20 Best Ski Bibs For Men (2023 Updated)

Built by mountaineers who give direct input so when you are in that situation, you ARE able to fully function right down to the way the hood bungie’s and straps tighten around your skull and helmet and goggles so you don’t get blown off balance or topple over which in some instances WILL end your fun for good.

I am NOT HAPPY that TNF for 2021 and beyond are NOT making their best garments out of Goretex. I have a new “Futureliight” Mountain Light jacket made of “Futurelight” material instead of Goretex, and I am not impressed with it’s breathability and rate of body moisture passage compared to Goretex.

For bib pants on the lower end price-wise of what is out there, these are a good value. The fit is nice, it allows for easy movement without being too baggy and the straps are easily adjustable to get the fit perfect.

They have a light lining and so offer a bit of warmth, but not too much. I prefer this because then I can adjust my insulation with my layering which gives the pants more versatility over a wider range of temperatures, and they have zippered vents on the inner thighs to allow for airflow when it’s needed.

I have short legs (31” inseam) and I find that they’re a little bit long—it’s a problem I have with most pants—but once I have boots on they’re okay and don’t drag on the ground. The Dryvent material is durable and offers adequate waterproofing for my needs (skiiing, snowshoeing, general winter recreation).

I’m happy with them and am sure I’ll enjoy them for many winters to come.

This is a review for Whitestorm snow bibs. I HATED that I couldn’t tell what size a Youth L or XL really was. I erred on the side of bigger for my 12 year old son and it ended up being a good choice.

They are a little long on him (gives him room to grow) and definitely big in the legs but he will be wearing clothes under them. Normally he wears 12-14 if that size exists. These snow pants seem well made.

They aren’t going to fit for more than 2 winters and I have confidence they will last that long.

After receiving the Whitestorm Insulated Men’s Ski Bib Winter Overall Pants through the Walmart Spark review program I am happy that I took the time to read some of the previous reviewers of the product before making the order.

Since most of the people complained that the pants ran small I went big on the sizing and ordered 1 size up. Thankfully they fit but not as loose as I had hoped for to allow for layering. The material is a bit thin but I’d rank it about average for a mid-weight snow pant.

The zipper could be a bit heavier since it carries a good deal of stress while you are moving about and it isn’t a 2 way zipper, so guys, you would need to remove the pants to go to the bathroom. It has 2 side pockets that zip up to keep the snow out and that’s it, no upper pockets in the bib or rear pockets.

What I wasn’t expecting is the cut, since this is a men’s cut, the crotch is really high and tight and would probably be uncomfortable for some men to wear. Secondly, the leg length is way out of proportion with the body.

As snug as the length of the body is, the leg length measures 37 inches from top to bottom. Since the bottom has a nice snow cuff and a boot zipper shortening these pants to a useable length will be a challenge.

My personal advise is to try this overall pants on before buying to avoid any buyer regrets.

I wore these Boulder Gear bibs to ski. We were in snow storm, very cold conditions and they were exceptional for warmth and dryness. I was a border line L-XL in regards to the websites bust, waist, hip measurements and matching size.

I chose to go with the XL and it was definitely the right choice! So, make sure you measure first and go a size larger if you are in question. I loved the low bib cut in the front. different then my previous pair.

Also, they are women’s bibs. nicely cut with a form fit. Well made gaiters. I am 6’0” tall. A regular pant cut was barely long enough. but, with ski boots who is really looking at length of pants? My only thought about them is I would have loved to have a second pocket over left hip.

There is only one over right hip.

My husband and I wore these in Keystone Colorado for Christmas vacation. We snow boarded, snow mobiles, tubes down hills, and rolled around in snow. These kept us warm and dry. Just wore a mid-weight base layer and sweat pants underneath.

Never got cold. My only very minor complaint was that the overall straps (Even though adjustable kept slipping and they would fall off my shoulders). An easy fix. I was worried because they seem so thin but was so happy I found these.

Great price and quality.

Just tried these out for 3 days on the mountain, shredding all day. I actually bought both this and the regular Avalon, but chose to wear this for the gore-tex as it was snowing. The regular Avalon fits closer to the body but that’s how it’s advertised, while the gore-tex fits regular.

Other people have mentioned problems with the buttons on the sides coming undone and the zippers unzipping, but I never once had this problem, and I’m a curvy gal. I fall often, so I was up and down, squatting and bending, and never had one button pop or a zipper drop.

The two zippers on the sides made it easy to pee, so you never have to undo the straps. So easy to go to the bathroom, in and out. I never once noticed I was wearing it, which is the highest praise I can give.

