20 Best Seasoning For Steamed Broccoli (2023 Updated)

This is a staple in my kitchen, and since my Polish husband introduced me to it some fifteen years ago, I’d be lost without it, though I do make it a point to source the Vegeta that does NOT contain MSG.

This is wonderful for seasoning most soups, and a lot of other savory foods besides, and I use it in place of salt, as it additionally adds the flavors from the many different vegetables it contains; hence the name – Vegeta.

I’ve used it in rice, beans, stews, casseroles, bone broth, and probably a lot more that I’m forgetting at the moment. I find that it adds a depth of flavor that is simply absent without it. Keep in mind that, since salt is a primary ingredient, you’ll want to add a little at a time the first few times you use it, until you get a feel for its potency.

Spice is highly recommended for soups, stews, meats,vegetables, dips, ect. Adds a great flavor to marinate meat in. Can be a little salty so use sparingly. Soups do best to add a bit more at the end.

The labeling was a bit confusing. The salt content seemed moderate but when you peeled off the English label, the original label shows a very high salt content

I have been enjoying Old Bay seasoning all of my life, even as a toddler. It still tastes great on just about anything you can imagine sprinkling it on. But the new plastic can is HORRIBLE! The lid will not stay closed and I have to use a strip of duct tape to keep it closed.

That should never happen. Additionally, I dropped the plastic piece of junk from the spice cabinet accidentally and the corner of it cracked. This would not have happened with the metal can! Dented, but not busted.

Also, plastic isn’t environmentally friendly. I don’t understand why companies try to “fix” what isn’t broken.

I expected a BIGGER container. But. as POTENT as this stuff is I can see why smaller packaging makes sense. While low in sodium. it has a very salty taste to it. to me, a good thing. Incredible flavor strength for the amount used.

And the flavor is WONDERFUL! You won’t be disappointed trying this. It will become something I ALWAYS have on hand from now on.

This is the best mixture of spices in the whole world. It is salty and gives food such a great herbal taste. I cant imagine a meal without this one. I have used it for my whole life and I will use it for the rest of my life.

Vegeta is the perfect ingredient to heighten almost any savoury dish! I use it in soups, with meat dishes, pasta and casseroles. It gives your meal a nice flavour and isn’t over powering.

Great addition to fish and shrimp! We use this when we sauté seafood on the stovetop. The mix has the right amount of heat to add just a little kick. The flavor wows your tastebuds with paprika, oregano, etc.

Been using it for years! I love it. Its much cheaper to buy this large size as opposed to the little one in the stores. It is 7$ for the little one and I usually go through that in one use.

This is one of my “Go To” blackened seasoning brands. Gives the perfect kick without being too salty. I will definitely buy again. The value for a container this size is perfect.

This kale powder is a game-changer in my use of kale. First, my experiences with preparing kale have turned out poorly. Second, even if I learned how to fix the stuff, the effort required to make it edible would cause me to use it sparingly.

And yet, kale is essential to my diet, as its nutrients have been recommended by my eye doctor to stave off macular degeneration. I saw this powder as a potential workaround to my laziness. The powder tastes really good! It’s not cooked, so it contains all of the fiber and nutrients of the original plant.

There are no filters, the kale is organic, and they test for heavy metals to keep the product safe for frequent use. I am sprinkling it in omelettes, making smoothies, and adding it to salads. I’d like to note that a reviewer who seems to have an axe to grind points out that the powder costs a dollar a scoop.

Well, a scoop equals a cup of kale, and where I live, a cup of fresh kale costs more than a dollar. Add in the labor and the risk of having to dump what I cook in the garbage, and this kale comes out at a very reasonable price.

In many ways I am delighted to have discovered Koyah. Intellectually, I feel great about the products and how wonderful to have exceptional food on hand if there should be an emergency! There have been several times when I ran out of a fresh vegetable but no problem – Koyah to the rescue! I very much enjoy the taste of the various vegetables and fruits but I have selected Banana as my top choice because it surprised me.

