This is a great saw. I never used one before, but now it is my go to saw. It cuts great with little effort. I would buy this saw again.

We had an overhanging branch that obscured our view when entering our driveway. It was a green tree and really too far away from the house to use an extension cord for our reciprocating electrical saw.

My wife and I were both outside and she said, “let’s just cut the branch off. ” All I had easily available was my hack saw! She held the branch down towards the ground from the end and I began hacking away as close to the tree as possible.

It took me five minutes and one stoppage to hack it off, leaving about two feet of an ugly looking jagged branch left attached to the tree. We were successful cleaning our vision but at an aggravating cost of time, effort, inefficiency and end state.

(Nice shipping speed and for free) I immediately went outside and used my new Bahco to finish off that branch to cut it flush with the tree.

It took me less than two minutes, with my Bahco and no breaks to cut it off perfectly flush with the tree and without assistance from my wife. What a wonderful saw and price/shipping speed from, “tools-plus.

Pleased with our purchase of Saws. Ideal for out new forest school which students are setting up. These products are good for the students to learn about survival in a contained area we are setting up within our school grounds.

Our staff member as been trained on all forestry equipment and as chosen these saws as being suitable for our school.

I couldn’t afford a power saw or anything similar and needed to cut up a willow tree which had split and come down. Okay so it takes a little more effort and time with a handsaw and I was honestly not expecting it to perform so well.

Managed to cut most of what was in the way with this saw even some thick parts. Hard work but for the price it’s brilliant. As always great customer service from Christchurch store when picking up.

This is a gorgeous handsaw, aesthetically pleasing, well-made and comfortable in the hand. (A fellow with esp. large hands might find the handle fit a bit tight. ) But it took me 8-10 minutes to make a simple cut thru a piece of 1×3.

Why? Turns out it only cuts on the pull, or draw, stroke. I could scarcely move the blade forward unless it was not touching the wood. Pull, lift and move forward, pull, lift and move forward. Maybe I’m doing something wrong, but I’m used to handsaws cutting back and forth, back and forth.

But it does cut beautifully on the pull stroke!.

Lovely small handsaw. The steel used for the blade is top notch. The handle is what I call a hybrid were you have an outer plastic grip covering a nice wooden handle making it very very comfortable to use.

This specific saw from Irwin I found was only available from the USA and not Europe which is a shame as it’s a much better product than the available Euro model. Hense due to the quality I decided to buy and import from the USA.

Really recommend this so much I purchased a 24″ version fine cut saw as well.

I use these small saws mainly to top small trees around my property. This usually involves me climbing a ladder and hanging onto the tree with one hand while working the saw with the other, so I need a saw to get the job done quickly and without binding and causing me to work harder than I should.

In the course of normal wear, I find I need to replace these types of saws about once every 5 or 6 years. This will be my third. My first was the Stanley and it worked well, but I find the deep cutouts of the Irwin make for a faster cut.

I find this hand saw to be perfect for me. I live in an apartment with no garage or work shop so a large carpenters saw just isn’t practical at all. There are times where a knife simply won’t cut it (pun intended).

I had to cut 2 tabs off a waste basket that were tearing the bags upon removal when full, but the heavy plastic was just too much for even a serrated knife. This hand saw zipped right through that plastic in a few pushes.

Quite pleased with that and then it slipped right into a drawer. I like the fact the blade is replicable too. I have no need for a big heavy duty contractors saw and no where to store one, but I will find many uses for this saw over time.

I use this to cut down oversized pallets, that I then either use as salvaged wood or for burning in a woodstove. Nice to be able to cut without needing access to electricity. Cutting through pine is so easy.

Cuts through oak and other hardwood also pretty simple. I’ve probably spent 90 minutes sawing with this (that is a lot of wood). I estimate that cutting through 1/2″ by 4″ takes 3-4 seconds. Probably 10 seconds for a 2×4.

And that is ordinary sawing. If I was racing, I could get it close to 5 seconds. Anyway, with all of that sawing, no deterioration evident in the sharpness of the blade yet. This is probably ok for precision work.

I’d recommend a Japanese saw for that, however – these teeth are fairly large. But you can make do with this. Enjoy.

I have had one of these Stanley saws since college, more than 20 years. It kept its original edge for an incredibly long time; I only had to resharpen it for the first time within the past year. Now it cuts like new.

