20 Best Shoes For Hip Hop (2023 Updated)

I have been wearing these shoes for Zumba classes for over 5 years. They are a half size bigger than your normal shoe size. I have a narrow foot and heel. I find them very accommodating. They can be inconsistent in quality, some lasted longer than others.

I am satisfied with this shoe and reorder it. I always have a back up new box to replace the shoes when necessary.

I have been dancing for 10 years and have tried every dance shoe. I used to like Blocks but these are so much more comforable.

I purchased these years ago. They arrived as I was getting ready to go to dance class; I put them on; I danced for an hour and a half and they were immediately comfortable, supportive and provided no problems from then on! What a great experience; a great shoe.

Years later, they are still very functional, but, needing some fresh support, I ordered a new pair—the exact same shoe, size – everything the same. Unfortunately, one shoe is slightly short in the toe box, resulting in foot cramping.

Of course, thinking they needed to be ‘broken in,’ it became too late to exchange them. I’ve continued using the original pair, which I still love, but there’s now a greater need for support. However, now I am unsure whether to purchase a half size larger or return to what I originally ordered, which was one size larger than street, on the chance that that 2nd pair was uniquely, poorly constructed.

So if, when you put them on your feet, they are not right–immediately–return them for a larger size. Like the old saying: when they were good, they were very very good and when they were bad, they were horrid.

I love these shoes. They’re amazing. I had ones before and they were amazing too. I wear them for teaching and for my work in the studio. They are very comfortable and look very well.

I have worn Capezio dance shoes for years and previously a half size up always fit perfectly. I ordered a half size larger in this shoe but it was too tight. I think a full size up may have fit. The shoes were much more bulky than my previous Dansneakers and I could tell would irritate my instep being so high on it.

I do wish they still made the comfortable web dansneaker! Returned and ordered Bloch.

I typically wear a size 7 in a street shoe and ordered an 8. 5 based on the recommended 1-1. 5 sizes bigger than one’s street shoe size and reviews that this shoe runs small. I found that it was much too big.

It was at least half a size if not a full size too large. I would have exchanged it for a smaller shoe, but I was underwhelmed by the look and feel of this dance sneaker. I would describe the color as a light bubble gum pink.

(On my monitor, it looks more muted. ) I also found the shoes to be rather stiff and bulky while not offering much support for my high arches. (Perhaps this is due to the size issue. ) For reference, I am used to wearing the Sansha Hi-Step, which I find more supportive yet also more flexible.

This is my second time ordering these shoes. I wear a size 7 street shoe and a couple years ago ordered an 8 in these shoes. I was happy with the size 8 fit until I ended up with an ingrown toenail from my toe rubbing against the front end.

This time, I ordered an 8. 5 and they feel a bit big but there is no rubbing. I have to wear a thick sock to keep them from slipping off my feet and the am not sure how I feel about the arch support as it hits my arch in a different place than the size 8 did.

I would definitely follow the sizing guidelines. As for ordering 1 or 1. 5 size up, it really depends on your preference of how you like to wear your dance shoes. If you like them tight I would go with 1 size up, if you like them a bit roomier than I would go with 1.

I bought these to replace my old pair which I’ve had for years and love. They look almost the same but unfortunately the sole is made of a harder rubber and to my surprise isn’t so slippy for turning/spinning.

I might need to buy the stick on pads. Shame they changed them. They are still very comfortable though.

I ordered these shoes for my college dance team performances as we have to wear black sneakers. I typically wear a 9 or a 9. 5 street shoe, and most reviews said to order up so I ordered a 10. 5. They were huge! I returned them and ordered a 9.

5. Still big and not much difference from the 10. 5! I wore them once t practice and landed funny on my foot, because of the very tall heel, my ankle rolled and I tore a ligament! So not only can I not return the as I wore them to practice, but I have a hurt ankle.

Ordered some new shoes for the rest of the season. Hope they will work out better than these!.

I have purchased these shoes 2 years in a row because I enjoyed the fit, comfort, and low profile (I’ve rolled my ankle a few times in higher sneakers. ) But they only last me through a year of teaching.

I teach 3 ballet classes in a row on M,W,F and use them sometimes for other classes. Each year, the canvas in the demi-pointe begins to rip away from the plastic ball of the foot leaving the side of metatarsals bare.

With the shoe coming open at the seams, the ball of my foot slightly rests on the plastic part and it becomes quite uncomfortable to wear. I’m surprised they only last me a year. Perhaps I need a wider size, but I’m disappointed that the shoes have come apart in the exact same place and way for two years in a row.

I bought this and oh my god. The quality is amazing! I cant believe it 10/10. No way am i ever buying a different shoe.

Former dancer here! I used to dance jazz in lace up split sole shoes and did a bunch of musicals in my hometown, so I kind of danced a little bit of everything in every kind of dance shoes in the past.

Haven’t dance in awhile and I bought these shoes for Zumba, since regular athletic shoes doesn’t slide for turns on hardwood floors and I didn’t want to hurt my ankles. They look very nice, they seem well made and durable but they are a little to hard on my pinky toes.

