20 Best Sealer For Travertine Pavers (2023 Updated)

No where on the bottle does it say clean dry surface. I think that would be important info to have on the container. Like just include the word dry before the word surface. I went to the website to locate that info.

It might be common sense, but when dealing with showers how dry does it need to be? It was the only question I had when reading the directions.

We discovered 511 seal and enhance 2 years back and have used it yearly since. Our backyard has mostly slate surrounding the pool. When properly maintained, the 511 seal and enhance really brings out the beautiful colors of our slate.

We maintain our front walkway with the same sealant. This sealant doesn’t leave a white residue like the wet look sealants sold.

I had a flagstone sidewalk installed and wanted to seal it. I went to Home Depot and Lowes and found different brand sealants. I went home and researched and did not like the reviews of those products.

I did some research on my own and found this product. Ouch, yes it is expensive, but absolutely worth it!! I Love this stuff and the other reviews were the same. I used a cheap paint brush to apply it and that worked the best.

I have bought other sealant for my pavers and other jobs, will only buy this product now!.

Product has performed exactly as advertised. The 1st application dried so quickly that I was able start the second coat immediately after finishing the 1st. The pavers have a very nice clean semi-gloss appearance.

I used six 1-gal bottles to apply 2 sealant coats to a 600’sq patio. I’d buy this product again, the next time I have to power wash my patio.

I applied 2 coat 4″ brush application to 31 year old 16′ x 16′ brick patio paving stones, they have never been sealed before, they now look like new. Great Product. Used a brush instead of a tank sprayer, less waste of product by brushing.

Let me start by saying I’m 64 yr old female that has never sealed my pavers before this. My patio has been in approximately 15yrs and I have use the same sand from Lowe’s every other year after scraping and picking moss, grass and weeds for days in preparation of power washing and re-sanding.

Only to be disappointed over and over. I actually bought 4 bag of sand from Lowe’s this summer. On my way home from Lowe’s I thought ‘there must be a better product out by now’. That’s when a researched and found Dominator!! I returned the sand to Lowe’s and ordered Dominator.

I watched all the how-to videos a few times and ordered a stainless steel sprayer. I can’t tell you what a difference this product is. I just finished sealing the pavers 2 days ago with the Dominator High Gloss sealer and my patio looks the best it ever has (even when it was new)! I made the mistake of putting it on too thick in a small area of corners of some of the stones but only I would notice it.

I wish I had taken before and after pictures! As you’re walking from the backyard towards the patio, it sparkles like diamonds. I’m so happy I was torn when choosing the best gloss of sealer because I don’t really like ‘really shiny’.

I chose the high gloss and it’s perfect. Not too shiny but makes the stones glisten. So if a 64yr old female can do this, anyone can. I would wholeheartedly recommend this product.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!!!!!!! I bought the 5 gallon Dominator Sealer wet look/high gloss for my paver driveway. I did my paver driveway and waited 4 days after applying the sealer, until I parked my vehicles on the driveway.

During those 4 days it never rained, and was sunny in the high 80’s low 90’s. There are tire marks all over the driveway!! Even 7 days after applying the sealer, I’m still getting tire marks all over my paver driveway.

I tried getting the tire marks off, but the only way is to pressure clean the driveway so the entire sealer job was a complete waste of my time let alone the $300 I paid for the product. My driveway looks worse now after the sealer went on.

I should have just left it alone. Yes you’ll probably block this review. I don’t want any reimbursement or anything I just want people out there to realize that this product does not work. I am extremely upset with the outcome.

Tire marks all over my paver driveway looks terrible.

Application: Concrete slab driveway and adjoining pavers. Pros: Easy to apply with sprayer. Appears to have sealed the driveway from rain. Cons: Unless the surface is sprayed thoroughly across the entire surface, it does leave a color difference between areas coated more heavily and areas not covered heavily on concrete slab.