I had one layer of smartwool underneath as it was in the 20’s (this bib is a shell) and I was crazy comfortable the entire time. Never got wet, never had snow get inside, never had to adjust anything I was wearing.

It has real long legs though, but I’m not tall, and with the snowboard boots they never dragged. I also have a long torso, and was concerned it would be too short for my body, but it fit me just fine.

The straps on the top would loosen just a bit by the end of the day, but never enough for it to be a problem for me. The pockets could be improved. The pocket on the chest is the only one with a zipper.

the pockets at the legs in front are pretty deep but even so I just held chapstick in there. I wouldn’t trust money or cards in those. The ones on the butt don’t have zippers either, not trustworthy to hold anything really.

All in all, I was really happy with this bib, would definitely recommend!.

For a frame of reference, I am 5’4 and weigh 135 lbs. I have a thicker lower body and slimmer/shorter torso upper body. I took this snowboarding in Wyoming in -10 to 20 degree F weather. It was extremely cold outside.

I wore 2 base layer leggings on the bottom and 2 base and 1 midlayer on upper, not including jacket. Now to the product. This is more true to size compared to the Burton Avalon bib, so I ordered a small.

With all the layers, the bottom part felt tighter than what I prefer but I like things loose. Compared to the Bison reference picture (because I also have the color which is pretty accurate), the bottom was not as baggy looking as hers.

So I would say this is true to size, but if you want it baggier, size up. The torso didn’t feel long enough, even with my short torso. Even though the straps are adjustable, the fit still felt weird.

If you loosened the straps to prevent the pelvic area from being too tight, the top part felt too low. The straps are also too weak. It wouldn’t stay where I would keep it. The fabric was just too weak and slick to be the strap holding up the entire bib to your body.

The buttons and zippers on the sides kept failing. I would have to pull up my jacket to zip them back up. It could have to do with the layers and tighter fit, or maybe they just didn’t work well. But I pretty much couldn’t do a squat without them failing.

Again it could’ve been the tighter fit but who knows. I didn’t notice the cold at all, so the Goretex and wind resistance did its job. But also when I’m moving I don’t notice the cold, so that could be why I think that.

It is not insulated. That’s important to know if you have other gear that is. The bib is basically a shell, so don’t rely too much on it for warmth. The fabric was breathable and light. It didn’t weight me down.

It didn’t make weird sounds when I moved. There was a lack of pockets. There is that large zippered one on the chest which is the only one I felt comfortable using. There is 1 Velcro pocket on each butt cheek which I don’t consider useful, anything can still be lost or squished.

There is 1 deep fleece lined pocket on each leg that can’t close. Again not useful because anything can get lost if you’re moving around. Also if it’s cold, you’re not going to take off your gloves to put them into those pockets? I just don’t trust the pockets.

With any bib, it is difficult to use the bathroom, no matter how you spin it. The downside of all bibs. The straps crossing each other in the back are not permanently connected. They are held together similarly how a belt goes through a belt loop.

So if you unbuckle one or both, you can expect the straps to separate, and it was a hassle trying to fix them with a bunch of winter gear on. This review could’ve been different if I sized up or the temperature outside was warmer.

The fit was just a little too tight, but still room to move, which could’ve messed up with buttons/zippers, the shortness of the torso, and all the baselayers? I think the zippers still would’ve fallen down regardless if I sized up.

They don’t seem that strong. Overall, I’m satisfied with how much I paid for it (not full price) and its effectiveness. But I probably wouldn’t be satisfied with it if I paid full price and using every day.

I probably wouldn’t use this on the mountain every day without some adjustments. And there’s my story.

Hare Krsna !!! Super comfy, FITTED bib. The waterproofing system is legit, like always with Burton. These do breathe superbly, however they are just a shell ~ No Insulation = Not Warm ~. so leave plenty of room for layering if your in colder freezing climates.

The legs and hips are the fitted part of the bib. With Burton regular fits, the legs generally run a bit long, arms as well in jackets, they do that on purpose, movement is nice. I find they’re soft gear runs larger than most companies, like North Face or DC (an entire size or two larger than roxy).

The stretchy back panel is dope, though it does gap for me and that’s cool, means more stretching room. The drop seat is such a sweet touch. If the bibs aren’t too small, the snaps and zippers falling won’t be a problem.

