20 Best Seat Cushion For Sciatica Nerve Pain (2023 Updated)

I bought this hopes of getting extra support for one of my office chairs. Instead it was disappointing. The cushion was firm at first and after about an hour of sitting, the memory foam did not work and the pillow was too soft.

I hate that I threw away the outside cardboard cover of the pillow or I would’ve returned for a refund.

Good – it’s very wide fits the entire seat of the chair Bad – it’s not very stiff and smushes easily it’s like a limp pillow so even though it measures about 2 inches thick when you sit on it – it becomes completely flat … which of course is not the purpose.

Although this cushion is more firm than I expected, it does relieve some of the pressure on hips and back while sitting in an office chair all day. The bottom fabric grips the chair seat so there’s no slipping.

I was sooo excited to get this as I am pregnant and having lots of issues with the muscles all Associated with the lower back, and pelvic floor muscles so the top gluteal muscles are being affected too.

I thought this cushion was going to be comfortable and help sooo much and its the exact opposite!!!! Its memory foam but like the HARDEST MEMORY FOAM EVER. It is not comfortable. I thought maybe ( even though memeory foam doesnt get broken in) that maybe I needed to give it a real shot , so I did.

I tried multiple times a day for long periods of time for about 5 days straight now and NOPE ITS STILL JUST AS HARD AND ACTUALLY MAKES THE MUSCLES AND MY BACK HURT WORSE. DO NOT BUY THIS IT WILL MAKE THINGS WORSE and its pretty expensive for a cushion.

The materials look good and the price is fair. This is the second one I purchased; the first cushion is on my old office chair where the padding had flattened out and the other on my wooden piano bench which allows me to practice longer without fidgeting around.

No if, ands or butt pains anymore.

So far the product holds it’s shape, compresses and returns to shaper. If that continues, I will consider it a very good value. Washable cover and handle are nice touches.

I have bulging disc and sciatic pain on my left leg due to a accident at work. Company van seat is very uncomfortable. Did my research and tried this FORTEM chair seat cushion and lumbar support back pillow.

Must buy. The first couple of days, you deal with pain. (Body had to adjust to the seat foam which is solid and lumbar support). If you dont like stiff foam on the butt, this is not for you. (Although it molded for support.

Comfortable for me). Lumbar back pillow adjust to where you need support. (Softer cushion material). My 3rd day with the both of these products and I feel no pain driving. I tried different support cushions and this one is the best.

I have a really old desk chair that has absolutely no cushioning. I spend hours at my desk for work so I needed some extra support. This cushion duo does a fantastic job making my old chair feel brand new.

The seat cushion is very thick, comfy, and made of a soft fabric. The back cushion is just as comfy, with the only problem being that it slides down my chair over time so I have to keep readjusting it.

Also the back seat cushion has straps that you click into place (like a seatbelt) against your chair. The straps or too long though for my chair so I had to knot them to get them to fit snuggly (they still slip down over time though).

If youre a working college student like me who spends almost MAJORITY of their day sitting on a chair, experience frequent lower back pain, and awfully a lot of discomfort from it, then you definitely need to get yourself a lumbar chair cushion just like this one!! Ive had this for almost more than 2 weeks now and I definitely enjoy my sitting experience much better than sitting on the chair alone.

I actually bought TWO of these, one for my office desk at work and one for my studio office at home, so Im very glad I finally decided to pick this up. I regret not looking into this much sooner during my earlier school years! The seat cushion feels very comfortable and soft, almost like memory foam.

The lumbar pillow also has a vey convenient strap that attaches to the back of your chair so that it stays in place. It tends to move down through out the day, but thats because I move in my seat a lot so its easy to just pick it back up to rest properly on the lumbar of my back.

The fabric is also very smooth and of great quality. For the price, it is great value for the money compared to the more expensive options. Definitely recommending this product!.

Too expensive and not enough cushioning I bought this cushion for my husband who has sitting pain. We have three of their prior model blue ischial tuberosity cushions. We assumed this more expensive model would actually be more cushioning, but in fact, while it has more expensive gel cushioning, it squashes down a bit too much and its not as supportive.

