20 Best Seat Cushion For Wheelchair (2023 Updated)

I prefer the foam over memory foam. It has no pressure points like memory foam depresses and then is hard. That does not work well for a seat cushion. But the outside of this is water proof or resistant on BOTH sides.

So, I have to put a towel or blanket on it to prevent heat and sweat. I will have to end up recovering the foam probably. But, this is probably perfect for the elderly in case it gets wet.

The chair pad is not thick enough for people with bedsores, but very comfortable for those without. It is about 3 inches thick and fits perfectly inside a wheel chair. Clean up is easy and odor control is great.

The really nice feature is that it clips behind the wheel chair seat so it doesn’t slip.

Had to return because it was thicker than I thought. Probably works great for a wheelchair but not for my purposes.

I have purchased multiple cushions. 1 for a rocking chair, 1 for my computer chair, 2 largest cushions to use on my couch, 1 largest cushion for my husband’s couch. We are both more than pleased. I have spinal stenosis and get spinal injections.

My husband has had spinal surgery and also gets spinal injections. These cushions help relieve pressure whether lying down or sitting up. I enjoy the cushion in my computer chair as using the computer is one way I can keep in touch with family & friends.

This is a good seat cushion for wheelchair or ANY chair. It is as advertised. The cover is SUPER easy to wash and dries in no time! I am using it for a wheelchair. I got the 15 x16 size. A bit smaller , but works great.

There is a non- skid surface on bottom to keep it from sliding. Great feature but it would be great to have those ties also for times when the cover is being washed and you still need the cushion. This way it won’t slide at all.

I have bulging disc and sciatic pain on my left leg due to a accident at work. Company van seat is very uncomfortable. Did my research and tried this FORTEM chair seat cushion and lumbar support back pillow.

Must buy. The first couple of days, you deal with pain. (Body had to adjust to the seat foam which is solid and lumbar support). If you dont like stiff foam on the butt, this is not for you. (Although it molded for support.

Comfortable for me). Lumbar back pillow adjust to where you need support. (Softer cushion material). My 3rd day with the both of these products and I feel no pain driving. I tried different support cushions and this one is the best.

I have a really old desk chair that has absolutely no cushioning. I spend hours at my desk for work so I needed some extra support. This cushion duo does a fantastic job making my old chair feel brand new.

The seat cushion is very thick, comfy, and made of a soft fabric. The back cushion is just as comfy, with the only problem being that it slides down my chair over time so I have to keep readjusting it.

Also the back seat cushion has straps that you click into place (like a seatbelt) against your chair. The straps or too long though for my chair so I had to knot them to get them to fit snuggly (they still slip down over time though).

If youre a working college student like me who spends almost MAJORITY of their day sitting on a chair, experience frequent lower back pain, and awfully a lot of discomfort from it, then you definitely need to get yourself a lumbar chair cushion just like this one!! Ive had this for almost more than 2 weeks now and I definitely enjoy my sitting experience much better than sitting on the chair alone.

I actually bought TWO of these, one for my office desk at work and one for my studio office at home, so Im very glad I finally decided to pick this up. I regret not looking into this much sooner during my earlier school years! The seat cushion feels very comfortable and soft, almost like memory foam.

The lumbar pillow also has a vey convenient strap that attaches to the back of your chair so that it stays in place. It tends to move down through out the day, but thats because I move in my seat a lot so its easy to just pick it back up to rest properly on the lumbar of my back.

The fabric is also very smooth and of great quality. For the price, it is great value for the money compared to the more expensive options. Definitely recommending this product!.

I have not discovered any reason to not like it, nor have I discovered any cons yet. It is supportive and comfortable. My butt is actually missing it now. I have been sitting on my usual padded desk Chair, without it, and I realize how much It really helps.

I might need an additional one for other chairs. I am not a “Full Time Wheel Chair User,” so I have had it on my chair, at the dining table to test out how it feels “Full Time. ” I dislocate easily, have spinal injuries, neck injuries and a smashed tail bone.

