20 Best Shampoo And Conditioner For Sensitive Scalp (2023 Updated)

It took about a month, but my scalp is finally in better condition. My scalp was very dry, sensitive, and irritated. When I saw flakes on my pillow, I decided enough was enough. I read up on the products and reviews, and bought this Nioxin Scalp Relief.

Followed the directions, using all 3 products. Love the serum, which makes my hair look thicker, and soothes my scalp. After about two weeks (6 uses), the flakes completely disappeared, and the irritation was noticeably reduced.

Even my hair stylist noticed that my scalp was healthier. I only wish the serum came in a bigger bottle!.

I suffer from psoriasis/dermatitis on my scalp. It sucks, nothing has helped and I’ve been searching for years. It’s worse in winter of course. I’ve only used this kit twice so far. A friend recommended it to me who used to be a hair dresser.

He told me to use every other wash and my regular shampoo in between. My scalp is 100% less irritated. After the first wash the patches started to shed but without any irritation to my skin. And after the second I hardly have any patches! Still some dryness that I notice, but soooo much better.

All these years I have been using the wrong hair care product. The moment I picked up the kit, I knew I had something special. The three-step procedure ensures that my scalp is not only well-cleaned but also moisturized and nourished.

On top of that, the serum has a yummy fragrance that lasts a whole day. For the harsh Toronto weather in the winter, this is heaven-sent. A solid 5 out of 5, and I would totally recommend this to my fellow guy friends.

This shampoo is somehow less irritating than the shampoo I was using prior that was specifically meant to contain absolutely no irritants. I think it might be the consistency – it’s very lightweight and thin, but substantive and lathers.

It does a fantastic job of actually cleaning too, but it’s so gentle you feel nothing but a clean scalp and hair with no scents, no buildup, nothing. I used Kevin Murphy’s line for ages, but I became sensitized to a lot of scents.

I don’t feel like I’ve really loved a shampoo in forever, but I love this one. I didn’t order the conditioner because I didn’t want to get ahead of myself, but if it’s anything like the shampoo, I’ll be thrilled.

Hello everyone. I came across this product. I mean I was constantly looking for a mild chemical free shampoo as I was facing a postpartum hair fall. I fortunately came across the Tree To Tub. Soapberry shampoo.

I also read its contents, and I thought why not? I give this a try and uh it’s amazing. It’s not only gentle, it’s also paraben sulfate uh silicon free, which is required for the water today. And also apart from the stress and tension that we go through, we require this kind of a shampoo, which is a very mild gentle on the scalp as an and we can use this on a daily basis.

So this is an amazing product for all you women out there who want to get their hair shampooed on a daily basis without having to worry that you know, it can be harsh on their scalp. Uh it can cause hair green issues.

This is amazing. I can’t wait to try and just try their shampoo. I can’t wait to try their other products, especially their conditioner. So my hair actually feels a lot more gentle and a lot more thicker fuller bouncy without even having to do blow dry my hair or straightening my head.

I just feel so moisturized and so nourished in just one or two uses. So I can see the difference right there and I would love to use their other range of products. So thank you so much Tree To Tub for creating this amazing product and can’t wait to try all the other products that you’ll have, thank you.

My wife has been using this product for a few months. Recently I developed a rash on my scalp suspiciously like psoriasis and confirmed by my doctor. I’ve used this product, together with the conditioner, each day for the last couple of weeks or so and massaged it into my scalp as directed.

The results have been outstanding in diminishing the redness and flakiness – and together with the doctor’s salve, I have no signs of itchiness any more and the area involved is becoming smaller and smaller.

I really like the smell of the conditioner and in combination with the shampoo, it helped my itchy scalp! I’m giving it a 4 stars because it didn’t totally healed my itchy scalp although I don’t know if my scalp can be completely healed.

I like the natural product versus the chemical ones anyways.

My favourite hair conditioner. I have dry hair and it fits my hair. It has very good smell. Nourishing complex provides shine and volume.

This is an excellent product and I highly recommend. I have been using this for almost a year and I use it with the Sebamed Anti Hair Loss Shampoo and both are a great combination for my hair.

I’d love to give this a great review as I’m a fan of natural products; unfortunately, this “conditioner” left my hair feeling thick and waxy. I could barely get a brush through it. I could not wait to wash my hair again with a conditioner from another company.

So love this product is great. I’ve been trying to get into the habit of using conditioner every time I wash my hair, so far I do see a difference. However I wish the conditioner was as large is the shampoo bottle from Lavera, as it is rather small.

