5m captures the Short Take Off and Landing (STOL) capabilities, along with the unmistakable lines and character of the rugged full-scale design series Age Group: adult.
It’s a near perfect plane, especially on 4s liposuction. This buy came with a 3s 2200mah lipo which is a nice bonus compared to other sites, although I probably wont fly with it since I had 4s from other builds.
Its fast enough, flys true, nice scale acrobatics and it’s a complete joy to fly anywhere (and I mean anywhere, take off and land from my back yard). If you want an STOL with some 3D and speed, get a Timber.
If you want scale flights, a total windbreaker of a plane and beautiful looks, then the Maule M7 is for you.
E-Flite Cherokee 1. 3m BNF Basic with AS3X and SAFE Select EFL54500 The revolutionary PA-28 Cherokee began rolling off a brand-new Vero Beach, Florida assembly line in the early 1960s. Its simple design and smooth handling made it a popular light aircraft for successful flight training and personal use.
Since then, over 32,000 Cherokees and variants have been built making it the fourth-most-produced airplane in the world. The E-flite Cherokee 1. 3m scale model is a tribute to the general aviation classic that features realistic scale details including functional navigation lights, flaps, a full-flying stabilator and more, plus 3S and 4S LiPo compatibility and incredible handling any RC pilot can appreciate.
I got this plane as my 2nd plane after the carbon cub. Well let me tell you this Piper Cherokee is amazing. It flys beautifully and is easy to fly and responsive. After setup and making sure I followed all the directions I took it to the field for the maiden flight.
It went without a hitch. Some minor trimming and she was very impressive as she flew by. I really liked seeing the pilot. I have subsequently flown her 15 more times and each time I enjoy it more. What a great little plane and looks just like what many of us have seen at the airports and in some cases flown.
As an addendum to the above. I now have 66 flights on her and it just keeps getting better. I fly at a grass field here in Florida. The grass is rough and many planes have problems with their gear landing in those conditions.
This Piper has had no issues landing or taking off on the grass field. Since i am a new pilot I am practicing as many maneuvers as i can and she seems to be able do do anything i try. A more experienced pilot will make the maneuvers more precisely than i do and will find the plan very capable and rewarding to fly.
Make no mistake, this little plane can do a lot and looks great too.
This is the second part of my review on the Piper Cherokee. Finally got to get out and fly in some light winds, plane took out with no issues and flew well with little if any trim corrections. I was using a 3200 battery and had no issues to speak of, if your going to fly with a 3S 3200 make sure your battery is as far forward as you can get it otherwise you might be a bit tail heavy.
Landing with flaps in a crosswind is not the best idea I’ve ever had, the plane slows way down with those barn doors hanging out there and there is a chance you’ll get blown off the runway. Landing in calm conditions with flaps works great, landing with the wind down the runway with flaps will almost let you hover.
The oleo nose get strut is a great addition since on occasions I do land on the nose gear first, not really part of the landing plan. With flaps down I’m over the end of the runway at ¼ throttle, much less and you could stall the plane.
All in all it’s a great flier and a great addition to my small fleet. I would highly recommend this plane. *.
Really like this plane because it was the one I soloed in back in the 60’s. It was easy to fly and EFlight has captured that in this version. Withe the exception of a couple of little things, it’s a Winner.
Both wing tip lenses were not glued on very well and tried to come off just by touching them. The nice radio antenna didn’t survive the second trip in the truck. Finally the rear Stabilizer if very sensitive and I had to dumb it down to 70% so the plane wouldn’t “jump” off the ground and try to stall.
Even at 70% you need to be be easy with it. All in all another great addition to my stock general aviation hanger. Please keep these coming as many of us older folks have flown more of these in real life then the war birds and jets! *.
Shaping and smoothing materials has never been easier than with a genuine 21-296 Surform Plane from Stanley Hand Tools. The 21-296 is the industry standard for Surform tools and with good reason. It’s designed to be durable enough to stand up to the toughest, repetitive shaping jobs in professional environments, and the high impact polymer handle allows precise control over the cut.
