20 Best Saw For Cutting Plastic (2023 Updated)

I had a Kobalt that broke, so I bought this saw. It stands up to the Dewalt name. Easily cuts drywall and punches through. Great quality and the price is also a deal.

If you’re accident prone don’t get this haha. This drywall saw is super sharp! No issues cutting through 5/8 drywall! This simply the best drywall saw I’ve ever used. Shipping was also fast.

I used this saw to cut lumber. Works fine, stays sharp. Not cutting a ton – just relatively small cuts that the circular saw isn’t right for and minor finishing cleanup cuts. Another reviewer complains that this saw got dull when cutting pine trees.

This saw is not intended to cut trees. Any saw meant to cut lumber will dull rapidly when misused. Might as well complain about a hack saw not working on pine trees. If you are expecting to cut trees or other live vegetation.

use a bow saw or pruning saw. Maybe like the bow saw on the Ace site.

Great little tool – just the right size for my hand and arm. I’ve been able to cut up small downed trees and branches which have also fallen.

My blade has an aggressive profile, and I found it to be exactly what I needed after I purchased it.

A great little saw that fits perfectly in your toolbox – 1st tick. Sharp fine blade that went through planed softwood cleanly – 2nd tick. Usual Bahco quality feel so worth the price tag. – 3rd tick. Plastic blade guard designed to open & close easily – 4th tick.

Not yet tried it on other materials but this is only one that claims to do metal, composite, etc. – 5th tick. I’ve already got “trade” rip saws so I’ll save this one for fine finishing work. Overall great addition to your tool collection.

Purchased to cut lengths of laminate flooring to size, works extremely well with the cutting action in both directions. Nice fine cut leaving no jagged edges on the laminate. Cuts true with no wandering which helped a lot but if you want to cut gentle curves applying a modicom of pressure will produce a gentle curve.

Thououghy recommend!. We used this on approximately 90 cuts (widthways & lengthways) on laminate and the blade was just showing some wear/blunting but still produced an effortless cut. This review sounds like I’m employed by Bahco/Screwfix but I’m not, I just want to recommend this saw very highly, you won’t need another!.

This was recommended to me so I bought it for guttering jobs. The smaller teeth are perfect for thin plastic and all my guttering cuts are clean and straight. Other reviews love it for timber too, but I havent used it on wood yet, although am sure itd be great.

If you need a quality small general saw, get one of these!.

I found the blades were indeed easy to change out. The smallest blade was a bit too flimsy for the job I needed but the middle size worked nicely. My biggest challenge was getting the tool out of the packaging.

It was really overly difficult.

I’m a little disappointed with this purchase. The large blade works the best of the three but has limited utility. It may be useful for trimming small to medium size tree branches. The smaller blades flex too easily to function as a jab saw or a hacksaw.

Tools specifically designed for each purpose are the better way to go.

Much better than expected. The pull saw blade is excellent

I’ve owned a few of this type of saw, but I usually go for the smaller ones under $10. Because I use them a lot I thought I’d get an upgrade, but I’ll be going back to the cheaper ones. This saw is not very sharp and it takes a lot more effort to saw through small branches than it does with the smaller pruning saws.

The size is awkward, and the blade doesn’t seem to be attached to the handle that well, as it didn’t want to go straight back in even after only one use. Just not worth the extra money.

Extra length allows for longer stroke and more leverage, even on small dia logs/brush etc. and that helps cut speed and effort. Design is marginal, especially lockback feature where saw blade doesnt track to handle when closing.

Similar to the $6, 7 varieties you can buy at harbor freight china stores but has longer blade. Putting in my camping box.

I have personally tried out this saw, on on a rather large tree branch to see how it would cope the branch was about 7 to 8 inches across. And I treated the branch as I would if using a chainsaw but I only used the samurai except for it taking longer to cut no fault to the saw.

it done an excellent job very controlled and it dropped the branch exactly where i intended. You would not use this saw in the way that I have described above, you could but not sure how long it would last if you did.

it would be perfectly suited to cutting 1-inch to 2 1/2 inches very easily and quickly. The curved blade makes it easy to cut on the pull action and gets to cut a part of the other side. Ideal for trimming and pruning small trained trees and bushes where a power tool is not needed.