It contains lactic acid which smoothes the hair strands immediately. Daxxin is a little unknown gem. Simple but super effective ingredients. Quite incredible. Do alternate with a richer balsam / hair mask in between like Total repair Gliss ( white line ) if you have curly / dry hair.

My hair is very fine and sometimes lacklustre, I find this shampoo is very soft and gentle and also easy on my scalp. It comes up lovely after washing and smells great too bonus. Would highly recommend.

Although I love this product, however I couldn’t buy that particular 1 in my local shops? Unfortunately by the time I received it I found that it wasn’t suitable for my hair after all so I haven’t used it, the scent is lovely which attracted me to the shampoo in the 1st place, it turns out the gel shampoos not creme shampoos are better for my hair.

Very good conditioner even better when used with shampoo. Leaves hair sod and shiny and has a nice smell. Leaves hair looking more moisturised.

Keune Care is amazing and underrated. If you can find it, get it because it’s sooo worth it! I’ve been rotating this into my hair care routine with Olaplex and Pureology- it’s been the perfect magical trio for my hair.

I’m so in love with everything about this conditioner! My hair feels so smooth after using. It lost a star only because it’s inconvenient to buy; I can drive to the salon in person or wait a week on postal shipping through a salon based in California.

Excellent shampoo and conditioner!! These are on the pricy side, but I always buy mine when the salon I go to has a special or a sale. You don’t need a lot of product to get the job done. Both the shampoo and conditioner smell nice, nothing really heavy or perfume-like, just nice and clean.

I have dark brown hair that I’ve been having highlighted heavily for several months and I have no damage to my hair. My hair is soft and shiny and looks healthy. That’s why I pay extra for this brand.

Due to the sudden loss of a parent I think the shock made me start to get lots of allergies but almost instantly I couldn’t even use my normal shampoos, they would literally burn my head. And my scalp became inflamed so I had to switch everything from my hair products to my makeup items.

I tried a few of the Green People shampoos hoping that one of them would soothe my poor head! And the relief was literally instant. They are natural and soothing and not only that but my hair has become so much healthier these past few months since using these shampoos.

I also love the quinoa shampoo, leaves my hair so shiny, and they all leave squeaky clean hair too. I never realised before but I’m sure my hair had a lot of product buildup because since using this shampoo and the other shampoos from Green People my hair now feels so much more lightweight and less tangled and swings when I move.

Much more bouncy and volumised too, less product weighing it down it seems like! Absolutely brilliant. And you don’t need to use much either, just a little bit gets my hair lovely and clean.

Fabulous shampoo! I received a sample of this and the matching conditioner. I chose not to try it for months because I I had purchased and was using another brand which is a shampoo-only product and had rave reviews.

That product was performing well on my hair and calming the dryness and frizz/ fluffiness down so I was wary of trying anything else. The results of the other shampoo were for some reason not going as well anymore and so I thought I’d try this.

Wow – my hair felt so soft when rinsing the product out and when I dried my hair – I couldn’t stop touching it! So – I ordered a bottle of each and am recommending it to everyone. It has worked really well for me and I’m loving the difference it’s made to my hair.

I have always had a sensitive scalp for as long as I can remember. Hairbrushing makes me wince, having rollers removed requires paracetamol, I can’t run or sleep with my hair tied back because the ‘pull’ hurts, and yes my scalp is itchy.

I used to use a fairly ‘toxic’ medicated shampoo prescribed by my GP but switched to Green People many years ago and I haven’t looked back! First I used their Clarifying Shampoo then I switched to this one and now my husband uses it too.

The slight lavender scent is soothing, the shampoo is gentle and provides instant relief, and my hair is soft and shiny as a result. I shampoo twice (once a week), followed by Intensive Repair conditioner and my hair and head are happy.

I agree with other reviewers, this is not effective as a conditioner. However, it’s decent as a moisturizing shampoo. I asked for a refund when I realized it strips my hair and doesn’t work as a conditioner.

Vitacost was kind enough to refund the purchase price and allowed me to keep the product. I didn’t know what to do with it since it’s not effective (for me) as a conditioner, so I decided to try it as a shampoo because I noticed it really does strip oils away.

And. experiment successful! It cleans my scalp well and leaves my hair softer than if I’d used regular shampoo. It’s even tough enough to remove the tamanu oil I apply to my hair before washing to avoid overly drying my hair out.

So now I plan to use this conditioner as my shampoo at least once in a while, but I would not recommend it as a conditioner. I have thick hair that can easily be dried out but with the right products it can also be very soft.

