20 Best Self Tan For Face (2023 Updated)

The smell of these drops is much more manageable and light than with other self tanners. There are literally no self tanners that don’t have the smell from DHA – just part of the deal. I use a disgusting amount of self tanner on a regular basis so I purchased drops so they’d be more economical (plus, using with a good smelling lotion will help with the smell!).

But I have to use so many drops to get the color I want! So the bottle is getting depleted really quickly. I’m religous about self tanners – exfoliating/shaving prior, moisturizing, not using drying soaps.

This stuff just sloughs off my skin. Maybe your skin can only absorb so much? The color is a bit orangey but doesn’t seem weird with my skin tone. I can see how those with fairer complexions would have issues.

I’ve never had a streaky application because I mix my lotion and drops in a container and then apply it (per body part) with gloves. It does end up being time consuming. Overall, I don’t think I’ll purchase this again.

I was nervous to try this stuff out and worried that it would make my face super dark and splotchy. But if you use cotton pad and apply a thin layer all over your face, neck, and chest, it comes out beautifully.

I usually apply it in the evenings and let it dry, then apply my other creams/serums. Once I wake in the morning, I have a nice glow! My only somewhat complaint about it, is that after a couple of days of it staying on my face, I’ve noticed it gives off a weird scent.

It’s not the worst tan smell, but it’s not the best either. Overall I will continue using whenever I need a quick, good-looking glow!.

I was an avid user of this product after a friend recommended it 2+ years ago. The bottle lasted a long while, looked fantastic & left my skin looking both tan + refreshed! HOWEVER, I recently purchased this product again & notice the coloring of the water was different – so to make sure I looked into it and saw something along the lines of “Same Product, just new coloring”.

FALSE! I’ve tried on 3 separate occasions now using the “new color” formula & have been left with an immense amount of blackheads every time + within only a matter of 1-2 days. Idk what happened – but for me, this was the total opposite of “non-comedogenic”.

Tan luxe broke me out like crazy, didn’t last, and I didn’t love the color. It’s greasy and it’s overrated. I purchased this around the same time. the application is amazing! Especially for lazy girls lol.

No greasy gross hands just wipe and done. Comes out perfect even. I let the color develop for 12 hours and I looked definitely orange and got scared (but looked fine the majority of the day) but when I washed it off, OMG.

like I got a real tan. It even dries my skin out (in a good way) the way the sun does. It literally feels and looks like a real tan. Looks so natural and lasts a decent amount. No breakouts whatsoever and it actually cleared my skin up.

Dare I say HG??? Lol. Now that I see that self tanning is this easy and isn’t a greasy annoying ordeal, I’m gonna use these all the time. I don’t need any makeup! And I look so much healthier and prettier!.

I absolutely love these and now have them on repeat order. I am a fake tan devotee and have tried so many. I always find facial fake tans are really drying and can be streaky. These are a game changer.

They do what they say, leave a glow to the skin with a nice hint of tan. This take foundation over the top really well and then a slight touch of bronzer for a really healthy look. I am naturally pale and have uneven skin tone and these have been great.

I have read reviews that they smell, they do when first removed from the packet, but they don’t leave a lasting smell on the skin unlike some other tanning products. I have a slight reservation about the amount of packaging due to them being individually wrapped but overall, I wouldn’t be without them.

I don’t use every day, maybe every 2-3 days. My favourite discovery of the year so far!.

These are great, they work, no nasty ingredients, good for my sensitive, acne prone skin. BUT – there’s a huge caveat. I cannot use these every day, or really any more than once a week, because they have a strong AHA content.

I’m already using Mandelic Acid, Salicylic acid, retinol, and benzoyl peroxide to control my adult acne. When I tried to use these every day last week to get my desired tan shade, which I did, I seriously overstripped my skin and caused pretty bad sensitization and breakouts.

I’ll keep using these sparingly in the future, but keep in mind that one pad isn’t going to make you bronze, so I feel kind of in a catch-22 there.

I kinda hate this. I love love love the face and body drops. I decided to try this out during a BOGO 40% sale, instead of the drops. Big mistake. The consistency is like runny pudding, there is no “glow” once applied and the most important part – there’s absolutely no color after the end of the day.

I used this consistently under my makeup, for a week – no color has developed. If this is a self tanner, it fails miserably. The face and body drops work much better – and you don’t have to use them daily.

I really love these tanning drops. I’ve tried tons of self tanning products and these are my favorite for my face. To apply, I cleanse my face, and use circular motions to blend it into my skin with my fingertips.

