20 Best Shoes For Track Runners (2023 Updated)

Bought for my 9yo daughter and she’s really happy with them. Spikes aren’t the most comfortable shoes but these have been less weird than some of the others we’ve tried and fit her better. She spent a full hour at athletics wearing them and no pain or blisters!.

Love these sprint spikes. I’ve never bought puma previously but now that I have I can definitely say that they are the best sprinters I’ve used yet. They are very comfortable and supportive. Definitely recommend.

I’ve had a lot of spikes over the years and these are one of favourites. Quite heavy compared to most spikes but it makes up for it in how stiff the plate is and how much force it allows you to put down.

Very good spikes for my style of run.

I have several pairs of Puma shoes; a black suede sneaker, a synthetic driving shoe with a very thin sole, a great pair of black leather indoor soccer shoes, made in Japan, my most comfortable pair, and this running shoe with a synthetic upper and a rubber sole.

This has a well padded heel and is flexible in the forefoot. It is now my everyday shoe, handy in the rain. I looked at the leather models of this configuration, but chose the synthetic for its low cost.

Perfect for running. especially during cold weather. keeps feet warm and dry. Other running shoes are made with mesh material. So in cold weather they may get wet from dew on the ground. Which makes this particular sneaker perfect!.

A little thicker and more clunky then I expected. Looks more like a shoe for basketball than running, in my opinion. But the support is great, they are good for my feet which are a tad wide, and they have a good cushion to them which make them comfortable.

My only complaint would be the clunky/heavy feeling to them when I walk You can actually hear the clunk when I walk. But overall, for the price these are decent.

I’ve had these for about 4 months and waited to give a review until now. I’ve never owned a pair and I needed to see how they were after they were worn for a while. All the reviews I read seemed positive but were given right after purchase.

Since purchasing them I’ve had many compliments on the look and style. At the end of the day, these shoes are by far the best, most comfortable shoe I’ve ever worn. Super light, you barely know they are on your feet.

I wear them everyday and hate to take them off. I wear them for casual outings and as business casual. I’m on the website again about to order my second pair in a different color.

The Cloud X is a neat design from On that could be used for cross training and running. The design makes the shoe lighter than other models in similar categories, however; it should be noted these shoes will make some people’s ankles bleed as the ankle area has no padding and the stitching can rub against your skin.

It is worth trying these on in a store or wearing taller socks.

These are excellent for walking around town, up & down hills, several miles at a time–no problem. Solid, comfortable soles and roomy, breathable uppers, yet snug so they don’t give hot spots. Less useful on trails, because the aggressive tread tends to pick up half-inch pebbles (although they’re easy to remove).

For pavement pounding, these are great.

My first cross country season in 14 years and needed some spikes. Went with these and they were great. I did get sore ankles but I stupidly wore low ankle so is which exposes my heels. I’ll be wearing longer socks next time.

Might be better after a few races and they’ve worn in a little. Great shoe.

So far so good. One outing on the mud in my new adiZero XCS and they felt stable and light, a perfect combo. They look pretty good too. Coming with two options on spikes appreciated. Concur with my fellow reviewer Nigel aka go a half a size up from your usual for running in road shoes.

Didn’t get chance to try them out so took gamble at 1st XC of season. Paid off and felt speedy with studs. Looking forward to trying out with spikes. Would recommend using with cushioned socks otherwise spot on.

I bought these for my son, as I could not find any anywhere else. He has no complaints that I know of. Just a basic cleat that gets the job done. I really don’t have an opinion on them. I do not feel they are worth the price because they are so basic.

I have purchased over 10 of these particular Spikes for Athletes in my program since they first came out. These spikes have taken athletes to Districts, Regionals, State, and National Championships and never failed in performance for Athletes.

My son is an Adidas fan. He likes the look and he also likes the fit of the track shoe. He hopes to see more designs/ varieties of Adidas track shoes in Academy.

Not for me. Tried them in a few races and did not like them. Wish Saucony had a return policy when you are not happy with a shoe like many other brands have. Way overpriced to not offer something like that.

They look like they are a quality product, hsve yet to test them out on the track. So can’t really comment on the gripnor performance aspect at the moment

Ultra light spikes. Had them before and loved them. With growing feet, did not want to change the shoes, so bought the next size up of the same one. Love Saucony, and especially their track and field shoes.

I purchased this product right before a meet because I broke my other spikes. I am overall happy with the shoes. They have had some problems that I have had to deal with, but overall I liked them. They are solid shoes that can get the job done but they aren’t anything too crazy.

Some of the problems that I faced have to do with durability and too much flexibility. With track spikes I really don’t wear them that much, I only put them on before races and I only have about 10 races a year.

Within the first 4 races the insoles of the shoe started to fall apart and made running in them a little uncomfortable. The other problem that I have with them is how flexible the bottom of the shoe is.

With sprinting spikes you want a hard non flexible bottom and on the shoes they are really bendy and I feel like it takes time off my races. I do love how affordable the shoes are. For only paying $60 you are getting a good pair of spikes.

