20 Best Shoes For Going Out (2023 Updated)

These shoes are so pretty! I recently saw them at a Steve Madden store and just had to have them. At the store, only one pair was available that customers had already tried on and some of the rhinestones were either coming off or out of place.

These shoes should not be worn for rough play but rather for special occasions because the rhinestones so seem to come off easily. I decided to place my order online, so glad I did because the shoes I received were intact.

They shipped within hours of placing my order and I received them within several days. Anyhow, although they are meant to be cute and stylish, the black ones also give off this sophisticated appearance! To me, black is an elegant color so I chose the black ones that can easily be dressed up or down depending on the occasion.

They do run small so I would suggest going up half a size. Even then, they feel snug, however, I opted to only go up half a size because going up a full size made them look oversized. They weren’t necessarily oversized on me, but one size to the next does make a big difference, especially the back part of the sole, it looked big on me so I only went up half a size.

I am normally a 7 I describe my foot as being wide, the 7 1/2 feels a bit snug on my feet. If you can bear the “snugness” I would recommend them. They are beautiful shoes. Anytime I wear them I get compliments.

I love Steve Madden shoes. I ordered two pairs of the cliffhanger sneakers before, and they are super cute, just not ideal for daily and regular use. Not for me anyways. There’s a bit of a slant with the wedge style, so not good for working out or other regular use.

I had been seeing great reviews on these, and saw Steve Madden advertising that they are they’re best selling and favorite shoes, but was hesitant to get them based on my experience with the other style sneakers that I bought.

Fast forward to present, and I’m looking to expand my sneaker collection since I mostly buy all different types of flats, and am also needing some new sneakers to work out in. After reading reviews, I decided to take the chance and give these a try.

I bought them online in both the black and the white style. I just got them today, and when I opened the packages, I was in love immediately! These shoes are so much prettier in person than they even look online, as is the same with pretty much all of Steve Madden shoes.

Obviously this is always great. But what I’m here to tell you about is how freaking comfortable they are! I know there are plenty of reviews that claim that these are so uncomfortable, but that just isn’t true in my case.

For comparison, I’m 36 years old, 225lbs, 5’5, and a mother of 3 with a full time job. I quit wearing high heels years ago, and traded them in for flats. I love my loafers. I also have great style, and still love to be flashy, even while being corporate.

When I put these babies on, it felt like an extension of myself! They wrapped themselves around me, in a natural way, and just felt like butter on my feet. I even had my son try them on just so he could feel the comfortable bliss that I felt.

Depending on the shoe brand, I can wear a size between 6. 5-7. 5, with 7. 5 feeling like my most “true” size. With Steve Madden shoes, I always go for size 8, and they always fit perfectly. So, based on my physical dimensions and build, going up half a size in this brand is the way to go, with all of their shoes.

Bottom line, I love these, and they are now my favorite shoes. I’ve already ordered two more pairs, the Disco (grey) and the Burgundy. I’ll be getting the Rose Gold, the Olive green, and the Blush ones next.

These are definitely the type of shoes that you’d want to collect in every color. They can be worn with skinny, flare, or any other style of Jean, with leggings, shorts, dresses or skirts. Gotta collect them all! Ya know?.

The shoe itself is beautiful. I love the colors and details, especially the rhinestones (I got the rainbow pair). They’re so pretty!! Like if a shoe was a unicorn lol. I couldn’t give 5 stars simply because Steve Madden’s sizing is so inconsistent! Sometimes I can wear a 7.

5 in their shoes, but other times I need a 9 (when, in every other brand I am a true sz. 8, medium width). That is the case with these sneakers which run a whole size too small. I thought (from reading other reviews) that I should probably get a whole size up, but since that size (9) was sold out both at DSW and Steve Madden’s website, I took a chance on 8.

5. They are definitely still a little small in the toes, but since I won’t be running or exercising in them, I’m going to still keep them and hope they stretch a bit, or I might try adding a thinner insert.