This is likely more apparent due to it not being pavers which have a more complex pattern of colors and textures unlike a uniform, slab like my application. However, given the limited quantity of the product and the cost, I didn’t have the option of ensuring a uniform coat unless I ordered more sealer.

I did order enough solution according to the online coverage calculator. Miscellaneous Comment: This variant (NG+) states ‘no gloss’ and ‘wet look’. I found that for my application, it did show no gloss but also didn’t give it a ‘wet look’ either.

The surface has a dry look other than the lighter and darker looking areas due to the coverage issue described above on my driveway. The pavers I sprayed had a uniform look but, also, did not have a ‘wet’ appearance.

Although it didn’t create the end finish I expected, it does would work better on pavers.

I have yet to use anything that’s really one step whether it be paint or something like this. It looks great with 2 coats, so make sure and get enough. You can tell that one coat will work but 2 makes it shine, somewhat a semi gloss to gloss look.

I used this on unsealed concrete floors that were polished to 400 grit, really brought the dept out. The back of the bottle should be pictured so when you get it and turn it around to read “clean with Trewax floor cleaner first” you won’t wish to have known to get that also.

I used TSP instead to clean my floors. I had windows open with a fan blowing through one to exhaust the fumes while applying. Fumes fade away completely after 2 or 3 days.

After researching found this was a good brand. I have not used it yet because my bathroom has not been finished yet.

I bought hand made saltillo tile out of Mexico. This product has been the only sealer/wax that has worked to protect it. The rest are poor contenders.

Resealing my travertine pool deck. First off, the material coverage is on the low, low end of what is claimed. Applied with a pump sprayer then back-rolling. I would never know it goes on white because if I applied it that heavily as in the video, the coverage rate would be minimal.

Product was fully dry, no tackiness or anything within a couple of hours. Honestly can not tell any difference between the completed area vs the still uncoated area. Of course, now I am out of product and will need to buy more to finish.

I used an earlier version about 5 years ago which left a visible satin sheen. When the sheen was gone, it was time to reseal. With this version, I’ll never know.

The patio sealer project turned out pretty good. The worst part is trying to get it clean. The application with a hand sprayer and roller went pretty easy. The main problem with the stone is it flakes off due to weather and wear (patio is 3 yrs.

old). Hopefully the sealer will help prevent that. It has more color and sheen. I will add another coat next year.

I live in coastal Florida and have a 8 year old travertine pool deck. The deck was sealed professionally when it was new and again about 4 years ago. Since then it has become faded from the sun and many pressure washings.

This time I decided to reseal the deck myself. After some research I decided on Black Diamond Dominator Stone + Low Gloss Sealer. I followed the instruction provided and application was easy. My pool deck is about 2000 sq.

ft. I power washed the deck on Friday and applied the product on Saturday. Application took about 4 hours. The product went on white and dried clear. It was dry enough to walk on in 24 hours. I used about 3 gallons of product.

My pool deck looks great, almost like new. I recommend this product to any DIY’er. All you have to do is read the instructions, watch the video and do what they say. My next project is my paver driveway (@ 4,000 sq ft).

I have already purchased Black Diamond Dominator Paver Sealer for this. I am confident that the process and results will be similar.

Good product. Does what it says. Easy instructions. Not yet sure how durable it is. I have applied three coats to our stone steps and it certainly “toned” the steps to a “wet look” look. But they are already showing signs of fading back to original look after just 4 weeks and no foot traffic on them.

I will redcoat them when warmer weather allows and keep them under review.

First coat dried dull and powdery. Second coat also dull and powdery! Stones were dry, clean and oil free. There’s no reason why it should of done this! My friend recommended this product, said it was awesome.

This was not my experience.

Used this on the field stone behind our wood burning stove. This made the stones look very detailed. Went on easy, no real smell. Looks great!!!

Easy to apply. My concrete driveway was plain, no covering such as paint etc. However, Aqua 11 does not live up to it’s beading claims. I had my driveway professionally power washed and let dry. Shook bottle as directed to assure Aqua was mixed properly.