Any time I’ve seen the first signs of rust, a little WD-40 brings it right back to full health, and this is only required maybe once a year. The small size is unbelievably convenient; the fact that it fits in my toolbox, taking up virtually no space, is the reason it has stayed with me all these years.

Lots of times, it is quicker and more convenient to whip out this little saw and do a quick cut than to trouble with a power saw. Can’t recommend enough!.

It doesn’t bend easily. That means it is easier to punch through the wall to get a hole started and isn’t going to go wobbly on you when you are trying to put some elbow grease on it. Here is the one watch-out: it is substantially thicker than a standard blade.

Where that matters for one example is when you cut out a piece of drywall and want to use that same piece to patch the hole back up. The gaps between the cut piece and the whole it was cut from are large.

You can still fill them in, but it is just something to be aware of.

Well written description that leads a person to believe this is manufactured in America. When receiving the saw I noticed it is made in China. And along with most things made in China this saw is inferior to U.

S. A. manufacturing. The saw was sharp and cut well for about 10 minutes and all I was cutting is lathe on a wall after the plaster was removed. I would not recommend this to anyone.

Bought this and a Coughlan’s Sierra 7″ at the same time to compare. Initial impression is this is TWICE the quality at $4 more. Well worth the extra 4 bucks. Sierra’s pro is it is lighter but it just feels much cheaper.

Blade bends side to side quite a bit, doesn’t lock or stay put when closed and has a manual locking system when opened. The EverSaw is sturdier, better ergos, locks automatically with a push (orange button) release to close it up.

Stays closed. And mine came with a free carry bag.

Strong and sharp. Will be perfect to throw in my backpack for snowmobile and enduro riding.

Handy little saw – I used it for cutting out the waste for dovetail joints (less chiselling). I bought this one because it has a wooden handle. Everything goes into waste eventually, plastic probably never degrades, etc.

This is made to a high standard, no flexing in the frame etc. With a simple tightening of the handle to add tension to the blade and unscrewing it permits the blade to be rotated within the frame. Blade change is simple and is a case of slackening off the handle then applying a little weight to the frame to take the tension off the blade and it slips out.

This should lat a lifetime.

Decided to go with this saw as I have other Bahco products. It works well and I like the way you can twist the blade in the frame to any angle. It feels like a quality product. I was cutting 5. 5mm ply and would have preferred a finer blade – shame Screwfix do not sell them.

I noticed another reviewer said the supplied blade seemed blunt. I thought the same but after cutting an inch or so it was a lot better. No idea why; possibly a protective coating on the blade?.

I got this to replace a cordless that quit wanting to cut anything more than a slice of paper, and one that has been a pain to get a straight cut with, without horrible kickback. I read reviews and was going to go with the Metabo, but that meant going out of my way during rush hour traffic.

Forget that noise. The tractor supply was on my way and I intended to get the porter cable one, which they didn’t have. Let me just say my hometown TS has nothing on the shelves and no price tags on anything.

Horribly ran. Anyway they had the Makita and it was cheaper there than elsewhere and I’m glad I did. I’ve only used to cut a piece off of some 3/4” birch plywood, but it was like I was cutting the aforementioned paper it went so quickly.

It sounds really beefy too. I like the dust blower and led lights but I wish it has a laser. No big deal since my cordless doesn’t either. This is my first makita tool and probably not my last. I’m very impressed with the quality, ease of adjusting the blade depth (I was able to do so one handed and without the blade falling back down before I could get to the set screw) and raw power of the tool.

The 24 tooth blade cut the plywood with no chipping, although I did buy another 60 tooth blade from HF to use for plywood cutting. You’ll be as impressed as I if you know anything about power tools as I do.

Bought this saw to replace an old Craftsman saw that had served me well but didn’t have the feel of the construction grade saws my father used when I was growing up. When the Craftsman burn out with smoke and a lot of awful noise I wanted to upgrade.

This saw had a great feel, cleared the cutting path wonderfully, loved the light but for my first cut with it I clamped a straight edge to a piece of plywood and was startled when the thin plate of the saw slipped under the straight edge and well you can guess what happened to what I thought was going to a wonderful experience of make a straight cut with my new saw.

Home Essentials Direct was great to allow me to exchange the saw for a similar saw with thicker plate that is less likely to slip under a straight edge. It may not make a difference for most users but for me it was a deal breaker.