For what I needed they do just the job and are a lot cheaper then buying a nice pair for $150. They also hold the spikes in the bottom a lot better than most pairs of spikes I have had. I think if someone wants to get into track they are the spikes that you should get.

I overall am happy with the shoes that I bought and wore. They will get the job done and are easily accessible. They aren’t perfect shoes and do have some problems, but for $60 you really can’t ask for much more.

When I opened my order the shoes looked like they had been worn. The bottom of the shoes has scuff marks and worst of all there are seams that are falling apart on the inside. do not purchase these shoes from here, purchase them from somewhere else.

I would try running wear house or first to finish. Trust me, don’t spend your money on these spikes.

Bought these to replace old sprint spikes. They seem to run about a half size small and out of the 4-5 pairs I tried on, the width varied in each shoe pair. For women, the B width is common for narrower feet, but it seems like all thats in stock is D width (men’s width.

) I made the D width work, but mostly because I had to replace my old pair quickly. I used to be more satisfied with Nike spikes and these seem to miss the mark for me.

Really great track spikes. Definitely more comfortable than my last pair for longer distance running. Nice wide toe box as well.

Comfortable, I’m a 100m and 200m sprinter and have brought these for winter training so I’m using them for longer training such as 800m, these are wide and have good room so would recommend if you have wide feet.

Bought for my daughter for track. No rubbing or blisters from day one. I would suggest ordering extra spikes, as she lost 3 on the first day, but that’s an easy fix. I would recommend!

A lot of the reviews nailed it: lightweight, snug (order a size up), and dense outer. I like the shoe, but am a much bigger fan of the Nike Zoom Streak LT4 for the toe splay and spring to the outer. I will say – they seem to be more durable than the Streak LT series.

I’ve probably put ~100 miles on these and they’re holding up fine.

I’ve heard great things about the On brand for their comfort, so I bought these shoes. I’ve used them a handful of times in the gym and for walking. The heel lockdown is great and there’s lots of room in the toe box.

I’m not sure how these would perform for running, but I think they would be ok for short distance running in a pinch. The only complaint that I have is that the material around the ankle is somewhat rigid, so it is a little uncomfortable around the ankle if you tie them very tight.

However, I found that wearing socks that aren’t too short to solve the problem.

I bought this shoe seeking a hybrid for running and cross training. I wanted something that wouldn’t pound my knees during treadmill intervals, while also affording a stable platform for lifting, etc.

This shoe really delivers on both fronts. It’s surprisingly lightweight for the amount of cushion — generous absorption on the heel strike, without being a complete marshmallow. And the lugs on the bottom are wider (moreso than the other On Cloud models) which feels great when doing anything with lateral motion.

Material of the upper also appears to be rugged, so I’m hoping I’ll get a lot of miles on them without tearing. Toe box is wide too, which feels great. The only thing I don’t like about them is the harder plastic strips used in the upper’s mid foot.

They are tight around my arch and do not stretch much at all. After long sessions of running, I have to take them off for relief. Time will tell if this is an aspect that will “break in. ” I’ll still use the shoe as an all-day walker, but will probably limit runs in them to less than 2 hours.

I have been an On fan for nearly three years and into running for nearly four. I started with the most stable more expensive models and went with lighter and faster choices as my skill level improved.

Cloud X are my favorites for daily training and shorter, 1/2 marathon or less runs. The cloud flow is my current go-to shoe for longer runs. The waterproof Ons will certainly keep you safe and dry on wet days.

The choice should be easy On or nothing. They are the only runners you need and they are backed by fantastic On support.

Bought these spikes about 2 weeks ago, they are very comfortable,durable,lightweight, and affordable spikes. If your deciding between Nike and addidas go with Nike! They will change your life. And if your looking for anything else that is like these spikes you will be searching for the rest of your life.

I used these spikes for a few months they worked great. The day before the invitationals I raced a team with an old beat up thin track. In result the individual spikes on the shoe bent inwards and when I used them for invitationals the next day they stabbed into my feet as I raced.

These spikes aren’t durable.

Every track season for the past 4 years, my kids’ have continually worn the Nike Zoom Rival series spikes and have been happy with the comfort, fit, and durability of this track spike. The mesh material allows flexible and comfortable movement, without needing “to break them in”.

I am 67 years old, 78 kg weight, 1. 74 meters height. I run for pleasure about 20k a week, 1 long run and 2 short ones. Externally, the shoe is beautiful and attracts attention. This shoe is supposed to replace my Hoka Bondi 7 shoe.

The sole and the shoe are slightly narrower than the Hoka. Because the shoe is narrower, the laces need to be spaced more, so that the foot feels comfortable in them. The laces are rough and didn’t open during my first run.

The tongue is padded and comfortable, although too short for my taste. The first impression of the footwear, is the softness and the soft return when stepping. I felt a little unstable, due to the narrower shoe.

During the run itself, I had to get used to the slightly different running which is different from a shoe with a wide and flat sole like the Bondi. I don’t know if it’s the shoe, or because of the improved weather, which was today at 6 am, less hot and less humid, but I finished a 9.

