20 Best Shampoo For Frizzy Hair In Humidity (2023 Updated)

Background: A lot of fine hair, very oily scalp living in a dry climate I got a sample of this and liked it enough to buy the full size. It’s $28 at Sephora or Ulta for 4oz. So, it’s not cheap, but it’s not bad either.

A little product goes a long way so you will have the 4oz bottle for a while. Scent: Okay, this is the only downfall. It is a gardenia/freesia scent that is nice, but definitely there. It also lingers.

When I use this, I put my hair up in a bun, so it doesn’t get near my face to cause a reaction or get on my sheets/pillows. The texture is creamy, smooth and absorbs slowly at first, about 50% in 15 mins, then the remaining absorbs overnight.

I does not totally smooth existing split-ends or course ends. I started using it every 3rd night as a preventive measure to keep the ends from breaking and it works very well for this. Best part about this product – IT IS SILICONE FREE! Many people don’t have issues with ‘cones, but I have learned through trial and error over many years that while silicones may provide immediate results – smoothed split ends, more manageable hair in general, decreased frizzies, the ‘cones accumulate on your hair with repeated use, build up and actually prevent moisture from getting to the strands, which is just counter to what most people are wanting a product to do.

I have done some research on this in the past and over-moisturized hair will become frizzy. So, it’s a balancing act with hair products to keep it healthy with necessary hydration, but not with products built up and causing hair to go dull, limp and frizzy.

This is great for me as I use a shampoo for oily scalp on a daily basis, use a light conditioner mid-shaft to hair ends only. I also use very few styling products: sometimes mousse, other times a Living Proof Curl Defining Styling Cream on the ends only.

I don’t usually leave reviews, but this shampoo solved one of my most irritating daily struggles. For a while, I’d been getting out of the shower and my scalp was still visibly oily and gross and I tried everything to fix it.

I scrubbed my head with my old shampoo like they do at the salon, I used a blow dryer, I washed my hair every day. Nothing. The first time I used this, I was IMMEDIATELY relieved. I let my hair air dry and it felt weightless.

I am a little surprised by all the negative reviews of this product, but perhaps this is best for only certain types of hair. I have very thick, corse hair that gets dried out easily. I have found this shampoo, plus the conditioner of the same line, and the Liquid Glass Sealant gives me the best result of anything I have tried.

The shampoo and conditioner are effective with only a small amount. They leave my hair moisturized and smooth. I gave the shampoo 4 stars because of the packaging. The container is made of such stiff plastics that once I get down to about half of the container left, it is almost impossible to get it out.

You cannot “squeeze” the container because it is so stiff. I finally had to (literally) take saw and saw off the bottle of the container and then scrape out the remaining shampoo into another container.

I purchased this product last year while the company was having a sale. I never tried Redken products before and read good reviews on it so I decided to give it a try. I noticed right off the bat it smelled like a clean and fresh perfume.

I am a big fan of scented hair products so it was a plus for me. As I lathered it into my hair, it foamed up pretty well and seemed to give it a good clean. After I had dried my hair, I noticed my hair appeared more shiny and soft.

I have naturally curly hair so when I blow dry and straighten it, there is still normally a lot of frizz. This shampoo definitely helped take away a lot of the frizziness in my hair, but not all of it.

There was still a small amount of frizziness in my hair but definitely better than what it was before I started using this shampoo. I had actually stopped using this product only because of it’s lasting power.

I don’t wash my hair everyday, I normally like to wash it every two to three days and I noticed the next day, my hair looked as if I hadn’t washed it for three days. My roots were so greasy. Yes, dry shampoo can help with that, but I didn’t want to have to drown my hair in product the very next day after washing it the day before.

Overall, I liked this shampoo for the frizz control, but if I would have been able to go a couple more days without it looking like I had to wash it the next day, I would keep using it.

I have curly hair that craves moisture, so this shampoo seems like a good fit. The shampoo itself is very thick, so it’s probably best for someone with thick/ curly hair because it would weigh down thin hair.

I like the size of the bottle. It fits nicely in my shower caddy shelf. I do not particularly like where the opening of the hole is to dispense the product. The top opens differently than I expected.