After I did cut that big branch off I I then cut the rest of it up into pieces using my much loved husqvarna as I had to much big stuff to do and I didn’t want to be there for weeks on end lol. If you’ve only got one tree looking for a light trim this is one cracking handsaw.

It comes any hard plastic outer case with a quick release clip attachment so if it’s around your belt the outer case can be removed with the saw inside. If I ever need to get another one I wouldn’t hesitate too.

But mine will be for use while in a tree on small branches.

I’m coming from using a 13″ Silky ZUBAT, and that’s the only hand saw I’ve used in a tree before, so by no means am I aware of all the competing products. So first off, the price point of $30 made me skeptical when considering the competing products are selling for more than twice that.

I was also a bit unsure of the seemingly extreme angle between the hand-grip and the blade. Both of those concerns have been laid to rest after having used it now. This thing is great. Build quality and factory sharpness are on par with the ZUBAT.

The one thing I didn’t like, that I couldn’t have anticipated, was that you really can’t casually slide it into the sheath it comes with. If you don’t line it up perfectly, it binds up, and either won’t go in, or comes out rough.

That was actually a pretty big bummer, because you really don’t always have the leisure to play a game of operation out on a limb with one hand holding your line. Aside from that, you can see that it doesn’t have the little nub on the end that makes it easy to yank down suckers and deadwood.

Not a five star product yet, but I don’t think anyone else can touch this thing in terms of price to performance. I really don’t miss the ZUBAT. Save your money, buy one of these instead.

Amazing grip. Feels like extension of my hand. Durable quality blade. Lightweight. Plastic sheath is ok but the saw does not fit in tightly and rattles inside. Light shake upside down and the saw flies out.

Excellent saw but the manufacturer didn’t pay much attention to how the sheath was made. Needs tighter fit. All in all, best saw for the price. If they correct the sheath for tighter retention, it will be perfect.

As a professional craftsman , I tend to expect quality tools to help provide a higher degree of a quality job. I bought this for a very good price and for compact carry in my tool bag. Far as sheetrock saws go , they cut sheetrock and the drywall finisher makes it look pretty and perfect later.

I’m going to say this Dewalt saw and rasp rates a 7 out of 10 on a scale on construction because it rivals a cheap chinese made pocket knife , the saw blade and rasp have lots of play (wiggle/wobble) in the lock mechanism ,but it stays locked , and releases when the button is deliberately pushed , the sloppy lock mechanism can’t be fixed by tightening any screws.

The saw blade seems to be plenty sharp , and the rasp blade seems to be completely functional but is of stamped sheet-metal construction that has been spot-welded to the rasp blade. From a design perspective , I’d give it a perfect 10 in design , ergonomics and function.

It’s compact when folded , and serves the purpose when needed. If you occasionally cut sheetrock openings for electrical boxes , this is the perfect saw but if you do drywall work for a living , you may want to stick with your fixed blade saws and rasp.

How many times have you poked or cut yourself on a drywall saw because the blade was exposed? Worried about it cutting or damaging the bag you carry it in? There was a time I made a homemade sheath to cover the blade on my previous saws.

Then I saw this one that folds out like a pocket knife. As a DIYer with rental properties, I love this tool. I keep it in my main tool backpack and no longer have to worry about getting stabbed every time I reach in there to get something.

I’ve had this for 4 years and mine locks up solid and works just as good as any other drywall saw I’ve used, plus is has a small rasp. Don’t know if anyone else makes a folding saw like this, but until they do, I wouldn’t buy any other jab saw.

I can already tell this item is not professional grade. The blade wobbles. Although the rasp looks handy, Klein makes a much more sturdy folding jab saw.

Dream saw! As a 75 year old female DIYer, this saw is perfect! Actually, I’m sorry it took so long to find it as it would have been the perfect saw for me many years ago as well. Perfect size, weight and cutting power.

Super sturdy and handy. This is my second one, first one my kids left in the rain after working on building a fort, rusted all up. Still works but not as well. Love this product!