Man, it was delicious. I had it in unsweetened coconut milk- yogurt. So do Recommend these products? YES!!!!!.

SO. Koyah sells 15 (medium? small?) beets for $38. Is anyone paying attention?? And the lemon powder says one scoop is one “wedge” of lemon. which is likely 1/8 of a lemon. and there are 80 scoops in the container.

so 80 divided by 8 equals 10 lemons for $29. Three dollars per lemon!! 🥵 I am just shocked by what we are ACTUALLY affording when we buy from this company. The amount of food (nutrition) we get for the amount of money we spend is insanely low.

I am so pleased to add this powder to enhance the nutritional value of the smoothies on my whole-foods-plant-based diet. Thank you!

If you are looking to make a quick and easy beef and broccoli dish, this is for you!! It was my first time using this and My family and I loved it. You will need to add some of your own seasonings and spices to kick up the flavor a bit.

But overall it’s pretty good!.

Love, love, love this for beef and broccoli! It is a bit hard to cook in a skillet but with a wok it works amazingly! Perfect amount of flavor! Pairs great with white rice too!

I bought this a while ago thinking it would be an easy and tasty meal but I did not like the flavor at all. It tasted very fake and like chemicals. You would be better off just using your own spices and sauces.

I will not be buying it again.

I received a package of McCormick Grill Mates Garlic, Herb & Wine Marinade mix as part of a BzzAgent campaign to try and give my honest review. I decided to make Ranch sheet pan pork chops but substituted this marinade for the ranch.

It was a definite hit! These pan pork chops made with this marinade mix was so delicious! The garlic, herb and wine added such a wonderful aroma and very savory. We loved it so much that I want to try it with other recipes too.

I really enjoy grilling and the one thing that helps knock out that charred charcoal flavor is a good marinade. I was really interested in trying Grill Mates® Garlic, Herb & Wine Marinade Mix. I followed the directions.

One packet wasn’t a whole lot, so it didn’t come out all that great on an entire family’s worth of meat for dinner. I definitely would recommend more than one packet if you cook a lot at once. That being said, I could taste it but I couldn’t really tell what the flavors were.

I like to be able to taste the different herbs and sauces that I put on when I grill. Otherwise, it just feels like a waste. So, it’s very mild. It might be great for someone, just not my family.

I came home and didn’t have any idea what I was going to do, but I have been wanting to try the McCormick Garlic, Herb & Wine marinade mix. I put a frozen chicken breast in the InstantPot with the Garlic, Herb & Wine marinade mix over it and made some jasmine rice on the side.

When I sat down and tried it I was blown away by how amazing the flavors were. They were absolutely perfect! It was so good I started immediately wanting to buy some more of this marinade and experiment with different meats, especially shrimp next time.

I met Dan while grabbing a bite after having a fish fry for a shelter in downtown Louisville, Kentucky. He introduced himself and his product to myself and a friend. We both reside in Columbus, Ohio and are members of a fishing society who catch fish and feed those in need from our catch.

I have used Johnnys seafood seasoning for more than 40 yrs. as long as its still available I will never use anything else. I have used this seasoning on seafood I served to people who dont like seafood especially fish and the response has always been This is the best meal I have ever eaten.

I have used this Italian seasoning for years for great Italian pasta dishes. Its affordable and has great blend of herbs spices to step tomato sauce recipes. For beginner or humble home cooks I recommend this Italian herb blend for your pasta and pizza dishes!.

I love this little spice mix! It has basil, thyme, rosemary, sage, oregano and tarragon to name a few! Super flavourful and packs a punch. I’ve purchased this many times, due to is being super affordable.

It says for seafood but it goes on veges, salad, potatoes, anything you would put very good season salt on. I use it on almost everything.

Psyllium is an amazing fibre supplement and will really help you clean out your insides. The taste is. not great. Imagine gritty muddy water and you’re close. As such I’ve found the best way to take it is just to run the tap into a glass and mix it up very thoroughly quickly with a spoon (it turns into a gel when mixed with water) and then down that bad boy as fast as possible before you taste it.