4 km run, in a good result, that I haven’t achieved for a long time. And I have no problem attributing the improvement to the shoe. In conclusion, a shoe that was easy for me to get used to relatively quickly.

My confidence will surely increase in the next runs. One thing you should pay attention to, I think the shoe is less resistant to wet surfaces.

I wore these for a 12 mile run right out of the box after purchasing them. This review is only a reflection of that run. Immediately I could tell the comfort was not like other shoes, they feel incredible.

I actually said “woah!” out loud after running my first steps! I have tried many comfort shoes from nike over the years and these are by far the best, no question. Unfortunately, I cannot wear these anymore because the shoe is very narrow, particularly around the pinky toe area.

My pinky toe is pressed tight against the side of the shoe. Towards the end of my run it was in pain due to this that lasted for days. This only happened on my right foot, so I assume this is a me problem.

I am a big Nike shoe person and I have never experienced this issue with any nike shoes in my lifetime. I am very bummed because I was excited to use these as my long/recovery run shoe. I am not giving up on them yet, will try and see if I can widen them somehow because that’s how good they are.

I also want to point out that after my single run, the fabric on the outsides of the ankle support were getting frayed and coming apart on both shoes. This is unacceptable in my opinion, I wore these for two hours!.

I was very pleasantly surprised by this shoe after running a 1500m indoor race in them. Great lock down and comfort. In never knew I had spikes on during the race. Better than Dragonfly which you will know you have on if you are not a forefoot runner and I could feel the energy return from the stiff carbon plate.

Better than New Balance’s plated MD-X which runs very wide and has a terrible lacing system and lock down. Maybe the best spike I have ever worn for a 1500m. Victory was my preferred spike before carbon plated spikes came in.

After testing other super spikes I will stick with this shoe now for 800 & 1500m races. I am 70 years old, still racing fast and have worn a lot of spikes in my time.

I only got to train in the shoes one time before I injured my knee. No, the shoes had nothing to do with my injury. They fit great, they are super light, and I appreciated the extra padding. I am a long sprinter and I generally use a distance spike as my training and racing shoes.

I gave them 1 star because these shoes are a joke. The Toe Box is extremely narrow – the width of a narrow woman’s shoe – which makes it impossible for many males to wear. The fact that this shoe is “unisex” and don’t offer different widths is laughable.

I returned them fast not worth the price.

The spike is extremely good, but the durability is horrible I had them for only 2 weeks with minimal usage and the air pod broke.

These spikes fit all of my criteria. I’m a 400m starting to train up in distance for the 800m possibly, and not only do they look even better in person, but the fit is on point. They are bouncy and very comfortable, yet aggressive enough to run a 400-600 (PRed in these in both events).

I get so many compliments on these too. Definetly my favorite pair of spikes thus far. I’m normally a size 10 women’s and ordered a 8. 5 in these and they fit like a glove. BUY THESE!!.

When I bought this shoes, they did not tell me it is not available in the store. I thought I was just picking it up. I had to wait for about 10 days before I could go pick it up. By then, the track and field event that I wanted to was over.

It would be nice, if the store carried some of these products.

So excited to find these shoes for my 9yo and at such a great price but they arrived used. We expected new shoes not used. Bottom of shoes all scuffed up.

Bought these a month ago, they fit really well and are suprisingly comfortable for field spikes. You might want to purchase additional spikes prior to leaving the store, these fell out after the first race.

My daughter likes the color of the cleats. They aren’t as comfortable as her nike cleats from last year, but she still likes them. They are very lightweight.

I like the shoes, I brought my pair in store. If i could go back I wouldve brought it online due to the fact the store sell you shoes that are on display and so many ppl feet has been in them and even though they are in pristine condition you can still defintely tell its been worn when you pay close attention to the detail of the shoe.

Overall I am still satisfied with my purchase but I would advise the store to not sell display shoes when ppl are paying this much for quality. They shoes fir me well, I usally have problems with most designer shoes due to how narrow some are and I have wide feet.

These shoes out the box compensates for wide feet individuals and they are comfortable. I would say though bc of the design trying to clean these yourself can be a headache and I would advise taking them to a shoe cleaner shop.

They fit kind of small but not to the point where it is uncomfortable try on a size up before you make a decision.

I actually order a smaller size at first so I had to return it! I fell in love with the nude color! I also have one in white. when I saw the new colors I bought it right away since I new it will be sold out fast.

it looks good in everything. It’s an overprice sneakers but the quality is worth it. It is still just a fashion statement shoes. It’s super heavy so if you are not comfortable walking with extra 2lbs each you might not gonna be able to walk in longer period of time.

I am used to wearing chunky shoes but this is prolly the heaviest of all my chunkies but still I can get used to the weight of it. =).

Bought these as a present and had to go to store after ordering these to change them for a different pair as the pair I was sent did not seem fresh. I was told they are all made a different dye so no trainer is the exact same which is fair enough but something to watch out for.

Delivery was quick and I am happy with the pair I now have.
