This monitor is good. However the monitor does not xontain g-sync hardware. Only sports a g-sync sticker. Be sure you have a 1000 series nvidia card or newer if you expect g-sync to work. It has 3 inputs.

2x HDMI and 1 DP. The monitor is not height adjustable like the pro series monitors. Nor does it rotate. The monitor can auto detect source ( if you want it to).

Bought it for my son’s birthday. Just opened this today. Set up is straightforward. Quality feel. Image quality seems excellent. Great value. Very impressed. Will be needing a monitor for myself at some point.

Would buy again.

Using this gaming monitor for business purposes. so -may not be a helpful review for the gamers out there. However, the color, contrast, black pixel, light balance, back lighting and sharpness all contribute to an excellent presentation when viewing documents, graphics and video on this monitor.

I’ve been using this monitor for close to three weeks now, and as other users have shared, it’s a wonderful affordable 4k monitor. I was looking for an 4K HDR monitor that was either IPS or VA to use for both my PS4 as well as my PC for gaming and movie/TV viewing, and to use as my 2nd monitor.

I ended up going with this one based on good reviews and feedback online. I’m happy to report this fulfilled all my expectations. Playing PS4 games on this monitor is a dream, and watching 4K content looks amazing on this monitor.

That being said, when using this on my PC, I have noticed ever since I had connected this second monitor, I would intermittent crashes, and the computer would just reboot, no blue screen or error messages.

I checked the Events Viewer and the only critical error would be Kernel-Power issue, Event ID 41. Thinking this was a power related issue based on the Power kernel error, I did extensive testing such as 1 hour stress tests with OCCT , heavy gaming for extended periods, watching movies, etc.

But I could not replicate this crash and reboot when I wanted it to happen. The PC would just crash at random without rhyme or reason. Tried different solutions such as plugging the power supply directly to the wall outlet instead of the surge protector, uninstalled and reinstalled all my video card and sound card drivers thinking it was conflicts with drivers, but no, the crash and reboot still kept happening despite all that.

After Googling extensively for a solution for weeks, I finally narrowed down the problem to the DisplayPort cable that came included with the monitor. Just Google “The DisplayPort Pin 20 Problem” to understand the underlying issue.

But the jist of it is, most if not all Monitor manufacturers, even one as reputable as ASUS, sometimes still include very generic and sub-par quality Displayport cables with the 20 PIN still “live”. Once I changed the included DP cable for a higher quality one from Cable Matters (Ivanky is also a good brand which I’m using on my LG monitor), the crashes went away and the Kernel-Power issue never happened again.

So don’t cheap out on the DisplayPort cable (looking at you, ASUS!), it actually matters! I’m unsure if there is an issue with HDMI, but seeing as the HDMI doesn’t have a “20 pin issue” like Displayport cables do, I’m fairly certain it’s safe if you just use HDMI instead.

I`m by no means a pro gamer and thus prefer the top visual graphics that my console/PC can output so I`ve looked at nearly all the 4K 60FPS monitors out there and returned my fair share to which I`ve finally found the perfect monitor here with ASUS for what I`ve been looking for! Firstly, the aesthetics of this monitor instantly set it at the top of the pack as the ASUS quality shines instantly upon just setting the monitor up.

There is definitely some heft to it and the stand is probably the most sturdy I have tested out of all the monitors I`ve used. The solid base is much my preference over the wide feet that take up a large portion of my desk and ASUS ensured that the base was well made and sturdy since users would be adjusting the screen as it allows for nearly every orientation possible.

Then the other aspect that sets this monitor apart is how visually pleasing it is sitting on a desk as my desk is set up to expose the back of my monitors as mine is not simply pushed up against a wall so this was where this monitor really stood out among the rest as ASUS actually spent time on what the back of the monitor would look like! The aesthetics are not the only place this monitor excels as the actual performance is top-notch as well! I will say first that I am personally a fan of saturated colors and peak brightness and feel that most are to which this is why display model TVs at stores are always set to peak brightness so even if “professional” review sites may ding monitors for oversaturation and “unreal colors” you more than likely will prefer that setting to which I love what ASUS has done with this monitor in regards to this for it`s “Scenery Mode.

” However, there are numerous modes you can set the monitor in if you prefer standard or “Cinema Mode” and the unique aspect was that it had specific presets already for gaming including FPS and RPG versus the typical “Gaming” preset that nearly all other monitors have so this just shows that ASUS was aware that not all gaming is similar and that different game types benefit from different settings.

ASUS furthers this gaming component in that it includes various “GamePlus” aspects such as Crosshair, Timer, and FPS Counter. With most monitors in this range since they are similarly spec`d you won`t find much difference, but upon actually using this monitor you can definitely see the greater vibrance in the colors and even though it may only be 350 nits it definitely punches above its weight class in that category compared to its competitors in the same range.

Overall, I just can`t praise this monitor enough and after testing numerous 4k monitors and scouring Reddit and various other message boards I definitely have found my final monitor I plan on using going forward.

I would not hesitate to recommend this monitor to anyone as it fits every box in this price range and even well above it both in the visual aesthetics and actual performance.

This is a great monitor for the XSX or PS5. I didn’t have an issue the color settings out of the box, but I’m sure some will need to do some calibrations for their personal preferences. The picture for me was great and having HDR was an extreme plus.

It’s very well built and with a premium finish. The back is a nice addition if you want to have the back in area where it can be seen. Like others have said the stand does not allow for swivel (the model that ends in 50 does).

It also does not have built in speakers but you can connect headphones or and external audio source. The only things that I wish were different were the inputs being built into the underside of the monitor.

I feel like the weight of the cables will eventually damage the ports. The power cable is way too short as well, but that’s a design flaw on all new monitors of this caliber. Last thing is if you use a VESA mount, there’s a part that connects to the legs that will still be exposed.

It’s not a big deal but it does take away from the asthetic of the back. Even though it a has a couple of shortcomings its still a great monitor, especially if you can get it on sale.

First things first the looks and fit and finish. The bezels are very thin, almost near bezel less. When on you don’t really see the outer trim, in a matte finish that doesn’t give off any glare. The depth and thickness is very minimal, you can easily mount it and not have a stick out from the wall.

The bottom legs are adorned by a red trim along the length of the legs that support the monitors. The rear has has the same Red trim around the circular bezel and below the UltraGear logo. Not a log of monitors look good from the back, but this one does.

You have 1 DisplayPort and 2 HMDI, along with a slim Power connector. Overall the looks of the monitor is very premium, it is solid, and does not wobble, no flimsily plastic very high quality. Now the performance side, this was tested with both Nvidia, and AMD configurations for FreeSync and G-Sync.

Using a test bench with AMD Ryzen 5950x, 32GB Ram and Nvidia RTX 3080 and AMD 6900XT. Both some of the higher end offerings out there. The RTX G-Sync only works on the Display Port, and Freesync works with HDMI.

Both their respective software and drivers automatically detected the feature set and allowed me to enable Freesync or G-Sync very easily. Once enabled it was very noticeable in gaming performance. Tested from demanding games like Cyberpunk 2077 down to fast paced games like Fortnite and Warzone.

Performance wise they both worked flawlessly with the 165hz refresh rate and 1ms response time. Heavy games like Cyberpunk that dip with frame rate allowed for a very smooth gaming experience when going from 100 FPS down to 60-50 on heavy scenes but it was very hard to notice due to the G-Sync being enabled, it kept the gaming smooth and fast not a drop to the eye.

Games like Fortnite that are extremely fast paced allowed for a great smooth and seamless experience, no lag, no dips just fast. The built in cross hair also gave me an edge during hectic and fast paced matches.

