20 Best Sewing Machine For Embroidery And Quilting (2023 Updated)

I bought this a few months ago because my embroidery stitch sewing machine kept choking on bulky items. I like making purses and tote bags so I needed a machine that could handle bulky sewing. I did not want to buy a full industrial machine.

I would call this a semi-industrial machine and it does what I need. The machine handled bulky denim and burlap without a whimper. It was very easy to learn to thread and adjust tensions. It would be a great machine for quilters.

I don’t quilt, but I’ll probably start using it to sew garments since I already finish seams with my serger. I can pull out the embroidery machine for button holes and any fancy stitches.

Returned after two days because it just wasn’t for me. I REALLY wanted to love this machine. I am making my first quilt and when it came time to put the two sides together, I realized I was going to need a more reliable machine with a bigger throat space because I am planning on just “tracing” the starburst design for the quilting and want to make sure the back will look nice.

I spent weeks pouring over reviews of machines and decided on this one. While waiting three weeks for the machine to arrive, I started sewing face masks. After sewing 99 masks on my old Singer Scholastic and my daughter’s Janome 11706 (Sewing Pretty with Hello Kitty), the machine arrived and I tried to sew masks 100-105 on this Brother so I could get use to it before tackling putting the quilt together.

The machine is easy to thread and get the tension adjusted. I had no problems with the thread cutter cutting the thread too short like you see in some reviews. It sews a nice pretty stitch and it is fast.

However, after practicing A LOT of straight lines, I just couldn’t find the sweet spot for the speed I wanted to go. I would try to get started and it would go way too slow. If I pressed on the pedal just a tiny bit more it would take off speeding.

I felt like I either had to go slower than I wanted or faster than I wanted. To maintain the right speed took too much tension in my foot, ankle, leg, and back. I can go back and forth between the other two machines in my house without having to adjust my feel for the pedal.

I decided I didn’t want to invest the time it would take to figure this third machine out. Also, I just didn’t like the “feel” of the machine. In order to justify spending that much money on a straight stitch only machine, I had to love the experience I had with it.

I have sewn a lot over the years (dresses, costumes, purses, bags, curtains, pillows, bedding, etc), and I couldn’t see looking forward to using this machine post quilt, so I boxed it up and took it back to the store.

My quilt still sits unfinished while I wait on a backordered machine with a big throat space that does more than straight stitching. Pros- Easy to thread and adjust tension, fast, automatic bobbin, thread cutter, huge throat space, tons of accessories including an extension table.

Cons – Too hard to “hold” the right speed with pedal, no free-arm, poor lighting, louder than I thought it would be, knee lift for the presser foot falls out if you move the wrong way because it doesn’t click in (it just rests inside the opening), uses a different kind of metal bobbin I hadn’t seen before and it only came with 5 or 6 of them, so I’d have to go buy a lot more bobbins.

Third time’s a charm. The PQ1500SL is the third Brother sewing machine that I’ve owned, the first 2 being sewing/quilting machines. I’ve been shopping for a heavier duty machine that’s quiet and doesn’t sound like a huge truck coming down road.

This machine is quiet and steady, producing beautiful stitches. I’ve only had it for 3 days but already feel happy and comfortable with all it has to offer. I’ve spent weeks shopping, reading reviews, and watching videos of this machine so I feel I’ve had it for quite a while.

So I concentrated on the things that kept coming up that seemed to be a bit of an issue with people like the automatic threader and the thread cutter. None of these are deal breakers so I concentrated on those items of concern for the past few days.

I have to say that the threader can be tricky at first but it didn’t take me long to get used to it. It isn’t quite as easy as my SQ9285 though. The thread cutter does cut the thread a little short but leaves at least 2 1/2″ of the upper thread sticking out.

I found if you pull your fabric out slowly after cutting, the thread doesn’t spring back under the presser foot. I waste so much thread on my other machine that doesn’t have this feature. Loading the bobbin is pretty quick and easy.

just follow the instructions and you won’t have a problem. Winding a new bobbin is fast and easy. The other feature I particularly like is the knee lift. It makes changing direction so easy. The extended table is a solid feature that I love.

I haven’t tried all the presser feet that come with it but will get to use those as time goes by. This machine sews like a beast but is a beauty to look at with clean features. I can finally stop shopping and get down to sewing again.

I love this machine. While I have been sewing a long time I prefer to do simple quick projects. I did not want to invest a major amount of money but I wanted versatility. This machine is quiet to sew with, has the threader, wide variety of stitches, and drop in bobbin that I was wanting in my purchase.

The bobbin winder is easy to use as well. The machine is light weight, making it easier to take with me if I want to sew for my grandkids (and take it when I visit). I haven’t had it too long, but with the care that I give to any machine, I expect to have it for a long time.