I only weigh about 115 pounds, so thats not the problem. I really wish the company would return to manufacturing their less expensive but more cushioning blue pads.

Sitting a lot at office or home caused me a lot of lower back pain. This Aylio seat has eased the pain a lot in a week time. The socket seat might feel a little hard or stiff in the beginning but then one gets used to it.

I like and enjoy it and also recommend it. The reason I didn’give it t 5 star rating is because I just got it 2 weeks ago but I really think the material and craftsmanship will make it last and last.

Perhaps I would have been able to provide a better review if I had this cushion when my condition was at its worst. (periformis syndrome and bursitis in hip). Terrible pain in my sit bone, which was somewhat mitigated with physiotherapy prior to receiving the cushion.

It is beautifully made, and I appreciate the indent for the tail bone as I have broken mine twice. The reason for my low rating is that it would be more comfortable if the front edge was more tapered, having only one seam, or even only a fold.

As it is, that double seam at the front edge is uncomfortable where it ends near the top of my thigh. It also could be deeper, as it doesnt even cover a dining room chair. Although it does provide some relief, if this cushion was made deeper, with a thin front edge it would perform better.

I’m working from home, and spending a lot more hours per day in the same chair than pre-COVID. That lead me to feel the need for an extra cushion in my home office chair, for comfort purposes. I decided I wanted memory foam and a gel layer, not just foam.

This cushion offers both. One concern in selecting a cushion is how it will perform for a larger person. I’ve been using it daily for several weeks now, and am pleased to report that I detect no changes.

So I would say that it can be expected to perform well for persons weighing up to 250 pounds. The major shortcoming, in my opinion, is that it is smaller than the seat of my chair. I would really like it to be about 3 inches longer in the front-to-back dimension.

When it is positioned appropriately to support my hips, it stops about 3 inches before the front edge of the chair seat. Unfortunately all the memory foam and gel style cushions seem to be about the same size.

This cushion is the most comfortable thing I have ever sat on, if you have tailbone soreness or just need extra support in an old or hard chair do not hesitate to purchase this. Contours to legs and buttocks but bounces back every time.

I’ve bought quite a few cushions and this is the first one that gave me some relief. It didn’t cure my problems but at least I can get on a plane and fly somewhere without crying in pain still can’t sit for long times but I can go places now.

I plan on buying a couple more for use at my computer and at church.

This will work well if your specific problem is at the coccyx, I would say. This pillow is well made and should last a long time. Washable slip cover (which wasn’t advertised) is good.

It’s comfortable but didn’t help much with my sciatic nerve pain.

I was so pleased I ordered another one. I have a ton of back and leg pain. It doesn’t seem That I can get comfortable regardless how I sit. I was so pleasantly surprised at how much it helped that I ordered another one.

this is a very comfortable cushion. I bought two so i could have one in each car. i have severe scoliosis which is curvature of the spine and riding in the car was so panful i dreaded even the shortest trips.

The cushion takes the pressure off of your tailbone region and gives you a flat surface to sit on. Our car seats slope backwards and there is no adjustment. I am very pleased with the price , comfort and quality.

Best of all they come in purple!!.

I purchased this because we couldn’t seem to get my computer vision right on my progressive lenses; I was always tipping my head back. Now I sit taller and can see fine. I have an expansive rear end and it still feels comfortable and my feet still touch the floor.

Don’t know about helping with the back pain business but it hasn’t caused any either! Seems to be holding up well, has not compressed after a week or so of use.

I buy a new set of “booty cushions” as we call them every year because I literally can’t sit without them. I broke my back inmates T11 & L1 & have a disc replacement at L4-L5, & a fusion at L5-S1, & have spectacular disc degeneration, etc.

Moral of the story: don’t fall when rock climbing, but if you do, DEFINITELY get great booty & lumbar cushions! So, I’ve tried SO MANY brands & Everlasting Comfort has the BEST I’ve tried, lasted the longest too with daily use (in car, when I go anywhere, but since I can’t often sit at my dining table anyway cuz I’m deed by dinner, home always has last year’s model.

