I just got my chair today and put it together in less than 15 minutes. It really is a no-brainer when you look at the parts. Although, I should have used my brain a little better as on the first go-round I put the back bars facing down instead of up and had to them off and turn them around.

LOL A contortionist couldn’t have made that work! I’m 65 and did it super simple. I gave it 4 stars simply because I haven’t used it in the shower yet. I did sit on it and it seems pretty sturdy. I’m confident at this point it was a good buy.

When I got it put together right it looks just like the picture. I like that it’s adjustable height too. A word of caution if you are using this in a bathtub shower. You must measure the distance between the legs to make sure that it fits inside your tub.

I almost made that mistake before reading someone else’s review! It does fit in my tub with little room to spare, but that’s okay. It works!.

This is a great shower chair. The price was reasonable. Assembly took less than 20 minutes. The chair was easy to assemble. The weight was good. Not too heavy and not too light. Rubber pads on the bottom of the feet of the chair to keep it still in the shower.

It was very comfortable with arm rests and extendable legs to accomodate the length of your legs. I would recommend this chair to everyone. even to those who do not need a shower chair! It is very relaxing to sit down while taking a shower and enjoy the relaxation.

This is a good sturdy chair and I really like the fact there’s no metal to rust on it. The legs adjust easily and the indicator ensures all four legs are evenly adjusted. The only reason this isn’t a five-star rating is the width of the seat.

I bought this for my mom and the seat is a little narrow for a larger woman. I’m not sure whether I should take off the arms or not this will be a trial and error situation. Her shower has stainless grab bars, my concern is if she grabs one of them and pushes off on one handle of the chair the chair might tip.

So it’s probably best to remove both handles.

We have a shower unit that has a built in bath seat. However, the built in seat isn’t big enough and it makes the usable space limited. This wouldn’t normally be a problem, but my husband uses a power chair and can only walk a couple steps.

I thought we’d have to have the shower unit removed and a new, more open unit installed so I had two estimates for this project. The estimates ranged from $2,300 to $3400!! On our budget this was not an option so I decided to try a bath seat.

I use a ceiling track and lift and sling to get him into the shower and this seat is just the right size. Not only is the seat larger and very comfortable, the legs are independently adjustable. I raised the 2 front legs up so that my husband sits back securely into the bath seat.

Because we use a lift and sling to get him onto the bath seat we don’t use the 2 removable arms. I highly recommend this sturdy bath seat because of its versatility. It’s a great product and the price is so reasonable!.

This chair is great for what I needed it for. I am having hip replacement soon and needed to stay off my hip for the time being. It was very easy to put together. It’s sturdy and fits in my walk in shower.

The arms and back give a lot of stability. I can recommend it for any one that needs a shower chair.

Putting it together was easy; it is very sturdy and does not wobble (I have mine in the bathtub). I take extra precautions and have a bathmat underneath — since I do not want to slip getting in or out.

I feel safer with the back support (the last such shower seat I had did not have a back support). Because my bathtub is surrounded by wall-mounted grab bars, I was not certain I needed the side arms.

(I have had a mobility disability for 75 years, polio at age 2, so I learned to have as safe an accessibility environment as possible. ) But I am glad that I got the seat with both back and side arms: I installed the side arm which is close to the wall; I did not install the one where I transfer from my wheelchair.

The one close to the wall has proven to provide me extra safety — and the rubber grip is secure and stable. Because of the way the side arms are attached, there is no wobbling, very secure and sturdy.

This is well worth the price in my opinion.

The chair was easy to put together. It should have had the weight limit(250 lbs.) up front since they made a big deal out of the limit in the instructions. That is the reason it only got 3 stars.

This was the best shower chair for my grandparents when they were sick and too weak to stand in the shower. The feet were very secure and didn’t slide and the handles we’re able to support their weight when they stood up.

I like that this one had a backrest so they could lean up against it. This was recommended by their nurses and paid for by their insurance which was even better. Their nurses liked it and said it was easy for them to help them shower.

It gave them more of a feeling of Independence.

This shower chair has all the features we needed and was very easy to assemble. No tools were required. The back and arms provide excellent comfort and safety. And it is light enough to move easily into and out of the tub or shower when needed.