I bought this to mount to an EZsmart track saw guide system. I was used to cut and build solid surface countertops. I give it 5 stars for easy of use, 4 stars for power and 4 stars for design. The one star loss for power comes, because my 12 amp 25 yr old skil saw can out power this 15 amp newer version.

Why is it that “they don’t make them like they used to?” The loss in design, come because, though I like the idea of blowing the sawdust away from the cut line, this saw goes way too far in an enclosed shop.

It was impossible to contain the massive ejection of high-speed far-reaching sawdust from spewing out the front of the saw as well as out the back. I will be removing all of the contents of the my shop to clean it.

Granted, it advertises no dust extraction system, but it goes a bit overboard by ejecting with force in both directions: Poor design, one star off! That said, it did have very little trouble handling this project and acts like it still is ready to go.

It was also fairly easily mounted to the track guide and performed flawlessly and made great cuts with plenty of power. It handled the 1/2 in. solid surface material and 1″ plywood with little difficulty.

So, I would definitely recommend it.

I haven’t been vexed by the saw getting out square like so many have. No problems in precisely cutting off the bottom of a door that a DIY-er or incompetent carpenter had mangled. But then, most of my precision cutting is with a miter saw or radial arm.

I use the circular saw for rough cuts. But where this saw shines for me is in “salvage” work. I cut up utility reels/spools for firewood. Full depth plowing through solid lumber: no problems. This saw has made hundreds and hundreds of feet of such cuts without missing a beat.

What is especially helpful is the powerful sawdust clearing feature. I even wave this Bosch over the surface to blow away the sawdust from previous cuts to help me avoid nails. I’ve done no maintenance except to use a compressor to blow it out.

(Only improvement I’d like: a larger trigger space to accommodate heavy winter gloves. ) Because of salvage work, I’ve gone through a lot of blades, but I never worry about the saw. So maybe it isn’t the most precise saw, but it is, “blades down,” the toughest, most durable, and reliable one I have ever owned.

I am always leery about buying refurbished stuff but I took a chance. The saw overall (with the exception of the lever to adjust the depth of cut) is good and durable. The problem is that the lever to adjust the depth of cut is Plastic and has a cheap plastic cap and spring behind it.

Very first use Adjusted depth and the cap popped off and shot across the room along with the spring. Pretty cheap/crappy design. Not sure if I can get a replacement piece or am I stuck relying on good ole duck tape to keep the lever in place?!?!.

This is a handy useful saw. But, it has a couple of issues. 1. As the blade guard moves around the curve, the black handle on it moves into the line of sight of the user blocking the view of the cut.

One must lean way over and around to continue to see the cut. It’s a poor design. The handle is big and handy for moving the blade guard manually. 2. The grip necessary to remove the battery needs a LOT of power.

One must press red release ‘buttons’ on each side of a big battery. Young powerful hands probably won’t notice, but we senior folks can struggle plenty to press both at once to release the battery. Trying to use two hands to do it is a fool’s errand.

Not the best design. I greased the tabs a wee bit, that hold the battery in place, to make it easier. A helps a little. Otherwise it’s a handy tool. This is no worm-drive powerhouse, but it gets jobs done nicely.

I find it useful and light.

I have used a shark saw which is virtually the same for some years and could not find a replacement blade when my son broke it. I therefore bought this Irwin and have since purchased two replacement blades with a finer finish so I now have two saws which I can use for most jobs.

They are light and very efficient and I can really recommend them!.

This saw is useful in so many different ways. Since buying my first Irwin pullsaw, I have vowed never to be without a sharp one. The blade is VERY sharp when first bought and users need to be careful to avoid cuts.

Don’t be put off by that. All tools should be used with care. I recommend.

This saw cuts very precise and works great on accuracy. No effort is required just pullback and the blade does the job. Shame you cannot buy just the blade as the handle is wasted. If my blade gets damaged I cut back the blade length and reuse on less important projects.

This Sharksaw is advertised as an excellent “general carpentry” saw. It IS that, and more. It has a heft to it that many Japanese pull saws don’t have. Woodworkers will like that because it does many jobs that would otherwise require a dozuki (backsaw).

The handle is at the very best angle possible to give one’s arm and shoulder an easier time of it — which makes it easier to simply guide the saw and let it do the work. Heavy force isn’t necessary.

And it does all those things without a wide kerf.

