Best Sides For Chicken Wings (2025 Updated)

I understand if you have a few hairs here and there on the wings, cleaning could be easy. But each wing was packed with several hairs and feathers it was disgusting. I’m not a butcher and I didn’t grow up on a farm, seeing this made me feel uneasy.

I had a few that I washed and put in the air fryer while frozen. The packing says to cook while frozen. The issue is if you cook while frozen, you don’t see all the hairs and feathers on the wings. I know for sure on the first batch I made, I totally ate feathers and hairs.

I’m disgusted just by thinking of it. I’m never buying these again.

We have bought the chicken wings several times over the last two years. We really like wings and buy them everywhere. This last time the wings went up quite a bit in price. We thought that we would still get the same quality as before.

While we paid quite a bit more, the quality has gone way down. Every wing had hairs. Yes many hairs sticking out of every wing. The wings were fatty and not meaty. There was also bloody cartilage even though they were fully cooked.

After this experience we completely lost our taste for wings and will never buy them again.

First time buying these. Found a few with feathers. A lot had permeated bone marrow (unappetizing black stuff) All of that aside, do people think these are a bargain? When you cook these even in sous vide you should see how much solution is yielded vs fresh wings.

You’re paying for all that water and salt in the net weight of that bag, versus paying about 70 cents more for fresh wings without freezing bone marrow stuff, feathers and other stuff. The amount of solution that came out after SV was crazy.

I purchased a box of hot and spicy wings over the weekend, to have for lunch on Monday. I open the box and realized there are literally only five wings in that huge box. What a waste of my time and money! Five dollars for five wings? It’s not even enough to be a snack! Terrible packaging, terrible price, and not enough to even feed a child.

I can’t find it anymore which really sucks because I LOVE it! It’s spicy without tasting too spicy. Its not messy because it’s a dry season cooked in the batter. The meat has great flavor. You can deep fry them or place them in the oven and it taste great.

I mostly deep fried them but I’ve had them straight out of the microwave. It doesn’t lose flavor at all. I wish I could find it but I haven’t been able to find it in a few years. It was a great recipe.

When I first turned vegetarian, these were one of the only good nuggets on the market. They had a different branding, but they were my go to and, to this day, still are. I love that they are vegan now as I’m vegan now.

My husband-to-be and I eat these often. And when I say often, I mean every couple of days. We eat really healthy but these are definitely our treat “fast food”. food. Plus, all of our non-vegan / vegetarian friends love them! I can often convince an ultra meat eater that vegan food isn’t that bad when they try them.

I love the buffalo wings! This would have been 5 star but the new recipe is awful. I’m sorry but it no longer is buffalo wings it’s chicken nuggets instead. Please bring back the awesome goodness of spicy buffalo wings that we all know and love!!! This is my favorite meal for years now and I’m low key disappointment.

We were always buying this brand religiously. The original spicy buffo wings were awesome. We have tried to change our pallette to accommodate the new bland wings and unfortunately can’t. Please bring the original spicy wings back.

You have lost this family as a customer as well as our extended family and friends. We constantly discuss and verbalize the disappointment with each other. There is no simpler way than to put it. the current wings suck and need to be clipped!.

This seasoning packet makes the best hot wings you can make at home! Easy follow directions. My only complaint is that it doesn’t come with a bag to shake the seasoning and chicken in together. So make sure you have a gallon ziploc bag to mix it with.

We eat a lot of wings. I also use this seasoning on boneless skinless chicken thighs. I mix partial packs with other seasoning mixes and add to hamburgers and steak marinates. Just gives them that little extra zip.

Love this wing sauce! Nice, thick texture. I actually use it mainly with chicken strips, chicken thighs and meatballs. I find it somewhere in between mild and medium. Great taste with the garlic and parmesan.

Similar to the Rippin’ Red Mild Wing Sauce, same texture but a little less spicy. Fully recommend it to anyone wanting great taste with some kick. Used to have to order this sauce from the US. First time ordering from Chilly Chiles and extremely happy with the experience.

OMG, the exact perfect combination of subtle spices, heat and savoriness. After we had wings with this I realized there is no other sauce I want to eat for the rest of my life. Ergo, we go through 12 bottles per year.