I think if I’d gotten a 9 they would be perfect. Overall, I’m happy with them but I feel kinda dumb for spending over $100 on shoes that don’t even fit well and will probably hurt my feet. But they’re just sooo pretty!!!!!.

My new Romy walking shoes are just as comfortable as the old ones that I have worn to a nub! I purchased the taupe color this time, which is a nice neutral color. Instead of a white sole and trim, these have a very light cream color, which I like.

These shoes were so comfortable from the very first time I wore them. No break-in time is needed. Although these do not have a pronounced arch support, they work well with my orthotics which give me the arch support I need.

I wear a 10. 5 narrow, but have to get these in 11 narrow since they don’t have the half size I need. The fit is still good for me though, probably because of my orthotics. This is my third pair of Romys, so you know I have to like them to keep buying them.

As long as Easy Spirit does not change the way these are made (no “new and improved” needed!), I’ll be a lifelong customer. These were on back order, so I did have to wait several weeks to receive my order.

Since there was no critical need, that was not a problem for me.

I shop at the Rookwood Location where all the Staff are so willingly to help you find the right shoes. On this particular day I had that special person! I gave her my shoe size 10. 5-11 and width. not too many narrow widths but we managed.

I was just at my wit when my special customer service person showed me one last shoe and yes it was in my size but not the width. Not too many walking shoes have narrow widths, but anyway; I tried it on and oh my goodness it felt so good on my feet as I walked around.

Bought these for work. I gave 3 stars for the packaging. They came in a broken box with no lid, just the bottom of the shoe box. This is unacceptable for the price of over $ 100. 00. For the shoes themselves, I give 4 stars because I always wear size 5 or 5.

5 so I ordered size 5 but they are still large for me. I don’t think the sizing is correct. Order half a size smaller. Recommended but should try first before buy.

Managed to get these super cute pumps on sale and I’m really glad I did! I’m usually a 7. 5 but after reading some reviews, I ordered a size 8. They’re still a little snug and I can definitely see them giving me some blisters as I break them in, but they’re cute and I think the leather will loosen up with time.

The pink is more of a pink-nude – still fun and very professional. The heel is just right and the taper of the toe is a little narrower and shorter than I anticipated. Overall, happy with this cute and relatively comfy pair of heels!.

Bought these last week in blue suede and had to wear them all day the first time when I’d be doing a lot of walking. They were terrific! Toes weren’t pinched and balls of my feet were fine. I usually get blisters on my heels from new shoes so I put in gel pads, but not sure I would have needed them! Perfect! They are stylish but classic.

These are the most comfortable sneakers I own. It’s just something about slipping them on and the fit and comfort with no cons. It’s hard for me to find sneakers that are comfy as I am very picky cuz of my wide feet.

But they fit perfect!!! If you have regular, or narrow feet. I suggest a size down cuz the upper is very flexible/stretchy. And is wide footers, true to size. I purchased 3 pairs of NMD’s already this year alone with an additional 3 pairs of HU NMD’s.

My only thing is the quality could be a little better as you can see glue along some of the linings.

These shoes have glue marks like a few others have glue marks all around the shoe. Like a kid with a hot glue gun got them. Whatever distribution center or warehouse these are shipped from is TRASH. I’m fully expecting these to tear up and I’m not planning on using them for active wear.

Zero confidence in the build quality of them, and last pair of Adidas I buy. But hey, at last they look cool from afar.

Bought this pair and the metal silver shiny part that you see near the bottom of the shoe completely digs into your food making it extremely painful. I took the first pair back and bought a second one and the second one does the exact same thing so I’m returning it.

Currently I own nmd shoes of a different color and do not have this problem so it is an issue with this specific color. Too bad I liked the look.

I like the versatility of taupe colored shoes and this shoe caught my eye. Several reviewers said they wore them comfortably all day, but I couldn’t get out the front door in them. They were very stiff and hurt across the toe box edge.

I guess I’m used to the softness of the Lifestride shoes. I tried these for the lower price and nice color but comfort is what I need most. I walk a 30 acre campus and just can’t rough up my feet breaking in new shoes.