While a beginner sewist may be a little overwhelmed by the number of functions, the directions make it easy for anyone wanting to learn to sew to pick up on its uses.

I was skepticle of trying a computerized sewing machine having always used heavy manual machines. However, I LOVE this machine! It is so easy to use! I love all the stitch options being right on it, and it is so easy to input the stitch type and size.

I’ve used the monogramming a lot as well as the decorative stitches with ease. I also am surprised to like the push button sewing option, and find myself using it as often/more than the foot pedal. It is so lightweight yet stays in place during use.

I got a generic universal sewing machine carrying case for it, which fits all the parts plus machine easily. I absolutely love the self-threading! The thread and bobbin also all load very easily. I could go on, but after 2yrs of use, I know that this machine was the right choice.

My only issue is that it sometimes gets caught up over layered seems, but this may be resolved with simple needle size change.

This machine offers many useful features. I own and use six different machines, each having a specific purpose in the sewing room. The HC 1850 does it all except for heavy weight fabrics. The machine will actually sew a few layers of denim.

But prefer to use my Singer 4452 for the heavy fabric. Save the HC1850 for the lighter weight fabric and enormous options of stitching.

I think this machine can be fantastic and I think you can do great things with it. Obviously you have to learn how to use it. However my machine since day one has had an issue with its needle. It’s never aligned properly for self threading.

The needle falls out during sewing. And as well the needle has broken three different times while sewing. And yet there are times this machine works beautifully so I am very confused and not sure what’s happening here so I’m contacting brother by email and hoping to get some response.

Yes I’ve done troubleshooting and watched tons and tons of YouTube‘s but this machine has an issue with it’s needle area. I expect that once I get help and hope that I do – I will be completely satisfied with this machine.

Brothers use MORE plastic than almost all the other machines combined, and skimp on quality. The price is the only reason you can purchase an embroidery machine, and someone who makes printers, and ink and toner, and has horrid CS i wouldn’t NOTY buy from! If you cannot afford a bernina, janome, or another quality SEWING name, then you are a beginner, and that is WHY these things exist.

When you receive it, you will know WHY they target, TARGET beginners. AND you do not WANT a sewing AND embroidery machine. Watch some you tube vids. And, here is the best part, when you see reviews of machines, and you see a $2500 Bernina in the SAME list with a $800 brothers, lol, but no JUKI or Baby lock? lol.

This machine can do great things but seems to need adjustments. It is very sensitive. The automatic threading needs a lot of adjustments and my embroidery mechanism has some issues no matter what if I use the correct bobbin thread.

It comes through the top threading on the project. I do better using regular colored thread as bobbin thread. There is a lot to learn about this machine. It has a small embroidery area so you should get familiar with stuff you can do in the computer to make bigger more interesting embroidery.

I have been helped by calling their technicians.

So I read the reviews on cs6000i. Actually the reviews are why I bought this machine. The machine is broken. I heard about how great their policy on fixing and such. So I call Brother. The hand wheel seized up and there is oil in the bottom of it.

Now I am told that I can take it to a sewing center to be fixed. I might add that is 30 minutes away so they can fix it. I may or may not have to pay for it. It may or may not be covered under warranty.

Soi have to say I won’t purchase again based on customer service. The machine has only been in use for 2 months. This makes me sad at the least.

This is my first Brother sewing machine. I currently own a Kenmore, a White and a singer. Must say by far this is the best. It’s very user friendly, whether you’re a beginner or advance seamstress. Love this sewing machine.

Love the fact that I can adjust the speed so that I can teach my 5 year old to sew without the machine going at rapid speed. Love the fact that it rides over heavy fabric with ease. My singer was a pain trying to sew over thick fabric like denim or at the joining of gathered fabric.

Just love this brother. I’m thinking of replacing my singer serger for the Brother. Can’t understand why I wasted so many years using a singer when I could’ve been using a Brother. Bought my first singer 13 years ago because growing up my mom had one and that’s how I’d learnt to sew.

What a difference to switch to a Brother. A must own.

I was beginning to think I would never get the hang of sewing, but it turns out I was using an inferior machine! Since receiving this Brother CPX100X my projects have been coming out so much better. My husband is actually much better at sewing than I am and I usually leave big projects to him, but I really think I am ready to tackle a quilt with this machine! It’s been my goal for years to get comfortable enough to make a quilt, and with the larger work space, and 10 different feet, and 100 stitches, I really think this is the perfect machine to help me reach that goal.

As I said, my husband is much more experienced than I am sewing, and he absolutely loves it. He is able to whip out masks in no time, with half the frustration of our old sewing machine. I have even been able to make a couple with no issues! The needle threader is literally one step and works every time.

