20 Best Shoes For Piriformis Syndrome (2023 Updated)

My first pair of High-Top Sneaker Vans (black) and they are instantly my favorite. Very comfy. Nice fit. True to size. Durable. They come with waterproofing enabled on the pair but I also used DSW weather proofing spray (can) for extra protection.

Got these for about 50 bucks on clearance and with a coupon and so for they are great value. Super snug and comfy fit. Warm with solid traction. Haven’t gotten them yet but they seem like a great work casual shoe.

Will be wearing them often! Appears to be a great value.

Highly recommend these kicks. They feel great and look great. Extra bonus you can rock them with khakis to dress them up or jeans for a more casual look. I probably wouldn’t play ball in them, but I love them.

I have high arches and because of this I have ALWAYS had to wear sneakers if I did not want to be in pain after a short time. I found these sandals and thought they were a bit pricey, but if they worked I was all for it! Well I got them, and I immediately felt the arch support and how the heel is cushioned in that little ‘cup’ area.

They feel great! I live in Florida so not being able to wear sandals ever and always wearing sneakers is unacceptable! I will definitely buy more shoes from this company again!P. S. I did get a ‘new shoe’ blister in the top of my feet when I first began to wear them, so I guess width runs a little on the small side.

This was NOT enough for me to send them back or stop wearing them!.

Looked at Soles, Olukai, and Chaco flip flops and read many reviews before buying. Was actually set on Olukai Ohana’s by review but the Soles were by far more comfortable. Love the arch support, and metatarsal pad.

Have had zero break-in time. Fit like a dream from the minute I first put them on. Hoping the foam lasts as it is soft to conform to your foot. Only weird thing about them is the foam makes the soles of my feet hot.

Can live with that though as they are sooooo comfortable!.

I’ve been looking for minimalist shoes I can use on the tennis court for some time, but I never saw anything that looked as if it would hold up (I wear out the sides and tops of my shoes — I drag the top of my left foot when I hit my backhand, for instance, and the right foot while serving).

I saw that others had tried this model from Xero for tennis, and I decided to give it a shot. So far, so good. I first went two or three times on my own to just practice serving and moving about the court before playing matches.

All went well, so then I met up with my regular set of friends and I’ve put maybe 6 or 7 total sets of doubles, and one friendly set of singles over three separate outings to the courts. For what it’s worth, the computer says I’m a 4.

0 player, though I haven’t played an official USTA match in over 5 years, and I’m not sure I’m really that good anymore. Who knows. My buddies are 4. 0 and still play league matches. Due to time constraints, I also only get to play once a week, so that’s also probably helped in getting my feet acclimated.

Anyway, when using these shoes, I adjusted quickly and soon forgot I wasn’t wearing typical clunky tennis shoes. I was worried about turning over my ankle, so I laced them tight and all has been OK (knock on wood).

I have noticed that my calves are sore, as well as the soles of my feet — neither of which normally happens. I also have to say that I’ve been exclusively wearing zero-rise, wide toe-box shoes for a little over a year now — so I suppose I’ve gradually accustomed my feet into using these types of shoes before using them for tennis.

I have noticed another thing — I’m not sure why, but it feels like when I play with these shoes, I tend to move on the balls of my feet more, and rest less on my heels. I’m not sure if this is because I’m still adjusting, or if this a normal adaptation as I move more naturally on the court.

The shoes are built up on the sides and on the top — maybe not as much as a regular tennis shoe, but enough that at this point, I believe that I’ll get enough mileage out of them to make it a worthwhile purchase.

These shoes are pitched as workout shoes, which is ultimately what I bought them for, but I personally hate single purpose shoes, so I’ve done some traveling in them as well. First off, if you’re used to traditional tennis shoes, these are going to take some getting used to.

I evidently land hard on my heels, and when hiking or walking through an airport, the lack of cushioning really became noticable. Wearing the shoes is essentially teaching me to walk different, which is great, but my feet felt more tired than usual *at first*.

On the trail I love these. The rubber on the bottom is nice and sticky, which is confidence inspiring, and it’s thick enough to provide protection from rocks and other things. There were a couple rocks that I stepped on (hiking in Arizona, so think lots of jagged sharp rocks) that made me wince a bit, but I didn’t get stone bruises or anything like that.

One of the hikes I did was extremely steep (1100ft in a mile) and the shoes performed great. What’s not quite apparent from the product pictures is the shoes are made of mesh. So in colder climates, you’ll want thick socks.

Or different shoes if it’s windy / wet. Your feet will get wet. In hot climates though, they were great because of all that breathability. Again, these shoes aren’t billed as hiking shoes necessarily, but they worked for that just fine, and I’m positive they will be great in the gym.

road runs may take some more getting used to though. I do wish they came in some different colors (not solids) / styles. They’re sort of funky looking (my wife calls them my “water shoes” – ) but definitely comfortable.