Whether you’re working with wood, plaster, vinyl, linoleum or fiberglass, the Stanley 21-296 Surform Plane is sure to give you the professional results you expect. It comes with one general purpose replaceable surform blade, so you can get right to work, right out of the box.
I had a door in my house that had swollen in the summer humidity, plus the house has sagged a bit. Needed take some off the top of the door quickly, and this tool did the job. Its made of stamped metal and cheap plastic, but I bought this tool for one job, and it did it.
I don’t intend to cherish this tool and leave it behind me as part of my legacy — I’m just a home owner, not a wood worker.
It would appear from all the other reviews that this is a good tool until the handle breaks. I had the same problem as other reviewers. The description say ‘ High-impact polymer handle holds up to heavy use’.
it doesn’t. clearly. Having said that, customer service were very good and they are sending me a new one without any quibbles. Fortunately, I’ve made a new handle from a piece of timber so I’ll have one surform for ‘heavy use’ and the replacement for everything else!.

I have a Stanley 60 1/2 block plane from the 1960s. It is a good little plane. I use it almost daily as a carpenter. I wanted another for use at home so I ordered one which arrived very fast. It would seem however that the wonders of modern machinery and manufacturing techniques have been spurned by Stanley who have debased a once good item to one solely based on price and utterly unfit for purpose.
The base was so coarsely ground that I could have used it as an emery board and so far from flat that when I put it on a surface plate it wobbled like a round bottomed doll. The throat was out of level so I had to file it to persuade the iron to sit flat across it.
The iron as supplied was not square. The throat is too large and can not be closed to a small enough dimension for awkward timbers and the adjustable front sole is no longer made from cast iron as it used to be but a ghastly mild steel which does not respond well to machining.
All in all a dog. Avoid it. This plane is one sixth of the price of Clifton’s block plane. I would if I were making the purchasing decision again gladly pay six times more to obtain an item fit for purpose rather than this cheap travesty.
Once I had set the blade to correct position I used it and I am very pleased with the result. However I am disappointed that there were no instructions to tell me how to set the blade and what the various wheel functions are used for and the order in which they have to be used to set blade.
I had previous knowledge, but a novice might find it difficult to set blade.
I took the advice of others and tuned this plane up to optimise it. I filed the mouthpiece holdings and lapped the sole. The blade also needed squaring up but takes a sharp edge and gives 0. 05mm shavings now with a lovely smooth finish.
This process does take a while to complete but it is much cheaper than buying an already-fettled plane and does not require specialist skills, just a flat surface, medium/fine sandpaper and a file plus a couple of hours work.
The blade adjustment is MUCH easier than on basic models and the mouth adjustment is very useful too. Too early to say how reliable it will be but it seems well built. Very good for the money.
This plane does pretty well what nothing else will do, e. g. planing chipboard, so is invaluable. I used one of my father’s for many years. I have given it fewer than five stars here because the blade of the one I received snapped almost immediately.
FFX response however was excellent providing a replacement at no charge immediately.
There are different model from Stanley with the same use. This one have a handle a bit too much in plastic for me and look a bit cheap for my use. also, the provided blade is flat, I would have preferred curved.
My mistake, I did not checked too much. Overall, I’m very happy with this product. It was also a very nice price and delivery was nothing compare to other merchants.
With the PowerUp 2. 0 Electric Paper Airplane Conversion Kit origami meets engineering in this unique twist on the popular paper airplane. In place of manual power, this lightweight, carbon fiber motor propels your hand-folded aircraft through the sky.
The PowerUp 2. 0 features a power module, quick charging pack, an extra propeller and 4 paper airplane designs. With a 20 second quick charge, your paper airplane will have over 30 seconds of flight time.
The PowerUp 2. 0 requires 3 AA batteries that are not included and it is recommended for ages 8 and up.