The ONLY thing That takes stars for me is the lack of a carry strap. My lumbar pillow has the back straps (though they’re HUGNORMOUSLY LONG) so it’s relatively easy to grab on the quick, but the EC booty pillow doesn’t have that delightful little carry strap at the notch that the CYLEN(?) brand & others have.

So I drop it a lot. Which is yuck because then I have to bend down & pick it up. I have tremor & arthritis in my hands & I drop stuff all day, so carry straps are a must. But honestly, I’m still probably going to get another one of these guys anyway because when they’re most needed they get it done.

I can see MOVIES again! I can road trip & go on long plane rides again! These seat & lumbar cushions are my most critically important mobility devices. They enable me to get around & be a person! Glorious! Nitpicks things: don’t love the white bottom, do love the non-skid dots, don’t love the ginormous blue EC logo on each just because I like to be stealthy & they are a little bit attention grabbing, but I do love that they’re embroidered in & not printed because the printed ones fade & lift after a while & when people inquire as to the brand, I can’t tell them without looking it up, but always can with the embroidered ones.

The CLN was embroidered too. And dang, that glorious strap. But the EC is just a better product. It’s decently squishy but in the year+ that I’ve had & used it, it hasn’t noticeably compressed, and many do that.

I think it’s the type of foam. Would like squishier, but those only last about 2 months & that gets spendy. Feels like a tukkas cloud though. So if you’re a kajillionaire, get the booty clouds & replace them every 2 months.

If you’re a normal person who would like to sit for longer than a minute without breaking out your fillings because you’re gnashing your teeth so hard against the pain, get the Eternal Comfort pillows, both seat & lumbar/ back.

I purchased this a few weeks ago in an effort to finish making my office chair more suitable for long-term use and avoiding pain. (Prior to that, I bought a back lumbar support cushion from the same brand, which had also helped some.

) The seat cushion is a dense foam that truly serves to support/encourage spinal alignment, allowing you to sit up straight. I sit at a desk most of the day at a computer, and after years of sitting in office chairs without proper support, I was having regular neck, shoulder, and back pain.

Since getting the cushion, I’ve been sitting up straighter (even notice better posture when standing), and the pain has genuinely subsided on its own. I know several of the reviews talk about the cushion being hard and uncomfortable.

If you’re looking for something that feels like sitting on a cloud, this is not the item for you. If, however, you are looking for something that supports you, this is a great option. It’s the density (which I presume is what people are referring to when describing it as hard) that allows the cushion to provide the support/pressure in a way that guides the spine into alignment that makes the product effective.

Admittedly, sitting on it for too long can make my butt go a little numb, but the pain relief and posture benefits far outweigh that issue, for me at least. Considering it’s important to get up periodically to move around, stretch, and give your eyes a break anyway, I don’t see there really being an issue.

The ONLY thing I could agree with other reviewers on that may be a con for men is the front, middle contour of the cushion potentially detracting from the comfort level. As I’m not a guy, I can’t confirm that first-hand, though.

I wish I had bought this chair cushion/support much sooner. I’ve had the back support on my chair for several months now and could not be happier. My computer chair that I use most days has seen better days and the padding in the seat part is just gone these days, it is flat and hard and was causing me more discomfort than I realized.

I was hesitant to buy this, it is quite a pricey product for it just being some memory foam, but let me tell you it is some AMAZING memory foam, it is softer than I expected and firmer. It has provided so much support and comfort from only using it a few days now that I cannot believe I was hesitant to buy it I can say with confidence you will not be disappointed by the quality and comfort your bottom is in store for.

Other surprises are the fact that the design worked so well, I thought the **** in the front and the missing cut out in the back would in fact make this awkward to sit on but it is quite the opposite, they knew what they were doing when they molded it in this shape as it contours and tailors perfectly do you and feels quite natural.

Along with the back rest of the same model you can even take an old beat up computer chair from painful to 100% comfort. I still need to replace my chair sometime soon, but both of these products will go directly into the new chair when I get it.

They are worth every penny for the satisfaction and comfort provided.

I bought this as I broke my Coccyx in a fall almost 25 yrs ago; it hadn’t been bothersome but, since working from home/pandemic onset, I have been spending long hours in a home office chair (not a regular office chair).