The 1ms response time really does remove the ghosting and blur when the speed of the game gets heated. Every ounce of performance counts when you are playing competitively, and having 165hz and 1ms mbr gives you a read edge and can mean the difference.

Testing the HDR feature during gaming and movies was great! Once enabled windows allows for you take advantage of the deep dark blacks and vibrant color that really do pop! Games like Cyberpunk with dark and gritty scenes really take a new shape with easy to see smog, shadows and near glow of signs.

It really does make a difference. When watching Movies with HDR on it allows for a more immersive experience with colors and really do shine through allowed me to get into the movie watching experience with is rarely done on a computer monitor.

Also the website does not mention G-Sync capability but it does work right out of the box, no issues what so ever enabling it. Windows and Nvidia drivers recognize the feature and allow you to toggle it, likewise with the AMD adrenaline software it had similar experience with a pop up telling you that the Freesync feature was available, there was no difference in performance when it came to gaming on AMD or Nvidia, both allowed for a very smooth and no drop in performance gaming associated with the refresh rate features.

Over all I would highly recommend this monitor to any serious gamer looking for the best 1440p QHD monitor with 165hz 1ms response time for the upper hand in competitive gaming! hit it where counts, you will not be disappointed with this one.

Performance and looks to match.

PROS: – BIG! – High refresh rate – AMD FreeSync – 1ms response time – Colors look great CONS: – Wish it was brighter – HEAVY! == SETUP == The X32 is big and HEAVY. When you open the box, the instructions are to keep the front of the display face-down in the Styrofoam packaging while you attach the stand.

I can’t stress enough how much easier it is to install this way, the monitor is VERY heavy and awkward to maneuver (unless you have someone to help you). There is an audio-out, if you want to connect your headphones/speakers.

For video, you have two connection options: HDMI (2. 0) and DisplayPort (1. 4). You can use either to take advantage of FreeSync. One of my biggest complaints became clear right away: the display isn’t very bright.

HP’s spec page lists the X32 with a max brightness of 400 nits. It’s not a deal-breaker by any means, but it does make a difference depending on the lighting in your room/area. == DAILY USE == If you don’t work from home (or have a separate setup for work and play), this is amazing.

For gaming, having such a large display is awesome and really makes gaming more enjoyable and immersive. If you do work from home and want to use one monitor for BOTH work and play, you might find this monitor to be almost too big.

For work, I enjoy using apps/windows in split-screen to avoid feeling overwhelmed with small text. Back to gaming: this was a HUGE (pun intended) upgrade to my gaming experience. Image quality isn’t all that much sharper compared to my old FHD display.

The PPI for the X32 is comparable to a 23. 5″ FHD monitor. So, the size and amount of information/content you can view is the advantage. You can see more of the battlefield/map compared to before. Color accuracy is really good on the X32, MUCH better than my old display.

I don’t know how well this monitor will work for anything like video/image editing, but for gaming/videos it looks really good. As an AMD fan, FreeSync is the biggest reason I wanted this monitor. While I’m using the DisplayPort to connect my system, the manual says you can use the HDMI port as well for FreeSync.

To take advantage of the high-refresh rate and 1440p resolution, I would recommend that you have at least a 5700xt (I’m using a 5600xt, but I like playing older games). == BOTTOM LINE == If you’re tired of FHD gaming, but not ready for 4k, it’s time to upgrade for QHD.

While I would recommend this to anyone rocking an AMD card, the brightness might be an issue. If your local Best Buy has a display unit, you should really check it out. The size is great, the colors look fantastic, but you might need something brighter.

There are few certainties in technology. Fortunately for PC monitors bigger, better, higher resolution, faster response time, all while getting cheaper is one of them. Our tech dollars have never stretched as far as they do today.

This X32 HP monitor is in a word, **Awesome** , with near top of the line specs, latest and greatest display technology, wide-viewing angle (IPS panel so no hot spotting like direct view panels), big, bright, and colorful.

I used an ASUS gaming rig sporting an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 graphics card. This X32 monitor is a perfect match, Forza Horizon 5 (and FH4), and MSFS Flight Simulator offer silky smooth refresh rates with no screen tearing, plus bright and vibrant colors, what’s not to love? While some other monitors offer high pixel density at full 4k resolution, glossy bells and whistles, inky OLED blacks, more inputs, and/or speakers (usually mediocre), they also carry accompanying price tags far more than the budget priced HP X32 that maximizes “bang-for-the-buck”.

It was a fairly quick setup and works well. Absolutely stunning for daily use like office productivity apps, school or work, internet browsing and YouTube. Your gaming experience may or may not be improved over 1080p resolution monitors.

This ViewSonic runs at 2560×1440 (2K, WQHD) and in gaming mode requires both the graphics card and CPU power to push. Check your system specifications before you buy because it could actually look worse than a 1080p display.

That said, with enough horsepower, you can hit insane FPS – I maxed it out around 190+ in Battlefield V and it looked flawless. The reason for 4 stars is because it’s really heavy and takes up a fair amount of desk space.

Also, the OSD is a little confusing and RGB can be distracting – turned off the front lighting immediately because it illuminated my desk way too much. In summary, if you have the system to run it and enough desk space, it’s a good monitor off sale and an amazing deal on sale! Trust the ViewSonic brand – I’ve been using the them for over twenty years in both commercial and consumer environments, and have 5 installed in my home right now.

No failures in all that time and every other one was donated still functioning, some at the 8-year mark. My family loves ViewSonic.

I wanted to give high refresh gaming a try so I decided to step up (and down) from a 4k 60hz fixed 10-bit display to the ViewSonic Elite. I paired it with my Nvidia 3090ti and I figured this would give me 100+ fps everywhere which it did for the most part so that objective was achieved.

After setup and calibration I was not too pleased with the overall picture display. Even in games, the levels seemed off and most importantly 1440p @ 32″ resulted in a soft picture with dithering/pixelation on the edges of text when using Windows 10 Pro.

This isn’t a true 10-bit panel which readily showed its colors (so to speak) when viewing certain images and videos versus my true 10-bit 32″ panel. Banding was evident in many areas that were non-existent on my 10-bit panel and to me this was a deal breaker.

I do also have a 2560×1600 10-bit older display that has a much superior image quality and none of the banding or dithering effect I could see with the ViewSonic. The price ($700 at the time of this review and price paid) also was a bit high considering what you can get elsewhere for the same (or better) image quality.

In summary, if gaming is your primary focus and you do not care about a potential step down on color representation or a soft image for non-gaming work, this monitor is competent if a bit pricey for what it offers.

Out of the box, this monitor is good. After some settings tweaks, it’s amazing. I use it mostly for gaming and thought I’d make a review to maybe help others get the most of this awesome panel. 1. Make sure you have Windows set to 144 Hz framerate, otherwise you’ll still be looking at 60 fps tops.

The difference is very noticeable, but the 165 Hz overclock isn’t really worth doing imo. 2. Go into NVIDIA control panel and enable g sync 3. Install the ICM (color profile) for this monitor. If you go out to rtings.

com, they have one for this exact monitor. This will help color correct your monitor from which you can further tweak settings. 4. Tweak the monitor’s settings, preferably while watching something similar to what you’ll be using it for (i.

e. in game). Here are my settings now, although I’m still tweaking them: Game Mode tab -> Standard Mode -> Dark boost level 1, adaptive contrast off, blue light filter 0/100, response time OD ultra fast Display tab -> overclocking native, contrast 75/100, brightness (varies depending on time of day), saturation 105/200, 6 axis color (red 105/225, green 127/225, blue 127/125, cyan 127/225, magenta 105/225, yellow 115/225), color temperature native, input range full, gamma 2.