Best handsaw ever. Effortless cutting. Easy to change blade. The 12″ general carpentry blade is a great all purpose saw to have around. I Have two of my own and bought this for a Christmas gift.

My father lent me one of these hand saws and had to return it and buy my own because it is the best hand saw blade i have ever used. Had to fight with a jam nut seized on the kitchen sink so I went to town on the copper piping only chipping off 1 or 2 teeth, and trust me I was not delicate in the whole ordeal.

This saw is faster than most common and low end power tools. Highly reccomend this and plan to buy additional blades/lengths.

This saw has a comfortable no slip handle. The blade lock works very good and is simple to use. The saw cuts very well and the longer blade let’s you make more wood chips per stroke. On pencil diameter size branches I use the saw like a machete and it works great cause it’s heavy enough to take it.

Compact when folded, and very effective as a cutting tool. Not quite as stiff as I’d like, but it cuts on the pull stroke as well as the push stroke, so stiffness is less of a factor. I think I may get a 2nd one for the backpack and leave this 1st one in the garden shed for trimming around the place.

It cut up the discarded X-Mas tree in short order.

Wow, this makes short work of chewing up wood branches, very sharp and cuts through the back stroke as well, cut up 1, 2 inch tree limbs as well as trimming up stuff, very steady and good grip, recommended.

As I said, the saw is resharpenable. The handle needed re-working; it was poorly finished, but sound. I found the plate to be a little thin for a seven-point saw. It needed a touch-up sharpening before reporting for duty, and it needed resetting.

Out of the package, it required 32 strokes to cut a 2″ rip line in a pine 1 x 4. I did nothing else to the saw but to put it in a saw vise and take one single light stroke to each tooth. Then I cut another line next to the first one: It required only 16 strokes.

The sides of the cut were rough, showing that the teeth were not uniformly set. This little $9 saw offers good utility for the money, and it’s a good size for young children to learn on. The steel might not be the best, but it’s adequate, and it will teach young woodworkers to pay attention and sharpen up when the tools need it.

Been using it to cut some wooden planks and boards and MDF. It’s not more nor less good than any cheap hand saw. It gives a feel of quality, and it will probably do the job in years to come. For an amateur.

A professional/skilled worker would probably go up a level or two. Unfortunately the handle is too small for my hand, and my hands are no bigger than average. I will recommend that you really try to hold the saw before buying it.

If the handle doesn’t give room for your hand I would look for a bigger one. Entirely my fault that I didn’t “try it on” before I bought it, so to give this product three instead of four stars might be a little unfair.

I’ve already found another saw that I’m going to buy. At Harbor Freight, of course. Bang for the buck, service and support at its best. That’s why!.

I bought this “bull saw” (from another company) to cut up a 13-inch diameter dead ash log that was blocking a trail. The site was about 1/4 mile off-road, steeply uphill all the way. I figured this saw would be lighter & easier to carry than my chainsaw or my two-man crosscut.

Well, it was easy to carry, but it wouldn’t cut! The blade binds terribly. I don’t know if there’s not enough set to the teeth, or if it needs gullets and rakers to clear sawdust. So, I gave up on this brand new saw, and did the job with my 50-year-old Sager/Collins Jersey felling axe instead.

Since then I’ve tried using it at home to cut 6-inch diameter logs for firewood on a saw buck with the same result — instant binding. Very disappointing.

We have more saws and chainsaws (both gas and battery and corded) and hand saws than you can throw a penny at. and we use them all in various settings and applications. I picked up this bull saw to throw in the back of my truck for 1) those times when a tree or limb is down across one of our peninsular roads in winter, and it isn’t worth the trouble, pulling out whatever chainsaw is also back there at the time, then having to clean up/oil up/sharpen later and 2) to haul along on field archery trails.

We haven’t used it on anything over about 7″ but it worked great. I’m short (5’5″) so had to find a posture and rhythm that worked, particularly in the drawstroke. but once I got that down and practiced a GOOD LONG DRAW, it was perfection.

My husband is 6’3″, and I think he had a harder time finding a good posture; his take was that it worked best with him low to the work and drawing more level to the ground. Your mileage may vary, especially if your joints are younger than ours.

But all in all, this is an amazing tool, high quality, super sharp, very solid, and as versatile as my beloved little “farm and home” Stihl 025, only quieter and less stinky.