The arch support is good enough for me (high arches) but I don’t recommend these shoes for somebody with low arches or flat feet. I wanted to try something different than Capezio and Bloch (which I wore in the past), but I think I’ll get back to the well known brands.

I was looking to replace a pair of Leos dance sneakers and purchased these. I went up two sizes as suggested and had to return because they were too big. They crinkle up in the toe which I find unappealing.

The left one also doesnt hit the right place in my foot and feels uncomfortable. It feels like its going to fall off, the right one fits find. I also find the sole too tall and not what I was looking for.

I likely keep using them until I can find a better replacement for my Leos.

I have purchased these shoes for my grandson for the last 3 years. They fit well and hold up to a year’s worth of dance lessons. However, the sizing is next to impossible. I have had to send back shoes every year (this year, twice) because they don’t fit.

You really should include a foot chart that could be downloaded so that purchasers can see what sizes the shoes really are. Or give the lengths in inches.

Very happy I ordered! The pink ones are soooooooo pretty and bright! Was surprised at the top notch level of comfort. Of course, after walking around in them all day or after hip hop class, my review MIGHT change.

These dance shoes/sneakers fit very well (true to size – she wears a 2. 5 to 3 and we ordered a 3 with enough extra room for some growth but not much) and look great. They are perfect for my 8yo daughter’s hip hop dance recital coming up in a few weeks.

They arrived wrapped up in a soft cloth and then in a plastic bag. Not a scratch or dent. The patent leather look is very chic and adds just enough “sparkle” for my little girl to stand out. She has already worn them for a practice and reports the fit and feel is perfect! Her eyes lit up when I showed them to her :).

These sneakers are very cute but they run pretty small and seem to dig in my daughters heels when trying them on. I would recommend going up a size on this shoe. Disappointing that my daughter won’t really be wearing them even though they don’t fit.

I can’t return them because I don’t have original packaging any longer.

This is my second pair, from the day you put them on they are very comfortable and need to break in time. They are durable, my first pair which are 3 years old have only gotten better with time. I do find they run on the small side.

My normal shoot size in 8. 5 – 9 and I have to order a 10 for these shoes. I will be ordering more for sure.

For fitness, I dance in different styles. I used ballet shoes for a while then added Sansha jazz shoes (Moderno) for other types of dancing. Still I felt I needed more foot support, plus I like the look of sneakers.

These were a good choice compared to other sites but Sansha sizing can be tricky for me. I have a wide size 8 foot. If shoes don’t come in wide, I go up to 8. 5. My Modernos are size 9M and just fit.

could’ve used a 9. 5 but alas, no half sizes. So when I ordered these sneakers I knew to follow the sizing recommendations and ordered the size 10 which fit perfectly. I’ve never had split sole sneakers and can say I love them.

They bend easily but provide enough support to be comfortable during turns and jumps and kicks. My feet really like them. Got them in black and laces of course can be adjusted. Plenty of foot room for my wide feet.

I’ve been wearing a cross-training shoe for Zumba and Cardio Dance. I could not get the spin and slide I wanted and my knees were beginning to ache. Since there were very few options for men, I asked a professional dancer and family friend.

She suggested the Blitz-3. I ordered my size according to the recommendation for my dress shoe size. The fit is perfect! My movements are now much easier. The sole absorbs shock well and my knees love it! It did take some time to adjust to the split sole.

I had these shoes in Black and wanted a more seasonal lighter color. Shoe is true to size, the color is great and this is probably the most comfortable shoe I enjoy wearing. They are versatile and great for wearing with any outfit, be a dressed up or down.

Had to return it. Definitly 1/2 size up for me. Im usualy a 9.5 in Nike and New balance with great fit. Those 9.5 are way too tight for me. Shoes are perhaps excellent quality.

used to be an excellent shoe, feels cheaply made now. suede was ok. i wear an 11 in EVERYTHING, these felt small. go up half size. made in vietnam, returned.

Love these black sequined 3/4 sneakers. The flecks of silver sequins look like diamonds. Can hardly wait to dance in them. They seem to run a little bit small but are ok on my feet. Dancing in them will tell! Will use them to clog on floors where they don’t allow taps.

Cute sparkly shoe- hoping the sequins stay on until March when daughter will perform in them. Ordered a 1/2 size bigger than normal and fit great.

This shoes are incredible! I play a bunch of street ball in East Grand Rapids in my Over 60’s Senior Citizens 4×4 league in the heart of East Grand Rapids, and these shoes helped me and the boys claim the coveted second runner up prize.

I have the black on black, and I receive so many compliments strolling through town with my trophies that I’m worried someone may steal them. So yes! I will buy again fo shizzle, in case my original pair are stolen off my feet!.

Every year I make sure I grab a pair of high top over mid top Force’s. Because they sweeter to me. Everybody love the throwback style of them. Plus great ankle support. Delivery within 7 day’s. I was pleased with the packaging and delivery from Finish Line.