I should have stuck with what I normally buy. If you’re okay breaking in shoes these may eventually soften up and look fantastic.

This shoe had a terrible fit. They toe box stayed in place and was well formed, while the the rest of the shoe stretched out terribly, making it difficult to walk. In addition, you could see the outline of every toe, and the shoes were no where near too small.

The heel slipped right off, as well. I cannot say it runs large or small, just awkward. This is the second time I’ve tried this brand and I will not try them again. Just not the brand for me.

This is a beautiful shoe. I love, love, live the dark green color. They are very well made and the heel is just the right height. Unfortunately for me I had to return them because they were a tad tight and would have been uncomfortable to wear for me.

I do have wider than average feet but I ordered a half size larger which usually works but not with this shoe.

I thought the web site was easy to navigate and find what I thought I wanted. I have always worn a 6 1/2 medium shoe and this shoe was big and wide and not well made. But mostly these shoes were not comfortable at all.

I could hardly wear them for 5 minutes. I thought the postage was outrageously high. I returned the shoes today costing additional postage. I will not be buying shoes on-line again.

I had my eye on this slingback in nude/black for quite a while and I panicked when it was sold out in the medium width. So I took a chance and purchased the narrow and it was still too wide! Also the strap that runs along the outer quarter of the shoe to form the heel strap was deformed and bowed out so significantly that it didn’t even touch my foot.

Really weird! I found that they didn’t look as nice on my foot as they do in the picture and I didn’t care for that top stitching at all. Trotters has inconsistent sizing. Earlier this year I purchased a pair of Trotters loafers in narrow and they were uncomfortably tight.

So I have no idea what width to order now!.

Use the suggested feet measurement guide! I discovered I had 2 different sized feet. The sling back style helps as you can adjust them. I had been wearing a W for years, but now need a WW. I went down a half size in length.

The large width was only at the widest part of my foot but was not sloppy toward the heel. Just right. The support I’m used to isn’t there in this style, but I needed a dress shoe for a wedding. With all my foot issues, this is probably my best option.

My goal was to find something that didn’t hurt and could stay on my feet. Thank you customer service for talking me through and understanding my needs.

I brought this shoe a couple of days of ago. It is beautiful but there is no comfortable in-sole inside the shoe. It is hard on the inside. It feels like you are walking on the ground with no padding.

Since the shoe is in European sizes, I would suggest buying either between size or go up a size some these are only available online and not in store. I will be taking these shoes back and getting a full refund.

I was looking for such shoes. High-cut, sparkling shoes are what I was looking for. The sides of the shoes are cut so this shoe is for summer. The shoes are very light. I bought black and silver but returned black.

The reason I returned black is because sparkling is modest. I wasn’t satisfied. I thought silver was very sparkling and stylish. My daughter also loves sparkling and told me that she should be silver.

I usually wear size 7, but I bought 6. 5 for this shoe. I put insoles and tried it. It is advisable to buy this shoe smaller.

This shoe is fab. It’s definitely made for spring or summer wear due to the vented holes. But, it’s comfortable and very stylish. I didn’t buy it from this store. I bought mine from a boutique some years ago and they only had black.

A “wide” shoe that is NOT wide at all. From the arch down to the toes they are miserably tight. The back strap is too low and too close to the shoes heel and will NOT stay in place against the heel. They are impossible to keep on your feet.

One would think that simply adjusting the strap or adding more holes to the strap, it would stay in place against your heel but NO, it slips off easily. The shoes cost way more than what they are really worth.

They are pretty but both the designer and the manufacturer must be new to this business, to put it politely. Of course I can’t return them because I took the chance that adding another hole would keep them on my feet.

These shoes are gorgeous, and I really wanted them to work. The 6-1/2M fit me well and looked great. If only I didn’t have to walk in them! Sadly, I had to return because they were uncomfortable in a way I never expected — they were incredibly scratchy.

I’ve never had anything like this happen before. The inside of the slingback literally felt sharp in places. I tried them on at home wearing knee-high stockings. After just a few minutes walking around on my living room rug, I couldn’t wait to get them off.

