20 Best Scoliosis Brace For Adults (2023 Updated)

I love this brace. I know this review says Tom, but it’s Peggy. I was starting to slump while checking email and reading the paper in the morning. I bought this Comfy Brace so I could force myself to keep my shoulders back.

I basically only wear it up to 2 hours/day or 2 hours 3-4 times a week. My husband says it has helped me a lot. I’m very happy with this brace and I will continue to use it because I know muscle memory is a real thing.

I’ve been experiencing hip and leg pain from sciatica for around 5 years. It was either go to work part time or do things around the house, not both. So I finally got a spinal x-ray from my ***, got referred to an orthopedist, got an MRI, and was diagnosed with spinal arthritis and stenosis and compression of the discs.

Fortunately no herination yet. The ortho wanted me to buy their brace for over $1,000. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I haven’t reached my deductible yet. I would have had to pay out of pocket. Welcome to the USA.

So I looked around and found this thing for $65. It looked the same and claims to do what I needed, so I bought it. After TWO DAYS, I noticed that my pain was reduced to 10 or 20% depending on the day.

After a few weeks of using this at work, and most of the time around the house, I went to an amusement and water park without it. I climbed the stairs to the water slides four times and walked around for hours.

I was tired from advanced age (56, haha) way before my leg hurt, but I don’t recommend anyone else give it a test like that. I was annoyed that the pulley handles were too far forward to give me the tightness I wanted, but I realized I was doing it wrong.

(pics!!) You need to lay the brace out and undo the handles and THEN pull the two sides of the corset AWAY FROM each other. Then stick the handles back on. When I did this, they ended up on my sides, then I had all kinds of slack to pull the handles all the way to the front again and make it tight.

These braces are lifesavers! They are absolutely no joke. The only reqson I was able to return to work was because of the use of these braces. There is nothing like them. I immediately had my father try it out and he ordered one, too.

You WILL feel the benefits immediately after putting it on. I won’t leave home without it!.

This brace is incredible! I have multi-level degenerative disc disease (lumbar-sacral region AND mid-thoracic level) and because of my short torso, this gives me support in for both areas. Specifically, I tried it because I’m not quite ready to give up skiing yet and wanted something that might support my back on the slopes.

This looks like it’s going to work great. I’ve tried a number options but never one of this quality, with the semi-rigid support. All the others “rolled” at the top or bottom, and didn’t fit my weird short-torso.

A few months prior to me getting this brace I had been battling with some really bad left sided back pain, but I shook it off and pushed through. Later on down the road I went to my doctor and explained that my back pain had gotten a lot worst and she put an order in for a CT scan (this was done due to my right knee replacement in February), so sure enough I had a bulging disc on my L4 and L5.

I severe 3 days after I had that scan, I wasn’t able to walk!! If felt like my entire left side gave up. That disc was pushing on my Sciatic nerve that went from my lower back down to my feet. My leg had tingling, numbness and pain shooting in my leg constantly! I had to work remotely for 2 weeks be I couldn’t sit to do anything for a long period of time.

I was put on muscle relaxers, Lidocaine patches, and Gabapentin and nothing touched this pain. My mother who lives with us, was so worried and went online to look for something that could help, and she found the brace ability site! I am no longer hunched over thanks to the brace. I usually put it on first thing in the morning and it stays on most of the day. It gives me the support I need to stand upright without my shoulders hunching over.

I wear it inside or outside and it’s especially helpful when I’m doing chores. It’s easy to put on without the front piece; impossible using the front piece without assistance. The only time I don’t wear it is when I’m driving my car.

Size wise, the brace was too small to wear comfortably when I tried it on with the front piece. Also I needed assistance putting the brace on. I followed the size guide according to the measurements on the site, without the front piece sizing was perfect.

It only takes seconds for me to put the brace on and I never need anyone’s help.

As I have lost weight, I have noticed that my posture was in need of attention. My shoulders and upper back slumped forward. I could straighten up, but it wouldn’t stick. I needed a gentle reminder to straighten up to fit my newly evolving body weight.

My back embrace fit the bill. I could wear it under my clothing and enjoy a correcting posture. The elastic band provided a thin thickness yet substantial press. I bought more than one so that I could wear one while my back embrace was in the wash.

The only downside is that the elastic bands tend to roll under my arms and need adjusting after wearing the embrace for a while. If it weren’t for this, I would give it a 5 star review.