It is sometimes curly and sometimes straight. If your hair is like mine, maybe try this as a shampoo. I’d probably give it a 4 star rating if it was being sold as a shampoo, but since it’s inefffective for its advertised use, I’m giving it 3 stars.

I’m sensitive to perfumes/scents and switched to this conditioner probably 5+ years ago because of that. (So many shampoos/conditioners have a strong smell that makes me feel ill. ) I was co-washing with it for a number of years, but I have switched hair routines but still include this one in my rotation.

I really like that I can add a drop or two of tea tree oil and/or peppermint oil to it and make a really great smelling conditioner that my dry scalp seems to appreciate. I hope they don’t stop making this conditioner because it’s great.

I like the way my hair feels and looks after I used this Earth Sceience Extra Gentle Frangrance Free conditioner. However, it has a flowery scent that takes an extra few shower minutes to wash away. I would recommend it to a friend who does not struggle with scents.

I am in love. This is the first product I have tried for my sensitive scalp that actually does anything. It doesn’t foam up nearly as much as other shampoos, but it leaves my hair soft and manageable without stripping my scalp and hair.

It does take some extra work to rinse out, but absolutely worth it. So thankful the hairdresser at a Ulta recommended it.

Not a fan. I guess this Whole Blends (or Ultra Dolce in Italian) line of Garnier is not for me. Tried a few products and was disappointed. Seemed ok at first but then hair is not so good for styling and to hold the style afterwards.

Hair become too fluffy and a bit frizzy especially on soft and naturally curly hair like mine (especially considering I’m using an expensive amazing straightener that does extraordinary job for me). Will not buy again and will not recommend to people with similar hair to mine.

“Not My Favorite Garnier Conditioner”: I received a free sample pouch of each of these two products from PINCHme in exchange for my truthful and honest review of the products, and this will be the review of the conditioner: Garnier Whole Blends Gentle Shampoo & Conditioner Oat Delicacy.

The first thing you notice is the scent, which is quite strong before applying but somewhat dissipates during the day after usage. It has an almost baby powder scent, which I think they’re using to go along with the “delicacy” theme, as if we need constant reminding that it’s gentle conditioner we’ve used.

Personally, as a middle-aged adult, I don’t want my hair to smell like a baby product smell, which is very distinguishable as such no matter WHAT brand/kind of baby product (hair/wipes/lotions) it comes from.

When I condition my hair, I like it to smell CLEAN and not like any fruits, baby bottoms, or strong designer perfumes, but I don’t even mind certain floral scents as long they’re not obnoxious. I also like my conditioner to make my hair feel very silky when applying after washing so I can finger-comb the many tangles out, but this Oat Delicacy product made my hair feel as if there was no silkiness going on anywhere and added no manageability for me.

I like my hair to be somewhat shiny and swingy, easy to pull my fingers through (I have long curly/wavy medium hair), and stay that way for at least a day. I think the film/residue is coming from whatever the “oats” ingredients are, because I know my hair would feel the same way if I rinsed it in cloudy water that I boiled oatmeal in for sure.

I don’t know if these products are better suited to children or those with allergies, but I wasn’t happy with one of the harsh ingredients that was in the shampoo (not the conditioner), so I wouldn’t be using both together as a system due to that anyway.

I think there are other more natural hypoallergenic gentle conditioners out on the market today that don’t have that baby scent, which in my opinion, doesn’t belong in a “gentle” conditioner designed for adults.

Garnier has great shampoos, but to me, this is just not one of them.

I order your larger sizes because a) they are obviously far more economical; b) for the Pump dispenser – I have severe arthritis in my hand/fingers and dealing with these 1lire bottles without a pump dispenser is very difficult for me.

Also I really do like the products. HOWEVER, when I ordered the Scalp Shampooo a while back, expecting the pump that was featured, it arrived without one, just the normal cap. Likewise when I ordered the Scalp Conditioner – it came minus the pump.

I requested a pump for the Shampoo but no response – please would you forward one to me ASAP – I have resorted to refilling the small bottle but that’s a real pain in the neck (& hands). Why advertise these products with the Pump? Philip Kingsley products have them in their larger size – I might have to resort to purchasing from them again.

I have searched for so long to find a truly fragrance free conditioner (and shampoo) that wouldn’t further irritate my eczema. This is the one. I love the conditioner. It leaves my hair soft and shiny, and with the shampoo and firm hold gel, I’ve been getting compliments on the shine in my hair.

My hair has more body and shine than with the very expensive shampoos and conditioners I was using that caused my eczema to worsen. My scalp doesn’t react at all to these products. I do have to say – it takes a little getting used to the shampoo, which is sulfate free.