Applied Aqua X11 as directed. Let it dry. Surface temp was as recommended. No rain for 4 plus days. The end result is my driveway does not bead at all anywhere. I do not think this product sealed the concrete.

I think I wasted $200. 00 for the 5 gallon container.

Easy to apply. I bought 2 gallons because a gallon is supposed to cover 600sqft. I have roughly 460sqft. The first gallon I applied I don’t think it was shaken enough because the Aqua X never appeared milky when I applied it to my colored concrete squares.

My concrete squares dried immediately. My husband didn’t shake the 2nd gallon at all, even though it is clearly marked on the cap. So again it didn’t appear milky. Since the squares are colored I could still tell where I had spared so it wasn’t a problem.

I was able to cover the area complete three times with both gallons. It has been 2 weeks since I applied the Aqua-X 11 to the concrete and the squares look great. I happened to spill a drink and the liquid beaded up and was easily wiped up.

Also because the squares are colored the Aqua-X 11 makes them look wet, but not a shiny wet. Which my husband and I like. We have some older concrete squares and once we clean them we plan on ordering more Aqua-X 11 to use on them just to help them stay clean.

So far we are very happy.

The concrete contractor who built my 2000 sq. ft. basement failed to install proper drainage and lay heavy mil plastic sheeting under the floor. For 20 years I had to run 2 Dehumidifiers to prevent a musty smell in the basement.

I had tried to seal the floor with epoxy paint with poor results. After the original house burned, I had a sand blasting company remove all previous floor coatings when they blasted the basement walls to remove the smoke & soot.

I did extensive online research and read many reviews before calling Ghost Shield. I spoke with Lou who guided me to tape a 3′ X 3′ square of plastic sheet to the floor. After 24-48 hours the area under the sheet showed visibly damp concrete.

This is a test to verify moisture in the concrete. Because of the age of my concrete Lou recommended I use a primer, densifier& hardener the LIthi-Tek 4500 before sealing with Siloxa-Tek 8500. I followed his product advice and application instructions for both products.

I worked the floor in 10′ X 10′ sections. I was careful not to let the surface dry completely before applying the second coat. Lou instructed me to allow 5 days cure time before sealing with the 8500.

I allowed a full 10 days for the primer Densifier Hardener to cure before applying the sealer. The basement floor is carpeted and I no longer need to run a dehumidifier. 3-1/2 years after sealing the floor, I had a freeze proof faucet leak.

It was not discovered for about three days. A corner of the carpeted floor was saturated. We pulled up the carpet and removed the pad. After using a shop vac to remove the standing water the Ghost Shield treated concrete surface was completely dry in less than 10 minutes.

I am very happy with the performance of this product. And recommend Ghost Shield for any masonry sealing.

I recently received and applied Siloxa-Tek 8505 to my driveway, walkway, and front porch. The driveway and walkway consist of one-year old concrete. The porch was redone a few months ago with pavers.

I wanted to protect my investment by giving these new surfaces a good seal. After considering many different products, I chose Ghostshield due to its 40% actives formula and strong reviews. Due to Ghostsheild’s formulation, I anticipate the product will be more effective and last longer than other brands that use different formulations with less active material.

Total coverage for the project was about 1250 square feet. It took a little less than 10 gallons to give the concrete surfaces two coats and the paver surface (about 110 square feet) several coats. The amount of material used was right in line with the guidance from Ghostshield.

The application was straightforward. I used a hand pump sprayer and followed up with a push broom to even out the material as I applied it. Since applying the Siloxa-Tek we have had a couple of rainstorms.

Water beads up nicely. The 8505 product is formulated to resist water, salt, and oil. I have not had it on long enough to assess its effectiveness with salt and oil, but so far I am very pleased with the water resistance.

I sealed my 46’x40′ concrete parking pad/driveway using 2 gallons of the concentrated sealant. My concrete pad is 3 years old and was previously sealed as it was poared to assist with curing but has not been touched since.