Power Up 2. 0 airplanes are great and fun! They fly for 30 seconds. That’s a long time! For example, I threw the plane and it went to the end of my hallway. Power Up 2. 0 airplanes are great. First of all I threw it and it went very high.
It actually hit the ceiling! Power Up 2. 0 airplanes are really fun! The battery pack fits on almost any plane! You can build anything and the motor will still work. This helps you to be really creative!.
My daughter bought this for me for Christmas. It was a lot of fun trying it out together. It took some tweaking to get it right, but then it would stay up in the air for a few minutes at a time. Unfortunately, it stopped working after a few uses, but I contacted the company and they quickly replaced it without any hassle.
This is a great item, easy to use, and flies great. In the park we went to, one 20s second charge easily and routinely gives close to 1 minute of flight time on some designs (Powerup only advertises 30seconds).
Bring a bunch of paper, and you can test different designs easily. BUT the more space the better— these things can travel!.

Single mom tired of calling handymen, so growing my tool collection instead. This little tool was perfect for fixing where my doors were sticking. It leaves the surface fairly smooth but I used a 120 grit sanding sponge after.
I was surprised now much material this tool can remove, and how quickly yet controlled you can work with it. Was also nice to have such a small tool, I could keep the doors hung while planing & constantly test them.
Perfect product, much better and easier to use than the more expensive alternatives.
This is actually Irwin brand, not Stanley, but both reputable names. The blade broke while taking it out of the package! I wish I was joking! Luckily there is a lifetime warranty. I was able to get a replacement from CT without issue.
I still haven’t used the tool yet. The body looks durable, but obviously the blade is questionable.
I have all the versions of Stanley’s Surform tools. They make quick work to smooth a surface. The surform blade has 100’s of miniture planes in it. It works better than a plane on wood filler and wood with difficult grain patterns.
It’s a great addition to the traditional block and bench planes.

Very handy tool , well worth having availble in a general Tool Box for that odd woodwork DIY. My only criticism was the vague instruction for removing the blade It would have helped if it stated more clearly that the removal screw required several turns to release the blade and not just a 90 degree turn as it seem to suggest on the packaging.
It didn’t help that after turning the release screw 90 degrees it felt like it would not turn any further and I was not that keen to try too hard in case I broke the screw.
Fortunately I purchased this far cheaper (and better design) SMALLER size Surform Block Plane. The larger 12″ balde one purchased the same day lasted minutes before the weld on the blade failed. The stubby design of this one means the blade is kept flatter and the weight of your (single) hand evenly pressed down over it.
Taking off a bit less wood shavings each pass is the better bet here – as this model’s balde will CLEARLY last way longer with careful use, with you ‘seeing ‘the grain direction and ‘rise’ too. Avoid 12″ one!!.

Te Ranger T-1 is a lot of fun! It’s my first twin motor plane. Flying without FPV gear in the nose, makes balancing the plane a little more work, especially with smaller lipos. Running a 1000mah 3S pack, I was able to have fun on a really windy day! In 15-20+mph winds, I was able to penetrate and hold my position.
Even managed a Harrier style landing. GetFPV has been great on delivery for all my orders.
Extremely well designed and precision foam build. Easy CG with 3s2200. 10 minute sporty flights. Agile, quick and fun to fly. Small plane so will get tossed a bit by wind but can get 80mph level flight.
Differential thrust in Inav has less effect than I’d like but noticeable. Already bought a second to try a different fpv setup.
This Southwest airplane is made out of die-cast metal and durable plastic. Logo and markings are all certified by Southwest! The model is approximately 6 inches in length and has a 5 inch wingspan. Recommended for children ages 3.
So I brought this as a gift for my son after he had his first airplane ride. Of course it was on an Southwest flight. He enjoyed every bit of that flight from being in the clouds to the outstanding hospitality.
Thats all him & his sisters talked about when we arrived back home from our trip. Soon he got into planes like he did with cars & I told him Id get him one. He was so surprised & plays with it all the time.