I apply it to my face AND blend it down my neck so there isn’t a harsh line. If you have a very light skin tone naturally, that step is super important. I leave it on overnight and then cleanse like usual in the morning when I wake up.

I know it says you can mix the drops with a moisturizer but I just use it by itself, because I’ve noticed it gives me better results when applied that way. If I use these tanning drops twice a week it keeps a nice color on my face.

I like that it’s more of a brown based “tan” and not orange. There isn’t a strong scent like there is with some fake tanning products. It doesn’t make my face feel greasy at all, and actually gives it a nice moisturized feel.

Some facial tanning products have dried my face out in the past so I was happy to see that isn’t the case with this product. In my opinion, the price point is perfect because these work really well and last for a LONG time.

I only use maybe 6-7 drops to do my entire face and neck. I highly recommend these if you’re wanting to add some natural looking color to your face!.

okay so first off – I’m not gonna lie, I was so not expecting to like this at all. like AT ALL. Nothing against this brand but I’ve NEVER had good luck/outcomes with any kind of tanning drops 🤔. I don’t know couldn’t tell ya why lol but it is what it is.

Alright so I got into this bad boy the directions say it MUST** be mixed with moisturizer explains how many drops to get the level result you desire. I personally did 5 drops each day, smooshed it all up then covered my face neck in it (um.

I was terrified of being orange but also. not anywhere else 😂) and from the first application, I was actually impressed with the quality feel. It didn’t make me super slick, tacky, just filmy feelin, nothin.

but it did make me feel pretty darn smooth like WHOA. it’s got hyaluronic acid in it I’ve tried many products that are chocked full of this but this was like really crazy surprise good feeling my skin, I almost dare say – loves this.

BUT – okay, I’m gonna tell you the con now, BUT please remember; this means NOTHING for you as everybody’s skin is different thus different results 😀. Okay so day 3, I felt like maybe there was a little color but now.

I’m fairly certain that I am gradually shifting a bit more warm looking than straight pale – is it crazy? no, not only using 5-6drops; it’s gradual, AS it SAYS it is woman 😂😂 but also, it almost feels so gradual/slow building that I was kind of questioning what’s what here.

until I added more drops (8-10 as it suggests lol) that 7+ drops really was quite noticed as I started to look pretty evenly bronzed over wowing. I added this part in because I don’t want you to give up too quick on the tan aspect of it also don’t want you to jump way too fast come at me like 😅 Regardless of how(if) you wanna build a tan – you want this product.

It will help you come summer when you’re ready to look AMAZINGLY sun-kissed but MORE SO – it’s gonna keep your beautiful face hydrated/regaining hydration that is the ultimate way to good, happy skin – this product actually freakin shocked me I’m wickedly glad I got to try it cause I probably wouldn’t have known my own.

So my ultimate recommendation: Definitely add this to your “Buy/Try/Wish List” because it’s gonna be a super affordable price point it’s gonna be like a steal deal with how it makes you feel. get it, get it🎶.

I’ve tried out quite a few L’Oréal products in the past. I’ve also tried a lot of self-tanning products. I’m very surprised at how well this applies with my regular moisturizer. It’s hydrating, and very smooth.

The nice thing about applying this product with your moisturizer is that you don’t have to really worry about streaks in the color, or obvious spots where you started/stopped your self tanner. The bottle recommended using 5-10 drops, depending on how much payoff you want.

I started with 7 drops the first couple of uses, and ended up doing the full 10 drops once I got comfortable with the results. I have a light-medium skin tone, and I can pretty easily in the sun. I was just recently in Florida, and I made sure to wear plenty of sunscreen.

I wear sunscreen and sunglasses to help shield my face from sun damage, and this product was perfect to bring with for my vacation. My face was definitely much paler than the rest of my body, and I had no problem achieving a sun-kissed and believable glow while still being safe in the sun.

It didn’t break me out, my skin felt nice and plump and moisturized the mornings after use, and, besides the self tanner smell that develops after some time, it it was very comfortable to wear and mix with my current skincare routine.

I felt like it blended in very nicely, but definitely try to make sure your skin is exfoliated and clean prior to using this. I saw a little color come off on my face cleansing pad once I wiped my face after the product had time to develop.

I think it’s normal to see a little come off after cleansing, and you still have a really nice glow afterwards. I have a lot of hyperpigmentation around my chin, and at first it looks like it emphasized them after the product was done developing, but I gently exfoliate my skin one more time after that, and I still maintain a good amount of color.