Neither of us have noticed any tension issues, and the stitches look beautiful every time. I have had so much fun playing with all of the different stitches and it has been great practice. I had no idea there were so many different feet like buttonhole, zipper, monogramming, overcasting, blind hole, etc.

I have so much to learn and am actually excited about it now instead of overwhelmed and frustrated with my old sewing machine. I love that it comes with a protective case as well. I really feel like the sky is the limit now that I have something reliable to create with!.

The sewing machine is Lightweight and basically easy to use. However if you are not careful, when you thread the bobbin, you end up winding the thread underneath the bobbin holder and the only way to unwind it is by hand.

I guess I have to be more careful. Also there isn’t much room around the needle for fatter hands to thread it with ease. I do however like the automatic needle threader. I also figured out when replacing a broken needle, because there is not much space that it is REALLY easy to drop a needle into the space underneath and you can’t just tighten it the replacement needle by hand, it has to be tightened with the screwdriver.

I like the variable speed.

Have had quite a few mechanical sewing machines over the years so am pretty familiar with basic features. Am very pleased with this electronic machine, my first Brother, model CP100X, made in Vietnam.

I sort of bought it on a whim while shopping at JoAnn Fabrics; saw it was on sale and liked the look of it—-stitching diagram on front was clear and easy to see, not tiny. I was looking for more decorative stitches than my everyday machine has.

When I got it home I was very surprised that it also included a quilting foot!!! Yay! Plus, the fact that it came with an extension bed, a carrying cover, plenty of accessories, optional power foot pedal, auto needle threader, great lighting, and feed dog lever really pleased me.

The machine sews very quietly and the stitches are smooth and even. Nice stitch width and length variation capability, too. I’m totally charmed by my new machine. Wish the LCD display was backlit, though.

Another reviewer did not like the instruction booklet. I kind of agree; It could be edited better, design-wise, but at least I was able to follow it and the videos. I liked the music in the videos; it seems to help with the lessons.

So handy to have various printed threading diagrams right on the machine — great feature.

Another AMAZING purchase from Swing Design. I honestly had not clue they had this machine. I was looking for it all over the internet. It is such a great machine. I have had Baby Lock, Brother, Pfaff and a Bernina.

to me this is very similar to the Bernina I regretted selling. I am so happy with this machine and so happy Swing Design had it for sell since they have great customer service and super fast shipping.

I hope they get the Bernette B42!.

Absolutely fantastic embroidery machine. I love this machine. Beautiful embroidery designs to edit and explore, so easy and so many great tutorials. I love that the tutorials are so easy to watch and understand.

Looks like a basic machine, but the features are all here. Its simple to use but the quality is unmistakably Bernina. It didnt come with a manual or a foot and bobbin case. I downloaded the manual and printed it out, then used page protectors and put it all in a binder.

For me its a necessity in the beginning as Im learning a new machine. The stitch quality is beautiful, feeds smoothly especially with the auto feed foot. built in! Do I recommend it? Definitely!.

This is the first machine that has a needle threader I can actually figure out! Makes changing threads super easy. It also cuts the thread and lifts the foot with a one touch button. A real time saver.

I love this machine so much, I cant wait to get to it every day. Even the grandkids are impressed.

Oh my goodness! This sewing machine is amazing! The set-up, threading a bobbin, and threading this sewing machine was very easy. No complex steps to follow, and the manual is very easy to read and understand.

This machine creates beautiful stitches and razor sharp seams. There were no skipped stitches! No bunching, either! I also took advantage of Singer. com’s video tutorial resources. Singer also has a YouTube channel, which has a plethora of additional videos demonstrating what this sewing machine can do.

This baby is sturdy, and I love the design. There is plenty of workspace to sew a garment. The automatic threader is an absolute God-send! Thank you, Singer! I love using the “function buttons” (start/stop, reverse stitching, needle up-down, and speed control.

I’m going to love my new Singer sewing machine I’m sure. I’ve used it a couple of times for a quick fix to an already existing garment and have been pleased with its performance. Presently, I’m working to identify all of the attachments that have come with my new machine.

My only complaint is that all of the attachments came in one large bag. I’ve spent several hours already looking at the manual attempting to match each attachment with the picture in the manual. While I’ve gotten several matched up with its picture I’ve spent countless hours online on your website looking at the different presser foot pictures and classes.

I have to agree that it has been helpful to watch each demonstration but I simply do not have the time to spend online going over what each attachment is or how it works. All of this would have been simplified if the attachments would have come in separate bags with their name identify what the attachment was.

I am a novice seamstress. I haven’t sewn since high school. Singer has grown by leaps and bounds since I have sewn! I do have the desire to begin my new era with my new Singer. I plan to teach myself how to quilt and hopefully make a few new garments that I can proudly wear.