4, scaling mode fix aspect ratio The rest of the settings are discretional, but two of my other favorites are the crosshair option (add crosshairs to games that don’t have them) and the enable usb charging even while off.

All of my peripherals are wireless so I can’t make use of the pass through, but I can charge all 3 of them right off the monitor whether it’s off or on. Neat!.

I have been waiting for the 4K 144hz adaptive sync monitors for a very long time. When Nvidia announced that this cheaper version of the perfect allrounder monitor would gain GSync compatibility certification, I absolutely jumped for joy.

I spent a while pondering to purchase this one, or the ultimate big brother the Acer X27. Weighing up the pros and cons I decided to take a punt at thisGoodThe picture quality itself is flawless. Stunning colours out of the box, lush and vibrant with clarity and that 120Hz nonoc fluidity.

The GSync compatibility works like a charm, lower framerates are ironed out by the technology nicely. I already have an IPS Acer 4k monitor Acer H277HK and this knocks the socks off it. Attempting to use GSync compatible on that monitor would just result in constant black screens and an unplayable experience.

BadI have never had a monitor or television where the backlight bleed had annoyed me before this. Next to my other IPS Acer, the difference is night and day. This monitor has absolutely horrendous backlight bleeding in all four corners of the screen it protrudes out into the middle of the action in dark scenes like genital warts on perfectly sculpted genitalia.

Now, I may have an unlucky bad panel, but judging by the Stationery Packs Warehouse used returns on the listing already currently two, on a brand new in item Id say not. The monitor packaging looked slightly dubious to me, with additional sellotape untidily fixing the box closed I suspect a previous return, but am not 100.

I have attached images and a video not sure if it will show due to the large file size, comparing the monitor on lower than out of the box brightness vs my other Acer IPS with near FULL setting brightness cheaper Acer showing near perfect uniformity.

If the XV273KP monitor had the same backlight standard as my cheaper Acer, I would be giving this 5stars all around. But with this cost of a monitor, Acers QA simply need to be doing better.

Check all the boxes for a great ultrawide IPS display and best of all it is 1440p, 144hz with freesync and G-sync(compatible). Compared to its competitors, it is a great value pick in the ultrawide category.

It brightness could be better, so it might not be the best if you use it in a room with a lot of windows. It might also require some tweaking of color settings to get a more color accurate experience.

A great display for gaming and office work. Might not be the best for consuming content as some of the VA competitors for around the same price are better b/c of better contrast ratio. Side notes: -Monitor supports PbP and PiP, (no resolution adjustment) -Has a USB hub -There is a display widget the lets you adjust monitor’s settings from you computer instead of using buttons.

(Acer Display Widget) -Has speakers and an audio jack. -Stand is quite big and takes a lot of desk room. -Since monitor is not curved it has distorted pixel at the edges if you are sitting to close.

For those of you going from a cheap TN monitor with washed out colors and bad viewing angles then this might be an upgrade, if you already had a decent IPS with decent color and decent viewing angles then prepare to be let down.

I came from a decent monitor, not anything fancy, my main monitor was a 29UM60-P which is a LG 1080p Ultrawide. It doesn’t look much different than this monitor when you compare the numbers on paper but I would prefer to continue to use my smaller LG ultrawide than continue to use this thing.

I have only had it for a few days and I noticed from first use that the monitor looks awful when on your desktop or doing standard production work. Reading and looking at text on this is not a joy at all, the closer your text is to the middle the more bearable it is but forget about reading from the corners.

Its a blurry miserable experience that puts more strain on my eyes than I can tolerate for more than a few minutes at a time. I took some pictures so you can see the light bleed test and an all white screen to try and illustrate the viewing angles.

I would prefer to use the auxiliary monitor above it that has a TN display and washed out color specifically because it has a better viewing angle and doesn’t fade anywhere close to the amount this beast does in the corners.

Now I will say that I have no complaints when I did a bit of gaming on this. I only fired up Borderlands 3 and Dead Space but the experience was fine, usable. It’s really the desktop and text I have an issue with.

If you are dead set on getting this then be ready to adjust the settings and push this thing as far back on your desk as you can. The closer you are to this monitor the more noticeable the bad viewing angles get.

I suggest you save your money and either get a good 1080p monitor for less or prepare to spend a premium for a different 1440p Ultrawide. I have decided I will be returning this and going with a significantly more expensive LG 34GP83A-B ultrawide.

I don’t look forward to shipping this thing back and probably getting hit with restocking fees for something that I would consider unusable for more than a few minutes at a time. It was torture looking at this thing while typing this review.

The LG UltraGear 24GQ50F-B has exceeded all expectations I had when purchasing this monitor! I thought it would be the perfect intro gaming monitor- and I was right, but it has proven to be much more! The HD 1920×1080 display is perfect for gaming and consuming media.

The picture quality is crisp and bright, with a surprisingly sharp image quality. The 24 inch display size is perfect! I was worried that it would be small but it definitely is not. It is perfect to use for your at home office or gaming room.

It would also be perfect for buying two so you could have dual monitors! The 165 Hz refresh rate along with the 1 ms MBR keeps frames on any game seemless and smooth. It can be challenging to know which product to buy when starting a gaming setup as there are so many on the market.

It is especially hard when you are on a budget! The LG UltaGear 24GQ50F-B gaming monitor makes everything easy as it is the ultimate budget friendly complete gamer package. It will not disappoint!.

I really put this monitor to the test. I connected it to gaming PC, XBOX S, PS5, and even connected it to my satellite tv. Picture quality for regular TV was 72OP quality. Picture looked crisp. On PC, the experience was exactly what you need for next generation gaming.

This monitor is 165hz and that refresh rate makes a huge difference in avoiding any lag you might get when gaming online. My son hooked it up to his PS5. He had a 60Hz monitor and oftentimes blamed the internet connection on lag issues.

What a a difference this monitor made for his gaming online. It’s been about a week now, and I haven’t heard a single complaint about slow internet speed. There is only two ports to connect your devices.

I would have loved another HDMI port. It has a DPI port and an HDMI. I had to purchase a DPI to HDMI cable to connect more than one device at a time that uses HDMI. Probably a standard connection for a gaming monitor that is normally connected to a PC.

It surprises me that my LG TN panel from 2008 performs better than this. The viewing angles are about the same but this is a 32″ monitor so they have to be better than that. Monitor technology seems to be stuck in limbo.

On the store page it also says it has a 1ms response time when it actually has 0. 5 (for those who don’t know, it’s better than what it said). The 165hz refresh rate and the 0. 5ms response time has definitely made gaming easier, for example I was usually stuck around division 5 on fut and within less than a week I easily rose up to division 1.

The screen also doesn’t do that thing where if you view from a bit of an angle it makes the screen really dark and horrible to look at which is a big positive for me as I used it to watch tv in my bed which is quite a bit lower than the screen.

It’s adjustable options are seemingly limitless too so you could have it however you want. Also it has tons of screen settings so if it doesn’t look the way you want you can really play around to get it spot on.

The speakers are also a bonus Cons: My old screen was a little bit smaller and 1080p like this one so on my old one the pixels were smaller creating a better imagine than this one, this one I can kinda see the pixels which at first was a little irritating but this could just be because of the fact I was used to the other smaller screen, if you are coming from a bigger screen you will probably have the opposite effect and if you come from the same size you probably won’t see any difference but if you do come from a smaller screen you will need to get used to it a bit.

After little than a month I was completely used to it. Only other thing is that the space the foundation takes up is a little annoying but keep in mind that have a tiny desk so this shouldn’t be a problem for most people.