I bought this saw thinking I’d use it a few times a year to clear out dead branches in the aging trees around our house – then the Great Ice Storm of 2021 hit. No electricity, what gasoline people had was being used for generators to keep from freezing to death, and the emergency crews were quickly overwhelmed.

Our driveway was blocked by fallen limbs and ice-heavy branches leaning down to the ground. Western Log Saw to the rescue! About three hours of work cleared off numerous thick green cedar limbs, and and 8-10 inch maple branch that came down in the street.

I won’t use chain saws after several scary kickback episodes, but this well-made saw did the trick. It’s heavy enough not to bounce off of frozen or sappy branches, and the teeth are aggressive enough to power through even green wood.

I was given this as a Christmas gift from my son. I was really excited to try it out on a little project that I had been waiting for just the right time to do. I am a former tool repair mechanic technician so I know tools.

You name it, I’ve repaired and tested it! Electric, battery powered, pneumatic, hydraulic. I have even designed tools. I read the instruction manual and deciphered the drawings which were labeled incorrectly (that should have been my first clue) I assembled the saw.

Prepped my work area, clamping the wood to the work table top. I marked and masked the 12. 25 wide x 3/4″ ply wood shelf about 8″ away from my final 36″ final dimension so as to practice a bit before I got to the actual cut line which was at the 3/4 way point 36″ on the 48″ board.

Long story short, 3 frustrating hours later I still had not gotten a straight cut! I squared, clamped, offset, free hand cut , re squared using a variety of squares and instruments. I used 2 different cross cut guides and I tried every trick I knew and I could not get it to cut straight or not BIND after about 4-8 “.

I only made it to the end 3 out of approx 15 attempts. By the time I finished making trial practice cuts I only had about 2″ of board to spare to my 36 nom length. Another problem is the “0 out” to the blade, it does not cut at 0 ! Which is to say the guide hole is NOT directly in line with the blade.

Once you’ve done your best to cut and if you are lucky enough to make it to the end using the guide hole view in the base plate, you soon discover that although you’ve followed the line, the saw is cutting off the line to right and it cannot be cut straight on its final 2″ because you cannot see the cut line through the guide hole because now you are overhanging the end and your cut line that is showing is not the same line as the blade that is cutting.

Arrrgh! Every time my last 2″ had to be free handed and guessed. In the end none of the cuts were square on the ends. If you dont care about accuracy this tool may be ok. I guess it would be perfect if you just wanna gouge out some electrical box holes in paneling.

I will never get my 3 hours back but if this helps anyone to not make the same mistake by purchasing this tool it will be worth it. This tool’s design was not thought through at all. Hey WORX guys next time call me if you want a great tool design I have lots of ideas to improve your line.

If I could put a minus 5 I would. I have used large circular saws before and had occasional kickbacks, but with this I had constant kickbacks. I could not get through one piece of wood, thin piece of moulding, etc without constant kickback.

Did not cut all the way through any piece of wood I tried. JUNK!! Very disappointed. I don’t know if I was doing something wrong, but I had to hold down red button while holding down starter and my hand just wasn’t big enough to hold both.

Pain in the hand! I tried to reach them by phone and after waiting forever, they just told me to go online. I went online to “chat” and it told me I had 17 min. wait. I didn’t have time to sit there, so walked away.

Came back to see they had asked me for my name, address, ok. Walked away and came back to see it had said, “was answer satisfactory to you?” What answer. I didn’t even get to tell “online chat” what the problem was.

Only used it once so far and worked well. The included blade is too rough for melamine board and other fine cut blades (higher teeth count) are almost impossible to find, which limits the value of the saw – even any replacement blade is very hard to find.

Hand grip is still a bit wide to hold. Positec makes the Worx and the Rockwell saw – a little more expensive as it appears to be a little more heavy duty. Rockwell has another blade that fits.

I bought this saw to help me cut beams from timbers. It is very difficult to figure out, with very little in the manual about operation and technique. I recently discovered how to adjust the depth of cut which I do not believe is covered in the manual.

My power system cannot handle this saw either. It clips the power off repeatedly, making one cut take a tremendous amount of time. However it is a BEAST! It can cut very large beams.

Very slow with the rpm. Not enough power to keep the blade turning. You can smell the motor burning up.

The saw is great and very easy to maneuver at the same time is very safe., A tool that is necessary for a job without having to worry about wide and long cuts!