I really needed something. It fits perfectly on my wheel chair. I am going to make a nice cover for mine, because the top part is a bit “Rubbery Feeling,” and I want something pretty. It is easy to wipe off! Not sure if it is water resistant; but it feels like it could be.

The bottom of the cushion does Grip the seat of the wheel chair, and It does have a sturdy piece of webbing to help secure it to the chair. It did take a bit of pressure off my spine. I can feel it now.

I was able to sit on it all day without any issues. I would definitely recommend it. I love that it comes in many sizes. I am pretty sure that it is available in most every size, for different types of chairs.

It is good quality for a great value. I will add that the one I had tried, for the same price, was not as supportive or comfortable. I was super happy to have an opportunity to try this one.

I’ve tried this cushion for about a week in my office chair, sitting for at least 7-8 hours a day. I’m happy to report that the cushion does not yet show wear and tear or seem noticeably flatter from this extreme use.

I caretake my 92 yr old father who is becoming wheelchair bound. We’ve used a wheelchair for some trips and doctor appointments for awhile now with a gel cushion that was given to us. While it’s served him well, it’s starting to show signs of wear and tear so I was glad to acquire this cushion to replace it.

The last cushion was about 4″ thick. this one is about 3″. That’s a bonus for my father who has shorter legs so he will be able to get his feet on the ground easier to paddle along on his own. Personally I’d say this is the same firmness as his other cushion.

the difference is that when I tested it out, I felt that after I sat, I slowly “sank” into the cushion more. meaning that while it’s firm, it’s distributing the pressure better. I also like the strap that holds the cushion so it doesn’t slip off the wheelchair.

It comes with an easy-to-clean cover which is useful as my father is also dealing with urinary incontinence so we have some days where the wet leaks through the pull-ups. All in all a nice improvement from his old, worn out cushion.

I’m working from home, and spending a lot more hours per day in the same chair than pre-COVID. That lead me to feel the need for an extra cushion in my home office chair, for comfort purposes. I decided I wanted memory foam and a gel layer, not just foam.

This cushion offers both. One concern in selecting a cushion is how it will perform for a larger person. I’ve been using it daily for several weeks now, and am pleased to report that I detect no changes.

So I would say that it can be expected to perform well for persons weighing up to 250 pounds. The major shortcoming, in my opinion, is that it is smaller than the seat of my chair. I would really like it to be about 3 inches longer in the front-to-back dimension.

When it is positioned appropriately to support my hips, it stops about 3 inches before the front edge of the chair seat. Unfortunately all the memory foam and gel style cushions seem to be about the same size.

The design and materials are unique in my experience. For the first time ever, I can get up after two hours of keyboard work and not feel that my spine has been crushed. There is zero pressure on one’s spine, thanks to the design.

Users should remember, though, that they make the correct use of this cushion only if their seating arrangement is correct: right seat height, good back support, feet together and square on the floor.

Firmer than expected, but this turned out to be helpful when boosting a chair that was too soft. Top (blue) surface smooth which also was desired, easier to slide forward when you want to get up, but not enough to slip off otherwise.

Bottom a little grippy which helps it stay in place. Pad is surprisingly heavy which makes the loop useful for carrying. On a really hard chair (wheelchair etc. ) this would provide just modest cushioning, which might be better for longterm use.

It will not flatten as much as a softer cushion might. I am glad we tried this cushion, as we found a good use for it.

I bought this for my son who is in a nursing home and confined to a wheelchair all day. The one they had him using was quite thin and had a plastic cover which was brittle and torn. This cushion is perfect! It’s much more comfortable and has a removable cover that can be washed.

I got this cushion because I sit in uncomfortable office chairs at work and have a bad back. I tried several different cushions and they would go flat and didn’t do their jobs. A friend recommended wheelchair cushions and he was definitely right.

I live the foam and gel combo and this cushion fits perfectly into the office chair. The only faults this has is that it’s heavy and the blue (top part) is slippery. I’m using this cushion our of its intended use, so I’m not to angry about it.