When I received this brace I was surprised at how well it was constructed. I’ve worn it throughout a day of work and also to the gym and even jet skiing. The Velcro is strong and the support is phenomenal.

The back support is too short, the part that wraps around the front needs to be twice as wide. The part that wraps around the back needs to be wider than it is by about 3 inches. Truthfully doesn’t and can’t give you great support to your back without supporting the front and that is not possible when the width is so small.

At first I was dismayed that this brace did not have a firm panel in the back like many other braces to provide support. Later, tho, I read the instructions and found that this brace operates by creating a very tight wrap around one’s midsection.

Sheer pressure holds everything in and keeps alignment where it should be. The product arrived late but other than that, it fits, and that’s important.

After four lumbar surgeries, including a ‘caged fusion,’ 13 years ago, I finally reached a point where I sort of got my life back. Prior to that last big one, I lived in agony for over twenty five years.

Agony!!! I have Degenerative Disc disease, meaning, the discs’ between my vertebra had worn down to almost nothing in the last five vertebra in my lower back; no disc means: bone on bone = excruciating pain, constantly, 24/7.

I felt pretty good for about five years after that last surgery in 08, still fairly restricted, but not as much pain. Then things like, Stenosis started tearing it’s **** head, add arthritis on top of that and you get the return of the the pain, all over again.

I also had a cervical fusion, neck, as well and a neck brace helps when it flares back up so I looked for one for my lower back and found this company. I had a sergical brace to wear immediately after my fusion, but the Dr didn’t want me to wear it after the incision healed so I could strengthen all the support mussels.

Again, I was much better for about five years until these other problems invaded my lower back. Ten the pain level went back to a ten and I was right back where I started. So I found BraceAbility, one size fits all, and found it to be a life changer.

See, after all the surgeries in my lower back had finally failed, there was no strength left. Almost like my lower body couldn’t hold up my upper body. I was walking bent over like I was 100 years old.

And I couldn’t walk more that fifty or so feet. Standing in any line was out of the question unless I had a walker, which became my new ‘necessary’ friend. You tend to get very depressed when you’re in so much pain, every day of you life, and you feel totally useless. Do I recommend this company? You bet I do. Whatever your problem is, you’ll find a brace that will accomadate your needs. They are made very well and will last a long, long time. Being fully adjustable allows me to zero in on the adjustment while I’m wearing it to maximize the relief I’m looking for.

Sorry for being wordy here, but I felt a little background and context would be better than saying. Buy it, it works. Hope this review helps someone in pain make the right decision on which brace to get for their back issues and relief.

This is a true evaluation from a real buyer of a lumbar brace.

I’m 5 foot and very small and the brace is too big on me. I need the brace to support the S. I. Joint area and because it’s not a good fit for small, petite women, this brace doesn’t stay in place; it rides up on me and requires constant adjustment.

I’m not very pleased. The brace is also too wide for a petite woman. It needs to be modified for petite women with a narrower brace.

I have been suffering from back pain for quite a while now. I was looking for different things to help me manage pain but I havent been successful until I found this brace. It is keeping my back straight while correcting my posture and relieving me from pain.

Again if anyone has back pain especially from Lordosis or Kyphosis I would 100% recommend this brace. It has worked wonders for me and honestly I didn’t think anything would work for my back pain but I was very wrong.

It is expensive but it will definitely help so it is really worth it. I am a very happy customer and hopefully you will be too.

I feel that the brace helps me keep straighter where my scoliosis makes me bend. So that helps , but it puts pressure under my arms and it hurts from the pressure. I do like it in the morning but can not wear it all day due to too much pressure under my arms.

The large was too big and the medium fits better.

I bought this for my little sister as she is growing tall and experiencing mild scoliosis. This has helped and the adjustments are great for all sizes, take your time and figure out the straps and you’re good to go.

I have 6 bulging discs, with Arthritis, and slight curvature of the lower back. Dr. John France, M. D. at WVU Ruby Hospital, Orthopedics Department, prescribed a QUIKDRAW for me to wear since there was too much area for back surgery or to give shots in the area.

They gave me a QUIKDRAW there to start using on December 31, 2013; however, after years of use it became necessary to replace it. I wear one when working on the farm, lifting or when my back is hurting and it gives me relief.

I would highly recommend this product to anyone that has back pain.