It would also be nicer if the shampoo and conditioner bottle were different from each other. I am blind without my contacts or eyeglasses ( which I never would shower while wearing) and the bottles are near identical.

If one bottle had a darker label that would help. Overall, this is a good product and it will definitely keep static and frizz away.

I am in love with Pureology Smooth Perfection Shampoo! This is my first time trying Pureology and I had no idea what to expect. The first thing I noticed about the smooth perfection shampoo was the scent, I loved the hints of cocoa.

Upon first application I decided to use a small amount and I am glad I did, a little bit goes a long way with this shampoo. I have really long hair and I only had to use a quarter size amount or less.

I want to point out that I always have to use a handful of shampoo when I use my usual drugstore brand, so I was shocked by how little I had to use of the pureology. I massaged the shampoo in my hair for a good 1 to 2 minutes and then proceeded to wash it out.

My hair felt so soft and clean without feeling stripped at all. I typically have a lot of fallout when I wash my hair, but noticed less strands of hair coming out while washing. I followed up by using the pureology smooth perfection conditioner.

I also use a quarter size amount or less and it was more than enough. I focused this conditioner at the ends of my hair and put whatever was leftover on my roots. I let the conditioner sit for the recommend time of 1 to 2 minutes and then proceeded to wash it out.

I felt like it took no time to wash all of the conditioner out. My hair was less tangled and overall felt so much healthier than what I am used to. I used the smoothing lotion on the ends of my hair, blow dried my hair and was so amazed by the end result.

The end result after I blow dried and straightened my hair was incredible. My hair was less frizzy and more straight making it so easy to straighten. I would like to add that my hair is very wavy/curly and frizzy after washing.

The price for the Pureology Smooth Perfection set is a bit expensive, but honestly it is worth every penny. I would definitely recommend this Pureology line of haircare products. Pureology Smooth Perfection is my new Holy Grail of haircare.

This shampoo impressed me! As someone with colored hair that’s naturally a bit wavy, I felt like this shampoo did a great job at reducing flyaways and frizz. I really love that it’s color safe, I have dyed red hair that typically fades pretty quickly but the color continued to stay vibrant while using this shampoo.

I normally air dry my hair, but I found that blow drying it straight worked way better with this line. I used the smooth perfection shampoo, conditioner and smoothing lotion, and felt like the three products really worked well together! I personally didn’t like the scent, I thought it was a bit too strong, but it does fade quickly.

One thing I really didn’t like about this shampoo is that it doesn’t help with oil control, so my hair was getting oily within a day or two. I typically wash my hair every 3-4 days and found myself washing it way more often when using this shampoo/conditioner.

Because of that, I do think that I’ll switch back to my precious shampoo when I finish this one, but I definitely still recommend this shampoo for people who struggle with dry and frizzy hair.

I used the shampoo in conjunction with the conditioner and they worked so well together! They made my hair so soft and smooth I didn’t even need to use a detangler spray (which I ALWAYS have to use on my naturally wavy and frizzy hair).

My hair still seemed a little frizzy after drying, but by the second day it was much better. And one day I straightened my hair, which I almost never do anymore because it would always leave my hair feeling dry and it would get tangled very easily, but not this time! It was soooo super smooth and soft, it was great! I couldn’t really say how well it protects your hair color as mine had already faded before I was it out, but I’m sure it’s comparable to other shampoos and conditioners that protect dyed hair color.

The only con for me would be that I don’t love the smell of the shampoo and conditioner. It reminds me of a typical fresh deodorant scent (like secret), which is not terrible, I just would prefer something more fruity.

Otherwise it’s a great product and I will buy this in the future!.

Where I live the humidity is awful. Your hair gets frizzy MINUTES after stepping somewhere that doesn’t have an air conditioner. The frizz began to get worse when I started to dye my hair, but Discipline came to my rescue.

I love this product so much. It smells like perfume. My hair is not frizzy anymore, it doesn’t fade my hair colour, and when I decided to straighten my hair (a temporary chemical treatment) it made it LAST LONGER than it should have.

