At the time of this review, our son has been on the RTF alimentum for 3 weeks. Before that we have tried almost every formula under the similac brand Elecare which was a HARD no for us as this caused him to choke on his mucus after just one feeding.

Our formula graveyard is quite large but I think we have finally found the one. If you are on the fence, just try one bottle. RTF does not have Casein in it and Alimentum powder does, so our son couldnt even have the powder form.

It was a nightmare. He has had skin issues and major reflux including projectile vomiting with some of the formulas we have tried like pro advance. The soy/isomil made him constipated and really strain to poop.

There were pros and cons to every one we tried. We have been supplementing with formula since day 1 and went to all formula in late March. We have seen specialists and allergists, but nothing was working.

This formula plus Tubby Todd products on his skin (if you dont know, run, dont walk) work wonders for our little guy. Very little spit up if any in a whole day and his skin issues have cleared up so much.

He was spitting up every feeding all day long to the point where he wasnt gaining weight. Some people say the cost is up there but its the same cost as if you were to buy an expensive coffee or lunch for yourself every day.

If it works for your child the way it did for ours, it was a no brainer. I would say the only inconvenience is Walmart is the only brand that sells in a 6 pack and I wish there was more than 6!! We just end up buying 2 cases for us and daycare.

Walmart by far has the best price and quick delivery. Hope this helps other parents like us who were truly lost before trying the RTF. Im so relieved we found one that works!!.

My baby boy was a premie and was given Neosure by hospital, everything was great until 2 weeks later when his poops practically stopped and he turned into an angry fussy baby. I tried gripe water and homemade enemas(q-tip lubricated with petroleum jelly) to try and stimulate a bowel movement but nothing worked.

So I tried this formula and literally within hours of drinking, instant poop!! I have never in my life been that happy to see a poopy diaper! The formula shortage makes this hard to come by sometimes so I have to substitute it with Similac sensitive but I’m so thankful this saved my baby and saved me too for that matter.

My son is 4 months now and he still uses it but now I add a pinch of cereal and a scoop of pear baby food to thicken.

I LOVE THIS READY TO FEED FORMULA! Holy grail right here! My son went through all the Similac’s and this was my LAST resort before switching for the 8th time! Soy made his stools runny, pro sensitive and sensitive gave him diarrhea to where he got a bad rash.

Total comfort would cause him to spit up way too much every feed and burp. He then was diagnosed with severe GERD but ended up having Pyloric Stenosis. He was on Elecare before having surgery due to pyloric and he took it completely fine, after surgery the formula became too thin for him and was gasping for air when he would eat then we tried Nutramigen for the second time.

The first time we tried it he would spit up and not take it. Second time he took it fine but was too thin for him and stools were still runny. GI specialist recommended a ready to feed since his stomach was still sensitive after surgery and I asked her if we could try Alemintum…BEST decision of my life!!! My sons a completely different baby! eating, gaining weight, stools are no longer seedy or runny, and his spit up is at an all time low! Though, powdered formula smells WAY worse he does take both fine.

But we only give it to him when we’re on the go or traveling and RTF at home.

my daughter had a lot of feeding issues (allergies, reflux, gas, ect. ) and ended up on Similac Alimentum RTF from week 5 to month 9. Due to her age and cost, we (pediatrician and I) decided to step down to Similac Pro-Sensitive RTF so her transition to solids and possibly dairy could be easier.

plus the only way to find out if she outgrew her newborn issues is to try it. Another deciding factor was the cost of Alimentum RTF, which is $9. 99. I noticed while purchasing formula this spring, summer, and some of fall, the cost of this RTF was around $6.

99. My first purchase was made on 10/25/21 and it had gone up to $7. 29. Okay, higher than expected but still cheaper than Alimentum. 4 days later I made another purchase on 10/29/21 and it was now $8.

19!!! I started to make the switch to the powder version of this formula, but still used RTF at times. I went to purchase today and now it’s $10. 29!!!! This is $3 HIGHER than it was 10/25 and now more expensive than the Alimentum! I will have to fully switch to the powder or buy the RTF elsewhere since other major retailers have not increased their price this high, but to be fair it’s usually out of stock.

I have also checked Similac’s other RTF and the prices have not increased or only mildly increased. so why has THIS specific one gone up so much?? The formula itself is fine, nothing special and my lo seems to tolerate it fine, but not worth the big price hike.

Very disappointed in Target on this one.