I would reapply every other day or every two days to maintain the color you want. Just mess around with the amount of drops for your skin tone.

I never use any other tanning product now since I got this from a friend 3 years ago. This skinny tan body glow gradual tanner is amazing. Easy to apply , smells good , no fake tan smell at all , natural colour , no streaks , buildable colour , no need to remove as no tan rashes or patches , all the girls in my house use this on.

Body & face. Washes out of clothing & very little gets on bedding & also washes out well without staining. Love this product. I have given it to my friends as a gift & they are converted too.

I bought this off the back of seeing someone on Instagram recommending it. I do like it BUT its hit and miss and you really have to trial and error finding how many drops works for you. I did find that it wiped off easily with my cleanser, but overall i had a nice colour, and ot didnt dry my face out.

Just be careful if you have light coloured eyebrows, it can leave them with an orange tinge!.

This stuff is AMAZING. I have been using it for a few months now and I have zero complaints. Doesn’t streak, fades evenly, not too dark (which is good for my fair-light complexion) and gives the perfect glow.

I switched to this after trying a few others facial self tanners and this is by far the best. Also had no issues with breakouts or sensitivity. If you want to get really dark, I don’t know if this will do that but for a light-medium glowing colour, it’s perfect.

A good product but seems like other products such as moisturizer and toner slows down the tanning effect. I suggest using this after toner or without anything else. It does eventually after couple of uses bring more tanned but natural look to your face.

Remember to wash hands because I noticed it leaves a brownish stain on my palm if I don’t wash it.

7 months ago I had laser pigmentation removal which destroyed my skin barrier and now I have super sensitive skin and struggle with dermatitis. I can’t wear most of the old makeup and tan I use to wear without causing a flare up so I thought I’d give eco tan a go.

To my surprise it didn’t cause any irritation to my skin. The skin care products I use day and night are derived from essential oils and I’ve found if I mix them with tanning water the result isn’t as nice and sometimes comes out patchy.

I saw adds suggesting to use the face tan water as well as the super fruit hydrator and one drop of glory oil so I thought I’d give that a go as I felt my skin need that bit of extra hydration whilst tanning (my skin is super dehydrated since having the laser and my skin feels horrible if I miss a night of my skin care routine) and it left my face evenly tanned and feeling hydrated.

Super happy with all of the products that I even got the exfoliating scrub which I also love. I love the face tanning water but I do wish it came in a darker shade as I find I’m putting on 5x the recommended amount and I have to do this two nights in a row to achieve the colour I’m looking for.

So I saw this product on an instagram post and was sceptical that it actually worked. I had a major car accident and just couldn’t be bothered wearing make up (I never used to leave the house without it) and then I took a chance and purchased the face tan water.

I actually couldn’t live without this product now. I don’t wear make up anymore (except special occasions) and only use the face tan water. Safe to say I am so confident to leave the house wearing only this product.

I have a birth mark on my forehead, hence why I would always wear make up. Eco tan face tan water is an absolute blessing and makes my skin look amazing. I’m always getting comments about how natural it looks.

I have now ventured out and purchased a couple of more products from eco tan and will work up to getting the whole range. Sonya you have created the best product and should be so proud of yourself! Only down fall is they need a bigger bottle of the face tan water haha.

Hi guys, I just wanted to say that I received a really nice heart felt comment from someone about my skin. Ive had cystic acne when I was in high school and have always suffered from scarring to boil and painful acne on my face.

I love Sisley products! This facial tanner is no exception. I found the color to be light, but after a few applications, it was just the color I was looking for. It looks very natural and lasted well.

It’s nice that it is buildable for different skin tones. However, I have very sensitive skin, and I was hoping this product would not break my skin out, but it unfortunately did. I have read this is the very best facial tanner for your skin, and while the breakout out was less severe in comparison to other tanners I have tried in the past, it was not foolproof despite Sisley using natural ingredients.

I would use this all the time if it didn’t break my skin out. I would recommend it to those who do not have sensitive skin.

I got a sample in an order (such a great way to try new products Space NK!) but I don’t think I would purchase. It’s very pricey for the full size, but I would say a little goes a very long way. From a 4ml sample I got 5 uses! And I probably used too much the first time as I didn’t realise how little you needed.

So the full size would last a while. As others have mentioned, it’s not very moisturising so may not replace your moisturiser/be a good multi-tasker (which would help with the price tag). I just didn’t find I got the same tanned, glowing look others have mentioned.