This 787mm Wingspan Skyhunter Racing is a special updated version for racing, also it is the smallest and most portable edition of the legendary Skyhunter FPV airframe series, the twin-boom tail wing design makes it fly super stable and agile, the EPP moulded wing and fuselage reinforced by carbon fibre tube and rod is light in weight but solid and strong in structure, the new crash absorption system will save the plane even in a hard crash.
You can take it anytime to any place and fly in anywhere because of its compact size and highly integrated power system.
Fun plane to fly. I’m not using it for FPV, just flying. And the flying has been fun. It went together pretty smoothly. I used hot glue and followed the RMRC video’s instructions https://www. youtube.
com/watch?v=0rxn_Rh6N68 Mine weights 239g without a battery, and on 3S this is a nice, nimble, speedy flier. For $59 + the power pack this is a great deal and a fun plane. No problem putting it together and it took off easily at 3/4 throttle on the maiden flight.
Using a Spektrum AR410 receiver and a 1500mAh Venom 3S to start. CG was came out good. Throws are set in the middle for the 1st flights. I had good response (in the middle settings) and I am going to start increasing the throws.
Rolls were pretty fast, elevator a little less so, and there is no rudder. With the high wing and battery down low, it wants to self-correct coming out of rolls. Good climbing on 3S, but not unlimited.
I got a good 7-8 minutes on the 1500mAhr Venon. It floated in nicely for the landings. A blast to fly, easy to store and transport. Highly recommended.
This thing is so awesome. I used 2207 with 6×5 on 4s1p (long pack 2 in front of 2) if you wAnt to use a lipo a 3s 1300 is the biggest that will fit AND ITS STILL QUICK. The CG marks are correct. The control surfaces are set at 100 out of 125 with about 45% expo on ailerons and about 20% on elevator.
Requires just a little flick at about half throttle to get it airborne. I would highly recommend packing tape or the belly skid pan if you are landing on anything but grass. There is a shelf under the wings if you want to put a flight controller or maybe your VTX.
I mounted both my VTX and camera on the front hatch and it CG’s perfect. Flight time is approx 9 minutes with 3s 1300 lipo at medium aggressive flying and a lot more on 4s1p li-ion. just get it already.
I have been in this hobby for over 30 years and FPV for the last two. The skyhunter has turned out to be my absolute favorite craft to fly by FPV. I love the way it handles. It took a few flights to get it balanced out but once you have the AIL and Ele set correctly, it will move like a rocket! I just love it.
Perfect for beginners and intermediate users! Now, some folks like a longer shoe for greater consistency, but this plane fits in every toolbox or bag that I own. this is meant for smaller tasks, and won’t replace longer shop planes.
However, it will follow you everywhere, and really comes in handy. Even though it’s called a bench plane, that doesn’t mean that it has to stay there. When I slightly retract the blade, I can place it loose in a canvas tanker bag with out any concerns over chipping or dulling.
I used it to remove the manufacturer’s round-over on a piece of 2-by, and it was much easier to use this, rather than setting up my jointer. Regarding tuning, I didn’t go through the whole process of flattening and edging the shoe, but I’m not sure that this size really needs it.
The blade was sharp from the factory, and I was able to produce some decent shavings. The frog was a little stiff, but that’s due to being brand new. I’ve every confidence that it will loosen the more I use it.
Get this plane. It is an essential tool and can be expected to make an appearance whenever your stock has to be prepared.
This rebate plane is made from fine grey iron with all working surfaces accurately machined for precise results. Two cutter positions for regular and bull nose work. The cutter is adjustable for depth of cut in the rear position.
To accurately control dimensions of the rebate, an adjustable fence depth gauge is supplied. A cutting spur is also provided for cross grain work.
It’s exactly what I wanted. I had a second hand one with no depth stop. I bought this one just to get that! But it’s worth it. The plane is excellent and required very little work to start planing straight away.
Putting together the parts for a Stanley 78 scrub plane. There were other parts that I purchased to add to this frame. Total cost was in my budget, this being the final piece. Soon will be hogging off lots of wood to flatten boards without the investment in a planer.