This is the best back support. Its lightweight washed nicely and support my back. I have three herniated discs from many years of lifting pulling and pushing patients. This is many times the only thing that helps me get thru the day with back pain as it holds you as much or as little support as you want.

It also forces you to walk straight.

My husband has another brand, but likes VIVE better because the straps are cushioned and don’t dig into his shoulders. The posture correctors allowed him to go back to work after he had cervical surgery due to sepsis.

Although the surgery was necessary, it turned out not to be needed. This device allows him to lift his arms and helps to straighten his neck.

It came on time, in one piece, with no ridiculous amount of wrapping. It’s easy to put in and immediately “reminds you” of your posture. It has greatly helped me sitting at my desk for hours and protect my neck from additional pain.

You can put this brace on by yourself but it’s easier with help from someone else. I am able to work and move easily with this brace on. I use it mostly for sitting at the computer. It holds your shoulders back to a certain extent but more than that for me is that it just reminds me to use good posture.

It is a slightly bigger fit then I had measured that I’d need. May order a smaller size later in but it is usable at this size. I think that the curvature of my abdomen makes the brace sit kinda high in on back, otherwise is slides up.

But I do believe it has helped my chronic back pain. I love that the tension can be adjusted! When my back is needing more support it is nice to be able to tighten it up with the adjustable straps.

Excellent. I purchased this specifically for heavy weight use in the gym. The design of this support far exceeds the standard gym belt and prohibits over stress of the spine. It’s design also allows it to be worn under regular clothing should one require extra support in daily life.

As seen in the photo, this brace supports along the vertical sides of the spine and not across the horizontal lower back. Brilliant design!!! Works by supporting the mid and lower spine while not suppressing it.

I have serious lower back pain. I did some research and brought a Bauerfeind Lumbotrain Lady to help protect my lower back and reduce the pain whilst working. It works! It immediately reduces my lower back pain when wear it on.

The lumbar train is unbelievable. It works like magic. One day I was in Santa Monica with my daughter for lunch on her 16th birthday and I could barely walk. I mean I was in excruciating pain. When we walked out of the restaurant I realized that I had no money to pay for the valet service.

The closest ATM was two blocks away and I took baby steps trying to get there. In the meantime we passed by a store that had a lot of athletic type items in it and my daughter who ran track at the time wanted to go in.

I like the design of the back brace. It does not slip nor does it bunch around my torso. This back brace not only provides comfortable support but it permits full range of motion. The back brace has mesh panels to release excess heat and allow for perspiration transfer.

The wear instructions were very useful. Not only were there directions but there were also picture instructions.

This was recommended by a neuro surgeon. It does do what it says – gives you support so that you hurt when you bend in any direction. But keep in mind, it is 2 layers so it does get hot! So wear a T-shirt underneath so that you your skin does not get itchy and sweaty too much.

Also, at first when you tighten the second layer, your back feels so good but remember not to tighten the second layer too much as it will become restrictive and uncomfortable. I usually wear the brace about 2-3 hours at a time.

I tried to move a 15 inch thick King size mattress by myself because I was too stubborn to wait for my husband. Been in pain for 3 days. Ordered this with 2 day delivery and what a relief when it arrived! the compression is definitely helping.

I’ve only had it on for a few hours so I can’t really say as to whether or not it gets you sweaty underneath when doing physical things. But I would kind of think that any kind of brace or anything like this would get sweaty after a while.

This one is probably a bit cooler than others due to the mesh.

This was the third back brace that I ordered while trying to find a replacement for a well used product over many years. The length of the first back brace was too long and extremely heavy, I am a small person but needed a wider belt.

The second brace was inexpensive and cheaply made when compared to my original brace. But the third choice, branded as ‘Old Bones’ was a wonderful fit. What is more, the very packaging said quality and caring are important to the manufacturer.

I’m a 196lb, plus-size runner who completes 4 miles (~6km) every other day, without fail. I’ve had a herniated disc in L4/L5 since 2011, largely because back then I was 270lbs and it put significant strain on my back.

Even after weight loss, the discs herniate on occasion, especially if I don’t sleep properly. Because of my high-impact activity, I need something to 1. support my back while running on the rougher days; 2.

repair/soothe the inflammation as post-workout recovery. I’ve tested the back brace (without the gel packs) on a 4 mile run (6. 35 km) run, and although it didn’t improve my pace, I didn’t have to take as many walking breaks.

