20 Best Shorts For Skinny Legs (2023 Updated)

I love these shorts, but they are NOT what I would call a Beech color, which I think of as closer to a khaki brown. And that is how these appear on the Rhone website. These are more of a greenish brown.

Closer to an olive color than a brown. I still love them, but was definitely surprised when I received them in the mail.

I have a bunch of older Rhone products and love them but the new material doesn’t compare. They run VERY small. I am always size 30 and got a 32 in these the 2nd time and they’re still tighter than I would like.

Will be returning unfortunately.

These are great everyday shorts that look sleek and stylish while remaining 100% functional, can wear this short anywhere. Only slight drawback is the sizing seems to be a bit smaller than listed. I’ll be buying more, just one size up!.

The price was such that I could buy 4 pairs of these shorts in various colors. They fit great when purchased. Having now washed them all, it feels like they have shrunk a bit so they are all a little too tight when I put them on.

I wash all my clothes in cold water and dry on low heat. Another reviewer is correct in that the shorts stretch out upon wearing, but I have to put them on early enough for that to happen prior to heading out for the links.

Also, surprisingly, I have to iron them prior to wearing – they are pretty wrinkled after pulling from the dryer.

I have several pairs of these shorts. My only suggestion would be do not wear these shorts in the rain. I got caught in a severe thunder and lightning storm with very HEAVY rain. As I was trying to get back to my car, I looked down at my shorts and they were at least three times larger than when they were dry.

It was hysterical! I washed and dried them and they came out beautiful. Right back to their original size (10). So if there is a possibility of rain during your round, I would wear a different pair just to be safe.

I wish they came in a curvy fit because by the time I get them over my butt, it stretches the waist. Also, it would be nice to see these shorts in more colors and patterns.

Like the texture and stretch of the denim material used. Color does run on first wash and fades even tho’ line drying. Interesting note: usually wear size 16 comfortably. However, when a Black and Midnight was ordered, size 16 was too tight probably due to the type of material used.

Did not stretch like the denim and tends to be wrinkled after using dryer. A size 18 was a better fit in these types of material. Was unable for to order a Black walking shorts during your recent 25% off sale.

Comfy shorts. Great liner that helps with any chafing.

They are amazing quality, I washed them once and then end of one of the drawstrings came off, but underneath it is a solid end as well so it’s still functional. The color and overall material is great though!.

I ordered a pair of these and “The Quests” also in 7″ and I’m not sure if it was an issue of simple quality control or this style in particular but these had a liner that was a lot tighter (uncomfortably so) around just one of the pant legs, as well as being lined with holes along the vertical seam of the liner as well.

The other pair are absolutely flawless though so I hope it’s just a matter of quality control and not this style being particularly problematic.

These slightly stretchy shorts run a bit large, love the length and they can be used for a more dressed up look than regular shorts. I bought the white color and noticed that the tag recommended dry cleaning which would be absurd for anting white so I washed them by hand.

They appear to have survived and will machine was on delicate next time.

These shorts are amazing in many ways. the cut, the fabric, great pockets (no gaping); a wardrobe no brainer essential you will reach for over & over. The fabric has a perfect amount of stretch for comfort, they are cut straight (love love love), can be worn in SO many ways from casual (linen denim shirt or tee shirt) to business casual, paired w a jacket.

Very classy and comfortable shorts. I love the way how it stretches. I am 5ft8, 128lbs, size 4 fits a bit loose but classy loose but length is just right above knee and it is nice.

I LOVE THIS material. It’s by far the most comfortable for my body. It supports while you workout, but it’s not so tight that you can’t breath. Makes your back side look so sexy no matter how small or big you are.

These shorts were my first bombshell purchase. The material is soft, buttery and comfortable and super flattering! I struggle to find bottoms that are actually high waisted. I have a big butt and the stitching usually cuts across it rather than above it which makes a lot of cuts unflattering.

These don’t do that! If you have this problem too, you’ll know what I’m talking about. Great length too! I did size up, I’m usually a S and went M. Will definitely be making future purchases.

Love the style of these shorts. Fit very much true to size. Comfortable to work out in. I like the scrunch butt, however the “tiny waist” feature isn’t completely necessary. It isn’t flattering in my stomach area.

My waist looks tinier in the curves shorts.

I bought these because they were on clearance, but the product didn’t disappoint all. The style of the shorts is really cool, its got a reflective pattern that doesn’t overpower or look flashy. The under-short design blends well with the short as well and creates a nice compression.

Its a short that I intend to use for workouts as well as going to the pool or beach.

Great looking shorts. I am 5’8 and have a 32 waist. I ordered a small as I had previously bought the Quests in a small. However these are much more snug and don’t seem to stretch out and remain stiff.