The condition of this item was excellent. Minimal wear, all the parts that usually go missing were there. A few minutes spent honing the blade and this plane was up and working. This item was virtually new old stock.
The Stanley 12-140 No. 92 Shoulder and Chisel Plane serves a dual purpose – converts from a shoulder plane to a chisel plane. The iron construction is made from extra-thick 1/8″ (3. 18mm) A2 steel for excellent edge retention.
This plane also features a precision-ground cast-iron base for accuracy, and features finger grips for control. Length 6-7/64″,155. 18mm, Width 3/4″,19. 05mm, Cutter Width 3/4″. Uses replacement blade 12-144.
The plane is a versatile traditional design that is convertible to a chisel plane. The Stanley Sweetheart line was a premium line of very well tools. The vintage originals are highly prized collector items.
This appears to be well machined and the two main parts of the plane body are machined for a near-perfect fit. The sharp edges will benefit from a bit of rounding-off where your hands grip the plane.
Unfortunately the plane iron did not fit parallel to the base. If I angled the iron to fit the base then the edges were not even on the sides. The good news is that this gave me an opportunity to find out how fantastic Tyler Tool’s customer service is.
I called, the phone was answered immediately by a very nice CSR who apologized – although this was not Tyler’s fault; Stanley just didn’t machine something correctly- and she immediately arranged for me to return the plane.
Dealing with new suppliers on-line is often a cause for anxiety – Tyler Tool has earned my support as an excellent supplier with fantastic support in the rare case you might need it.
I purchased this plane at Rockler. I went home with one and found out it didn’t work. The ramp was ground crooked. I went back to the store. Almost every one was crooked. The clerk and I found the least crooked one and I took it.
I wound up clamping the plane in my woodworking vise and filing the ramp myself until the blade presents the cutting edge flat to the sole. For what it’s worth, I checked for debris under the blade as well as whether or not the cutting edge was square to the side of the blade.
I hope the quality control issues have been fixed. This one was disappointing.
PJ50 Business Jet Twin 70mm EDF Jet from Freewing – PNP – FJ31811P After years of anticipation, Motion RC and Freewing are proud to announce our first business jet, the PJ50! Evolving in the footsteps of our wildly popular AL37 Airliner, the PJ50 is the next generation of civilian transporter plane that is sure to turn heads and drop jaws at your RC flying field.
The Freewing PJ50 sports all the modern design elements that a discerning RC pilot wants in a high performance, feature rich, and uniquely standout aircraft. Now boarding: Your personal jet! Elegance Extreme Symbols of opulence and style, Freewing’s PJ50 references the personal jet travel habits of the business elite.
Sleek, stark, and sharp in all the right planes, the PJ50 brings into RC hangars around the world something new to fly alongside Freewing’s long line of RC military jets and warbirds. First in Class The PJ50 is the first Freewing model that is inspired by the civil sector of corporate jets.
With a 67” wingspan and fully pre-painted white, the Freewing PJ50 impresses both in the air and on the runway. Its sleek profile provides for that “big airplane” feel in the sky, while its slender fuselage and removable wings keep it easy to transport in a standard sedan.
Chromed Details Chromed plastic inlets add extra bling to the aircraft while also protecting the nacelle. The PJ50 features 12 bladed Electric Ducted Fan units for increased thrust and the pleasing “whoosh” sound that RC jet pilots love.
The aircraft arrives fully pre-painted and ready for any further painting or customizations. This power system is used in many Freewing jets and is well regarded for its output power per pound. With sensible throttle management, the PJ50 features a potential flight time of 4-8 minutes.
Grass-Friendly A “double-bogey” or two wheel setup is mounted on a CNC aluminum OLEO suspension strut to absorb the occasional rough landing. The narrow profile of the undercarriage is intended to cut through short grass fields, although pavement provides the best taxiing experience for a business jet in this class.