I tried the spicy flavour at the airport. Before then I had not seen it in any shops in London. Once I tried it, I could not forget about it so when I returned to UK, I started looking for them. Eventually found them on Amazon.

I love Amazon, there is hardly anything they dont have. They are spicy, they are tangy and they are delicious. My guilty pleasure.

Bought these in the first month of lockdown because of said lockdown. Main reasons why I chose these was because aat 50g of crisps in each packet, I was hardly going to go for a second bag and b if in lockdown craze I went rogue and decided to bury myself in a crisps fugue state, I wouldnt be able to with this flavour.

Its too hot to handle more than one bag of crisps at a time. They did the job. They were delivered in the actual crisps box, with a delivery label whacked on, which makes sense of the environment. Crisps were packed inside box snuggly, and remained fresh in the time I had them.

I don’t like hot and spicy food, however I had a few of these and was hooked, burning mouth or otherwise. Totally packed with flavour. Imagine jalapeños stuff with cream cheese then slow roasted. That’s what I tasted.

Not too hard either. Go perfectly (too perfectly) with sour cream dip. Very rich and tasty. Only trouble is, I purchased them at £1, now they are £2 but I am hooked! I have rated value 2 stars because £2 is far too expensive for a bag of crisps.

I loved this breading! I was very surprised at how much chicken you can bread with just one bag. Chicken came out nice and crunchy and were perfect after tossed in some buffalo sauce. I cooked chicken for about 10-15 minutes depending on the sizes on the chicken since I used regular sized drum sticks and some were on the smaller side.

Great product will defenetly be my go to for Chicken wings next time!.

This breading does not require a binder. It gives your food a great crunch, but please remember to season.

This is the only breading my husband will use on his wings. They turn out great and are a big hit with all of his friends. A little disappointed that we have to special order it now, but so glad you have it.

This sauce is AMAZING!!! Not too hot, just enough heat so that you can taste the goodness, without burning your lips off!! I want to be able to taste the food with my heat, and this sauce allows for that! It goes on smoothly, or you can choose to dip your wings.

It has heat, but also a creamy, kind of buttery side, which just adds to it’s deliciousness! Highly recommend! You won’t be disappointed!.

All the hitters around me in Michigan have gone out of business. Love their wings l. Got a frier and the hooters breading but was having trouble finding sauce. Great deal, shipped very well. With this 3mile sauce tasted just like I bought the wings at hooter.

By far the best of wing sauces! Not only is it good for wings, but years ago while working at a Walmart competitor, we sold a “Wing Kit”, complete with this sauce, breading mix, and another ingredient (I can’t recall what).

On the back of the package, were several recipes, my favorite being H00TERS chili, which a key ingredient is this sauce. The best chili ever! Happy I can still find this sauce at a reasonable price.

Oh my goodness, this buffalo sauce is amazing. It is so flavorful and has a great amount of spice without being overly spicy. It is great on chicken, fries 🍟, pizza 🍕, and just about anything else you desire.

It is reasonably priced and delicious. I recommend this buffalo sauce and will continue to purchase it.

My personal favorite buffalo sauce. I use this on wings and of course in buffalo chicken dip! It’s great quality and it’s got a kick but definitely not too spicy at all. It’s really enjoyable.

Good but unfortunately there’s 400mg of sodium per tablespoon. If there was a low sodium option I’d be hooked!

I love to make the Tyson’s Bonless Chicken Bites with Jasmine Rice!! Delicious. Depending on where you buy this product they can be expensive but just watch what store you purchase. They are easy to make.

Whether you want the convenience of the microwave or for a better taste I would recommend the oven. Highly recommend you give them a try.

Tyson Anytiizers have saved me so many times by having these in my freezer. These little chicken “ball” as my daughter would call them when she was younger, would come in so handy on nights when we had to go to ball practice or cheer practice or games.

I love the real white meat chicken and no antibiotic that are used in the Tyson brand. I recommend these to anyone. These honey barbecue flavor are great tasting with a little spice for the day!!.

I love the flavor of these barbeque wings. My son always ask for them. They always meet my expectations. Sometimes they come out a little soggy though. Very affordable. There aren’t very many in the bag though.

You need to buy more than one bag for a larger family.