I want to start by saying I love these shoes. So comfortable and I feel actually secure in them when playing hard paced sports like tennis and basketball unlike other barefoot shoes which literally fold under the pressure of quick lateral movements.

Which is exactly why I bought this shoe and I am very happy. Up until I bought these I always wore sports specific shoes for sports like that. For those wondering, you will not have the traditional “feel” of barefoot shoes where you can feel every crack in the ground with these.

It is a much harder and more solid rubber, however that is to be expected in a shoe like this and to me that is a good thing. I am happy to trade ground feel for protection of my feet while playing sports.

So good job there too. And now after saying how much I love these shoes. I have to say they are one of the most hideous looking shoes I have ever seen in my life. I get it, that’s personal preference but PLEASE Xero shoes, hire a better designer for the LOOK of some of your shoes! Your functionality is incredible, if only your style was a small percent of that these would be the perfect shoe.

My wife doesn’t even want to try hers on they look so bad, and if I wasn’t a function over form type of guy I would feel the same. Overall outstanding shoe! But please make them at least a little bit easier on the eyes.

I’ve been buying these sandals for my kids, boy and girls, for almost a decade. We’ve tried some others, but these really are the best. Super durable, washable, comfortable, and adjustable (front and back).

My kids have never had any trouble putting them on themselves, and the Velcro holds up. I always look for a toe that curls up, so my kids don’t trip on the front edge of their shoes. They also break in very well.

And it’s reasonably priced—cheap, even! There really isn’t any reason to buy any other kind of shoe. There used to be more color selections, but I’ll take whatever they have (but please bring back the purple and navy/pink!).

At times, these shoes have been difficult to find, so I’m ecstatic that Target is carrying them. In fact, I had a pair of these in my Timberland cart a few days ago, but didn’t finalize the order. When I opened the page the next day, the product page was gone! Luckily, they were now available here, at my favorite store.

My sons feet kept coming out of other sandals and these fit perfect! They were adjustable to his fat feet (honestly – that’s why we have problems with sneakers). I bought them in blue and black and he wore them the whole summer.

They are still in great shape after a whole summer on a 3 year old foot.

I have a medium, almost narrow foot and I found these shoes to be quite narrow. My foot fits into them, but anyone with a somewhat wider foot or full medium would probably need to size up at least a half size.

Because the length is good and I can get my foot in (though not as comfortably with a small sock) I am keeping them. I agree that part of the issue is probably the amount of padding in the insole. I don’t plan to wear them much for a while as they were purchased more as a “back-up” shoe not to be a current one.

As I’ve seen the quality of various shoe brands fall over the years I figured I’d best buy a few from the brands I like while I can still find adequate quality (for example the Clarks brand has lost a great deal of quality over the years.

to the point that I can no longer feel confident buying them). I also picked this shoe because I hate shoes that have to be tied and this slip on fit the bill. For some odd reason shoe companies tend to stop making styles that are popular and put out something newer.

And not often better. Would that I had realized that over a decade ago and I would have bought more multiples of my favorite Clarks suede winter boot. I’ve ordered others similar from Clarks but have had to return as the quality of the suede has become very inferior and stiff.

So basically the key here is that this shoe does run a bit narrow and sizing up at least a half size would probably be a good idea. Good luck. I’m planning to stop ordering much from QVC in future as the problems with lower quality have become widespread and of course the cost of return shipping is high.

OK, so I thought I finally found the sneaker I have been searching for, after returning 4 pairs of Skechers. This taupe sneaker was a great light color, had a bit of a pretty shimmer to it, fit my size 8 feet perfectly, and I finally found an upper that didn’t hurt the tops of my feet from the tongue of the sneaker like other Skechers had.

Unfortunately, the bottoms have very little traction on my tile floors and that is where I walk, (as opposed to outdoors) as I am sick and don’t know exactly what time of day I will have the energy to walk.

So I would have had to return them anyway, BUT I could not believe, yet again, that this is the 4th time in the past year I was shipped someone else’s return. They should have been marked “as is” and I would not have purchased them.

How do I know it was someone else’s return? The packing inside of each sneaker was compromised, the left sneaker had 2 stains on it, and both sneakers had dirt or food or something in them, and also a bug came out of one of them! Really? This could be someone else’s 5 star sneaker but the 3 star review is mostly QVC’s fault.

QVC, please stop sending out returns as new merchandise; you are ruining your own reputation.

My current trainers are Sketchers and were comfortable from the first time of wearing. When these arrived first thing I noticed they were very light which is great but the soles were a hard plastic material not rubber.

I do an hour brisk walk most mornings so I put on my new trainers and off I went. They seemed okay to start with although not that comfortable. After about 20 minutes the left shoe started making a cracking noise from the sole, very strange and bizarre.