More importantly, I wiped it down with Lysol and strapped it using an iced-gel pack and I felt immediate relief in my lower lumbar region (L4/L5). I appreciate that it’s not a single stingy elastic strap, there is significant heft/strength here, with 2 velcro fixtures on either side.

It gives me a little muffin-top look while I run hehe. But It does what it says, and my old bones are grateful.

I purchased this support brace for my daughter. She really likes the fact that she can pull it as tight as she wants for support. I have one like it, that is why I purchased one for my daughter. This is the only back brace I will use as it meets all my needs to help with a back that has had surgery and has been overused for many years of lifting and straining.

Returning immediately. Would not recommend purchasing. Terrible fit and extremely uncomfortable. Back area feels like you are in a rigid box. It rubbed the skin off my lower back after wearing for less than an hour.

I have a few cinchers and not only are they very uncomfortable but very hot so I would not wear them. This cincher is exactly like the genie cincher you get on TV or online. They make you get two and pay shipping for both even through both com in same box.

So this was so much cheaper as I only need one, The double elastic strap makes this so much easier to put on, is cooler, flexible so I can wear all day without major discomfort, The bottom line is I have lost stomach size so i wil keep wearing it.

The T-L brace has now been worn 10 days during awake hours. After wearing all day, my ribs will hurts a little along with my lower, sacral area, especially after vacuuming. I now have very little pain when arising in the morning.

I resprained a T-12 compression fx on 6-3-22.

Strong, durable quality braces. Snugs, adjusts, secures and fits perfectly every time. Very well designed. I bought 2 different kinds. A high back and a low back fit all. Both are fantastic.

I have herniated discs at L1, L4 and L5. I also have the aspen summit 637. I was looking for a smaller lumbar brace to drive and do other things without the brace being too bulky like the summit. I am completely satisfied with the horizon and glad I chose this brace.

It is slimmer, lighter and feels great all around. It does not go all the way up my back like the summit but provides great protection. Its very low profile and still provides the lumbar with protection and nice padding.

Its comfortable and very happy with the purchase. No doubts now, it was well worth it. Its adjustable, can barely tell its there under clothes, has the strings to tighten both the upper and lower portion of your back to your liking.

My neighbor had spine surgery and was given one of these braces post-op. I’d mentioned that I have age related back pain mainly from poor lifting mechanics from my younger days. He suggested that I try his brace to see if it offered relief.

I tried it on and tightened the lumbar supports, I could feel a difference immediately. I do not wear it while working but use it for 3-4 hours after. The back support this brace gives during that time seems to relax my lower back and resultantly reduce pain.

Advancing age and Covid-19 aches and pains combined to leave me nearly unable to move, much less walk. After 3 days of immobility I managed to drive a couple of blocks to the drug store and purchase the Futuro back brace pictured on this website.

I cannot overstate the efficacy of this product – immediately upon donning the brace for the first time, I was nearly pain-free and able to resume normal activities and a normal life. After a few days of wearing the brace, my lower back was able to heal itself somewhat and thus now I only need to wear it when I have pain.

Usually once or twice a week for a few hours each time, I rarely have to wear the brace for an entire day, but now I don’t lift nuthin’ for nobody, not even myself! The brace is available for less than half the price advertised here, but I would have gladly paid 3 times what I paid because the relief that this product provides is priceless.

Everything about this Futuro back brace is just right for me! The width of the belt is wide enough to be supportive & means that where the front comes together it never feels like it’s cutting or digging into my waist.

Cold packs help me a lot & and this is the first back brace that lets me cinch the pack against my lower back even when I’m standing – I used to have to press my back against a chair or the bed to really get the relief only a cold pack could provide.

I’m sure it would work just as well with heat. But be sure to ask questions: There are many small variations of this brace – so even though the size & pictures look identical – it’s easy to get a version slightly different than the one that’s right for you.

I work in the yard, garden, and landscaping of an acre of land everyday 7/24/365, for about 6 hours a day. I do all labor by hand. My lower back started to pain me after a day of using the pick ax to remove about 50 square feet of soil from the flood plain.

This is an ongoing project. That afternoon after lifting 5 gallon buckets of grey water, moving yard debris, and hacking away at the soil with a pick ax, and other labor tasks involved in daily landscaping my back was on fire.

I did my yoga for 2 hours to alleviate and move the muscles. Exercise always cures and is part of our everyday routine. I ordered the brace. Received it in 3 days, and put the brace on and wore it to be that night.