As stated, I’m almost a brand new seamstress. A little effort on Singer’s part by sending the attachment along with their identifying name would have been helpful to me and extremely helpful to someone just beginning with sewing.

Pease know that I am most pleased with my new machine and plan a long and happy experience with it. I began my sewing experience when I was a very young girl by using my grandmother’s Singer unbeknownst to her.

This is my second Singer in my lifetime. I have high hope for it and what I plan on doing with it. Please don’t take my complaint lightly, it would be helpful to have identifying names on all of the attachments.

I purchased this machine about a month ago. I was upgrading and looking for a machine with built in font capability and more decorative stitches, which, for the most part, this machine has compared to a simpler machine.

The bonus accessories included are great and have already been put to good use, especially the walking foot which is a very useful addition. The machine has worked well and any problems I’ve encountered, for the most part, have been the result of the learning curve/human error.

The features I had expected this model to have but am most disappointed in are the inability to increase or decrease the size of the available fonts and decorative stitches ( I did spend a lot of time researching various machines and do not recall ever reading the font size for the Quantum Stylist is fixed or I would have passed on this model.

In addition I’ve found it difficult to remove the extra stitches between the lettering without the end/ beginning of the some letters wanting to work loose as they are not all double stitched at the begining or end of some of the lettering or decorative stitches, I’ve even resorted to adding the auto tack stitch option between letters/ stitches and it either doesn’t work or doesn’t place it where needed.

The other disappointment are the 600 so called stitches, again I had expected there to be more varieties of stitches, however, instead the same stich is counted more than once if it can be altered in width, length, mirrored or rotated, so if 1 stitch design can be mirrored as well as rotated 360° it is counted as 5 different stitches, if a stich can be lengthened x number of times and the width increased or decreased, each is counted as a “different ” stitch, so in fact there are well under 600 “different” stitches.

Overall a good working machine for the money, however, if you are wanting to use fonts/decorative stitches on a variety of projects you might be disappointed as the font size provided is rather small and will get lost on larger projects or patterned fabrics.

In short my upgrade has turn out to be just a revision to what I already have and if able to do it over again I would spend even more time on research so I end up with the features I had expected this model to have.

This machine worked perfectly, right out of the box. The very first thing I did was an oval buttonhole. The machine actually straight stitches one time first, to give the button hole a “corded” look.

All the accessories were included–which I wasn’t expecting that because the machine was refurbished. I’m delighted with my purchase. I’ve used Janome machines for several years and they are excellent quality.

I have been using my Janome Memory Craft 6500 since I received it in late November. Shipping was quick and the machine arrived in great condition. The machine runs well and is very solid. There are two features that are somewhat annoying, one being the threading of the machine at indicator #6 as the take-up lever does not come up above the casing so I have to maneuver the thread inside the casing and then into it’s eye.

I believe this may be a flaw in my machine. The second feature that kinda bothers me is the lack of a long arm for working on small pieces such as sleeves and coin purses. So I will have to use my old machine for that kind of work.

I have not used the decorative stitches but love that I can if I want. I love the needle up/down button and use it constantly. I thought that I would like the cut thread button but have found that it’s a pain to bring the threads back up after each cut so I find that I use the thread cutter on the side of the casing as a quick cut option.

I probably could have found a cheaper machine for my needs which is quilt piecing and craft making, but that is not Sewing Machine Plus’ fault. I did not call their Customer Service Line and discuss my purchase prior to buying online.

When reading several reviews I now see that this would have been a good idea as the Customer Service Team are experts at helping to find a machine that fits the consumer. Overall I am very happy with my purchase and look forward to many years of enjoyment.

I did purchase the extended warranty option for extra security of my investment.

This was an amazing good price for a truly awesome machine. Used but cannot tell! Works like a dream. So many available stitch patterns to use and they work great! So many feet came with it. The top of the machine has a reversable picture menu board of all of the stitches enabeling me to just look at that to choose my decorative stitches without refering to a book.

Just choose the stitch by number and enter into the machine and sew it. Amazing! Able to free motion quilt also! The machine works very well. I had heard this machine was wonderful and it is true! I am truly very satisfied with this.

I have a seperate embroidery machine so this one is for quilting and sewing. ! I recommend this machine to anyone who is looking for a high end machine that is a great value and it is true quality! You will be very satisfied with the simplicity of use and the great choices of stitches available.

I upgraded in December right before it sold out. I wanted the TL2000qi, but that sold out first before this one did. I am glad I made this purchase, especially for the adjustable speed lever!!!! For making small handmade bags and other assorted things, its wonderful! I upgraded from my Singer Heavy Duty that I bought in March 2021 for my business this is also after upgrading from my basic Brother machine that I had for YEARS to the Singer, and now my beautiful Juki.