Make sure you drink plenty of fluids after consuming it and all being well after it’s worked its magic you will have a very satisfying visit to the toilet after which you may well feel like a new man who can achieve anything he sets his mind to.

The benefits of a high fibre diet are numerous from reduced risk of bowl cancer and heart disease to improvements in mood due to increased beneficial microbes in the gut. Seriously google that and you’ll be amazed! I recommend that you supplement this a little each day if you can stomach it every day or just as a boost for when you’ve been eating a bit poorly and you need to feel better.

The fibre has a really beneficial effect in most situations where you feel rough even a big night on the booze and the like. In terms of dosage I would say a teaspoon a day if you want to supplement regularly or a heaped tablespoon if you just need to Mr Muscle your system for whatever reason (I’m not judging you bro).

Be warned though it can be TOO effective and so as with any supplement or drug try a little bit first to see how your body reacts before going HAM with it. If you overdo this you can run the risk of in extreme cases blocking your gut up entirely or choking to death (if it get stuck in your throat and thickens up).

These are pretty unlikely but they have been known to happen. A far more likely side effect of overdoing it is that you will be going about your business and then suddenly you will realize that “THE BABY’S COMING RIGHT NOW” with no time to get to the hospital as it were.

In this situation your best bet is to run into the nearest McDonald’s or pub and if there isn’t one of these establishments you are going to be having a really bad day. In summary: this is an excellent supplement for anyone who cares about health.

Even if you aren’t eating a crazy bodybuilders diet this is very useful to have both for day to day health and also for the occasional full colon cleanse. Combined with kale it’s super effective!.

This is one of many supplements I add to my smoothies. I feel much healthier for it. I’m more alert, fitter in general. Sleep better and have great hair skin and nails so something I’m doing , I’m doing right.

The smell of this powder is just awful! And it persists even when mixing in a smoothie etc, completely ruining it. So this powder is essentially useless for me. 🙁 I’ll just buy some frozen broccoli and throw in my smoothies.

I can’t tell you how much I love this product. It’s easy to use just mix with water and add to your beef in the crockpot. I don’t know what their secret is, but it is so incredibly delicious. I literally could put it in a bowl and eat it with a spoon no beef necessary.

The taste is incredible and it makes dinner easy.

I love this seasoning mix. While I wish they made a salt-free version for my hypertension, I’ve been omitting table salt and using this mix instead. I like the fresh zest you get with every bite. It’s lovely on scrambled eggs as advertised, but I’ve also added a tablespoon into mashed potatoes to give them a zing.

I really enjoy adding a teaspoon into my spaghetti to boost the flavor, especially if I’m making a vegetarian spaghetti. It’s even delicious sprinkled sparingly on top of pigs-in-the-blanket before they go into the oven.

I cannot express strongly enough how much I love this seasoning. There are TWO must have seasonings in my kitchen besides just basic salt and pepper. The Spice House Pepper Shallot Seasoning and this stuff.

Even when we are on a tight budget, I always make sure I have this on hand (thank God for flatpack free shipping). It is SOOOOO Flavorful! I add it to scrambled eggs, egg bakes, mashed potatoes, chicken noodle soup, chicken alfredo sauce (anything with a cream or white sauce), baked potatoes, homemade mac and cheese, salads (just sprinkle on the lettuce and veggies directly) homemade salad dressing.

it is FANTASTIC. It is a salty seasoning so just be careful that you don’t oversalt with other salt based seasonings and you will be good to go. I love this so much I can tend to be heavy handed with it and really have to reign myself in to avoid making things too salty.

My family loves this blend. everything bagels with cream cheese, scrambled eggs, potato salad and my personal favorite. “garlic bread. ” I lightly toast some good rustic bread first, spread with softened butter and dust the top with Lakeshore seasoning.

Wow! This is my new go to accompaniment to just about every dish now. It’s different than the strong garlic/basil/oregano taste you get with regular garlic bread (love that too. this is just a lighter, fresher version!).
