20 Best Shaft For 90 Mph Swing Speed (2023 Updated)

I have tried literally dozens of high-end shafts and the Project X Hzrdus Smoke Black is the best! In my search for the ultimate shaft, I have even gone to the high-priced club fitting leaders and this shaft outperformed everything else they threw at me! On the course I am consistently hitting 80+% of the fairways and, when I do mis, it is not by much! The shaft is 10 to 15 yards longer than anything else I have tried.

This shaft says “low launch†but I find it to be more of a mid-launching shaft. I have it paired with a Callaway Rouge St driver set at 9. 5. My swing speed is 93 and I am playing a 5. 5 flex. I believe this shaft plays slightly stiffer than a normal 5.

5 flex. No shaft works for everyone, but for this price, you owe it to yourself to give it a try – for me, it was the best money I have spent on golf improvement!.

This is a good profile and a shame that Project X no longer produces it. Its basically a Black with a slightly softer tip. Its still no where near whippy or soft, and the more active tip is just barely there.

This is perfect for those who love the stable feel of the Black but want a slightly higher launch. The flex on these play about a 1/2 to a full step firmer. 5. 5 feels more stiff than MCA or GD’s S+, and 6.

0 is closer to X. This will also make a good fairway shaft for those who game the Black with their driver.

This shaft feels very close to the stock shaft at the tip. I expected it to feel more boardy. It does not. My grouping is much tighter, and if i have an error, a slight push. Releases very progressively.

Just slightly lower ball height. Cannot really tell difference in yardage yet. I have not played with my normal playing partner yet who is normally about 10 yards ahead of me. I feel i am longer. My playing partners have commented for the past several weeks how well I am hitting my driver.

It rarely costs me strokes.

This is a descendant of the original Aldila Green shaft which was arguably the first great graphite wood shaft over 30 years ago. Its lighter, and of course has progressed over time with modern shaft technology but it is still a fairly priced standard that if fit properly will deliver as well as any shaft on the market.

I’ve aged and my game has deteriorated since I bought my first green but I bought the NVS Orange in A flex, 45 grams and the result was perfect. Smooth load and perfect mid high flight. My SS is between 75 and 80 mph with a smooth transition.

Replaced a Ping G400 standard length Alta CB shaft in Regular with this shaft, shortened by 1. 5 inches and in stiff flex. Shaft feels much more stable, especially at impact, with no apparent loss of distance, also feel I am swinging the club slightly faster.

Nordica fitted the G400 sleeve to the shaft and it was delivered promptly within 4 days to the UK with my preferred grip. Excellent service all round, would highly recommend both shaft and Nordica.

took it out once. got 4 good drives out of it, the fifth drive sent the club head about 20 yards (at least the ball went 200+) – I did NOT hit the ground, all were clean drives. I was happy with the performance until the club head flew off – I had to finish the round driving with a 3 wood.

worse yet, Dick’s charged me to replace it! they were nice enough about it, gave me 50% off and no charge on the labor. All in all a disappointing experience.

Tried it out at the range and loved the feel right out of the box!.

Been playing these for a bit and no issues. Actually a great feeling shaft. To the gentleman that kept breaking his, you should do more research before you purchase. Obviously this shaft isn’t for your game.

This shaft is not for the guy trying to hit his seven iron 210!.

Love these shafts I have them down to to my wedges which come w standard heavy shafts that fut a handful of golfers. There isn’t a tree on the course that is in the way or a green that can’t be held due to the added loft.

Don’t take my word for it try them w Callaway Apex 19 irons on a launch monitor and see the difference with added launch angle and spin. I swing 95 mph got them in regular flex. As light as graphite but plays like steel w less deviation.

I recently built my first custom club set using the True Temper Dynamic Gold regular flex R300 shaft. I installed them on a set of Snake Eyes irons in 5-GW, with a finished length one inch longer than standard and they work great.

Follow the tip trimming recommendations on the True Temper website and cut them to whatever length is right for you, the kick point will stay right on through your set. The only issue is availability.

True Temper makes three versions of the “regular flex” they are R200, R300, and R400; each one progressively heavier in weight, which will change the swing weight when installed. The R300 is the standard weight and unfortunately it’s the ONLY one available at Dicks.

Overall a great purchase, I dont see myself using anything else in steel shafts as long as I play.

I had to replace my 9-iron shaft and put the Elevate 95 in. I didn’t realize how high a ball could actually fly until I hit this. I do not have a problem hitting the ball high so it was too high for my liking.

In fact, it was almost comical. If you want a higher ball flight, this is for you. If not, you’ll want to look at another shaft.

