the Velcro cuff cinches. Powder skirt tucks nicely out of the way when not in use.

Can accommodate both gauntlet style and under-cuff gloves. Perfect for what it’s designed to do, which is be out in the wilderness in a blizzard or carving backcountry pow. Will get you around town, too, but way more than you need for just being in the city.

Wore this on a recent ski trip to morzine. An improvement on my old North face jacket. Had all you would expect, lift pass pocket, lens cleaner. I like that it comes down to my hips. As we had blue sky and sunshine didn’t test the waterproofness.

Pleased with my purchase.

Didn’t rain so can’t comment on the waterproof rating but was warm and breathable.