A dual nose door fully encloses the nose gear during flight to provide optimal aerodynamic efficiency. Suspension Struts “Trailing Link” suspension struts on the main landing gear are paired with double-bogey wheels to give extra stability when operating on rougher surfaces.
A bolt-on door conceals the strut during flight. The PJ50 uses common wheel sizes with several other Freewing jets and is configurable for other wheel materials if the pilot chooses to experiment. Triple Landing Lights The PJ50 boasts three white LED landing lights, two mounted on the wing roots and one mounted on the nose strut.
These three landing lights are automatically synchronized to turn on when the landing gear are deployed, and to turn off when the landing gear are retracted. LEDs Everywhere Eleven LEDs are pre-installed throughout the aircraft, making the PJ50 one of the most illuminated aircraft at Motion RC.
These LEDs are all driven by a central unit which handles how and when each LED behaves. Some blink, some flash, some remain on, and some are synchronized with the landing gear. Additional programming or configuration is not required.
Efficient Power System Having designed EDF jets for over 15 years, Freewing’s power systems continue to define the ultimate in sensible performance and value in PNP (“Plug and Play”) RC jets. The PJ50’s twin 70mm 12 blade Inrunner motor system is fed by a single 6s 25.
5V 5000mAh LiPo battery. This common battery is required for many RC models and is already owned by many RC pilots, lowering the average cost of ownership for any one aircraft. Now Boarding Developed for both the novice and expert RC jet pilot alike, the Freewing PJ50 delivers an ownership experience without parallel.
Fly the skies with style and bring a different touch of class to your hangar today! Features: Now includes two 2952-2100Kv inrunner motors and 12-blade fans for added power and efficiency Beautiful, scale outline both static and in the skies ~1/16 scale, yet lightweight with docile flying characteristics Attractive, business jet-standard blue decals 100% fully factory-painted Nacelles easily removed with 4 screws 11 LED light system throughout the airframe 4 screw wing assembly makes for easier transport Removable winglets with MWS slotting system Scale aluminum suspension struts Scale flap system Includes: Freewing PJ50 Private Jet Twin 70mm EDF Jet – PNP 2x 2952-2100Kv Inrunner Brushless Motors (installed) 2x 70mm 12-Blade EDFs (installed) 2x.
I’ve come full circle on the PJ-50. First impressions were “great”. Then as I flew it more in a variety of conditions, I found it to be a REAL challenge to handle the wing rock/Dutch roll on approach in much more than 5 knots of wind.
I was exasperated…. frustrated!!! Then, as I mentioned in a prior post, someone suggested I install a gyro. MAGIC FOLLOWED!!!! So…. to modify my prior posts / This month I have flown 3 occasions with wind day #1 12 knots steady, wind day #2 15 knots G 20 and wind day #3 11 knots G 17.
I have not had any landing control issues on these 3 days. Wind day #3…I made 17 landings and EVERY ONE was smooth and no bounce. Not a tribute to any piloting skill but totally attributable to this bird’s design with a gyro added.
She has proven herself several times and has now become my “go to bird” for windy days. That’s a 180 degree switch from when I was exasperated. I am using the Eagle A3-L V2 with the gain turned up to about 25% to 30% from zero gain.
I also turned each aileron’s ball link two full turns out so each aileron is about 3 mm reflex to help forestall the tip stall (effectively reduces the angle of attack of the wing section ahead of the aileron….
adding more washout, so to speak). Honest bird, now. Frustration is vanquished. Also, this is one tough design. I’ve given her some hard impacts…one pre-gyro landing/crash and one impact with a fence post (oops!) on roll out.
Misjudged that one. She withstood these well (repairs required, of course).
This collection has no specific scale; rather they seem to be built to fit a particular box or size. In this case, the planes measure about 9 inches in length with a wing span of about 13 inches, depending on the model.
They are not your typical building kit where one needs to cut pieces out of runners/trees, but instead they come as disassembled toys where one needs to attach the engines to the wings and then the wings to the fuselage.