I needed that extra speed. I am 30, I’ve been sewing from the early ages of 7, got back into sewing in 2014 for my animals; now a business owner of two years. Ladies and gents, if you want SPEED, you need this machine.

I did my first straight line “quilting”, and I was shocked as the speed. From going from domestic machines to a semi-industrial, it was a piece of cake to thread the machine! It also helped doing prior research on the machine and having been able to download the owner’s manual to learn more about it helped a lot as well.

If I was going to upgrade to a better machine for what I do for my business, this one is definitely the icing on the cake for me (in a good way!!) Buy thing machine!.

This sewing machine is wonderful. It has strength and control, which is so necessary especially as I work on curved piecing for quilts. The only glitch is that I was not able to use the automatic threading function.

I read the instruction book, went to view several YouTube demonstrations, and still was not able to get it to self-thread. BUT once I did thread it manually, it was SO worth the investment.

This is a fully loaded, but not over engineered, sewing machine. A lot of thought went into the features that make home sewing easier and more successful. The features such as thread cutting (available 2 different ways), the accurate threading, thoughtfully grouped stitches, and easy to navigate touch screen make this an easy to learn and use machine.

The punch power, almost industrial, is a plus for people who want to sew with heavier materials, such as vinyl or upholstery fabric. The HZL-F600 comes with lots of accessories that are not often bundled with a sewing machine at this price point.

The even feed walking foot, large sewing table, and some of the extra feet make this a great value. The hard carrying case is good protection while toting to classes or retreats. Also, the relatively light weight, 21 lbs, is an easily portable size.

Everything about this machine is solid and reliable. Only one suggestion, if it were bundled with the straight stitch sewing plate, it would be even better. I love my Juki!.

I had only sewed on sewing machine a few times and machine bobbin thread would get caught up. Also the cutter would keep cutting. I had to call and speak with the owner where I purchased and he told me sewing machine need to be reset.

Sewing Machine keep jaming up then the same problem happened and I had to reset again. It kept doing this and come to find out bobbin case had a hole in it. I assumed it moved and sewing needle punctured it.

I then had to replace the bobbin case which costs $70. I told owner I have never had these type of issues with any sewing machine I’ve ever owned this is the first. I feel sewing machine has a defect with the bobbin case.

Once I replaced bobbin case and installed it correctly It made a clicking noise still. I called sewing machine store and spoke with the sewing machine technician and he told me to feel for a bump along the edge of bobbin case and I had to smooth out tge bump with an Emory board.

It then started sewing without loud clicking noise but it still has a clicking sound. I bout this sewing machine after sewing a YouTube quilter give a tutorial on what a great sewing machine it is. And I was sold and had to have one.

But for me it has only been a pain in the backside.

I’ve had a Kenmore machine for 39 years and have never had a problem with it. My best friend and I have gotten into quilting over the past few years, and she decided to “upgrade” her Singer to a Bernina.

She got top of the line – and top of the price range!! I could not imagine spending that much on a machine, My hubby said he wanted me to get a new machine for Christmas, and after some thought, I thought I’d take him up on it.

I am a purchase researcher, and will check out every review and comment before I buy a big item. After searching, the Juki HZL-600 Exceed Series was my choice. It does everything the Bernina does at a third of the price.

Now, it does not have a USB port, which my friend has, but I’m not needing that for embroidery. This machine is doing my quilting and fancy stitches that can go with quilting just fine! I love the sturdiness of the machine, and how quiet it is when sewing.

It did take time to get used to, but I have not found one thing that I couldn’t figure out, test out, or try. Very nice manual to help you out, 225 different stitches and a memory to save stitches used in the project until you delete them.

Overall, a GREAT machine that will last forever and at 40% off, it was a steal!!! Highly recommend this machine for sewing and quilting enthusiasts! ;).

I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product. So let me start by saying I have never used a sewing machine or embroidery machine ever – my wife has, but I never have.

This machine is a bit overwhelming when you first get everything all setup (for embroidery anyway) – so my wife asked me if I would figure it out. So I attempted with some guidance from my wife to figure out this machine.

I was surprised with how easy it was once I got into it. So what we wanted to do was design a embroidery file and then make it work. So I will say it does take some steps to make it work (with a manual design) but it is not hard at all.

The embroidery files that are included on the CD are nice as well as the designs that are available on the machine directly. There is no design software that comes with the machine – so if you need to do your own designs you’ll need other things.

Once I got the files created – PES files for Brothers – you load them on a USB drive, get the fabric in the ring, get some embroidery trend and off you go. Pros: – I really like how they have a “map” to how to trend a new line – it is very easy to do – USB support – its nice that you can add your own designs via USB – when you format your USB drive make sure the format is FAT/FAT32 – NTFS will not work.