This is very useful for my 90 year old grandmother who has trouble getting up and down steps. Ever since getting the shower chair she feels less anxiety about taking a shower alone. She now feels comfortable alone in her own home to do the things she pleases.

My husband is battling a terminal illness and is in need of assistance showering. I purchased this chair because, as his only caregiver, it would make it easier on myself and him. My time is limited due to daily radiation treatments that cause us to travel long distances every weekday.

My first disappointment was in that it was not assembled, but came all in pieces that had to be put together. The very first thumb screw that was suggested was too short and didn’t even come close to the hole it was supposed to fit in.

Would never recomment this product. Walmart has always been preferred over Amazon because their return policy has always been good. Now, I find out I cannot return a defective item, it is disheartening and will affect future purchases.

Quality is just not important to manufacturers these days, it seems.

First off it does not fit in our bathtub at all. secondly if you take the back off to try and sit on it sideways the screws are to long and push up into the seat part like they are about to come through it.

Thirdly its very unsteady, it falls over very easily. we bought it because we knew a bigger one wouldn’t fit in our tub but this smaller one doesn’t either. Im 36 weeks pregnant and have 2 herniated discs crushing the nerves to my legs, 1 buldging disc and another disc completely out of place pinching my spinal cord.

After the baby is born I have to go. have back surgery so we were hoping for something I could use for awhile. Save yourself the hassel and just get the extra long one that for sure will go over one side of the tub but also still be in the tub if your bathtub is on the smaller or narrower side.

it is a good unit and was easy to put together. It did however arrive broken and apparently was broken before shipment since the piece was in the bag with other parts not just loose in the box.

Do not trust this chair for someone who is disabled. The plastic cracked on the front leg and thank god my husband did not go down in the tub after his hip surgery. I think the one front leg plastic cracked after he would slide around to get out of the tub and was probably putting too much weight on the one leg.

Just please don’t trust it and end up back in the hospital.

My grandson was using my stool while recouperating from an ankle tendon lengthening surgery. When he went back home he still needed support in the shower so I got this Carex Swivel Stool and it is great.

It took a little extra time to get here but it was packaged very well and was undamaged. It works much better than mine that does not swivel. It works very well with the swivel action and the different heights it can be set at.

A lot less worrying about falling over because you can just soap up and swivel to rinse off under the shower without risking getting up and down. I will probably be upgrading my own as well. Would highly recommend.

I spent more for this one due to the swivel seat. But it doesn’t swivel not even when I’m not sitting on it. Otherwise it IS well made. I love the adjustable legs and it does provide the help I needed and the feet are very stable.

It works even in our small shower space. But I should’ve saved the $$ and gone with the one that didn’t claim to do something it wouldn’t.

I have a bad knee and a small bathtub, so needed a small stool. I found this one, and thought I would give it a try as I liked the idea of the seat swiveling. IT arrived undamaged and was as the product claimed it to be.

It fits my small space and the adjustable legs make it easy for me to sit on. The suction cups on legs are a plus.

I have a shower chair that does not have handles and does not have the support for my back. I have Multiple Sclerosis and only WISH I had this chair instead of the one that I have now. My mother has Multiple Sclerosis and I purchased the Nova Ortho-Med Bath Seat for her after she fell in the shower. The seat itself is pretty revolutionary as it allows the user to gain back much of their independence.

The Arms and back provide extra support when standing up and the product is incredibly sturdy. I should mention that I also find this seat easy to clean. I’ve found that, in researching products, many customer reviews talked about porous material and having to scrub the item clean.

I haven’t had any problems keeping this product looking like new.

The table was easy to assemble. In one of the seats the bolt would only go in at an angle and jam before it was tight. Eventually had to elongate the hole so that the bolt aligned better. However, after finally getting it all assembled I am delighted with the set.

We had these style of chairs before so we knew they’d be comfortable. Previous (brown) ones we used outside but these grey ones look lovely in our new kitchen/conservatory. Also very impressed with delivery in 2 days!.