The knee-highs wound up in the trash because there were so many pulls left behind. The shoe search continues.

This shoe is pretty snd easy to wear. It is good for standing, walking, and dancing. Every kind of dancing – from swing, to Latin, to twist snd Shout. I wore them to a wedding, and had a wonderful time.

I danced all night and my feet were fine. Sone of the event was outdoors in a wooded area with paths. I could walk easily and safely. And they are just soooo pretty! I bought the black with silver crystals, but they would be very nice and adaptable in white, silver, or gold.

I would consider another pair. I wear a 6M. They fit perfectly.

I love this shoe! It fits perfectly! I did order a narrow and I’ve never did that before. Also I did order a half size larger because they were out of my size in the color I wanted ,which was the Taupe.

I usually wear a medium but I’ve found that sometimes Array shoes do run a little wide. This shoe is sooo comfortable. I was pleasantly surprised as I needed these for my daughter’s wedding! As the narrow does fit I’m going to say they do run wide and also since I ordered a half size larger than normal I would say they also run larger than regular size.

I enjoy shopping with Massey’s! I really liked the shoes however they were too tight. I am continuing trying different brands of shoes until I find one that fits. Deliveries are quick, customer service is great! The only thing I don’t like is the cost of the shipping!.

This is a beautiful shoe but it runs small. I ordered 9W which should be comfortable, but the shoe feels tight. I asked customer service if shoes should be ordered larger, smaller, or were true to size and did not receive a specific answer via email.

It is difficult to order online, and I feel customer service should be able to help with this. Now I have to return them and am reluctant to order a size up because I don’t know what I’ll be getting.

Bought these for my brother’s wedding because my former go to special occasion shoes no longer fit me after my feet had gotten bigger from pregnancy. My feet were wide prior to pregnancy, and now they were even wider.

It was a struggle finding nice formal shoes that were wide enough but these worked great! The strap had a little give to them which helped with the fit. They were pretty comfy too. I was able to wear them pretty much the whole evening!.

Bought this shoe in black, size 7 and it fits perfectly. Its a comfortable sandal, the straps don’t pinch the top of my feet when I walk. I chose this sandal in part because it is faux leather, although it is more shiny in person than the pic.

Also, the braided leather looks flat compared to the picture. It looks a little cheaper that I had hoped but not bad enough to return since the price point and overall style meet my requirement for a casual sandal.

Love these shoes!! Read the reviews which gave me extra courage to buy and folks were right. They are adorable!! I wear a size 11 so I went up a size just to be safe and it fits so perfect!! Enough room that my toes and heels aren’t hanging over.

I ordered these pumps in black. I needed dress shoes to wear with a dress and these were on sale. I didn’t know if they would be comfortable and thought I may have to return them. I like the Slingbacks esp. for the warmer months! When a solid pump might be to heavy of a look for lighter weighted fabrics! I like the side straps to aid in holding the Heel one up! I ‘m 64! I bought this shoe in the blush version in NYC because the toe box was wide enough and curved enough at the right place to be comfortable and look good on my bunion foot. I always buy a shoe when I can get a one that looks feminine and accommodates my bunion.

I ordered them in black while I was in the store. They arrived at my house a week later. The toe box in the black was less curved. and slightly tighter, just enough to hurt. I compared them to the blush version and indeed there was a difference.

CLARKS YOU DON’T NEED MUCH OF A DESIGN DIFFERENCE (the curve a toe box or the place where it starts to curve) to throw the comfort level of a shoe off. The same size in different colors should fit the same way.

There was a time when any shoe I bought from Clarks was comfortable and attractive at the same time. Your shoes need to be designed by people who actually know how to make them and who understand the variations that can occur in the anatomy of a human foot and allow for that.

I am not suggesting that your company try to design a shoe that accommodates a foot that needs special shoes or orthotics, but my foot doesn’t need that. It just needs a little extra room in the toe box or a slight curve where the foot widens because, like many people, I have bunions.