– Embroidery – is great. – It tells you how many minutes each step takes – It tells you when to switch trend and will even cut the thread for you – Menus are pretty easy to navigate Cons: – Does not include design software The only thing I wish it did was instead of telling me how long each step takes (which is nice but does not count down or tell you where you are at in time) – tell me how many stitches are in each step.

This is because the SE625 does tell me which stitch is on – so if I knew how many stitches were left ahead, I would know where I am.

I bought the machine primarily for the embroidery to create labels for quilts. It’s easy to create a simple label, but it’s difficult to edit the text once it’s all selected and I often run of characters per line.

The hoop is kind of deceptive because the actual opening is 5 wide X 6. 5 tall. It would be great if you could rotate the design to get just a little more space. I wish I understood how much I could actually type before I purchased this machine.

I got the bells and whistles that I paid for – pay a little more – get better features. I’ve discovered a big annoyance on the lower case “i” – the dot doesn’t space enough away from the line to be separate.

Back to what you pay for. Great starter machine for embroidery!.

I received this product from Brother for free in exchange for an honest opinion/review of the product. I have never used a sewing machine before, but was interested in learning and especially personalizing some of my apparel with embroidered initials.

The learning curve for this machine is steep. I forged ahead anyway after reading the manuals. I figured out how to get things up and running and practiced simple sewing. I got the hang of it and decided to try hemming the bottom of some jeans.

That’s where I ran into problems but not because of my skillset, it was because the needles were too flimsy for denim. I wasn’t sewing through rigid denim either, it was stretch denim. The needles bent and I couldn’t figure out why.

Anyway, that was a disappointment so I decided to figure out how to do embroidery. I did successfully embroider a flat piece of cloth, but I don’t feel comfortable personalizing a shirt or anything else just yet because I fear of it coming out crooked, so I have to practice a bit more.

I think anyone how has experience with sewing machines would do better with this machine because they would not what to do/not to do and the computerized part would be the only thing they’d need to learn.

It is a very impressive machine though from my experience with it. I’d just recommend for experienced sewers/crafters.

I was brand new to sewing and used the Hobbycraft Midi Machine for a couple of months making face masks, bunting, and dog bandanas. I wanted something with a little more power and was looking at the Singer Promise, and the Singer 3223.

I decided I didn’t need the extra stitches offered by the 3223 so settled on the Promise. This machine is fantastic. It is so simple to set up, use, and re-thread, and it is noticeably more powerful than the Midi.

I have been able to make a bag and cushion cover with this machine, and it powered through multiple layers of fabric with no issue. It offers touch sensitive speeds through the pedals, and has an inbuilt light.

I don’t find it particularly noisy, and whilst heavier than the Midi, it’s light enough to carry around. I’m so pleased with this machine and the staff at Exeter store were fantastic in helping me choose and continue to be fantastic whenever I visit the store.

I would highly recommend this machine for beginners or professionals alike.

This 4411 model has been amazing and I haven’t yet used all the settings. The machine isn’t heavy, but has enough weight that it doesn’t move when in use, making it really stable. It’s super easy to set up, but I relied on a playlist I found for this model on youtube to help (sewingmastery).

Without it, I wouldn’t have figured out certain things that have made a huge difference. (No connection or affiliation with them, I’m just grateful for those videos!) It’s easy to quickly switch thread colors and settings, super easy to thread the bobbins, and it’s fast.

So far I’ve been sewing cotton and multiple layers of canvas-like materials with zero issues. I like that I can see the bobbin and know how much thread is left during projects. I also like the compartment for accessories it comes with.

I’m not a sewing pro, but coming from a beginner/student sewing machine, to this one has been a huge, happy leap. I’m so happy with the decision to purchase this machine, it has tremendous value for the price!.

I bought this machine recently after looking up reviews online for a small affordable sewing machine for beginners and this one came up top. We all know the brand Singer does not disappoint and I am so pleased with my purchase.

I was intimidated at first as I grew up sewing everything by hand but if you can read a manual, then operating this machine could not be any easier. I also went on youtube to find a Singer 4411 video about threading as I am a visual learner and I was scared of breaking the brand new machine – it made so much sense and I was able to test my first stitches within an hour of setting up the machine.

I immediately used it to mend my “ao dai” with broken sleeves and now I am all ready to celebrate lunar new year in my ao dai thanks to this machine. I can see myself using it to re-purpose old clothes into trivets, pillows and other nifty things around the house.

Highly recommend!!!.

I bought this machine to take to classes. I have a Dream Machine 2. It’s much heavier than this machine. I have nick-named this machine LITTLE BROTHER. The only complaint is that I had to wait 3 months to take delivery on it.

Definitely worth the money we paid for it. My wife loves it. Only draw back is how few Disney designs come preloaded in the machine. It sews incredibly well.