The specs of this monitor are similar to my current laptop (laptop has higher hz, slightly smaller screen), but the difference in the display is night and day. I was hoping for something I could use for gaming and work but this isn’t tenable.

I have updated all drivers, completed the display settings configuration and text configuration. I’ve followed a bunch of bloggs and youtubers to no avail. Will be returning this screen in the morning.

Also – I didn’t see this in the other reviews, but the speakers are practically useless, even at full volume. Don’t rely on them if you need something with audio. I gave it two stars, because if you’re using it for pure gaming it’s tolerable, but if you want it for anything else (including web browsing) it’s hard on the eyes.

Ghosting(?): I get very bad ghosting with this monitor. I got a replacement thinking it was defective but same issue. I’ve played games like COD, Forza and Dead by Daylight and turning or looking around, objects have a “ghost” trail following them.

Playing with monitor settings didn’t fix this either. I give it a 3 star because for the price, it’s a decent monitor, being able to get 165Hz and a 0. 5s response time is great. I haven’t had any other problems than those listed above.

If you’re on a budget then I would recommend this monitor, but if you have the money then look for something else.

I’ve purchased this Curved Monitor for my Windows computer. Connected by DVI. At first time, used DVI-D Single link cable and it won’t work. But when I changed cable to DVI-D Dual link cable, it works well.

This is mentioned but isn’t super clear in other reviews, so I’ll put it here. This display is either: 1. A 4k, 120 Hz monitor with 8 bit color and FreeSync over one DP cable 2. A 4k, 144 Hz monitor with 10 bit color and NO FreeSync over two DP cables I’m not sure why running 2 cables for the higher refresh rate & 10 bit color has to disable FreeSync, but it does.

With that out of the way, I do like this monitor. It’s definitely a bit chunkier than the 24″ 1080p panel I upgraded from, but it doesn’t look bad by any means and you get a beautiful 4k display for the extra size.

The display also packs some USB ports, which can allow you to get your PC off your desk depending on the situation. The onboard speakers sound decent for monitor speakers, though I already have other speakers so I only used them for about a minute.

The included monitor stand is actually really nice; I use an arm so I’m not using it, but I actually regretted taking the stand off a little bit because it’s quality. Very smoothly adjustable. I haven’t really used the onboard USB hub or anything yet, so I can’t speak too much to its quality.

Gaming on the monitor has been a great experience; I played a good bit of Overwatch on it and it looks beautiful at 4k. Also ran Skyrim, which similarly looks nice on the 27″ screen. I’ve just been using one DP cable for 120 Hz and FreeSync, and this has been working well for me so far.

4k 120 is still > 1080p 144. Also, mine arrived with the brightness all the way up, super high contrast, and set to “warm” colors. This might have just been because it was a refurb, but regardless, I turned brightness and contrast to 50 and set the colors back to “general” and that definitely improved my viewing experience significantly.

It looked sketch on the other settings. So if you get it and it looks wonky, check the OSD first.

Using for photo editing and gaming. Colors are pretty accurate, some say its strongly backlit but i have another 4k monitor form lg and its pretty same so cant complain. other than that 2x dp ports work for me and have 144hz, only thing why not 5 stars is that sometimes the screen flickers in the corner for some reason, might be windows and also the other screen is not turning on properly, seems like need to triple check all the settings.

but anyway i can recommend this screen if you have a good gpu in your pc.

While the graphics are beautiful with a good graphics card, the stand and ports are terribly designed. First of all, the stand is wobbly. And because the power cord is alittle heavy, the monitor leans crooked on that side.

I have to keep adjusting it to straighten it. That drives me crazy. The ports are so badly designed that I couldn’t find the camera port for the webcam to plug the cable in. I had to use a flashlight to find it.

The webcam port is next to the usb port, but it’s so dark, it looks like it’s not there. The cable for it looks like a printer cable. You must plug it in and then plug it to your pc, or the webcam won’t work.

There are no instructions for this anywhere in the manual or online. I contacted Acer and they said they will be putting up a guide for it. The buttons for the monitor are on the back of the monitor, so you cannot see them to use them, and I found the controls to be confusing.

There is an app to control some of the settings, you can download it with the driver at Acer’s site. And, you do need to download the driver or Windows won’t recognize the monitor in Device Settings.

The speakers are too quiet. You need a better set or a subwoofer. I had to use DFX sound booster, and that’s not enough. It only helped somewhat. Would I recommend this monitor. No, only if you can’t get something else that does beautiful graphics.

There are just too many negatives. The price is good for the graphics quality, but I wouldn’t buy this model again.

This monitor has great looking colors as expected from an IPS display (not the most accurate but that’s not expected at this price) and the 144hz refresh rate looks really smooth. It’s a big step up from the 75hz refresh rate my previous monitor had.

This monitor can get brighter and darker than the average IPS monitor. This monitor has HDR, but I wouldn’t recommend turning it on as it ruins the contrast, especially since IPS monitors don’t have the best contrast in general.

The included stand is pretty decent. It feels very sturdy and it isn’t difficult to adjust, though it would’ve been nicer if it could go lower and swivel around. One thing that caused me concern initially was the contrast level.

The blacks looked very bright, more like if they were dark gray, and it made the display look muted. Of course I don’t expect TV or VA display levels of contrast from an IPS display, but it looked pretty bad compared to my previous IPS monitor.

Both my old and this monitor are rated at the same 1000:1 contrast ratio, and even though there are always variances in the contrast levels between every monitor, it looked especially bad. However, after turning down the Black Stabilizer setting in the OSD (On-Screen Display), the contrast is good now and everything looks more vibrant.

One thing that is actually bad about the monitor is the audio jack. It sounds very low quality and tinny using both headphones and speakers. There is also a lot of idle noise when you aren’t listening to anything.

If it’s important for you to connect headphones/speakers to the monitor so you can use them for multiple PC/console/other devices, I don’t recommend getting this monitor. For me it was not too important, which is why I only docked a single star.

Overall, the monitor is great minus the audio capabilities.

I was able to pick this up on sale for $199 and so far so great! It’s an IPS monitor so the only drawback I have run into is that it has a little bit of “glow” in the corners or edges when viewing dark images in a a dark room.

I was concerned at first but it’s normal–to a degree–and varies in intensity by panel and I got over it because so far it hasn’t been anything egregious. As far as image quality, color, features, connections, etc.

this monitor has been great. I use it with my computer, and two gaming consoles with all three connections (2 HDMI, 1 Display Port) and it has been great and easy to switch over from one device to the other.

The monitor is height adjustable, tilts, a good size for a small to medium desk sitting at arms length. 1080P 144hz with VRR and Freesync is awesome for gaming and general computing. It’s a great monitor as long as you get a panel with not too much IPS glow or backlight bleed.

LG is a pretty solid brand so I hope it continues to be a great monitor going forward with no issues. Catch it on sale and it’s definitely a Best Buy!.

THE 32GN650-B is a a very bad VA panel. Whilst this monitor is good for gaming, nice and smooth, it should not be used for anything else. I do get flickering though? First of all, the contrast and sharpness are missing compared to other AMVA panels.

For example the pb328q is superb compared to this monitor. I have them side by side. AMVA colors and contrast is so superior. This monitor cannot get anywhere close to SRGB, Despite rtings saying it’s color accurate.

I cannot duplicate this at all. I get nowhere REMOTELY close. I have two other 32″ LG monitors here too. There is SOME good news. The 32QN650-B is not a gaming monitor, it only runs 75 hz. It is much more color correct than this VA panel.