I pressure washed the pad, sealed all of the expansion cracks the next day, and applied the sealant two days after washing. I mixed each gallon of the product with 4 gallons of distilled water, as per the instructions, and applied it with a garden sprayer in two different directions, as per the instructions.

The sealant appeared to be obsorbed by the concrete within hours leaving no indication that anything had been applied. After 24 hours, we started using the pad for parking again. We had our first rain 4 days later and all the water beaded up as advertised.

Only time will tell how long it lasts but so far, I am extremely pleased with the results. This is the best sealing product I’ve ever used.

My contractor who first installed my slate floor in the kitchen recommended Miracle Sealants 511 Porous Plus Sealer ProfessionalS Choice. -V168* After 16 years the floor looks brand new! It’s not cheap, but the sealer is guaranteed to last 20 years.

And it applies easily with a white washcloth, which I find lets you do it very evenly. Though the instructions say they sell an applicator. If you want to only seal your floor every 20 years, invest extra money for a professional grade sealer.

I have been very impressed with this product. I have ceramic tile on my porch and when I bought the place it was as slick as ice with skis, when it rained. The first summer I bought and applied this stuff it did a really good job keeping it safe to walk on.

I doubled the application amount this year and now its safe regardless of the weather. Im very happy with this product and would highly recommend it to others!.

Thought the sealer would seal the stone not change it surface. To my surprise it transformed the stone from polished to honed… Now it looks more likely to receive a stain than ever. I would like to know how to return the stone (which is brand new) to its original shine.

I bought a sample bottle and did a test on a single paver. Products like this take 3-6 months to properly evaluate since they are affected by sun and time but after only 3 days I am not impressed. The percent solids dissolved in the liquid seems to be much lower than competitive products that I have used and I would NOT buy that product to seal my pool pavers.

After much research I decided to give this product a try on my new concrete driveway. To my delight it was as advertised. Simple prep and easy to apply! I couldn’t be more happy with the results. All I was wanting was protection from the elements without compromising the finish of the concrete.

I will be using this product in the future. Well worth the money!.

Been using this product for a number of years. Really effective and when the low sheen goes away, we take that as the sign to add another coat. Literally took minutes to apply with roller to porch and stairs.

Once this applied this works great, it literally seals the countertop from all kinds of stains. I can see the difference within one week of the usage. This spray can be used for granite, marble and other types of natural stone surfaces.

I am hoping that the coating with last long to provide adequate protection. It is safe to use on the food surfaces as these are free from bad chemicals and is safe for the entire family’s health. Before using the sealer you need to ensure that the surface is properly cleaned and if this is not done, then the sealer will not work properly.

After the sealer, the surfaces need to be polished to complete the entire protection process and ensure that surfaces will last longer without any marks or stains. Generally, three coatings are enough to provide adequate protection and need to have a 20 mins gap between each coat application.

These coatings provide shine in addition to the protection. I am pleased with this product. Highly recommend.

I have just completed applying Foundation Armor AR350 Wet Look Concrete Sealer and it looks great. My driveway needed a reseal since it was originally done 2 years ago. I had noticed that the look had become dull and rain didn’t run off as it had.

I found Foundation Armor online and decided to try their product. With free shipping here on Walmart it was a easy decision. I bought the 5 gallon and it arrived in a few days. Application seemed easy.

I used a hand pump sprayer to give a quick coat of an area and then I also used a roller on an extension handle to smooth it all and make sure the product was applied to all areas. Of course I had cleaned the driveway with a water hose down a day before making sure the concrete clean and dry and also did a hand sweep before application.

Now my stamped concrete driveway looks new again and rain quickly runs off. I’ll be using Foundation Armor again. A neighbor has already asked about it so it looks like a good product will be sold again.

Extremely pleased with AR350. Used this for my pool patio travertine tiles and fire pit floor with pavers, and I am extremely pleased with the finish. Two years ago I had someone seal the same areas with another, cheaper product, and it turned out OK.