I bought this for my 86 year old mother when she was coming to visit our house to use at the dining table. She has a lot of trouble getting out of standard chairs these days, and the little arms on this chair really help her boost herself up.

She said the secret to the screws not being perfectly lined up is to insert every screw just a little bit until theyre all in place, then tighten them all up. She had the second chair assembled in about 5 minutes.

I just had our bathroom remodelled to create a walk-in shower for my husband who had a stroke four years ago. I decided to try this one out because it was at a good price point, had a more attractive design than most handicap? shower seats I’ve seen, and the mesh seat was appealing.

We have been using it for a couple of weeks now and I can say that it’s just perfect its geometry makes it strong and light-weight. The ergonomics make it very comfortable for my husband who is on the heavy side.

We opted not to use the arms because there are plenty of grab bars in our shower. I see that some folks feel the assembly is complicated, I did not find it complicated but you do have to spend more time than the more clunky handicap shower seats because this sturdy structure of this simple chair is reliant on a series of screws that draws all of the metal channels together into a very tight and strong unit.

Our bathroom is very modern clean and simple this chair fits in and functions perfectly.

We purchased this chair for my father-in-law who has become very unsteady on his feet. The chair is wider than anticipated – it fits in a stall shower but just barely and the handles make navigating the glass doors tricky.

We placed it with the back under the shower head (ours is removable, with a hose) so that my mother-in-law could also use the shower without needing to take the chair out each time. Assembly was straightforward and all the pieces were included.

The chair legs are adjustable using the metal button/multiple opening system. Some of the buttons were difficult to push in and one of the legs was so difficult to move that two of us needed to pull simultaneously which ended up with my thumb getting caught in the opening with the button.

Ouch! Once assembled, the chair was not flush on all four legs. The moment you sit on the chair it remains steady and, when unoccupied, the wobble is not enough to cause the chair to tip but for someone with mobility and balance issues, this could be problematic as they use the chair to get in or out of the shower and/or seat.

This Carex Bath Seat and Shower Chair with Back is exactly as advertised – very sturdy (weighs about 9 pounds and can hold up to 400 pounds), no wobbles, with a wide and deep seat to help those who may have difficulty showering while standing.

The item assembles in five steps: snap in each of the four legs then snap in the back; the legs are packed unextended and can be lengthened by turning the rubber-capped feet counter-clockwise. The back is, honestly, optional; I initially attached it but found it hard to get the spray from the hand-held shower all the way down my back and rear with the seat back in place and so removed it before the next use.

much better. The worsening arthritis in my legs and lower back has made showering quite a trial over the last few years but, thankfully, this shower seat has made the process significantly easier. Well worth the price!.

This shower chair is easy to assemble, however they neglect to include in the directions, how to elongate the legs. Mine came with two legs matching in length, and the second set another length. To move the legs up or down, first remove the black foot cap (it pulls off with a little effort, and easy to replace).

I needed to use a thin rubber kitchen pad that helps give a little traction when twisting the leg to > or < length. Count the number of white rings exposed to estimate length you are adding, to assure all 4 legs are the same length.

Replace black foot caps. One of the best features is there are no metal parts/screws to rust. Easy to wipe down, it dries quickly, and has a bit more weight which makes it more stable. Wider than any other I’ve seen, but still fits inside a standard tub-shower.

I’ve gone through 4 shower seats (the ones with the skinny legs) in less than 2 years despite being below the weight limit. The last one I bought started bending after it’s 2nd use! They must have a flaw in the design! So we searched around and found this one with thicker legs, for the first time in a long time I feel safe in the shower again.

Sitting on this seat feels as comfortable as a heavy dining room chair so I have no worries about bending it and ending up in the floor. I haven’t had it long so I can’t attest to it’s durability yet but I’m sure I’ll be able to give it praise there in a few months.

I will say the chair does take up about half the length of my standard tub because the seat depth is plenty wide and because the back of my tub slopes. However, it fits perfectly for the width so that was most important to me.

I measured the bottom of my tub and also the top from side to side to make sure it would fit before buying. It has drainage holes in the seat and it’s not slippery to sit on from my experience. You could always use a hand towel on it if you find it slippery.