These are good quality wings. I bought them a couple times and then when they were out one time. I bought a bag of purdue wings for $11. 99 They were terrible! No exaggeration. These target wings are the only ones I will buy going forward.

They cook very easily, they are a good size and should be a staple in your freezer. Even if you dont plan on cooking them immediately, they are good to have on hand for when youre in the mood.

I was pleasantly surprised by these. I had little hope after reading a lot of reviews. But I threw these in my air fryer for about 25 to 30 minutes at 380. Flipped em halfway, and turned it up to 400 the last few minutes to crisp up the skin.

Tossed in wing sauce. Couldn’t tell the difference between these and deep fried wings. Yes its true that they shrink quite a bit. But when compared to a fresh name brand wing I previously cooked in my air fryer, these were far less chewy.

A lot less fat and gristle. And that is more important to me than the size of the cooked wing. I would buy these again.

Wings are my favorite part of the chicken, and I have been buying at Target for a while. But lately they have been really bad. I have had to return them twice recently. At first, I thought I had just bought a bad batch.

However, the 2nd time was just as bad. They taste as if they were sitting in a warehouse for weeks, thawed, then refrozen. They taste really old/stale and gamey.

Gardein so far has been one of the best ones that is able to have truly nailed the taste and texture of chicken tenders. As a transitioning plant based person these are amazing. Not all of us are life long vegans and do miss the taste of chicken and beef.

Any lifelong vegans who complain about these tenders tasting too much like chicken, are truly out of their minds and need to get their brains checked. You are the reason why people have a dislike towards vegans.

Not all of us are as, well, perfect as you. But are trying to do our best to go plant based. These are epic and delicious. Make sure you read how to cook them, so they are not undercooked and mushy as some people mentioned here.

Air fryers are honestly your best bet when cooking. One thing i wished that they removed titanium dioxide from the ingredients. We don’t care for color.

I absolutely Adore the non-spicy version of these filets. On my grocery day- for the 1st time, I saw Spicy, but also as the Only version available. So I felt I had to pick it up. This is night & day from the non-spicy version; disgusting v.

delicious! I feel bad, though believe that honesty forwards improvement (hopefully). I’ve never had issue of any kind with very spicy food & eat it regularly. However, I believe the original is a stand alone, that is perfection- & consumers agree they love option to add on to that flavor & texture, their favorite condiment(s), super spicy or not.

The Spicy version rules out the experience of any flavor at all- leaving just a sting on the mouth to deal with. I believe that Gardein should bank on dropping this, & instead focus on maintaining the following, of their already perfect quality of the original product.

Money wasted.

While I enjoy a cauliflower wing and have found other frozen “wings” to make fine snacks if less than stellar replacements, I never thought I would actually scratch the itch I’ve had since going vegan for my favourite treat.

Once I saw that these existed, I stalked my supermarket for weeks until I finally got a bag, and I’ve cleared the shelves whenever I’ve been lucky enough to see them again!! Truly better than any wings I’ve had before or since going vegan! From the texture to the sauce I wish I could buy in bottles, I’m elated! If you are extremely sensitive to spicy food, I’m sure you will be sensitive to the kick, but as someone who always opts for the spiciest option, I pleasantly surprised by finally finding an option that didn’t feel pitiful.

I certainly wouldn’t compare them to any offerings labelled Hot at a wing restaurant, but no more Mild for me!!! I haven’t seen them in stock for about a month and I’m currently going through withdrawals, so if you are a spicy food/hot wing lover lucky enough to come by a bag, buy them so there’s a demand and I can live vicariously through you!.

Figured Gardein could use a transparent review: This is our favorite Chicken patty replacement for the obvious reasons: texture, flavor, juiciness, and consistency of product. The sodium level seems to be a prevalent topic among consumers.

What is Gardein’s timeline response to updating the recipe. 2023? I hope this recipe continues to be this amazing. Even at ⅓ lower sodium, like another reviewer mentioned, would be a great move. I’m only 26 and I notice when my blood pressure spikes due to sodium levels.