I bought these for my son and he loves them! These are not his first pair air force ones but they’re definitely his favorite! I like that they are durable and he says they’re comfortable. They look nice with any of his outfits! They only issue was adjusting the shoe laces when we first got them.

First pair of Shaqnosis shoes. They feel sturdy and durable, but super comfortable out of the box. I wear a size 12 and they fit true to size. I also have flatter feet, and the arch is supportive but not out of control or bothersome.

The materials feel plush, especially the thick cuts of grey suede that make up the swirl. The overal colorway is fun with the marbled effect, the grey, and the hit of kind of lilac purple on the heel.

And the general shape on foot has absolute 90’s vibes! Love them!.

Well, I never received my pair that I ordered. Some mishap in delivery. Not sure what happened and my size was already out of stock so a re-order was out of the question. However, Reebok was willing and did refund me, but from photos online and videos on YouTube the sneaker looks nice.

It’s a standout silhouette and I hope Reebok releases more the the Shaqnosis in different colorways even premium materials.

I was late to the party to seeing that they dropped this colorway/theme. Being a fan of Hot Ones I thought the artwork on the shoe and the colored ribs were sick. The shoe looks even better in person with the different material contrasts.

As far as fit goes they are extremely comfortable materials on the interior. I dont wear them enough to break them in quickly so they are still quite stiff walking around. but based on the material, I imagine when I break them in they will feel like walking on clouds.

Comfort was rated for how I have them now, not what I expect them to be.

I brought these tennie shoes, for my Grandson last month for school. He love his tennis shoes. Every pair of his tennis shoes comes for kids locker store.

These look great. I was a bit afraid of the high platform, but it isn’t as high as it looks, the foot somehow sits lower in the trainer and as a result, these feel very comfortable and don’t make me into a complete giant (I am 180cm tall).

I would say they fit true to size, if possible, you could go 0. 5 size bigger for a wider fit. But if not available, your regular size should be fine. Recommended. Got them for the sales price so it was one of the best bargains I’ve had recently.

I’ve wanted to purchase this product since about a year ago, but they did not have my size. Luckily out of the blue, I’ve checked again 2 weeks ago and saw my size in stock! I currently own 2 pairs, pink and this silver color.

I wish the company can come up with a few more colour choices (baby blue). They are comfy and make you look taller.

Not exactly my style but, after reading the reviews, I thought I should try them. They are indeed soooo comfy!!! Got half a size bigger for comfort. So cute in silver leather! Its amazing how it feels like I walk on some sort if pillows.

Only down side – the sole is quite slippery on wet surfaces, so be careful. Can’t recommend these enough for the comfort to say the least. LOVE!.

This is my first time purchasing shoes online correctly. I was concerned because my feet are considered wide and the only width listed is medium. They fit my feet wonderfully and even though there is no “support” for the arch, my arch is still supported, there just isn’t a hard sole there.

I positively love them and I may never return to purchasing regular shoes. My order came in within a week of purchase. One small issue was I never received an email telling me my order shipped out. Other than that, very happy with my purchase.

It’s a comfortable dance shoe. I ordered too large after reading the reviews, I would have only needed to go up a half size, not a whole size. The new soles are a little slippery on my wooden floor, but as I am using them and scuffing the bottoms up a bit, they are getting better.

I do like them and glad I purchased them for my dance/exercises routine.

This shoe use to be very good years back. Could have been worn for hours. Not sure where they are making their product. but it’s not the same. Sizing: This can go either way, pending on what you place on your feet.

Tights, Socks (thin or thick) or bare feet. I’m a 6. 5M and had to go down to a 6M. My first order got sent back. Shoe was very stretched out on sides. Ordered street size again, still to big if I don’t wear athletic socks.

Not Good Arch Support: As we age, we need more arch and foot support. Stress fractures, ligament damage, and hammer head toes, back, knee and neck issues are all a product of our body placement and what we wear on our feet.

If you dance or teach for long hours I would go with another shoe that has arch support, cushion and stability. This is NOT a running, walking or Zumba shoe. It’s great for price and short time being in this shoe.

Teaching dance, Hip-Hop class or a baby/kids class. “Cheers”.

I just love these so much! They’re off white, so super unique and stylish. Dresses up whatever you’re wearing but are SO comfortable, considering how tall they are. Comfy to drive in, walk for ages in and have washed perfect after they got a bit muddy! Favourite trainers out of about 40 pairs of white trainers.

These are great. I bought them because having this lift in the heel helps to alleviate my existing foot problem. They’re comfortable! The silver color is crisp and the shoes match virtually everything.

I just purchased the black paisley hightops for my boyfriends birthday and he wears them everyday to the gym. He has a flat foot and needs all the ankle support he can get as a body builder, so these babies were the perfect addition to his pulled up “vans” ankle socks! lol I must admit though, the man definitely pulls the look off so dont be surprised if you start seeing a trend-setting of body builders with their hightop vans and pulled up matching socks at your local gyms! 🙂 FYI: keep in mind that his foot is very narrow and flat so his ext room may have been bc of how narrow his feet are and the only option was the WideD.