Really thin material. Sized smaller and tighter than usual. Length is weird. I’m 5’3, and they stopped just barely below the knee, not long enough. I would roll them up. Not good quality at all. Definitely not worth the price.

I absolutely LOVE these shorts. Brought them for quarantine yoga and they were perfect. Could lso be worn as underwear they are so comfy. I ordered 2X so im not small at all and i didnt have to worry about chafing or squeezing.

I really liked these when they arrived. I wore them to a festival with the bottoms rolled up (just like in the model photo). The strong sun bleached the colour, and now they look weird when they aren’t rolled up as the fabric that wasn’t exposed to the sun is a darker colour.

Stylish comfort, good length with a bit of stretch, no drawstring waist. Colour goes with everything which is added bonus.

It’s a bit on the snug side. It still fits and it looks fine, but it’s a slightly tighter fit than what 32″ usually is for me.

I bought these short because I am sick of wearing unnatural fibres in this humidity. I rock climb, do HIT training, yoga and general mum life. The cut and fabric of these shorts are superb. They feel so soft and are very flattering.

I’ve got two colours black and olive. The side pockets are great. Fit was spot on I am an 8 and I got a small. Length isn’t too short to be too revealing. This company takes its sustainability seriously and I will definitely keep supporting them for that and their great products.

I had a little trouble finding the right size for me. Originally ordered a size Medium as I’m normally a 6-8 in women’s pants (I’m 5’5”, 140 lbs) and that’s the size undies I have. However, couldn’t even get the size M past my knees!! Exchanged for a size L….

got them on this time but the seam dug into my thighs and the whole thing was too tight!! So exchanged for XL and they fight much better! Still a little tight around the thighs (the thread for the seams doesn’t really stretch) but also a little too loose around my waist now.

But overall I really love these shorts! They are breathable and so soft and I love the handy pockets!.

Boody’s activewear has dramatically improved since they added cotton to the mix with their activewear. I bought their active tights a few years ago and they were awful – weirdly clingy and not flattering, no pockets, not breathable.

Fastforward to recently going out on a limb and trying these shorts and and I could not possibly ask for anything to change. They’re soft, thick enough to be flattering and mask underwear line a nice amount, but still thin enough to be very breathable and allow for uninhibited movement.

They’re also short enough to actually fall just a few cms below the bum on me. I’m short and ‘shorts’ always end up closer to my knees than my bum. I wear these on those heat wave days when you’re expecting 36+ and they make me feel as cool as is possible in the circumstances.

The pockets also take up as much real estate as is possible given the garment’s dimensions, which I love because I tend to shove lots of different bits and pieces in my pockets to have handy when I’m cycling.

I have purchased these in the past and love them for working out, very comfortable. However, I have now been shipped two items that were clearly already returned to Old Navy. One had their own sticker showing where there was a hole in the shirt.

The other was these shorts, in which the drawstring was sewn into the waistband. And the bad part is that it had a return label already on it. The quality control needs to be better.

It’s very similar to fabletics. It has the same waist band but the draw strings are in the inside which is nice. I didn’t have to use them because a medium fits me nicely so I didn’t have to tighten them.

The material is light and the pockets actually keep my phone, keys and wallet in without them falling out when I sit down like some shorts. These are nice shorts especially for the price!.

Description said slim fit so I went for them but when the order went through I noticed they were described as a regular fit. Shorts were not slim and they were a final sale item. Couldn’t beat the price but the differing descriptions is a bit annoying.

Might not have bought them if I had known they were a boxy/regular fit. Have had other Theory shorts and they were all slim fitting. Didn’t know the Zaine shorts came in different cuts. Now I know for next season to be extra careful.

You can tell the subtle difference in the clothes and that makes all of the difference. Please keep the brand costs low. After a week of discovering the brand, I now own 2 shorts and 1 long pair of pants.

I’ve bought these shorts over the years. I love them! When you you carry weight, especially in the thighs, you want a long short to cover things up and nice ones are not easy to find. I recently lost some weight so could no longer wear the 3.

Yea m petite 4’9”” 108lbs; I ordered 0 equivalent to a size 4 which is my perfect size. However, Chico pants always have a little more hip room which I don’t need. If I down size to 00 it would be too small so buying pants for me here is a gamble.

That said, the length, weight of material and the no zipper waste band is very nice. I will keep but in the future won’t purchase more.

These are made of a light, slightly textured fabric that has a bit of stretch. Very breathable, and comfortable in the heat. They look polished, no workout wear vibe going on here. The back flap pockets give a bit of a rugged look, while the rest of the shorts are streamlined.