I weigh 225. 6′ with average build but 65yr old man belly. I sit at a computer all day for work. I have low back issues that are sometimes really painful and sometimes just old age stiffness. I have tried several different computer chair / sciatica cushions.

Came to the conclusion that a gel memory foam would be the best. Looking for that balance between support ( would not squish down to nothing) but not be too hard. This cushion does fit that balance. When I first sit on it, it feels hard.

But after a few minutes I can feel it start to soften from body heat and soften up. It does not have the coccyx cutout but I also don’t seem to miss it with this cushion. The depth at 18″ is plenty and the beveled front does help lessen the pressure on my legs.

I do wish it was a little wider, but it is wider than my butt so as long as I position it when 1st sit, it is fine. This is still not “the perfect” cushion, but so far I like it. I have not tried the gel cushions ( like the purple thing) but they were going to be my last resort.

Don’t think I need to go there. Am happy so far. Will see how long it lasts before the gel foam starts to lose it’s ability to soften with body heat.

It does take pressure off my feet and knees, and lets me sit up a little taller. Unfortunately it adds pressure to my tailbone. And it is not slip proof. I have tried sliding it forward to ease the pressure on my tailbone, but it slides backward as soon as I sit down.

I would like to find a keyhole or coccyx version of this cushion.

This is the BEST cushion ive ever purchased. im only 5’2″ and to be able to see over my steering wheel and dashboard, I need something to place in my car seat to give me extra height in my Park Avenue car.

ive tried so many different types of cushions and no matter what they’re made of, foam rubber, memory foam, etc. , nothing was giving me any height. They all would sink down. but, this particular cushion barely sunk in, maybe a quarter of an inch, yet maintained its comfort.

I think this is the best wheelchair cushion I’ve ever had, and I have had many! First off I was looking for a wheelchair cushion that would rise me up a bit to give me more height as my kitchen units are so high.

This did the job giving me at least 3 inch height which has definitely helped. Second I wanted comfort but a cushion that would not sink down and loose its shape once I was seated for a while. This cushion does not sink.

Thirdly I don’t like to sweat especially in the summer on a cushion if sitting in my wheelchair for long periods of time. This cushion with its machine washable cover is ideal, no sweating. So overall it tickets all the boxes for me.

The only thing for my wheelchair anyway it is about 2/3″ short so it dosent sit right to the end of my chair, but it is still comfortable. So that a minor detail, if it wasent that it was a bit short it would be absolutely perfect.

No longer fo I have to search for a decent wheelchair cushion and end up giving them away as not suitable. So I’m a totally happy customer. But this cushion its fantastic and a great price. And the lifetime guarantee is the icing on the cake.

This thing is great for long gaming sessions. Sometimes you just gotta play your favorite game for hours. Then my butt would hurt really bad. I had got this cushion and that other “purple” cushion. The purple cushion would not support my weight which was disappointing (the thickest one they had) so then I tried this Everlasting cushion.

and holy cow. its nice. At first its a little firm but over time your but sinks into it but at the same time its thick enough to keep supporting without touching the bottom of the chair. So it supports all 225 pounds of myself.

I have a big behind too. lol Its nice. Though i did put a couple of fluffy towels to help protect my skin because having a good cushion is only part of the battle. You need something to protect your skin from getting sore.

So what I did is folded 2 really fluffy towels over the cushion and then after that my skin and my sore behind. were finally happy. It fits my recliner and my gaming chair. I bought two of them. And now my girlfriend wants one for her chair too lol.

So yeah its really a great cushion and its heck of a lot cheaper than most other stuff out there if not even better than the really expensive ones. Hope my review helps all of you fellow gamers out there.

I use this as a general chair cushion when I have to sit and work for hours at a time. It’s nice.

This is a spectacular wheelchair cushion. It actually combines memory foam with a gel insert. I have been in a chair my entire life (53yrs ‘dont tell anyone’) and this cushion feels really comfortable.