I brought my 7 iron to Golf Galaxy in Richmond, VA and purchased the noted True Temper shaft and a Golf Pride grip. The workmanship was excellent and done in a timely way. I appreciated the effort given by the staff and will keep them in mind should I have need of such a service again.

This is my favorite aftermarket shaft for Senior Flex. I use it on a Tour Edge Exotics EXS 220 driver and it is long and accurate for my now slower swing speed. Gives me more distance and accuracy than regular flex and other senior flex shafts.

Great lightweight shaft producing an excellent club head control. I have an average 90 mph swing speed and find the S flex combination with my Callaway xr16 driver head gives me good fairway control and an extra 10 meters compared to the mp5 R flex shaft.

I like the specs written on the shaft including the frequency CPM.

Real lite shaft and steady. Great ball trajectory off the face. Try it and experience it for yourself. Great shaft!

I tend to subscribe to the view that a heavier putter is better for quicker greens and vice-versa. I bought a wrench and three pairs of different weights to try in my SC Newport 2 Select. All required items were in stock and arrived by regular post in quick time.

The wrench seems to be good-quality and the weights fit perfectly; just the job, for something like one-fifth of the price of those from some suppliers, who had no stock, anyway! I checked the weights accurately and they are matched quite closely in the pairs – just as close to identical as the original pair of (15 g) weights in my putter.

I can recommend highly these items from NordicaGolf!.

I learned my lesson on why not to hit my cart with my lob wedge. For what it cost me to have it re-shafted and regripped at GG, I might as well have just thrown it away and bought a new one.

This is the real shaft and was wrapped very carefully to avoid damage in transit. I was kept informed during the journey from factory to… my golf bag 🙂

I’m nearing 70 and slender in build. I’ve been playing regularly for about 5 years. Play a TM M5 10. 5 and got fitted for the weight positions. The Tiger position worked best for me. One weight center back, one weight fade.

Came with a Fujikura Atmos Orange 50 A-Flex. Kept losing left. Went to a Tensei Red 50 A-Flex which was straighter, but launched too high. The Aldila NVS Orange 55 A-Flex suits me well. Better feel, slight fade ball flight, not too high so I picked up some yards on the run out.

Well recommended.

I replaced my driver and 3 hyb shafts with these I am in love! 3 hyb is a. 370 85g shaft, not the. 335 but still the same make-up. These shafts provide effortless power and excellent distance. I would easily recommend this to anywho who wants to make all driver, wood, or hybrid shaft the same for similar feel.

I liked what I was reading about the C Taper KBS Shaft. I ordered it with my new set of irons. They performed Amazing! I decided on the stiff 120 shaft and was nervous after watching YouTube comments about the shaft.

Like, only 4% of the players with low to medium handicaps should use these shafts. well I must fit into that specific category because I literally was pulling the wrappers off the club head and grip before using the club.

I ordered a KBS Tour 90 S shaft to replace my 8 iron shaft which was bent. The KBS Tour 90 S shaft arrived in a protected box. The shaft had a small white sticker stating it was the shaft I had ordered, but.

the (Red) KBS Tour 90 S identification sticker which all KBS shafts have on them was no where in the box or on the golf club shaft. I’ve contacted Customer Service and am waiting for a reply on how this can be fixed.

My shaft broke and needed it replaced. Couldn’t get the exact match. They replaced with a steel shaft with no description on shaft. I did not get the KBS TOUR 90. So can’t say good or bad.

Broke 8 iron shaft in a fit of anger (yes it happens). Need clubs regripped anyway so had this shaft put in. Closest thing to the stock shaft from Taylormade. Has worked out just fine. Also great service at Katy Golf Galaxy.

C tapers are legit. I wasted my time for years trying other golf shafts. If you swing a club 100+ mph then the c taper is for you.

Bought this shafts , ok did some research and fitted them along with new furrells and grips. Much better launch and distance , very happy with my purchase

I quit golfing for 15 years because of frequent deployments. Started back recently with old clubs and found that I had lost what little abilities that I once had. After a few months of constant practice, decided to make some changes in equipment.

I bought a set of PXG 0211 irons with A-flex shafts and a gen 1 PXG Driver 0811LX with an Evenflow R-flex rated shaft and it was still only barely OK at best after adjustments of the drivers weights and dropping the 12* pitch to 10.

5*. After much research decided to try this shaft before trying another driver. I love the PXG irons but didnt have the same feelings for the driver. As I described it to my son, this shaft turned my PXG driver into a PXG golf rifle.

Almost 60 years old and went from a R-flex to an A-flex shaft after deciding my swing speed isnt going to get any faster over the coming years. As I stated above the driver came with an Evenflow Riptide CB 5.