Clarks is making their shoes too narrow, too straight these days. The help in the NYC store tell me they hear this all the time from long time customers. Bandolino toe boxes are feminine and fit beautifully.

Clarks should study them. The reason I turn to Clarks for shoes is for the padding and the sensible, but feminine looking kitten heels. I want a shoe that is attractive that I can wear with blue jeans to dress them up or at work all day.

If a shoe fits in one color IT SHOULD FIT THE SAME WAY IN ALL THE COLORS IT IS MADE IN. Where is the QUALITY CONTROL????? If you have a straighter foot these should be comfortable even with the design inconsistency.

If you don’t try to find a store where you can try them on.

I thought these shoes would be quite nice. They were the color, heel height and fabric I was looking for. Unfortunately, they are cheaply made. The fabric that should be tucked in between the sole of the shoe and the top of the shoe looked like it was cut too short.

I could see the fabric edge with loose, short threads. The fabric on the strap across the foot was wrinkled and appeared to be improperly mounted to the foundation of the strap. The heal pockets flare out like wings then the show is on.

My husband opened the box while I was at work and was concerned about me seeing them. He recognized the poor quality. Even with his limited attention to quality and knew I would not be pleased. I liked everything about the shoes before I received them but they are going back to Nordstrom tomorrow.

I bought these shoes for my wedding day because of all the reviews raving about how comfortable they are. They are absolutely beautiful! The color stands out but not to the point where it looked out of my place with my ivory dress.

They were comfortable when I first tried them on and for the first hour or so on wedding day, but then they became pretty painful. I wish that I had broken them in prior, but I didn’t want to damage them in any way before pictures.

I kept moving around during the ceremony to try and find a comfortable position, which was annoying. We took photos after the ceremony at another location, and I couldn’t wait to get back in the limo and rest my feet.

During the reception, I was probably too excited and caught up in the moment to care until the pain became unbearable late in the night. When it got bad, it got BAD. I couldn’t walk right the rest of the night or the next day.

I’m writing this over 3 weeks later with blisters still on my toes. I always go up a size with heels because I have wide feet, but it didn’t help much with these. Maybe a wide option would’ve helped, but the issue was also the lack of sole support.

It was like walking on literal eggshells. Overall, the shoes did their job and I was able to stand them for roughly 8 hours, which is an accomplishment. I wish that I had gotten more comfortable shoes so I didn’t have to fidget during the ceremony or even think about my shoes at all when there was so much else to take in, but overall I think they looked great and served their purpose.

The Badgley Mischka Louise Ankle Strap Sandal is beautiful and very sexy! After reading some of the reviews, I was worried about the rhinestone ankle strap being too tight. To my surprise, it fits my skinny ankles perfectly and I actually have some space.

I think it could be a problem if you have a thicker ankle. Also, to my surprise it is comfortable and I think I will be able to dance the night away! I don’t think I have to worry about bringing a back up pair to the wedding.

The heel height is a little more than 3″ and again very comfortable! I can actually walk normally. Overall, my shoe search for the wedding is done! Nordstrom’s really does have the best selection of shoes!!!.

At first, I loved these shoes. So comfy and I got so many compliments on them. After only maybe two months, the fabric at the side of the tops of each toe started to shred. I was irritated after paying $100 for a pair of sneakers, but they were still wearable so I kept wearing them.

After a couple more months, the stiff part around the back of the heel started to be crushed down and broken, digging into the back of by my heels. At this point I hadn’t had the shoes 6 months and I wasn’t even wearing them every day! The worst part is I called their customer service many times and no one ever answered.

So I sent an email through their website and no one responded to that. After spending so much on a pair of sneakers, being ignored was like a slap in the face. My husband bought a pair of mesas and had the same problem with the edges near the top of the toes wearing out.

I have a pair of Boulder boots, and those are wonderful. Nothing bad against Lems, I’m sure they are short staffed like everyone else but this is a faulty product and hopefully they’ve fixed or are fixing these issues.