I’ve read other reviews of other sulfate free products, and it does take a few weeks to transition from sulfate shampoos to sulfate free. My hair didn’t really stay clean very long at the beginning. And I thought it would be a problem.

But a few weeks in, my hair stays clean longer, and my scalp and hair seem to be getting used to this. I read other reviews that said these have a smell to them. I don’t smell anything, and i’m super sensitive to fragrances.

I’m a bit torn on this product, it’s still sitting in my shower and occasionally I’ll use it as a first step wash when my hair is particularly dirty or I have some scalp sensitive or build-up but it is definitely not my go to shampoo.

I have very long 2b/2c curls and waves and this is not hydrating when used on my lengths. In fact, I’ve found it to even be quite stripping of my moisture. However, I have not encountered any other product that makes my scalp feel quite as clean and happy as this shampoo does.

For that reason when I use this product I focus it on my scalp and roots and do my best to avoid my length and ends which unfortunately sometimes causes tangles, again I think because of the product’s drying effect on my hair, but this is the best way I’ve found to use it.

BUT I will say, I have VERY sensitive, reactive skin and had a bad skin reaction to a previous dandruff scalp I was using (my scalp is also very sensitive, I thought I had dandruff for forever but turns out I just have a dry, sensitive scalp) and my dermatologist recommended this brand to me.

So if you have very sensitive reactive skin and are looking for a shampoo that will make you feel clean and won’t irritate you, I’d recommend this for sure! Best of luck, I hope I was helpful!.

Pros: Great for fragrance sensitivity. It’s hard to find fragrance free shampoo readily available at Target. The skin on my chest and back stopped breaking out when I used this no conditioner. (Couldn’t find the matching conditioner for this one.

) Also my hair was not as flaky. Cons: I have dry hair and scalp. This left my hair feeling waxy in the shower (I don’t know how else to describe it) but when it dried it wasn’t too bad. I had a pixie cut so I didn’t really care at first.

Now that my hair is growing I need more moisture. Like I said I have dry, flaky scalp, and while the no fragrance helps, it’s still not moisturizing enough. When I implemented a conditioner the flakiness and waxy feeling went away (but I ended up breaking out again) Also it can be hard to lather at first, but you get used to it.

Overall I still liked it, going to buy a fragrance free conditioner so I can keep my hair moisturized.

Great for people with skin sensitivity. This does not make my skin itch and I noticed that my hair isn’t falling out in clumps when I wash my hair. I might lose all of 10 hairs after washing with this.

I tend to have oily skin and hair, this may be the difference between people who love this and those who don’t. If you have oily hair, this is an excellent choice. Some people have commented that it’s harsh on their hair, but that feeling lasts for only a few minutes right after rinsing.

I don’t use conditioner and this shampoo does NOT feel harsh after I brush out my hair. My hair brushes out super easy with this shampoo, just start with the bottom of your hair and brush your way up and you won’t have any problems at all.

This product really works. I brought it for my brother who has suffered for ever with a flaky scalp, not a nice look on his shoulders and clothing! After numerous doctor appt and conventional remedies i decided to buy him the care taker shampoo for christmas 2021, told him to ditch all his other shampoos.

After a few months i noticed the debri on his shoulders and clothing was reduced (good sign) ask him has he been using the Care Taker shampoo YES was his response, brought the Care Taker scalp tonic too which he uses every day.

We purchased a new bottle of shampoo and the scalp tonic at the end of July not only does it work it last ages too. FANTASTIC my brother is so pleased and he seem to look happier these days 🤷‍♀️ absolutely adore your products.

This shampoo has been a saviour for my teenage daughter and sons hair. Both suffered sensitive, itchy scalp with some dandruff. The usual high street brands were way too harsh but Care Taker has been ideal.

Flakey scalp noticeably reduced with a couple of weeks and we continue to use to keep the scalp soothed and flake free. Excited to try the other products in the range. Thanks too for making an unscented version.

My autistic son isn’t great with strong smells so this option is invaluable.

I’ve used the Care Taker Shampoo, Wave Hello Conditioner, Wave Hello Curl Taming Cream and Hello Curls Primer. They all smell great but my hair is greasy as soon as it dries. I’ve realised through trial an error that it’s the shampoo and conditioner.

I activate it in my hand and the fact that it doesn’t lather doesn’t really bother me but it doesn’t matter how much or how little I use my hair is always greasy. My curls are definitely more defined and there is less frizz but my hair just isn’t clean.

I’ve contacted the noughty team for help but I’ve got no reply. I really don’t know what else to do.