The 32QN650-B also has acceptable contrast for an IPS monitor. Unfortunately it has some light bleed coming out from the bottom right corner. If you do not mind gaming at 75 hz, you should consider the 32QN650-B.

It’s affordable and colors are really precise. Then there’s the nano 32″ IPS monitor, which is extremely smooth for gaming 32GP83B-B. AUS. This monitor is extremely smooth for gaming and has no flicker.

The 32GP83B-B. AUS has spot on color accuracy, and the contrast is not bad at all compared to the AMVA panel. The downfall is that the 32GP83B-B. AUS has even more of a light bleed from the bottom right hand corner than the 32QN650-B.

So what’s the moral of the story here? You either stick to 75 MHz and get superb color accuracy, but if you want 144 MHz or 165 MHz AND have good color accuracy, you will have to accept the light bleed.

Since 2013 I have not yet found a 32″ monitor that can beat the Asus pb328q in color and contrast. I did want a higher refresh rate but I guess 75 MHz will have to do. For now I will keep the 32QN650-B, despite the light bleed.

Writing this as somebody who owns a gaming computer with two 27 inch 75hz IPS monitors already. I’ve seen/used gigabyte products before and I have never had a problem with them. I never doubted the spec sheet for this thing, but I was a bit worried about the physical build quality until I actually received it.

But geez this thing is built leagues better than my AOC monitors. I didn’t expect it to be so heavy, super sturdy frame with a lot of nice mass to it plus the solid metal base that barely let’s this thing move, it’s amazing.

Colors are super vibrant, 144hz IPS has made everything look so much better and smoother as it’s my first high refresh rate monitor. I won’t ever go back. I hesitated buying this thing because realistically I didn’t need it given what I had, but I purchased it as a quality of life thing and I am very happy about what I got.

For those who can’t bring themselves to buy it at $250, the lowest I’ve ever seen it clearanced was $220, (and I regret not buying it then) so there’s a slight chance it goes more on sale.

This is my new default monitor. I will be buying it again when my project is finished and can support a 3rd monitor. I needed to replace an older, 144Hz G-sync only monitor for my new AMD card and I was able to buy two of these for the price of one of those back in the day.

Blown away by the instant detection. My only real gripe was with the power brick. I’m used to having to use the standard PC power supply cable on almost everything. I’d rather prefer it to having a lighter and thinner monitor as it enables cross compatibility and less cables to do my setup.

The preinstalled monitor mount is a minor inconvenience as the packaging doesn’t need to be removed fully to uninstall and remove it. That prevents fingerprints during the eventual VESA installation.

Playing a game on it hasn’t given me any bad impressions thus far technical wise. Not a huge competitive gamer, but 144Hz is so much better than 60Hz regardless of the technical stats from my experience.

For the price, I think is well worth it. It is amazing, it works perfectly for the PS5. You may not be able to tell by the photos Ive shown but trust me, this is an incredible monitor. The visuals are crazy, you have to remember that some games will only allow you to play in certain graphics and certain Hz, It all depends on the game itself not the monitor.

For example Gta Online, Gran Turismo, Assassins Creed Valhalla are all playing 3840×2160 @ 60hz. While games like Call of duty Modern Warfare(2020 release) and MLB The Show 22 are running at 1920×1080 @ 120hz.

Overall I have no complaints and I think this is very well worth your money, I was hesitant at first because theres so many monitors out there to choose from and I decided to try out Gigabyte and I am not disappointed at all.

Always wanted an ultra wide. Seems to work fine. The picture does distort in the ultra wide mode. if you do not view in ultra wide the picture is fine but you lose 1/6 of the image to blank black space on each side.

In other words to view the image correctly you are forced to use only 2/3 of the available screen. Haven’t figured out how to use all of the features yet and Samsung support is terrible. When I called with about the problem the tech could not find the monitor on his list and said the model number was non-existent.

I told him I was looking at the monitor online while we were speaking but he still could not find it. Finally, he told me I had a business version of the monitor and since he was a gaming tech he could not help me.

Then he just hung up without giving me a chance to respond. For this reason, I certainly will not buy another Samsung product. After trying the many functions of the monitor for about an hour I was still unable to solve the problem on my own.

So for now I only use the ultra wide mode when distortion does not matter. I have always used multiple monitors in the past, Most recently two side by side 27″ screens. I am seriously thinking about going back to that configuration.

This monitor cost $1300. The two 27″ side by side were $400 a piece.

Coming from a setup with three identical monitors in an arc, this single monolith of a panel was a nice refreshing change from all the bezels. Games that supported the ultrawide format looked awesome providing you have the power to push all those pixels.

Among the other highlights is the bright HDR capabilities of the QLED back light, looking directly at the sun in some games gave an impressive need to squint that I’ve never experienced with a monitor before.

The resolution and frame rate at this price is good to see too, usually this format is 1080p or 60Hz as a compromise. I found motion smooth part in thanks to the addition of Freesync which is now compatible with Nvidia GPUs right out of the box by simply ticking it in the control panel.

The pendulum demo came up great and performance in game was great too where my GPU power fell short of the monitors native rate. Lastly one set of feet and a curve is a great space saver versus multiple displays.

There are some downsides to being on the cutting edge as this monitor is. I did not get along with this display when it came to managing my programs. Samsung include some software to divvy up the screen into sections but it will only allow maximised windows and is all round rubbish.

I bought and used Display Fusion but even that is not ideal, putting anything to full screen will do exactly what you dont want and vertical letterboxes the entire screen, Windows is just not ready for Super Ultrawide.

The QLED feature brings great HDR but it works in one-inch vertical strips down the entire screen, your cursor is a dead giveaway on a black screen and honestly it can be as jarring as very bad backlight bleed.

This monitor is ideal if you play a lot of games that benefit from the format, simulation games are perfect such as project cars 2, unprepared games like Subnautica just turn into a sub ocean stretched nightmare.

If you lean more towards being power user that also plays games like me then I dont think this is for you, I for one decided on two separate monitors instead. Mega-Nerds that want that huge POV in crispy 2k with blinding HDR at 120fps, go for it.

IšverstiShow in original languageBought this a week ago from BB when on sale for $399. I have a powerful gaming rig that can do 2k-4k but opted not to cause I like frame rates and smoothness and 1080p doesn’t bother me in the slightest.

Coming from LG 75hz IPS this monitor has not disappointed. I’m not even using Gsync or Pure XP mode and I have no screen tearing or stutters and the image is fantastic. Shooters now have amazing clarity just on default.

With PureXP on, it’s even sharper. Colors are fantastic, of course because of IPS panel. Some reviews claimed the HDR was weak in contrast and brightness but when I switched it on in Windows, no calibration yet and watched some HDR content, it was lit up like a Christmas tree.

Made my eyes hurt it’s so bright. Colors are extremely vivid. I had to tone it down from 50 to 30. Well built, doesn’t feel cheap. Nice metal stand with telescoping and 90 degree so you can play your pinball games or other arcade Mame games correctly.

Headset rest and mouse tether built in ( man I love this) and 2 optional side blinders come with it to block glare from windows if you need to use them. The monitors RGB also syncs to a Cooler Master case so you can mimic what you’ve set on your case if you like that sort of thing.

The input lag is non existent even if you set it at Standard. I’m EXTREMELY preceptive to input lag from gaming consoles and PC usage on bad monitors and tv’s and it is non perceivable from Standard to Fastest.