As a result, my days were becoming pain filled. I decided to give this a try. It WORKS. It isn’t a squishy/posh cushion but rather a support device. It isn’t hard nor does it cause any discomfort in any way.

Instead, it gives good support for my old injury. I’d say it was arthritis but it isn’t a joint so ??? Anyhow, I am thankful to have found this product. I easily work 9 solid hours a day in my chair with it and often more.

The design and engineering of this seat cushion are much more sophisticated and effective than other seat cushions I have tried over the years for sciatica relief. I’m going to purchase a second one for my car.

Seemingly a well crafted product. But not for me. I suffered severe weight loss due to cancer and needed something to protect my tailbone. But this cushion was too firm and the cut out too small to position since I must sleep sitting up.

I would recommend it to anyone needing a firm cushion. But am returning it myself. Warning however. Though purchased on Walmart. com the seller sent it in an Amazon box with receipts. complicating it’s return.

I have tailbone issues and this pillow helps relieve them better than a similar product that my co-worker uses at work. Hers was a bit too firm. This one is more comfortable but still gives enough lift, providing you do not sit in a horrible position on a super hard surface.

For a normal office chair, this works nicely.

My head needs more elevation at night to be able to sleep with my current sinus problems. If I elevate our mattress sufficiently it hurts my husband’s back. If I pump up my core pillow sufficiently it hurts my neck.

This wedge gives just the right amount of support so I can soften my pillow and lower our mattress so we BOTH can sleep comfortably. I’m very happy with it.

I use this in my van it helps my lower back to be angled properly to avoid lower back pain. I have used them for years but usually get them from my Chiroprator. I just ordered this one directly since I knew they work.

They do wear out or breakdown over time which only makes sense. I probably get a new one approximately every 6 months. My lower back usually lets me know when I need a new one. Anyway I find they work great and this one was exactly like the ones I have gotten from my Chiropractor.

He is he one that recommended it and it does work wonderfully.

This is as stated, almost perfect for what I needed. Wish it was larger. It is dense enough so that it doesn’t sink in easily, yet not too rigid. Composition of material seems to be quality. It does not have a cover, however just sliding it into a pillowcase is not a problem.

Again, just wish it was wider, possibly a bit deeper. But satisfied for now. And. well, I do have to admit, I do think its a few dollars pricier than should be.

The only chair I had for my desk was a metal fold up chair, and I could not afford a fancy desk chair. This made my desk almost unusable, because the card table chairs were uncomfortable, and also sat too low to the desk.

SO glad I purchased these. This cushion set is one of the best purchases I have made. It is so comfortable, even on my dinky fold up chair. Additionally, the cushion adds a few inches to your sitting height (maybe 2 or 3, I’m not completely certain), so now my fold up chair is EXACTLY the right height for my desk! (But do be aware of this, in case your chair is already high enough or too high – it will add a couple inches.

) I can sit at my chair for hours and have no problems at all. In fact it is now one of the most comfortable spots in my home. I am really grateful to have finally found an inexpensive solution to not having a good chair.

These cushions were so worth the price! I feel like I now have a super fancy desk chair in my house. Longevity/how they hold up: Have had these 8 months now – to me it feels just like it did when I got them out of the box.

0 issues with the cushions wearing down and still feel brand new. That said, I do not use this all day / every day, in fact maybe only a few times a week I sit in the chair. Additionally, I am only about 100 pounds.

I really liked these guys. Inside the box (the cushions came packaged in a box), there was a little hand out mentioning that this is a small business that makes these cushions. I don’t remember how many employees, but I remember it saying something about maybe 20 employees or so.

I am VERY happy with this seat cushion! I bought this seat cushion duo for use in my car seat. I do a whole lot of driving most days, and I also have a condition that causes my nerves to become tingly and numb if I am in certain positions for too long, including the position I am in when sitting in my car seat.