This year, after doing some research I came across the AR350 and after reading the reviews, decided to give it a try. It was a more expensive, but the finish between the two products is significant. AR350 really brought back the tiles’ original finish and gives it that wet look.

The extra cost is well worth the outcome. Unfortunately I didn’t take a “before” photo to be able to show a before and after comparison, but if I did, my photos would look similar to those on Foundation Armor’s website.

This time I did it myself. It’s easy to apply, and I simply followed the directions. I used a paint brush for some of the edges and a roller for the rest. It was just like painting a wall. I was cautious around the actual pool edges and I could see some splatter getting into the pool, but I trust the filter will take care of that.

I highly recommend AR350 for the superior finish. You can get a cheaper sealer, but I can say from experience, the AR350 is a superior product. And shipping is super fast.

I researched the HELL out of this product. I have an old exposed aggregate concrete pool deck – it was tired looking and rough to walk on. I ground the whole thing down with THREE 7″ carbide wheels. Brutal work.

The deck was prepared and I decided on Armor AR350 for it’s solvent-based makeup and MEDIUM gloss sheen. The pool is salt, and IO live in Tucson so whatever I bought it had to be the best. My research led me to AR350.

I bought 5 gallons as I have a 500 sq ft job and it requires two coats of sealer. It was a hot spell in Tucson and I had to wait well past sundown to get the surfaced temp os the deck below 85 degrees.

(I found a cheap IR thermometer for $11 at Harbor freight). I cut it in first, then rolled it with a roller. (Didn’t use a sprayer). Smelled pretty strong – I wore a volatile organic mask and couldn’t smell it.

Easy to apply – just roll it on and work any puddles out with the roller. Easy Peasy. Cleanup with Xylene. Waited 24 hours to the next sunset and on went 2nd coat. A little tougher this time because It was hard to see old versus new product (remember I’m working at night with a headlight – But I was just thorough.

Looks great – Medium sheen – Not slippery (yours may be – remember that I had ROUGH exposed aggregate). Water beads up and stays beaded. Many complements. I recommended highly. I had no contact with the MFG cause I followed the directions.

NOTE: A lot of negative reviews on a lot of products turning milky. That is moisture, I’m sure of it. There is no moisture in Tucson, I assure you. 10-18% humidity. Go ahead and jump, friend – If you’re looking for a long-lasting solvent based medium sheen concrete sealer – this is the stuff!.

Great product, youd never know you had used hairspray. Brushes out easily & doesnt leave a sticky residue.

Easy to allow product. Cured quickly and provide a good seal. We put two coats on to ensure coverage. Highly recommended.

Aqua Sealer is the best grout sealer I could find. simple to apply and long lasting protection of our floor grout used on 1200 SF of tile

We haven’t sealed our granite counter top in many years, and it was long overdue (water was soaking into it). I used the Weiman Granite Cleaner first to prep the granite, and then applied two coats of the Weiman Granite Sealer.

It was very easy to apply – just spray generously, let sit for five minutes, then rub off excess with a cloth. Wait 4-6 hours and repeat with a second coat, and allow everything to fully dry for 24 hours.

Water now beads nicely on top of the counter, and I’m happy with the sealant. We did do a test spot first to make sure there was no adverse reaction – we have a lighter colored granite, and didn’t experience any change in color or tone.

Would use again, and would recommend.

A friend of mine is adding a new two-car garage to his house. I told him about the concrete sealer and how I had used it when I built my house years ago. The floor still looked pristine when I sold it over 12 years later.

I got it as a gift for him to use when the floor is poured in two weeks.

I’m using it to seal home made low temperature fired pottery. It takes several coats on a polished piece, but so far so good. (Polishing the surface of the clay before firing it is also important on how well it seals.

I don’t think I’d expect it to seal more porous terracotta.

I used this at full strength as Water Glass, gluing a furnace combustion chamber into place and coating the whole chamber to give it better strength. It is a good value, and I will use the rest to seal some of my concrete.