As first time parents we trusted our nurses when they gave my baby Similac as his second feed. I always knew something was wrong with how uncomfortable and gassy my baby was at night time. His poop also seemed runny and much more frequent than all other babies.

We changed to Pro-sensitive sent to us by Similac (which we later found out was part of the recall) and that made our baby even worse. Finally, while looking for Similac during the shortage I stumbled upon Gerber and our baby has been a completely different baby since.

He is happy, rarely ever gassy, sleeps through the night. For mamas who are struggling with gas and grumpy baby at night know that its not normal and you should consider other options. I also dont appreciate how casual Similac was about the recall.

I do not recommend similac to other moms at all.

Do not use anything from this brand. I used it for my first child and it was all okay but My second baby was on 95% breastmilk mostly for the first 6 months of his life and was given Similac Pro health or Total comfort once a day or once every other day.

His poop on the day when he wasn’t taking formula was yellow but the day he would have the formula he would do a greensih black poop for the entire day even if he would just drink a few oz of formula.

I asked the doctor and she didn’t make it a big deal. However, one day he started to throw up the entire bottle after 2-4 hrs of being fed and burped. It kept on gojng for 2 days and on the 3rd day I changed him to Enfamil.

You guys, his poops were like a normal yellow baby poop and he is doing just fine since. No black poops anymore!!! And Right after I switched I saw the recalls on this brand.

When we had our first baby the plan was to breastfeed, but as most parents know plans don’t often become a reality. Many pumping sessions and tears later we decide to try formula. Well, once we started formula tummy trouble ensued.

Days of constipation and a screaming, uncomfortable baby on every formula we tried (pro advance, sensitive, soy, allergen free, etc). Finally in a Hail Mary attempt we tried this from a sample pack we had gotten from a friend.

Within 24 hours, our fussy inconsolable baby was happy and bubbly, having regular bowel movements, and not getting gassy fits! It’s the only thing I will use with our second now! Amazing product!.

I used this for my son since birth up until he moved to milk and solid foods. He had acid reflux real bad when he was a babh and was put on zantac by his pediatrician. To this day, my son suffers from acid reflux almost daily and I think this might have been a contributor.

Only stick to formula as a last resort!.

Worked well for our twin babies, we mixed this with the Similac Pro-Advance for added probiotics. They were born at 38wks and started on the pre-mixed version then slowly transitioned to powder mixed.

Both babies did well with this and are still doing well with this, happy and healthy 10mo olds!.

Our sons were very picky and this is the formula that they enjoy the most. Also it didn’t foam up when you shook the formula in with the water with no residue left over. It can be sometimes expensive but there are often coupons available if I were to have another child I would definitely recommend this.

It’s pricy stuff, but it seems to have a lot of good stuff in its ingredient list. I’m no pro on formula, I breast fed my other children until their second birthday and then weaned. However, the doctor advised that i supplement my current baby due to concerns about his weight and frequent reflux and colic issues.

I chose this product because it addressed all of my concerns… especially the tummy friendly concern. I only wish that it came with probiotics already mixed in. Instead I have to buy it separately and added to the bottle.

I can’t say for certain if this product actually improved my baby’s colic, but I can say it was palatable and it helped him gain the much needed weight.

My son Axxton has horrible reflux so I did my research and put him on Similac for spit up or enfamil AR (parents choice with added rice works great as well) and he did so much better! I would 💯% recommend those 3 formula products for babies with reflux.

Of course always do your research for allergy information and what not. My pediatrician also told me that some babies can’t handle too much iron and since his multivitamin had iron in it too I had to get Axxton the version of the multivitamin without iron in it so he would still of course get it.

I also prop him up or hold him at an angle during all of his feedings and for 30 min. After feedings. Make sure your taking your time burping your precious baby because that helped us significantly. Being a parent is for real.

Always so worth it. I’m obsessed with my son, he is my world. I LOVE YOU BABY AXXTON!!!!!!!!!.

My son was a massive “happy” spitter for his first 6 months. It peaked around 2-3 months, where he was spitting up 50x a day (not exaggerating). His doctor explained his esophageal sphincter wasn’t strong yet, which is common in babies, so liquid would easily flow up from the stomach.

She recommended we try this formula to help. It wasn’t a miracle product that eliminated all reflux, but it did greatly reduce the frequency. My only complaint is the price. It’s a small container for a high price.

For that reason, we switched to generic “added rice starch” formula.

I was given this formula through the hospital but like many other parents it was giving my son stomach aches and it made him extremely constipated. You need to understand hospitals are businesses and they have contracts with baby formula companies, which is why they try to push certain brands of formula.