5-R 50G shaft. I wanted to try this shaft because of this shafts A-flex rating, the weight of the shaft and high torque rating. All I can say is thatit works for me, its giving me hope that I can actually substantially improve my scoring on any course.

I never believed that a shaft could make this great of a difference in my swing, my game and my feelings toward my driver. !! It definitely curbed my affinity to occasionally monster slice, in fact all slices have disappeared.

It seems to hit mid range ball flight consistently as described and as advertised even with taking my driver back to the standard 12*. And added about 10 yards of carry consistently to my drives. I couldnt be happier with a purchase.

This is an incredible shaft for the skilled player at hand. It has great feel and response off the tee. it is a perfect mid-launch flight shaft and with 105 to 110 MPH swing speed you can expect to hit around 250 to 265 yards with center punch shots.

The shafts from adila are very nice and this particular one is a favorite of mine. I also have the shaft in two other clubs a 2 iron, and a 3 wood, and it is just incredible the difference a shaft can make in a golf shot.

I highly suggest trying it out if you ever thought of changing shafts to produce a low moderate ball flight and with a great feel and super performance during the swing impact. Good luck and good golfing to you.

Classic original version of the NV Green, low/mid launch, low spin. I bought the 85g weight for my 5 wood and have been enjoying the stability and tighter shot dispersion. I am a professional club fitter and play to a 1.

Great driver shaft. Added 10 yards to my drives.

As mentioned in other reviews, shafts did not include stickers. Not a big deal for me since it was such a good deal on the 8 piece set. Shaft were stamped with correct info. They were a little heavier than specs mentioned.

Site listed 107g and actual weight was 114-117g. Overall, I am happy with the shafts and would recommend.

I switched out my shafts on a set of Adams A4 forged irons which had a mix of graphite (matrix studio 84) and steel (true temper performance lite) shafts. Put in stiff shafts L wedge through 8 iron, regular shafts in the 7 and 6 irons.

I could not be more pleased with the feel and performance of these shafts. I would say my distances are the same (although the weather has turned cool now) but the feel is consistent throughout the set and my accuracy has improved.

Finally, love the increased height on the ball flight through the set!.

Tried out many different shafts wearing in late from graphite at 65 g to 115 g. The truth ramp or text 3105s fit my swing the best. Between the shafts and lessons I have added 15 yards each club.

This came as the original shaft on my Ping G410 driver. Overall, I hit it pretty well with good distance and accuracy. I probably only swung the club 150 times between the range and course play when it broke.

For what was supposed to be a decent shaft, I was not pleased with the durability.

I bought this a month ago and the tip came apart and the head of my driver came off. The head hit the cart path and scratched the new head of my Maverick Driver. It awas assembled at Golf Galaxy and it was not cheap.

I actually like the shaft but didn’t get to use it very long. I had it put together Dec 20th, I’m just a little disappointed.

I Actually started hitting the ball immediately another 20 yards. I was keeping the ball in the fairway. Along with the club looking great it felt great. I can truly say I have became a better golfer because of this shaft.

This is the best investment of my golfing equipment I have ever made. I am totally in awe of the differance this shaft has made in my game.

Came exactly as ordered and described. Medium to light weight for a hybrid. Usually like something that feels like a war club but this somehow feels heavier while swinging than it does just holding the club at address.

Great flight trajectory and you can hit it higher or lower as needed. The ball seems to just float the entire distance and land softer but it still has a penetrating trajectory. Amazing feel at impact compared to the stock fujikura pro that was in my M1 hybrid.

Just seems like it’s smashing the ball rather than just meeting it. Shaft came with the m1 tip installed and precut to length so that was a huge time and money saver for me. Just installed a grip and bolted the head on.

Played it and hour after I got the shaft in the mail. If you’re wanting a premium shaft upgrade for a hybrid then I highly suggest this over many other brands. Look aroond and you’ll find one for a nice price like I did.

And if you find it get it before someone else does.

This is a very steady golf shaft. Launches easy but hard to overpower it. I am very happy with the quality and the price on this shaft. First time out i shot my 2nd best overall score and best for that particular course.

Not really thanks to the shaft as i only hit it 3 times. I seemed to have gained some distance with swinging easier, but i had a steel shaft in my 3hy previously so that is to be expected. Also looks fantastic.

I bought my first Tour AD DI shaft back in the spring for my driver. For me, this shaft works extremely well. I now have it in all my woods and hybrids.

I struggled with long irons and this cost me a number of shots over a round. This club has allowed me to hit a long iron shot but now it goes straight and long and I can safely say i have dropped a number of shots from my round.

Well balanced and easy to swing I would recommend this club to those who struggle with normal irons.

Not sure how these were going to be with such a low price, but to be fair they are good only tried in garden as courses currently closed but against the net all seems fine.