After 30 mins or so I realised that there was no flexibility in the soles making walking uncomfortable. I carried on and did my hour walk, the left shoe still making the odd noise and still not a bouncy walk you expect from Sketchers memory sole.

When I got home and took them off it seemed that every piece of grit and stone had stuck themselves to the sole. I was disappointed with them and I have now returned them. Also be aware if you order the navy & pink do not wear light socks because when I took them off the pink had come off on my white socks, it was not raining so they were not wet.

All in all a bad buy and gave the 2 stars for QVC try before you buy policy.

I have been wearing these for about a year on hiking trails on BC’s west coast and they are tough, solid boots. A total pleasure to hike in. Lots of foot support, as waterproof as any boots can get, with their tongue being actually part of the upper —no seams to leak into—.

They are not too heavy, they fit like a glove, and these boots would be the best all-round hiking boot I have worn. They thrive in serious scree and rugged steep alpine and glacial river boulders. And they also are good on easier recreational trails.

I also have a pair of Scarpa Kailash trek boots which are very similar to the Zamberlans in weight, but, the Zamberlans will in the long term take more punishment than the Scarpas, I feel. being solid leather, where the Scarpas are leather and fabric.

The Scarpas have somewhat better sole-design than the Zamberlans, but, the Scarpas cost more. Wearing the Scarpas feels wonderfully springy, like you are about to take off. I use my Scarpas for the easier stuff and the Zamberlans for the more-rugged terrain.

It’s hard to say which boot is the better, but, I say the Zamberlans sneak into first place by a nose. They are indeed a work of art in hiking boot design and manufacture. For the price, you will not find a better hiking boot, and for the design and performance the same can be said if you are like me and like a boot that’s not too heavy, looks good, and performs safely and reliably in all terrain.

I have always used trail running shoes for hiking and was curious to try more traditional boots so grabbed the Zamberlan 309 on sale. It’s a different experience wearing these – they definitely are sturdier and more supportive that what I am used to.

So far they are comfortable enough but a bit warmer than I thought so I’ll use these in cooler weather. They look to be a lot more durable compared to my usual hiking shoes which typically have textile panel that tend to rip after some hard use, so hopefully the Zamberlans hold out much longer.

I also like the look – the leather is definitely high quality, the style is smart and the sole is very grippy. The fit feels a little tight for me, I am glad that I half a size bigger. The weight is not too bad, after some time I stop feeling it.

I wish Altitude-Sports carried the Zamberlan waterproofing cream, I would have picked it up with the boots.

I’ve been wearing these boots for almost 2 years now almost everyday as a tree climbing boot and hiking in them on the weekends. They are extremely solid and I have been very confident in them. They were very easy to break in, very waterproof pretty stable.

The only problems I’ve had with the boot are the quick lace eyelets. They tend to bend and I had one break off on me the other day. They seem to be a very thin metal. The other problem I had was the sole starting to delaminate from the leather but I wouldn’t expect anything more unless the sole was stitched and frankly I’m surprised they’ve lasted this long.

Overall I’m impressed but would like to see a better quick lace system on them.

I absolutely love this shoe. I have never owned a pair of “Jordans”, but I wanted to treat myself. At first glance of the One Take II, I knew this shoe was made for me! I’ll be honest, I had no idea who Russell Westbrook was, and it was truly the way the random colors and designs all came together.

I ordered the shoe and showed them to my sister, who also suddenly needed these. She was able to order them in Big Kids sizes after I graciously bought her a gift card as a late birthday present. She loves her new shoes as well.

I get lots of attention when I wear them and appreciate that they are extremely comfortable also.

I wanted white leather Onitsuko Tiger White Leather Mexico 66s. Everywhere was sold out. I found them at St. Bernard and they are perfect. I wear a 6-1/2 and these were true to size, the leather high quality.

I wear Onitsuko Tiger sneakers exclusively and these exceeded my expectations.

The Onitsuka white sneakers with blue stripe is an iconic sneaker that belongs in every man’s closet. The quality is excellent. It looks great with light wash or dark wash jeans. Recommend to size up

You cannot be Bruce Lee, but you can wear the shoe that he wore while training. Aside from that, these are comfortable shoes, light weight and durable. I own(ed) a few pairs and love each pair. While the “shoe is not intended for high performance athletics” (as stated in the booklet), I have worn Mexico 66’s on long walks in the city and daily wear.

You could totally use these to train like Bruce. Walk on!.

First of all, this shoe is made of the cheapest possible quality. Just in simple mail transit these boots arrived torn up, scraped, scratched, and creased. They’re not “styled” to be a distressed leather but BOTH times I have had to reorder, they were torn up.

Even trying them on feels like they will break, dent, and tear within a couple days wearing them. The leather is soft, which is nice but in a cheap way. not in a supple expensive leather way. Had to order twice and now I’m getting a refund.