No gluing or painting is needed as they are snap fit models. Markings and different color trims are present in some models and accurately done. These models look fine out of the box, however they can still be weathered/detailed to make them look even better.
A stand is included where the plane can be mounted. Whether you want to display them or play with them, they will be enjoyable either way. The box measures 10 inches by 7 inches by 1. 5 inches.
This model was poorly designed from the start. The plastic parts fit together poorly. The propellers droop down once installed. No glue required, youll want to use it anyway to get the wheels to mount at all.
I was so happy to find this model at a decent price. I used to work for a cargo company that had DC-3s in the USVI, and I was looking for one for my friend’s grandson. They are really cool, old planes.
FlightLine F7F-3 Tigercat 1600mm (63″) Wingspan – PNP – FLW302P The Grumman F7F Tigercat is a twin piston engine aircraft developed during World War II. Originally envisioned as a carrier-based naval fighter, the Tigercat underwent several iterations and was later optimized for a variety of roles.
Although World War II ended before it became fully combat operational, many variants of the Tigercat went on to serve in the Korean War in capacities including as a night fighter, ground attack platform, and a dependable reconnaissance platform.
Honoring this famed aircraft, Motion RC is proud to introduce the FlightLine F7F-3 Tigercat, which is the world’s first mass production foam electric RC Tigercat. Officially licensed by Northrop Grumman, the FlightLine F7F-3 Tigercat’s 1600mm wingspan and 1/10 sport scale matches our popular P-38 Lightning, and the two look excellent in flight formation together! In the air, the FlightLine F7F-3 Tigercat exhibits fantastic stability, is very easy to control at a wide speed range, and has a predictable stall with easy recovery.
Design – Meticulously designed to incorporate EPO foam, wood, plastic, and carbon reinforcements, our design is easy to assemble and maintain, and delivers the strength and power to satisfy any RC airplane pilot.
The main wing halves, horizontal stabilizer, and two engine nacelles each install with four screws. A new pliable ribbon wiring harness simplifies each wing connection to one instead of five. The antenna and gun barrels are also designed to easily slide out to prevent damage during transport.
A plastic nose cone, cowls, and doors are designed for longevity. The generously sized battery bay can accommodate your batteries, receiver, and optional gyro in a cleanly organized layout. To ensure a secure fit, the cockpit of this FlightLine F7F-3 Tigercat is held on by both magnets and a sliding latch.
The FlightLine F7F-3 Tigercat arrives with dependable electronics pre-installed. The aircraft uses our Day – Bright 3W LEDs for visibility. Static wingtip lights remain on, and the single landing light turns on only when the landing gear is down, for ultimate realism like the full scale aircraft.
Four sets of adhesive vinyl decals are also included in the box. Choose from these decals or recreate your own historic livery as you wish! Performance – The F7F-3’s generous main wing area allows a short takeoff distance of 15-20 meters, and its 70mm diameter nose wheel and 80mm diameter main wheels and thick steel struts are excellent for operating on typical grass airfields.
An optional aluminum compression strut upgrade is available for rougher grass conditions. The Tigercat’s tricycle landing gear reduces the risk of tipping forward after landing and makes taxing on the ground very stable.
Four flaps slow the aircraft for controlled power on landings at low speed. For efficient power, the aircraft features a pair of 3748-600Kv brushless motors, 3-blade 12×7 propellers (Standard and Reverse rotation), and two 60A ESCs.
The model’s top speed is 125kph/78mph, and comfortable flight duration ranges between 6 and 7 minutes on a pair of 4s 3000m – Ah lipo batteries. For even faster speeds approaching 155kph/97mph and extended vertical performance, an optional Sport Power System utilizing 3648-880Kv motors and 2-Blade 12×8 propellers is available for separate purchase.

This plane is hands down an all-around winner in my book and sets the bar for all the others to dream about. FlightLineRC has listened to what we the modelers want to see in their planes and have incorporated them into a beautiful flying, rarely modeled, highly sought after, iconic twin electric flying airplane….