I Play Planetside 2 which requires high accuracy and reaction especially at medium to long distances and have no issues at all, even with Gsync enabled. If you want constant bias lighting from the rear rgb, you will have to either set it from the case software or download the monitors software as the presets in the monitors settings are limited to just on/off/breathing and strobe in specific colors.

plenty of inputs, HDMI 2. 0, Display Port 1. 4, earphone and actually decent 3w speakers that are above average for a monitor if you ever need back up. It’s really a great monitor. Be prepared to spend the first few hours playing games and playing with PureXp and then Gsync cause it’s a different wonderful experience using both.

One note if your not familiar with IPS monitors: They have the best color and image and are much more advanced with refresh rates and input lag than years ago compared to TN and VA panels but there is an IPS glow effect in the corners which is because of the angle of the pixels to give you that IPS image.

If you move your head in front of the corners, it’s not visible. You can only see this on a pure black screen if you are in total darkness, which is not how you use IPS monitors. For this, setting the brightness down masks it a lot as well as setting it on a n ECO mode, which I use 24/7.

There’s small, really small, lighting increase in a few spots on top and bottom in the same 2 places that is not a defect. If you move your angle to eye level with it, it’s not visible. It’s inherent of the tech and backlight bleed is in every form of panel tech.

You can only see it if the brightness is cranked. Under normal PC usage and in games, none of this appears and none of the image is washed out in those places. You can return monitors and try again but panel lottery with monitors and tv’s are a crap shoot.

Could be worse from what I’ve seen posted from other monitor manufacturers.

IšverstiShow in original languageI got this monitor after trying out the Samsung Odyssey G9 for about a month and then returning for a variety of reasons. This was the replacement I landed on and it’s great! Before the Odyssey G9, I was using a Dell S2716DGR, and this screen feels faster in its response rate and has much better image clarity and color.

I’ve used it at both 144Hz and 165Hz with zero issues. And wow, some of the colors just pop! The reds and blues are so red and blue! On my previous G9 monitor, I didn’t need to tweak the color or brightness setting even a little, so I just used the straight out of the box settings and was very happy.

For the ViewSonic out of the box, the color settings were decent but brightness was very dim. I was extremely disappointed actually, but then I discovered that “ECO” mode was on so brightness would only go up to 40.

I turned off ECO mode and eventually landed on 60 brightness as my favorite spot and it looked great. I also configured the panel R,G,B color settings (the color values, not the RGB LEDs on the outside of the monitor) from one of the review sites and paired that with the ViewSonic drivers and ICM profile (the ICM gets installed automatically with the drivers) in Windows 10.

This was my first IPS panel, and I was surprised by the amount of “silvering” that it had in comparison to any of my previous monitors. It was easy to deal with just by changing the viewing angle, but it was rather jarring at first.

That’s not an issue with this monitor, but rather with the IPS panel type that the monitor uses. The RGB effects on the exterior of the monitor are nice IMO. They light up behind and underneath the monitor giving a gentle glow on my desk underneath and behind the monitor.

You can turn it off or set it to rainbow, flashing, breathing, or static with just the monitor. Never tried the ViewSonic software. The stand looks great and is very sturdy, but it takes up a lot more room than the old Dell monitor did.

I mounted it to a VESA stand with zero issues. Now, this part is entirely subjective. I could never get used to the way this monitor looked after having gotten used to the contrast ratio and the lack of “silvering” on the Odyssey G9.

I eventually swapped this monitor for a different monitor with a VA panel, but that is no fault of this monitor. I should never have considered an IPS panel since I want such an extreme contrast ratio, but I didn’t know that’s what I wanted until I already had this one.

Would I recommend this monitor for gaming or media viewing (Netflix, YouTube, etc. )? Absolutely! Just be aware that it won’t have the same contrast ratio as a VA panel, like the Odyssey G9 had. If I’d never had the G9 in the first place and just upgraded directly from the old Dell, then I probably wouldn’t have even realized how different the contrast ratio could be.

IšverstiShow in original languageI bought this to replace a 15+ year old NEC 2070NX (which is still going strong!). I just wanted something a little bigger with a slightly faster refresh rate. I mainly do photo editing but also watch movies and game on occasion.

The picture and build quality of this monitor is very good. The only thing wrong with my monitor is that there are several VERY noticeable areas of backlight bleed. It’s bad enough that it should have been caught during QAQC testing.

However, there are no dead or stuck pixels, which is pretty impressive. I chose to keep the monitor because I was worried that I might get another one with something worse wrong with it. I’m still quite happy with the monitor, but the backlight bleeding is an annoyance.

Pros: I love this monitor. Once you get the colour calibration fixed, you can start to enjoy the monitor, the picture is super sharp, crisp and vibrant whilst remaining natural looking. The VRR / adaptive synch works well with my Nvidia 30 series GPU, no complaints there, though apparently it doesn’t work below 48Hz.

Build quality is good, the design is nice and simple, no unnecessary fancy lights or features at the back. The OSD has a comprehensive set of functions such as the six channel adjustments, which allow you to fine tune both saturation and hue for the six colour channels, so 12 in all, though this is not available in all modes, so I used one of the three Custom modes for my preferred settings.

The KVM switch works great and makes it so much better now that I don’t need to keep swapping HDMI and USB cables between my Windows desktop and Macbook. I believe you can only do this with a laptop that supports video and peripheral signal via a USB-C cable, such as a Macbook Pro, and you’ll need a Thunderbolt cable to do this, and these are not cheap.

A normal USB-C charging cable won’t work. Apart from the colour, I don’t tend to touch the other settings, though I’ve turned Overdrive off. I noticed in MS Flight Sim there was massive ghosting on the clouds.

It mostly disappears when I set it to Picture Quality, but I don’t play superfast games so I just switched it off completely. I haven’t bothered with HDR, local dimming, or dynamic contrast ratio, I haven’t needed to.

Though I have decreased Black Equaliser a touch from 10 to 9. Cons: Be prepared for some frustrating and time consuming colour corrections though. The out the box settings weren’t great, the picture was way too green (even in SRGB mode), but I was finally able to get the colours to get close to my Macbook Pro display (which I think is a great reference point for calibration) that was good for both work and gaming.

Red was reduced to 95% and Green to 86%. A minor issue is white text on a black screen isn’t as white and crisp as it is on higher end displays like my Dell U3219Q , the whites aren’t quite bright enough, and nothing I tried could fix that.

It’s the compromise that has to be made at this kind of price point. The maximum brightness isn’t great, it’s quite a bit lower than its bigger brother, the M32U (which I had before). You need to increase it by 20% or so to match that of the M32U.

but it looks like it should suffice in most conditions. HDR is not real HDR on this monitor, don’t even bother with it. A more concerning issue is that the contrast adjustment is pretty much useless.

If you increase it past 55 you start to notice colour cast, and above 65% it looks really bad. This took me a long time to realise when calibrating. So I leave it fixed at 50% and just use the RGB adjustments and set brightness to about 75%.

This is one of the reasons I can’t achieve the desired contrast.

I’ve been eyeing on replacing my aging monitor which was slowly dimming out after 7 years. This one was on the list to consider when I saw it on sale for $369. First one was DOA as it simply wouldn’t turn on.

Sent back for replacement which took about 10 days and the replacement came in with tape seal missing and one corner of box taking beating. Thankfully screen itself had no dead pixel and monitor had no visible damage, but it wouldn’t play nicely with my work laptop via HDMI (laptop recognized input, but monitor wouldn’t show anything).

No such issue with other computers. However, upon placing it on my desk, I noticed the screen would tilt slighly to left, just enough to be bothersome. As it doesn’t have rotating function, I tried to reseat the screen but with little success.

As I don’t know if another replacement will fix this issue, I’m adding little wedge under right side to take care of it. Power/Function button is behind the screen and that was inconvenient as I have to reach out behind just to turn it on/off.