The chair is a dream to take my client for a walk. He lives in the city and the pavements are not the best. So it’s a welcome change from what we were using.

I purchased the wheel chair cushion for my dad. It was the perfect size for his chair and seems to be very comfortable.

The only reason I gave it a 4 star is because we haven’t had them (we bought 2, one for each of us) long enough to really assess how well they are going to stand up. So far so good. We used them on a trip in the vehicle and I believe my back hurt a lot less than usual for being on a trip.

It seems to be really good at my computer chair, but I didn’t like it in my living room chair when I was watching TV.

I love the McKesson seat cushion. It has oleviated my hip pain due to a needed hip revision which I am waiting on. I’m hoping it doesn’t flatten out to much before that happens

This cushion fits perfectly in the chair and is very comfortable.

Ordered this for my mother. She sits a lot in her lift chair and finally found something bigger than most of the similar cushions. She said it’s a little stiff and hopes it softens up in the near future.

Otherwise it seems to be a good cushion. We’ll see how it performs.

At work, my co-worker and myself needed a cushion for our chair. The one we had was getting pretty well worn. So I thought it was about time to replace it. I found the cushion to be very comfortable and helps when sitting for any period of time.

Will order again when this wears out.

Product is the perfect addition to any wheelchairs and transfer chair. Should be offered on all type sales. On long periods of sitting for what ever reason the chair cushion makes the wait comfortable.

Good quality and nicely sculpted for positioning but if you have sensation issues and need protection from pressure sores, this cushion is far too firm. Cover is nice, sheds rain but doesn’t squeak or cause sweating.

(I’m using the cover on another cushion and love it) The cushion would be perfect if it was about 30% less dense. Not sure why they made so firm. Not sure what population it’s intended for. I’m sure it wouldn’t be comfortable for long periods if you can feel it.

And being non-returnable, I’m stuck with it even though I knew it was unusable through the plastic packaging. But at least I’ve gotten use out of the cover.

I had spinal surgery a couple years ago in the middle of my CANCER TREATMENT. We thought the CANCER spread to my spine instead it was another issue all together. I could not find a chair in our home to sit comfortably in without pain and driving to our only GRANDCHILD’S to visit was getting pretty uncomfortable.

I purchased one of these cushions for my car seat and it worked out GREAT, this one is for my recliner and again it has worked out GREAT. Offering a GREAT cushion and having a great selection of sizes made my sitting at home and in the car possible again and comfortable.

Well made brand name cushion. Its comfortable. The cushion cover is a nice material and the cushion is good quality. We have had many different cushions and I would recommend this.

GREAT cushion also for a TRANSPORT CHAIR!! Even though our transport chair is one inch wider than this cushion, this cushion worked perfectly!! Fits well in the seat, stays put, LIGHT WEIGHT though thick and comfortable.

Really like that it has a removable washable cover though we have not tried washing it yet. Cover is slightly slick which helps with transfer, but not slippery. Attractive black cover with zipper. We bought a handful of styles to compare, and THIS one was the winner in the eyes of both patient and caregiver!! I’ve had hip replacements and need a cushion that makes EVERY chair comfortable. So far, this cushion is perfect. The size allows it to be used anywhere, including concert or stadium seating. The material maintains it shape and rebounds immediately.

I can sit comfortably in even a hard, straight chair for several hours at a time. The only reason I’m hesitant to give it an excellent rating is that I’ve only had it for 2 weeks and I don’t know how well it will hold up.

But for now, it’s perfect!!.

I ordered this to give more height to a chair seat so it was easier to get out of but it didn’t do that at all. It says it’s 3 inches but I measured it and it’s barely 2 1/2 inches. It is too soft and squishes down too much to do any good.

So I took it back. The packaging was very strange also. The ‘bag’ it was in could have held a 3 x 5 foot table top!! The cushion is only 16 x 18 inches!! I’m sure they could have found something quite a bit smaller that would have worked better.

It was even hard to figure out how to get it open to get to the cushion.