It’s about the size of my pinky finger. Extremely too small. I was not expecting the wingettes to be that small. Very disappointed coming from Purdue Chicken. Why not sell the whole chicken wings

Perhaps it’s the breed of bird itself, but there are times when this chicken has an odd taste that’s not to my liking. My wife says the same thing. I’m a normal circumstances you do want to taste the difference when you try new meat, but you don’t want it to be a bad difference.

I’ve ordered this chicken quite a few times, but I do believe that something has changed and perhaps the breed of bird itself or something. So at this point I’m looking for it an alternative company to order chicken wings from.

However every other cut of meat from this company has met or exceeded my expectations.

The picture of the wings is rather misleading. I thought I was buying whole wings, but when they arrived, they were cut up portions of wings. The pieces were very small. For the price, I could have gone to my local poultry shop and bought a ten pound bag of wings.

Rubbed the skin with some herbed butter. Sprinkle of S + p. Roasted on a bed of sliced potato, onion & carrot. Splashed some champagne in the pan about 1/2 way through (it was NYE & I always add what I’m drinking to my food).

Delicious & EASY! The skin was beautifully crispy & the meat succulent. Glad that I bought a bunch of these for simple weeknight meals!.

I followed Alton Brown’s suggested and steamed for 10 mins, dried on a rack in the fridge for an hour and then baked at 425 degrees, flipping after 20 mins until done. Crispy and moist inside.

Were not uniform in size. Not meaty. Everything else I have ever received from Allen Brothers has been excellent. I was ver disappointed with the chicken wing lollipops.

Just get ‘em! My wife is mostly vegetarian, so we try a lot of non-meat substitutes. I eat meat, but I like to try the stuff she eats to keep a pulse on how close meat substitutes are getting to the real thing.

I’ve had my fair share of freezer chicken nuggets, and these definitely fit the bill. Had I not read the box and previously known these weren’t made of chicken…well, I probably never would’ve known. If you’re an omnivore like me, you’ll feel right at home.

I’m not huge on buffalo sauce, but these were fairly tame. Definitely won’t overpower you with that unmistakably spicy vinegar. These nuggets give you the experience without whacking you in the head with it.

If you’re not getting enough from the sauce, there’s nothing stopping you from adding some buffalo sauce of your own. We tried the nuggets with ranch and BBQ sauce. I personally prefer the ranch pairing with the buffalo nuggets, but I’ll let you be in the driver’s seat of your own tastebud preferences.

If you’ve decided not to indulge in meat but still crave breaded chicken, you can’t go wrong with these.

I’m really not a big fan of “meat” products but I’m Buddhist and have time periods where I need to go vegan and survive. Decided to try these to enforce my hatred of alternative “meats”. These were really good and surprised me.

I’m allergic to jackfruit sap and wasn’t sure what would happen if I ate these but it turned out fine. Tasted like the Dino nuggets. Guess I won’t starve this week.

These were so delicious I had to double check the box to make sure they were plant based! I have been vegetarian for 10 years and these are hands down the best plant based nuggets on the market. The consistency wasn’t mushy like other nuggets and had a very meaty texture.

You really can’t tell how many are in the package because its just weighed at a pound. Wings usually are eaten by the number. Some packages contain only five pieces, some have more because there’s no drums in the package.

I understand its random but you have to thaw first so you can count. I thawed three pounds and there were 22 pieces for three people. We made it work. The way I baked the wings made them taste good and stayed healthy.

For many years, living in the North, I always bought Perdue Wingettes; they were number 1 in my view, however, I now live in Florida and Perdue products are not available anywhere by major chain stores.

I ordered here on-line but I am very disappointed in the product I received. The wings are the smallest I’ve ever seen! Nor are they plumb and juicy like I used to buy. Such a disappointment.

I received 6lbs of wings that was either bruised or had ice on them or frostbite. They say money back guarantee but it’s not that easy. It’s a process in getting your money back. You have to take photos of the bad product you receive, then they give you a reference number and you have to wait to get an approval for the refund.

The supervisor has to read all notes and look at photos and make a decision on what they are going to refund you; if anything. I don’t know if I would purchase from them again, although it comes from different warehouses, so, it’s a possibility it may not come from same warehouse and might get a better quality product.

But, I will see. It will depend how much longer I will have to wait to get a refund. It’s been about two days now. Customer care was very polite.