Power button should be on the front. No flickering so far. Color from photoshop looks accurate even without calibration.

After just one day of using it on a certain application with slow moving and very limited animations, my eyes went bloodshot, and I now have eye strain so severe I have trouble seeing or having to focus on anything without feeling heavy strain on my eyes.

It’s so bad that glasses do nothing to help alleviate symptoms. I’m also noticing now that it is blurry in general, and the high frame rate is basically useless for anything except increasing eye strain.

The blue light reduction causes MORE eye strain. Terrible product. Almost as bad as the old LG monitors that they had to put on clearance because nobody wanted them. $400 for physically damaging eyesight equipment is unacceptable, whatever the reason.

Also the stand is excessively bulky and heavy. As is the monitor itself, especially for an IPS monitor.

I was deciding whether to keep the Alienware AW2518HF or the ViewSonic XG2530, and ultimately chose the ViewSonic. I also previously bought the Acer XF250Q, which I returned due to frameskipping when not using G-Sync (thus not running at 240Hz), bottom screen flicker, and the disabled 1ms overdrive when using G-Sync (runs at normal response time at 4-6ms).

At the time of writing this review, the latest iteration of 240Hz 0. 5ms panels is now available on Home Essentials Direct, which includes the AOC AG251FZ2 and the MSI NXG252R, which you should consider over the 1ms lot.

I needed a 240Hz monitor for competitive FPS gaming, and using it at 1ms response time is absolutely required. At this setting, the Alienware showed severe ghosting/overshooting, while you can hardly notice the ghosting with the ViewSonic.

Granted, ghosting isn’t that noticeable while playing FPS since you’re not moving a static image on a static background, but there is also no convenient way of toggling overdrive when not playing. The Alienware has horrendous colors out of the box, especially compared to ViewSonic’s colors at default, which are comparable to that of my Dell P2415Q IPS monitor with 100+% sRGB.

There is also no gamma setting for the Alienware and only uses 1. 8 gamma, which does not concern me as I use the same setting on the ViewSonic. I haven’t tinkered with correcting the colors on the Alienware, and it would’ve helped if it also had ViewSonic’s simple color saturation slidebar.

When I used the Alienware, I’ve stopped watching movies, especially animation, since they were unwatchable with the bad colors. On the ViewSonic I don’t have to switch to my IPS monitor just to watch.

Like I said, I wanted a 240Hz monitor for that competitive edge, so despite how I love the ViewSonic’s image quality, I was more inclined towards Alienware’s faster absolute input lag as measured by Tom’s Hardware, where Alienware had 19ms and ViewSonic had 25ms.

Since I had no high-speed camera to measure this objectively, I measured my in-game, real world performances, since while milliseconds count, if there is no significant difference in my performance, the better image quality of the ViewSonic wins.

Indeed, I found no conclusive difference between my performances on both monitors. I did measure my press reflex reaction times, and while I could get 0. 16-0. 17s more consistently on the Alienware, I’ve gotten my fastest 0.

159s record on the ViewSonic. The worst problem of the Alienware monitor, is a visible screendoor “flicker” especially compared to the ViewSonic which doesn’t show any. I saved this for last as I do not know if this only pertains to the one I got.

I put “flicker” on quotes because I do not know if it is an actual flicker, or the result of the shifting brightness and colors of the TN panel when moving your vision. But the ViewSonic has the same TN panel and it has zero signs of this problem, and even has a very subtle and very pleasant “blurring” filter of some sort.

Finally, another reason to keep the ViewSonic XG2530 is that it is the monitor used by the admin of BlurBusters (the monitor testing website) and he swears by it.

Last month (December 2018), I decided to spend some money on myself. Those with kids can understand that feeling or even need. I upgraded my video game systems to a PS4 Pro and Xbox One X, I also upgraded the video card in my PC to be able to handle 4K.

I bought this monitor to use with the PS4 Pro, Xbox One X and PC. I originally posted a 5 star review after using it for just one night (Christmas Eve). I did put in my review that I would be back to add to the review as I used it but was going out of town for 2 weeks.

I was really impressed with the picture quality. It looked especially good on the Xbox One X games that use HDR. But I hadn’t used it that much. Once back from the holiday visits to family, I was able to use the monitor also with my PC and to see how well my initial very positive reaction to it was holding up.

I have to add this to make what I’m going to say make more sense. I had been using a Samsung 32″ Smart Television, it was one of the higher end ones with the upgraded speakers, 3 HDMI ports, 1080p max, so it wasn’t a pushover.

Once I got settled in with this Viewsonic, I started wondering why I kept leaning forward to change the settings. I kept looking for a remote control. Then, as if a higher power, computer deity was looking down, my PC’s speakers (Harmon Kardon Soundsticks) stopped working.

That’s not a surprise as they were my third set in 5 years. I switched the sound from the speakers to this monitor. The sound this monitor produces might be the worst I’ve ever heard. I was playing Madden 19, the crowd sounded like they were inside a garbage can, two blocks from my house.

It was like a version of white noise. I turned the master volume on the monitor up to 100 but still could only understand about half of what the announcers said. I started messing with the settings thinking there had to be a way to make the speakers sound better but there wasn’t.

This also reminded me of how nice a remote would be with this monitor. When you change the settings, the buttons are little thumb buttons on the back left side of the monitor. Meaning, you can’t see which one you’re pushing.

They sort of “fixed” that by having the buttons show up on your screen but there’s six of them. If you’re aiming for one, you pretty much have to let your finger slide down them until you get to the 3rd or 4th one that you need to press.

It could close before you get it done. And each menu has up to 3 levels. Meaning, you press the “enter/okay” button on what you’re looking for and it opens a new menu. The six buttons change from up/down to left/right depending on which menu you’re in.

You’re welcome to look over my 14 years of reviews here at Home Essentials Direct and see how easily I’m annoyed by something simple being made complex. Within a week, I hated this monitor. Sure, the picture quality is really great but I didn’t like anything else about it.

It even has a power block that you have to plug in to your outlet. And don’t forget the sound/speakers. Maybe I was expecting too much out of it since I did have a PC, Xbox One X and PS4 Pro hooked up to it but my 32″ Samsung television has no problem handling all 3.

That adds one more annoyance. I’m sure someone will tell me to buy a HDMI splitter with remote but I expect a product this expensive to not need an add-on to be easy to use. You also have to go through those menus just to switch from HDMI 1 to HDMI 2 to Display Port.

Go ahead, tap the wrong button and it will mess your settings up and you have to do this every time you want to switch to say the Xbox One X instead of the PC. I really believe a remote would make a ton of difference in this monitor and better speakers would help too.

I realized it didn’t have a remote when I first started to switch between the PC and Xbox One X. My wife thought it was hilarious. I looked at the screen and said, “I have no idea how you change the input.

” Looked in the box, questioned my puppy about eating it then just accepted there’s no remote. I sit about 30 inches away from the monitor, meaning, I’m not sitting right up at the desk it sits on. So, to change the settings/inputs, I have to get up and reach behind the monitor.

Call that lazy if you will but I’m around 40 and work 8-12 hours a day. Meaning, maybe a kid, a teenager who likes changing settings and seeing the results, would be perfectly fine with this monitor.

But I can’t say I am. Luckily, I kept my Samsung television and just hooked it back up for the meantime. It’s not capable of the picture quality of this monitor but it does everything else better and much easier.

Not to mention, it was only half the price of this monitor. I can’t justify the price for what I would call a 25% improvement in picture quality with a complete drop-off in functionality. Last, I will recommend this monitor, as long as you’re not bothered by the parts that annoyed me.