Upon doing my own research I switched him to enfacare by enfamil which did help him catch up to his adjusted age. He is now 4 and he’s is even 70% percentile. As a parent I urge you to do your own research and advocate for your babies.

If you think something is wrong it’s because it is.

My nephew was finally put on this after they had to switch it like 3-4 times I tint why found the one that his tummy agreed with. This was the winner. Honestly I don’t have much to say just that when he was born until he was approximately 4 months old he had tummy issues.

Always constipated, sorting up, throwing up, and crying. So the doctors switched and switched his formula until they found this one. I kid you not, he was like a totally different baby. So happy all the time, smiling, and just a fun baby to be around.

So this formula did that. Before this formula he was so miserable and unhappy. If your baby is having the same issues and struggling then inform your doctor about this formula, if you haven’t already tried this yet.

This formula has been amazing and was never recalled with all the rest. Soy formula has helped keep my little ones tummy from hurting. I tried all different kinds when he was an infant and he couldn’t stomach any of them.

But soy has been best for us. If you have a milk allergy in your child or want to try something with less allergen possibilities this is a great brand and formula to use. I highly recommend this product.

The product was fine. My oldest daughter had to be on allimentum and it was really a big difference switching her over to it. She had cmpi which is a cows milk protein intolerance so she couldn’t handle other formulas.

With having to cut dairy and soy from her diet, this was the only thing she could drink. That being said, I HATED PAYING FOR THIS. It’s $40 a container and she went through 2 every 8 days. We did the math and with out coupons and the occasional free container we were gifted from family or the pediatrician samples, we spent $4160 on formula for the first year of her life.

We are a pretty well off family, we’re not rich by any means but we live comfortably and have savings and whatnot so we are lucky that we didn’t have an issue paying for it but it still hurt. I would do everything I could to get the price match guarantee or get coupons or buy $100 worth of diapers at target so I could get a $10 gift card that I would use only on formula because it’s so expensive.

Being new parents and living off on one income and having to spend this much on formula, was so stressful. We would scrape the bottom of the container and get every last speck of powder just so we wouldn’t waste it.

My youngest daughter was able to use target brand sensitive tummies thank goodness, because with inflation, we would see the impact of that. Going from $80 every 8 days to $20 a week was so nice. Even though I do recommend this product, if your baby needs this, look in to dairy free donor milk.

I bet it would be the same price and it’s breast milk.

After finding out that my baby was lactose intolerant, our doctor recommended we try this. It worked wonders! It was one of the only formulas that only worked for her. No more gassy, constipation, or fussing.

She doesn’t spit it up. She never leaves a drop behind. A little on the high end price side, but worth it for a lactose intolerant baby. The one down side is how smelly it is. Her breathe smells, neck, anywhere the formula touches it smells like stinky feet.

We went through about 4-5 different formulas before ending up on Alimentum but I’m so glad we finally found a formula that works for him. Ever since he was born he had chronic congestion and silent reflux.

We assumed his congestion was due to his reflux but after a particularly bad night of spit up and struggling to breath I grabbed my sample of this can and made him some bottles. By the third bottle of the day his congestion completely cleared up and reflux reduced and we no longer had a painfully gassy baby.

The drawback is the smell and taste (not to mention the price!).

My son was born premature an was on Similac Neosure til he transitioned to milk. From out of the hospital he was on the Ready to Feed version. Once home we got the powder form and the 48hrs he was on it I totally regret it.

The powder form did not sit well with him making him miserable and a totally different baby. I did hear a lot of the same stories about powdered Neosure not sitting right with their newborn. After putting him back on the Neosure Ready to Feed he basically went back to normal.

My suggestion if your child isnt doing well with powdered, instead of switching to a completely different formula, try the Ready to Feed version first. It might make a world of difference because this formula is great for our preemie babies!.

These are what I was given at the hospital with my second and third baby. They are the perfect size for a newborn to a month old. Quick and easy process. It comes with a top with the nipple so you just take the top off of it and add the nipple and your ready to feed that bundle of joy.

They are the perfect size for on the go, you can just grab a couple bottles put them in the diaper bag and your ready to go without having to hunt for bottles nipples and formula. which sometimes can seem way harder then it should be especially if you have multiple kids you are trying to run down and get ready.

I loved these. If your a first time mom or shoot a mom to be at all I would definitely give these a try, I promise you won’t be disappointed!.