Love the look of these shoes. I get tons of compliments. Uppers are nice and breathable but my main concern is for someone with a wide foot (not crazy wide–2E) the hard material on the outside of the forefoot (below the last 2 lace holes) causes me pain.

This isn’t a material that seems to break in over time either, which unfortunately keeps me from wearing these as often as i’d like, and certainly cannot wear for more than a few hours at a time. Also worth noting the included insoles offer a fairly flat foot profile so I had to replace with some from Sole.

Not a ton of cushion in the midsole but the firmness/ruggedness seems to lend itself well to light off road use where something a bit more rugged like a trail shoe is desired.

I bought these from the Lems site but thought I’d offer some insight here. They are a high quality shoe with enough support and cushioning to be very comfortable for trails or just general walking while still having a low stack height and a low heel to toe drop, 4mm I believe.

But because of the interior sock like construction I have to use a shoehorn to get them on even when barefoot. I generally wear them barefoot because the overall shoe and toe box is narrow. I have a medium width foot and with socks on my feet feel like they’re stuffed in there.

For those not looking for a true minimalist shoe these would be a good choice, however I’d pick the Traiheads – same construction but a normal tongue that would make putting them on and off much easier.

If you plan to wear socks, especially any with padding, start with whatever size you normally wear and go up from there. If you’re looking for a true minimalist, barefoot style shoe look at the Primals, much wider and more comfortable toe box.

Or the Boulder boot models for boot style minimalism.

They are sooo cute!!! The wide strap on top gives your ankles really good support. I have wider feet and these fit perfectly! The block heel is also very nice, gives you good balance. They go well with any dress, my absolute favorite pair of heels!.

These heels are so beautiful. I have always struggled to find heels that fit me because of my wide feet. These are the 1st pair that actially fits me perfectly. The only thing is that they hurt my feet.

Not sure if it’s because I rarely walked in heels my entire life or they actually do need a little more support on the bottom of my feet. Also, in closed toed shoes I’m 7 1/2 and on sandals I’m 8. I took a risk and decided to go with 71/2.

I love them! These are so comfy for my wide feet! I would probably side down a bit though, I normally wear a size 5. 5 and I think a size 5 would have fit perfect. Waiting for a restock so I can buy the black pair in a size 5!.

They Look better in the picture. The sizes on the inside of the shoe shows 8/39 while the outside shows 8/38. Quality looks a little compromised, And brand labeled on Shoe is Anne Michelle. Though all shoes on the site would be labeled Fashionnova.

I love these shoes. They fit just as well as the designer names! Love the Cognac color, so pretty and have already gotten compliments just walking in the door at work.

These are really cute pumps. A good addition to my wardrobe. I just wish they would have been available in a 9 1/2. Fit pretty good tho!

I bought theses shoes for a cocktail party. They are very cute and sexy! Great Price! However, I was only able to wear them for part of the night. They are comfortable IF you are used to high heels. I hardly ever where high heels.

Thus, after a couple of hours I could not walk on them anymore. The ball of my feet hurt so much that I had to switch into some sandals. Perhaps if I buy some padding for the ball of my feet they could be more comfy.

So, If you cannot were very high heels, you are better buying some with a lower heel, or more padding.

I bought these to wear to my son’s wedding last weekend. When I first put these on I thought that there was no way I would be wearing these the entire wedding but much to my surprise they were on my feet the entire time.

I danced the whole night in them. Would definitely recommend!.

Very comfortable. I have wide feet, so the wide width was very comfortable. It’s cushioned at the heel and ball of the shoe that takes the pressure off your feet. I would highly recommend the shoe. The fit, padding, comfort, and elegance of this shoe is unmatched! I have never worn a 3+ in heel for any length of time without feeling pain. Don’t get me wrong- it’s still difficult for me to look completely graceful while walking bc they’re high and being a size35 limits the flexion my foot can make.

One of my heels did slip out sometimes due to the height and my smaller foot sliding a little bit toward the toebox. I placed a silicone pad to help out. I purchased the PP85 in Taupe Suede, Perfect Block Sandal 60 Sand Calf, PP50 in Black.