It’s great for maintenance. It’s also worth mentioning how moisturizing it feels, and when they say “use a dime size” they really mean it. A little goes a long way with this product. It’s a crime Kerastase has not released a refillable format for this collection.

I have always known Kerastase products are really good, years ago I used to use their Bain Oleo Relax line and I loved it. The price point was always a little high for me, but definitely worth it. So I’m looking for a shampoo/conditioner that can hydrate, smooth, and just overall make my hair look shiny and healthy. I researched and Youtubed all Kerastase’s new lines, and boy have they come out with alot of different lines.

I saw a Youtube video recommending this to help with frizz. I found this Kerastase Discipline Shampoo and the price was really good so I decided to try it. And I love it! My hair is softer in the shower after I’ve shampooed, not stiff, I have less tangles combing my hair out when I get out, my hair feels stronger, is my curls are less frizzy, hair is shinier.

All around my hair looks much healthier. It even smoothes out better when I go to blowout my hair straight with my Revlon styler brush. Smell is really nice. Mild but high end soft fragrance.

This is my favourite shampoo, I’ve used this for years now. I had a few months where I used something different in between and my hair felt horrible. Finally back to normal

I really did not want to love this (because of the price tag) but my gosh, I am in love! To start off- my hair was very dry, damaged from highlights (that were then dyed dark brown), and overall frizzy.

I have S-waves that sometimes want to be straight, and sometimes curly. But one thing for sure is that my hair is prone to frizz and dryness. This shampoo (and conditioner) REALLY helped with this. I’ve been using it for a few weeks, and my gosh is the difference amazing and noticeable.

My hair is less frizzy, it feels soft, nourished and silky. It’s also easier to style and my s-waves are behaving (more straight). The scent is also amazing! It’s honestly the best thing I’ve tried on my hair!.

As it’s so thick and creamy you don’t need to use lots of this shampo ! 100 recommend if you have similar type of hair like me.

It smelled great, warm and feminine; slightly vanilla with touches of powder and other clean pretty scents. The texture is creamy, it lathered well, a rich foam throughout my head, made me feel I was truly getting product coverage.

When I scoured my head I felt as if it was really cleaning it, and nourishing it as well. I was very pleased with the shampoo process. My hair blew dried with less frizz or fly – aways than usual and the end result was lovely FULL BODDIED hair that I would usually only see at the salon.

I am recovering from Covid-19 induced Telogen Effluvium. My shedding had stopped, or a least slowed to a normal daily level, for several weeks. I’d been using Redken Extreme throughout the shedding process, which protected my hair.

My stylist said I needed a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner as we moved into recovery and this Matrix Total Results duo came highly recommended at our local Cosmoprof. By Day 7 of using these, my shedding increased to TE levels.

I was terrified and stopped using them, returning to my Redken products. The shedding stopped again, thank goodness. Whatever is in this formula is not something I can entrust my regrowing hair and scalp to, having endured three months of TE so recently.

I first used this when I moved in with my girlfriend (curly hair) and used this product in her shower and was amazed how soft and clean my hair felt. I have been using it since I moved in with her. This was our first time living together and she has been commeting that she never realized how much my hair sheds and that it was EVERYWHERE.

I was kinda confused because I had never noticed it so badly but figured it was something I had never given thought to and was now aware of. When it was on sale on black friday i stocked up on it. However I started to get seriously concerned about my hair thinning out: I would run my hand through my hair and a lot of hair would come out with it.

I am not even joking when I say a lot would come out, like enough to clog a shower drain. I went to a doctor and got a thyroid test done and nothing was wrong. I chalked it up to just getting older or maybe losing weight.

I went to show her how it was falling out however to my suprise a normal amount of hair was coming out each time i ran my hands through it. I realized instantly that it was the shampoo. I had not been using at my parents home for a while and now it was not falling out.

I am furious, I bought so much of this stuff when it was on sale and my hair is ruined for the near future. I always prided myself on having a nice thick mane of hair. Now I literally have maybe a 1/3 of it.

I am only thankful for not having an obvious bald spot lol. I am trying to get a refund for the money I have spent on this shampoo and I will likely just give the shampoo to my gf because it seems to work without issue for her.

But I will never ever touch this product again with a 5 foot pole.