Very easy to assemble and height adjustment is just screwing or unscrewing the bottom of the legs and they can be different heights for an uneven surface, I didn’t put the back on mine because I don’t really need it but is nice to have if I change my mind.

The legs are thick plastic just like the chair and feels very secure sitting on it. Love it!.

The chair doesn’t take up that much room in the shower. We have a fixed and handheld fixture, so I used the handheld one while seated. Never felt unsafe for a second, even when rising from the chair.

We replaced a plastic shower chair, with this chair for the following reasons: 1. This chair is height adjustable, which makes a huge difference for a person who has difficulty getting in, or out of a seated position (easily changed if needed).

2. This chair has sturdy arm rests to aid getting in and out of the chair (easily installed, or removed). 3. This chair has a backrest to help the user feel more secure when seated (easily adjusted, or removed).

4. This chair has very large, rubber pads on the ends of the legs, which plant the chair very securely on a textured shower floor. All of the adjustable features are accomplished by simply pushing in a spring loaded pin with your thumb, and sliding a tube with holes in it in or out, past the pin.

This is exactly the same set up as is used to adjust crutches. The only criticism I have is related to the assembly instructions for the seat back to its metal tubes, and the center screw for the legs to seat.

The parts pack came with 5 spring / lock washers, but there is no mention of where to use them. I figured out that they are to be used with the large, curved washers, to secure the M35 bolts. Even the diagram was inconsistent (figures #2 & #3).

I had a new walk in shower installed so my elderly father could use it easily. Obviously he still needed to be safe & this shower seat is ideal. Especially as it has arms to assist his sitting/standing.

This is pretty easy to assemble and carry to the tub. This is a little wider than I thought, so it has to sit at a wider point in our tub closer to the middle. I personally haven’t used it but my wife has and she really likes it.

I can leave it in the tub and still have room to shower standing up. I would not put too much weight on the backrest handle because it tips over too easily. Please be careful while using this. Have someone install permanent handrails if something sturdy is needed to get in and out of the tub.

I’ve been having difficulties with back pain and standing to take a shower has not been pleasant. I didn’t think this chair would fit in my shower but, it’s perfect! I still have space to stand if I desire but, I won’t.

Being able to sit and relax while bathing makes a great difference for me at this point. And due to up and coming surgeries, this is certainly a welcome addition without having to have my shower completely renovated.

This was purchased as a replacement to the same product purchased eight years before. Sometime in year seven the legs broke where they meet below the seat cover. This new chair is narrower than the old one as is the stance of the legs where they sit on the floor.

This difference is the reason for the ‘dislikes” above. Otherwise, I expect the same service from this new chair.

This shower chair is a premium upgrade to the cheaper white plastic ones that you typically see. It certainly looks better but I will say it also functions better too. Assembly does take about 20 minutes.

The directions are good, but there are a plenty of screws holding it together. It does need to be sturdy so this is to be expected. Once assembled you will have a good strong chair. I like the adjustable legs as this makes setting the height easy.

I do wish it had a micro adjustment for leveling it out on a sloping shower floor. Still depending on your floor you may have to move it around a bit and play with the leg settings to get it right. I would not recommend this for a tub.

Most people who would need this type of chair probably would benefit from a walk-in shower as well if possible. This is really too large for a tub. There are other seats specifically made for tubs. I do like the soft cushioned seat mat.

I like that it is removable for drying and cleaning. All the other parts are plastic or aluminum and have antimicrobial properties. Still you will need to clean the seat periodically to remove soap buildup and otherwise keep it clean.

I would recommend a light spraying with hydrogen peroxide as a bleach alternative. It works good on preventing mold and mildew. Better yet is to have a good bath ventilation fan and air flow that will allow quicker drying of the bathroom shower, fixtures and chair.

This is certainly more expensive than the cheaper versions but it is obvious of the quality difference when you see them side by side. I would recommend this chair to anyone needing a sturdy, better looking and more capable shower chair.

I just had our family home remodeled to accommodate my 93 year young mom where I am her full time caregiver. I wanted mom to have the accessibility when the time comes because she is up in age. I wanted something different other than the color white because my bath/shower room is grey, chrome, and silver.