Runs a bit small. I typically wear a 33”-34” waist in jeans and shorts. Occasionally I’ll go for a 36” waist in more traditionally tailored products. On this item, I started with a 34” but there was no way—returned and got a 36” but still awfully snug.

(Honestly does not feel like 2” more than the 34” waist).

I bought these shorts for my husband just before Christmas and they look great on him, a really good cut and fit. Good quality fabric with some stretch for comfort, he really liked them. They were fairly expensive but worth it, they were on sale so I bought him another two pairs in different colours which look just as nice as the navy blue ones.

These have been my go-to shorts every year. Returning this and the Italian stretch shorts too (so double reviews here). Why are the slim shorts so baggy? Stretch but like. not baggy a stretch that it looks like I’m waddling in pockets of air.

Perfect fit. A little stretchy so you can do activities in them but not too stretchy. The material is soft and comfortable but very durable. I spilled a bunch of hand sanitizer on them and it just wiped right off.

No mess. I’ve spilled water on them, wicked off and dried immediately. I got the 7 inch inseam I don’t like long shorts they are comfortable and look great. Best shorts I’ve owned, no exaggeration.

Love the fit on these, not too tight and not too loose. No vanity sizing on these, the waist measurement is measured as stated, so you may need to size up. The deep khaki stains relatively easily, but no big deal.

Got another pair in light grey on the way. The button mechanism is sleek and convenient, and the fabric feels moveable yet substantial. Great Summer shorts – I’ve tried Everlane, Oakley, and American Eagles; these top all of them.

Nice slim (not skinny) fit. I bought them in black. They fit true to my waist size. Bottom hem is creased and twice folded. Looked best for me when folded once (glad the double fold was not tacked). The double fold it came with made the shorts too short.

I only have a 32” inseam. I can imagine these being too short for those who have long legs. Don’t listen to others who recommend getting a size larger. I think vanity sizing has everyone confused.

Like the slim chinos, these fit really well, comfy and surprisingly great quality. Best of all the length is perfect – it sits in between 9 and 7 inch – not too long and baggy but also not too short and airy.

I ordered a W32 but came a W34, fortunately still wearable. Thought that metal buttons were more stylish than plastic ones used for the shorts. Overall speaking, it was good and comfy to have it on.

These are the only running shorts I buy. I love the quality and fit. Fabric has a slight stretch so you can move freely without any restriction. Great all around short. Wear them while running, hiking and strength training.

These are so comfy. The waist band is the most comfortable pet of these bike shorts. I bike on them but do not do high intensity workouts in them. Not enough compression for me.

TTS but I sized up from my legging size for ZERO compression…they feel great. Hated the coral as they showed my flaws lol…but these are more forgiving.

I really wanted to like these shorts (I especially liked the idea of the front pocket zippers), but I was not happy with them, and so I ended up returning them. My first issue is the color: In the advertised picture of the shorts, the Storm Khaki looked more tan in color, but upon receiving them, I found their color to be closer to olive, which I wasn’t interested in.

Bear in mind, I do like an olive color for shorts, but I was looking for tan. The other issue was with the front button or snap above the front zipper (I can’t remember if it was a button or a snap, but regardless, it would come undone on its own).

I should have heeded the other reviews I read about these shorts, where the reviewers also pointed out problems with the front button/snap.

The zipper on these shorts (both pairs I own) gets stuck when unzipped. One got so badly stuck that even pliers could not free up the zipper! That pair is going in the mail to K°hl today for warrantee replacement.

I am 53 y. o. and have worn shorts for years (lived in many hot climes), and have NEVER had shorts with a zipper that gets stuck like this. This is a quality brand that I really enjoy, but this quality oversight is disappointing.

Other than that, love them. They fit snugly. but come on guys, unless you are very large (not judging, just saying if you are hefty, you need more give), slimmer fitting clothes just look better – the 80’s baggy cargo shorts are out of style (for now)!.

I got my first pair for a trip to Costa Rica – was told I needed quick drying hiking shorts because of the rain and humidity. I am addicted to them now and just got my 3rd pair. Unlike other reviewers I have never had a problem with the snap – not once.

Since Covid I’ve been working from home and literally wear one of the 3 pair every single day except in the dead of winter. They look good, they’re slim, they wash easily, they have that great phone pocket and 2 small zipper pockets as well.

Besides wearing them while working I use them for my biking shorts and for hiking. These have been the best shorts I’ve ever owned and I’m super happy with them.

My favorite are still the compression shorts but these are a close second! At 5’10 190 pounds, these fit like a dream and one advantage they hold over the compression shorts and they are damn comfy too, so good for the gym or home :).