Quality is top notch, as always and, their warrenty can’t be beat. Burton customer service is easy to deal with and hassle free. So making a return of damaged gear , or fixin of hard gear is easy peasy (and free), regardless of where it was purchased!.

was a good pair of bibs. i really like ones with a kangaroo pocket. the pair I received though didn’t have a satisfying click on the left side, but it clicked loudly on the right side. upon some gentle usage, the left side surely came off multiple times.

i returned it, before the problem surely will get worse. i like this brand, so i hope its just the 1 item i received. i like the fit, I bought some other brands around this time, and Jones fit better.

But flylow fit worse than airblaster. see my photos though, i have weird body proportions.

These surprisingly are very well made to keep cold and moisture out. I am a 5’10” female 150lb & got medium. Son got a medium as well also same height & weight. Husband same height of 5’10” 185lb hot a large.

I only used once, but for over an hour of sledding in 20 degree weather with windy conditions. Never felt cold in my legs. Wore an underlayer of a fleece legging, nothing specific for cold weather. And they fit better than this picture shows.

Covers more chest, like a regular set of bibs would. I would definitely recommend for leisure wear when outdoors for a few hours. Can’t comment past that on if they are good for any other outdoor situation.

I am 5’4” tall and weigh 215 lbs. The 2X fits better in the waist than any other pair I tried. I have a large bust also and the front panel fit over well without constriction. There is an expandable panel on each of the side of the waist that makes them easy to bend over in.

They are much too long though and will need to be hemmed before wearing. The straps are also a bit funky. They don’t stay up on their own and the top of the back panel gaps quite a bit, likely contributing to the straps not staying up.

Tightening of the straps to try and help didn’t work either because then you have camel toe.

Although the pant legs were way too long for me, I loved the pants. They were well-made, water-proof and styled for comfort. Hated to have to return them; wish they came in petite sizes, too. What a good price, too.

These pants had all the bells and whistles of the pricey ski brands but at a fraction of the price! I’m 5’5” and 130 – ordered size small and medium in black and gray because that’s what was available and I wanted to make sure I got a pair before they sold out.

The size medium was huge in every aspect, size small fit over all and in length, but the hips/thigh/but area were cut very generously which is great if that works for you, but I ended up returning these pants.

That said, there is a ton to like about these pants: they’re insulated, waterproof, have zipper pockets, stretch gussets on the sides of the chest, stretchy fabric overall, taped critical seams, and a tougher fabric on the inside of calf/ankle so you don’t trash them if you’re skiing and rub your boots or skis on them.

Also, know that the gray is sort of a denim or oxford cloth look, with the color being made by threads of black and threads of white woven together. I would say these run true to size except for the hip measurements which run larger than the size chart.

I gave only 4 stars on styling because I wished it had some more feminine details like a contrast color zipper or some shapely accent seams.

Always have trouble buying snow pants because I have big thighs. I’m 6’ and 200lbs. Size Large lots of time doesn’t fit me so I decided to go with XL. Lengths fits me perfectly. XL looks a bit baggie and is a little loose on top.

I adjust the straps and voila!! It gives me room to wear extra layers under the bib on those cold days. I bought these pants to snowboard so the loose fit doesn’t bother me. I i actually like it! I don’t want to be too tight and rip the pants on the rear end when crouching while snowboarding.

Im very happy with the purchase and pants quality so far. Would probably try size L next time. Also no issue with straps not staying on.

I was given these lase year as a gift. First time out skiing the inside leg was torn to shreds as they have no skuff guard. IF YOU SKI LOOK ELSEWHERE FOR A PANT probably ok for snowboarding. I ended up ordering a roll of Cordura and sewing it onto the inner leg.

I do like the pants now that I have made this fix but ther are so many other pants you can buy with this built in. Would not recommend these for any skiers.

Perfect for what I was looking for. Lightweight, waterproof, and warm with good-sized vents that allow for air-flow on warmer days. Only improvement I can think of is maybe adding back pockets. Other than that they are perfect!.

Really nice, thinner than I thought but I suppose warm enough. Nice colours but it’s a little tight around the waist, I saw some people say to size down but don’t. I’m 5’11 190lbs athletic build and a medium is a bit tight.

Only rating the size/fit and pocket set up of these bibs since it’s August and we don’t have snow yet. For reference, I am 6’1” and about 175lb, my waist is a 32 and inseam is 33-34 inches. I tried on a medium and a large.

The medium came up uncomfortably high into the groin region with the shoulder straps at their longest position, my fault shouldn’t have bothered with medium at my height. The large came to a comfortable position near their longest position.