I was hoping that this seat cushion would comfortably and effectively change the dynamics of my position so that I wouldn’t loose feeling in my body with all my driving. And it worked!!! I bought this shortly before taking a long driving trip to visit family, and I was so much more comfortable, and had no nerve problems at all! That was back in November 2021, and since then I have continued to have to drive a whole lot, and this cushion has been a life saver for my nerves, keeping them tingle and numbness free! It is very well made, both structurally, and as far as firmness and ergonomics! I would definitely recommend this seat to anyone who needs it, for any kind of firm sitting needs: car seats, office seats, gaming seats, etc.

I like that I do feel like my back feels better when using it. I dislike that it smells awful –like it got wet and began to mold. Also my back began to itch after using it and I have a small insect bite mark.

I think this product may have not been stored in plastic the entire time and possibly insects or bed bugs got in it. I don’t have any bed bugs in my house and my clothes are washed frequently. This is the only new product I’ve been using.

Based on the smell, I have very little doubt that it has been exposed to some elements and then repackaged. May even be used.

I love this cushion so much I ordered a second one. One to keep in the car and one as a mobile cushion. Its very comfortable and has a removable, washable cover, and a built in handle on the side. I have no doubt it will make my rather boney bottom just that more happy when I go to the library to use the computer or when I go to the clubhouse for Dominoes or cards.

Plus, its made right here in Tampa! I live about 45 miles South of Tampa. So glad to be able to support a local company. Another great purchase from Walmart where they deliver even better than Amazon in my humble opinion.

My husband got it to help relieve the pressure on his tailbone when sitting. He had tried cushions on top of cushions with no comfort or support at all. Instantly upon arrival of the coccyx seat cushion, his relief came quickly.

I had adominal surgery so I was unable to do my back exercises and it started to act up and I was also getting number in my rear end from sitting all day as I work at a desk and had to keep re-situating myself and it was causing pain in my abdoment.

I had tried pillows, blankets and towel and even a foam cushion but that was not working and I had to get up no less than every hour and walk around for a few minutes and by the end of the day it was more like every 30 minutes.

The foam cushion I was using was only 2 inches thick but it totally compressed but this is thick enough and I think the gel top also seems to add more support as it does not sink as low and leaves a cushion underneath.

Since I have been using it I can do my normal times I get up and move around and I do not get numb anymore so I am not constantly shifting around and inflaming my adomen. Once I got really involved in work and did not take a break or get up for almost 4 hours and I noticed I was getting numb but if I take my normal breaks it seems to be working great.

I have had chronic lower back pain for 25 years. It is especially bad when I’m sitting. This cushion relieved almost all of the pain while sitting. I’ve bought a few of them to use in different situations.

I got this cushion for my desk chair because my sits bones were digging into the chair. I wanted a cushion that wasn’t too thick because then it would dig into the back of my thighs and cut off the circulation.

This cushion is working great for me. It’s soft enough to not dig into my legs and has enough cushion for my rear end. I also like that it’s not a U shape but covers the entire seat of the chair.

I bought this for my Wife’s easy chair, as the care home only provides one, and it is in her wheelchair, so the new one stays permanently in her armchair.

I like this item, and have used them in the past, but I wanted 14 X 15 not 14 X 18! this will not work well on all of my chairs. I guess I should have paid more attention to the Assembled Product Dimensions rather than just “size”.

Nothing wrong with the item – just not convinced that this cushion is the best match for the person and problem. It’s not as deep as the car seat which is a problem for a tall person. Haven’t completely decided whether it’s a ‘keeper’ or not.

it’s great for a small person, unfortunately I’m large person and my bottom hung over and caused pitch nerves thru legs. i should hsve read the measurements (DUH) lol!! overall it’s nice and comfortable for small and average person.

The cushion provides relief from pressure on the tailbone. It is easily transported from chair to chair and to restaurants, etc. away from home. It has allowed my husband to go out to eat, which he has been unable to do because of the pain from sitting on hard or firm seats.

He considers it life-improving.

Although upon receipt this “cushion” felt anything BUT “cushy”, its design must be precisely ergonomically constructed as my dad put it on his seat and R-A-V-E-D about how much it helped his low back pain from the get-go! Other great features is that it is machine washable and has an anti-slip bottom.

I never thought of looking at Best Buy. Next time i’m looking for something for my home, Best Buy will be my first stoo.