I have now used my Gomboy on two trail maintenance outings. I have also carried out on a pleasure hike. It’s great for low hanging branches that less than 3 to 5 inch diameter or smaller. It has a very smooth cut.

The blade is also flexible and durable. The handle is comfortable to hold. I was worried that I would not like the carrying case and how it clipped to my belt, but after a few uses, I really like the design of the case.

Using the case, the saw is easily accessible for quick work as you hike along the trail. I hope you enjoy the saw as much as I have.

Saying that I found out after buying mine(they are not cheap) that I could buy a much cheaper saw made by Fischer(Gerber). It cuts great saying that I think about breaking the blade whenever I use it and having to pay for new blades which arent cheap.

So I use my cheaper one which cuts just as well and you get replacement blades much cheaper. The only thing that really makes this saw stand out is the holder and blade locking system. This is in my EDC so I will say that I am putting my life and my familys life in this saw.

I love this saw. The quality is off the charts. It’s almost shocking how fast you can cut with it. The curved blade makes it easy to stay on cut, and the coated handle makes it easy to maintain your grip.

The only negative is that it’s easy to hit the position release on the top of the handle when you’re gripping the handle closer to the blade. That’s not dangerous per se, but it’s disconcerting. The purchase process was fine, with the exception of a sticker that Cabela’s put onto the case that took the better part of an hour’s hard work to get off.

I suppose it might have looked like packaging to the person packing the order, but it was a bit of a thoughtless oversight. Overall, top notch product, perfect weight and size for camping or bushcraft, easy purchase decision.

I have not used the recently purchased one yet. If it is good as the ones I have owned previously it will be fantastic. They were fast cutting very sharp saws. You did not want to hit the teeth with a bare hand as blood would flow.

The problem these days is that I could not find one in any store. All I could find was the longer finer toothed saws which I was not looking for. I had to go online to purchase one. Another problem is that I could not find any one that could sharpen them.

When they got dull I bought a new one. The dull ones were put in my trapping basket for use on the trap line. Please do not put me on any list that will bombard me with adds and emails.

This saw has exceeded my expectations since the day my Wonderful Wife bought it for me. I have used it dozens of times, and believe me, I’m hard on all my tools. After all this time it’s held up better than all my other saws and it is still sharp and performs like new.

One regret, my grandfather passed away about fifty years ago, he had this incredibly cool Stanley wooden rectangular portable tool box full of a Stanley tools. what I would do to have back.

If I’m doing large projects (cutting a 4×8 panel into parts or working on a deck) I use a circular saw, but for small projects or to just shorten a 2×4 I reach for this saw. The teeth are “aggressively” cut.

This means they make fast work doing cross or rip cuts but they also leave a lot of tear out. This is not the saw for cutting laminate or plywood. But for rough work such as cutting dimensional lumber down to size, this is a great saw.

The teeth are hardened steel, so they stay sharp for a long time but can’t be sharpened. Stanley didn’t include a blade guard with the saw. The guard is very helpful for a saw that shares a toolbox with other tools that can bounce around and damage the teeth.

MDF will dull a blade quickly because of all the glue, but this saw has remained sharp even though I use this saw on a lot of MDF shelving. I’ve also used it for cutting tree branches, and the coating on the blade made sap clean up easy with just soap and water (instead of oven cleaner).

If you have a quick cut to make or simply aren’t in the mood for a loud power tool, you’ll find yourself reaching for this saw regularly whether you’re at the workbench or fixing something in the attic.

(I’m only giving the saw four stars for durability because it can’t be resharpened. ).

There is just nothing that can compete with the value and features that the Veritas line of saws offer. The materials used are top notch and the saw is extremely comfortable in the hand. There is also no other tenon saw that offers this much depth of cut below the spine.

Buy it, you won’t regret the purchase.

I purchased both the rip and crosscut versions of these saws recently to cut a lot of tenons for a suite of arts and crafts style furniture. The quality of manufacture is what you come to expect from Veritas.

very good indeed. The handle is very ergonomic and the whole balance of the saw is just right. As with any high end saw, very little pressure is needed to start the cut and the track is true, you just let the tool do the work.

These are excellent saws for the money.

I bought this in January and since then its been used weekly. Very sharp and well balanced, at first i was put off with the plastic back but it works really well and keeps the weight down. The quality of the steel is fantastic.