There was still enough length in the leg to go over my snowboarding boots and the groin of the pants was in a good spot to allow for easy leg mobility which should translate to easy hiking and not fighting a low groin (like some other brands) while post holing or skinning.

The strap design on these bibs is great compared to other bibs I’ve tried in the past. Velcro is a game changer on these shoulder straps, I barely even notice the straps while walking around in these bibs.

I’m stoked I won’t have to deal with a plastic length-adjusting buckle digging into my shoulder under the shoulder straps of my daypack or avy bag. The legs are a little tight to me (especially with the built in transceiver slot inside the front right pocket) but I gravitate toward slightly looser fitting items when I’m hiking in the back country so the fit will probably be great for resort days.

The pockets on these bibs are interesting. The two pockets up top seem great, ample storage and I always love having dual pockets up top. The lower pockets are where it gets interesting. I noticed that the way the zipper on the hip/leg pockets is designed, the pocket doesn’t come to a full close.

There is a little gap that makes it look like it will not hold out the rain or the snow if you take a tumble. Probably fine for most items in your pockets, just make sure not to have your phone in there, though the farther your phone is from your beacon the better so maybe that’s part of the design rationale? I am going to order an XL and will try to update the review when I get those.

I’ll also update as the snow falls and I get the chance to put these into action. They have great waterproof and breathability ratings so I expect them to be great! I just need to figure out the sizing for someone with my build.

I purchased these bibs to replaced a pair of 40-denier GoreTex 3L bibs from another manufacturer that were shredded around the boot cuffs after 200+ days of mixed resort and touring use. I wasn’t expecting these to be bomb-proof but, I thought they might be a good value.

I was sold on the integrated beacon pocket/lanyard and the side-zips. After receiving them, I can safely say that you get what you pay for. These are 2x the weight of the 3L bibs I intended to replace and the fabric is delicate in comparison to 40-denier 100% nylon hard shell fabric.

There are re-enforcements around the ankles but it’s not where the buckles on your ski boots or ski edges are going to rub – it’s on the back of the cuff. The stretch in the fabric is minimal. I’m frankly not sure what the point is.

I’d put them on par with resort style bibs made from polyester. Similar weight, price and durability.

Was initially excited to get these pants. I have been using BDs products for a long time and have not had much for issues. However these pants were a let down. 1st issue, I’m 6’4″ and weigh 215. The XL, their biggest size, was at least 1.

5″ too short and did not not have much for room. They weren’t tight, but for an XL I would have expected more room. 2nd, when I tightened the waist belt the sewn end ripped out. I hardly pulled on it at all 3rd, the knee patches are entirely asthetic.

There is not reinforcement at all. Same material as the rest of the pant. Outside of those issues, the material felt nice and pant is well thought out.

Been looking for a good bib for a while, and this is one of the best I’ve found. I usually rock an XL for a bit more of the baggy 90’s rider fit I grew up with. No moose knuckle, and sits just right on the waist / shoulders with no adjustment needed.

Warm, good pocket design, good zippers and hardware. Really appreciate the wider leg opening to fit over the boots and over the binding. Already used it in rainy / slushy conditions and it was perfect.

All the flex I need for some hiking, good saddle design for a rider with a wide stance. For a 3L fabric, the material is super soft and doesn’t feel too rigid like my other 3L pants. Bought it to go with the matching Stoker jacket, and the style is pretty on point.

Caught some lookers checking it out, which was hilarious. Overall, solid purchase. Dakine know’s their market, and know’s how to design for a true rider in mind. Definitely going to be my new go-to setup and if it’s anything like the other Dakine gear I own, it’ll last a long time.

Stoker Bibs are leaving me lacking in the stoke department. First day of use the zipper head on left thigh vent broke in half. Now the zipper will not stay closed, good if your hot, bad if your not. Also, the seam that joins the back fabric to the front fabric failed as well.

Sent in a warranty claim two weeks ago. Zero response so far! Still skiing these pants everyday as the snow keeps falling, will be interesting to watch what fails next. For $480 I’d expect a lot better quality and customer support than this.

The pockets and features changed considerably from the 2020 model to the 2021 model. The latest 2021 model as far fewer pockets than the 2020 model. I prefer the older ones, thigh vent zippers were on the insides of the thighs and now they’re on the outsides.

Perhaps my zipper failure would not have happened if they were still on the insides, not sure but maybe. Anyways, I would not buy these again, even at a discount.

You have to be kidding me with this shoulder strap!!! Took this bib out today for the first time and had nothing but trouble. The plastic part of the strap mechanism just slides right out of the loop that is attached to the bib.