12/15 to2/17 ran good since then 2017 four trips to shop 2018 four (including presently in shop) This machine has been in the shop more then it has been it has been in use. Moore’s sewing is very apologetic but Brother is keeping their distance.

I wouldn’t buy another Brother product if they payed me.

Wow, what a fantastic brother sewing and embroidery machine! This is my 2nd brother sewing and embroidery machine. I also own the brother se1900 which I use only for embroidery and I needed a separate machine for embroidery backup and for sewing.

I am definitely impressed by this brother se630. It has many of the features that my big se1900 have. Although the embroidery size is only 4”x4” it is fantastic and embroidered just as beautiful as my $1000 se1900.

The regular sewing is also absolutely fantastic and it even has overcasting! My janome serger (overcasting machine) may be used less now. My sewing looks so much better on this se630. I’m retiring my small brother lx3817a and purchased this new se630 in hopes of having more professional looking sewing and it sure does.

I thought I lacked some major sewing skills because I didn’t see very good results with my very basic sewing machine so after much research and recommended 300$ sewing machines, I came across this brother se630 on Walmart for a fantastic price and went ahead with my purchase.

I couldn’t be happier with this purchase. It is a slightly smaller version of my brother se1900 and my sewing looks fantastic and professional. The machine runs so smoothly and quiet and the led work light is super bright.

The advanced needle threader is amazing. The embroidery is beautiful and super easy to use. There IS a usb thumb drive reader that you can put PES embroidery files of your choice on it and they will show in the machines embroidery screen under the thumb drive.

The machine is also pre loaded with some beautiful embroidery designs as well. The on screen settings are intuitive and super easy to navigate as well as understand, and ALL accessories listed including the embroidery foot (Qfoot) are included! Fantastic machine at a fantastic price directly from Walmart, thank you Walmart.

I picked up sewing as a hobby during corona when I was stuck at home most days. I Still consider myself an amateur sewer, but I wanted a machine with more capabilities then my previous one so that it will keep me busy and learning for a while.

All my sewing friends in my Facebook groups recommended a brother machine, due to its amazing craftsmanship and machine quality. I liked this one because it has an embroidery feature in addition to all the normal sewing features.

I am a mom of 2 little girls, and love having their names embroidered on their clothing and accessories so I thought this would be the perfect machine for me. I love how easy it is to use. The LCD screen makes it easy to perfect the embroidery, and the embroidery comes out exactly as the screen shows.

The sewing caps ability of this machine is also unmatched. In My previous machine, I would need to rethread the needle quite often, but this machine I never had to. This machine sees flawlessly without any missing stitches or any flaws.

I definitely see an improvement in my work since I started using machine, and I know that there is so much kids for me to learn and explore with this machine! Also another plus of this machine is that it is quieter than most machines.

I can sew even when the kids are sleeping in the room next door, and don’t need to be worried about making too much noise or waking them up. I definitely recommend this machine to both beginners and advanced sewers, and can’t wait to discover more of that this machine is capable of.

The brother se630 is a top notch machine that enables beginners and experts to sew and do embroidery. The machine has all the accessories you need. I made sure to count them all and make sure they all were included in the box because it really had that many accessories.

Everything was packaged very well and everything was labeled properly. If you don’t know anything about sewing and you find it difficult to thread a machine the brother machine makes it extremely easy to thread.

You literally just have to follow the numbers and it will thread easily. What I really appreciate as someone who sews is how I didn’t have to thread the needle by hand. That’s always been something that drove me nuts and this brother machine literally threads my needs… it’s amazing! The stitches came out perfect and I am so happy with the sewing aspect of the machine.

As for the touch screen monitor I did have a hard time playing with it. It wouldn’t do anything and it was quite frustrating. I had to YouTube some videos in order to figure it out. Overall the sewing aspect is great and the embroidery part is going to have to take me some time to get used to and play with but I’m so happy with this machine.

It’s an all in one machine I could ask for!.

I was new to using embroidery machines when I purchased this machine. Loved the Disney patterns on this machine. But after using it a few months I decided I needed the PE800 for a bigger hoop size (waiting for delivery tomorrow and hope that I love it as much as my PE 550D).

I will still use this machine for the smaller designs. So yes, I will now have two brother embroidery machines and a Brother Project Runway sewing machine. LOVE them all!.

This is a handy little machine that does its job well. Great for those small designs but if you want more than a 4×4 result then you need to look elsewhere. I used this for a couple weeks and realized I should have purchased a machine with a larger stitching area.

I will keep this one for the Disney designs and look for another machine with a bigger stitching area. But for the lw cost, this little machine gets the job done.

This is a great machine for someone dipping their toes in embroidery. Everyone was telling me I needed a much more expensive machine, but this machine is wonderful. It does have its limitations, but I dont think Ill ever need another embroidery machine.