The F7F-3 Tigercat I am beyond simply impressed and thoroughly in awe with this plane, I feel privileged and honored to have been chosen to test pilot this aircraft. crxmanpat and I made the maiden flight with a pair of Admiral 4s 4000 mAh lipo’s and a pair of Admiral 3600 pro mAh lipo’s.
We set all flight surfaces set to neutral and control throws set as per the included instruction manual…Initial flight timer was set to a conservative 5 minutes. Taxied out on the rough grass field, lined her up into the wind and gave her the throttles.
She lifted off the tall grass gracefully and without even a hiccup. Only a few clicks of up elevator trim was needed to have her flying hands free and level, after which we proceeded to put her through her paces.
With her big tall vertical stabilizer and rudder, she tracks like an arrow and low full speed presentation passes were a blast and sight to behold. In comparison to the recent release from “FlightLineRC” of the equal sized P-38 lightning…the F7F-3 Tiger Cat was much easier to fly and landings were a breeze.
Pardon the “Pun†, but she fly’s like a lady-cat, and displays a beautiful and graceful presence in the sky. With the pre-installed two 600kv motors she was not lacking in power in any way and easily was put through loops and rolls without even straining or wanting to fall out of the sky.
We did most of our flight at ¾ throttle with the occasional WOT full speed presentation passes low and across the field. The Stall is very soft and straight forward on her nose with only an occasion or two of wanting to very softly drop a wing tip…She has a very easily recoverable stall behavior.
After landing of a 4 ½ minute flight, the 4s Admiral 4000 mAh batteries were checked and still had 76% left in them. Flight times of 6 to 8 minutes could easily be achieved with reserves left over using these batteries, with a little throttle management.
Since then I have flown her an additional 14 times and I prefer using 4000 mAh lipo’s…for longer flight times. The Admiral Pro 3600 mAh lipo’s are another great battery choice. Brandon Moon.
Can’t say enough about how much I love this plane!! I snapped one up before I even finished reading the review when it was featured in the AMA magazine when it first came out and was immediately out of stock.
VERY STABLE with no surprises. Watched all the info videos and set up everything but the extra rudder movement as it was jamming the nose gear when retracted. He wanted more rudder for knife edge. With the down elevator mixed in when I drop the flaps I don’t notice any change in the flight at all.
With or without flaps it gets right into the air in a hurry even off grass. Bought a 2nd one last time they had a sale as I thought they were going to discontinue it. Installed the landing gear upgrade on the 2nd one.
Good for the clumpy grass field. 2 things of note however. The pin in the nose gear retract breaks very easy if you hit too hard or hit a clump of grass, as I have to fly from grass flying sites only.
Better than the whole assembly busting guess, but need to keep extra pins in the home or field ‘service’ box. Also, I’d like to see more room in the nose pocket for the forward battery. if your battery gets a bit puffy, it can be a VERY tight fit for both the front battery and getting the cockpit/cabin piece to slide in.
Been told a puffy battery was bad, but I have LOTS of puffy batteries that charge fully and give full runs to a variety of sizes and planes so I have to disagree with that point, but a bigger nose pocket would be of help.
I had this together in 2 hours. Configured radio system with flap mix and ail/ rudder mix. The decals however , drove me crazy. as it took me well over 7 hours. I can only hope i received some bad stock decals ,as I could not easily get the product to seperate from the top vinyl.
VERY FRUSTRATING indeed. I see why most serious scale modelers are paying for quality custom markings. The model flys great and even short landings can be accomplished without any flaps, Very efficient power system, but I really wish the props turned inboard like on my P-38 ( same company ) ????? ,.
There are several reasons why single engine planes are not typically used for long distance flying. One reason is that if the engine fails, the plane will likely crash. Another reason is that single engine planes generally have a lower top speed than planes with multiple engines, so they would take longer to reach their destination.
Additionally, single engine planes are more susceptible to turbulence and other weather conditions, which can make flying long distances more difficult.