There’s nothing to stop it from coming out! Not only that, you can’t tighten the strap without it just loosening again. This is 2022 people! Why not a basic plastic buckle? Why have an opening that can come undone? Both shoulder straps came off all day long!!! This is completely unacceptable for a 480$ bib! I simply don’t know how this design was approved to be sold to the masses.

Other than this catastrophe of a shoulder strap design I really like the bib! I’m calling customer service tomorrow!.

Like all Arc’teryx gear, the construction is both bomber and beautiful. I wanted a pair of well-constructed bibs to wear at the resort and nastier days in the backcountry. They were pounded during some storm skiing, and as I would expect, I was perfectly comfortable the entire time.

My main complaint are the pockets and the restriction of the movement. I am 5’8, 135 pounds with slim hips and could fit both the small and the medium. I went for the medium for the ability to layer more.

The look is relatively flattering, for ski bibs, without the billowy diaper-like fit that I found in some bibs. The fabric is fairly stiff which inhibits movement somewhat. The problem I found is the cut of the legs, while flattering (ish) looking, doesn’t facilitate movement.

The knees are not articulate and they are tight in the thighs. Bending and squatting down, as one often does in athletic activities, was not comfortable. The fabric pinched along the crease of the legs in the hip socket.

The pockets were also challenging to use. I wanted to stash a few items in there, but there is so little extra fabric that it was hard to get the items in and out. I find this type of design frustrating because I don’t understand any purpose behind it other than to give a more slim look.

Most other bibs have better storage. I would go with one of those instead.

Nothing gets the blood pumping like the decision to have a downhill race as you near the top of the lift. At this point, every second counts. I use to use baggy insulated ski pants like all my friends but then I realized if I wanted to be the first one down, I had to be different.

I needed to be aerodynamic; I had to reduce drag. The solution: Sabre LT pants. Last week as we neared the top of the lift for what was intended to be a warm up pass, the decision was made. The race was on.

I’m not one to brag, but I kicked butt and looked dang good doing it. Thank you Sabres, thank you arcteryx, and thank you Moose Jaw.

I use the pants for Alpine Skiing. I ski between 30 and 50 days a year. My last pair of Arteryx pants lasted me 10+ years when the zipper on the cuff broke. Arteryx didn’t have any inventory in the pants and was unable to provide me with another pair under warranty within the season.

I was referred to Valhalla by a neighbor and have been very pleased with their service and prices.

2 rides in so far, one in a cold and windy Copper day, the other night boarding Brighton at -5 on the summit. I used these shell bibs with nothing more than 250 merino wool base layers and was still warm.

There was room for a second layer, and I could have layered up but I was feeling good on the way up and the way down. These pants are super tough material, very well designed, and I look forward to using them for years to come.

Also, if you’re on the fence about Bibs, definitely try them out. I’m never going back to pants again. I’m 6′, 215 and the XL bibs fit well. They’re comfortable around the legs, the belly, and the shoulders.

The only gripe I could have is they’re a little long, but the legs are well designed and they stop at the ankle on the boot so you’re not walking on the backs of them. All in all no problem with the length.

Absolutely love these bibs, they’re super comfy, plenty of room to layer, shoulder straps stay put, ample “functional” pockets that are placed not only in well thought out locations functionally, they’re comfortable loaded up.

My second favorite thing is the stretch gore-tex I can sag or high rise and there’s no binding or pulling when I squat and twist. My absolute favorite thing is the vents! The inner leg vents that vent through the outside vents on the hip are money and the ability to run the front zipper open I learned hiking on Mt.

Hood 3 days ago, is absolutely clutch! I bought these to instruct in and they’re absolutely 100% a game changer over my issuesd HH pants. With a lifetime warranty to boot these things are worth the money! The value vs cost is unreal.

Buy them……………………NOW!!!!.

Bought these bibs this year and have used them in varying conditions from blue bird, to icy and windy, to wet, and all I can say is these bibs were built for anything you can throw at them. Not being in top shape, I sweat, and these bibs allow for multiple temperature control points and provide ultra breathable fabric.

They flex well where you need it and appear to he highly durable. From alpine days, to back county atv riding, this versatile bib will be the only winter pant you need in your arsenal. Highly pleased with purchase.

The length is a bit much. Can’t be altered. My wife is 167 cm, still Medium size was long for her by atleast a couple of inches. She loved it but sadly we have to return it.

Couldn’t have wanted anything better, fully water proof, definitely very wind proof, warm and with vents for the warmer days. Ticks all the boxes…