I had to use several nights in a row to get an effect, and then I looked a bit yellow/orange. You have to be really careful around eyebrows – they picked up colour more than my face! The smell, though not fake-tan like, was not my favourite either.

I’ll be sticking to my tan luxe drops.

I have both light/medium and medium/dark to use depending on the season. They both deposit great color on my light/medium-olive complexion. Without a real tan in the colder months, my skin is pale but yellow and I look “sick”.

I use the lighter bottle to brighten and deepen the color of my skin and it does a great job. Blends very easily, does not look textured, there is plenty of brown in the color to not look orange. And zero sparkle or glitter like so many do! I tan very easily and use the medium/dark for summer to add a deeper color to my tan and richen it.

Especially if I done feel the natural tan I have is totally even. Looks gorgeous and natural and excellent for special occasions. I let it dry completely once I’ve applied it to avoid rubbing onto clothes and my sheets, couch, etc and haven’t had any awkward stains or mishaps.

Though, admittedly, I have used it while in a rush to get somewhere and still have not had it rub off of me. It doesn’t smell either which is great and it is pretty moisturizing as well. I think one bottle lasts me roughly 30 uses.

I am fair-skinned and have been using self-tanners for about 5 years now. I’ve tried many different brands and have never been really satisfied. They usually have a smell, and let’s be honest, none of them smell great.

I usually like them at first, but then when they start to fade and you re-apply, that’s when you see how they really perform – subsequent applications NEVER look as good as the initial one. Also, fake tans are a lot more noticeably fake when you are out in real sunlight than they are when you’re indoors.

And recently I learned that self-tanners contain chemicals that aren’t very good for you, even if they say they’re all natural – people, do your research before you start splotching any old thing on your body.

I switched to St. Tropez One Night Only because it doesn’t rely on a chemical reaction taking place to achieve a tanned glow. You just slather it on, and you can see immediately if you missed a spot or applied unevenly, and you can fix it right away.

Simple, simple, simple. Yes, it only lasts a day or two (2 for me). But it really doesn’t wash off with just water (you have to lather up with soap to wash it off – and it really does come right off – of your hands too).

It doesn’t even come off with sweat. It looks like a real tan, if there’s an odor, it’s very faint and not at all unpleasant, and it does not streak. I used to use a mitt to get it right, but now I don’t even use that anymore, it’s that foolproof.

Enough said.

I love this temporary bronzer that washes off in shower and does not have sparkles in it that looks horrendous on most skin and Very unatural. Not too dark or light and helps blend in the discoloration so many self tanners leave.

Not much of a scent. Not thick like some. A shame more companies keep throwing sparkles in their products. This was one of a few that didnt.

I’ve been interested in this product for some time, and tried a cheaper dupe of it last summer and was disappointed so I shelled out for the real thing this time. It’s a great serum, it feels very hydrating and non-sticky.

However, what makes this special is the inclusion of tanner. It has zero bad tanner smell, the added fragrance is pleasant and completely covers the smell of DHA. For me the tan is very subtle, it actually gives me more of a glow than a tan.

For example, even if I’m using this for a few days in a row (and I apply it generously) I don’t need to change my tinted moisturizer shade. The only reason I’m not giving this 5 stars is because while the formula is great, the ingredients are pretty basic.

If not for the inclusion of of the tanner you could get an really good hyaluronic serum for a fraction of the price. For me this is a treat I’d buy myself in the spring and summer, but it’s not a year round necessity.

This is my go-to product when I want to add a quick glowing tan to my face. I love that it is not an oil, it’s a nutrient rich serum containing hyaluronic acid that leaves my skin hydrated with a healthy, radiant and streak-free tan.

It’s easy to control the depth and if used each day it will gradually deepen my tan. Best of all it has never irritated my skin or caused me to break out; it is fragrance free, it is simple quick to use.

I have tried many different and decent “tanning oils” for my face – this is my absolute favorite. When I want a deeper tan I will use the Tan-Luxe Glow oil at night. Great effective products, a lil pricey, but worth it.

I really enjoyed using this product. I usually avoid fake tan based products in the face because I assume they’ll all make me break out. This is the first product to have changed my mind. It feels nourishing, light and non clogging, and this is due to the fact it’s base is made of hyaluronic acid which is great for all types of skin, including sensitive.

I love the fact I wake up with a subtle but natural glow without the negatives. It’s not an obvious tan so don’t expect anything dramatic, but you can build it up and add more drops so it’s pretty customisable.

Just a tip – make sure to wash your hands after application!.