I had to get a friend to put it together only because I didn’t have the extra time. It came with all its parts and tools. It took less than 30 minutes to assemble. It is very sturdy, comfortable, adjustable, so easy to clean, and fits in my mom’s bath tub.

Mom is about 130 pounds at 5 feet tall. It is not made for a person with wide hips and plus size like me.

Unfortunately, the mfgr. didi NOT list the width of the chair, and this caused problems as most of our tubs, in keeping with the preservation of our 4-plex are only 26 inches wide. The chair is 28 inches wide.

And this width is NON adjustable. Hence, we were not able to use the chair in any of our tubs. We are maintaining as much original as possible on this building since it is 80 years old, so we have NOT changed out any tubs.

The height adjusts for the user but not the width. I ended up placing it in one of our walk-in showers, but that’s NOT where I really wanted it. Had I known the width was too much for our tubs, I would not have gotten it.

Otherwise, it is a solid and well constructed chair. Weight limit is 250 pounds, and it has a variable height, solidly constructed. So if you need a tub chair that is 28 inches wide, or you have a large walk-in shower, this would be a good purchase for you.

My chair was ordered April 26th and arrived on May 5th, so shipping was timely. It was packed quite thoroughly, so some people may need tools or help unpacking it. Putting the chair together was fairly simple, just put the pieces together until the locking pins engage, truly no tools required.

Though it feels rather delicate and rickety once standing, I am 185lbs, I would not trust it to hold 300lbs, especially the back support. The chair also isn’t adjustable to a lower height, I am 5’7″ and found it slightly too tall on the lowest setting.

The chair also becomes rather dangerous when you are soaped up, first time using it I slid out of the chair. Thankfully I am strong and coordinated enough it is not too big of an issue for me, but someone who is more disabled may struggle, definitely use the arm supports as they help keep you in the chair.

The chair also has a tendency to slowly slide in the tub, every morning I have to lift the chair and put it back at the front of the tub. The chair is fairly lightweight but some people may struggle moving it on their own.

My biggest concern though is that the foam padding is already separating from the chair even though I have only had it for 19 days. I do have to say I thoroughly enjoy the swivel function, that is easy to use and makes getting in and out of the tub a breeze.

If I ever need another chair in the future though, I will not be getting this chair again, I cannot justify the price for the quality received.

i recently purchased this chair to use in my enclosed shower and fine it just excellent. I can get seated and then swivel the chair to get the most out of the raining shower. I liked it so much, I tried it at my computer desk and have recently ordered a second one for this purpose.

I can back my walker up to the chair, and then swivel into position. I feel safe and secure in both places. Mercedes in Gibsons.

My wife got this chair for me to help with showers. I have MS and balance issues; I can’t stand in one position for any length of time. This seat is an absolute life-savor. It is light-weight but sturdy as a blacksmith’s anvil.

The rubber feet are impossible to move/slide by accident. I could not recommend it more highly.

The stool is made of great quality material, very sturdy, and easy on the eyes. The stool arrived on time, but upon assembly the parts were incorrect. I worked for a durable medical equipment company for years and the stool is very simple to put together when the appropriate parts are sent.

I am sending the stool back, not sure if I will order this same stool or not.

This chair cost way more than other chairs, but is worth it. It wasasy to assemble, quality materials, easily adjusts back, arms, legs for custom fit and stability. Purchased for Mom (89). Keeps her comfortable and safe while showering in a standard tub.

Worth the extra $$.

This bench is fantastic! It is heavy duty but still light enough for me to move in and out of the tub with a bad back. The assembly was super easy and the instructions are clear. If you pay attention to the illustrations you will find this super easy to assemble.

What makes it even easier is that the pieces fit together easily and don’t have to be forced. The pop-up pegs make for easy adjustments to the height. My husband loves this bench and the holes in the seat allow the water to drain so it doesn’t pool on the seat.

The shower head clip on the side bar might seam like a small thing but it has actually proven to be a huge benefit for someone with limited range of arm motion for reaching. I am thankful now that I decided to spend an extra $30 over the first bench I considered.

This bench is top quality, easy to assemble and worth every penny!!!.