My daughter was born 6 weeks early, so she was immediately started on neosure as soon as she entered the NICU, and continued on neosure for the next 10. 5 months. Although it’s ridiculously expensive for a small can, it helped my babe get the essentials she needed plus the all nutrients and calories.

It is a super dense formula, so my daughter would often get slightly backed up. We used a multivitamin and gave her some juice to work it out!.

This is by far the best formula on the market all the milk based ones had her throwing up and fussy as hell!!! If you are having trouble with formula switch to this I promise u won’t regret it. if she does get constipated which is better then screaming her head off from other formulas just a little prune juice an your good to go.

Highly recommend!!! Save yourself the issues an just get this one. I went through so many an idk how they sell some of the formulas on the market. its craziness. If you can’t afford the similac brand i think there’s a cheaper version and it works the same.

Help for all the moms out there.

Started my kid on the regular one but it was difficult for digesting, spitting up etc. This one is exactly the same but tummy friendly, and much easier digestion. I didn’t even try the regular one for my second.

I turned to this one right away and all was well. I also like the omega in it for brain development.

I believe every mom should sample different formulas for their baby before they decide because every baby is different. I sampled 4 different kinds of formula and this worked well for my son. He has been using it for 6 months.

He never vomits (occasionally spit up but in small amounts). It’s easy on his tummy. He’s been growing at a very healthy weight. I can’t see myself using any other formula for my son!! It’s also great for mothers who want to breastfeed at the same time! I also like how it doesn’t have an odor.

Other formulas like Enfamil had a fishy smell. This formula has no smell and mixes very easily with water. If you’re thinking about sampling this formula, I highly recommend!.

I’m in Canada and we have the red can isomil. My son is very sensitive to lactose. We tried evvvery formula available and this was the only one he actually liked and had no issues with. I recommend it to everyone that says their baby is having issues.

It is privet and usually not apart of sales, however, you can use a similac chq and a coupon together to make it cheaper. Couponing hack. I wish they would have liquid form available in Canada!!!.

This was the only product and I mean only one and we tried all of them that my daughter as an infant could keep down and kept her at a healthy weight through her first year. It can be a expensive but I believe if your state offers WIC it help reduce those costs.

Mind you this was 12 almost 13 years ago now but still this was true back then. I loved how easy it was to put in the bottle and go. This cut feeding time in half which I was truly grateful for. I knocked off one star because similar to all the soy version the smell was awful!.

My baby loves this formula! She has a cow milk protein allergy so she can only have soy and this one works amazing! No more bathroom problems or belly aches with this formula! Would recommend to try for babies who are sensitive to other formulas.

My son was switched from gentlease to this and he loves it his tummy aproves thankfully he only had mild constipation at the beginning but now is doing great.

Great formula all around. Worked very well with my little girl. Used it for over a year. Very convenient and easy to use.

Similac is the best choice product for me to use for my son as a supplement. I have used Similac from 1995 and found it to be a trusted brand. Its the only formula that my children are not allergic to and its also the closest formula to breastmilk.

My kid is 5 month old. He used to take another formula feed which is usually constipating. So, changed to this one hearing reviews. Bt he is not at all taking this. I think he dont like the flavour. Or is it due to deficient sugar? Comparing with other ones, this is less sweet in taste.

Any way, dropped this and reverted back to old one.

Similac is best product in this range. apart from value of money. its really good for health of baby. after birth of 15 days my babys weight reduced to 100gms. Then i started to use similac. In between due to non availability of similac i used lactogen and ferex plus too but my baby was not able to digest and every time was vomiting after few mins and his poop also started green.

Then again I started similac so he dont vomit now.

My baby boy just loves the taste of similac. Earlier when he was just born we use to give him breast milk plus other formula milk his weight was increasing but no as per required. Then I asked my pediatrician and switch to similac 1.

Just after one month there was a markable growth in his weight and height. It really suited my baby.

I had a fussy constipated baby. I had to have her poop with extra help. I gave her this and she was able to poop with no problems! I’ve tried total comfort, pro advance, and the orange sensitivie one ! Nothing was compared to this! I was so happy to check my child’s diaper and see poop with no problems or needing extra help! I highly highly recommend!.

This is honestly the only thing my daughter can take. I used to be on similac sensitive and regular similac however she became extremely gassy and it was hard for her to pass gas. We didnt know she was sensitive to the milk proteins until later.

We gave soy a try, and ever since it is the ONLY thing we buy her. She is a happy baby now and we have no problem at all with this formula. We are very pleased and happy parents. Thanks similac !.