Very easy to use and if I have a question I can go online and find a video that answers my question. The only limitations I can see are the Disney designs cant be sized, but Im sure I could buy designs that can be sized.

You are limited to a 4×4 design, but I dont have a problem with that. Unless you want to make money with your machine, this one is great.

This machine was a total waste of money. For a machine of $7000. 00, the machine should not have any flaws. The machine came with a walking foot but there is no place to attach a quilters guide. If you want a quilters guide, you will have to buy another walking foot along with a quilters guide.

The draw has slots for feet but there is one empty slot. The machine intentionally came with this empty slot. There is an 11″ ruler on the side when there was room for the manufacturer to put a 12″ ruler on the front side.

There are round head screws on the metal plate rather than flat head and this could interfere with some tools. The rear drawer opens when you lay your hands on the material as it passes along the metal plate.

There is no marking on three of the feet but the other feet have letters on them and this makes for easy reference when using the instructional manual. The needle needs constant re threading. Much cheaper machines do not have these problems.

I previously had an Innovis-4000D and an Innovis-2500D, which I loved. They were acquired around 2005. Nothing stitched freestanding lace more cleanly than the 2500D. However, both machines died — electronics failures — and we decided that since it would be expensive to fix, it would be better to acquire a new machine.

I have not yet used all of the advanced features of the VM6200D yet, but I love how it stitches so well. I love that I can do quick sewing without having to remove the embroidery unit. In sewing mode, it seems to hold (grab) the fabric better than my previous machines.

It stitches freestanding lace very well so far. It’s also quieter than my previous machines. So, no complaints from me. I look forward to stitching out many, many projects for this Christmas season, and beyond.

Never thought I would spend this much on a sewing machine but it is lovely. I may never figure out all the bells and whistles as the classes that came with it do not go into technical stuff and unfortunately I am not very tecky so the learning is very slow kinda trial and error and I learn better by seeing it done.

I do have one complaint and that is it runs out of bobbin thread so quickly because when it winds it the bobbin only fills about 2/3 of the way. For all the common things it is very user friendly but having never embroidered before I am having trouble with even getting the unit on the machine I have to lift and twist while putting it on and this was shown to me by the dealer so that is not to handy as I have a bad shoulder and that is hard to do.

Also with multiple stabilizers out there and having to use 2 or 3 different ones on each project there is no way I will ever understand which goes for what so more info on that would be helpful. But all in all I love the features like self threading and the lights are amazing.

I am sure I will have this machine for a very long time and look forward to learning more about the machines capabilities and the eventually check into the quilt table that is available for it as I love quilting, but first must learn the machine.

The Brother CP80X 80-Stitch Computerized Sewing Machine is excellent for beginners. I have been sewing since I was 15, but not consistently, and I’ve ALWAYS hated threading through the machine in like 16 steps! The Brother CP80X makes it MUCH easier.

In fact, I have more motivation to start and finish new and old projects because it’s so easy to use! The handy stitch reference on the front panel is a timesaver if I ever saw one. I lose everything so this is awesome for me.

There is a large work area, so this machine is a godsend for quilters! I have yet to start my quilting adventures, but am looking forward to it now. The included Quilt Design Software Bundle makes quilting easy for us newbies! The accessories pouch is a nice addition and super helpful to have around.

It includes pretty much everything you would need to sew, hem, repair, create, etc. Overall, this is seriously a great seeing machine for beginners to advanced sewers/quilters. So easy to use, so well made and durable, and really helps to improve your sewing skills,.

It comes with so much stuff and there are video tutorials for pretty much everything that has to do with the machine. The computerized part is nice, it looks confusing at first but once I started playing with it I understood it fairly quickly.

The bottom bobbin is so shockingly easy to change, I think that was the most mesmerizing part for me, I’ve never had a machine that made it so easy to change that one. The many many different stitches are great for any project and I’m amazed by how many different stitches there even is.

I had no idea there was so many different ones to pick from. Fabric feeds through it smoothly, it doesn’t catch or anything like that. It’s overall just a great sewing machine to start anyone out, between all the extras it comes with and all the tutorials anyone can be sewing in no time.

I have been using an older model sewing machine and this Brother CP80X is certainly an upgrade to my old sewing machine. It was so easy to set up and I was sewing in no time! This machine has so many great features including an easy needle threading system, 80 built-in stitches, eight auto-sizes buttonholes, easy to read LCD display screen, a quick-set drop-in top bobbin, and so much more! I love that it also comes with a pouch that has additional accessories too.

I love that I can be really creative in designing my quilts with the quilt design software that comes with this machine. This Brother sewing machine is easy enough for a beginner and it is ideal for an advanced seamstress.