I have never had Timbs be so low quality.

I ordered them online Thursday night and they were delivered on Saturday morning. I wore them on a date with some jeans and a sweater. They looked good and are extremely comfortable. I put a lot of rain and stain spray on them.

I only wish the sole of the shoe was darker. I have to mention I am a female that unfortunately wears a size 11. I ordered these in a 9. 5 just to be sure and they fit perfectly. Can’t wait to show them off to my uncles! Hopefully they hold up well.

Purchase these on the website because the store closest to me did not have them. Received them and it looks like someone wore them for a few days and returned them. There are noticeable scuffs all over them.

After looking at reviews apparently this is a common trend. The boots are nice but hopefully you are one of the lucky ones who gets a new pair….

I am a Melissa fan, but haven’t purchased a pair in some time. I saw these in green and fell in love! I ordered immediately but my size was sold out, I ordered one size smaller and adjusted the straps and they fit flawlessly! They look gorgeous and have a complimentary shape to them, they do for your feet as heels do for your legs – they really look lovely on and they feel just as wonderful! Soft, deliciously scented, and safe – I would feel comfortable hiking in them or going on a summer date with them! I can’t say enough – just ordered a second pair in the same size in case they are discontinued!.

I love these. They are so much more comfy than my jellies from 1992. I wasn’t sure about the platforms since I am already 6’ tall, but they are just too cute to pass up. I had to buy my daughters the matching Mini Melissa jellies as well.

We will be wearing these all summer. They will be perfect for Vegas too! Ps. Melissa and mini Melissas are pleasantly scented, so they don’t off gas or have a chemical smell. Win win. Size down. I normally wear a 9.

5-10 and the 9s fit perfect.

The shoes made my two year old, who is almost three LIGHT UP! She absolutely loves them. We purchased a different shoe online and it was too small. ( Definitely size up). She is just getting into an 8 and the 9 fit better.

After her shoe didn’t fit, she was so upset because she didn’t want to take them off… so off to the store for a quick exchange we went. Get the shoe!.

I think these shoes look sick af, and love the aesthetic, but I did run into some problems wearing them. The good of wearing these is that the platform is easy to walk in because they they’re nearly flatform and also pretty lightweight (the chain is plastic, which is good in my opinion because heavy sandals suck); contrarily, I also had trouble with the width of this shoe.

I have been regrettably cursed with very long, thin feet. I ordered the smallest size that I could when I ordered this shoe-anything smaller than a nine will just straight up not fit my feet- and they just barely fit in terms of length, the problem comes in when we talk about the width.

Plainly, the straps are too large to really secure these to my feet. I have to deal with a lot of Velcro-overhang to get them tight enough and even then, wearing these without socks on ONE very stupid five mile midnight jaunt led to my feet being torn up- and I mean that literally; I have scars from it in the shape of the cross-strap.

This is solved pretty handily by wearing socks with these and buckling them tight (yes I still wear them). I’m giving these a mostly positive review because (as aforementioned) this was only a problem for ME and my mutant feet, my sister wore these and declared them the most comfortable sandals she has ever worn after tramping through the city for eight miles.

These shoes are absolutely stunning! I was a bit on the fence when they first arrived because I thought only the pink part was going to be glittery from the pictures, but the glittery yellow grew on me.

I wore these to the mall and got TONS of compliments! Someone even shouted at me from across the parking lot that they love my neon shoes and another shouted at me from inside a store that I happened to pass, so even from yards away, they get noticed! That said, this is my third pair of Demonias and second pair of Dynamites and I have to say that while the Dynamite-03s are roomy and comfortable enough to wear all day, even while working, I did not have the same experience with the 02s.

They fit more like an 8. 5 than a 9 and the straps that go across the top of my foot are tight and dig into my skin. I wore them for about 3. 5 hours, most of that time spent on my feet, and I couldn’t wait to get home and take them off.

My feet were killing me! I will continue to wear them in the future because I love the way they look, but I’ll stick to shorter outings where I’m not going to be walking or standing as much.

I’ve had these shoes for a couple weeks now and have worn them several times, these shoes are comfortable to wear for long periods of time, however the first time I wore them, my skin did get a bit chafed from the metal bits on the strap.

Not sure if my skin is just sensitive or what, but it hasn’t happened since then, only the first time. Also, I wish the strap had an actual buckle that I could undo to put them on, since it is a little bit harder having to pull them on without a buckle.

Lastly, the sole does seem sturdy except for the very top half an inch, which I assume was made of a softer foam material as to be more comfortable on our feet. However, I found a tiny chunk of foam missing off the top after only wearing them once, and I’m not sure how that happened considering I wasn’t doing anything physically strenuous.

However, these shoes are still cute and I get a lot of compliments on them. I just hope they hold up in the long run.