It’s very well made, the stand is excellent, very easy to attach, the monitor can be raised and lowered on the.

The monitor was simple enough to assemble and matches the dimensions as it was described. My wife and I are pleased with the style, size and overall weight of the monitor as well. We weren’t expecting the monitor to connect through a DP (Display Port), thinking it would connect through HDMI as most other monitors do, (which is does) but the picture quality was absolutely atrocious using HDMI.

We were relieved to find that our graphics card that we had just upgraded to a few months prior, had a DP to connect the new monitor, though older graphics cards may not have this option available. However, the picture quality on the device is washed out and we can’t find anything that explains how to fix this.

We have tried adjusting all the settings on the monitor and the graphics card, checked compatibility of all the hardware that may affect this as well, but nothing seems to work. The colors are distorted; blue’s appear as faded green, red’s appear as faded pink, dark colors appear more pinkish-purple, etc.

Oddly enough, the videos that play on the monitor are fine, no distortion at all, only applications and background colors seem to be affected. Some kind of manual for fixing these potential technical issues would be great to include with this product, but none existed in the box the monitor came in.

We are moderately satisfied with our purchase and hopeful that we can still find someone who can help to correct this problem. -Robert.

Great color, no dead pixles, stand is metal and solid, no cheap plastic. Did not find the HDR useful, it makes the screen way too bright, in fact I had to turn down the brightness quite a bit so it took some fine tuning out of the box.

The OBD display is easy to use with the joystick even if awkward on the back compared to buttons on the side. 4th Benq monitor, a pair over 10 years old still working perfectly, just too small. Cons, power cord was unusually short and there was a small but noticeable chip in the paint on the front.

speaker, well 2x5w with no bass so they are weak as expected, you can hear voice alright but don’t bother playing music.

I bought this for two reasons, to use with an xbox series x and with my macbook pro via usb-c. It arrived with no dead pixels, but is still pretty dark and not very sharp when used with Mac. I heard a rattling before I even plugged it in.

I noticed it was super quiet with the speakers at full volume, and then realized that the rattling was coming from the whoofer on the back. You can’t see inside of it through the speaker holes, so I have no clue what was wrong with it, maybe it was detached or blown out, but no sound but shaky rattles came out of it.

The front two 2W speakers alone weren’t very loud, so it pretty much lost its functionality for audio. Other than that, the other features worked great when using it with a headset and muted, but I’m still returning it to hopefully replace with a functional one.

Big bummer on the quality control/careful delivery end.

Had to return the first one due to some dead pixels, replacement is top notch thankfully. A little bit more of backlight bleed and IPS glow than the first unit but nothing out of the ordinary. Contrast and luminosity are really good and I can attest that it works with nVidia GPUs even though it’s not “G-sync Compatible” officially, it works! Get this for the 1440p 144hz Freesync/G-sync great gaming experience, it’s got the same Innolux panel as the Aorus which is very good.

However don’t buy this for the HDR400, at 350 cd/m² it’s pretty bad as with most monitors, the picture gets dark, you lose details and the entire backlight changes all the time, very annoying. You really need precise local dimming like on TVs and much more brightness (at least 600 cd/m²) for real HDR experience.

The included speakers are pretty good for a monitor but it’s not something to rave about, they will distort on medium to high volume. But still impressive! Useful, but use a headset if you’re going to play games, much more immersive.

OH and it has a remote, very cool addition! I was a little annoyed that i got it for 449. – and during the RMA process the price went down to 410. – In my opinion at 550. – it’s a little steep and the competition is very good between 400 to 500.

I rolled the dice on an open box item, and was a little concerned that it had been returned due to dead pixels, backlight bleed, or weird calibration. But I’ve been using this monitor for a couple of months now and it’s terrific.

First thing’s first, the panel is amazing and it’s really what matters. I overclocked it to 170 hz and use the built-in “racing” mode. The colour is phenomenal and I get no weird visual artifacts, no flickering, no blurr.

A++. I also tested for backlight bleed and found virtually nothing, which was a very pleasant surprise. Even the IPS glow is very minimal. Furthermore, 0 stuck or dead pixels, and I’m just overall extremely impressed with the panel.

The stand is mostly great, in that the feet are entirely made of steel or aluminum and it plants very firmly on my desk. I actually use the stand instead of my monitor arm because of how solid it is.

Though the primary pillar is oversized, clad in plastic, and shoots red led’s out of the bottom for some reason. Thankfully, you can disable the LED, and I was even able to remove the red plastic appliques on the base.

Now, I have some petty gripes as well, and they are all related to the design, trim, and casing of the monitor. First of all, the design is very “gamer”, which yes, I know, it is a gaming monitor, but that doesn’t mean that it needs to have red plastic and led’s all over it.

It’s seriously an abomination and I almost returned the monitor because of this. I know, “Who cares?”, but I’m not a 14 year old kid, I use this monitor for my home office and also to play games with when I’m not working.

Thankfully you can remove / deactivate just about all of the red led’s and red plastic trim. My biggest gripe: the back of the monitor and the buttons all feel extremely cheap and flimsy, it reminds me of some kind of $100 off-brand monitor.

Really disappointing for a monitor of this price. I had a Samsung cf791 ultrawide before this monitor, and the casing was much thicker and sturdier, and the thumbstick used for navigation felt leagues ahead in terms of overall quality and durability.

Overall, I bought this monitor because I wanted a 1440p / 144hz – 170hz panel with stellar colours, and that’s exactly what I got. So despite it’s aesthetic short-comings and cheap plastic casing, the panel really does not disappoint, and for that reason, I give it a 4.

I have had this monitor for more than 15 months now and about a month ago I started noticing the edge light bleed getting pretty bad. When I bought the monitor one corner was bleeding a bit but I ignored it because it wasn’t noticeable if I wasn’t focusing on it.

Unfortunately it has gotten so bad that about 10 pixels in from the left and right sides of my monitor are blueish in color due to the edge light bleed. For a $600 dollar monitor this is beyond unacceptable.

I bought this monitor for longevity, not for it to break in less than 2 years of use. Not to mention that it was almost always less than 75% most of the time and it was running at only 120 hz. I did have 10bit color on most of the time, and if that was the reason the edge light started bleeding that would be ridiculous.

The monitor has no auto switching and no input detection. Again for $600 you would think this would be standard. Furthermore testing with an LDAT the monitor at its fastest settings never got close to 2 ms of response time.

And its lag is noticeable in latency reliant tasks like FPS games. Granted for games like Red Dead that are story base its not that much of an issue, but still the 1ms is very misleading. But I knew going into buying this monitor that it would never actually be able get close to 1ms due to it’s IPS panel.

All I can say is I am glad I bough the All State insurance add-on so that I can get a replacement without paying another $600 dollars.

Cons: The ROGSWIFT series has gone a bit backwards somewhat over the years. Yes they’ve added HDMI ports since the first monitor was release way back in 2013 (PG278Q which I also own) but the build quality has gone down somewhat.

Also, some features are worse or removed altogether. On my now 7 year old monitor I can press the power switch at the back on/off as many times and as quickly as I want and the screen will turn on and off instantly whereas on this new monitor that’s not the case.

Pressing the power button turns the whole monitor off completely and it requires a reboot. I’ve owned a TUF monitor and the same applies to that as well, where the whole monitor turns off completely.

Picture quality is decent and not dissimilar to my PG278Q, but the HDR is sorely lacking. I’ll always advise people to get an OLED if you plan on gaming in HDR as those perfect blacks and infinite contrast ratio is unmatched.

Overall a good monitor for the price, but don’t expect groundbreaking performance.
